Clavier, the glamrock DJMM that's now just an uncanny valley silicone-faced animatronic that barely looks like djmm. I was watching this show, Bunheads, recently, and the main character commented that she had never been in love and didn't think she was capable. I, aromantic as fuck, comment "aromantic queen".

My little brother, who was in the room, decides to respond to this by saying "I think calling yourself aromantic is a bit pessimistic".

He obviously recognises he fucked up because he immediately tried to walk it back, but I subjected him to a lecture on amatonormativity and the concept of lovelessness anyways.

The kneejerk reaction is always assuming that being aromantic is an unlucky outcome. I'm not saying that it's just allos who think like this cause I thought like that when I was in denial. When so much of life is centered around finding love, the concept of being unable to fall in love sounds like a bummer. Of course it isn't, but yknow, most people don't reconsider
