A Hallmark Christmas movie from back when that meant something very different than it does today, Mrs. Santa Claus is about, well, Mrs. Santa Claus. She accidentally gets stranded in New York while testing out a new sleigh route and ends up marching for women's suffrage, unionizing a toy workshop, and, as this is a Jerry Herman musical, wearing a stunning red gown while the cast toasts her for being an impeccable woman.

I've loved this movie since my family first taped it off the TV, so I'm thrilled it's been uploaded to youtube so I can share it with all of you.

Tried to hit Mariah's whistle notes but only succeeded in annoying Dally

Keeps making knee surgery jokes (I'm so sorry)

Makes everyone handmade gifts instead of buying things bc he thinks it's more thoughtful

Put a picture of the gang on top of the tree instead of a star

They can't afford fancy ornaments so they all have a day where they make ornaments together

He made one with a bunch of pictures of Steve on it bc he loves his boyfriend

Dally:

insists violent night is a Christmas movie

Shoplifts everyone's gifts

Secretly loves Christmas lights but doesn't want to look like a softie or whatever so he secretly decorated the house with (stolen) lights overnight and blamed Darry (who went along with it)

Stands outside the house for when carolers come so he can throw things at them :(

Today's musical Christmas song is an entire damn special, featuring none other than Julie Andrews on location in Salzburg (where The Sound of Music was filmed).

The Sound of Christmas was a childhood favorite of mine, and I was delighted when it appeared on Youtube in HD glory a few years ago.

And oh, what's that? You're not a big fan of The Sound of Music? Well this special also includes a suite of songs from Sondheim's A Little Night Music (because why not?) and even Mozart's specially composed "A Christmas Fantasy." (No, really.)

This special is an absolute treat, is what I'm getting at, and you owe yourself a watch. Maybe share with your mom, too.
