I saw a post somewhere that each of the companions' personal quests have to do with the main quest - Gale wants/knows about the Crown of Karsus, Shadowheart is involved with the shadow-cursed lands and therefore Ketheric Thorm, Wyll's connection to Duke Ravengard leads you to Enver Gortash, same as Karlach, Lae'zel guides you to the githyanki/Astral plane side of things and by extension you learn more about your Dream Visitor, everyone has a main plot relevant quest-

except Astarion.

His personal quest is very personal but has nothing to do with the Absolute, unless you view his being able to walk in the sun as motivation for growing your illithid powers.

And I've been thinking about it and I'm pretty sure that's on purpose. Astarion is in the party to be loved; you wouldn't have any reason to want to keep the tadpole in your head otherwise.

I'm not saying Astarion/Tav is canon but it is tho.

I was rereading dunmeshi and was reminded of the dryad lifecycle and I just. The amount of things in this manga that makes complete sense but also none at all. Keeps me awake at night tbh. Can’t get enough. What’s ur fav complete bonkers fact from the series?

No joke the first thing I remember questioning in dungeon meshi is the explanation for Falin always having her eyes closed, I was like "what do you mean she's always squinting cause shes near sighted, where's her glasses" meanwhile I was squinting at my screen without my glasses on.

Anyway, I think my favorite bonkers monster explanation is the Red Dragon, they click their tongues to ignite fuel, eat their prey whole so they produce pellets and use that for ignition too, all the dragons tbh, I had a major dragon phase when I was a teen so it's really satisfying seeing more animal-like Dragons that just make so much sense (even tho they're also absurd, as dragons are)

Oh boy, I sure can't wait for Intervallo 7.5, where the bus goes on yet another wacky roadtrip while the gang goes to Hong Lu's home district and learn about his extremely complex family dynamic and the many many references to the original novel, it's multiple remakes, and/or the series adaptation.

The next Walpurgis is most likely the Safety Team with Netzach as the next Announcer; and the next LobCorp IDs might connect to Abnormalities of denial, blissful ignorance, or the constricting force of family (Queen of Hatred, Queen Bee, Void Dream).

Even if the Sinners adjust to the fact that one of their members is a Second Kindred Bloodfiend, everyone keeps eyeing Outis just in case she tries to kill Don mentally or physically. She's still salty about the "betrayal" of having a definite threat in their ranks and were possibly waiting to backstab them at any moment (...Did something happen with Eurylochus, Outis?).

And even if she's also adjusting to a modernish life without the fanatic belief in Fixers, Don Sancho Quixote the Second reads them the riot act on their multiple attempts to prove she's a "real vampire" and committing elder abuse: shining light in her eyes or putting her in direct sunlight, putting garlic in her food, Dead Butterfly's coffin and Hundred Sins cross mace in her face cause Christian symbol or possible vamp bed, chasing her with a water bottle or spray bottle, so much water, so much water...

Okay, so the other day I made this post about an ISAT au I made/am working on, and I honestly wanted to ramble about it a little (lot) more.

So, in the previous post, I mentioned that I would get into the whole WHY Siffrin would be able to remember, (cause to me there does need to be an actual reason) and my current base idea is pretty much a wish gone gone very wrong, but also right?

Basically, I imagine that maybe Siffrin always had a bit of a bad memory, or maybe they were just anxious and didn't want to forget something important, so they made a wish along the lines of “I wish to never forget anything again.” or something like that, and the Universe, being the Universe taking the path of least resistance, just makes it so Siffrin physically cannot forget any information they are given again.

Obviously they can push information to the back of their mind, ignore it, differentiate between true and false information, and things like that. But they are physically unable to forget information.

Doesn't matter if they get a concussion, they're black out drunk, brain damage, sleep deprivation, ect. They WILL remember, and I honestly think that's a little more horrifying when you think about it.

Especially cause like, yeah they won't forget good things, their home, and things like that, but they also won't forget any horrifying or traumatic things that happen to them. No matter how much time passes, those memories will always be there, fresh in their mind. And that, at least to me, is not something I would be happy with.

Now, how this left Siffrin unaffected by whatever caused everyone to forget about the Forgotten Island existing, is kinda simple. As I said before, Wishcraft, and the Universe as a whole seem to take the path of least resistance, so when someone (or many, many someones) made the wish to make the forgotten island disappear (this just my guess and head cannon btw, I don't think it's confirmed what happened to the forgotten island), rather than negating Siffrin's wish that had been made earlier, or negating the wish to make the forgotten island disappear, it simply just went around Siffrin cause they are one person out of likely millions, if not billions of people.

But yeah, that's my basic idea for how the heckity heck Siffrin remembers their island.

The Matt as a father made my heart brr.

It does make me wonder what Jane and Matt would want in their future? Whether it’s just a cat, bird, or a bunch of turtles from a sewer. Or maybe just no animals and just them and their friends. I’m curious

TY! It was definitely a warm and fuzzy post! I see no reason we can't acknowledge the difficulties he'd have as a parent (both as someone with trauma and as something with super senses), because it makes all the time, love, and effort he'd put in that much more meaningful. And God knows he'd love that kid with everything in him.

And oooh, this is a fun question! So I will say they are going to eventually get a cat (I did a oneshot about it a while back and it did well, and since I'd kinda always wanted to bring a cat into TRT, we're going to roll with it with some adjustments). That's going to become TRT canon! Ciro always had cats so Jane has a nostalgia for them, and that cat will also be a vehicle to help process some of her trauma (I haven't delved heavily into it yet, but her vague mentions of cats being 'fellow subjects' while she was held by Cyrus James will tie into this). Likewise, I'm on team, Matt needs a cat. I believe it would be really helpful for his mental health to have this little animal who just adores him, all these happy little purrs and cuddles, and a reminder that Matt's allowed to nurture something good, he's not going to kill whatever or whoever he touches. Matt's got his own emotional hangups there, but he'll work through it like Jane does. And once they're in that boat, I see them as always having at least one cat around, if not two.

The one thing in this arena that I won't ever make official TRT canon about their future is whether they wind up with kid(s) or not. That's something I feel is incredibly personal and so I want to leave that open for people to decide themselves - do they have no kids? Just one? An entire football team? Your choice! I'll support it all as potential options, and in each of those? They're happy, whether that's the two them growing old and sitting in their red rocking chairs, having lived a long, happy life with their friends and cats and the Nelson clan who sees them as family, or as two parents to a herd of much loved kids and eventual parkour inclined grandkids.

That said, I did have the hilarious idea for a short What If oneshot involving them and their potential five-year-old daughter, who would be the bane of the principal's existence due to her penchant both for swearing and for questioning the justice of various school rules she does not agree with. But I'd mark that very clearly as a What If, and not as canon. It would just be a fun thing for me to explore because I think it would be hilarious.

I think something that for me really sets aside Jack & Joker from other Thai dramas is its narrative structure. Thai dramas usually have a very simple narrative structure where things just keeps happening without a proper flow - I mean, something happens, it gets resolved, and then something new happen that keeps the story move; you know, all those little problems that aren't really all connected together (like, the main characters get together and then someone new appears that comes in between them; or it turns out that, idk, the family was homophobic all along, or that one of the characters actually had a complicated relationship with their family - things like these that are disconnected).

Maybe it's because Jack and Joker has a pretty solid and complicated plot, but something that I really love about it is the way everything that happens is connected, everything is a direct consequence of the characters' actions. It's like this since the first episode until the last one - the plot is brought forward by the characters' actions, everything they do has consequences on everything and everyone else. Like, Joke seeks Jack's forgiveness, so he wants to steal the ring for him, and he works with Tattoo and Hoy -> Tattoo steals the necklace which causes problems for everyone -> they need to steal the necklace back -> Jack meets Rose again, which causes everything else to happen, etc etc

Everything is connected. And I think it all comes back to one of the series' themes, which is that everything we do has consequence, that even if out intentions are good we can't predict what our actions will cause; that we live in a community and that we cannot think about ourselves only bc every time we do something that can end up influencing someone else's life. that we can't be selfish in a community.

sorry to say but the maker-fledgling/parent-child relationship dynamics make DM so much juicier. and i don't mean that in a kinky way in the slightest i mean it's insane to be adamant about never having a child for 500 years, break that vow on a whim and then be a deadbeat dad for a bit. and also on the more lighthearted and sappy side of things it's really interesting for a dying man in his 70s to be given another shot at life, with eternity ahead of him and the power of an ancient in his veins to inherit over the course of that eternity. idk idk! it's just neat.
