Leadership Development
Week #3
What was happening that made it a high performing team?
Tumblr media
I was a part of a high performing team once when I was playing a national level cricket match. Each member in my team including me was profoundly energetic and we as a whole confided in one another very soon. This was the reason we couldn't just get into finals yet in addition won it. We as a whole shared a common objective amid our matches, we as a whole arranged as needs be and dependably make systems on our methodology towards the objective. Every one was talented, exceptionally energetic and they all were clear into their brains about what they need to achieve and how they will do as such. There was no absence of trust and objectives were additionally evident that was the most essential motivation behind why group was performing on more elevated amount and could get wanted outcomes.
What was your contribution to the team development?
Tumblr media
Actually, I played a lot of cricket matches in my life as a captain so what I believe when you are exposed to different people with different mindsets and ideas, at times you get quite familiar with the ways to interact with someone with different perspective and ideology.
This thing helped me a lot so to know all the members in a better way and build a strong team where everyone trusts their partners, I personally started conversations with them, started cracking jokes so that I could get their attention then I listened to their achievements and told mine. Doing all this helped me and my teammates to open up and now we all were on the same ground where we could trust each other. This was my contribution in building team.
As you look back at this team now what might you change about the team and your role in the team? Why?
Tumblr media
Although the team I was a part of few years ago was great coz we were getting the results we all wanted but there are some changes I wish I could make
• Not everyone was present for practice coz they felt they are all very good at the game, I feel it should have been made compulsory for everyone as this could bring team members more close in less time
• Most of the team members were not punctual which is must
• Discipline is a key to success, although we succeeded as well but I believe we lacked in discipline
• And if I talk about changes in my role, I would say at some certain points I was not treating all members equally. I tried to be fair as much as I possibly could be but I struggled throughout and I wish I could have done better at my position.
Think of how you currently respond to conflict in a team. In what ways does this help develop the team and develop yourself. If you feel another approach to handling conflict might be more efficient what might that be?
Tumblr media
If there are conflicts in the team first of all I listen to the members and their opinions that are raising conflict, try to understand their perspective about their opinion, try to figure out how the opinion is good and if not what can be the consequences. After this we try to convince the member on the other side of the bar and mostly we succeed in doing this. If in case it doesn’t work we go ahead with voting to get the final decision.
This is very good, trusted and many times proven method of solving conflicts and I like it very much. I feel this is best and there’s no room for another approach for me.
If you could do one thing differently when working in future teams what might that be? Why?
Tumblr media
Things I would love to do when working in teams ahead are:
• Be fair to all, irrespective to their opinions, gender and experience
• Listen to everyone, helps them to open up and create strong bond
• Show empathy as always
• Be consistent and focused towards the goal or a vision in common
• Understand everyone and never force someone to do something they don’t want to do
• Understand their strengths and play on that strengths to get better results as a team.
Never run directly down to solutions, try and understand what the actual problem is.

Leadership Development Week #2
In terms of all of the personal assessments completed in class this week, which insight most powerfully resonated for you? Why?
Tumblr media
This week I was indulged in doing quite a good number of personality assessments during my leadership class. I believe strength finder assessment was the one I could connect the most out of all. The results were not very surprising but still I felt connected and other thing I would say was that this assessment not only helped me finding my strengths but also solved my doubts that I was having due to which sometimes I was confusing my strengths with weaknesses.
In what way is this personal insight helpful for you in developing your leadership?
Tumblr media
While I was filtering all of my strengths through the definition of leadership that I understood in class, I came to know how I could possibly align my strengths that they could help me achieve my goal as a leader in future. In this class I was able to redefine the word “leader” for myself. The word leadership is very small but even the greatest minds on the planet could not understand it clearly. This insight will help me to be more open which will create a foundation of trust, it will help me to count myself and rely on myself which I have never done so far, it has and will help me in listening to others without thinking and has another bunch of advantages that I feel would help me to be a good leader or I would instead say best leader in future.
What is one way you might apply this over the next week and what difference might it make for you?
Tumblr media
Recently I learned an art of listening without thinking anything in my leadership class and after that I felt that it works. Especially when we need to build trust with someone we must welcome their thoughts and let them to open up which will somehow build trust between the two.
I will try and use this insight along with what I have learned in my classroom in my next group meeting and I believe this can get me fruitful results when in the group and thereafter.
Review your leadership credo. Identify one action plan that you could do to live this belief in your life. Put it into action and see what happens!
Tumblr media
The very important part of my leadership credo was to be honest and build trust among the team members so that we can build an undefeatable team that is always thriving for achieving success. I am very much sure that I will be going to use my strengths into my work while moving ahead in my life. I will try to build a strong team with honesty and trust, always try to move along with the team in any of the projects we are working on. We as a team will conquer this world and I have no doubt in that. I am still looking forward to use my strengths in my group meetings and I hope this with this I will definitely able get more productive output.

Leadership Development
Week #1
Think of a time when you were in a leadership situation.
What was the experience like for you?
Tumblr media
I had a great experience when I was playing a leader for my team in my previous program. I was able to make the most out of it, I had a great learning experience. Meeting with new and diverse people, listening to their some common and some very bright ideas, knowing them more closely as a team, learning a lot new things from everyone everyday and every second was great experience for me. #greatlearningexperiences
What did you learn from it? Being a leader to them I learned how to channel different opinions into one direction and despite of their different ideas and interests how to keep them bonded together and sometimes make them work for their colleagues.
Describe your leadership strengths and skills as you currently know them. Where possible, align these with specific examples.
I believe that leadership skills that I know I am strong in is honesty that helped me throughout my entire life as well as whenever I was working with some other group of minds to build trust which further helped me to grow as a leader. My strength honesty has helped me in building a great relationship with people in my new program i.e. International Business Management as well.
What are the leadership strengths, skills or characteristics that you would like to develop? Why?
Tumblr media
No matter how good you are in your technical skills I believe if you want to be a great leader in your life and if you are interested in influencing others you need a good bunch of some soft skills that can help you grow even more as a great mind. Personally, I feel there is still a lot more to grab to be a professional leader. Some of the skills that I would love to have in my personality are being self aware, trustworthiness, empathy, consistency and good communication skills.
