jump scared by the 4th Doctor saying "well" with an uncanny intonation to how 10 says it, except I thought that was just a David Tennant-ism considering he does it in everything eventually, like, that CAN'T have started with him copying this cadence and absorbing it into his being? Right?

#I'm a season in on Baker and I understand now #his entire presence is in his voice which is of course impossible to see in random pictures and such #INCREDIBLY deep and rich voice #and while his performance is to me otherwise probably upper-middle-tier so far #the writing has taken a huge jump in quality even while staying in the serial format which sets some pretty dreadful pacing limitations #that have so far been the bane of all 12 seasons I've watched #what with demanding a silly fake cliffhanger 3-5 times a story and thus getting everyone kidnapped and imperilled way beyond common sense #the writing is either good enough to compensate #or they're going less out of their way to move everyone around like chess pieces to be in peril on the dot #and after binging this much of it even one smooth episode transition per serial is a relief #and then of course Baker is delivering all the lines with that sonorous voice and smoothing it all over further #I can see why people would advise starting with Baker simply because the episodes feel more digestible and easy to chew #of course having started at the start #the improvement scale I'm working on is rather warped :P #several B&W era Who I was fully showing up For Science with an anthropology hat on to study 1960s britain #because it was all such a hurdle #this is just like. Acceptable if adorably janky TV by now :P #doctor who

i've noticed a bizarre uptick in people trying to talk shit during matches on lichess which play however you want but this is a game for fun man lmfao but anyways there is nothing more satisfying than people trying to get on your nerves and then watching them try to double back once you win

#i cannot express enough that i am not a very good chess player—though i have improved a LOT over the past few years—but i can play a decent #game and i find it so weird when people go out of their way to be aggressive over a ten minute game on fucking lichess like be so fucking #for real man lmfaooooooooooooo #all i ever say when i win is good game!#but truly the schadenfreude when people are just assholes and then lose is so satisfying #chess

what hobbies are actually screen-free tho

#best i can do is reading and writing but the books i want to read are ebooks and i hate writing by hand #warhammers and card collections are expensive :/ i cant do finicky crafts like knitting or crochet bc joint pain #im not quite close enough to the sea for paddleboarding (but that is something i want to get to)#walking could be good?#im seeing suggestions from reddit on learning to solve a rubiks cube but it seems like id need the Internet to get my head around it #i do have a dartboard to start improving darts but I have nowhere for it #i could 👀 get back to sketching #ppl are also saying martial arts and rock climbing and chess but im not social enough to join a club or anything #i dont like the idea of Making Things either like air dry clay or cross-stitch bc i have nothing to do with it afterwards #wait “holy shit” we can put quotations in the tags now when did that change

I know the reunion concert was literally just 2 days ago but my bros my guys my dudes I miss WATT so so much and I really do want this show Actually Revived because I miss my cheerleaders, pma's stories and music are fucking great and I wanna hear more, watt has so much room for improvement, and I wanna see watt thrive aaaaaaaa

#like i have had my fair share of musicals that Greatly Deserve A Revival (alice by heart (!!!) and love in hate nation (!!!))#but i cheer for watt the most because um well yes it had me hooked in 2021 so im biased #but also because i've spent so much damn time analyzing the damn show #and ive said time and time again that it is a genuinely well crafted show that not only treats the teenage experience with mature respect #(like watt is the only modern-teenage-girl-focused musical that comes to mind that doesnt ridicule its demographic)#but also has a perfectly crafted emotional core (that being the story of vices and grief with annleigh farrah kate and chess)#+ the relationships they all share with one another!#and another reason why i cheer for a revival because i really do feel that show can be improved even further #(i still stand by my 2 yr old rambles that act 2 could be better and that the exploration of guilt with kate annleigh & reese would be nice)#and i really do want watt to improve because frankly the emotional aspects of the show have so much potential!#and lastly: as an aspiring writer and musician i genuinely admire pma and his works so much #and id love to see him become even more successful and prominent in the mt sphere or wherever he wishes to be #anyways yea watt has a special place in my heart and id love to see it officially come back some day #and thats the end of my ramble gotta go bye damn i really am in a 2021 mood #we are the tigers #preston max allen
