Oh my gosh oh my gosh we finally get to see Frankie's parents!!! And the question that was on my mind for soo long is finally answered! Their monster types were never specified before, but their dad is a zombie and their mom a goblin. Didn't see that coming. But she's so tiny, I love it XD

Zooble's issue basically being that body parts which feel right for them don't exist feels... Familiar. It's kinda liberating, seeing such a thing explored. I haven't seen it addressed with any nb character before.

Plus Neptuna??? Pretty sure this is the first time we've seen her in the show. She's cute!

When I heard that my ears immediately perked up. Lugosi? That's new.

So turns out the actor who played Dracula in the 1931 movie was named Bela Lugosi (at least that's his artist name). Fun easter egg! And also something I should not take too seriously because otherwise what the hell are the lore implications here-

Scaffolding! I did an internship at a construction company once and I got to climb up all the way to the top of that tall half finished building. And the scaffolding was so see-through. And wobbly! And I loved it.

There were also some spots where you basically had to parkour to get about I had a grand time. I crave the mildly dangerous heights I want to be back on a construction site I want to climb up a crane but if I do that now someone will call the cops on me.

I'm really only making this post so I can easily reference all the mh parents and whatnot, but here's everyone we hadn't seen yet:

Cleo's dad looks awesome, damn. I love that design, he's so pretty!

Finnegan's parents make me question something. See, I thought whether monsters like him and Lagoona have hair depended on the specific monster type, but if his parents are both mer-creatures (which is kinda implied), then... Why does his mom have hair. Instead of a fin. Does this depend on gender??? I really hope not. (Unless his mom isn't a mermaid, then disregard this entirely.)

Here are Medusa and Lyra again because they are prettyyy and I love them already. Lesbian moms ftw.

We know them. But everyone pictured here is going to show up in the upcoming episodes! I was really hoping to see more of the parents so I'm excited about that. Disappointingly, it seems like Frankie's parents and Draculaura's mom won't be there this season :(

Ya know, with core refresh Frankie having a reference to Cleo on their prosthetic...

It gave me the mental image of them doodling things that remind them of her on there during class, and that's my headcanon now, that's too cute.

"Frankie, don't unleash the coffee ghosts!"

And there we have it, my first "proper" (and probably last, for now) time posting fan art. Rambles about the process under the cut, since I enjoy it when other people do that.

So why coffee? I've seen g3 Frankie as a bit too fond of caffeine since the beginning, mostly because of the coffee break two pack (they have a designated coffee buying outfit!) and their creepover doll, which comes with an energy drink. I mean, come on.

Here's basically the process:

The colours aren't quite accurate to the actual drawing (the background is lighter on the photo), but I tried.

The point of this was really just to make something less mellow (as I tend to do) and focus a bit more on shapes, and I thought Frankie would be perfect for that. I used alcohol markers (by Ohuhu) and acrylic paint for the sparks of electricity. Little fun fact, I had to take a reference picture for the separated hand, and the best lid adjacent thing to hold I could find was a tiny trash lid. I mean, if it fits ┐•_•┌

I don't draw humans (or humanesque characters) often, so this was good practice. Killed one of my favourite markers for the trees, but I had fun.

It's a slug!!! Fully hand-sewn cause doing so seemed easier than learning how to use our sewing machine... I'll do so eventually XD But it was actually fairly therapeutic.

Oh! Looks like they're friends now.

He's a big fan of strawberries, can't blame her. And as per the peddler's suggestion, I used a pipe cleaner for the eye stems! Now they're bendyyy

I knew keeping these suckers around for over a decade would be worth it... Also, the single progress photo I took.

This is my first time sewing a plushie, and I had a grand time. Learned a lot along the way, and the ladder stitch that always intimated me is actually super easy XD Wanna know what the best thing about making such a slug is though? The way the eye stalks wiggle about if you shake him sjshsj
