Codex Week Day 1: Like-Minded Individuals
Summary: Rex shares a drink with one Commander Hept as they air their grievances about Cody, the soon-to-be commander of the 212th. There's certainly no secret reason why Hept is so familiar with Cody and so eager to hear Rex's impression of the man. It's Cody. Hept is Cody. Rating: E Tags: First Meetings, Hook-Up, Mistaken Identity, Secret Identity, Gossip, Drinking, Nonsense, Blow Jobs, Cody is an Asshole, Rex is tragically very into it For @codex-week day 1: Secrets, Whispers and Rumors
Rex flicks the butt of his cigarette to the ground with fingers slowly going numb from the cold. He crushes out the fading orange with the sole of his boot and mumbles a goodbye to the brother who’d spared him the smoke in the first place, his own packet forgotten back in his quarters.
The heat of 79s hits like a durasteel wall, and in an instant, Rex’s dress greys go from too thin to too heavy.
Rex shoulders his way through the gaggle of clones lingering around the door, lacking any awareness of how in the way they are, fumbling with the buttons so he can shed the jacket again. His fingers are still clumsy with cold, and the one at the bottom is stubborn. He steps free of the group and glares down at his hands, trying to force the little button through stiff material.
He walks directly into the back of a clone. The clone stumbles, Rex stumbling with him. The clone catches himself on the bar, but it’s an ineloquent thing, the drink in his hand splashing all over the front of his jacket, staining the grey shades darker.
The damage is already done, but Rex still pulls the now mostly empty glass from the clone’s hand, looking around frantically for napkins to mop up the mess.
“I’m sorry!” Rex glances at the clone’s now-soggy jacket and the distressing number of dots on its breast, denoting his rank. “Sir.”
“Heck,” the commander mutters, holding his arms away from himself, inspecting the damage. He drips onto the floor. He sighs and looks back up at Rex. There’s a scar twisting down the side of his face, starting on his forehead and curling around his eye and over his cheekbone. Otherwise, he’s perfectly regulation, except for the raised, judgemental eyebrows.
“I’m sorry,” Rex says again. “I was… I wasn’t looking,” he finishes lamely.
“Clearly,” the clone says, with no small amount of amusement. Rex cringes, though he’d rather be laughed at than dressed down.

Note
may we get a glimpse of "Codex, Cody domming the fuck out of Rex, hard bdsm, bondage, impact play" please? 👀
Oh yes definitely! I don't have much atm beyond dot points but I'll put some good ones below. This is the one I'm leaning towards the most for Codex week so I really hope the brain cell lets me finish it.
Rex needs a certain edge to his play and Cody knows exactly how to give it to him
Can still be tender and have tender moments but definitely tender aftercare
Maybe as Cody takes the weighted nipple clamps off Rex and Rex yells are muffled by the gag and he clutches onto Cody’s hand and Cody continues to tell Rex he’s doing well while playing with his painfully throbbing nipple and Rex is making gravelly sort of rage filled pained noises and pulling and twisting and writing but he can barely move because Cody is not a fucking amateur thank you very much and the bondage gear is heavy duty so all Rex can do is ineffectual and pointlessly writhe in his bonds and scream into his gag and cry and sob and look pleadingly at Cody, not sure if he’s begging for it to end or for more (both?)
They hold hands as Cody talks Rex through what he’s going to do to him and as he does it to him
Asdf;lkj have some of Cody feeding Rex his cock in this, properly fucking his mouth and throat, Rex unable to do anything apart from kneel there and take it, gasping and heaving, drool fucking everywhere, tears streaming down his face etc
Start with Cody watching and admiring Rex, who is on his knees, wrists cuffed behind him in leather cuffs, maybe blindfold as well?
Lots of use of ‘good boy’ in this
“I’m going to wreck/ruin you” “Please”
There's also a dot point that is literally just "Yeah lets go unhinged with this"

Romantic Confessions Part 2
Part 2/30
2. "You need to know that I have grown to care for you. Deeply."
Pairing: Cody/Rex
Rating/WC: T/1565
~~
Rex will never not be amazed by how completely flawless and amazing Cody is.
He will never grow tired of watching the man in action on the battlefield. Of watching him jump from droid to droid without a care in the word, as if it’s easy to just rip droid heads off. As if it’s easy to do that, and then jump to the next one without pausing and doing it again.
Before Cody got this good, Rex had been under the impression that only Jedi could move like that. But Cody can. Easily.
Rex is playing back the memory in his head, over and over. Cody seeing a droid getting too close. Jumping on it, using his legs to wrap around its waist, and ripping the head clean off. Before it could even fall to the ground, Cody was using its body as a platform to propel himself to the next one, repeating his earlier actions.
“You’re thinking too loud,” Cody murmurs, startling Rex. He looks over at the captain, expression hidden behind the bucket.
Rex forces a small smile, before he remembers Cody can’t see it. He sighs instead, looking forward at where they’re going. “Sorry,” is all he says. He doesn’t know what else to say there. Sorry, I was just thinking about how much I want  you. How much I want to be you. Yeah, he’s admitting that out loud to the Clone Marshal Commander of the entire 7th system army. Right.
They march on towards the meeting room in silence for a few minutes, before Cody sighs and takes his helmet off. Rex quickly follows suit, looking over at Cody. “I know we lost a lot of men today, Rex, but it isn’t your fault. This is a war, and that was a tough battle.”
Rex has to blink before he remembers that Cody was probably worried about how lost in thought Rex was. The thought of Cody worrying about him at all makes Rex want to giggle like a damn Padawan. “I know, Cody,” he mumbles instead, looking to the ground.
After all these years, Rex knows better than to call Cody sir. He’s made it very clear that he views Rex as his equal, and titles like that only annoy Cody.
He also knows at this point that losing men is a part of his job description. He regrets each and every one of them, wishes it could be different for his fellow clones. But he doesn’t fantasize about how he could have saved them if he did something just a bit differently anymore. He doesn’t let himself consciously think about it at all anymore. He saves it for his nightmares, and as motivation to do his flimsiwork when he can’t sleep.
“Sorry,” Rex repeats, opening the door to the meeting room and allowing Cody to walk through first. “I was just thinking about the battle, is all. I know I can’t save them all.” There. Not a lie, but it doesn’t give too much away either.
Cody hums, putting his bucket on the holo table and turning to look at Rex. They’re half an hour early, as usual. “You did very well, today. You lost even less men than I did.”
Rex closes the door, one eyebrow raised. That’s extremely high praise; Cody and Obi-Wan take great pride in how few men they have to replace. “Thank you, Cody,” he says, placing his own helmet on the holo. “I’ll never be as excellent as you are, though. It’s always such a pleasure to work with you and your general.”
Cody chuckles softly, turning a warm smile to the captain. “I can’t say the same about your crazy general…” he starts, which gains him a smirk from Rex. “But it is always great to work with you, Rex.”
Rex fights back the urge to preen at the praise. “Oh, I bet you say that to all the captains,” he says instead, going for a joke.
Cody’s smile disappears, and he’s so serious that it makes Rex tense. “No. I don’t. I mean it; I always look forward to working with you specifically.”
Rex’s breath hitches, in part due to the look Cody is fixing him with and in part due to the praise. “I…” he clears his throat, looking down at his boots. “That really means a lot to me, coming from you, Cody.”
Cody hums in approval that his message has been received, before stepping closer. “Rex?” He asks softly.
Rex looks up, fighting the urge to squirm at how close the commander is to him. “Yeah?” He asks back.
Cody pauses, just looking over Rex’s face. Rex looks around the room after a few agonizing moments, unable to handle being looked over so closely.
But then Cody speaks, and his eyes snap back to the commander’s. “You need to know that I have grown to care for you,” he says, eyes intense and voice deep. Rex is about to deflect, opens his mouth to say he knows Cody cares about him, about all of them, when Cody cuts him off. “Deeply.”
Rex lets out a shaky breath, eyes widening just a fraction. Oh. Not like how Cody cares about all of them.
Rex’s eyes flit between Cody’s as he processes, attempting to take in the words as facts. Cody cares about me. Deeply. It doesn’t make any sense; how can someone as perfect and capable and…Cody, care about Rex? How can someone like Cody even look at Rex?
But he doesn’t see any trace of a lie, or a hint of a joke. Cody cares about Rex.
Rex hadn’t ever even dreamed about the possibility, it seemed so far-fetched.
Just when Cody seems to grow self-conscious in the silence, Rex moves a shaky hand to Cody’s neck, just above where the armor is covering Cody’s shoulder.
Cody’s eyes go wide for just a second, before they go half-lidded and his lips twist up into a smirk. He nods once, confirming Rex’s unasked question.
Rex’s other hand comes up, shaking just a bit before he steels his resolve, and he carefully runs his fingers over Cody’s jaw.
His eyes look their fill, studying every line and scar and curve of Cody’s face in a way he had never allowed himself to before. He feels his jaw slacken in awe, but he can’t bring himself to be embarrassed about it when Cody is looking at him like that.
Rex finally moves his eyes back to Cody’s, stepping closer until their chest plates are almost touching. “Me?” He can’t help but make sure, as if Cody wasn’t aware of who he was talking to.
Cody only rolls his eyes, before one hand moves to cup the back of Rex’s neck and the other rests on Rex’s hip. The yes, you, idiot, is unspoken but very much heard.
Rex feels a smile break out on his face, and he leans in, until his lips are just an inch away from the commander’s. He gently uses his fingers to pull Cody’s face up, runs his other hand’s thumb along the collarbone. His breath hitches again, and he looks from Cody’s lips to his eyes.
Cody ends up taking the leap, leaning in and carefully pressing his lips to Rex’s. His hands tighten on the back of Rex's neck and on his hip, pulling him just that much closer.
Rex gasps into it at first, but he's quickly found the ability to reciprocate. He moves his lips against Cody's, his fingers curling under Cody's jaw. His other hand moves up Cody's neck until his thumb is resting just under his earlobe.
They pull away after far too little time, breathing in each other's air and looking into the other's eyes. Rex has never had such a simple thought process before, but all he wants is for Cody to kiss him again and never stop. Everything else simply stops existing to Rex in that moment.
But Cody recovers first, the bastard, and his fond smile twists into a playful smirk. "We'll continue this later...unless you want the generals to see?" the way he phrases it, as if he himself couldn't care less if Obi-Wan caught them, makes Rex's impulse control fracture.
But then, the thought of Anakin catching his captain kissing someone; or worse, Ahsoka...Rex would literally never hear the end of it. He would be teased until the end of the war; maybe longer if he lives that long. Absolutely not.
He sighs in annoyance, before letting his hands trail down Cody's arms and until his hands rest gently on each wrist. He pulls the one off of his hip and twists their fingers together, but he holds the hand on his neck still until he can move his hand to kiss the palm.
This time, Cody's eyes go wide and his breath stops for a beat. Hah, take that you smug bastard, he doesn't say. He smirks instead, implying the same message. "Later," he agrees, before letting Cody's hands go gently and taking a step back.
Cody only has time to shoot him a mildly annoyed look before the door bursts open, and a pissed-off Anakin stomps through. "No, Obi-Wan, it was a nightmare, and you can't deny that!"
Rex sighs, standing at attention and waiting for the others to join them. It's going to be a long meeting...

I've been sitting here like "I should really work on @codex-week stuff" for several days now and I finally have a vague outline of what I'm going to write for each day.
All seven ficlets will take place in the same universe, but the only one in chronological order if I post them day-by-day is day 7, so I'm thinking of waiting to post them all at once on the last day since I hate reordering ao3 series and the event runners accept late submissions. 🤔
Also I will once again be back on my Lorde bullshit with lyric titles and listening to the song the title comes from on repeat for each project.

Codex Week Day 2: Shelter From The Storm
Summary: Sometimes Cody doesn’t know what to do with the weight of his feelings towards Rex. Rating: T Tags: Non-Sexual Intimacy, Established Relationship, Slice of Life, Kissing For @codex-week day 2: Hands and Heart
The durasteel bars across the windows survived the Separatist’s assault and even the 212th and 501st’s counter-assaTult to reclaim the building, but the glass hadn’t been as lucky. After they’d put metal sheets over them, but the fit isn’t perfect and the wind is icy cold where it whips through the gaps. Cody walks quickly, hands curled into fists to protect his fingers, fighting down a shiver. His dress greys are damp from the humidity and a days worth of sweat and struggle to keep the wind out as successful as they had when dry that morning.
The building was a barracks long before they arrived, even if there’s little of the local army left to live in it. The 212th have gratefully taken over the unused space, revelling in the luxury of having a dedicated building without having to build it themselves. The corridor Cody has been housed at the end of is lined with dim orange lights, each struggling to make do with the meager share of the power they’ve been allowed.
Cody stops outside his door, rubbing at his face, pulling himself straight until he feels the stretch up his legs and over his shoulders. Whatever illusion of alertness it gives him fades the moment he relaxes again, weariness seeping back into his limbs and settling like a heavy fog over his mind. He knocks, even though it’s his room, and lets himself in.
Rex looks up from Cody’s desk, the furrow of his brow smoothing out as the hard line of his frown softens. Cody’s own mouth smiles back before he fully considers the action. Rex looks away again, back to the datapad on the desk in front of him. Cody rubs at his face again. The room is tidier than when he left that morning, Rex having cleared some space on his desk, abandoned mugs gathered in one place if not removed entirely. Half of Cody’s kit is still scattered across his bed, but the stuff on the floor has been moved.

Obi-Wan: So... Cody and I are very close.
Cody: Very, very close.
Anakin: Well, I know. You are very good friends.
Cody: We're not friends.
Anakin : What???
Obi-Wan: Cody! Of course we're friends! It's just that there's something else as well.
Anakin: What else do you do?
Obi-Wan : I don't know how to explain this to you...
Cody : Your master and I sleep together.
Obi-Wan : Cody!
Anakin : That's all? I thought you wanted to tell me something important.
Obi-Wan: I thought you'd react differently.
Cody : Me too.
Anakin : Why? Rex and I do that too.
Obi-Wan : What?
Cody : What?!
Anakin: Fives and Echo joined us last time. It's happened before that Jesse and Hardcase come too.
Cody : WHAT?!
Anakin : It's rare, but Kix also comes to join us sometimes.
Obi-Wan : Oh my god! Anakin! I didn't raise you like that!
Cody : I'm going to be sick...
*2 hours later*
Anakin: I don't understand their reaction, Rex! We didn't do anything wrong!
Rex: I don't know, sir. Maybe sleeping in the same tent as his general is forbidden.
Anakin : What? Even when it's very cold? That's ridiculous! Sharing a tent is the best idea to avoid freezing to death!
Rex : I know, sir. Their reactions are strange.
Kix : Maybe it's because General Kenobi and Commander Cody weren't talking about sharing a tent?
Anakin : What were they talking about then?
Kix :
