Was feeling kind of sappy while I designed a Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends self insert (He's an Isabella Tiger Moth!) so I decided to doodle up a little mom moment :3 I never realized how fun familial FOs can be until now!!

When Usopp realizes he has a crush on Sanji, he doesn't draw Sanji himself despite what everyone thinks. He starts sketching the sea more. Sea creatures. Food, too. He keeps drawing beautiful pictures of what he thinks the All Blue is. Of all the things Sanji has described. He gets kind of obsessed artistically with the idea of fishes and corals and all the animals Sanji loves. He uses the color blue so much that he actually runs out of it and needs to go buy more because no inspiration comes when he doesn't draw thinking about Sanji, and Sanji is just all blue.

And Sanji keeps looking at his art in awe, completely in love with how he portrays the sea, wondering why Usopp likes this concept so much. But he never thinks it's because of him. So Usopp has the perfect chance to make Sanji smile with his paintings and make him feel what he does for him, without actually telling him the truth. He even gifts some to Sanji, of course, and Sanji keeps them close. He buys frames to hang the paintings in the kitchen, and even if Usopp says it's too much and a bit embarrassing, Sanji says most of his strength when cooking comes from looking at Usopp's art. That makes Usopp have a tiny heart attack.

Then, Usopp draws something that finally makes everything click. He thinks he'll get away with this one too, Sanji loving his art but never realizing what it's about. But Sanji knows. It's a painting of hands. His hands, obviously. Holding what is the whole ocean, different sea creatures swimming inside the bubble, Sunny and Merry right there. And it's a simple painting that doesn't have to be romantic, but it just makes everything make sense for Sanji, and it makes his heartbeat follow Usopp's to the same rhythm. Sanji doesn't say anything but decides to stop cooking for a while only to see Usopp painting. To sit next to him and watch him create.

Ahhh my lego Ed and Stede just arrived! I had a lot of fun putting them in situations so pictures of them living their little lighthouse keeper lives are below the cut.

They've been working so hard on their little house, complete with a special shelf to hold Stede's half of the petrified orange and a lovely letter in a bottle...

And they have plenty of time for Stede to write Ed even more letters!

Ed's fishing is getting better...

Although the seagulls can be a bit pushy about that.

Most days, going out on the water is a good excuse for the two of them to spend time together. Stede likes to read aloud while Ed fishes. It doesn't make it easy to catch fish since neither of them can shut up for two minutes straight, but it sure is fun!

Something I DEF was keeping under wraps, holding it esp close to me.... but I got distracted and oh god I can't remember when I started this but it CANNOT be a year old at this point... surely it was just a bout of off-season Halloween fever.......... surely.....

THEMATICALLY. A bit of a mishmash between Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, but the wolf is also just your average werewolf.

This was esp early in Mani's development, me trying to get a feel for it... and I thought the coolest/funniest way to do that would be to Sothis its ass. You thought you were just a formless apparition that lives in somebody's head? WRONG. GET PHYSICAL FORMED, IDIOT. (It is worth saying, this is just one really weird uniquely cursed Halloween night. Put that thang back where it came from OR SO HELP ME.)

Also ALL of the storytelling you can do w a duo unit. Goes crazy. Goes insane. ESPECIALLY in this case, where it's just two of the "same" person. INSANE.

Please note these are all somewhat early notes!!! And tbh Mani lore is so fucking complicated I have trouble completely capturing it, myself. So... a lot of the information here does hold up. But in some ways, I think I may do things a bit differently... maybe just the presentation of it. I have gotten to the point where Mani has some really distinct mannerisms. So I'd lean heavier into those!

I think I may end up reworking Mani's look, but it is very classic lolita inspired. (Also!! Mimics the silhouette of Moe's typical robe/bloomer look... for a Halloween alt, goes CRAZY). MEANWHILE. MOE.

Moe..... aren't you cold.... or is the fur enough to keep you somewhat warm..?

I'm probably most proud of Cain (the green one) standing in perspective with his sword. It looks really good for something i made in 25 minutes in dutch class and i just keep opening my notebook to look at it qjiqfiqubf
