5 Tips To Tweak Your Skincare For Spring
Tumblr media
While some love to curl up in bed as the winter chill rattles against their window, most prefer the warmth and vibrant colors of spring. It's one of the most eagerly anticipated times of the year as people look forward to the blossoming of vibrant colors, the excitement of spring break, Coachella and Easter, and perhaps most importantly, a break from the cold and gloomy winter!
With spring comes new skin issues due to the shift in weather conditions. Higher temperatures and increased humidity can impact your skin, leading to a variety of issues such as dryness, rashes, acne, eczema, and allergies. The transition from cold, dry winter air to warmer, more humid conditions can cause your skin to produce more oil, potentially leading to breakouts and redness. Additionally, springtime allergens like pollen can trigger allergic reactions, further aggravating sensitive skin.
Making small tweaks to your skincare routine this spring can keep your skin looking and feeling healthy. Here's what we recommend:
1. Use Gentle Products:
Switch to gentle skincare products that cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Look no further than Dr. Natural, where all products are made with natural ingredients and avoid harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin so that its gentle touch can leave your skin feeling soft and supple.
2. Moisturize Regularly:
Hydration, Hydration, HYDRATION- it's the key to avoiding a majority of skin issues in spring as it combats the effects of the warmer weather. Use lightweight moisturizing products like the Dr. Natural Hemp Body Wash that keeps your skin hydrated without clogging pores. Or use the wide range of Castile Soaps, that provide soft and effortless hydration through natural essential oils.
3. Use Natural Deodorants:
With the warmer weather, you may find yourself sweating more. Most deodorants contain artificial fragrances that harm the skin or harsh chemicals like aluminum and parabens, which can irritate sensitive underarm skin. Use Natural deodorants with authentic fragrances like lime, lavender, or natural powder which can keep you sweat-free, scented, and safe.
4. Use Lotion on Sensitive Skin:
If you have sensitive skin, consider using a lotion specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Dr. Natural’s Castile Body Lotion is designed to provide gentle and soothing relief for sensitive skin as the natural ingredients in the Castile formula help to prevent irritation and flare-ups.
5. Consistency is key:
To truly protect your skin you need to be consistent with your skincare. Stick to your routine of cleansing, moisturizing, and applying lotion daily to maintain healthy skin. You have to actively combat issues like acne or oily skin that can develop in the spring by using Activated Charcoal Soap or Dr. Natural’s incredible Black Soap. Both are the ideal options as they provide a deep cleanse to skin pores and help lock in moisture with a natural formula of essential oils.
Keep your spring skincare routine gentle, natural, and chemical-free by shopping  Dr. Natural’s affordable solutions at Walmart or on our website and prevent common springtime skin issues so that you can enjoy a season of healthy, radiant skin!

isn't she beautiful?
the computer showing the figure of a young woman stripping off her work clothes in her bedroom, in an almost teasing way, or that's what he perceived it as.
once she was completely nude, her breast hanging without the support of that uncomfortable bra, her sweaty, used underwear most likely caked in discharge, she shape of her ass, ordinary on most but beautiful on her.
shalnark eagerly watched as she walks into the bathroom attatched to her room, closing the door behind her, his cock pressed against his pants. pretty much begging to be let free of it's confinement, but he wanted to tease himself a little more, waiting until she actually gets in the shower to jerk off.
she pulls the shower curtains away and turns the nobs to where the warm was lukewarm, leaning on a hotter temperature, some useless information he retained.
he knew she was stressed from work today, first having to deal with entitled, annoying customers, and once she leaves work, a scruffy old man follows her to her car in an attempt to get her number, she shoos him away like the pest he was.
little did she know, she thankfully would never see him again.
she steps in the shower, the water hits her body, making her jump, it must not be the right temperature.
the small camera she has yet to see shows her perfectly close, just sitting above in the upper right corner behind the showerhead, he could see her soaked tits, and the water swimming towards her pussy.
bending over to turn the knobs again, the image of him thrusting behind her appears in his head, he wonders how loud she'll moan as his cock plunges deep inside, hitting that one spot that's sure to make her crazy.
this action isn't new for him, he's watched her shower sessions for a while, and it never gets old, thankfully, chrollo hadn't called the spiders to get together in a number of months, so he had a lot of free time to spend, especially watching his dearest friend shower.
once she got it to the right temperature, she picks out her lavender scented organic castile soap, by this point, shalnark's cock is already out on full display, watching in anticipation as she pours some of the soap onto the small towel to wash off her body, she drags the towel in every crevice, her breasts jiggle and flop as she passes by them, cleaning them.
tiny leaks of pre-cum dripple down to his fingers, slowly pumping his fist as he watches her clean her body, the water washing away the soap.
she spreads her legs to let the water run through her pussy, getting a good view of it, her lips slightly spread open, using her fingers to open them even further, his cock twitches at the sight, he was blessed to have a friend with such a beautiful pussy.
even more precum spills out as he unintentionally jerks faster than anticipated, she was cleaning her pussy with the water, honestly, he's so desperate for her, she didn't even have to wash it, the musty smell of discharge and sweat wouldn't even bother him, he's a grown man who's had his fair share of pussy to eat.
she pulls out another soap, a scented body wash, what reads on the bottle says that is was more of a fruity, floral scent, her signature scent, with the perfume that matches almost exactly.
imagining himself smelling her after she dries herself off, on top of her freshly cleansed body, making love marks and bites, she moans his name and tells him to continue.
she once again washes her body, she soap's lather covering parts of her body, he's close to cumming fixating on the way her breasts move, every now and again she'll swipe underneath and let them fall comfortably back down, he might just cum right on the spot if she goes back to opening her legs.
shalnark removes his hand from his cock so that he won't cum too soon, there's still more he wants to see, and if he's lucky like last time, he gets to watch her play with herself.
his cock twitching at the thought, the way she fucked herself with that dildo, the way she rubbed her clit, the way she moaned.. god, he wished he could go back to the very moment he came from that.
but it's only been a few weeks almost a month since that happened, and she hasn't done it ever since.
however, this will do, her shower routine is boring and familiar yes, but it's her, the woman he wants oh so badly, the woman he's obsessed with, beyond obsessed.
the shower routine came to a close as she turns the knobs, the water stops, she hops out the shower to pick up the towel to wrap around her body, concealing it, he quickly switches cameras, to her room, where she walks into, the towel that was wrapped around her was taken off, she begins to wipe away any water, drying herself away, his cock painfully hard as he watches her dry herself, teasing his moist head, she drops the towel and walks over to her dresser; the same dresser her dildo was placed in.
was it about to happen again?
but to his disappointment, she pulled out a pair of underwear, closing the drawer.
she opens another drawer to pull out an oversized t-shirt, closing that drawer and throwing the clothes over onto the bed, where she goes to sit on afterwards.
he waits for what she's going to do next, the camera sits in the far left corner of her room, getting once again another perfect view of her bedroom.
she goes to lay on the bed, spreading her legs, getting another view of her pussy, she was wet, and not because of the water.
was she going to masturbate again?
her fingers travel down to her moistened pussy, spreading her lips with her index and ring finger, she uses her middle finger to dip into her hole to gather some of her slick, and make soft, teasing circles around her clit.
"fuck.." he curses under his breath as he rubs his cock at the same pace she was, he could see her pussy pulsing and twitching with each touch, more juices spilling out, she didn't moan this time, but still.
she reaches over to the small dresser beside her bed to open it, pulling out that same toy, turns out she placed the dildo in a different spot.
she wasted no time shoving the dildo into her wet hole, letting out a soft moan as it's all the way in, she continues to rub her clit with her middle finger, the pace gradually growing faster.
he was jerking so fast, fuck, he could cum in any minute now, this was too much for him, he so badly wished that dildo was replaced with his cock instead, a mere toy can only do so much.
"oh.. oh fuck im so.. close.." she moans softly as tears started to form in her eyes from the amount of pleasure she was experiencing, shalnark couldn't contain it, his cum splattering all over his stomach, breathing heavily as he draws out more.
she throws her head back, quickly removing the dildo as she squirts all over her bedsheets, laying there, breathing heavily, the both of them were.
he stares at the screen with half lidded eyes, watching her frame, he decided that it would be time to turn off his computer, staring at his now soft cock and the cum that lays on his stomach.
"what has she done to me?" he whispers to himself, does he feel .. shameful? has post nut clarity finally caught up with him?
no, he was just tired, he'll finally see her tomorrow anyways, getting up from his chair to clean himself off in his bathroom, wiping off the cum with a damp towel.
thinking about his plan, to kidnap her, and to finally have her all to himself, but on the bright side, she'll never have to worry about old sleezy men hitting on her again, now, would she?

"Here I am scribbling nonsense [in] when I should be engaged in the more useful [and] occupation of washing out some very dirty clothes of which I am the happy owner so with the permission of the reader if I am so fortunate as to have one I will once more haul taut + belay." - William Douglass Buel, whaler on the bark Wave, 1856
Since I am unable to do my heaps of laundry today because someone has inconsiderately monopolized AAAAALL the machines, it's time to write a post about whaleship laundry day to quell my fury!
Tumblr media
"A person unused to the sight of the ship would take the Old Lucy Ann for a ready made clothing store, the rigging being hung full of wet clothing" wrote John Martin of his ship on laundry day in 1842.
As always, laundry was a dreaded task but also an absolutely necessary one, especially given how begrimed (or as one whaler put it, 'beshit') things would get on a whaler. William Abbe, a greenhand on the Atkins Adams in 1858, most viscerally described the mess that came from the work:
"To turn out at midnight and put on clothes soaked in raw oil. To go on deck and work for Eighteen hours among blubber—slipping + stumbling on the sloppy decks til you are covered from crown to heel with oil—eating with oily hands oily grub—drinking from oily pots til your mouth and lips have a nauseating oily luster—turning in for a few hours sleep — after wiping off your bare body with oakum to take off the thickest of the oil"
So you gotta clean that shit! 'Clean'. A relative sort of word.
First, whalers soaked their dirty clothes in the communal urine barrel, as the ammonia content of stale urine was one of the few things strong enough on board to start to cut through the grease. Sometimes the clothes would be towed behind the ship afterwards to rinse them, but that wasn't always the case. Rainwater was also collected in anticipation of wash day to have fresh water to rinse with. With this fresh water, a lye was also made using the ashes and crispy blubber scraps come from the trying out process. The deck would be washed in a similar way after trying out a whale, often using a combo of urine, lye, and sand. J.E. Haviland, of the Baltic in 1857 described the laundry work that he had never expected to be doing himself:
Tumblr media
"Tomorrow all hands are to wash out their clothes with the ashes made from the scraps These ashes are put in a cask and then pour fresh water in the cask + this makes a very strong Lye which might take all the grease and slush out of the clothes without applying any soap. I have some 12 pieces to wash but I think I can do it as quick and as well as any wash woman. If any one had of told me two years ago I should be obliged to wash my own clothes, say nothing about mending then I should have thought them a fool. But man proposses + God disposses."
Whaling wife Almira Gibbs, who accompanied her family (Captain and young son) aboard more than one whaler had her own recipe for soap, despite Haviland's assertion that it wasn't necessary:
"1 lb castile soap 1 1/4 lb soda 6c worth borax add 5 pts water and let it simmer till it is all dissolved, take it off and add 9 pts water and let it cool."
Whaling wives aboard also complained about laundry and the difficulty of doing it aboard ship. The moldering of clothes in such a damp environment, the constant roll of the vessel sometimes overturning one's tub or making ironing dangerous, having to wait for rainfall for fresh water, and a sunny day for actually performing said wash, were constant features in wives' laments. Mary Lawrence, aboard the Addison in 1860 sarcastically wrote about her laundry attempt thwarted by the weather one July.
Tumblr media
July 30 A wonderful circumstance. When we were called this morning, the sun was shining bright. “Now for a washing day,” thought I, “if it is Saturday.” So I went to work; had a large wash, it being four weeks since I had had one before. Just as I got about half through, the fog came thicker than I ever saw it before. I was obliged to put my white clothes in soak and dry the colored clothes in the cabin.
She also mentioned her young daughter Minnie who "took her little tub and washed her dog's bedclothes, for Jip has had a bed all the season that had to be made up like anybody's bed".
Sighting whales at any point would also put an interruption to the wash. This photo taken aboard the Sunbeam by Clifford Ashley in his brief 1904 research trip shows men hoisting up the whaleboats after taking a small whale, their Sunday laundry still hanging between the davits.
Tumblr media
I'll close with whaling wife Mary Brewster's description of a wash day following the trying out of a whale on her husband's ship Tiger, one winter day in Magdalena Bay 1847.
"Calm pleasant weather. Employed in sewing till 4 this afternoon, when I went on deck, where I found every part, and everything about, very nice and clean. The sailors all washing up their dirty clothes, both trypots full boiling in ley [lye] and the rigging hung full. A few garments floating which had taken flight overboard to save washing. All presented a lively spectable and I could say with all hands, farewell to Greybacks [lice]."

simple skincare tips!
🌼eat the foods that love you back. your skin is a direct mirror of your internal situation. if your digestive system is being bombarded often by foods that create a lot of wastes and residues, that does more harm than good. and so, the struggle to eliminate them will be reflected in your skin. your diet constitutes the vast majority of your skin health. change your meals to be whole food plant based (still delicious, satisfying, and exciting) & watch your skin glow and your skincare routine simplify.
🌼be conscious of what's going on your skin. the skin layers can be over-cleansed, imbalanced, and aggravated when the skin microbiome and pH are disrupted. if you wipe out the beneficial bacterial populations with harshly formulated products, you may find that you break out (i.e. harmful bacterial populations begin to thrive). use gentle, simple skin formulas such as castile soaps, natural oils & butters (i recommend jojoba oil for mostly everyone), natural soap bars, and clays. most commercial skin care products disturb the skin cells (introduce too much foreign material to the body, unsuitable pH ranges, imbalance the microbiome, etc). they sell because it's convention to buy them, the brands are well-known, and their sales pitches are enticing. but really, no cream or serum will ever be the magic potion your skin was asking for. it will only be a band-aid, at best. truly healthy skin comes from diet, and the products are just for any other necessary maintenance. if you get a pimple, you should look first to why the pimple emerged, not what treatment will remove it.
🌼keep your lymph flowing. simple ways to do this are through good lifestyle habits. things like doing exercise & sports you find fun, breathwork, dry brushing, eating lots of fruit, avoiding wearing bras & other tight clothing items, lymphatic massage/gua sha can all be helpful.
🌼focus on hydration via fresh fruits and veggies. the water within plant foods is more useable to your cells, and your skin will cease being overly oily or dry overtime (especially if you reduce/eliminate your salt & oil intake). it will also help to encourage lymphatic flow, so you can see problems like blemishes, cellulite, old scars diminish after great consistency.
🌼allow your skin to breathe. this is especially good if you spend time in stuffy (poorly ventilated) indoor environments, like offices, hospitals, planes, etc. one great way is via herbal facial steaming (i recommend it 3x a week or so). make a hot infusion of an aromatic tea, cover it and allow it to cool a few minutes, and, with closed eyes, allow the pores to open and receive the herbal medicine (this is a great time to meditate, manifest, and just feel pampered). getting more fresh air, working up a sweat, and going to a sauna are also ways to allow your skin to breathe.
🌼avoid steroid prescriptions creams at all costs. they are very deleterious to health in the long term, and they can be very painful to come off of. it's not a real fix. it's not worth hurting your kidneys & adrenals for. evaluate your diet instead. do you eat dairy? choose plant-based dairy options instead (they're simple to make yourself too). do you eat a lot of fats? try oil-free cooking methods instead (opt for sautéing with a bit of water, baking, steaming, air frying, etc). avoiding eating out as much.
🌼be aware of what you're putting in your hair as well. your shampoos, conditioner, leave-ins, gels, moisturizers, oils, serums, etc all tend to touch your face too, when your hair touches your face. if they wouldn't be good enough to put on your face, don't put them in your hair. a lot of the best skin cleansers are also suitable as shampoos. a lot of oils and butters can be used for both. plant-based gels like aloe vera or flax seed are simple to DIY, and are dual-use once again. basically, this will simplify your life.
🌼understand the water that runs through your pipes. if your shower and tap water are like most people's around the world, they aren't optimal for our skin. for example, they contain added chemicals to sanitize the water but that can prevent the proper microbiomes from developing on your skin. a weak skin microbiome is prone to skin issues. so, try to use distilled water on your face (if you're not able to get a water filter, a gallon jug at a store is affordable. they're about $1.30 USD in my area).

OMG propmt time! Uuuuuuuuh…. Well I uh…I KNOW where panchito abandons Jose in the middle of the night, but then months later he comes back but finds Jose in a new house about to get engaged to this other guy, and panchito is like, “ oh pleaseee forgive me! Be with me !” But Jose wan nona dat so it’s like going back and forward with panchito trying to screw up the relationship but Jose actually want to be happy for once in his life and actually loves the guy he is engaged to so idk how to end it tbh.
This is so long 😭😭😭 I’m sorry
Oh my goodness! I am so sorry this took so long. I really went crazy with it so it's pretty long! I tried to keep it as close to what you wanted as I could! I hope you enjoy it and thank you for sending me the prompt!
Having a gay crisis about one of your best friends was one thing.
Having a gay crisis after you spend a long passion-filled night with one of your best friends was something entirely different.
Running from problems was not something Panchito usually did, preferring to face them head-on so he could solve them and get on with his life. Running was something cowards did, especially when it was not only you but also involved a dear one’s thoughts and feelings as well, and this time Panchito could call himself nothing other than that.
The panic had set in as soon as José’s eyes had closed, his breathing even and soft as the cold sickening feeling of dread started to fill Panchito’s stomach. He only waited until he was sure that José was truly asleep before moving quickly, grabbing his clothes and shoving them into his bag as quietly as he could before bolting out into the dark night.
Traveling back to Mexico with memories of that night had been torture. Remembering the way José’s face had grown red as he whispered things in Portuguese that Panchito hadn’t fully understood but caught enough of the meaning. How their kisses had felt electric, the feeling of his body pressed against Panchito’s, and how tightly he had held Panchito’s hand as they both finished with groans.
It was strange how badly it hurt when he only received one text from José asking if he was okay and then received nothing else even when Panchito tried to text or call.
He didn’t blame José.
If anyone had treated any of his sisters, or brothers to be fair, like that he would have hogtied them and dragged them through the town behind Señor Martinez for everyone to shame them for doing such a thing. He had thought about doing it to himself, but Señor Martinez would have never done anything to hurt him so Panchito had settled for going to his hometown Parish and asking if he could stay there for the time being. He did not dare try to go to his parent's home with his head filled with such confusion and turmoil, they would never leave him be.
Though alone, Panchito’s thoughts were only filled with José.
How he smelled. Castile soap, Malbec cologne, and the faint hint of cigar smoke since José had started smoking outside because it bothered both Donald and Panchito.
The way the feathers around his neck and cheeks would fluff up when he started to lose his temper.
How well he could hold his liquor until suddenly he couldn’t and he became the most clingy thing anyone had ever come across.
His favorite foods. His favorite music. His favorite places.
Panchito even missed how deceiving José could be.
Father Quintero had been very kind, letting Panchito stay with him and help around the parish wherever it was needed. The man did not ask Panchito what was bothering him or why he was back, only told him that he was there to listen if Panchito needed to talk. It wasn’t until he had been there for a month that Panchito finally broke down and confessed everything that he had been thinking, feeling, and had done to the priest after Father Quintero asked why Panchito never seemed to play his guitar or sing anymore.
The reason was because it made him ache for the bird he had left behind.
Father Quintero had listened calmly, handing him tissues when Panchito had been unable to hold back tears and a soft hand on his back when he would get choked on words he had been too afraid to say before.
“I love him.” It was whimpered, words raw and cracking as they came out of his mouth. “I love him more than a friend and not like a brother.”
It had taken weeks of talking, Panchito questioning Father Quintero on every single possible thing that he could think of now that he could admit his heart truly belonged to another man. He had been surprised when the priest never seemed to judge him or tell him that his feelings were vile and sinful. Only would take his hand and make sure Panchito was looking him in the eyes before he said, “You are a good soul, Francsico. It is my opinion that it is your actions that God looks at when our time comes and not those we love. I do not believe love can be a sin because it is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.”
It was another two weeks of thinking before he packed up his guitar, thanked Father Quintero for all of his help and set off with determination in his heart.
He would go back to José, not to beg for another chance, but to apologize fully and wholeheartedly for what he had done to someone so dear.
Talking to Donald before traveling to Brazil had been one of the scariest and most hurtful moments in Panchito’s life. Donald was angry. Livid. Things were thrown at him, and truly nasty, ugly words yelled at him right on Donald’s front door.
He had told Panchito to go away, that he wanted nothing to do with someone who would treat a friend the way Panchito had, and slammed the door in his face. Panchito had gone back to his hotel room, surprised when at three in the morning a text from Donald woke him up.
Donald: You are an absolute bastard who doesn’t deserve any kind of kindness after what you did…
Donald: But you are still my friend and I love you…
Donald: Bring lunch over tomorrow. Nothing cheap. I’m pissed as hell and I will be even more angry if you bring fast food.
The lunch had lasted well into the night, from glasses filled with soda to being refilled with whiskey. The first few hours Panchito got another verbal lashing, and he sat and took it because it was what he deserved, but after that real conversations started.
“Did you know he’s engaged?”
Panchito’s shock must have shown on his face because Donald gave him a look with a raised eyebrow and Panchito had to clamp down on the feeling of hurt. It had only been two and a half months since he had held José in his arms and the other had whispered words of affection into his ear, had he been that easy to move on from? Anger sparked for just a moment before Panchito told himself he wasn’t allowed to feel that way.
He had left first.
“No,” Panchito whispered, putting his head in his hands, feeling more defeated and sad than he had his entire life. “I didn’t. Rosinha?”
Donald snorted and Panchito knew it was a dumb question to ask.
He loved José, but the parrot truly made a lot of bad decisions, especially when it came to the women in his life and how he treated them. Rosinha had been one of the most frequent victims of José’s fickle and flighty interests, putting up with so much that both Donald and Panchito were relieved when she finally had enough. She and José had stayed friends which was a miracle and some ugly part of Panchito hoped that because he hadn’t done anything as bad as José had to Rosinha maybe they could at least stay as friends.
A thought that had come up numerous times while he had been away floated up and he looked up at Donald. “Do…do you think I was just a fling?”
Donald sent him a glare. “Would that make you feel better? That running away wasn’t so bad as long as it didn’t mean anything to him?”
Panchito hunched his shoulders, feeling ashamed because it was true, but at the same time the idea of José seeing him as nothing but a friend to have a fun night with made him feel sick.
Donald sighed after a moment and shook his head. “No, Panchito. José can be awful, but you are his friend first and foremost. He wouldn’t have risked that for sex unless he felt that way towards you.”
By the time one in the morning came, Panchito found himself on Donald’s couch a bit drunk with Donald’s arms wrapped around him in an embrace that made Panchito’s already red-rimmed eyes water again. Donald let him stay at his house while Panchito sorted everything out and for the first time in two and a half months, Panchito picked up his guitar and started to work on a new song.
Finding José had not been hard, his new fiancée was an actress from a wealthy and respectable family in Brazil and they frequently went to and threw several events. While finding José had not been hard, getting into the soonest party he would be at was. He’d had to use his charm and disguise techniques he’d learned as a Caballero just to get in the band that was playing for the event.
He hadn’t even taken off his fake beard when he heard José speak.
“Ah. Hello, meu amigo.” José’s voice carried a friendly tone, but it sounded flat and off to Panchito’s ears. “To what do I owe the pleasure of you sneaking into my fiancée’s gala?”
Panchito felt a lump in his throat as he slowly stood and turned, terrified now that he was face to face with José. He had been thinking about this moment for so long and now that he was here nerves threatened to take over but moved past it and took a deep breath. “I came to apologize.”
There was no look of shock or anger, just a mild look of curiosity and an easy smile that did not reach the parrot's eyes. “Oh? For what, Paco?”
Panchito frowned, frustrated at the nonchalant act, before he took a step forward toward the Parrot, instinctively reaching out. He froze when José gave the smallest of flinches at the movement and Panchito immediately dropped his arms and pulled back. He let out a soft sad sigh before shaking his head and looking back up at the man who owned his heart.
“For that night. I had-“ Panchito stopped when José clicked his tongue and waved his hand in Panchito’s direction in a dismissive way.
“Oh, dear Panchito,” Jose shook his head. “You do not have to apologize. It was a moment of crazy passion, nothing else.”
Panchito’s heart hammered in his chest, courage rapidly fading as those light brown eyes stared at him as if Panchito was just another random person in the room.
“But I do,” Panchito replied, pushing past any of his feelings of fear and hurt. “I did something someone should never do to a friend. Especially to a friend that they love. Love more than anything.”
The sudden look of fear in José’s eyes made Panchito’s heart clench and he took a step back when José took a threatening step towards him. Green feathers around his neck and cheeks ruffled in anger even as his expression smoothed out into a distorted look of forced friendliness that honestly scared Panchito.
José laid a hand on his shoulder, grip tight enough to cause Panchito to wince and sway when José gave him a ‘playful’ shake.
“I said,” Jose replied. “There is nothing to apologize for, meu amigo. So let us leave it at that.”
Panchito was not given a choice, José letting go of his shoulder and walking away without even a single look back. Crying right now in front of a large group of people was not ideal and Panchito took a deep steadying breath to compose himself as José’s figure disappeared amongst the crowd.
Give up.
He clearly does not want to think about that night.
Or about you for that matter.
Give up. Go home. You failed.
He should give up. He should go home. But he wouldn’t. He was done being a coward.
Panchito went back to the band, asking them for one very large favor before he set up to play their setlist. Pure stubbornness allowed him to play through their music with no issue, his anxiety quieted as his fingers strummed the strings of his guitar. It was only when they had finished their sixth song and the leader of the band announced they had something new for the audience that Panchito felt the unsettling creep of fear.
Panchito attached the strap to his guitar with shaking fingers, slipping it over his neck as he stood and moved over toward the microphone. He swallowed thickly and nodded when the other singer clapped him on the back and muttered words of good luck before leaving him alone at the front of the stage. Panchito made sure the microphone was in the right place to pick up both his voice and guitar before taking in a settling breath and pulling up the courage he used to know so well.
He laid his calloused fingers against the frets, his other hand moving to very gently brush against the strings and he looked out into the crowd to see if he could find José. There was no sign of the parrot and Panchito refused to let the hurt and fear take over that José wouldn’t even hear what he had made.
As a last-minute thought, he decided to switch the words he had written for the man from English to Spanish. José knew English fluently but Spanish was a little harder, especially since Portuguese was so close to it that there were often misunderstandings. That way, José would hear his song but could decide for himself if he wanted to hear Panchito’s apology. It was all José’s choice and Panchito let everything go as he poured all that he felt into the first gentle cords of the song.
Hola mi amigo, mi querido, mi amor. (Hello My friend, My dear, My love.)
¿Me estás escuchando? (Are you listening?) Hay tantas cosas que quiero decir. (There are so many things I want to say.) Tantas palabras que me han llevado a llenar la página. (So many words that have filled the page.)
¿Puedes hablar? (Can you speak?) Necesito tu voz como en las canciones que solíamos cantar. (I need your voice like in our songs we used to sing.) Una hermosa armonía entrelazada como un sencillo anillo de oro. (A beautiful harmony like a simple gold ring.)
Hay muchas cosas que desearía no haber hecho. (There’s many things I wish I didn’t do.) Como no quedarme hasta que saliera el sol contigo. (Not staying till the sun rose with you.) O huir porque tenía miedo de lo que significaba. (Running because I was scared of what it meant.) No pensar en lo que eso significaría para ti.  (Not thinking what it would do to you.)
Hola mi amigo, mi querido, mi amor. (Hello My friend, My dear, My love.) Lo siento por haberte herido. (I’m sorry that I hurt you.) Hola mi amigo, mi querido, mi amor. (Hello My Friend, My dear, My Love.) Lo siento por haberte dejado. (I’m sorry that I left you.)
No sé si este llamado te llegará. (I don’t know if this call will reach you.) Sé que esto no es ni remotamente suficiente. (I know it’s not nearly enough) Mi amor es cristalino, claro como mi mente. (My love is crystal, clear just like my head.) Me tomó tiempo y ahora, lamentablemente, es tarde. (It took time and now it is unfortunately late.)
Si no es así, mi corazón y mi alma te daré. (If it is not, my heart and soul to you I’ll give) Estaré contigo y cuidaré de ti mientras viva. (Be with you and take care of you as long as I live) Si es así, por favor, no te preocupes, no te molestaré. (If it is, please do not worry, I will not bother you.) En mis sueños te abrazaré fuerte y rápido. (In dreams I’ll hold you close and hold you fast.)
Te deseo solo cosas buenas. (I wish you only good things.) Una vida plena y libre. (A life full and free.)
Buenas noches mi amigo, mi querido, mi amor. (Goodnight My friend, My dear, My love.) Lo siento por haberte herido. (I’m sorry that I hurt you.) Adiós mi amigo, mi querido, mi amor. (Goodbye My Friend, My dear, My Love.) Lo siento por haberte dejado. (I’m sorry that I left you.)
The applause startled Panchito, so lost in pouring his heart out that he had forgotten where he was for a moment. He once again tried to look through the crowd, but when there was no sign of José Panchito could only bow and step back as the band continued with their songs.
He heard nothing from José for the rest of the time he spent in Brazil.
Nothing from José as he flew back to his home where he sat his parents down to tell them of his love for another man.
Nothing as he stayed home for a few months to help around the house as well as going to visit Father Quintero, doing a few odd jobs for the priest when he needed help.
Nothing as he planned his yearly trip north to visit Donald and the family, making sure that he would not be coming around the time José did. It used to be something José and he did together, but Panchito knew that wasn’t something he could have anymore.
“Did you know your song is crazy popular in Brazil?” Donald questioned as they sat at his dinner table one morning, Panchito sipping his second cup of coffee because he had already been up with the sun while Donald stirred his first with a sleepy stare.
Panchito nodded. “Si, I know. Someone called a while back to see if I would be willing to record it.”
Donald glanced up from his coffee to look at him. “Are you going to?”
“No,” Panchito said with a small smile, time had given him a quiet sense of melancholy peace. “The song is not for everyone. It is only for him.”
Donald didn’t say any more about it and they moved on with his visit.
It was on the day that he was leaving Duckburg, bags packed and a plane ticket bought for Italy, that Panchito finally heard something.
The soft knock on his motel room door made him frown as he shoved his toothbrush and toothpaste into a plastic bag. He had said his goodbyes to Donald and the family yesterday after they had all gone ice skating so he could not figure out who would be at his door. Maybe housekeeping? But he had put the little sign on the door to refuse that, hadn’t he?
“Sorry!” He called. “I don’t need that today, but thank you!”
It was quiet on the other side and Panchito was about to go back to packing when he heard a familiar sigh through the door. His heart leaped into his throat when he heard the soft smooth voice he loved so dearly speak. “Do not leave me out here, Paco. People will start to suspect I am up to no good.”
Panchito had never moved as fast as he did to fling open that door, breath leaving him at the sight of José being there, right on the doorstep of his motel. José smiled, but it was unsure and his expression was guarded as he looked up at Panchito before looking past him into the room.
“May I come in?” José asked easily and Panchito wondered how the other bird could lock away any emotions so easily. “I would rather talk in privacy and not in earshot of the man who is filling a large trash bin with complimentary ice for a reason I don’t want to think about.”
“Ay!” Panchito cried, quickly moving to the side so that José could come inside. “Of course, of course! Can I get you something to drink? I have…water from the faucet.”
José shook his head, watching as Panchito shut the door before moving to stand next to the plain desk in the room. “Não. Thank you but I will not be staying long.”
“Oh.” Panchito hated how sad and disappointed his voice sounded, trying not to let his feelings get the better of him. José had finally reached out and he would let himself ruin it by doing something foolish. “What did you want to talk about?”
“Donald said you wouldn’t be recording your song.”
“Ah.” Panchito suddenly felt tired. “No.”
José stared down at the desk as if it had something interesting on it. “Why not? So many people would buy it. It truly is a hit in South America, especially in Brazil.”
“You know why.”
That answer seemed to irritate José, a frown suddenly on his face and an annoyed huff slipping out as he turned to look at Panchito fully. “Then why play it in front of such a large crowd?”
Panchito gave a weak shrug. “It was the only way I knew that you might listen.”
José snorted and crossed his arms over his chest, eyes moving to look down at the floor. “Do you know how frustrating it is? To hear that song everywhere? A song that I didn’t want to hear? You could not leave it alone could you?”
Panchito shrank back a bit when José looked up at him with such anger that Panchito wondered if this was it. This was when José would finally tell him that he wanted nothing more to do with him. “I’m sorry, Zé.”
“Oh. I am well aware, Panchito.” José growled. “You keep saying sorry, telling the world you are sorry and your feelings for me. Yet you keep running.”
“Que?!” Panchito cried, suddenly so confused. “How? How did I run again?”
“You came back into my life and sang one of the most beautiful songs about how much you loved me and then just left again!” José yelled, green feathers fluffing up in a way that even though Panchito knew it meant he was angry the sight made his heart beat hard with love. “Not one word from you after! For almost a year!”
Panchito stared at him in shock. “You wanted me to? You made it clear you did not want to listen to me so after I left you alone!”
“Of course, I didn’t want to listen to you!!” José cried, moving closer to Panchito with his finger raised. “Because I knew if I did I would fall again because I’m weak to you! I know I lie and people distrust me, but I have never lied to you when it was important. All those words I said that night were true, Panchito, every single one.”
The room was quiet except for José’s heavy breathing, but Panchito could swear the sound of his heartbeat was loud enough that José could hear it. It was like stepping on thin ice, the choice he was about to make was very likely to break whatever this was and have him sinking into a cold world where José was gone for good.
“Were?” Panchito questioned softly and he watched as José’s face changed to confusion, anger, and then fear.
“Ah, Escroto.” José choked out, his voice cracking as Panchito could see the parrot’s eyes grow wet with tears. “Were…and are. Of course, it is all still true.”
“Zé…” Panchito reached out and this time José did not try to move away, letting Panchito take his hands in his and stand close. “Whatever you want from me, I’ll give it. Even if it is only as a bandmate or less, I don’t care as long as I can still have you in my life.”
“You are truly such a depressing romantic,” José muttered, the humor there amongst the raw ugly feelings.
“I try,” Panchito replied and sighed in relief when José wrapped his arms around him and hugged him and he held the parrot back tightly. “But only for you.”
“Please stop,” José grumbled. “I can only take so much of your selfless declarations of love before I feel sick.”
“Alright,” Panchito whispered, the feeling of having José around him again making him feel lightheaded and he dared to rest his cheek on top of José’s head softly. “What do we do now?”
He felt José’s shoulders sag, any tension in the parrot’s body leaving as he leaned his weight against Panchito. José was quiet for a bit before he moved his head out from under Panchito’s cheek and looked up at the rooster with a determined look.
“Well, first I believe you need to treat me to lunch.” José started and Panchito was nodding before he could even think. “Then I want to hear that song again, without hundreds of other people in the room, and you will play it over and over again until I’m even more sick of it than I already am.”
Panchito let out a weak laugh, willing to sing for José until his voice could go no longer. “Of course.”
“And lastly,” José continued, suddenly seeming unsure and nervous. “I want you to buy me a ticket for the same flight you are taking tonight and if you can’t, you have to find a new one that we can both take…together.”
“Ay, Mi alma.” Panchito whispered, voice cracking as his eyes stung with tears. “Of course. Anything for you.”

👄🌹💎🛀HYGIENE TIPS! 🛀💎🌹👄
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello everyone!
When I was a teenager I struggled a lot with body odor, didn't take care of my personal hygiene much because my mother never taught me these type of things, she always told me it was because of the hormones and never helped me by buying products or teaching me how to take care.
There's nothing to be ashamed of, it's never too late to take care of yourself and everyone has to learn. Some people don't have sisters, present mothers or anyone that teaches them.
Apple Cider Vinegar: if you struggle with body odor, apply some acv with a cotton on the parts you sweat most before you shower. Also you can use acv for your 🐱 BUT DON'T APPLY IT DIRECTLY, pour 1/2 glass of acv into your bath.
Towels: use a different tower for your hands, body and 🐱. After using them, let them air dry and wash them twice a week. I prefer to clean my downpart with water and a towel (only use soap after s*x and when I'm on my period). Make sure to dry it well to avoid infections and fungus.
Oil pulling, tongue scraper and floss: literally changed my life ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Rinse your mouth with coconut oil for 10-15 minutes, it's one of the first things I do when I wake up but you can also do it at night. Tongue scraper everytime I wash my teeth, be gentle! Little pressure is enough. Remember to floss everyday.
Double cleanse: double cleanse your face and body.
Wash your back after conditioning: the rests of conditioner may cause back acne.
Dry exfoliating: exfoliate your skin with a shower glove before you shower.
Try to use unscented soaps or shower gels: products with perfumes tend unbalance your ph. So be careful with the products you choose, I personally recommend the Pure Castille soap as shower gel or the Dove bar soap.
Scents I do not recommend for deodorants: coconut, lemon and rose. I think that the sweat mixed with those scents make the smell worse.
Always carry baby wipes.
Antiperspirant deodorant. I recommend the Vichy antiperspirant deodorant, fun fact: the men's collection is actually better. But wash it off before you go to sleep, so your pores don't spend too much time clogged.
Any other advice is welcomed!
BE SAFE EVERYONE!!!

Sunday Steve - Day Eight
Things that would be new or unfamiliar to Steve in the 21st century, either due to the time period he grew up in, or his social-economic status and other such factors.
Day Eight: Shampoo and Conditioner
Shampoo: The origins of the word shampoo comes from an Indian hair and body massage called champooi/champo.
In the late 1800s and early 1900s shampoo was a water soluble, dry shampoo powder that would be dissolved by the teaspoon in a cup of hot water (Link). Shampoo could also come as bars of soap, which could lather or be grated and dissolved into boiling water and left to cool and solidify.
A 1908 New York Times shampoo guide claims "hair is best shampooed at night, following thorough combing and brushing, and singeing split ends. Castile soap is applied with a stiff brush and rinsed four times every month to six weeks." (Link)
Bathing had become more and more common as part of the hygiene routine in the early 1900s, but shampooing was generally recommended every two weeks—or every four to six weeks (preferably using castile soap or tar soap) because shampoo was known for drying out and damaging hair. (Link)
While at-home shampooing was slowly becoming more common, it was more common—for those who could afford it—to get it commercially done. Most shampoo ads were targeted towards women, but men in barbershops "transitioned from using hair tonics to using shampoos to remove the build-up of heavy styling products" (Link).
The liquid shampoo first really started hitting the market in 1927. So by the 30s at-home shampooing became even more common. This is due to a combination of most Americans have in-house plumbing, their own bathrooms, and the shampoo formulas becoming less harsh and drying. The combination of all this meant one could wash their hair every week. (Link) (Every day shampooing began to be marketed in the 70s since oily hairstyles were out of fashion.)
Liquid shampoos were sold in glass bottles, while powdered shampoos came in tins.
Tumblr media
Bottles of shampoo and lotions manufactured in the early 20th century by the C.L. Hamilton Co. of Washington, D.C., United States
It wasn't until 1934 that detergent-based (no-soap, modern) shampoos came onto the market (Link).
Sarah Rogers likely wouldn't have been able to afford to get her hair shampooed, but she could have made her own shampoo from castile soap bars (example youtube video) or bought shampoo powders which were then dissolved in water.
She would only wash her hair every few weeks, most likely brushing her hair and keeping it up in styles in-between washes. (Link) Using a clean brush to brush ones hair helped remove and evenly distribute oils.
In 1933 shampoo cost about 25-50 cents. (Link) (Link) I haven't dug deep to know exactly what kind of things Steve and Sarah would be able to afford. But it wouldn't surprise me if there were times they could and couldn't afford hair care products.
As for if Steve would shampoo his hair, he probably just used soap. Shampoo had soap in it until 1933 (which was why it was so drying) (Link). But men could afford to use soap on their hair since they usually had shorter hair and their natural head oils could help mitigate the damage.
I can find less information about men's hair routines if they couldn't afford to go to barbershops, so I'm less certain of what Steve would do. But 20s, 30s, and 40s men's hair styles had a lot of oil or greasy styling products. While these would need to be washed out for re-styling (probably weekly like women) the oil products would help against drying out the hair.
Men also always wore hats. Having stiff or slick-down hair was important so that hair styles wouldn't be ruined by putting on and removing hats. Hair oils would stain hats, chairs and other things heads came in contact with.
Tumblr media
Circa 1920 Glostora hair oil and brush ad and Hair Slik ad
Don't be fooled by the ad. This vintage bottle of Glostora is 5 inches or 12.5 cm tall. It would be put on after shampooing, like conditioner.
In the Captain America: The First Avenger movie we can see that Steve's hair isn't slicked back. This could just be a modern day styling choice, but it could also show that Steve did not care about styling his hair.
Cleanliness was was important so he probably washed his hair every few weeks with soap and bathed regularly. But it doesn't look like he put heavy product in his hair. (Unlike Bucky, who probably had more reason to shampoo his hair. It wouldn't surprise me if Bucky went to the barbershop when he could afford it.)
Steve probably couldn't afford to do more to his hair than wash it with soap every few weeks. He likely made his own shampoo with castile or tar soap. This method makes more shampoo than the bottles of liquid shampoo being sold.
Conditioner: Conditioners originated from a product called brilliantine (developed in 1900) which was used to soften beards and moustaches. This product would be put on after styling in barbershops to make the hair shine and soften it. (Glostora and Hair Slik are similar products.) (Link)
"It was oil based, giving off a slimy residue to anything it touched. Homemakers knit lace doilies to cover the backs of high back chairs and couches to protect the furniture from men’s greasy heads" (Link)
Other items used similar to conditioners were hair tonics, or Wildwood Cream.
Conditioner became a necessity because of shampoo, as it is drying to the hair. So it wasn't used much until shampooing became more common (oil has a long history of being used to tame hair, but commercial conditioner products became more common along with shampoo use.) (Link)
Women caught on to these types of commercial products. I've had a hard time finding specific conditioner products from the 30s. Here is a hair care routine for women circa 1930 that mentions brillientine, so it looks like women began using brillientine as well before more specific conditioning products were developed.
There seemed to be more conditioner products developed by the 40s. Here's a conditioning cream from around the 40s, and a different one with a price (about 39¢).
Tumblr media
1942 Drene Shampoo Hair Conditioner Vintage Print Ad
(Drene was the first modern synthetic (no soap) shampoo and you can see in the side panel of this ad they say "Don't rob your hair of its glamour by using soap or liquid soap shampoo—which always leave behind a dulling film that dims the natural lustre and color brilliance!")
Wrap up
Modern day hair routines would be recognisable but still somewhat unfamiliar to Steve. This is partially because men's hairstyles have changed drastically from the slick-back styles he is used to. Hats have also gone out of style.
Also, it is common now in America to wash one's hair around three times a week. This shift came about with the change in hair styles. Woman leaving hair down and covering it less necessitates the need to shampoo and condition it more. (Women shampooed their hair once a week in salons up to the 60s).
The products are also slightly different. Liquid shampoo is the dominate form now (I doubt Steve ever bought liquid shampoo) and they come in plastic bottles. The liquid shampoo is likely a much different formula than he's used to. Additionally, conditioning is a very specific step in the process and hair product ingredients have evolved.
There are also combination products like 2-1 shampoo and conditioner which came about in the late 1980s.
Along with the cultural changes, Steve's socioeconomic status would effect his perception of hair-care routines and buying hair products.
With modern (no soap) products, Steve's hair is probably softer and shinier. Steve would have been aware of no soap products, but I don't think he would have bought them. However, he could have had these products used on him during his USO tour. Interacting with the women there probably introduced him to many products he was less familiar with.
Men's hairstyling in the 1920s.
This post kind of got away from me! But I hope you enjoyed my deep dive into 20th century hair care.

I’m sure you get a lot of asks, and it’s understandable considering how great you ladies are! I recently read your sustainability swap post (I loved it!) and I wanted to recommend something I didn’t see on there that’s incredibly important to me.
Swap out tampons and disposable pads for menstrual cups and cloth pads!! It’s an adjustment for sure (esp the menstrual cups) but it’s so good for the environment, your health, and frankly your wallet. I made the swap to a menstrual cup abt 5 years ago and haven’t had to buy tampons (minus a few early cycles until I started carrying cloth pads w me) since — and I’ve had the same cup and it’s still working great!
When it comes to the cups ItsJustKelli on YouTube has a great playlist where she reviews multiple diff products to make choosing easier (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVehiHoQpDmAQwa9UrHXF9IBzHp3cUenE). It might take some trial and error, but it is well worth the switch, considering your average cup costs abt $35 and (if taken care of) can last at least 5 years. And as far as cleaning it you really only need Castile soap, a repurposed toothbrush, hot water and a decent stainless steel pot to sterilize it in (any company you buy from has a How-To page on the cleaning aspect. They will try to sell their Special Soaps DONT LISTEN ITS A SCAM! Just buy Castile soap and toothbrush same end result!)
As for the cloth pads, there are so many websites for them, and most offer starting kits. They cost more than your average box of disposables, but rather than lasting you a few cycles they’ll last you YEARS. This website https://menstrualcupreviews.net/reusable-menstrual-cloth-pads/ has a list of them. The only brand I can recommend I got off Amazon (guilty as charged) and are great for getting started. (wegreeco Bamboo Charcoal - Reusable Sanitary Pads | Panty Liners | Soft Cloth Menstrual Pads - 6 Pack with 1 Cloth Mini Wet Bag (Medium, Luxury ) https://a.co/d/cTf4mfF)
Ultimately, when I was considering switching I weighed the pros: 1. Save money long term, 2. No longer contribute to the growing pile of blood-soaked, chemical-ridden used tampons and pads clogging landfills, 3. No longer run the risk of introducing toxic chemicals to my body via products made by companies that don’t care abt consumer health; and the cons: 1. More money upfront (which can be circumvented by shopping around and setting aside some money as is feasible), 2. Having to get more comfortable w my body (which ultimately was a positive), 3. The gross factor (downside: yeah you’ll likely see the blood, neutral: it’s your blood tho and you know where it’s coming from; neutral: w the disposable vs. cloth pads the end result isn’t that diff beyond instead of chucking it in the trash you chuck it in the washing machine), and 4. The adjustment of carrying a few cloth pads around (instead of the disposables — not that big of a change).
End note: I did not mean to turn this ask into a novel, but I am just so passionate abt this topic. So many ppl will go into the minutiae of cloth rags and cloth napkins instead of paper towels and paper napkins, the evils of plastic straws, and reusable bags instead of plastic — but not a peep abt the amount of disposable products used for 3-5 days (longer if you’re unlucky like me), every month (or every few depending on birth control, irregular cycles, etc.), every year for decades (think between 3-4 decades depending on start time and menopause) for millions of women worldwide. That’s SO MUCH. And here are two, slightly difficult but worthwhile, choices that can decrease the amount of disposable products clogging up landfills by the thousands long term. As one of the websites I linked says: “The average American woman uses nearly 17,000 tampons in her lifetime — or as many as 24,000 if she undergoes estrogen replacement therapy. And that’s just tampons.”
HELL. FUCKING. YES! Thanks so much for chiming in, baby. We love it when bitchlings share advice with the whole class, so never be afraid to write a long ask with good information.

Ok I have a question , but first I will like to say your blog is the best one I have ever seen ❤️❤️your like a big sister giving advice, so i have a question, how can I get my 🐱 and 🍑 soft ? And how can I keep them both fresh and smelling good. It embarrassing to say this but I just need help, when I asked some family members they turn they face up and act like they never smelt before, so I just need help atp.
Aww thank you so much! As an esthetician this question is right up my ally as kitty care is my specialization. 🐈‍⬛🎀
How to keep your kitty + peach soft:
Go in for a Brazilian or Bikini wax. This is a great way to get rid of any unwanted hair and can help prevent ingrown hairs as well. If pain is something that worries you try sugaring instead! It is recommended to get a wax every 3-4 weeks when the hair is about the size of a grain of rice.
Invest in a vagacial or booty facial. These are a great way to keep both areas soft, smooth and free of hyperpigmentation. This can be done once a month but can also be done every 15 days depending on the skin type and skin concerns for that area.
If you choose to shave make sure you are using a good + clean razor. Razors should be changed out every 5-7 shaves! Shave against the grain of your hair for the best results!
Laser hair removal is another option. Note that laser hair removal does not get rid of hair growth permanently but it does slow the rate of your hair growth tremendously. Electrolysis is the only method to completely remove any unwanted hair.
I use the Peach & Lily KP Bump Boss as a way to keep my skin extra soft and smooth. I only use this on the Mona Pubis area and do not use it on any other sensitive areas of the kitty.
Use Fur Professional products! Their line is used by many estheticians including myself for both intimate areas of the body.
Cleaning 101:
Your kitty cleans itself regularly which is why some people only clean theirs by rinsing with water. If you choose to use a soap I recommend Dove’s Unscented Body Soap or Dr. Bronner’s Pure Unscented Castile Liquid Soap. Remember to only wash your Mona Pubis + Outer Labia area and avoid getting soap on sensitive areas.
Summer’s Eve products should only be used to restore your pH and to provide temporary relief for minor irritation or itching.
Remember all kitty’s have a certain scent that many describe to be like a bread scent. If the smell is strong, continues to worsen or begins to cause pain and itching please contact a health care provider!!!!

I've seen you answer a few asks about whaling history before, so hopefully I'm not offbase asking you questions out of the blue? But anyway, how did people bathe (or keep clean if not by bathing) during long sea voyages?
Not off base at all! Out of the blue whaling history questions are some of my fav asks to receive; I find them thrilling. I can’t help but write an essay every time.
It was particularly hard to keep clean on a whaler, and whalemen were often disparaged by those in other maritime professions. In 1839, naval Lieutenant Charles Wilkes said of the crew of the whaleship America,
“I have seldom seen at sea a more uncombed and dirty set of mariners than his crew.“
J.E. Haviland of the Baltic, 1856, complained of besmirching his journal pages with the grime that he was unable to scrub off his hands after tarring the rigging, self consciously saying:
“My hands + clothes would look beautiful for a ladies Parlor. I see they even collor the paper but I cannot get the tar out. The Old Man says he intends to have me tar down the rigging a few days before we get in New Bedford so that I shall not forget too soon that I have been a sailor.”
General ships’ work  such as tarring could be messy, but a whaler’s work was even messier. When trying out blubber it was futile to attempt maintaining any semblance of cleanliness during the process. William Abbe of the Atkins Adams, 1859, said that during boiling, a watch would turn in to their bunks a few hours rest, merely ‘after wiping off your bare body with oakum to take off the thickest of the oil”.
But the gore and oil wasn’t forever. After the particular job was done the ship would be meticulously cleaned, and the whalers would tend to themselves too. As Herman Melville wrote,
“The crew themselves proceed to their own ablutions; shift themselves from top to toe; and finally issue to the immaculate deck, fresh and all aglow, as bridegrooms new-leaped from out the daintiest Holland. Now, with elated step, they pace the planks in twos and threes, and humorously discourse of parlors, sofas, carpets, and fine cambrics; propose to mat the deck; think of having hanging to the top; object not to taking tea by moonlight on the piazza of the forecastle. To hint to such musked mariners of oil, and bone, and blubber, were little short of audacity. They know not the thing you distantly allude to. Away, and bring us napkins!”
Haviland expressed gratitude in getting a chance to get clean after all the work of boiling blubber was done:
“I feel much better to day I have given myself a good wash + a clean shave + got in all clean clothes. You would not have known your own son if you could have seen him yesterday. I was nearly black with smoke + dirt. (with shame) I say it was the accumulation of 2 months dirt + 4 months beard. Everything looks as clean + bright as it did before we took the whale”
Being able to bathe was such a highlight that Abbe titled one of his journal pages “Washing myself!!” With TWO exclamation points!
“I write with pride in my fastidious journal that this morning I washed my face + hands with castile soap + fresh water — when shall I do the like again? When shall I write the pleasant and comfortable fact that I have shaved? The future and fair weather only can tell.”
The ship’s slop chest—its general store—had toiletries for sale, often at a very high premium. Whaling account books show men buying pounds of oil soap for their own personal stores. The fresh water was often rainwater collected for this purpose, rather than the casks set aside for drinking.
“This has been a rather squally day,” wrote Mary Lawrence, whaling wife who accompanied her husband on his ship Addison in the 1850s. “Considerable rain has fallen, and everybody on deck is using an abundant supply of rainwater for washing purposes.” She also added, though this is speaking of laundry rather than bathing, “Having stopped up the scuppers, the use the whole deck for one grand washtub.”
They’d use the sea, too. John Martin of the Lucy Ann, wrote of bathing via rain and sea whilst near the equator on January 24th, 1842.
“Towards noon the rain came down in torrents. The weather being sultry the watch on deck shipped off their shirts to it. John the boat steerer went entirely naked with the exception of a handkerchief tied around his privates. In the afternoon it cleared away, when I asked permission from the Captain for the crew to take a bathe over the side. He said we might do it if we rigged a studding sail over the side, which was soon done & all hands that could swim were to be seen jumping from different parts of the ship. Some went out to the end of the flying jib boom & jumped off there. Even the dog was thrown overboard & got his share of washing. I like bathing at sea but for one thing, and that is sharks. I always have a fear that one might be hovering about and give one a nip before he was aware of it.”
It was challenging for whalers to keep clean by nature of the job, but man when they were able to they really seemed to revel in it. For many of them it was more than just a bath; it was a symbolic return to a home they were long away from, or to the man they perceived themselves to be back on shore, or of a society that they felt cut off from in their line of work.
If you’re interested I also wrote a thing about doing laundry on whaleships too, yonder!

Hello to all of you with laundry on chairs, etc, whose executives also fail to function, hope you're well, etc.
Just want to recommend this book to anyone who dislikes laundry or can't keep on top of it! I listened to the audiobook a couple months ago and it has changed the way I do laundry. Here's a TL;DR summary but if you can get this book from your library or whatever it's a charming, easy, quick read.
The basic gist of this life-changing laundry method is, you look at your week. You pick a day that works. That's laundry day babey. Six days a week, don't worry about it. On laundry day, do something. (Caveat: my laundry day is nominally Wednesday but well. It does shift around! For my two person household, as long as I don't go longer than 10 days between Laundry Day we're fine. Your mileage may vary.) Laundry!
Laundry Day, per the method in Laundry Love, is a celebration. One puts on a fun playlist. One watches a trashy romcom while folding. One has a disco ball in one's laundry room, etc. Laundry Day is for enacting care on the things that go on your body everyday.
(I've not quite got that far, but I do try to make it pleasant. I like an audiobook or a podcast.)
The method has you split your clothes into lights, darks, warm colors, and cool colors. I don't think this is like, totally necessary - I like to do it, but if it was a very low spoons day, just sort of making two to four mid-size piles regardless of color would be fine. It is handy to have more smaller piles rather than one or two big ones, in my experience - more on that later.
Before you wash each load, ideally you pretreat stains (the book goes into detail, i mostly just scrub soap onto stains with a toothbrush which mostly works).
(There are also ways you can process silky fabric and wool fabric to allow it to go in the machine instead of dry cleaning or just chucking it in and hoping for the best! Basically: laundry net bags. Silky things in them. Roll up wool sweaters or w/e tightly, then put in the net bag, and pin down the excess. But also, if you don't have silky or wool things, like. Don't worry about it.)
Each load of laundry is washed on warm, on the quick cycle, with extra/high spin. Use like. A tablespoon of eco-friendly clothing detergent. I use a tablespoon of washing soda in the detergent drawer of my front loader and 2 tablespoons of castile soap in the drum of the washer, because Nancy Birtwhistle from Great British Bake-Off told me to, and it's very cheap per load and very effective. But it is better to use eco friendly stuff where you can because it leads to less irritants and pollutants and, this is key, less buildup on your clothes. And use less -- a tablespoon is plenty.
The short cycle on warm is enough to get your clothes clean! Without letting them get too beat up for longer than they need. The extra spin gets them dryer so they take less time to dry.
It is ideal to dry things by hanging them on a line or whatever! That's the platonic ideal of laundry. Clothes last longer and smell nice if you dry them outside. But I've had a Month Or Two and I've been using the dryer. It does wear your clothes out faster and uses up not-strictly-necessary energy but you gotta make it out of the laundry chair cycle somehow so do what you gotta do.
The good thing about the three or four small-to-mid piles of laundry is, as they come out of the dryer, you can fold it and put it away promptly, and it can feel far less overwhelming than looking at Mount Laundry.
Rotate through the piles you made earlier - quick cycle in the wash, dry them somehow, put them away. Only one day a week! The book suggests this takes 3-4 hours. I get tired if I try to do it all at once so I tend to let it take all day, taking breaks as necessary, but it's like, my only chore to do that day. (I still sometimes leave the last load of laundry in the dryer...)
The book offers tips for if you use a laundromat too! I don't, so can't speak to that. I think, though, having the same mindset: one day a week (ish) everything gets done. Some weeks that's aspirational, but there's always another go.
But, crucially: if it's not Laundry Day, simply do not worry about laundry. Put it in a hamper and that's that.
It's not perfect and it won't work for everyone I'm sure, but I learned a lot from the book (despite having a background in costuming and being a hobby sewist - I know about taking care of fabric! And I learned a lot). I really enjoy assigning a day to be For Laundry, and just allowing it to fall off the radar the other days. I always know another Laundry Day is coming.
Anyway! That's me done being bossy on the internet today. Happy laundry!

Soooo I heard that you wanted someone to request some smut? Well I'm here... I am requesting most graciously and politely... Regarding that green armored god of the Dune Sea. Just a small Thot of the reader seeing that Boba is having a rough day, and decides to put on a little dance and... Entertain him.
Do with this what you will, please feel free to make as smutty as you wish 😏😉
DEEP DICKIN’ UNDER THE CUT.
Tumblr media
Boba Fett isn’t entirely sure how he managed to ensnare and then keep you - you’re a young, sturdy thing with big dark eyes, firm skin, and a voluptuous figure. You don’t seem attracted to power, specifically, but it’s clear you appreciate your life at the palace. You tend not to lounge - you’re kinetic without being too busy. You’re always doing something productive with your time, either around the palace or in town. Boba often wonders if you worry about “earning your keep” like Krrsantan or The Mods, and he reminds himself as he sits through the particulars of a dispute between two of his vassals that he should reassure you more often. After all, you handle many of the social obligations on his behalf with grace and diplomacy, allowing him to spend more of his time problem solving and less of it politicking. He has no great love for either, but he’s saddled with the lesser of the two evils because he has you.
It was a challenging day. Mok Shaiz may have been a scheming, treacherous leach of a mayor, but he’d been right about one thing: running a crime family is more complicated than bounty hunting. Boba Fett is glad to be done with the lonely life of a contract hunter (and sometimes killer) but that made the responsibilities of Daimyo no less burdensome. He’s grateful to be finished for the evening - conflicts resolved, streets relatively free of the most vicious criminal elements, house in order.
He’s looking forward to a quiet evening, perhaps a soak in a steam bath as the twin suns set. Perhaps he can tempt you to join him, he thinks, imagining how you’d feel wet and slick with perfumed castile soap, his hands gliding over your soft body. Your fleshiness, the give of your supple body against his hands, is the perfect complement to his own hardness.
Boba Fett is pleasantly surprised to find you already in the chambers you share wearing far less than he remembered you leaving the palace in this morning. An ensemble of gauzy black fabric and delicate gold chains. He takes a seat on a lounge chair near the window that overlooks the Dune Sea and the setting twin suns, turning the chair to face you. He pats one of this thick thighs with one hand and beckons you with the other.
“Come here to me, little one.”
You oblige, ever obedient to your Daimyo, but instead of sitting gently down on his thigh you straddle his waist and press your breasts into his broad chest. His armor is cool through the fabric and the gold chains make a soft clink against the beskar. He squeezes your meaty hips and plump butt, then stops to consider before removing each glove by biting the tip of the ring finger and continued squeezing and kneading with even more enthusiasm. You rest your hands on his shoulders and place your lips at the juncture of his neck and jaw. You were meant to entertain him this evening, but he can see now that he’s distracted you. It’s just as well - he’s never been able to resist you but perhaps tonight he can teach you what it means to be properly appreciated by a Daimyo. He frees your breasts and rocks you back in his lap so that he can take each of your nipples in his mouth. You gasp first at the feeling of your nipple being gently tugged between his teeth, then at the cool feeling of the evening air against your wet breast as he moves to the next nipple. His large hands brace you by your ribcage and the squeeze makes you feel momentarily corseted.
Boba Fett is a patient but not infinitely patient man, and he can only play with you for so long before the need to sink himself inside you overtakes him. Standing, and lifting you with him, he nearly throws you down onto the bed. He disrobes hastily, his armor clinking loudly on the cool stone floor. He pulls you to the edge of the bed by your ankles and runs his hands up your legs to hook his fingers around the sides of your panties. He slips them off of you and then leans down to kiss the insides of your thighs.
“Tell me what you want, mesh’la.”
You reach out for him and he settles with his hips between your legs and his hands once again on your ribcage. You run your hands up and down his biceps, feeling the power in his muscular arms.
“I want you inside me, Daimyo.”
He reaches down between the two of you and coats his fingers in your wetness, using it to lubricate his throbbing erection. You grip his forearms as the head of him nudges into you. He bends down to push a few strands of hair out of your face and kiss your forehead.
“Easy, little one. Relax and breathe.”
Allowing him to fill you is always a slow process. Boba Fett knows from experience that he is above average in both length and girth and that care must be taken with lovers. He forgot himself once and left you sore and injured - the sight of you wincing the next day remains a powerful regret, and since then he’s taken deliberate care at the start of your intimate encounters. There will be time enough for the kind of powerful, snapping thrusts you both enjoy so thoroughly. For the moment, he wants to watch your relax underneath him.
He listens to the sound of your breathing and feels for the settling in your body. He holds your jaw in one hand and kneads one of your breasts with the other. He moves slowly at first, building to deep, deliberate thrusts that make a wet noise between your bodies. Your moans are soft, his are throaty and growling. He pins your wrists above your head with one hand and fists your hair.
“Mesh’la, I’ve wanted this all day.”
He moves his free hand down to your hip and braces at the juncture of your thigh. The pace and intensity of his thrusts increases and you feel your self contracting around him.
“Come for me, little one.”
He kisses you and you cry into his mouth. The feeling of you milking his cock is enough to undo him and he grunts as he fills you. He nuzzles you and kisses the side of your face and your temple as you wrap your arms around his neck. He softens inside you but doesn’t pull out. Boba Fett doesn’t want to lose this incredible feeling of closeness with you. You smile sleepily.
“Daimyo, can we take a bath?”
He chuckles warmly.
“Of course, little one.”
