Maintenance Discipline: Sent to detention room with a reading assignment

I received another reminder of the ongoing discipline imposed by the revised rules for my behaviour, activities and dress yesterday evening.

In front of other members of our Church visiting our house I was sent to detention to read Autumn Term by Antonia Forest which is a traditional girl's reading book.

I had to remain in detention until I had completed reading the whole book, and answered questions posed by my mother-in-law to ensure I had read the childish novel fully, before being allowed to return and join our visitors.

It was an exceedingly humiliating experience but reminded me again that my childish and selfish misbehaviour means that I am now subject to more ongoing discipline appropriate to my immaturity,

I attended Church service last Sunday and Wednesday evening but I am still trying to accept the woollen clothing I must wear under my new rules.

I was wearing knitted grey woollen knickers, knitted grey wool vest, pair of grey woollen stockings, long ankle length wool dress, long well below knee length grey knitted woollen cardigan and a grey wool beret.

I hate woollen clothing and cardigans in particular so having to dress in this manner is a severe penance for me as well as making an example of me from which other young women at our Church may learn so as to avoid the consequences of repeated and selfish misbehaviour.

The thought that I will be dressing like this for every Church service I attend for the foreseeable future is awful but is what I deserve. I am very very regretful of my misbehaviour and I know that I will be suffering this humiliating dress discipline for a long time as a result together with the other restrictions of my new rules.

The pre-holiday yarn sales are making me crazy. I want it all! But, so far, I've been able to remind myself about the excessive stash. No purchases in weeks. Meanwhile...

time to work on WIPs. This sweet cardi has been finished for 7+ months, waiting for assembly. Did the sewing today. Pretty happy with the outcome, if not the pictures.
