Idk why i notice these things but Ben Cook does always play the “gay guy who isn’t actually gay”??

Like paterno: everyone calls him the f slur for something that happened TO him. (I’m not gonna get into paterno because if i do, i’ll never be able to stop) they think he’s gay. He is not.

That one law and order episode: he gets called the f slur yet again (this time by his father) even tho he is actually straight

Original sin: everyone thinks he’s gay. He isnt.

The penguin to be fair i haven’t seen this yet so i can’t say 100% but he *is* killed by smn who usually kills women??? But that doesn’t really count tbh…

Aanyway the point of this post is not what you think it is.

I will make it seem a lot worse than it actually is, simply because I don’t know how to express what i’m trynna express otherwise. But that doesn’t mean that this isnt an issue. (I just wanted to make it clear first)

It’s about the fact that he’s straight. And that straight men can still “look” or “behave” twink-y whatever that means in your association.

It’s also about the fact that he keeps getting casted as that: a heterosexual twink. Because apparently casters in this century still believe in those stereotypes that-obviously- arent true

In 1919, his work in Europe done, [Herbert] Hoover returned permanently to the United States. He had lived abroad for twenty years and was something of a stranger in his own land, yet he was so revered that he was courted as a potential Presidential candidate by both political parties. It has often been written that Hoover had been away so long that he didn't know whether he was a Republican or a Democrat. That is not actually true. He had joined the Republican Party in 1909. But it is true that he wasn't terrifically political and had never voted in a Presidential election. In March 1921, he joined Warren G. Harding's Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. After Harding died suddenly in 1923, he continued in the same post under Calvin Coolidge.

Hoover was a diligent and industrious presence in both administrations, but he was dazzlingly short on endearing qualities. His manner was cold, vain, prickly, and snappish. He never thanked subordinates or inquired about their health or happiness. He had no visible capacity for friendliness or warmth. He did not even like shaking hands. Although Coolidge's sense of humor was that of a slightly backward schoolboy -- one of his favorite japes was to ring all the White House servant bells at once, then hide behind the drapes to savor the confusion that followed -- he did at least have one. Hoover had none. One of his closest associates remarked that in thirty years he had never heard Hoover laugh out loud.

Coolidge kept an exceedingly light hand on the tiller of state. He presided over an administration that was, in the words of one observer, "dedicated to inactivity."...By 1927, Coolidge worked no more than about four and a half hours a day -- "a far lighter schedule than most other Presidents, indeed most other people, have followed," as the political scientist Robert E. Gilbert once observed -- and napped much of the rest of the time. "No other President in my time," recalled the White House usher, "ever slept so much." When not napping, he often sat with his feet in an open desk drawer (a lifelong habit) and counted cars passing on Pennsylvania Avenue.

All this left Herbert Hoover in an ideal position to exert himself outside his areas of formal responsibility, and nothing pleased Herbert Hoover more than conquering new administrative territories. He took a hand in everything -- labor disputes, the regulation of radio, the fixing of airline routes, the supervision of foreign loans, the relief of traffic congestion, the distribution of water rights along major rivers, the price of rubber, the implementation of child hygiene regulations, and much else that often seemed only tangentially related to matters of domestic commerce. He became known to his colleagues as the Secretary of Commerce and Undersecretary of Everything Else...

Coolidge didn't like most people, but he seemed especially not to like Hoover. "That man has offered me unsolicited advice for six years, all of it bad!" Coolidge once barked when the subject of Hoover came up. In April 1927, Coolidge puzzled the world by issuing a statement proclaiming that Hoover would never be appointed Secretary of State...Why Coolidge issued the statement at all, and why with such finality, was a matter that puzzled every political commentator in the country. As Hoover had indicated no desire for the role, and the incumbent, Frank B. Kellogg, no inclination to leave it, they were as bewildered as everyone else.

With withering disdain Coolidge referred to his tireless Commerce Secretary as Wonder Boy, but though he sneered, he was glad to have someone to do so much of his work for him....(W)hen the Mississippi flooded as it never had before, it was to Herbert Hoover that President Coolidge turned. One week after making his enigmatic promise not to promote Hoover to the role of Secretary of State, Coolidge appointed him to head the relief efforts to deal with the emergency. Apart from that one act, Coolidge did nothing. He declined to visit the flooded areas. He declined to make any federal funds available or to call a special session of Congress. He declined to make a national radio broadcast appealing for private donations. He declined to provide the humorist Will Rogers with a message of hope and goodwill that Rogers could read out as part of a national broadcast. He declined to supply twelve signed photographs to be auctioned off for the relief of flood victims.

Important Note: Brody and Levi are not dating in this fic, they are just dating everyone else.

It's been a long day. Fighting monsters, getting beaten by the big bad of the week, tossed around like their training dummies until they figured out how to beat the monster with a clever mix of Preston's magic and Sarah's ingenuity. The only bad part is that Preston couldn't be morphed while they fought, since his magic was restrained under the Power. The price one pays, he says when the others bring it up.

Sarah doesn't say it, but she knows it bothers him.

They end up heading back to Brody's house, which he shares with Levi and Mick. Calvin is limping from a well-placed fireball to the leg, Hayley's supporting her ribs where she's sure some Basherbots hit her. Preston's got a black eye and his arm in a sling where he got attacked while doing the spell. Brody and Levi are mostly untouched, natural born Ninjas and masters at protecting their backs while fighting from the front. Sarah, herself, has a bandage around her head from where the shrapnel of the resulting explosion when the monster was destroyed cut her.

Brody shoves open the door and gestures towards the living room. He and Levi disappear up the hall and come back with blankets in multiple colors. Calvin immediately snatches the massive white and yellow one to wrap around himself and Hayley. Sarah snaps up the pink one and leans into Hayley's uninjured side. Levi keeps the golden one, settling in behind Calvin, and Brody spreads the blue one over Preston's legs before spooning up behind the magician and laying his head on Sarah's leg with his back pressed to Hayley and Calvin's knees.

"Movie?" Levi asks, grabbing the television off the couch and turning it on.

"Tom and Jerry," Sarah offers in response, seeing a marathon on Boomerang. Levi selects that channel immediately and puts the remote back down. With that, it's just the six of them existing together peacefully. Hours pass like this, them ignoring the world as they unwind from the battle and the fact that they'd almost lost each other again. Maybe it's not so shocking that they start to fall asleep.

Preston goes to sleep first. Magic is still new to him, so he's tired way quicker when he uses his magic. He's followed by Sarah, who's overextended herself in battle once more. Hayley and Calvin are awake one minute, watching Jerry chase Tom around painted as a white mouse, and asleep the next, Hayley's head on Calvin's shoulder and Calvin leaning back against Levi's chest. Brody's out next, curled protectively around his Blue. Levi's asleep not long after.

When they wake the next morning, no one worries about it. There's no school or parents to appease. There's no Mick calling them for training. There's no reason for anything to bother them, so they stay cuddled together on the floor, only getting up to get food and use the bathroom.

It's how they prefer it anyway.

a ship that might surprise others: ra'sliam (william cobb x ra's al ghul) this ship is virtually non-existent and was created by me but i think those 2 have a lot of potential. william genuinely hates the waynes while ra's wants bruce as his heir, both have grandsons (great-grandson for william: dick grayson!) adopted by bruce, both are immortals of atleast 100+ years, both are assassins and apart of groups wanting to control gotham-- part of my love for this ship (& the court of owls' relation with the league in general) is from the gotham knights game, which doesn't have william or ra's in it but it focusses on the relationship and tension between the league and the court (while the batfam is dealing with bruce dying for real this time!). there are a few more ships i love that are virtually non-existent (grant wilson x dick grayson), etc etc.

last song: dancing in the moonlight by king harvest . i was goin thru some 80's music because i recently stopped using major streaming platforms (spotify apple music youtube music pandora etc etc etc) and have switched to a 🏴‍☠️d one. currently trying to rebuild by spotify playlist of 11k there so my usual music has all just been 80's as of late

currently consuming: nothing!! i did have sea salt chips earlier though, 10/10.

Calvin picks up the phone on the first ring, balancing it between his ear and his shoulder. "Hey, babe!" he says excitedly. "How'd the magic show go?"

"Hi," Preston replies softly. His voice sounds wrecked, cracking and breaking. Preston sound like he's been crying.

Calvin abandons his paintbrush and stands straight. "Baby, what's wrong?" he asks immediately.

"Uh," Preston replies. "Dad called me today to talk about my progress at school." Which means that Marcus Tien was told that Preston had picked up an extra class called the History of Magic and Slight of Hand that the university was offering special this year. "He didn't exactly approve."

Calvin makes an understanding noise. "Aw, Prest-O," he says. "I'm sorry."

Preston sniffles. "I'm... I'm good enough to be a professional magician, aren't I?"

Calvin nods, forgetting Preston can't see it. "Of course," he replies without hesitation. "Pres," he murmurs. "You're so talented and so passionate. You're gonna do great things no matter what."

There's silence for a moment, then Preston replies, "Thanks, Cal."

"Anytime, love," Calvin says back.

So tbh I've always liked fnaf and I've always liked the concept of robot mascots having lore. I may not know the whole lore of fnaf but one I do hate about it is that they lowkey do have potential but messes it up time to time. So hey? Why not do my own fnaf lore, okay lore dump time!

(This is the vibe I wanted to give, this series is HEAVILY inspired by FNAF: Security Breach and Sister Location)

LIESELOTTE: CIRCUS ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX is an entertainment complex owned by CircusTechies company. They're the number one children's entertainment company, expanding their creativity and their knowledge for AI (a.k.a CyberClowns as they're called) as they have rebranded again and again over the years. They're also a highly independent company leaving the CyberClowns to work on their own as LCEC has very little human staff members but a lot of CyberClowns.

The main mascot is Lottie the Ringmaster accompanied with the other mascot performers.

The Arieal Artist; Bertha the bird and Gary the Elephant. The contortion; Octavia the Ostrich. The Tightrope Walkers; Clownerina the Doll and Mony the Monkey. The Conjoined Twins/Jugglers; Haze the Hare and Bunz the Bunny. The clowns; Giggle Dimples, Snoots Flops and Alfred Waldo. Then, the Stunt Perfomers; Poly, Pauline, Persephone and Percival.

Then there are the special's, The Freakshow Band; Beau the Butterfly, Sage the Spider, Sloane the Squirrel and Reese the Rat.

Clownpierce Restaurant and meet; Pablo the Pig, Calvin the Cow, Harper the Horse, Darcy the Deer and Clownpierce waitress bot.

There's also a daycare: Globy's Friends and Adventure Daycare meeting; Globy Globe, Rocko Rock, Starry Star, Clamy Clam, Kat Cat, Charles Clock, Candy Gumball, Manny Mannequin, Merchant Boar, Mia Microphone and Icille the Ice Queen. (Based off a show that the company revived)

Then don't forget about the side CyberClowns; Gretchen the Fortune Teller, Mark the Magician with his partner Butterscotch, Poligon, Axi the Axolotl and Penny the Penguin.
