I am unsure of what character they voice, but I get the feeling it might be an NPC! I don’t rlly want to ask the anon directly though, because they did choose to be anonymous which probably means they want to keep their identity a secret.

That said though, pretty cool that a Genshin VA reads my stuff! I’m starting to feel the embarrassment seep in though, because I’ve said some pretty deranged things on here regarding the genshin women 😅

Thinking about how complicated the relationship between Mithos and Tabatha is in Tales of Symphonia. How Mithos has such conflicting and painful feelings about her, he shouldn't care about this doll that was made to hold his sister's soul, she's just a failed experiment to see if Martel could be revived using an artificial body, she may as well be trash, a broken tool to be thrown away.

But she looks so much like Martel, she was modeled after her, has the same face as his dead sister, and as much as he resents her for failing to be a suitable vessel, he can't help but be comfortable around her. He can't help that when she's in danger his mind goes blank and he pushes her out of the way, she should be disposable and he shouldn't care if something happens to her, but for a single moment that's his sister and she's in danger and he has to protect her because he can't lose Martel again.

He hates her for looking so much like Martel because she was supposed to become Martel and she didn't, she's just one failure in a long list, but when he looks at her he sees his sister and it stirs up all of those positive feelings he associated with Martel, and at the same time he sees how many times he's failed to bring his sister back to life and it infuriates him.

Calling it now. Mufasa: The Lion King will will end with Simba and Nala adopting a second cub, and that the entire story of Mufasa and Scar winds up preparing Kiara for this new revelation about her family.

He'll tear your heart out with his questions and confusion. BadBoyHalo needs someone to bounce his craziness off? Sure, let's be the straight man to Bad's 'give me an inch and I'll take several miles' and carry on a country-building arc for a year. Oh, the server god wants a giant statue of himself and he'll give powers? Why not spend three months agonizing over freehanding some wings in survival. Thrown into a new group of people in this valorant 5-stack? He'll be the one with the weird opener that gets everyone talking and enjoying themselves. Given an introverted child? He delves to the deepest part of his understanding of human emotion to figure out how to relate to her and introduce her to making friends and help her come out of her shell. Friend stops by your discord call to say something in his native language? He'll spend a whole year systematically dismantling that language and trying to build his understanding of it from the ground up until he can read (and almost write!) it pretty well. Friends want to do emotional roleplay? He'll showcase his stunning emotional intelligence and find the most moving lines to get his point across. His ability to yes-and is truly incredible.

Sure, he's silly and goofy and loves making noises. But he always throws everything he has into every situation and that's, I think, why everyone he interacts with tends to love him.

So uhhh, I may have done some serious cooking last night...

After finally revealing Astra to you all, I felt it was imperative that you got to know what she sounds like as well, horn, engine and voice.

The sound file for her horn is SoundDogs, Trains, Horns & Whistles - Train Horn Blasts Short 2X 01. Clean, although those of you fellow Thomas fans might know exactly where else it's used...

I also gave her her own custom variant of the snow horn from S2 for the sake of it.

Her engine SFX are from SoundDogs and Soundelux, mixing the following sound files:

I based her UK voice off of Twinkie Jaiswal, who voiced in the Hasbro series Ricky Zoom, (which I pulled clips from) and also starred in Kidz Bop, Hilda and the Mountain King, and various other roles.

I used x-minus.pro online to clean the voice clips.

to put a long story short: at the end of ffxiv's base game, literally Directly before the beginning of its first expansion (heavensward), there is a series of quests and story arcs that eventually snowball into an hour-long cutscene in which the entire thing comes to a head in the literal worst way possible. like, "the hero's plans all go horribly wrong and several major characters die onscreen, with others going missing (presumed dead), eventually culminating in the player character being framed for the murder of the leader of a nation-state and being Literally Forced To Flee The Country" wrong.

heavensward leads directly on from this plotline. you arrive at the major location of the expansion in the midst of seeking asylum whilst being a wanted criminal everywhere else in the world right now. it's like. A Whole Thing. the game makes such a big deal out of it all. the fandom does as well. and for good reason!! it's a really good moment!!!!!!

and then roughly 1/3rds of the way into heavensward you find out that literally none of it mattered. nobody important actually died, no changes were actually made to the status quo, and nothing comes of being literally kicked out of the country for (what is implied to be) several in-universe weeks, if not months. None Of It Mattered. None.

TLDR; the bloody banquet is a major, exciting, and very infamous twist that seems like it's going to segway into a MAJOR upheaval of the status quo and some really intriguing ramifications for the story as a whole... and then heavensward does away with literally all of that and practically writes the entire thing off as a waste of time.

you may be able to see why i'm so salty about it.
