Fandom Problem #6913:
The term “Minor-coded” should’ve been gone long ago.
A short female adult character is not a minor, she is a short woman.
A female character who wears pigtails similar to Harley Quinn’s and is confirmed to be an adult is not a minor. Pigtails are a hairstyle.
A female character with a cute pastel aesthetic is not a minor. It’s an adult woman who still enjoys bright pastel colors.
A female character who enjoys candy and video games is not a minor, once again, it’s a woman who still enjoys video games and sweets.
A female character who has a petite build (small breasts, small hips and short) is not a minor. She is an adult woman with a petite body type.
See a pattern here? Infantilization of women as well as being sexist and sometimes body shaming women. It sadly did not stop at just fiction however. I saw someone insinuate that a man is a pedo for dating a short woman. Imagine telling a real life short woman that she is only loved by a man because she “looks like a child.”
I hate the term “minor-coding” and it needs to go away. It’s a term that makes no sense at all.

Could Goncharov kill Macbeth?
Okay, I'm really glad you brought this up, since this is a topic that has... kind of come up before on this blog (See: Steven Universe, Zagreus from Hades) but not exactly so I think this is a great moment to address it:
I think that if being a C-section baby counted towards the Unconventional Birth Clause for MacDuff, then it should count for it when a character is delivered posthumously. Since Goncharov is this sort of situation, with his mother Viktoria having died during childbirth (the wording implies that she died slightly before childbirth, but either way it is explicitly said she died in the hospital), he would count towards the Unconventional Birth Clause.
As for the Gender Clause, I know someone is going to bring this up, so let me make this clear: Goncharov saying "I can no longer look in the mirror and see a man" in the balcony scene with Andrey is just him dramatically saying that he is disgusted with who he has become at that point in the movie. He's not saying that he's trans, he's saying that he's a monster/inhuman. You can headcanon this however you want, but the fact of the matter is that in canon, he's just saying he can't live with himself after what he did to Antonio. So, no, Goncharov does not apply for the Gender Clause.
So, long story short: Yes, Lo Straniero aka Goncharov from the eponymous Goncharov (1973) could kill Macbeth!
Tumblr media
He applies for the Unconventional Birth Clause.
Thank you for your submission!

Not anonymous cuz I'm not a pussy.
OK so is it just me or is it SO fucking annoying when stu macher gets turned into this stereotype alpha mf and billy is like a little subby "I love you.. b-but I hate you!!" It's just so like ughh!!! Gag me with a spoon why don't you?
Honestly this happens to both of them in fanon. I think there's a tendency to turn characters into generic archetypes rather than to consider their actually characterization. Especially when we're talking about archetypes around sexual/romantic dynamics and kink, there's a tendency to see a larger person and decide they're the one doing the penetrating, the one in control, being dominant, ect. And vice versa the smaller one is the one receiving, being less dominant.
When you think about it a lot of these associations are very gendered, even when they're applied to same gendered pairings. Masculine = larger, dominant and active, the one who initiates sexual interaction, the one who does the penetrating, and feminin= smaller, submissive and passive, the one who gets penetrated. I constantly see characters being altered to be portrayed more in-line with these kinds of tropes.
Honestly it's just boring to me lmao, but also it doesn't suit these characters the way I understand them. It's a lot more dynamic, exciting and true to life to mix up these dynamic imo. Like a smaller dominant character? Suddenly dominance isn't defined by physical force, the person submitting could chose to flip the script but they don't because they're choosing to give up power.
Similarly, having a submissive person be the initiator is really interesting. It allows for the fun of resistance/ that "I shouldnt" moment without it feeling predatory. The person trying to start things is asking to be hurt, to be used, they aren't trying to use the other person, and I think that really switches the power dynamic.
And again something similar applies to submissive tops and dominant bottoms.
With Billy and Stu what we see in the movie is that Billy is sort of the boss, Stu follows his orders but also Stu is the one who initiates physical contact with Billy in the kitchen scene. For a lot of the movie Billy is either in jail or pretending to be dead (and yes I think he stayed in that room while stu was chasing people around, it would have been a big problem if Sid had gone back up to that room and he wasnt there), so we also have Stu being an active doer. Stu is also the one who begs to be stabbed.
What this says to me about their dynamic is that Billy is the more dominant one, he's the boss, all of what's happening is essentially happening for him. That said, Stu is the more active partner despite being the more submissive one in general.
Even with Billy being the more dominant partner he's not completely in control, he constantly feels like he's being taken hostage by his own emotions and by his desire for Stu, which I think also creates interesting motivation for his need for control. this dynamic is why Billy allows Stu to have slightly more control sexually when he feels more secure and is allowing himself to have feelings for Stu.
But still the way these characters interact with dominance and submission is different because they are different characters. Billy's submission is bratty, he needs to be wrangled, and he talks back the whole time, whereas Stu also talks back but it's all baiting, begging, asking for more, and for the most part he'll follow orders without question. In contrast Stu's dominance is service oriented, its all about making Billy feel good while Billy's dominance uses more degradation (which makes Stu feel good).
Its also worth noting that the nature of their dynamic shifts back and forth over time ( and you'll see more of that happening in WoM), because the characters needs, insecurities, and levels of comfort shift over time. If the dynamic was always the same it would get old and repetitive fast.
At the end of the day fitting complex characters into archetypes isn't going to feel satisfying for most people, and allowing for characterization that expands outside of and mixes tropes from different archetypes results in a more compelling and realistic dynamic.
Alright thats a lot lmao I wrote another essay 😭

the zane body type debate is kind of pointless? canonically, zane's body type fluctuates between seasons/episodes in mys and is never referenced in any other series. unless you're a stickler for timelines, there is no wrong way to draw zane
besides drawing zane with an ass. that's objectively incorrect

Fandom Problem #6606:
Things people in fandom need to remember:
You are responsible for curating your own online experience.
If something upsets you/makes you angry/makes you feel sick, stop reading/looking at it. Avoid the things that you do not like instead of seeking it out to tell people who do like it to stop making it. That does nothing good.
If you hate something, you do not need to tell that to the creators or state it publicly.
Use the back button, it is free to use.
You are allowed to ship whatever you want, but other people are also allowed to ship whatever they want.
While you are entitled to dislike or hate a ship, please be respectful and not put the hate in the tags for that ship.
If you see posts about someone liking a ship that you do not like, you do not need to hop into their DMS/replies and start arguing with them about it. Just ignore them.
Do not harass fan creators or fans for shipping something you disapprove of. If you wouldn't like it happening to you, then they would not like it happening to them.
All the ship stuff also applies to characters.
Be kind and don't be an asshole.
Focus on the things you like instead of actively seeking out content you dislike to bash on the people who do like it.
Stop stirring up petty drama just to get attention. People get annoyed by that and some will call you out for it which will just cause more drama, so it is best to just avoid it entirely.
Please remember that your own experiences in a fandom space are not universally shared. The perceptions you have of something differ from person to person, but it does not necessarily mean either of you are wrong.

its been a while since i read the books but i’ve been enticed by the jaimecat agenda that’s been rising by cat’s detailed attention to gorgeous people. it actually got me thinking about why cat hasn’t said anything about rhaegar’s inhuman beauty knowing how revered he was for it, but then.. i tried to remember anything involving cat or the other tullys at the tourney at Harrenhal at all??
i initially infered that some tullys had to be present but it’s strange because george never mentions it once but also none of cat’s pov have any recollections of the event. after all, she met ned at their wedding and had she attended the tourney, she would’ve met him there. but it’s also weird because harrenhal is riverland territory with the tullys as their liege lords and catelyn’s mom being a whent, herself. i’m of the belief it might have had to do with the lannisters but would it not have been seen as a slight by the whents for the tullys to not attend the tourney? i don’t think anything infers that any of them were there and while there’s nothing proving they weren’t either, i can’t imagine george not including such a detail for a house like theirs. so the more i start thinking about it, the more i’m confused—- is this another George forgot incident?? or is there some validity to their absence?
if so, would it still have been smarter for them to have attended anyway? hoster tully is ambitious, and with so many houses at the tourney it’s crazy to imagine he let this opportunity slide.
As far as we know, none of the Tullys attended the Tourney at Harrenhal. GRRM did not forget (???), there is validity to their absence.
Common theory is that it was due to Hoster being offended about Jaime rejecting Lysa's hand by joining the Kingsguard (which was publicly known, it's recorded in TWOIAF). And since the ceremony for Jaime's induction into the Kingsguard would be happening at Harrenhal, Hoster refused to have himself or his daughter subjected to stares and whispers during the event. (Hoster Tully's pride is stronger than his ambition, easily -- compare Tywin Lannister, who is also ambitious, yet refused to attend the tourney for the same reason.) Though it's possible that Hoster did send some household knights or relatively significant representative so not to appear to be slighting his kinsmen/bannermen.
You can see my fuller discussion of the subject here.
