Ramallah, May 16, 2024 - Israeli forces physically assaulted and strangled a 14-year-old Palestinian boy in Israeli custody during detention and interrogation. He was kidnapped by Israeli forces, tortured, and then released at an intersection unable to walk, according to Defense for Children International - Palestine (DCIP), an international child-rights movement and NGO.
He was accused of throwing stones.
'Majd R., 14, was detained by Israeli forces around 2:30 p.m. on April 29, 2024 in the Palestinian village of Azzoun, east of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank, according to documentation collected by Defense for Children International - Palestine. He was released the next day, unable to walk, after many hours of ill treatment, torture, and interrogation.
Majd and his friends were walking in the western neighborhood of Azzoun when two Israeli military vehicles approached them.
“We felt very afraid and ran away, but the military vehicles chased us, and one of the military jeeps almost ran me over. I had to stop running, while my friends managed to escape and disappear,” Majd told DCIP. “Around 10 soldiers exited the two military vehicles, pointing their guns at me and started physically assaulting me for 30 minutes.”
“One of them put his boot on my mouth while stomping on my chest with his other boot,” Majd said.'
The military vehicle stopped at an Israeli military checkpoint located at the northern entrance to Azzoun. Majd was taken out of the vehicle, forced to stand still and a soldier repeatedly assaulted him with the stock of his rifle on the chest, head, and waist while directing insults at him.
“I was begging him to stop hitting me but to no avail. He then wrapped his hands around my neck, pressed with all his strength, and said to me in Arabic, ‘I'll kill you by strangulation.’"
Majd passed out and regained consciousness around 5 p.m. and found himself in a room, lying on the ground and surrounded by a soldier, a cat, and a military dog.
“I felt really scared, mostly because the sounds made by the dog were terrifying. I started screaming out of fear because the cat scratched my face many times,” Majd told DCIP. “The soldier said in Arabic, 'I will let the dog eat you.'"
Israeli forces continued torturing Majd until around 2 a.m, slamming his head against a wall several times, causing him to collapse and ask for water, but his request was rejected and they forced him to remain silent.
Israeli forces transferred him to Emmanuel Police Station for interrogation at 3:30 a.m where his tie and blindfold were removed. The interrogator accused him of throwing stones at Israeli military vehicles and then allegedly subjected the boy to physical violence for two hours, forced him to sign an electronic screen with an electronic pen, and tied his hands and blindfolded again, according to documentation collected by DCIP.
The Israeli forces attempted to transfer Majd to Megiddo or Ofer prison around 7:30 a.m, but returned to the illegal Israeli settlement Ariel due to the overcrowded cells in both Megiddo and Ofer prisons. Israeli forces placed him in a yard under the scorching sun.
Transfer of Palestinian detainees, including children, to prisons and interrogation and detention facilities inside Israel or Israeli settlements, even for brief periods, constitutes an unlawful transfer in violation of Article 76 of the Fourth Geneva Convention and constitutes a war crime in violation of Article 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
“I worn out as a result of being deprived of food, water, or access to the bathroom throughout my detention. A soldier poured water on me until my clothes soaked, after which he spat on me,” Majd said.
Majd was released around 12:30 p.m. on April 30 at the intersection of Haris village, near Ariel settlement. He couldn't move or stand and remained lying on the ground until a Palestinian vehicle pulled over and drove him to his village, then transferred him to Azzoun Hospital.
In nearly all cases documented by DCIP, Israeli authorities interrogated Palestinian child detainees without the presence of a lawyer or family member, and children were overwhelmingly denied a consultation with a lawyer prior to interrogation. Israeli forces use coercive tactics, including the use of informants, resulting in children unintentionally making incriminating statements or even false confessions.

i wish the showrunners had the same empathy for azula that they had for toph, let alone for her brother zuko. even her uncle iroh gives up on her.
it's a little like they tried a teenager as an adult and sent her to the state pen instead of juvenile detention. they couldn't even draw her like the actual girl she is.

Maintenance Discipline: Sent to detention room with a reading assignment
Tumblr media
I received another reminder of the ongoing discipline imposed by the revised rules for my behaviour, activities and dress yesterday evening.
In front of other members of our Church visiting our house I was sent to detention to read Autumn Term by Antonia Forest which is a traditional girl's reading book.
I had to remain in detention until I had completed reading the whole book, and answered questions posed by my mother-in-law to ensure I had read the childish novel fully, before being allowed to return and join our visitors.
It was an exceedingly humiliating experience but reminded me again that my childish and selfish misbehaviour means that I am now subject to more ongoing discipline appropriate to my immaturity,

Punitive culture in America is fucking obscene. I saw a legal ad on Facebook asking for clients who were sexually abused in a juvenile detention center here in Maryland as part of a lawsuit against the juvie, and like half the comments are shit like "thank God I was a good kid who knew how to act so I never had to deal with this! 🙏" Or flat out saying these children deserved to be sexually abused because they were criminals.
Americans are all about "protecting the children!" from groomer Boogeyman but if you're the wrong kind of child then you deserve what you get. What the ever loving fuck

December 21 2023 - Suhaib, a Palestinian boy from Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, was detained by Israeli forces for six months without charge or trial.
Video transcript:
"I was administratively detained for 6 months without charges. I was next to the wall. Suddenly, the soldiers noticed me. They fired at me to force me to stop. They rushed towards me and tied me up and started hitting me with their hands and feet. They blindfolded me and tied my hands and feet. They put me under the sun for 4-5 hours. Then I was moved in a jeep between several settlements. The jeep continued moving until one o’clock in the morning. Then I was transferred to prison. During the first 17 days, I was interrogated and brought before courts. The lawyer was telling me that I would be released soon. I have not been convicted of any charges. That’s why I was placed in administrative detention. There was no evidence against me to charge me with. Administrative detention is a form of imprisonment without charge or trial but based on “secret evidence” that is neither disclosed to the detainee nor the detainee’s attorney. When my administrative detention expired, I was happy because I would see my family and loved ones. I was surprised when they brought me a paper stating the administrative detention had been renewed for another 3 months. I returned to my prison bed. It was a difficult moment. I was shocked then. I started spending less time with fellow prisoners. I became less talkative. It is difficult to end your detention, and to receive renewal on the day you are supposed to be released.  When I finished my second detention order, I shaved, dressed, and prepared for my release. At the same time, I was ready to receive news of another extension. I prepared myself not to be shocked. After I was released, my life was ruined. I had a good job and I lost it. Before prison, I intended to complete my education, but my mentality changed and I no longer wanted to. I didn’t want to socialize with people. My life was ruined."
1 in 3 Palestinian child detainees in the occupied West Bank are held without charge or trial. By the end of June 2024, Israeli forces were detaining 226 Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank. 75 are held without charge or trial in administrative detention, which is a record number since DCIP began monitoring child administrative detainees in 2008.

guys what if i want to make my own apollo justice game.
#i need to write a prequel to aa4 pls pls pls pls pls#okay get this: so phoenix isnt disbarred yet and he doesnt have trucy. hes still taking and winning cases#one day he gets a call from edgeworth and hes all like ''wright i need your assistance'' and hes like what for and edgeworth goes#''ive been given the most ridiculous case and i think youre the only man in law who can take care of it''#so phoenix bikes his ass to the detention center and boom. child behind bars#and phoenix is like ??? hey kid what are doing here. and this kid is the most surly mfer on the planet like you couldnt get-#-a word out of him if you tried. hes kinda giving phoenix the stink eye too but hes just the littlest guy on earth#and phoenix feels bad for him so he tries to get a rundown of the case (maybe edgeworth gave him an autopsy report or smth beforehand)#but get this. the kid still wont speak. he hasnt even moved a muscle. and after some prodding you find out this little dude-#-doesnt speak english (i dont love aa6 but i think apollos tragic backstory can be interesting so we're going w that but taking it seriousl#anyways so maya is like omg this kid is speaking khurainese but hers is kinda broken bc shes not from the mainland and only knows it-#-from like prayers#so you only get bits and pieces of the kids testimony. plus he still doesnt wanna talk bc ''dhurk told me not to talk to you''#so you start following the new lead but you ask too many questions and apollos like oh shit i said too much and wont talk to you anymore#but now you have two leads: khur'ain and a man named ''dhurk'' plus the fact that this is kid might be new to america since-#-he cant speak english but is smack dab in the middle of california. its all v curious and phoenix wants to get to the bottom of it#for the rest of the case i feel like it would go in the direction of ''we dont know exactly whats up w this dhurk guy or where this kid-#-came from but we do get him acquitted and phoenix is able to save him from the dark path he was heading towards'' thus steering apollo-#-in the direction of law and giving him a wayyyy better reason than aa6 gave him <3#i kind of like the interlinked nature of ace attorney's storytelling. like everything leads into smth else and everyone is impacted-#-by another person before they even become properly entangled w each other's lives#like how mia faced dahlia years before she met phoenix but dahlia was the one to connect them#or how trucy gave phoenix the diary paper but she's also the one who ropes apollo into the waa. even before they know they're siblings#or how lamoire left apollo and trucy as children and when they reunite as adults they cant recognise each other but they all find each-#-other anyways#i could go on but i think this could be cool yknow esp bc i think the most interesting thing about apollo's aa6 backstory is his life-#-post dhurk. like where did he stay? was he a foster kid? was he put into the system? how did that affect him? what kind of ppl took him in#i just wanna know how that whole thing would have effected him bc like when yiu think about it how did he even get to america?? his dad's#-considered a terrorist. idk man i think its interesting and apollo and dhurks interactions are one of the only good parts of aa6

Actually it makes no sense that Joffry got Ned executed. He was 12, he still had a regent, his mother, who didn’t want Ned to be killed. Why the fuck did see Ilyn listen to him??? Cersei should have had that man killed afterwards

Nah that's the Back-Cracker 3,000. The little basket on the bottom looks like it's for your backpack, but it's actually to rest your feet. The desk is smooth and cold, so a nice place to rest your head when you're inevitably tired from being up late doing your 7 classes x 1 hour each worth of homework after you get home from your 8-4 shift at the corporate prep mine. If you're tall, your backpack loaded with 7 individual 1-inch binders and other supplies like 20 year old text books for each class makes a nice pillow. Rucksack weighing in at 20-30lbs at least for that extra training for the federal fitness test once a year to see if you've got military grunt potential.
Also, a deadly weapon in the hands of a somewhat disenfranchised teenager who is either fed up with their home life, their school ground bullies, or their teacher looking down their nose at them after writing them off for not being able to understand their minimalist lackluster education style.
Or, a barricade the perfect height to fit under the door handle to prevent an active shooter from being able to open the door.
