thinking about historical copyright again!! legal history is interesting of itself but as multiple commentators have observed copyright is in some ways the only law enforced online & i think there are a lot of tense shifts occurring in how people think about copyright & cultural access, so it feels more pressing to understand like, what exactly is going on in this legal framework. anyway i read a good paper recently about the early history of copyright in english law [sidebar: these early modern precedents are part of the lineage of the american intellectual property regime, because of common law & our colonial past; now, because of the US's dominant role in the world trade organization, or i guess you could say our neocolonial present, the american intellectual property regime has an outsized effect on global practices, so it matters a lot more than it should]. the paper (stern, 2014) argued that modern copyright conflates two different ideas, one of which became dominant while the other is now only rhetorically invoked & has almost no legal standing any longer: the property right & the reputational interest, respectively. property rights are ownership, the right to control copies of a given work & to profit off of them, but reputational rights aren't really transferable; they include things like an author's public image and their dignity, their moral claim to have some say over how the work that they produce is shared and represented to the public. i found it very useful to see these two ideas disaggregated & treated as two different kinds of problems with potentially different solutions, because it is extremely common now online & elsewhere to defend an aggressive, i think clearly culturally harmful, copyright regime with reference to an author's dignitary rights, which are not in fact especially prioritized in actual law

How to avoid being spoiled with ST members' identities

A not so short guide for tumblr newcomers

Hello new fans and (probably) tiktok refugees! This is a guide on how to enjoy sleep token online without being spoiled and also, a guide on how not to be a twat at the same time.

It is rather long, but please give it a chance. If not for you, then for other people who do not want to be spoiled.

I was thinking about making a reminder post about it for ages and recent post from @zelink-stan02 inspired me to make it sooner!

Tumblr is one of not many places online where the chances of you getting jumpscared with the guys' faces and names are minimal. You're not completely safe here, but it's still way better than on other platforms. And a lot of users try to keep it that way.

So, the basics for people who want to avoid spoilers online!

No twitter. That is a place of no honour. No exceptions. Nothing good ever comes from ST twitter. Also i am not calling it x.

Tiktok is also not safe. But most of you probably know that.

Pinterest is a super quick way to see all their faces.

Idk about facebook, but i bet there are morons commenting with their legal names there too. Like on twitter.

Googling is very tricky. Image results will most likely show you their faces among 20 first photos and if you do google them. Well. The main search used to show the names as suggestions up here before; I'm glad to see that for now this is fixed:

BUT LO AND BEHOLD. Pictures tab gives you a treat (derogatory) of a full vessel's name RIGHT THERE:

First suggestion. They're not even trying. So yeah, googling is very tricky.

I didn't scroll further to the right, but i bet ii's name is there too. (Their names are spoiled most often, cause they're writing the songs.)

7. If you look for the lyrics, google sometimes shows vessel and ii's legal names in songwriters' credits. I haven't seen it recently, but it doesn't mean you won't see [redacted] instead of "Vessel 1" and so on in the credits. Try not to scroll too far when checking the lyrics. I think Apple music shows their names in lyics all the time, someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

Last but not least! How not to be a twat in the sleep token fandom space on tumblr:

Do not tag any band-related stuff with their names or older projects' names.

Do not post photos of their faces and tag it as the band or band members.

If you are a curious being and face/names reveals don't mean much to you, you can always scream about their past projects with your closest friends in the DMs. Or ask literally anyone here if they want to talk about those things without revealing those things' names publicly. Most of us have their faces and names spoiled anyway. But trust me, you don't need to put any names for us to understand what you mean.

Not exactly a tumblr thing, but! One of the band members streams on twitch. It is an unspoken rule to NOT mention anything band-related in the chat. No "worship", no band name, other members' names, nothing. He wants to keep those things separate. You get blocked there or he stops streaming for everyone if you're too pushy.

And remember folks, digging too much into their personal lives guarantees a court case against you!

I'm not joking. There is a person who is going to face charges for being way too parasocial and stalker-y about them. Do not be like that person. This applies to all public figures, not only sleep token. But some people take anonymity as a challenge to dig even deeper for all their info.

Last, but not least! I have the names spoiled and i don't mind talking about old projects and stuff. So I'm here for you if you want to google something, but are afraid of a face reveal, or if you just wanna talk about the older stuff (tho i admit, i don't know much about previous bands/projects of all of them). However, I will not be engaging in anything related to their private lives or families and I will block you on spot if you mention anything like this to me.

rafe pulled up to roni's house, honking the horn as she took her sweet time coming out. she was late��classic.

when she finally slid into the passenger seat, roni casually pulled out her cart, took a hit, and passed it over to him.without saying a word, she turned her head, blowing the smoke in his direction. rafe rolled his eyes but grabbed the cart out of her hand and took a hit himself.

music was blasting, windows down, the cool air mixing with the haze in the car. it was the perfect vibe—loud, carefree, and like they were in their own world. the drive to target felt like the most natural thing in the world, even if it might’ve been a little dangerous. but hey, they’d done this before. being high wasn’t the same as being drunk. it was fine.

they pulled into target, half-laughing and half-buzzed, like they were on a mission, but also not at all. the whole store was just a blur, with them bouncing between aisles, acting like they owned the place.

after that, they went back to tannyhill, sprawled out on the couch, snacks everywhere. rafe's phone buzzed—it was kelce, calling about something random. before they knew it, it turned into a facetime, and roni took the reins of the conversation.

rafe, needing a break from all the madness, tossed his phone to roni. “here, entertain kelce,” he joked, settling back into the couch. roni grinned and grabbed the phone, instantly hitting screen share. “lets see what he has to hide...” she said as she opened his snapchat memories. each pic was funnier than the last, and she couldn’t help laughing at whatever she found.

then she pressed the "flashbacks from this day" tag at the top, revealing the golden snap from three years ago. rafe, looking extra dramatic, with the caption: “i’m watching you…” roni erupted in laughter, almost dropping the phone. kelce was already cracking up, and the chaos was contagious.

without a second thought, she saved the pic, posted it on kooked.out. the caption reading: “im watching you... #rafeflashbacks.” by the time rafe came back, he saw her still holding his phone, practically on the floor from laughing.

rafe came back into the room, saw her holding his phone, still laughing like a maniac. he raised an eyebrow. “what’d you do?”

roni handed him the phone, the kooked out page with the freshly posted flashback still on the screen.

rafe stared at his phone, confused and starting to go through the comments. “wait, what the hell? why’d you post that?”

she turned back to the phone, still grinning like a maniac. “ok bye kelce, boutta get my ass beat,” she said, cutting the facetime and laughing even harder.

and that was just the beginning. one post turned into another, and suddenly it was a full-on back-and-forth, each one more ridiculous than the last. of course, it wasn’t just them—everyone was watching. the posts blew up, people were commenting, and that only made the whole thing funnier.

they didn’t even think about the consequences— why would they? they were just messing around, having a good time. who cares what might happen when you're high and living the moment with your best, best, friend?

ahaahhhasdjahdj i loved making the posts at the end lollll ok this is for like character developent and next chapter (i think) will be the start of the turning point.

Lewis Hamilton and Y/n Y/l/n are a couple that is known for being ‘private but not a secret’. The iconic eight time Grammy winner and seven time World Driver’s Champion winning duo are quite protective of their relationship, the pair will proudly show off each other and parade around hand in hand, but they’d often avoid revealing intimate details on their love.

Last night, however, possibly one of their most intimate moments was leaked by an anonymous user on twitter. The now deleted account had tweeted out a link to a video that was uploaded to google drive, the two hour forty five minute video was a sex tape filmed by the couple in their shared Monaco home.

Though both stars’ PR Teams have both issued statements regarding the leaked tape, they personally haven’t commented on it, nor have they been active on Twitter, or any other social media. “Hamilton’s” statement condemns the person who leaked the video; “It is extremely disrespectful and a complete invasion and violation of privacy. No once should find themselves in such position”.

The statement put out by Y/l/n’s estate was much more harsh; “A police report has been made and we will be taking legal action against the person who leaked the video. What was done was a crime and the criminal will be facing the consequences of their actions soon”.

In the past 24 hour period the video is said to have been viewed over 44 million times and the views are only increasing. Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to having intimate tapes leaked, but Y/n Y/l/n sure is the amateur in this situation. What’s your opinion on this entire ordeal?

Yes and Yes -- But tumblr has a limit on the file size I can upload for both MP3 and MP4, so I might have to crop it regardless. You can add your recommended crop time to your submission if you feel it might be necessary.

For the song I wanted to submit, the only good youtube link for it was taken down recently. So my options would be to send a youtube link for a version with inferior audio (which also uses a fanmade title rather than the official one), or a link to a google drive file that has the song in good quality. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. Any preference/suggestions as to what I should do?

You can send the google drive link and I'll download it from there if you prefer to have the best audio possible. I'd appreciate having the youtube link as well for the reveal, and then you can drop the google drive link in the comments to share with everyone (if you'd like) :).

While I know submissions aren't open at the moment, I just want to ask so I can find a good submission for when they are, one of the rules states rhythm game songs that aren't EXCLUSIVELY video games songs won't be accepted. Would songs made specifically for a rhythm game count as a video game song in that regard? For example, a lot of songs in bemani games are made specifically for said game either by outside artists or the in-house sound teams.

A very generalized rule you can follow for rhythm games is: - If it's an idol/ensemble-cast/gacha rhythm game: No - If it's a regular rhythm game, such as rhythm heaven, dynamix, arcaea, any arcade game: Yes. This rule specifically exists to rule out submissions of songs from series like Love Live, Bandori, Ensemble Stars, IDOLISH7, etc.

What if an official soundtrack release includes both (individual tracks for each movement as well as a track combining them?)

You can specify the specific movement you'd like to submit or the entire song, and it doesn't matter to me if they're combined on the official OST or not :) (just let me know if you have a preferred crop time if they ARE combined). If it's something like a two-part boss fight with one song name, I'd just name it like "Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy (first phase)" and "Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy (second phase)". I would probably not post any of the movements individually if the full song had already been posted previously, but I would consider doing the opposite (posting the full song when only movements have been posted previously). This is highly dependent on the particular song.

I pick the youtube video for the reveal based almost entirely on what I think the most "stable" link might be -- links with more views, that's been on youtube for more time, or that's from the composers / other official channel. If they have an in-game music video you'd prefer for the reveal you're more than welcome to indicate that on the submission.

That's definitely allowed :). You can just describe the song the best of your ability or use a commonly attributed name in the fandom or something. I would like to see a WIP 2 weeks after your part is assigned. I can talk about due dates as the WIPS come in. I know we all have lives. 

There is a very LOOSE script here. This is all for fun since it’s not even canon. 

PARTS 1-3: Moonpaw at the Moonpool. She has not actually gone into the water yet.

PART 4: Moonpaw walks in the first time. She only wades in about halfway up her legs. 

PARTS 5-7: Moonpaw in the water only halfway up her legs, like in part 4. 

PART 8: Moonpaw walks in as far as her chest. 

PART 9-10: Mooonpaw is in as far as her chest. These parts are very open to interpretation since they are instrumental, but I think it would be a lot of fun to do something with the Moonpool swimming around her, or doing something cool with stars! 

PART 11-14: Still should only be as far as her chest. 

PART 15: Moonpaw walks in as far as her chin. 

PART 15-17: You get it. Only as far as her chin. 

PART 18: However you want it to happen, Moonpaw goes all the way in! Underneath! 

PARTS 18-21: In my head she is drowning here, or going deeper and deeper. Once again, very open to interpretation.

My Little Sombra is an MLP AU created by @xconito

A fully colored comic available in English and Spanish. It is an ambitious project based on the episode “Cutie Re-mark” from the 5th season of MLP.

What is the comic about?

The unicorn prodigy Twilight Sparkle must find a way to stop the King Sombra, bring peace to Equestria, and make the Princess Celestia proud of her. But there is only one problem; she have to make friends.

Join Twilight Sparkle on her journey to find the Elements of Harmony to defeat Sombra and, maybe, she will discover how magical friendship can be!

When will it be available?

On January 1, 2025, the pilot chapter #00 will be available in PDF via Google Drive, and it will also be posted on the official My Little Sombra Twitter account FOR FREE!

Is it suitable for all audiences?

Of course! However, discretion is recommended as there may be graphic or violent scenes, suggestive or sexual themes and/or mental problems and self-harm behaviors.

woahmygoodness, they’re even on the 3ds. if your 3ds is modded, you can use these too! i plan on making some more in the future, but right now i’m pretty busy so i don’t know when that’ll be. if you have any requests (obt/pmd related), suggestions or issues feel free to comment! i’ve also submitted these to the theme plaza website because it’s way easier to use, but they’re still waiting on approval which will take some time. i’ll either update this post or make a new one over here and on bluesky when that time comes.
