It was only a three hour car ride, but that really wasn't the issue you had with it. It was that Voight decided it was you and Antonio who were going to pick up the perp and bring him back for arraignment. You had no issues with long road trips, you had no issue with escorting criminals, and honestly, you had no problems with Antonio either, it was the other way around.

He was always so fucking broody, he avoided you at all costs and you'd caught him rolling his eyes at your suggestion about a case more than one time. Though his terrible attitude didn't deter you in any way, you were still harboring a stupid crush for him, one you were sure would be added to the list of things he would roll his eyes at if he ever found out about it.

"Riding shotgun means I get to control the music right?" You asked, tossing your bag into the backseat as you swung into the car and Antonio let out a huff of a sigh.

"I guess it does." He very reluctantly handed you the aux cord, "please don't play crap that'll make my ears bleed."

"Oh relax, would you?" You plugged your phone in, getting comfortable in your seat as he sprung the car to life, "if you hate something just say so and I'll skip it."

Surprisingly, Antonio didn't have any complaints about the music the first few hours of the drive. He also didn't mind the fact that you were softly singing along under your breath, the tiny smile on your cheeks as your eyes gazed out the window. You'd left your window cracked once you were on the highway, a gentle breeze blowing in through it, causing your perfume to waft over to the other side of the car. Antonio let out a soft sigh at the scent invading his senses and after a little bit it was almost too much for him to handle, pulling over to a gas station with the excuse of a bathroom break.

You'd meandered through the store, picking up a variety of snacks, water bottles and some fresh cups of coffee for both of you before quickly dumping them in the car and taking advantage of the bathroom yourself. When you got back to the car you climbed back in, noticing that Antonio had already dug into the snacks.

"Hey!" You snatched the bag out of his hand with a laugh, "those are my hot cheetos sir!"

"Whoa, thought we were sharing." He laughed back and you couldn't help but smile considering that was one of if not *the* first time a smile of his had been directed at you.

"This is a very small bag Dawson." You dug into the store bag, "besides, I got you your disgusting faved twizzlers." You tossed the bag to him and he caught it with ease.

"Oh wow.. thanks."

"Yeah whatever." You shot him a grin, settling back into your seat, propping you foot up on the dash as you did so. "C'mon, let's get going I'd like to get there in time to get a real meal for dinner."

"You can say that again." He mumbled, ripping open the twizzlers as he shifted the car into gear.

Re-energized and a little bit more awake, you swapped playlists out for one similar, this time your voice getting a little louder than you'd let it before. This time you were surprised when Antonio exclaimed out as a song started, joining in on your antics until you were having a little jam session dance party in the car, followed by much more conversation than earlier.

By the time you finally pulled into your destination you were both laughing, relaxed around each other and honestly looking forward to the next time Voight assigned the two of you for an extradition order.

2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards results

The MTV Movie & TV Awards were produced in a whirlwind of changes during a tumultuous week due to the writers' strike, and a ragtag group of actors were presented with golden popcorn statuettes on Sunday. 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards results With the most nominations among written material, the blockbuster movie "Top Gun: Maverick" is accompanied by the TV shows "Stranger Things," "The Last of Us," "The White Lotus," and "Wednesday." Shows like "Jersey Shore Family Vacation," "RuPaul's Drag Race," "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," and "Vanderpump Rules" led the nominations in the unscripted categories. The Comic Genius Award went to Jennifer Coolidge, and Purple Hearts won for "Come Back Home" as best musical performance. Drew Barrymore had been scheduled to host the annual event, but she said on Thursday that she will no longer be doing it in support of the ongoing writers' strike. Even though part of Barrymore's material had already been recorded before the strike started, the ceremony continued without a designated presenter. Barrymore promised in a statement that she would return to host the program in 2024. The MTV Movie & TV Awards are "pivoting away from a live event" by airing a pre-recorded version of the ceremony in response to reports that striking Writers Guild of America members planned to picket at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar, where the event is being filmed. Executive producer Bruce Gillmer said this in a statement to CNN.
