So @somerandomdudelmao made a version of their sona in a dystopia (inspired by @tapakah0 doing the same to theirs) and the person in this ask named the robot C.A.S.5 and I thought, ‘well then there’s at least four other C.A.S. units out and about in the world’ leading to this being the end result! It was a lot of fun to come up with the different customizations each C.A.S. unit has.

also, the design for C.A.S.4 (Cash) was partially inspired by @mobiitez post.

I feeeeel like I should say it in plain english but no matter what I say, I Dont Hate Sam Re*d. But, I despise how much this fanbase feels the need to step on every other actor/character to prop him up, and cry about bullying him when bringing up that he's barely in this season compared to the Four Other Principle Cast Members. I can love and appreciate his performance, and be excited for the next season, while also believing that he didn't deserve this nom over the rest of the cast. And that this nomination (and possible win) comes because the critics/academy/AMC themselves/general powers that Be, devalue the craft of people of color, whom the story would not have a foot to stand upon without.

stranger things season one 2016 was so fucking incredible. it exists as an entirely different entity to me than the rest of the show. you literally just had to be there. to this day nothing has ever come close to the amount of universal love for a fictional story that stranger things first received. ive been chasing this high for eight years.

he’s been rotting in the drafts for months bc im still not 100% about their design 😭

i’ve been back and forth between making them a 3rd yuu or just an oc but i finally settled with the latter

anyways some work-in-progress facts about them that may change:

his name is yuuyu laya (he/they) (he’s not yuu/mc but a 2nd year ramshackle student who transferred from diasomnia)

double yuu,,, “w”???

he’s also somewhat inspired by peter pan and wendy

doubleyu was fascinated by the infamous prefect who almost had the same name as them and wanted to keep up with their shenanigans and then just transferred to ramshackle in his second year

(yuu/mc “went home” after the first year and ramshackle’s current prefect/housewarden is grim <- lore i still need to figure out)

gets compared to the “original yuu” a lot

w is mute (he doesn’t choose to be, he literally has no voice) so he only makes whatever noises he can make with his body (whistling, finger snaps, tongue-clicking, etc.) or maybe he uses things like small bells to get other people’s attention (in relation to the fact that fairies sound like little bells to humans in the movies)

human raised by fae but sucks at magic (it was a miracle they got into diasomnia)

quite the macgyver, able to craft things seemingly out of anything but he’s insecure about it thinking it’s stupid that’s the only “good” thing he can do

spelldrive club bc flying??? (maybe loves the thrill and competition bc at least that’s something to be “worth” recognized for especially that he’s terrible at magic)

unique magic would be something like “faith, trust, and pixie dust” or something about the tinkerbell fairy movie lore about the baby’s first laugh giving birth to a fairy

Will portrait redraw, with a couple extra additions, including: longer hair, some little scars, little bright purple/pink thorns if you look closely, a pin like the ones on the prince's collar, and little bits of black magla like the corpses/fucked up people you find on the ground in cities.

We'll eventually do redraws of the rest of the cast's portraits, but for now. the elda boy

Duel Links Re-Translation Mod Project (Announcement post I guess?) - Dark Yugi In-Duel Line Re-Translation Test (WIP)

So. For the longest, I've been hella curious to figure out where the text for Duel Links is in the file assets, the in-duel lines in particular--as I'm sure most folks know, the English dubtitle text applied for the English dialogue is, nine times out of ten, inaccurate or decently simplified vs the Japanese audio played on the same line, and it's a bit wild that we still don't have a second English option for a more faithful take this long after Konami gave us the Japanese voices natively on Steam and made modding the game to get them a thing of the past. But for all my occasional searching through the files, I had little luck due to encryption and junk; at some point in September, I got curious and did more digging and was able to find some card text, at least, but nowhere near as much as is in the game now, and still no dialogue lines.

And then, 2-3 weeks ago, I saw that Aura (Octomaidly over on Twitter, part of @entamesubs handling Studio Bridge-era YGO fansubs for SEVENS+) had been working with a couple of folks to decrypt and re-translate the in-duel lines for SEVENS characters and came across her video on Twitter sharing her progress; I immediately reached out to find out how they're doing it and mentioned how I'd like to try and re-translate pre-SEVENS stuff, lol. (You can watch her latest video demoing her re-translation for GO RUSH world here; find her work as it develops on the NexusMods page for it.)

After connecting with Aura and the folks helping her and getting set up to work on things, I set up a quick re-translation for Dark Yugi's lines, had it all imported for a test-run, and recorded this demo test vs Kaiba to see 'em in action; I did fix a few things since recording this, like some line breaks here/there, but also fixed the one mention of "Dark Magician" in the cut-in shot since this was a test of my OCG-name translation (more on that below) and thus "Black Magician" should've been there--but all told, it looks pretty good overall!

All that to say that this is now another lil' project on my list 😅 It's very cool that this is finally doable and I'm looking forward to working with Aura and co to make it happen--though do note that it'll be at a bit of a slower pace since work on my finalized GX subs (currently revision work on 117-119 is underway) and Tag Force Special is a bit higher priority. That said, the nice thing is that working on in-duel lines in TFSP kinda does half my work for me here, lol; maybe half of Dark Yugi's lines, for example, are recycled verbatim from TFSP--the only difference being that Shunsuke Kazama is actually voicing him--with the rest being lines newly added for him in DL, from lines for dueling other characters to cards he didn't have lines for in TFSP, and this should be the case across the board for anyone who showed up in TF[SP].

My intention is also to work on two translations: one with OCG card names and one with the TCG names, as we're doing with TFSP, and I'll be starting this off by working on the first five characters from each series that appeared in TFSP, since that's how I'm working on the story events there (so for DM, working on Dark Yugi, Kaiba, Jounouchi, Ishizu, and Mai first), and then once done through VRAINS, that might probably be the first version of the mod I'd release. Or maybe I'll release a version as I get each set of five done; we'll see lol. I do plan to contribute my translations to Aura's project, as well. (Also we just recently dug up event dialogue text so those will be re-translatable, too; doing this for the older series' events that likely won't get reruns will at least be worth it since you can spend Gems to get those event scenes)

But overall, it's pretty encouraging--stay tuned!

while mostly known in the public conscious now for its shock value, there is something to be said about the effectiveness of The Ducktators--comedic or effectiveness in propaganda--in that it still makes the rounds 82 years later. through its cinematic grandiosity, sharp humor, self indulgence, and directorial confidence, it's safe to call Ducktators Norm McCabe's sharpest film. a praise he would probably hate, given that he showed clear discomfort with his films later on in his life. as inferred through the title, the short burlesques the rise of the Axis powers and enforces a powerful but resounding message that is still as relevant today as it was in 1942: Hitler sucks.

Jayden's stream today was soooooo good, one of my favorites yet! Love the chat, always feel so happy after his streams. Even though Until Dawn was objectively terrifying, it was still so much fun to watch and Jayden did really well!

Also I'm quite elated that he answered my question about haunted houses; unsurprisingly he does not seem to like them lmao (he hates jump scares, should have known). 😂

DMX came into my life today and although WFMT had to step aside to make way it is an incredible revolution in home entertainment. I can see now an easy jump away from radio as we know it to this cheap non commercial format. Soon, probably, there will be cable videos…just push a button and they play. Video stores which now proliferate will disappear, as will CDs and records, all will be cabled in. Dad , tonight, said TV phones are coming. A call comes in and the caller pops up on your TV screen. 

And Utne Reader Magazine said that, per astrologers, 1993, because of planetary conjunctions, promises to be a year of revolutionary world wide change for the better. Vast eras of hate have ended in the past when these conjunctions took place. The last, in 1821, saw the end of the Spanish Inquisition that had lasted 400 years. It was like our witch hunts which have lasted 300 years at least
