A whumpee who lives with intense chronic pain, and whose perception of pain is all skewed.
Their daily pain baseline would be enough to force a healthy person to take a day off.
So when they seek medical help for something visibly wrong and extremely painful (a badly broken bone, a horribly dislocated joint, a nasty cut, a burst appendix), they're just. Unphased.
And when the doctors ask them to rate their pain on a scale from 1 to 10, they'd just shrug and go "Meh, 7. I've been better, but also worse"
"Whumpee, your femur is not even remotely where it's supposed to be."
"...7 and a half tops."

no no no but was wilson good at pole dancing?
is this a recurring event?
WHAT IF WILSON WAS SUPER INTO POLE DANCING. LIKE. WE DON'T SEE MANY OF HIS HOBBIES. MAYBE THIS IS WHY. MAYBE WILSON LIKES POLE DANCING AND I BET HE'D GET ANNOYED IF IT'S CONFLATED WITH STRIPPING (BUT OF COURSE HE'D DO THAT TOO).
aaaaaaaaaa you just gave me new wilson headcanons right there thanks marc
i clearly underestimated how huge "house enrolled himself and wilson into at minimum one (1) pole dancing lesson" would go over with The People
listen. i love wilson i really do but he was doodoo. little upper body strength and not enough stamina. if it was getting house to sweat, wilson didn't stand a chance. bc like reminder, house was always an active dude if he was doing like lacrosse and cheerleading etc etc, and wilson iirc only really played tennis? i think? man's squeaking painfully off that pole and laying on the studio floor afterward for a while because he pinched his nuts on the way down

Today in class, one of my colleagues decided to put on a very patriotic Malaysian song because my lecturer let us choice what song(s) to put behind the background while in class. Everyone was cheering and singing (either sarcastically, enthusiastically or passionately) when the song was playing, like it was "Hari Merdeka" or some special occasion. It was cool. :)
That being said:
Do you guys think the Supa Strikas Boys would put on and BLAST Patriotic South African music and sings their hearts out to let the world know how much they are proud playing for the Badge, even if no one is watching???
Or, rarely at days, they put on Patriotic South African music before practice or a match to boost themselves up? Or remind them what they are playing for?? Like, "Strika Chord S7E12" kinda made it canon that most of them have rhythm, and some of them can sing, when they were cheering up Shakes and tighten their bond more. I wouldn't be surprise if this is one of the things they would do to boost themselves up together. (Cool Joe would have a WILD GOOD TIME with his singing skills, while Blok give a good beatboxing rhythm for them, or shred the Bass with North, as he shred on a electric guitar. Everyone else have some music skills they know.)
Do you guys also think that each and every one of them, who is from outside South Africa, would put on their respective regional songs, and sing their hearts out as well, and the others would hype them up because they know how important it is to remind where your roots are?? And be proud of who you are and where you're from????
I've been thinking this for a while after my class was finished- :')

There is something that makes me vaguely uncomfortable about reading characters who are obviously way too... emotionally competent, shall we say, in fic.
Like I can't exactly phrase it in another way, but lately I've been seeing it more often: conversations that are supposed to be between a pair of lovers, but are written in such a tone where it sounds less like they're two people who are sharing a significant or intimate moment of emotional connection, and more like one character is... giving the other therapy.
I know this is vague, and fantasizing about genuinely just helping a character you like is beyond fine, there's nothing wrong with that, but... no matter how well-written something is, there's just a certain tone some people seem prone to hitting, where it just feels like their character is not emotionally present, not really, when someone they supposedly care for is falling apart.
That therapy-speak, outside of actual therapy, it sounds detached. Cynical, or even slightly condescending. Removed from the moment. And especially in a fantasy setting (where it's easy to fall into anachronisms already), it can really easily start to feel like one character is talking the other through a potential turning point in what's supposed to be their relationship, the way a crisis negotiator might talk someone off a ledge.
It... makes me feel weird. And I too feel then immediately disconnected from the character doing it.

Of course anxiety meds, ADHD meds and therapy don't work on me as intended. Of course I am the stupidest case scenario. Of course I have to be the trouble maker. Fuck fuck fuck.

Abandonment

Abandonment can be a deeply painful experience, both emotionally and spiritually. From a spiritual perspective, it often represents a loss of faith and trust. This loss is not just in others, but sometimes in a higher power or the universe itself. This feeling of being left behind or betrayed can lead to a sense of desperation and rejection. However, it’s important to remember that these…
