Heya! I’ve finally decided to make a Discord server for all the GHOS fans out there.
I’ve seen some people asking if there’s a GHOS Discord server but unfortunately there was not so I finally made one.
I’ve always wanted to join a GHOS Discord server for years now but never existed and I had always wanted to make a Discord server for a long time now so this GHOS server should count as my first-ever made server.
Feel free if you’d like to join the server, it’s open for everyone. Enjoy ;)

Hey, I saw your post about how well various DC heroes fuck and was wondering why Batman was so high given the infamous no eating pussy mandate?
(Sorry if this is rude)
okay so when pussygate™ happened literally EVERYONE on the internet knew about it like there were news articles about this shit zack snyder posted fanart of batman eating out catwoman on twitter every mutual i had was experiencing a life-or-death adrenaline rush live on the tumblr dash and the conclusion i came to after three consecutive days of this freakshow was that no one actually believed that batman didn't eat pussy. this whole drama started because the higher ups in dc made the harley quinn tv show get rid of a joke about batman sucking puss because they thought it'd sell less merchandise. famously, "heroes don't do that," aka the phrase that launched a thousand explicit batcat fics on ao3. that's literally the only justification and considering that a) it's not representative of actual popular opinion and b) batman's somewhat notorious dating history in the comics.....it has to be said that he's a good fuck.
plus this article by cathy herbert (written in the voice of bruce wayne) has made it impossible for me to imagine him being bad at sex like it's just way too fucking good:

when u said 'they want armand to be lestat' it floored me tbh, i never thought of it that way. bc armand stans are obsessed w/ framing him as lestat's morally superior narrative counterpart & i didn't twig that they were ironically upset bc the writers gave him a brand of bullshit distinct from lestat's, but there u go! obviously lestans are just as bad wrt peddling idiotic 'lesser of evils' rhetoric, but w/ armand some folks latched onto him specifically bc he was Not lestat & crafted a fantasy version of him from the ground up on the basis of how very Not-lestat he was (which made him being an abuser extra awkward bc they had to willfully unlearn critical thinking before our eyes & resort to textbook lioncourt abuse apologia to justify themselves w/out a hint of irony.) & sure…most of us cooked up self-indulgent theories ahead of s2 that got proven wrong, i did it too, but some got so drunk on headcanon they couldn't engage w/ the text anymore, so i figured that's why they perceived the ep8 reveal as more of a rug-pull than it actually was. ngl i still kinda think that. but ur right, they'd probably be cool abt armand lynching claudia if was a grand scheme to 'keep louis all to himself' bc the scale of his abuse matters less to them than the motive behind it. louis being flat-out disposable to him was a dealbreaker bc it couldn't be romanticized. & that's why they felt so inordinately cheated when lestat saved louis, complaining it was a cheap redemptive act on the writers' part, when it was actually so clear that he & armand were both acting in line w/ their own selfish needs as ever. as u said, neither one is more noble or moral than the other, they just have different priorities & their choices reflect that. anyways i'll stop ranting now, sorry for the lengthiness, this one really ran away w/ me!
No exactly exactly!!! agree w everything u said here Love how u put that last bit about neither of them being more noble or moral just having different selfish needs. and armand's are not particular to louis. and same i was coping hard until ep 4 like i literally . can find the texts of me being like "i think louis does like him though..." 12 hours later "nevermind you were right." bc i .. processed the show...and it is actually moree interesting like if BOTH lestat and armand had the same motives and priorities it would be a little repetitive. but armand is his own unique horror. which is also a very blasé horror!! and structuring it this way where the "love triangle" is not actually be a meaningful triangle at all is so Gothic Romance like Linton is not seriously on the same plane as heathcliff in cathy's mind. St john is not on par w rochester. and rochester is not the more benevolent lovely option but st john. IS BORING.

The Woman's Part
Sooo hey. I finally did something with my Shakespeare MA...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Woman's Part is a collection of original prose and erasure poetry inspired by Shakespeare's women — their unlived lives, unspoken desires, and unwritten stories — using speeches and characters from thirteen plays.
It's been described as:
"A small piece of genius [showing] not only a profound understanding of Shakespeare, but of humankind in general." — Cathy Ulrich, author of Ghosts of You
and
"[The Woman's Part] has reimagined Ophelia and Juliet and more into striking freedom through speaking up, sailing away, and eating hearts." — Gwen Kirby, author of Shit Cassandra Saw
and
"To read it is to join the rebellion. An affecting and finely-crafted masterpiece which invites us to unlearn our deepest Bard-based archetypes. Stunning, incisive and fearless writing from one of the most exciting new voices on the literary scene." — Dr Chris Laoutaris, The Shakespeare Institute
~
I put my heart, my rage, and all my obsession with Shakespeare into this, and I would love for you to read it.
Available from most places you get books — a list of easy links at Stanchion Books

What have you done FITA!
GUESS WHAT I JUST READ! A GOOD, HORRIFIC BOOK. How can something be so gothic and so old money 1920's and so steeped in the 80s at the same time? The feeling of the mish-mash of time periods makes the reader (me) feel more unsure and emotionally gaslit by the whiplash of the senses this brings! There's television sets, but the house is very much a lavish deco? It's just enough to set a precedent that this is very much a recounted story - just as it is written - and not a present telling of the story. What I mean by that is the story is not of a girl living through the future, but a woman telling a grand audience of her and her life like it were as poetic as it were traumatic. I felt as though I was sitting in a theater to bare witness of a craft of one desperate martyr. And what a grand martyr she is. Was? I have yet to read petals in the wind.
Several times throughout the read I had to pause because of the actions of the grandmother and of Corrine. Cathy's retelling pierced my soul and left a metal branding loop on the edges, which tore some not so pleasant memories from it like it were made of flesh and it, a fork. Messy, congealed in time's past goop, covered in a wall of dust of the forgotten. Cathy's emotions of fear and confusion and resentment and love were expressed so well. Her relief of freedom, and the subsequent irony of her entrapment made me believe her every word. I clung to them like they were old friends.
I devoured this book within 10 hours. The pages of my copy were thin, like many lesser quality bibles. My copy is also a duel-book. Smashed together are the tales of both the first and second volumes of the Dollanganger family series. The text was small, about a .5 spacing between the lines. It made me squint, but not from the text formatting. It was from the actions of the characters, the words of deceivers, the words of lips that kiss upon fate and death and blood.
Oh this book. I felt every line like it were a knife cutting into skin, like scissors slicing flesh on accident. Surprising. Jarring. Painful, pulsing, heart throbbing from the shock. My heart did flips of dread from the horrors these children went through, all because someone wanted to bury their grief in money. Oh I wish to purge how rectifying it was to read this and therefore reflect on personal matters.
I do not recommend this read for the feint of heart. If your nerves break from the psychological horrors of the real, scummy world, then I am afraid this book is not for you. If you're for the maddening staircase of pungent gothic wrath - then by all means. Read it.

*i'm very sad, so my lovebirds came to support me*
Buggy stepped into the bedroom, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken emotions. He immediately spotted Catherine curled up in her favorite chair, her face marred by teardrops that seemed to tell a story of their own.
"Hey! What happened, Cathie-pie?" Buggy asked, his voice laced with concern.
In an attempt to appear composed, Catherine wiped her cheeks and glanced up at him, offering a shaky smile. "Nothing, my love. Everything is fine."
But the quiver in her voice betrayed her, and Buggy could see the remnants of her sorrow lingering in her eyes.
"You're wiping your eyes. Is that because of me? Did I do something?" Buggy pressed, his worry intensifying as he approached her.
The tension in the room was palpable, and Catherine let out a soft giggle, trying to ease the heavy mood.
"You weren’t home all day, my silly clown, how could you do anything?" Her playful jab did little to mask the sadness that hung around her. "I don’t know, I’m sad," Catherine admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Why?" Buggy asked, slowing his steps as he took the chair beside her. The question lingered, as did Catherine hesitation to answer, and Buggy’s heart ached for the woman he loved.
"I don’t know. Just sad. I’m sorry, I didn’t want you to see me cry. You were supposed to be the only crybaby in our family." With that phrase, a smile broke through Catherine's tears, a reminder of their shared moments and the playful banter that defined their relationship.
"Little shit!" Buggy chuckled, shifting closer to her.
He sat down and gently placed his hand on Catherine's back, feeling the warmth of her presence. In an instant, Catherine buried her face into his chest, seeking comfort, while clasping his hand tightly.
"What's wrong, cotton candy?"
"I don't know." Catherine shrugged. "I guess I missed you. You're busy with the preparation for your mini tour, and I hardly see you."
"And that's why you're crying in broad daylight?" Buggy kissed her in the head. "You can come to my circus."
"No, no!" Catherine shook her head. "The circus is banned. Do you remember what you did last time? This is unforgivable."
"Oh, believe me, I remember. It was so-o-o good." Buggy giggled idiotically.
Catherine gently punched him in the shoulder.
"Ouch! For what?"
"For your long tongue, pervert!"
"I've heard this somewhere before." Buggy exhaled. "Okay, I'll stay home tomorrow. I'll text everyone to rehearse without me."
"No, you should go." Catherine wrapped her arms around his waist. "You're the great showman Buggy the Clown and you run that magic place."
"The great showman will stay home and entertain his princess." Buggy poked her gently in the nose.
"Still princess? What do I need to do to become a queen, Buggy?" Catherine laughed. "But thank you. And I love you. And our bedroom. This is our place where sadness could be shared and laughter could heal, right?"
"Right." He nodded.
Buggy knew perfectly why she and he loved their bedroom, it was a familiarity in their banter, a rhythm built on countless moments of love and understanding. It was here in their sanctuary that they navigated the ups and downs of life together, crafting their own narrative amid the chaos of the outside world.
"Oh, I know how to cheer you up." Buggy kissed Catherine's head. "Do you want to go on your stupid walk?"
It was a playful jab, a nod to their routine, yet the warmth in his eyes spoke of genuine affection and a desire to see her smile. He watched as her expression transformed, a spark igniting within her.
"Really?" Catherine broke into a smile. "I do! I really do! I love walking with you!"
With a swift motion, Catherine leaned in and kissed Buggy on the nose, a gesture so sweet it wrapped around his heart like a warm blanket. "Oh! Oh! Can we go to my favorite cafe and buy me a chocolate cake?"
"Okay." He nodded.
"What about lemon cake? I want lemon cake too. Can you buy it too?"
"Okay. We have a lot of money, cotton candy, I can buy you all the cakes in the world."
"Yay!!! Then I'll just change now and we can go! Love." Smack. "Love, love, love you!" Smack. Smack. Smack.
"Geez! Stop doing it, woman! Or the deal is off!" Buggy pretended to be dissatisfied, although he would never admit in life that he loved these moments of her expression of feelings. "Go and get dressed!" He slapped Catherine on the butt.
Catherine jumped up from her chair with a squeal, kissed him on the nose again and ran to the closet. The thought of indulging in a sweet treat while spending time with her favorite clown made her bounce slightly on her toes, radiating joy that seemed to fill the room. Buggy laughed, knowing full well that in their world of shared sadness and laughter, a simple walk and a piece of cake were little treasures, reminders of the love they had nurtured.
Buggy watched out of the corner of his eye as Catherine pulled on a t-shirt with a bunny in a corn-shaped hat and didn't know how to stop smiling.
"I hate these damn walks." He thought.
