To Mr Diggory,

Thank you for your letter, you're right, it is really hard for me lately but I feel wrong saying this to you of all people. You lost a son, and I lost a very special friend.

I relate to you in many ways if you don't mind me saying, I too can't seem to shake the image of his lifeless body slumped across the grass, I still hear the music that was playing in the background as if nothing had happened. Everyone cheering expecting Cedric to wave the trophy about in front of us all. I remember looking to Dumbledore in the chaos, thinking that if someone could fix things it would be him, it felt like a brick in my chest rather than a heart when he rushed over to him, startled.

I don't think that moment will ever leave me, always in my mind.

Despite it being too late to do anything for him now, we can make sure that the people who did this to him pay. Voldemort will be defeated, with Harry on our side... despite me hating him for getting Cedric mixed up in this, I know deep down that it wasn't his fault and there's only one man ultimately responsible.

You will already be aware of the package I've sent along with the owl. I attached a few of his things, I searched everywhere I could, the quidditch practise pitch, my dorm, classrooms, for anything he may have dropped or left behind, Dumbledore allowed me to go to his dorm and collect his things. There are a few jumpers, pictures, school books and letters for you, if there is anything I have missed please let me know. I hope you don't mind but I kept a few things for myself - things he'd given me as presents, pictures of us, notes, one of his t-shirt and a jumper, if this is a problem again, let me know. I just need something physical to attach the memories to, you understand of course.

And as for a chat, I'd be more than happy to come over to yours as you've invited me, there definitely are a few stories of how he got on here at Hogwarts I'd be happy to share with you, and I'd love if I could also hear more about him from you.

I've only just gotten used to saying 'was' instead of 'is' when talking about him, doesn't make it feel any less wrong and devastating though, feel like I'm allowing it by saying that, as if I'm accepting it, letting him go... I feel so guilty doing things I know he'd enjoy, yesterday there was a quidditch match, I refused to go and didn't want to entertain the idea, but half way through I had a change of heart. I thought that if I went and I watched the game, somehow, someway, he'd be able to see it through my eyes. I'm glad I did, especially since Hufflepuff won.

A wicked part of me tries to convince myself that it was all a dream, that it never happened, that he never even existed in the first place... because well, now I can't see him it's like the legitimacy of everything we went through is lost, that I made it all up in my head. This is why we can't go quiet about him, we can't let the world forget him, we must talk about him, remember him... when people walk by me in the hallways I know they're talking about him, they go silent when they see me, a look of pity in their eyes, but every single time I stop them and I tell them exactly this, he doesn't deserve to be a taboo topic, he deserves to be celebrated.

I'm sure you've received an owl from Hogwarts a few days ago letting you know about the speech and assembly I've been asked to do with a few of Cedric's friends, Dumbledore has reassured us that we must let everyone know the truth of what happened and not let lies spread, not let his name be associated with that of an 'accident' or 'coincidence'.

Thank you for reaching out to me, I hope we can make things a little easier for each other, I just wish that this was under better circumstances, and I regret that I only met the father of my boyfriend after his death.

no but chat the potential for angst that a cedric x muggle!reader fic has ... you meet him the summer before his sixth year. your time together is short, fleeting, barely two months of seeing each other almost everyday, but you fall so helplessly in love with him. he asks if you could write to each other while he's away because they're not allowed their phones in the boarding school he attends, and it's a bit weird at first, writing handwritten letters, but you go along with it.

his letters are filled with vague details about his time at school. he tells you about this interschool competition he's been selected to participate in, he says it's dangerous but he's been loving every second of it so far so you wish him the best of luck on the footnote of every single one of your letters.

but then, the letters stop. a week goes by without cedric sending a reply to your letter, but you hold out hope that maybe he's just caught up in his studies or that competition, even though he always tells you if he'll take a little longer to reply.

summer comes and you haven't heard from him in two weeks, but you're still hoping, wishing with your fingers crossed twice that cedric is gonna magically pop up in the booth you usually occupy at that cafe down the street. that he'll come and finally tell you more about the tournament he joined like he promised he would in one of his letters.

you have no idea that he's dead, that all it took was a flick of a wooden stick and half a second to end his life. he's never told anyone about you, not even his parents, so you're left in the dark for the rest of your life, forever wondering what happened to the boy you've given your heart to over the summer.

The Astronomy Tower

Everyone was talking about two things: how the Dementors were on the train and how Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban.

I could feel many people staring and pointing at me over and over. The girls in my dorm were sound asleep, but I couldn't sleep, so I slipped out of the bed and went to the astronomy tower.

"What are you doing out of bed?" asked a male voice as I started out into the open sky.

"I couldn't sleep," I responded as I turned around to see a boy.

He was tall and had dark brown hair with pale skin.

"You look like a cupcake," I said.

"In a delicious way or in a look kind of way?" the boy asked, smiling.

"Both," I responded, turning my back towards him.

"What's your name?" The boy asked, coming to stand beside me.

"Lupin-Black, Amalia Lupin-Black, yours?"  I said, looking over at the boy.

"Diggory, Cedric Diggory," the boy said, smiling at me.

"What year?" I asked, feeling a smile grow on my face.

"6th, you?" he said, turning towards the night sky.

"2nd, House?" I asked, wanting to get to know the boy.

"Hufflepuff, you?" he said, turning back to look at me.

"Slytherin," I responded, staring at his face.

He let out a chuckle.

"What?" I said, smiling almost laughing at myself.

"You won't stop staring at me!" he said, smiling.

"I can't help it!" I explained, throwing my hands in the air.

"Why not?" he asked, laughing.

"Because you're cute," I said, taking a step away from him.

After I said this, his smile fell, and I realized that I had said the wrong thing.

"Sorry," I mumbled, looking at the ground, running back to my dorm.

"Amalia, wait," Cedric called out after me, but it was too late.

you know maybe there's some fun irony you can pull with Cedric/Percy where Cedric still dies

because if we are going a Cedric going behind Cho's back situation (or like if he was just never actually with her or a beard situation or just an outright au where it just didnt happen)

then you have Percy's first girlfriend almost dying

and then his boyfriend legit dying

and then if you choose to put him with another person who dies/has something bad happen to them (Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Stan, Anyone you just want to have die that we don't know the fate of )

(Or if you want to be really spicy Colin, where Colin and Dennis end up staying with Percy while they are on the run because of that fun Percy hiding people in his own flat concept that I really like and like Colin develops feelings from the close contact even though nothing really happens leading to an even more fucked situation where Percy's been keeping him at arms length for a lot of reasons but a small part of him hoping it will help keep him safe and that failing anyway)

Can I just say? Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom are every stereotype of Hufflepuffs when Cedric Diggory and Tonks are what being a hufflepuff actually is. Luna is overly nice at time and Neville is a plant lover and to a lot of people, that is all Hufflepuffs are. In reality, they are just like Tonks and Cedric. Cedric is the one that got chosen to participate in the Tournament, not Harry. Harry only got in because the cup was tricked. And Tonks is an amazing auror without being rude or strict. They have their own personalities even when they are being defined by their house traits. Even Cedric's friends are seen making fun of Harry with the "Potter Stinks" badges. Ravenclaws are often seen as smart and only smart. Neither Ravenclaw nor Hufflepuff are getting much representation solely because Gryffindor is the 'best house' and Slytherin is the 'evil house'. I'm so sick of the movie fans not seeing that these four houses are so much more than just their house traits and what people think they are. Just because a lot of dark wizards end up in Slytherin doesn't mean that all Slytherins are evil. there are so much misunderstood Slytherins and dark wizards that belong in another house. Gryffindors are seen as the main characters because of Harry's pov. I mean, just look at Narcissa. She is a Slytherin but she is also a mother that would do anything for her son. She even lied to a mind reading dark lord. Regulus Black and Draco Malfoy are living proof that Slytherins are misunderstood and they only become death eaters because their parents force them to. Hermione, despit being the smartest one, was put in Gryffindor, not Ravenclaw. While the hat did want to put her in Ravenclaw, it settled on Gryffindor because it made her go much farther. Being smart, being kind, being brave, and being ambitious does not confine you to one house.

Here's what happened: This character, Neil was like hot asf- So I googled Tenet's cast and found out Neil was acted by Robert Pattison. (Now simultaneously I was also watching this clip of HP and thought that Cedric looked actually good.) Anyways, I click on Robert Pattison and get these hot pics of his.. I scroll a bit and come to the movies. Then it happens...
