About Admin
I won't be telling my real name, but I don't mind just being called Kerosene or Kero. I'm over eighteen so if you see me on your MDNI posts I promise I'm an adult 🙏. I'm physically disabled and wheelchair bound, if you want to know more about that for some reason- feel free to ask I'm not ashamed of it at all. I write specifically for disabled readers, as I don't see a lot of fanfiction catering to us. I try to write readers as a rounded person and portray the struggles of a disability. ALSO. SO OPEN TO MAKING WRITING BUDDIES. I'M INSANE BUT ILY GUYS
Request Info
Requests are open! You don't have to be disabled to request particular disabilities. You don't have to be disabled to enjoy my writing either. Either way my posts might reach someone who doesn't get fanfiction representation♥️ If you want to request a disability, but don't want to publicly, please feel free to dm me and I won't even mention you specifically if you don't want. Right now, I write for a generic manual wheelchair user reader. I try not to delve too deep into the cause of the disability, so hopefully as many as you can, can still relate and feel included.

Okay but like past twig and John having a sleepover with tiny da eun and watching her over the summer they would be the best caregivers with her
---
Realistically, I think Terry Silver would hate that. 😬
Not the spending time with John Kreese bit in whatever capacity said time might be spent, but the fact that there's this little kid there...taking up all the damn attention. And he doesn't like sharing. He wants to be the focus. He wants him and John to be the focus and them hanging out. Sure, he charmingly tolerates her for John's sake (and for their Sensei's sake) because John seems taken with her and Terry, he follows John's lead, always, doing everything to appease his friend, but at the same time it's like a clear distraction for the two of them, the adult men, to actually go and do adult men things while out in Korea. They survived Vietnam, for god's sake! They're going through some of the most torturous, backbreaking training known to man under this Master. They've earned their leisure and their fun. Terry's thinking a night out, hookers, blackjack, cigars, some unhinged underground sex club somewhere, down in some nearby city where they preform the craziest things and booze and he'll undoubtedly insist on paying the entire bill for all of these activities too, because why not, but here's this little girl John's playing house with and mothering. Oh, he's a caregiver alright, it is just that Terry thinks John should, you know...stop. It's like, first it is Johnny Lawrence being his hyperfocus back in the States and now it's Kim Da Eun in Korea. They could go out into the jungles of Borneo and Terry swears John would found a pet project for himself there too and there he would be, good, devoted friend that he is, entirely indulging him in it. If he wants to adopt, he should've just said so. Terry knows some people who know some people who can make all the right calls. Sheesh. And what's worse, Master Kim Sun-Yung might just agree with Terry's sentiment and think Da Eun has no business taking up his student's time because this isn't a kindergarten, this is a dojang --- they're his acolytes and not her play-dates, nannies and friends --- leading to punishment possibly ensuing for the little girl. Children with children. Men with men. Keep the two separate is what Master Kim Sun-Yung could say. If Terry discreetly rats her out (which he just might if it means this whole summer camping nonsense is put an end to) he thinks it is well deserved and Terry's convinced it was well deserved too seeing as how this kid downright got in the way of everything, mainly John and him. Master Kim doesn't consider John that good of a student not based on skill, but perhaps due to this lingering softness that should just die already. And it definitely does die by the 80's --- we know that. Terry doesn't have it. That's why he's the actual star golden boy of the dojang. He's duplicitous, he tells on people, he schemes, he's cruel, he's slithery, he's so disciplined and self-content about it he's almost too rigid at times and these are, ironically, top notch Cobra qualities their Master appreciates even at the expense of his own grandchild.
Because Silver knows the creed and ways of things around here.
A little too well, I might add. Takes to it like a fish to water.
He just stands by and blankly watches Da Eun get flogged by her grandfather, even going as far as trying to stop John from intervening. That man doesn't give that many damns for that girl. Perhaps he was only ever just nice enough to warrant Da Eun wanting to fly in to to States decades later, but even that, by the looks of her, she did begrudgingly. First thing she does is ask for John. Woman wasn't at all tremendously pleased to see Terry. Sure, she and her goons immensely respect him and bow to him, but there's no visibly grand warmth there.
But, like, not that we'll ever know for sure, but I feel there's an obvious reason Kim Da Eun likes John Kreese much better in later years and it is the clear fact he was somehow, in ways we'll never see, more genuine towards her. Kids have a way of sensing this. And the adults later on carry this realization forth with them through life. John liked her and Terry was only pretending to, and in fact, probably not even pretending that hard. He never once interacts with her as a child and possibly cordially ignored her and was only ever that typical, artificial manner of faux-polite for the Master's and John's sake. I could be reaching with the characterization but I feel, somewhere deep down, in the vaguest of ways, Kim Da Eun remembers.
Not that Terry dislikes Da Eun, he probably only ever liked her around because John liked her around (And anything for John, right?) but that is probably simultaneously the reason he didn't like her around too much.
#i don't know anon#her grandfather quite literally regularly beats whenever her lays eyes on her being where he feels she shouldn't#which is technically anywhere around him or within his eyesight#and especially when she interacts with the americans#terry silver#john kreese#kim da eun#master kim#kim sun-yung#cobra kai#kk3#korea#character analysis

When I read about abandonment issues I think of Terry Silver and vice versa
Abandonment issues stem from a fear of loneliness, which can be a phobia or a form of anxiety. These issues can affect your relationships and often stem from a childhood loss.
Early childhood experiences are the biggest contributor to developing abandonment issues when you become an adult. The traumatic event might include the loss of a parent by divorce or death or not getting enough physical or emotional care as a child. Emotional abandonment occurs when parents:
Do not let their children express themselves emotionally
Ridicule their children
Put too much pressure on their children to be “perfect”
Treat their children like their peers
Abandonment issues happen when a parent or caregiver does not provide the child with consistent warm or attentive interactions, leaving them feeling chronic stress and fear.
So, maybe Terry’s mother left his father and while she tried to take her son with her, she was threated and left him behind to a sterilised, unloved environment with a father, either lost in his work, and too strict for Terry to be anything but perfect, strong and powerful. And Twig was anything, but. Still he was drafted for the war.
The catefories of people with abandonment issues:
1. don’t allow anyone to get close to them.
2. cope by developing intensely close and dependent relationships with others. It may be easy to see conflicts as a concern that their partner may leave, which makes them act out of fear.
3. have difficulty remaining intimate and close but can also be inconsistent.
Abandonment issues don’t always come from childhood trauma. They can also develop after losing an intimate partner to divorce or death. Either through adult or childhood abandonment, these issues can negatively impact healthy relationships.
Common signs of abandonment issues include:
Giving too much or being overly eager to please
Jealousy in your relationship or of others
Trouble trusting your partner’s intentions
Feeling insecure about your relationship
Having difficulty in feeling intimate emotionally
Needing to control or be controlled by your partner
Settling in unsatisfactory relationships
However, people with abandonment issues live in fear of these losses. They may also exhibit behaviors that push people to leave so they're never surprised by the loss.
People with abandonment issues may be clingy, jealous and/or manipulative.
So yeah,
most of this is copy/paste, but Terry seems to be a poster child for it (in the face of a villain).
However it gives foor for thought about his childhood/early teenage years, his reasons to go to war, his codependency with John, his willingness to do ANYthing to help him, and then leaving before he’s left behind. Again. With an added spice of revenge.

Jo Kirkland Johnston passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family at the age of 92, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on May 19, 1931, in Ozark, Alabama, Jo was a beloved wife for seventy-five years to the love of her life, Dr. Furnie Wesley Johnston. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her family affectionately referred to her as "Mimi" and friends often called her "the Queen" as she was the epitome of a true Southern lady. She was strong in her faith and loved her family to the fullest.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Furnie Wesley Johnston, Jr., a son, James Kirkland Johnston, a grandson, Colbert Wesley Clark, as well as her parents, Admiral Dewey Kirkland and Tannie Lucille Kirkland. Jo is survived by her children, George David Johnston (Maurine), Carole Louise Johnston, Linda Johnston Thompson (Ken, Sr.) and Laura Johnston Etheredge (David). Grandchildren, Thomas Johnston Hanes, Julianne Johnston Ferber (Scott), James Andrew Hanes (Amber) Furnie Wesley Johnston, III, John Kenneth Thompson, Jr. (Suzanne), Laura Lee Thompson, Madison Elizabeth Clark, and Abigail Kirkland Clark, step-granddaughters Rachel Madison Etheredge (Zac) and Mary Katherine Etheredge. She is a great grandmother to Libby Ryan Ferber. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Barton, of Tuscaloosa and Martha, "Snookie" McLendon, of Ozark. Her many nieces, nephews, and family members along with her caregivers will remember her lovingly.
Jo graduated from Bob Jones University in South Carolina in 1948 and attended Birmingham Southern College where she studied piano and graduated with several honors for musical excellence.
Born in 1931, Jo Johnston grew up in Ozark, Alabama where her father, A.D, Kirkland, ran a pharmacy in downtown Ozark. She studied classical music over her career composed over 100 pieces of music. Three notable compositions are the Army branch anthems: "Above the Best," written for the Army Aviation Branch; "Essayons," written fort the Army Corps of Engineers; and "Dragon Soldiers," written for the Army Chemical Corps.
Jo's love for music encompassed more than just the military. She collaborated with her daughter, Linda Thompson, to write three musicals together. She founded Elenjay Publishing and served as president of Apache Records. She also wrote a song for the marriage of the Prince of Monaco, which made it to the Billboard top 100 for several weeks.
Johnston has received many awards and honors over the course of her career. In 1988, she was presented with the U.S. Army's Outstanding Civilian Service Award which was the second-highest civilian award bestowed by the Army. She also received the Katharine Wright Award, the Commander's Award for Public Service, and the Order of St. Michael (Silver) Award. She was honored to have been selected to be featured in the Dale County Music and Theater Mural, the second mural commissioned by the Ozark Mural program, alongside other talented individuals from Dale County who have excelled in music and/or theater.
Jo will be remembered for her beautiful smile and generous heart. She was a woman of passion, strong character, and loyalty. She loved to entertain others by sitting at the piano and making up songs about them. Her grandchildren delighted in this and have many fond memories of this tradition. She was a true blessing and light to others.
Jo's favorite Bible verse is from the book of Isaiah, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." She would quote this Bible verse frequently throughout her life and share it with others when they would go through trials.
A Celebration of life will be held in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in Dothan, Alabama at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 with Bishop Lawson Bryan officiating.

The 12 Archetypes
1. The Innocent
Those who identify with the innocent archetype are sometimes criticized for being naïve dreamers. However, their positive outlook and happy-go-lucky personalities can uplift others. The innocent always tries to see the good in the world and looks for the silver lining in every situation.
Character Examples: Jane (Pride & Prejudice), Lucy (Narnia), Frodo (The Lord of the Rings), Mrs. Harris (Goes to Paris)
2. The Orphan / The Everyman
The orphan archetype represents those who are dependable, down to earth realists. Some people might describe them as a little negative at times. They believe in being practical and doing things that make sense. The orphan is always searching for belonging in the world.
Character Examples: Susan (Narnia), Mr. Smith (Goes to Washington), Luke Skywalker
3. The Hero
The hero thrives on being strong and standing up for others. They may feel they have a destiny that they must accomplish. Heroes are courageous in their quest for justice and equality and will stand up to even the most powerful forces if they think they are wrong.
Character Examples: Captain America, Nancy (Stranger Things), Clark Kent (Superman/Smallville), Harry Potter
4. The Caregiver
Those who identify with the caregiver archetypes are full of empathy and compassion. Unfortunately, others can exploit their good nature for their own ends. Caregivers must pay attention to looking after themselves and learning to say no to others’ demands sometimes.
Character Examples: Sam (The Lord of the Rings), Mrs. Weasley (Harry Potter), Anne Eliott (Persuasion), Little Dorrit
5. The Explorer
The explorer is never happy unless experiencing new things. They may enjoy visiting different countries or they may be happy learning about new ideas and philosophies. However, they find it hard to settle down at one job or relationship for too long, unless the job or relationship lets them retain their freedom to explore.
Character Examples: Indiana Jones, Gimli (The Lord of the Rings), John Smith (Disney's Pocahontas), Merida (Brave), Han Solo
6. The Rebel
When the rebel sees something in the world that isn’t working, they look to change it. Rebels like to do things differently. However, sometimes rebels can abandon perfectly good traditions just because they have a desire for reform. Rebels can be charismatic and easily encourage others to follow them in their pursuit of rebellion.
Character Examples: Maverick (Top Gun), Lois Lane (Smallville), Enjolras (Les Miserables)
7. The Lover
The lover seeks harmony in everything they do. They find it hard to deal with conflict and may find it difficult to stand up for their own ideas and beliefs in the face of more assertive types. They are all about building love and connections to beloved ones.
Character Examples: Arwen (The Lord of the Rings), Six (Battlestar Galactica), Romeo & Juliet
8. The Creator
The creator is born to bring something into being that does not yet exist. They hate to be passive consumers of anything, much preferring to make their own entertainment. Creators are often artists or musicians though they can be found in almost any area of work.
Characters: Salieri (Amadeus), Jonathan Larson (Tick Tick Boom)
9. The Jester
The jester loves to liven up a party with humor and tricks, however, they have a deep soul. They want to make others happy and can often use humor to change people’s perceptions. Sometimes, however, the jester uses humor to cover his or her own pain.
Characters: Lorelai (Gilmore Girls), Merry and Pippin (The Lord of the Rings)
10. The Sage
The sage values ideas above all else. However, they can sometimes become frustrated at not being able to know everything about the world. Sages are good listeners and often have the ability to make complicated ideas easy for others to understand. They can often be found in teaching roles or as mentors.
Characters: Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings), Yoda (Star Wars), Hypatia (Agora), Sam Tarley (Game of Thrones)
11. The Magician
The magician is often very charismatic. They have a true belief in their ideas and desire to share them with others. They are often able to see things in a completely different way to other personality types and can use these perceptions to bring transformative ideas and philosophies to the world.
Characters: P.T. Barnum (The Greatest Showman), Alexander Hamilton (Hamilton), Daenarys (Game of Thrones)
12. The Ruler
The ruler loves to be in control. They often have a clear vision of what will work in a given situation. They believe they know what is best and can get frustrated if others don’t share their vision. However, they usually have the interests of others at heart even if occasionally their actions are misguided.
Characters: Miranda Priestly (The Devil Wears Prada), Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones), Rodrigo Borgia (The Borgias)

do you like sean ? like i know it's john's son but i think he's full of himself and pretentious... i always got bad vibes from him.... also the way he talks to people on twitter sometimes is disgusting
nope! him being a silver spoon/spoiled brat would be enough to make me dislike him, but the way he acts on twitter + the way he started dating his girlfriend when she was 18 and he was 30.... yuck.
i do feel sorry for him though. his father, and primary caregiver, was murdered when he was five; i can’t imagine what it must be like to grow up with that trauma + the upbringing yoko gave him.

— Witch’s Canyon (Supernatural #2), by Jeffrey J. Mariotte
just. I CANNOT WITH THIS.
so the premise here is that dean is faking being stupid (about how the grand canyon was formed) in order to tease sam. and for a minute sam falls for it.
and sam’s knee-jerk reaction is to blame it on john. that he messed up dean’s education so badly. so fundamentally. that dean’s utmost interior self is damaged beyond repair.
which means we’re talking about more than school here. we’re talking about the fundamental building blocks of a person. a soul, if you will. which plato defined as the combination of intellect, emotion, and needs. aka the head and the heart and the body.
intellect = standard k-12 education
woefully lacking. I’m not sure if we ever learn how many total schools sam and dean attend (likely different amounts), but the lack of stable education would have a lasting negative impact on their ability to learn.
case in point: dean. he’s a high school dropout. he consistently self-deprecates (spn book #2). and he doesn’t consider himself as smart as either sam or john.
emotion = emotional development
I’m only mid-s3 on my rewatch but I can name some pretty bad instances of john not meeting (or modeling) sam and dean’s emotional needs.
he misses holidays (spn 3x08), he pits the boys against each other, he’s manipulative, he keeps secrets. oh and how about the big one—he tells dean to MURDER HIS BROTHER if/when he goes demon blood evil (spn 2x01).
needs = basic care of a child
not gonna mince words here. john is homeless. by choice. he stays at motels or in the car or couch surfs—and he forces sam and dean to as well.
and since john is too obsessed with hunting, that means dean becomes sam’s primary caregiver. by default. because there is no one else. dean feeds sam, makes sure he is entertained, that he gets to school. that they have enough money (and all that implies).
which means that dean doesn’t have a primary caregiver. his very basic needs of food and shelter are not met. he suffers so sam doesn’t have to.
and then there’s the survivalist hunter training. memorizing lore, killing monsters, wielding weapons. it’s the antithesis of how to build a soul. I’m not even that surprised that sam thinks dean is damaged. he’s so lucky that he isn’t.
and it’s really because of dean that sam is as well-adjusted as he is. how he made it thru 4 years of college—not the courses or the tests, but just being a normal guy. who makes friends. who has a girlfriend. who no one ever questions about his past. because why would joe-schmo sam even have a past worth wondering about? he’s just like everyone else.
but the thing is. doesn’t cas tell dean that his soul is beautiful at some point? the righteous man and all that. the implication being that it’s because he’s an arch-angel’s true vessel that his soul is so pure and wonderful.
but what if... what if he’s not the righteous man by only birthright? what if his soul only shines so brightly because it was destroyed? john ground dean into dust under his author/father/god heel. but dean just stood up, dusted off the shards, and kintsugi-ed himself back together.
dean took all his broken pieces and found ways to repair them. took the time and got his GED. had bobby and sam to care about him. turned the impala into a home. lined himself in gold and silver and platinum mortar.
and that is what cas saw when he lifted dean from perdition. what ultimately made him fall (and fall in love). if dean was born to be the righteous man. born for a purpose. then in order to fulfill that fate he first had to be broken. and it was in the breaking and the repair that dean crafted himself a brand new soul. a better one.
but no one saw. no one but cas.
because cas has a crack in his chassis. he’s been repeatedly grace-lobotomized. he’s different and he knows it. cas took one look at dean’s soul and understood that it was a template. that he could repair, even transform, his grace. piece himself back together better than before.
only first he’ll have to “break” himself further. run away from his author/father/god (who also happens to be thee biblical god). and leap or fall. depending on your pov.
and in so doing cas invented free will. pledged himself to humanity. to an inevitable human life. to dean.
and then spn 15x20 happened. >:|

REMUS LUPIN.
GENERAL INFORMATION ➤
Full Legal Name: Remus John Lupin Nickname(s): Moony, Moons, Holden Tallfield (Sirius), Tall McCartney (Sirius), Scarecrow Boy (Emma) Age: 18 Gender & Pronouns: Cis male, he/him Sexuality: Bisexual, baby! Date of Birth: 10 March, 1960 Horoscope: Pisces Hogwarts House: Gryffindor Nationality: English & Welsh Occupation (and, if you’re one of the people playing a character close to graduation, future occupation): Remus is currently a student, and as soon as he graduates he’ll be a member of the Order of the Phoenix - eventually he’ll work his first proper job as a bookshop clerk. For a little while. Before it’s obvious why he seems to get sick around the same time every month. Summarized in One Word: Dedicated.
APPEARANCE ➤
Faceclaim: Andrew Garfield Height: 6′3″ Hair Color: Brown, with the faintest flecks of silver already starting to show. Eye Color: He’d call them very light brown, in the right light they seem to shine a bit - yellow. Noticeable Features: Beanpole physique - tall, thin and angular - prominent Adam’s apple, a slightly large nose... though the scar that stretches across it is probably a little more noticeable. The other scars are up there, as well, though those are typically easier to hide; most of the more obvious ones he blames on a ‘hippogriff incident as a kid’ to those not in the know. Typical Outfit or General Fashion Sense: Remus doesn’t consider himself fashionable by any measurable standard but he does, contrary to his own belief, know how to put an outfit together. He tends to stick to warm clothes - he is always cold, a fun side effect of his curse - including well-worn (sometimes holey) jumpers and cardigans, and many of his clothes have a certain... hand-me-down quality to them. Especially his school robes.
HISTORY ➤
Hometown (and, if they’re a graduate or soon to be a graduate, where they live now or will be living soon): Remus was born in Yorkshire but the Lupins moved to Aberdaron, Wales when he was small and he’s lived there most of his life outside of Hogwarts. Once he graduates he’ll be moving into a flat in London with Sirius Black, love of his life, where nothing will go wrong whatsoever. Financial Status: Lower class and quite poor; his family was never well off to begin with on either side, and his curse - and his parents deciding to homeschool him, taking his mother away from her job - has taken a toll on the family finances over the years. Pain potions and attempted miracle cures aren’t cheap, and he is highly cognizant of this fact... as if he needed more reasons to feel some degree of guilt at all times, and he often balks at being “spoiled” by his richer friends because of it. Spoken Languages: English and Welsh - the latter of which he is fluent in, thanks to a lot of downtime spent at home with his very Welsh mother, and his accent is distinctly Welsh for the same reason. He just usually only speaks it fully when he’s some degree of inebriated, or trying to make Sirius laugh. Dream Job: Teacher. Bad Habits: Remus has a plethora of bad habits, stemming from his anxieties and other issues regarding his lycanthropy. He smokes like a chimney when he can steal away to do so. He bites his nails down to the quick, always worried that an accidental scratch will leave a mark on someone else forever, as werewolf scratches are wont to do. He’s prone to staying up too late and forcing himself out of bed early (with the aid of copious amounts of caffeine) to study and, sometimes, to just keep the nightmares at bay. He has on more than one occasion forgotten to eat, or sleep, or any other number of necessary human activities in a day while so wrapped up in his foggy anxiety brain - often during intense study sessions. His friends are typically good at making sure he’s taking care of the absolute basics, at least, but he tends to study too hard, smoke too much, and sleep too little when left to his own devices.
FAMILY BACKGROUND ➤
Mother: Hope Lupin née Howell Father: Lyall Lupin Sibling(s): None, though his parents were considering having another baby before Remus was bitten. Those plans were scrapped, and Remus has never been told. Pet(s): A barn owl named Mercury, who is dependable and affectionate but quite old at this point. He’s still got a few years left in him yet, though. Grandparent(s): Conall and Marion Lupin, Lyall’s parents, have decided to have very little contact with their werewolf grandson. They send him Christmas and birthday gifts every year, but that’s about it. He only has vague memories of them at this point. Hope’s parents, John and Margaret, are blissfully unaware of both magic and their grandson’s curse; they simply know that he’s a sickly boy who doesn’t feel well very often, but they don’t hold that against him. Cousin(s): Hope has two brothers and one sister, all with children of their own - but they live far enough away that Remus doesn’t know them terribly well, as with most kids growing up he was kept fairly isolated in case his secret slip out. Even to muggle kids, a child with scars on his face and hands saying he’s a werewolf might have caused a bit of a family stir. They are all friendly to him on the rare occasion the Howell family has a large get together, but he always feels like the black sheep of the cousins.
MAGICAL ABILITIES ➤
Wand: Cypress, unicorn hair, 10¼ inches, pliable. Patronus (and which memory they’re currently using to cast a patronus if they can, or which one they’d use if they could): Remus’s patronus is a wolf, unfortunately, which means that if he ever had to use one properly against a dementor he’d prefer to cast a non-corporeal one. The memory he’s currently using is Sirius telling him he loved him for the first time, though his arsenal also includes the day all three other Marauders came to him about his lycanthropy and told him they still wanted to be his friend anyway, and the day the other three sat him down in fifth year and showed him their animagus forms for the first time. Boggart: Remus’s boggart takes the form of the full moon – though he knows by now it’s less the moon itself that terrifies him compared to what an unexpected full moon might mean for him and those around him. His true boggart is, of course, himself; the moon is a passive player in the grand scheme of things, so simply seeing it in the night sky doesn’t terrify him. In fact, when it’s the last thing he sees before the transformation starts? He thinks it’s beautiful. OWLS: Ancient Runes, Charms, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Transfiguration, Astronomy, Muggle Studies, Alchemy, Herbology. NEWTS: Charms (O), History of Magic (O), Defense Against the Dark Arts (O), Potions (A), Transfiguration (E), Muggle Studies (O), Alchemy (A), Astronomy (E) What Kind of Magic do They Excel at: Remus is extremely proficient at Defense Against the Dark Arts - it’s the one class he doesn’t feel like he has to study as hard for, and he typically gets top marks no matter who’s teaching it that year. His skills are shown off (and even he, Captain Self-Deprecation, feels a bit of pride about it) well in Dueling Club. They’ll be even more shown off once he gets thrown into the war not even a few months out of school!
PSYCHOLOGY ➤

Stella and the Wolf - Chapter 27. Final Chapter.
You can read it here on AO3, or find the Tumblr Chapter Index here.
For everyone who’s stuck with it to the end, thanks for reading!
Things settle, in the end.
Crazy Kate Argent and her crazy father are the subject of gossip at first, but then it fades. There are other small town scandals that take their place. Gossip is seasonal, cyclical. By the time Stiles gets his sling off, people have stopped asking him what happened the night he got shot.
Peter’s reappearance is the talk of Beacon Hills for a little while. Amazing, what a lengthy stint in a foreign rehabilitation facility and the world’s best plastic surgeons can do. You’d never even know he’d been in a fire.
Even the most dedicated town gossips don’t connect the Hales and the Argents, because why would they?
By the time the school year ends, life in Beacon Hills has returned to normal.
Well, the new normal, which for Stiles includes werewolves and banshees, and dating the Alpha of the Hale pack while trying to pretend to his dad that they’re still just friends. Dad knows better, of course. He presents Stiles with a pack of condoms the week before his seventeenth birthday, “Because god only knows you won’t wait until you’re eighteen.”
It’s a fair point.
It takes a while, but Stiles and Scott repair their friendship, on the unspoken proviso that they don’t talk about werewolf stuff. Scott is still frustrating. He doesn’t want to join Derek’s pack officially, even though it’s his bond with the Hales that’s keeping him from turning into a feral omega.
“It’s just… Allison doesn’t know about any of this stuff,” he says. “I just want to be normal.”
Jackson rolls his eyes. “You’re an idiot, McCall.”
It’s also a fair point.
“It’s Beacon Hills, Scotty,” Stiles says. “She’s not blind. She’ll figure it out sooner or later, you know.”
“Yeah.” Scott’s brow creases. “But, just for now… I want to be normal.”
Stiles feels a tightness in his chest at the longing expression on Scott’s face.
But you’re not, he wants to say. And the more you try to ignore it, the harder it gets for you. And it might be the truth, and they might both know it, but Stiles can’t be the one who says it aloud. He only nods, and watches as Scott walks away.
“I can’t wait to see how this is going to come back and kick him in the ass,” Jackson says.
“That’s my friend you’re talking about,” Stiles reminds him.
Jackson snorts. “So?”
Jackson’s still pretty much an asshole—getting the bite and joining the Hale pack, well, rejoiningthe Hale pack, didn’t magically imbue him with humility or anything—so some things never change.
***
Things settle.
Stella clings to Dad like a barnacle, and Stiles is hurt by that for a while. He feels a little like he’s been replaced or something, because he’s always straddled this strange line between being her brother and being her caregiver, and now it’s like she’s trying to cut him off from one. She wants Dad to tuck her in at night and read to her, and she gets huffy when he tells her to do her homework, and when she falls off her bike and scrapes her knee one afternoon, she refuses to let him put Band-Aids on it.
“Stiles,” she says. “I can do it!” And then she closes the bathroom door in his face.
“Kid,” Dad tells him when he gets home that night, “she saw you stuck in my cruiser, and she saw you with a gun in your face, and then she saw you in the hospital after you got shot. She’s seen, literally, that you’re not bulletproof. She’s seen that you’re just a kid too, and it’s scared her.”
“She doesn’t think I can protect her,” Stiles says numbly.
“No,” Dad tells him. “She just thinks it’s her job to protect you as much as it’s yours to protect her. She’s adjusting, Stiles. Give her some time.”
Things settle.
***
Stiles and Derek are taking things slow, because that’s the smart thing to do, right? Stiles is barely seventeen, and Derek isn’t, and their lives got thrown together in a series of traumatic events, and taking it slow is the smart thing to do.
Stiles knows that.
It’s just that sometimes when he looks at Derek he feels like he’s holding a secret inside him that just wants to burst free.
Because when he looks at Derek, he imagines a whole lifetime with him, spooling out in front of them like a piece of thread, and Stiles can’t imagine ever wanting to be with anyone else. It calms something inside Stiles that he didn’t even realize was so unsettled. He’s happy. It’s such a scant word to encompass everything he’s feeling, but that’s what it is. He’s happy. He loves Derek, and he’s happy.
They’re taking it slow, so Stiles doesn’t say it yet. But also, maybe it doesn’t need to be said?
Because he gets the feeling, when Derek looks back at him with that soft smile of his, that he’s thinking the exact same thing.
***
Stiles and Stella are grocery shopping one Saturday morning when they run into Chris and Victoria Argent doing the same. Stiles is thrown for a moment. Like of course hunters need groceries too, but meeting them in front of the dairy case is still kind of unexpected.
“Stiles,” Chris says. “Stella. How are you doing?”
Stella sneaks some chocolate pudding into the cart while Stiles isn’t watching closely enough.
“Good,” Stiles says, and wishes it didn’t sound so much like a question. “Um, you?”
“Good,” Chris says.
Victoria looks as cold as the yogurt.
“Not so bad,” Chris says. “Listen, have Derek give me a call, okay? It’s time we made an official treaty with the Alpha of Beacon Hills.”
“Oh, okay,” Stiles says. “I’ll let him know.”
Chris and Victoria move on, one wobbly wheel on their cart squeaking.
Stiles exchanges a look with Stella.
Stella shrugs and dumps some more pudding in the cart.
***
Stiles has good days and bad days. So does everyone; Derek, Peter, Dad, and Stella. Even Lydia and Jackson sometimes go too quiet, too still, and Stiles knows they’re thinking about that night Gerard threatened them. It’s…it’s not a small thing to have a gun shoved in your face by someone who fully intends to pull the trigger.
Sometimes Stiles wakes up from a nightmare, his breath sucked out of him, and it takes him a while to remember that he’s fine now, that he’s okay, that Kate is dead and Gerard is in jail.
And sometimes Stella wakes up screaming, thinking she’s seeing Peter burn to death all over again. By the time Stiles stumbles into her room Dad is usually already there, rocking her back and forth as she hugs him tightly, making soft shushing noises to calm her down.
It’s mostly good though.
Peter and Derek have moved into a loft downtown. Stiles and Stella were not happy about that—for very different reasons—but Dad muttered something about not running a halfway house for goddamn werewolves, which is fair. Stiles and Stella go there most afternoons after school anyway. Stella and Peter are working their way through all the Roald Dahl books. Stella reads them aloud while Peter listens avidly.
“I think he misses it,” Derek murmurs one afternoon, drawing Stiles up the stairs to his bedroom where they can make out in private for a while. “Not the coma, but having her voice be this one bright part of it, you know? And kids, too. He misses having kids around all the time.”
Jackson and Lydia are frequent visitors to the loft as well. Stiles has no idea what Peter has told Jackson about his past, but Jackson is a lot more settled these days. His relationship with Peter can be a little snarky, a little barbed, but then, the apple didn’t fall far from the sarcastic tree, did it?
And Stiles finally gets a look at the amazing Werewolf for Dummies book.
It’s totally in Latin.
Fuck. Now he needs to learn Latin, because Google translate is not as helpful as it pretends to be.
So that’s a project for his vacation, he guesses.
On the Friday afternoon that school ends, Stiles heads home, dumps his backpack on the floor, and listens to Stella regale him about all her plans for her vacation.
“Did you feed Matilda?” he asks her, because the kitten’s mewling like he’s going to starve to death if he doesn’t get nourishment now.
Stella hurries off to give him some food.
“And change his litter!” Stiles calls after her. His phone buzzes, and he checks it. It’s a text from Derek: Peter says we’re going to pick up pizzas. Be ready at 6?
Stiles sighs. Really? Like they all need to go? But he texts back a quick OK. Then he checks to see that Stella is feeding Matilda like she said, throws some laundry in the washing machine, and kills time playing some dumb game on his phone for a while.
At just past six, Peter pulls into the driveway in his ridiculously expensive silver Mercedes-Benz GLS.
“Stella! Peter’s here!”
Stella bounces out the front door, leaving Stiles to close and lock it.
When he gets to the car, Jackson is climbing out the front passenger seat. “Peter says Stella gets to ride shotgun.”
Of course he does.
Stiles rolls his eyes and gets in the back.
All the way in the back, which is where Derek’s sitting, looking slightly harried and suspicious, the way he often does when Peter is in charge of any group activity.
Lydia turns around in her seat and clicks her tongue at him. “Plaid, Stiles, really? On a Friday night?”
“We’re going to get pizzas,” he tells her. “Not to the Met Gala.”
***
An hour later, listening to the audiobook of Matilda, Stiles jabs Derek in the ribs. “Hey, Der? We are going to get pizza, aren’t we? Because we’ve been driving for a while.”
Derek sighs.
***
Stella is snuffling in her sleep in the front of the car as they head down the highway.
Lydia and Jackson are curled up together in the middle seats.
Stiles is leaning against Derek in the back, their clasped hands on his thigh, watching the way their fingers twine together as the lights on the highway flash past.
The audiobook cuts out as a call comes in on Peter’s phone.
“Ah,” Peter says. “John, how are you?”
“Peter, where are you?” Dad asks. “And where are my kids?”
“Where are we?” Peter smirks at Stiles in the rearview. “We’re about halfway to Disneyland. See you in four days!”
Stiles turns his head and laughs quietly into Derek’s shoulder, and Derek squeezes his hand.

Conversation
Ruling Planet Deity Archetype
SUN: THE CREATOR
He is a golden Sun god, handsome and strong, with a youthful face and body. He is often depicted with a shining smile as an expression of his warmth and boyish optimism. The Creator is a god of creativity and the ego, associated with the forge, the arts, and sculpture. He is also an embodiment of male fertility and fatherhood, and patron to young children, of which he is very much alike. At his worst, he is egotistical, selfish, self-centered, and arrogant, demanding what is not given to him. He is a god that thrives on love, praise, and attention, and in turn is endlessly generous, proud, and kind to children, artists, and those seek him out.
SUNFLOWERS | ALOE VERA | SEEDS | HONEY | FORGE, FIRE | JAGUAR | SPIDER | PARROT
MOON: THE CHILD
She is a silver Moon goddess, small and fragile. But what she lacks in size and light, she makes up for in emotional strength. She is the daughter of the Mother, and clings to her gravitational pull like a dependant child. The Child governs the tides, the oceans, and all bodies of water, pulling them back and forth toward her whenever she rises into the sky. At her worst, the goddess is needy, clingy, moody, temperamental, and childishly irrational. She needs comfort and security in order to settle her highly reactive moods. But in return, she gives us intuition, compassion, empathy, and all the emotions we feel.
WHITE LILIES | IVY | WATER | ALL WATER-DWELLING CREATURES | BLACK CLOAK
MERCURY: THE SCHOLAR
He is a fat, soft looking young man in a modest cloak. He is most often depicted over a book or a scroll, writing or reading, to show he is a god of knowledge, communication, and intellect. But in myths, he is usually at the center of conversation, debate, or discussion, either teaching in a classroom or in a crowd of his peers. He is a patron of rational thinkers, philosophers, scientists, and anybody else engrossed in their studies. His dark side is his intellectual egotism, short attention span, and tendency to stir the pot out of boredom. But he is a god of intelligence, memory, and language, and gives mental gifts to those who worship him.
BOOKS, SCROLLS | QUILLS, INK | SMALL BIRDS | MONKEY | IGUANA | SAGE | PIPE
VENUS: THE MAIDEN
She is a beautiful goddess, much adored and sought after by the suitors who covet her. The Maiden is depicted as a young, lusty woman with long hair and pouting lips. A goddess of love, beauty, sex, and true femininity, she is sensual and seductive, with a want for beautiful mortals and all the finer things in life. Her darker side comes out when she isn’t desired, where she becomes vain, possessive, jealous, fat, and lazy. But when she is secure in the knowledge that she is loved, she is pure and lovely; polite, cooperative, diplomatic, sensitive, and open to compromise.
FLOWERS | MIRRORS | LACE, SILK, SATIN, CASHMERE | DEER | FOX | HARE
MARS: THE WARRIOR
He is the torrid god of war, violence, and bloodshed, often depicted in battle as a heavily muscled man with rough skin and a thick beard. The Warrior fights first and foremost for his own personal gain, be it to win an item of his desire, attain some goal, or extinguish some enemy. At times his efforts are noble, heroic, justified in their brutality. But at other times, he rapes, pillages, and slaughters scores of innocent victims. He gives strength, conviction, bravery, independence, and determination to those who worship him, chiefly to soldiers, assassins, and hunters on the prowl.
WEAPONS | ARMOUR | BLOOD | DOG | HORNED ANIMALS | ROOSTER | NETTLE | YARROW
CERES: THE MOTHER
She is the green Earth mother, goddess of female fertility, motherhood, pregnancy, family, food, home, and caregiving. She is depicted as a pregnant woman with wide hips and large, swollen breasts. All living things are her children, whom she loves and takes care of their whole lives long. But in this respect, her dark side is that she loses all rational sense when something threatens her child, and cries when they grow the nest and try to leave her. At her worst, she is coddling and manipulative, prone to guilt-tripping and cries of loneliness. At her best, she is protective, strong, soft, warm, and kind.
WOMB | MILK | NEST | EGGS | HOME | HEARTH | CORN, RICE, WHEAT | LIVESTOCK
JUPITER: THE JESTER
He is a nubile man who calls himself a fool, a comedian, a trickster, and a seducer. He sees and speaks the truth nobody else wants to hear through jokes and sarcasm and wit. His charm is in his frankness. He can say things nobody else can, and get away with it, because he can make the gods laugh at their own folly. The Jester is drawn center-stage and to parties, feasts, weddings, and theatre, where he parades his antics on stage to the amusement of the crowd. He is a patron of actors, musicians, travellers, and entertainers from all walks of life, worshipped to rid themselves of homesickness, stage fright, and pre-show jitters.
DRAMA | MUSIC | CARAVAN | MASKS, COSTUMES | COYOTE | GREY JAY | RACCOON
SATURN: THE CRONE
She is an old woman, close to the end of her life, draped in grey hair and sagging skin, criss-crossed with bulging veins and knobby joints. She is the grandmotherly patron of wisdom withered from experience; of the harvest; of elders passing down knowledge onto the younger mortals below. She teaches responsibility, preparing for the future, focus, and sensible choices. To some she is boring, ugly, restrictive, a harbinger of a slow death and the horrors of old age. But she is respected as the one who taught mankind how to harvest and preserve food, allowing them to survive in hard times.
SICKLE | SALMON | MAMMOTH, MASTODON | WHALE | ROOTS | OLD TREES | BONES
CHIRON: THE HEALER
The Healer is an elderly man, scrawny, with a short beard and a body covered in scars and bandages. He is said to be very kind, caring, and gentle, with delicate hands dedicated to his mortar and pestle. He is the grandfatherly patron of the healing arts, of medicine, tinctures, herbology, and surgery. It is said he hears more prayers than any other god, of desperate voices wishing for good health and to overcome what horrors they’ve fallen to. At his worst, he is useless, an embodiment of false hope in desperate times. At his best, he is a miracle worker, able to pull mortals back from the void.
MORTAR AND PESTLE | ST. JOHN’S WORT | WEREWOLF ROOT | BETONICA | ACHILLEA
URANUS: THE USURPER
His face is hidden, so we do not know if he is a young man, or an old one. What we know is that he is a disruptive, anarchic, rebellious man, set out to overthrow those in power and free the people from tyrannical leaders. Revolutionaries pray to the Usurper more than any other group, for he is the embodiment of their cause, no matter what it is. At his worst, he is a god of madness, chaos, mayhem, and destruction. He is both feared and hated for the disruptive changes he brings upon society. At his best, he is a symbol for freedom from slavery and subjugation, of revolution, and a leader for anyone who feels abandoned or alone.
SWARMS | POISON, VENOM | WOLF | STORMS | DISEASE, MADNESS
NEPTUNE: THE MYSTIC
She commands the veil that separates this world from the next. When we are born it is she who pulls out a droplet (a soul) from the sea of creation. When we die, she is there, easing our soul back into the waters of the afterlife, where we dissipate and become one with one other. She is a goddess of birth and death and rebirth, of magic, sleep, dreams, drugs and alcohol, and spirituality. Associated with death, she is frightening, foreboding, morbid, and macabre. But associated with birth, she is joyful, exciting, and a welcome sight.
POPPIES | PEYOTE | MUSHROOMS | VEILS | BUTTERFLY | FROG
PLUTO: THE MONARCH
She is a queen, a patron of royalty, money, precious metals and jewels, and seats of power. She represents those who reign safely from the throne rooms in castles in state capitals. To many she is an abusive, tyrannical, exploitive Monarch who exacts war and violence upon those under her control. But to others, she is a dedicated and faithful ruler who serves her people loyally. She and the Usurper are forever battling against one another, with him trying to overthrow her, and her trying to stay in power, the two of them locked in an immortal, unwinnable battle for all time.

Head Canons about Terry Silver
Day 17 of writing Challenge. Head Canons.
Karate Kid Fandom- A Careless Man’s Careful Daughter Verse
Trigger Warning- Sexual abuse mentioned. Parents death mentioned.
I own Nothing.
Head Canon about Terry Silver for A Careless Man’s Careful Daughter
He was an only child of very wealthy parents. His parents were old money. They were very cold and distant and never felt that they loved him. He was just the ‘heir they had to have’.
Money for anything was never an issue, so he never learned the concept of what’s normal and what’s not with it. Like, he spoils Becca and the twins, partially because he wants to, and partially because he doesn’t always realize what he did was extravagant. Becca wants a cheap Casio keyboard so she can practice in her room instead of downstairs at the piano, he buys her the top of the line with every feature, but at least that was for her birthday. Emily and Amy want a coke and candy bar? He gives them a ten-dollar bill, without realizing that one dollar, definitely two, would have taken care of them both. He’s not showing off, he’s just kind of clueless. If it gets too ridiculous, John or Cara will stop him.
John saved his life several times in Viet Nam, including practically carrying him almost a mile to the helicopter from the battlefield when he was shot, but it was more than that. Terry was drafted within a few weeks of losing his parents. He went to Viet Nam thinking that no one would care if he came back and that there were probably a few shareholders and distant relatives who would inherit his parents’ money if he died that hoped he wouldn’t. He found his first semblance of family in the Cobra Kai unit.
His mother caused the accident that killed her and his father because his father was going to leave her for his mistress.
He was raised by nannies until he was sent away to boarding school in Pennsylvania.
He was molested and eventually raped by his boarding school’s headmaster’s wife in his junior year. He never told anyone or even realized that was what was happening because the school knew of her penchant for young men and it was played off as a joke. Being her ‘chosen’ was affectionately termed being ‘Penny’s (Penelope’s) Pet’ and was treated as something of an honor. She was young and beautiful, and boys were supposed to enjoy it, weren’t they? That he didn’t made him question his sexuality for years. He thought there was something wrong with him that he couldn’t just relax and enjoy being with her. He tried to tell his father what was happening once. But his father had just laughed, clapped him on the back, and congratulated him for being ‘Penny’s Pet’ and warned him that he’d heard she’d be jealous if Terry had a real girlfriend and that a jealous or scorned ‘Penny’ could ruin his life.
He’d graduated and moved on, eventually falling in love with a woman and deciding that the problem hadn’t been that he couldn’t enjoy the act, it was that he didn’t enjoy her. He never told anyone else and put it out of his mind until sometime in the early 2000’s when he overheard Becca and Susan talking about a teacher in their district who was caught having an intimate relationship with a student. When Becca said what the woman had done was rape, he questioned why she thought that. She said, “Because she convinced him that she could ruin his future if he told. His body may have reacted to the right stimulation, but it wasn’t consensual by any means.”
He still never told anyone about ‘Penny’, but he did let go of some of the guilt he’d held for what happened.
John was the first person who he ever believed cared about him who wasn’t paid to like his caregivers had been.
He hates being dirty. It’s a trigger for him. He bathes or showers at least twice a day if not more.
He loves cars.
He’s scared of clowns.
He hates most of the concerts he takes Becca to but does it because she loves them, and he can do that for her.
He would literally do anything for John. Or any of the other soldiers who had been in the Cobra Kai unit with him. When John was having a hard time adjusting to civilian life, Terry went out and bought the building and convinced him to start a dojo. Another’s kid got sick and Terry paid for all the medical bills. Another went through a nasty divorce, so Terry brought him out to stay with him until he got back on his feet. Another got into trouble with the law and Terry paid his legal expenses. Etc.
He gave Becca his green beret and silver wings when she graduated from Stanford because they were only things he’d ever worked to earn.
He gave Emily his Viet Nam Service Medal when she was in medical school because anything can be tolerated with the right people on your side.
He gave Amy his Purple Heart when she followed in Cara’s footsteps, joining the Army’s Nursing Corps so that she would already have one and not need to earn her own.
He knows how to play the piano and waltz because his mother thought a ‘gentleman’ should know those things and made him take lessons as a child.
He left everything, except a few sentimental items, to Becca and the twins when he died, making them very well off. Becca isn’t sure how she feels about having his things, or really him, now that she knows what happened with Daniel at the 1985 tournament.
