You ever watched the We Bare Bears? Well the same way that bears get around by stacking on top one another and the same way that Carmen does her speech on top of Ayin and Benjamin in your drawing, the Ayinlings stack on top of one another to get around, stay safe and stay together.

Annnnnnnd because Adam wouldn't shut up about wanting to be on the very tippy top. That and depending on the condition of Abram and Abel, they needed to carry around a drunk Abram and a possibly injured Abel wherever they're going.

And since X is a smol baby bird bro (I have only known him for 5 minutes but I WILL DIE FOR HIM) compared to the others, Ayin has the responsibility of carrying the haphazard tower of kiwis on his back. Good thing he's gotten practice with Carmen and Benjamin and has never skipped leg day. Although his poor little kiwi legs are probably jelly now and his back is at risk of being jellified too.

Oh I absolutely belive things would've gone horrid of Benjamin died, in part because he seems rather more grounded than more A and C, as well as more willing and able to do fucked up shit because of his genuinely insane mental resilience. He was the one who did a lot of the Smoke War stuff in person and thus allowed for L corp to become a Wing, so if he wasn't there I think the research team would be much more underground and have less affect on general City life.

Also Mr. Never Letting [A]nything Go Ever and Miss. Normal About Things Going Wrong would keep his corpse in cryosleep or something. A bit like with Carmen where she was alive as a brainstem to produce enkaphalin. Because if he never dies properly than he's basically alive and is pretty much still that everpresent comfort. As we know.

That kinda begs the question then how would he “die” though? Carmen and Ayin I can definitely see as being prone to self harm but Benjamin not so much. Or at least as long as Ayin’s around I guess.

Perhaps he got harmed by someone else? Maybe he didn’t survive the Arbiter encounter? This starts to go into role swapping AU territory but very interesting to me yk

Imagine Kiwi-jamin/Hok-iwi babysitting the Ayinlings the same way the Jacana bird dad carries its chicks: like little suitcases with their legs sticking out beneath his wings.

Better yet, imagine Kiwi-jamin/Hok-iwi doing that to keep the Ayinlings safe while Bi-nyah is prowling around.

Especially the runt of the litter, little fluffy X.

This would be amazing if Kiwi birds actually had functioning wings. The best Hokwi can do is hide them under his plumage

The thing is about ABC is at first it seems that Benjamin and Carmen were normal and Ayin was the freakish of the three then it reveals all three of them are odd and ill in different ways and that the main reason that things went to shit as they did after Carmen's death was because their Freakquillibrium was disturbed

The Freakquillibrium omg.

This is so real though. Sometimes I think about the possibility that if either Benjamin or Ayin died instead the exact same timeline of events and war crimes would happen anyways. (Or at least I hope so. My boy Benny deserves someone who would pickle his nervous system in a jar of mountain dew because of the inability to let go too frfr.)

Very interesting to me that all three of them kind of share that same trait of not being able to let go (Carmen for Ayin, Enoch for Carmen, Ayin for Benjamin)

Do abnormalities, distortions, and/or peccatula also get kiwi forms or is that for humans only?

Abnormalities do get Kiwi forms! Mostly just the humanoid ones though. Like I’ve done Der Kiwir bros for example.

Abnos that look like animals already and things don’t get kiwi forms. Or I can also decide to turn them into different birds or animals if I wanted to. But this is what Apocalypse bird looks like btw

Same goes for Peccatula, they stay the same. except for envy because well. Yeah.

As for distortions I’m still not 100% certain? I’ve only drawn one distortion (Argalia) and distortions come in a lot of forms so I guess it depends also, like the humanoid abnos?
