I think one of my favorite parts about the Lunar Chronicles is how Carswell Thorne was minding his own damn business and then suddenly he’s part of this rebellion against the fucking moon. He didn’t really have a reason to be part of it, not like the others did.

For comparison, Cinder is the missing Lunar princess Selene, so duh she’d be involved, it’s up to her to stop her crazy aunt. Kai is a whole emperor of a country and is the one being very pressured by Levana into marrying her. Scarlet was also kinda minding her business but then the police didn’t do their job so she got swept up in the wolf army and that’s pretty reason enough (also her grandma died at the hands of the wolf army). Ze’ev is a rogue wolf soldier who wanted to make his own decisions and a life for himself. Cress was Levana’s best hacker and a witness/victim to the systemic mistreatment of shells like herself. Winter, being the Queen’s stepdaughter and one of the first and closest victims to Levana’s cruelty, had every reason to turn on her stepmother but she would never turn her back on her people, especially the servants and other lower-class citizens who saw her and her refusal to bow to Levana’s demands/use her Lunar gift at all as an act of rebellion itself. And Jacin had been silently rebelling against Levana since he was 15; he is Winter’s closest (and only, it seems) friend on Luna, so he too was witness to many of Levana’s atrocities, along with the atrocities of the thaumaturges he assisted.

But Thorne? He’s a petty criminal. He organized a prison riot over fucking soap. He has no personal connection to a rebellion. He joined cause he wanted to cause chaos. And I respect that.

in tvl lestat says "i was born restless, the dreamer, the angry one, the complainer." which is crazy because yeah, that might just be why he and louis don't work. lestat can't stay still one minute, always has to let out his emotions, act on impulse, keep momentum so he doesn't have to face anything real and try to understand himself, he suffocated his own self doubt in vanity and a huge ego. meanwhile louis is always paralyzed with guilt, always philosophizing and overthinking and doesn't dare take action because of his own deep self loathing. his whole deal is this immovable passivity that he can't seem to break out of.

how maddening that must be, to share your life with someone who copes with the same struggles so vastly different. always either wondering "why won't you move?" or "why won't you stay still for a moment?"

hello, i'm watching one hundred years of solitude thanks to your posts and finding it absolutely captivating. i'm interested to know what you like most about the story if you feel like sharing!

I’ve been completely steeped in the book for well over half of my life, so I’m the worst person to ask about the narrative of the show—when I watch it, my brain slots in the missing context almost as quickly as the input makes its way up my visual pathway. So much of my enjoyment is rooted in how attentively the show replicates Márquez’s visual and sensory descriptions, and how ambitiously it goes about translating the lyrical prose through pacing and cinematography.

Kang Sora as Oh Hara and Jung Seungjo as Goo Eun Beom in Strangers Again: the story ruined everything

Lee Jaewook as Baek Kyung and Kim Hye Yoon as Eun Dan Oh in Extraordinary You:only if Baek Kyung wasn't written as a red flag by the manhwa writer

Jeon Doyeon as Gil Bok Soon and Koo Kyo hwan as Han Hee Seong in Kill Bok Soon: the storyline was good for a crime thriller but unfortunate for them

Moon Sangmin as Lee Jihan and Jeon Jong Seo as Na Ah Jung in Wedding Impossible :they get happy ending but the storyline was messy imo

Lee Jaewook as Han Tae Oh and Choi Hee Jin as Kang Hee Joo in The Impossible Heir : yall know why. Everything in this drama was messed up except the chemistry between these two actors

Ki Do Hoon as Yangcha and Kim Ji Won as Tanya in Arthdal Chronicles: basically Kim Ji Won has chemistry with everyone she acts alongside

Lee Jae In as Lee Yoon Seo and Cha Woo Min as Ko Kyung Jun in Night Has Come: honestly I didn't even consider them before I saw all those edits on YT

Go Youn Jung as Jung Jisoo and Seo In Guk as Kim Seong Hyeop in Death's Game: even the smallest moments between them was enough to establish how beautiful chemistry they had

Lee Dohyun as Go Chang Myung and IU as Jang Man Wol in Hotel Del Luna: one of the best pairings in a KDrama to exist

10/10 stunning Yuuko moment. 

(secretly every Yuuko moment is a 10/10 stunning Yuuko moment BUT THIS ONE IS PARTICULARLY NICE)

BUT WAIT MORE THOUGHTS MORE THOUGHTS. It turns out Clow Reed stopped Yuuko at the point of her death, but I have questions! Did he know about her death ahead of time and stopped it as it was happening? Or did she Actually Die and he turned back time to save her, like Lava Lamp? Because I would expect something a bit more Universe Breaking from Clow Reed. 

DID he Reverse Time to save her, and if he did, did he end up creating a clone person in the process? And who was it? Was it the Other Clow Reed who ended up in the Clow Kingdom, or was it Evil Wolverine maybe? 

Or! Is Yuuko maybe actually a clone? Like, a clone of the person who actually died and frozen at that exact moment of her existence forever? 

We have some fun options here.

But also that looks like it's the end of the chapter.

Hi hi!!!! I saw your sizzy HCs and I would love it if you did TMI gang HCs for the future when they have kids and all💗 How do they all interact with their kids/each other’s kids? That ask about Jace’s kids made me laugh I feel like his kids would have a jar for him to put money in whenever he’s too cocky, kinda like New Girl with Schmidt

simon and izzy are the go-to babysitter couple of the bunch for sure, given that they aren't running an institute or, you know, the entire clave. they're also the most likely to have a movie or game night, which the kids absolutely love

because the cousins span over a decade in ages, there seems to always be a baby to hold, and clary is always the first one to reach for them (followed by alec)

jace is stricter as a father than might be expected. not in a harsh way, but in a protective way. in a 'i want you to learn how best protect yourself and your family' way. he's definitely a teacher, in a very physical way, and loves spending time in the training room with his kids and niblings (not that this makes him any more mature or less ridiculous at his core hehe)

creativity and expression are very well supported by all members of the tmi gang, and their children develop a good amount of confidence when it comes to being themselves and not necessarily folding into shadowhunter (or warlock) norms

magnus loves taking the kids on adventures and showing them things they might never have gotten to see if they didn't have a very powerful warlock for an uncle, but he is also very protective, moreso than some of the other parents. he's seen too many people die to knowingly bear witness to human/shadowhunter recklessness in these kids he cares so much for

alec is the first one to suggest they let rafe go out on patrol, not without alec ofc. that first patrol is a fun one. jace is there too. he's muchhh less strict with his niblings than he is with his own kids, and he tends to treat them much more like how he treats kit. hence the fun hehe rafe has a blast, and the whole time alec's anxiety is through the roof.

all the cousins are scared of izzy's cooking. even if she's gotten better as the years have gone on, their parents have ingrained in them too much fear for the food she makes not to be wary when she holds out a wooden spoon with a questionable substance on it. usually the kids ask for pizza. or a delivery of chinese food (like parents like kids hehe)
