how similar zuko and ozai look from side profile got me thinking:

i mean they have the same straight forehead, same brow, and the long and sharp nose. having a familial resemblance to the person you hate most in the world is real and it sucks. i imagine this bothers zuko for a long time, bc every time he looks in the mirror he's reminded of ozai.

I just had the most cursed thought

Imagine if you and him had a bet where if the Lions won that match, YOU had to be the one wearing the maid outfit. If they lost, HE would have to. But since it’s universally agreed upon that Marshall is a cocky lil dumbass he agrees thinking that there’s NO way the Lions are gonna lose this year

And for the first half of the game he’s all smug n shit thinking they have this in the bag already so he’s already thinking about what kinds of stuff he’ll have you do in that outfit while gleefully hanging that bet over your heads in a subtle way considering no one knows about it except you two

AND THEN COMES THE BIGGEST COMEBACK IN NFL HISTORY. IT’S A TOTAL UPSET. A 17 POINT LEAD BLOWN OUTTA THE WATER LIKE A BLOW-HOLE COMING OUT OF A WHALE.

The creeping dread as the 49’ers slowly catch up, tie, and finally take the lead suddenly turns the whole dynamic around. Now he’s the one sweating and looking at you nervously while you’re trying to hide the grin on your face. When the game was tied he literally starts praying (as you all know) because out of all the outcomes this game would’ve had, he did NOT prepare for what might happen if he lost cause he was SO SURE he was gonna win.

The moment he knew it was over for him and you won he gave you a silent pleading side-eye while he’s acting all pissed, already trying to think of ways to compromise on the deal or to make up something else for your win. But he already knew his fate is sealed once you guys got back home.

The best part? He already bought the damn thing before you guys left to go see the game the day before. AND it’s got a fucking collar and cat ears.

Also I am SO SORRY FOR DELAYING, after doing more research for timeline accuracy I realized chapter three has been moved to chapter 4 and now I have to write chapter three as the timeframe in between (you’ll understand once it comes out also technically speaking chapters 3 and 4 are gonna be releasing simultaneously at this point)

@orangerosebush's post here, with my comment and @fowlblue's tags today got me thinking.

Artemis Senior has been teaching his son matters of business from a young age. Not only was Artemis, at 11 years old, discussing stocks with his father, but Fowl Senior had been imparting his wisdom onto his son for years by that point, discussing the ever-increasing value of gold with him before tucking him into bed. Even outside of pure monetary value, Sr. had tried to go legitimate with his business dealings, leading Artemis to have a few legal ventures of his own.

We also see very early on in the books that Artemis has been regularly using Butler as a resource for his plots: bouncing ideas off him was apparently a fairly common tactic when he was scheming.

Both Artemis Senior and Butler are interested in (or at least, not opposed to) educating Artemis on the ways of their lifestyle(s). It would be Artemis Senior who would have taught his son the value of banks and safety deposit boxes and hidden safes but it was Butler who was actively working with Artemis to rob those safety deposit boxes.

In the same vein of breaking-and-entering, TLC also gives us the fun little moment where Butler hands Artemis his own lockpicks, to get into the workings of the bomb.

With one line we learn that Artemis knows how to pick locks, but does not have his own set of lockpicks. Butler, on the other hand, has both the tools and knowledge how to use them. Partnered with a brief mention in TTP of some the specific trades of those previously employed by Artemis Senior (including such things as crime lords, insider traders, and cat burglars), we can extrapolate that Artemis Senior would generally hire someone to pick a lock for him, rather than do so himself.

It's pretty logical to conclude then that Artemis learned big-picture management from his father, and day-to-day skillsets from his bodyguard.

Essentially, Artemis Senior taught Artemis how to run a criminal empire. Butler taught Artemis how to be a criminal.

as much as I love Durge/Astarion and all of the content we get specific to the two of them, I wish Larian had leaned more into Durge/Shadowheart because their stories work so well in parallel: they both have amnesia, work for/with a dark power, and can choose to either accept that darkness or resist it

I feel like Larian could’ve pushed their relationship, even if not romantic, way more simply because of their shared similarities, but afaik, there isn’t even a mention between Durge and Shart about their respective amnesias, despite that being such a unifying and bonding feature between them, not to mention the pull they both feel towards a darkness that’s hidden by that very same memory loss

I was never interested in Shadowheart until I started a Durge run and found out exactly how similar the two of them are, and it makes for such a compelling story, especially if they either enable each other towards darkness or encourage each other towards lightness

i imagine it's one of the first times you help him out and so you're still not really used to it. it's all going smooth and you think you're finally starting to get the hang of it, when suddenly you hear him suck in a breath. the reaction is enlarged by 1000 in your head because in reality he barely even reacts and there's barely even a little drop of blood, but to you it's like you gave him a full on stab wound in his chest… pepe just looks himself in the mirror and goes "oh" before wetting a towel and cleaning himself up. but you freeze, just blinking up at him and feeling your pulse increase instantly because… you just made him bleed…..

he doesn't even notice your reaction at first – because, again, it's not a big deal to him – but when he does, his eyes soften as they land on him and he instantly cups your cheeks in his hands. he's very "what's wrong? hey, it's alright – i'm not even bleeding anymore! don't cry, please, seeing you in tears hurts more than the cut…" and all kinds of words of comfort just to calm you down :( and then he has to promise you like 10 times that he indeed is alright and give you 100 little kisses to make you feel good again 🥺
