whats your favourite writing spice that you use sparingly

#you know like the pinch nutmeg in the hot cocoa not the 2 full teaspoons of cinnamon that also go in there #mine is switching to second person in the middle of a sentence #im always in really close third person pov so it works well i think #to convey like......the emotion of the character becoming for a flash so intense that the separation of narration disappears #me narrator loses grip of the narrative distance like they character loses grip of perspective #only really sparingly though like. one sentence every couple of fics i think #my cinnamon is all the wall to wall rhymes and alliterations that are just not necessary but mmm cimmanom

today someone saved Snakes and Lattes to a reading list entitled “F*ckers who will never update :)”

and that was it.

that was the spite fuel i needed to open up the neglected word doc.
