Yang Xiao Long Caregiver Headcanons!

• She's the fun big sister caregiver, no little is bored on her watch!

• She loves playing games with her little, tag? you're it!, pretend tea parties with their stuffies? she's friends with all of them!, going outside and finding cool bugs? look at this one that she found!

• But she knows regression isn't always all fun and games, and when a little is sad, she's tries to be the strong rock they can rely on and cry in her shoulder while she holds them.

• She's loud and expressive and outgoing, so she does much better with energetic littles, not that she wouldn't try her best with more sensitive and calm littles of course! but sometimes she would accidentally scare them or play too rough with them (and she immediately apologizes, a lot).

• She's her little's number one fan, she always cheers them up and encourage them, "you can do it little one! I believe in you", "whoa you did that? that's so cool, gimme five buddy!"

• She's also her little's bodyguard, no one, and I say NO ONE, will even look at her little wrong while she's there, not unless they want Yang Xiao Long to put them in their place.• Her favorite nicknames for her little are: little rockstar, buddy, bug and sunshine!

• She's the best storyteller! she can make up the most amazing stories on the spot! and when she's reading a book, she would make the best voices for the characters.

• While she is fun and caring, she's not the most responsible caregiver, she would allow her little to make (not harmful) pranks, jump in the mud while is raining, and eat sweets before bedtime.

Unknown Ep 8 Stray Thoughts

Last time, Wei Qian sent Yuan away to study in NYC for years after the reveal about Yuan’s feelings. Wei Qian was unable to face Yuan or his feelings, and has been avoiding him for four to five years, even as he’s meticulously kept Yuan’s room clean. It’s clear he misses him, and literally leaves Yuan’s lamp on like he’s burning a candle for him. Wei Qian may not know how to sort the complex feelings in play here, but it’s clear that his brother is important to him, and he’s not doing well without him around. Yuan, for his part, continues to message Wei Qian, completed his schooling, and seemed to maintain his connections with the rest of their family. Meanwhile, Xiao Bao has grown into her role as a model and is now the subject of paparazzi speculation. Also, it seems like San Pang may have feelings for her. We left at Xiao Yuan returning and Wei Qian smiling to himself in relief to hear his siblings bickering in the house again.

“Seen enough?” He came back confident. It’s over.

Episode 8: The distance between us and love

Okay, big fan of Yuan not doting on Wei Qian at the table, and Wei Qian being awkward about it.

I really like San Pang as a character. He has no idea how to navigate the awkwardness he stirred up, and seems even more worried when Yuan thanks him for putting him through this separation.

Not a hickey on San Pang! That better now be from Xiao Bao!

They are from Xiao Bao! And after everything you put Yuan through!

That smile before removing his glasses and grabbing a cleaver was great. Yuan grabbing food and leaning back on the couch to watch in the background seals the moment.

Resorting to fire is a very worrisome sign.

“Good night, Wei Qian,” after pointed commentary about accepting changes as people grow and mature. I see you, sir.

Pairing San Pang and Wei Li Li is a useful way of continuing the exploration about the changes in a formerly caregiver role in a relationship. San Pang is also like an uncle or close cousin figure in this dynamic.

Yuan became a menace while he was in the US. I must know what gays adopted him.

Damn, did y’all not teach Xiao Bao how to cook?

This show is incredibly impressive. It is so assured about every choice it makes. I am particularly resistant to these themes, and even I am taken with the execution here. It’s not skipping the important things we need to tear into if we’re going to discuss a taboo romance.

Regressor Aether headcanons

+ a bunch of different caregivers

These also might be an excuse for me to share some of the ideas for fic's I have planned in my head.

tw: vent regression, meltdowns, general angst

~Wins the hearts of everyone and ends up with a bunch of caregivers and playmates across the land of teyvat. And how could he not? Sweetest little baby.

~90% of his regression is simply involuntarily, which is part of the reason why a lot of the people around him find out about it in the first place

~Vent regresses quite a bit, due to burnout, loneliness, pain, etc.

~Only a few very close people have dealt with him vent regressing. (mostly Mondstadt citizens tbh, Diluc, Kaeya, Lisa, though Xiao and Zhongli might have as well... Paimon is of course the exception) It comes as quite a shock to people when Aether breaks down sobbing over something minor when he usually is such an angel both normally and regressed.

~Beidou who would be the closest to find Aether vent regressed without meaning too. Noticing upon returning from his trip to Inazuma and coming back through the storms how much Aether is shaking and how young he's regressed compared to the times she's had the privilege of being the little's playmate.

~He doesn't want to play, doesn't talk, mostly hides and lets Paimon comfort him. And Beidou is very confused but never gets the chance to ask about, too worried about getting her ship through the storm, and by the time they make land Aether is gone

~Diluc and Kaeya look after him the most. They probably bicker a lot when he’s around though they try not to.

~But Kaeya pushes every one of Diluc's buttons. Carrying Aether around 90% of the time and being so smug about being the little one’s 'favorite'.

~Aether’s meanwhile in babyspace, sitting on Kaeya’s lap, playing with the floof of his caregiver’s cape because he likes the feeling of it and just oblivious to Diluc’s misery.

~Dainslief would 100% have taken care of Lumine regressed before in their travels together. He takes one look at Aether, who's regressed involuntary after the fleeting feeling of his sister being nearby, the rush of hope and then loss of it again, and instantly puts the pieces together that both twins must regress.

~I wouldn't say he tries to take care of Aether or anything, despite the way it's obvious that Aether isn't doing the best and could really use someone looking after him. He doesn't know Aether all that well and tells himself that it seems like Paimon's got it taken care of either way.

~But he's definitely more aware of the other, a bit protective and a bit softer with his words. Calling Aether a nickname, one he always used to call Lumine when she was small, by accident, (thinking like star shine or something else sweet) because old habits die hard and he nearly forgets that, 'no that's not Lumine, not his traveling partner, not his little, not his place.'

~Being told not to stim in public, or getting called out asking what he was doing. It wasn't a mean comment necessarily but it hurt. Not sure who would say it, maybe like Razor who genuinely is asking a question that's then taken the wrong way. Kind of like "Well don't do that. Draws attention." because he's anxious about being in public to begin with. Hmm not sure...

~It's something he masks a lot normally, but when he's small it's often times forgotten. He will be small and super happy, start stimming by shaking his hands, or tapping his palms together and have to force himself to stop because- that's weird, no one does that, quit it, you're just faking... which has gained him a couple of concerned looks from those around him who know him well enough

~Seeing as Paimon can't carry him, Aether takes to carrying her around like a stuffie instead as his own form of comfort. Also he’s just touch starved and likes having someone close.

~Paimon will complain about this, but decides inevitably that it's better than being seen as emergency food

~Speaking of emergency food, baby brain finds it hilarious to try and chew on her hair or her cape. One second she’s holding his hand the next she’s being bit.

~Venti upon finding out the Traveler regresses is like, 'Yeah I'm a great caregiver. ✨I've got this✨'

~He does not

~He ends up regressed alongside Aether and the two together unsupervised just spells trouble.

~Paimon has to go running to Diluc to come and get the two and stop them from causing a hurricane or something because they think it would be fun to play around with their powers. (Could also imagine Kaeya and Rosaria getting involved depending if they made their way over to the cathedral or not)

~Who needs storybooks when you have a dragon dad who's the equivalent of a living one?

~And yes Aether has gone all the way to Liyue from Mond in the span of one night because he couldn't fall asleep and wanted Zhongli to tell him a bedtime story. (It was that or going to Venti, but Venti's stories are usually a lot more lively and not the best to fall asleep to)

~Childe who wants so much to be Aether's big brother while he's small. Buys him a bunch of little gear, stuffed animals, toys, custom pacifiers, really anything he thinks of to try and win the little one's favor. He's is so sure that he's going to be Aether's favorite that he makes a bet with Zhongli over it. (If Diluc knew about this he would have a fit...)

~And Aether just- won't have anything to do with him small. He will either cry, or keep pushing Childe away and whining. He had a full meltdown once where he got overwhelmed enough to call Xiao. Easy to say that ended up in a fight and Zhongli having to step in to calm everybody down.

~His fits are mostly out of fear and distrust. Baby brain sees everything black and white and Childe confuses him more than anything because Childe should be the bad guy here.

~But on one hand he's always nice and he likes the idea of being doted on with little presents and being carried around, and Childe seems like the best big brother that Aether never had.

~But on the other hand their fights have scarred him mentally, and the fatui in general frightens him and he's scared that it's all an act that's going to crumble the moment he gets too attached.

~It takes awhile but he slowly opens up to the other, though only when someone else is around to ‘protect’ him. Probably Xiao. The adeptus wouldn’t trust Aether alone with Childe for a moment

~Xiao has been called multiple times on accident while Aether was small. He comes expecting a fight only to find a small and weepy baby who wants to be held.

~It's gotten to be a problem because the Traveler will refuse to call him when it really matters, like him being in danger, but baby brain will call out for him over something like a nightmare or feeling lonely and small, Xiao is terrible when it comes to anything dealing with delicate emotions.

Hi! Can I possibly request agere!xiao (4 months to 1 year) and have him medically padded due to injuries from the archon war? (I don't know If you're comfortable with padded regressors, so just ignore that part of you aren't!)

•After the intense battles of the Archon War, Xiao's physical and emotional state is fragile. His caretaker, likely someone from the Wangshu Inn or a compassionate adeptus, ensures he's always comfortable. Soft, supportive padding is used to protect his injured body and help him heal !

•Xiao spends a lot of time sleeping, as it's one of the best ways for his body to recover. His caretaker often hums lullabies or uses gentle Adepti arts to soothe him into a restful sleep

•Due to his injuries, Xiao's caretaker uses special medicinal herbs in his padding to promote healing. These herbs are known only to adepti and have soothing, pain-relieving properties

•As a baby, Xiao needs to be fed frequently. His caretaker makes sure his food is not only nutritious but also easy on his body

•Other adepti occasionally visit to check on Xiao’s progress. They provide additional healing rituals and share knowledge on the best ways to care for him

•Xiao’s living space is kept quiet and serene, away from any potential threats or disturbances. This tranquil environment helps his body and spirit recover from the trauma of the Archon War

•Beyond the physical wounds, Xiao's caretaker also pays attention to his emotional state. Gentle cooing, affectionate touches, and constant reassurances help him feel safe and loved, aiding in his overall recovery

•Each morning starts with a gentle examination to ensure Xiao’s injuries are healing well. This may involve applying fresh medicinal herbs or adeptal magic to soothe any discomfort

•Xiao has a collection of soft toys and talismans that he loves to hold and play with. These items provide both comfort and a sense of security

Zhongli AgeRe Headcanons

Zhongli is a flip!

—Zhongli is a flip with a caregiver lean!

—Zhongli's regression age is 1-7! Pretty wide range!

—Zhongli's primary cargiver(s) are Ganyu, Childe, Hu Tao, on a few rare occasions, Baizhu, and formerly Venti!

—Zhongli has a hard time hiding his dragon features when in Littlespace, especially his horns.

—Zhongli is a padded little, he has custom pull-ups that accommodate his dragon tail. Zhongli prefers black pull-ups as they're easier to conceal if he has to go in public while little, but he also likes ones with flower patterns.

—Zhongli is a very clingy little guy, especially to Xiao and the other Adepti, he's scared he'll lose them too. Oftentimes Xiao ends up napping with Zhongli due to this.

—Zhongli uses a pacifier, but only when he's tired or upset. He has a lot of toys, mostly from Childe going a lil overboard. Zhongli's favorite toy is a plushie of Xiao's bird form though, it comforts him when he can't be near Xiao.

—Zhongli LOVES bubble wrap, it'll keep him occupied for hours. He loves the little pops they make.

—Zhongli's primary littles are Ganyu, Xiao, Childe, and when he's in Liyue, Aether!

—Zhongli isn't a very athletic caregiver, so older kiddos are a little tricky for him, he loves all his kiddos equally, but some take more energy than others.

—Zhongli is just as clingy of a caregiver as he is a little. Not that his littles mind, in fact most of them are just as clingy.

—Zhongli has more than once scolded someone for trying to make his kiddos work while in Littlespace, especially Xiao and Aether, Aether is just too nice to say no, and Xiao's too stubborn to admit he's too little to work.

—Sometimes if Zhongli is dealing with multiple littles and gets a little overwhelmed, he'll ask Xianyun to help, which she gladly will.

—Naptime is godly with Zhongli. He has that soothing ASMR voice that just lulls his littles straight to sleep. Zhongli will even sleep beside his kiddos in a chair if he feels it necessary.

Little Venti with Caregiver Zhongli

Having known the shorter Archon for so long, Zhongli can pick up on when Venti is regressing fairly easily

Zhongli has gotten very good at preening wings. He’ll sometimes ask Xiao if it’s ok for him to practice with the yaksha before preening his fellow archon’s wings. When he does preen Venti’s wings he’s always very gentle

Despite how young Venti regresses he has a lot of energy. Always willing to crawl around and explore his surroundings while also getting his mischief that Zhongli has to clear up

When Venti is not causing problems, he and Zhongli will spend their time relaxing and cuddling while the older archon recounts many stories. Zhongli will use his geo powers to make the characters and scenes as he talks

Zhongli loves cooking and Venti likes helping. So when meal times come around the older archon will give the little one simple things to do so he can help in the meal prep
