honestly - staying within canon as much as possible - i think nb ian would be essentially the same. he feels content enough with being considered a boy that he never considered any alternatives. he doesnt really learn about genders outside the binary until he dates trevor, and it takes a lot of dismantling internalized cisheteronormativity to fully realize himself

when he and mady start hanging out, he tries the whole "im gay on queer" facade for a few days but it falls apart pretty quickly when he and mandy get high and she convinces him to let her do his makeup. he loves baking with debbie no matter how many offensive things lip yells from the living room. he even kinda likes when fiona and vee and getting ready for a night out and they ask him what he thinks of their outfits

after he and mickey start banging and kinda becoming friends, he asks mickey questions about how he knew he was a guy, how be knew he was gay, etc. and its definitely eye-opening to him. he cant explain why, but it makes him super uncomfortable when transphobes say "youre fucking a trans guy so youre essentially straight" like being gay is just such a huge part of what makes ian ian. he doesnt figure it out for years, but its because being gay is inherent to his gender. being gay isnt just being a guy who fucks guys (though thats definitely the best part). its informs not just how be interacts with other men but how he views himself. his feelings are comparable to that of lesbians and dykes whose genders are simply "lesbian" or "dyke." theres a culture that surrounds it and complicates ones relationship with gender. hes a queer, a pansy, a fag. hes gay!!!

especially after dating trevor, ian sees gender as very performative and becomes somewhat gender-apathetic. he doesnt feel dysphoria and is still comfortable being viewed as a man and calling himself one. but he doesnt have strong ties to maleness like mickey does. mickey knows hes a man. he feels like his body is disconnected to his mind, he hates being viewed as anything other than male, he is very dedicated to the social performance of masculinity. where he gets upset about "not passing enough" if someone asks his pronouns, ian loves when someone asks him and doesnt immediately assume he primarily or only uses he/him. he loves dressing up nice to go to the gay bar (aka show off mickey) and people say "girl i love your outfit so much" "she is the moment!" it just makes him feel warm and sunny inside. he lets franny horribly paint his nails and get lipstick all over his face. he has deep philosophy conversations with liam about gender, sexuality, race, and societal expectations for all 3. he lets mickey introduce him as "spouse" to strangers. he gives mickey second hand embarrassment by referring to his dick in the third person as "she." ian is just vibing and living her best life!!!!

HC with the Purgatory Hall guys

• Simeon often zones out while listening to music and imagines scenarios for his books

Luke once found him just sitting in the kitchen with headphones on and staring into the void. He tried catching Simeons's attention by calling out his name multiple times and got worried when Simeon wasn't responding. He later apologized to Luke.

• Solomon's actually bad at almost anything that's not magic. He spent a lot of his time only studying and researching magic so he paid little to no mind to other hobbies. During the exchange program he started showing interests in new things thanks to Simeon, Luke and MC.

Now they all have weekly meetings in which they try different hobbies together:

- Luke's good at crochet and makes a lot of plushies to gift

-Simeon enjoys drawing and as he says 'it helps him visualizing the TSL world'

- Solomon finds himself enjoying those logical puzzles, the harder the better.

• Luke was quite surprised when he found out that human kids his age, can't do the same amount of things he does. He just thinks it's supposed to be normal being able to cook a whole meal and to study college subjects at age 10.

So when he went to the human world and saw kids acting their ages, he was rather confused and told MC that human kids are quite... interesting and surely lack manners. MC and Simeon had to explain to him that even if he's technically also a 10 years old in angel years he can't expect human kids to grow in the exact same way since he lived longer and got more time to spend on learning different skill. He shouldn't worry about it, after all , MC also was a childish gremlin once and now they are a grown adult that can take full care of themselves.

(On that note, Luke's also slightly more mature than the kids in the Celestial Realm, since he spends most of his time with Michael and Simeon and doing minor errands for them)

while we're on the topic though, college!au feixiao got in on a sports scholarship and does sport science as her major. she's president of the taekwondo club and the college's star tk athlete. you can usually find her training with moze, another member of the tk club, while their friend jiaoqiu, who's doing his phd in nutrition, sits nearby and studies. despite spending almost an unhealthy amount of time in the gym she's still incredibly smart, and gets pretty good grades in her academics. she's your PT if you hit the gym with her, and she makes the BEST workout plans i just know it!!! reassures you the whole time as you start out and is super excited when you can move on to bigger weights. for her, she loves using YOU as her weights. she has you sit nice and pretty on her hips while she does hip thrusts OR has you sit on her back while she does push-ups. gets a little cheeky when it comes to sit-ups, because she'll make you hold her feet down and then surprise you with a kiss when she comes up.

she lets you borrow her varsity jackets because she LOVES the way you drown in them, how they're so big they hang off your shoulders and how your fingertips are barely visible by the end of the sleeves. if you're both taking a break from studying she'll drive you out (secondhand supra, white and teal coating, custom tuned ECU on top of a whole lot of other mods she managed to weasel in by interning at her uncle huaiyan's shop back in high school) for a late night tea run. she prefers fruit teas, and maybe you'll both get an ice cream to share. and if you fall asleep in the car on the way back, she'll drape her jacket over you and maybe secretly snap a picture that you'll later find set as her phone wallpaper.

and despite that, despite all of that, even when they were so so angry even when they were seething with jealousy they still helped, they still did everything they could so that this siffrin wouldnt have to suffer like they did

they helped make things easier for siffrin. they helped make things go quicker for siffrin. they helped keep siffrin from losing his mind. they reminded siffrin of their friends names. they reminded siffrin that he was real, that he was here with them

and when it came down to it, even after siffrin cursed them, even after siffrin burned every bridge they had, even after siffrin made it clear they wanted nothing to do with them anymore, they talked to siffrins family. the family they lost. the family they gave up when they became this. the family it hurts to even look at, much less talk to. the family that didnt recognize them, didnt remember them. for siffrins sake. so he wouldnt make the same mistake they did. so he wouldnt turn into them

and then and then and then. even when all of that jealousy and anger and grief boiled over and they lashed out they couldnt bring themself to really hurt siffrin. even if they won they couldnt bring themself to kill them. even after everything, even as theyre fading away, one of the last things they do is help siffrin still, making him promise to talk to the others, not to bottle things up anymore

and after all of that. they still dont believe they deserve thanks. they still cant accept that theyre important. even after everything they did, after everything they lost, after all the ways they helped and all the times they were kind when they didnt have to be. i feel ill

The Heart Wants What It Doesn't Have - Stanley Pines and His Undeniable Want for People to Want Him Back

Stan's strength doesn't lie in the streets. We have a whole decade of him not catching a break, getting banned by majority of the states, and even served time more than once. No, I believe his strength is his innate interest in people.

In their childhood, Crampelter told Stan that if it weren't for the company of his brother, he'll be alone. In that instance, we immediately saw that that is his true fear. He loves people but they don't seem to love him back, so he clings on to the person he knows who does: Ford. The idea of together forever brought comfort to him. It didn't matter if he fails, so long as he is standing with someone, then he never failed to begin with.

I'd like to think that his parents knew about this. And I'd like to think that that was Filbrick's main motivation to kick him out. You saw how Stan's tough love was a direct copy from his father, and that no matter what he's been through, he can't bring himself to completely hate the man who worked so hard to provide for his family. Again, Stan loves people—he wants them around. But Filbrick had other ideas. He knew his sons love each other, believed that Ford will get over it, and knew that Stan knew that too. But that would mean he wouldn't face the consequence, and Filbrick didn't want that. He wanted Stan to actually learn from his mistakes, and that those mistakes, no matter how much of an accident it was, will always have consequences. The world is cruel, and it's the father's job to make his children be above it.

What Filbrick did made Stan's fear into a reality. Believing that will toughen him up, believing that he'll rise up, believing that he'll finally become a man. But he doesn't know his son. He didn't know that what he's done was the complete ruin of Stan. That he was the nightmare Filbrick also had trouble sleeping when he was a kid.

I believe Filbrick never hated his son, just frustrated. Caryn knows that. Why would he never wiped of '#1 Dad'? That pride and ultimate shame of being his father, no wonder he didn't attend his youngest son's funeral.

Anyway, back to Stan. After getting kicked out, he tried to put a brave face. He may be Caryn's son, but the man can only lie so much before crashing down. Everything Stan did was just to go back home. He took every shortcut he can, but he can't bring himself back at the porch empty handed. He loves his father way too much.

As years has gone by, he finds himself getting further and further away from the glass shard-ridden beach. The sounds of waterbirds are just as muffled as his judgement, and all Stan wants is to get things over with. From illegal work to downright immoral, somewhere along the lines Stan might've gave up. He allowed himself get drowned not by the sea of salt, but all of his problems. He never stood a chance; and giving up his name seems to be easier than staying alive. But no matter how many time he has betrayed himself, Stan just can't get rid of the heart he thought had died years ago. No matter how much he runs aways, the whole entirety of him just wants to stay. And his soul is stuck, anchored and haunted by the presence of a payphone.

No matter how many years has passed, there's a part of him that refused to grow up. As if he is saving it for the same boy he believes will welcome him back in open arms. Even after heart break after heartache, Stan still stands—and he's so, so tired.

When Stan got ahold of the postcard, his heart started bumping. Like he's been lifted from the depths of the watery deep, and he couldn't be any more thankful. No storm can stop him, no goons can scare him, it's just him and his second chance of together forever. But that didn't work out, and he realizes that Stan is indeed just a boy. Tried to burn his journal? What was he thinking? Maybe he did deserve everything, and another thing for not learning. What was wrong with him? And now he lost his brother again. His father was right, mistakes, no matter how accidental it may be, bears consequence, and he had become his brother's executioner.

A life a for a life. He threw everything away just to get him back. He was ready to betray himself once more. He'll stop running away, stop trying to go home, stop trying to find a spot for himself in other people's hearts. It's what killed him after all. But, life has a sense of humor to them, because it's now keeping him alive. For the first time, he hears a laugh and his heart melts. They like his jokes? Now that was something. It would've meant something, but his lifeline isn't his anymore.

Stan swore on his breath that everything he has been through will all be worth it if it meant saving the first person who was there for him. A life for a life, right?

You'd think that after forever had passed, they'll be too old for this. Turns out, all wounds are fresh if it came from the person you love the most, and Stan is reminded yet again that no matter how much of an accident a mistake is, consequence will follow. He didn't mean to endanger his family, but that doesn't matter anymore.

So yet again he has stripped, lied, and bore his heart. Yet again, another act of self-betrayal. And yet again, Stan tricks himself that this time, it will surely be worth it.

The heart wants what it doesn't have, and he'll gladly offer it to the world if it meant another chance for together forever. Stanley's love for people is what killed him. But it was also what brought him back to life.

Given how much Scar’s character knows. (From him connecting series that we don’t think he should know about to his character. And him knowing things he shouldn’t…) I’m on the band wagon that Scar is some sort of Eldtrich God.

Righttt like, my best guess is he's some sort of dimension-hopper or something... a traveling trickster god.. mentally i'm at a corkboard w/all the red strings connecting to different scars trying to piece it all together, holding my head in my hands

It's like. Okay. He had an encounter with s8 tycoon scar where he stole his hat, and he killed him (?) but today he said he simply broke a wheel on the wagon and stole the hat? He says each hat has a story. Does Jellie's hat also have a story. Jellie obviously travels with him across every universe. He seems not to mind when people don't remember who he is but he gets VERY upset when people don't know who Jellie is; just thought that was interesting

Did P!Scar travel to the hermitcraft season 8 universe? After the moon hit the server? Did tycoon scar travel to the pirates universe? Or are they the same person and it's just a lie? When he first spawns in Pirates SMP he makes it a point to mention a mysterious flower crown in his inventory. He says it's an important crown, and it's the only one on the server. Buttercups??? (Sidenote he also spawns with some blocks of cyan glazed terracotta. Not sure what that's about but it's dangerously close to being light blue glazed aka the vex magic. I would have lost my mind)

At the very beginning Scar says his ship was called the Flying Jellie. The Flying Jellie. What if it wasn't a boat. What if it was a space ship. He calls it a pirate ship but that doesn't necessarily mean a boat, ti could be a space pirate ship. (He's done loopholes with his phrasing like this before, like today when he sold michela a sword that was "nearly full" durability, only to later clarify it was "nearly full-y depleted"). He says he won an important battle with the ship, but he lost the ship and the crew. I've seen people say that the crew is supposed to have been boatem, not sure if that's canon? Is the ship story even true?

He made references to both Pearl and Grian today, are they his Pearl and Grian from the pirates universe or is he referring to the hermits? He mentions Pearl by name to Sausage, who says he doesn't know who that is (and yet Sausage goes on to casually mention the moon at the mention of Pearl, either Sausage is also a dimension-hopper and he's bluffing or he has a subconscious connection to his other lives). He doesn't say Grian's name but he talks about a man on his crew who sunk with the ship that's very obviously meant to be Grian (says the man's head looked like a loaf of bread, that he wore red, would have been a Kite). He doesn't seem too upset about the loss.

He greets Cleo, Scott and Martyn when he first sees them even though they don't know who he is. Cleo flat-out says "I don't believe we've met" after he greets her by name. Interestingly enough when he first calls Martyn by name, Martyn doesn't question it (I know Martyn also has some Lore going on, maybe he recognizes Scar too) Also I saw someone point out that his pants resemble mayor scar's pants. Possible season 7 reference, season 8 reference with tycoon scar and a possible? season 9 reference?? with that flower crown???

I literally can't tell if he has this planned-out intricate lore that connects all of his minecraft SMP characters like Martyn does or if he's literally just saying random stuff for fun. His character could be lying about his entire backstory, we don't know. i have no idea what's important to the lore and what isn't. this man is such a trickster god its not even funny. tldr WHAT IS GOING ON

i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good
