it’s not that damian is afraid of being left, it’s that he’s not good enough to be someone worth staying with.

Can I request Jon Snow x Lady!Reader. Arranged marriage that becomes real love?
this is so sweet ty for the req :')
Tumblr media
jon snow x afab!reader; arranged marriage, slow burn, vague mentions of sex, mutual pining-ish i think
when you’re finally brought to the godswood, gaze averted and flecks of snow glinting between strands of hair, jon finds himself relieved. he’d known his duties from a young age so when the time to wed arrived -- a wife already chosen on his behalf -- he didn’t fight it. he tried not to imagine your appearance, but it proved difficult, and many late nights at winterfell were spent concocting an image of you in his head. not nearly as beautiful or rich as robb’s future wife, surely, but you’d be worthy of a stark bastard at least… right?
it’s odd. you’re different, but somehow more beautiful. jon can’t really explain it and he doesn’t try, not wanting to offend you. the first night is painfully awkward regardless, and he’s relieved when you both agree to take it slow for now. everything happens eventually, of course, but your patience pays off. jon considers himself lucky -- he could’ve been stuck with anyone for the rest of his life, but he had you; you, with your kind words and pretty face, practically handed to him on a silver platter. he kept waiting for you to act monstrous, assuming your beauty had to be compounded by something, anything, but it’s not. your marriage isn’t perfect, but jon enjoys figuring things out with you by his side. he likes being a united front with someone. he likes the warmth you leave on the other half of the bed, sheets smelling like the oil from your baths. he enjoys keeping you happy, noticeably fulfilled when he’s seen as a good husband and dutiful partner.
the more you go through together, the deeper jon’s feelings grow. he knows it’s happening, despite his initial attempts to ignore it. you have a lifetime together ahead of you - there’s no need for him to rush things. but the affection gnaws at him, and he can’t deny himself any longer. he loves you. by the old gods and the new, he really, truly, loves you. he hadn’t expected it, thinking any romantic dedication to you would take years to build -- if it ever even came to fruition -- but now it’s here and he almost isnt sure what to do.
it’s been on the tip of his tongue all day. he’d nearly said it in bed the night before, limbs tangled in sheets as he stared down at you, but the words were caught in his throat. now, every time he speaks to you, the declaration begs for release, desperate for you to know the depth of his feelings. three more opportunities arise before midday, but he lasts until after dinner, when he finds you overlooking the courtyard below and feels his heart skip a beat. you turn to face him and, somehow, his gentle expression tells you everything.
“i love you.”
+ after he says it for the first time, it takes him a while to work up the courage again, even if you happily return the sentiment. it felt like a reward and he doesn’t want to spoil it. the words aren’t careless to him and he wants them to mean something, not be taken for granted. soon enough, you’ll hear it five times a day, gruffly murmured in every free moment alone. and, despite its newfound frequency, it only seems to be more genuine each time.
game of thrones weekend (reqs open!)

They've just won Winterfell. Ramsey is dead. The Lannisters aren't chasing them and it's finally... quiet.
This may be the 3AM brain talking but I've often thought about what makes this moment special. Yes it has romantic connotations (especially if viewed out of context) but it's also so much more than that.
The last time they experienced this was before Jon went to the Wall and Sansa went to King's Landing and the world turned on it's head.
We've seen these two characters go to hell and back since then (quite literally). They've constantly had the odds stacked against them. They've lived and died in a thousand different ways. But they have also survived. Usually alone but eventually alongside each other.
And now they find themselves in this moment. This moment where they are finally safe. They are finally free. Most importantly, they're home.
It's a curious mix of emotions as Jon seems to acknowledge that by reaching out and pressing a long kiss against Sansa's forehead. Maybe he's happy, maybe he's sad they're the only two Starks present here, or maybe he's just grateful to have been able to keep his promise to her.
On Sansa's part, while she seems to go to Jon willingly, you can also see the wariness in her eyes. What does Jon want?
Which begs the question, when was the last time someone was this gentle with her?
Sansa's body is battleworn, still carrying the bruises from Joffrey, Littlefinger, and Ramsey. Everytime she's been touched, it's been a new tale of abuse. The girl that dreamt of marrying princes and having babies is long gone. Sansa has been hardened by time and carved by tragedy.
"No one can protect me. No one can protect anyone," she had insisted.
But when Jon touches Sansa, he doesn't see her as a thing to torture. He just sees her. Sansa. It's as simple and confounding as that.
Sansa, in turn, looks at Jon waiting for the illusion of his kindess to fade and yet... nothing happens. No one twists her arm, no one strips her of her clothes and throws her on the floor, no one tries to hurt her.
Sansa isn't a means to an end to Jon. She's not a plaything to be turned inside out once she's fulfilled her purpose.
Sansa is Sansa.
It's a beautiful callback to when she had defended Jon against Brienne. She'd been reminding her protector that Jon wasn't Joffrey or Ramsey or any of the men who had abused her so. Jon was Jon.
And as she sees Jon look at her without expectation and accepts his affection and promises, she realizes it's true.
Jon will never be the men who've destroyed her body and held her captive in their personal prison of pain. Jon will always be Jon. She can trust him.

I feel like ranting on Tumblr, because it's much more safer(?)
I only recently started reading comics. Unaware of the age gap between Damijon. I thought it was fine to ship them, because I thought they were teens, until a Pinterest post told me that they do. And honestly, I could give less of a fuck.
A ship's a ship. Seriously, like when the hell did we care about DC canon. You can make your own reality atp with how inconsistent DC is with their characters.
But I feel like most antis either can't accept that there are shippers willing to make Damijon the same age or that Damijon is in no way— shape or form— Superbat.
I mean from what I've read and seen, Damijon's bond is special. It can either be platonic or romantic. I mean like soulmates type of thing.
They're different from Superbat. They just work, you know. Without having to change anything about their characters. As friends or boyfriends. They make each other feel normal.
That leads to my other problem. The age gap was unnecessary. I don't care what y'all say. Jon shouldn't have been aged up. The moment he was aged up, he was given to Nightwing.
I know how our fandom likes to joke about Jason getting Dick's old friends, but what about Dick getting Dami's???
Jon and Dami has a well-deserved bond. Again, either platonic or romantic, they just work. And now the only person that makes Damian feel human instead of a fucking weapon is given to his brother???
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Okay but imagine Battinson driving to Kansa for a Batman case and then he just gets lost. Like yea, he traveled for years for training and all but he was mainly focused on the training aspect, not sightseeing. And to make matters worst (because if something can go wrong, with Bruce it most certainly will) he has a busted tire with no tools in sight to fix it.
“Um, excuse me, sir?” Bruce heard a young boy’s voice call out to him. It was two of them, they looked like carbon copies of each other so they must be siblings. Though to Bruce, they looked more like the time laps of a boy who hit a punk phase in his teen years.
This wasn’t exactly a busy street and in his 2 hours of being stuck here, Bruce had only seen 2 cars pass by. He wondered where these kids came from.
He puts on the “Brucie” mask and grinned, “Hello, is there anything you need fellas?”
He knew that Brucie Wayne was widely known throughout the US. He cannot let down his guard and let his cover blow, even if it’s just children who realistically probably had no interest in socialites from a different state.
The light of recognition and surprised hits the older boy's face and he exclaimed, “Your Bruce Wayne?!”
Knew it.
“Yes, I am. And what are y’all’s names?” He made sure to keep his voice light and his smile friendly and open.
“Um..that’s my brother, Jon, and my name’s Conner.” He stammered out. “We noticed that you weren’t moving and wanted to help.”
That was rather nice of the two boys but incredibly naive and unsafe. This could’ve easily been a ruse to lure in unsuspecting people who are too kind. But maybe that’s just the Gothamite in him speaking, you learn early on not to trust strangers, especially those who are being nice to you.
“Yea!” Jon excitedly confirmed and he looked over at Bruce’s car. “It seems like the front tire is busted. Conner can patch it up, he’s pretty good at this kinda stuff.”
It was Bruce’s turn to be surprised now. The boys were both now beaming at him, eager, and the desire to help written clearly on both of their faces. Even though Conner, did not look at all confident in his skills. But Bruce did need the help so he nodded.
While Conner was busy looking over the tire, Jon stayed behind to ask Bruce some questions. Some were getting pretty weird and into the dating part of his life. The boy would ask, “Are you single, sir?”
And before Bruce had the chance to answer, he’d give him another one and another one. He caught all of them of course and was getting ready to deflect. But then he saw the puppy smile and the little dimples. He wondered if the boy’s parents had this much trouble saying no to him.
He caved and answered yes to all of the questions but honestly, he never considered dating an option. He had many roles to fill and even more, secrets to keep that having a romantic partner seemed too out of reach for him to even entertain things like types or preferences.
“Would you date a divorced person with kids?” Jon asked with slight hope in his blue eyes. That was a rather odd and specific question.
What would Brucie say in this situation? What would Bruce say? Well, he had multiple kids at home so refusing someone else for having their own would be strange of him. “No, I would not mind.”
“That’s great,” came his reply.
“Um, Mr. Wayne, you wouldn’t mind if I called my Pa then? The tire needs to be replaced and he’s better than me when it comes to that part. I would also hate to accidentally mess up your car.” Conner told him and Bruce nodded once again.
A few moments later as Bruce and the boys converse in small talk, he saw a vibrant red pickup pulled up beside them and saw a god walk out. Tall and sun-kissed skin with waves of black hair and cornflower blue eyes. He was beautiful, there was nothing much to it.
“Hello there! My son called, said you needed some help with your car?”
All Bruce could do was nod and move out of the way so the man could work. He was used to feeling tongue-tied, gals he didn’t want to attend, and board meetings that could have easily been an email. But those were situations, not a singular person.
He looked up from his kneeling position-why the sun shine on him like that?- and introduced himself, “By the way, name’s Clark Kent. Let's see what we're working with here.” And then returned to his work.
Bruce nodded once again and the sounds of giggling children could be heard. They were giving their Dad encouragement.
It was much needed too, Clark looked like a fish out of water. Bruce knew how to replace the tire, he just didn't have any tools or a spare tire with him. Which was foolish of him, he knows. But he couldn't really think right now, with Clark in front of him. Plus, he didn't want to overstep Clark, maybe he had a process.
(Yes, a process that included staring at the tire and the spare he brought in his truck.)
After a very long 3 hours, Clark got the tire securely on and with no chance of falling off, as it did the last 3 times before.
Bruce cleared his throat, “Thank you, Mr. Kent.”
He flounders for a “your welcome” and then silence as they both stare at each other. “Would you like to go eat at a diner? It's rather hot so an ac and a cool drink might stop you from catching a heat stroke.”
Bruce thinks this over and nods, “Yes, that would be nice. What about your kids?”
Clark’s eyes made their way to them and before he gave an answer, Conner beat him to it.
“Oh, don't worry about us, Mr. Wayne. I got my driver’s license so I’ll drive us back home in Dad’s pickup. Let’s go, Jon.” The boy flashes his driver’s license for both men to see.
“Okay, get home safe, and re-“
“Yes, yes, we will remember to call you,” Jon says dismissively. He comes closer to give his father a hug (how cute, Bruce thinks) and whispers something.
Bruce couldn't catch what was said with Jon’s quiet voice and his head facing away. But whatever it was turned Clark into a blushing mess.
“Yes, I will. Off you go now.” Clark pushes his son into the direction of the pickup and turns to Bruce. “Shall we?”
“Yes, we shall.” Bruce says getting to the car. “I’ll pay for dinner, as a thank you. This is non-negotiable, Clark.”
He chuckles, “Okay, fine. But I get to drive then. Deal?”
“Deal.”

But why do you think jonsa wasn’t more foreshadowed if they’re the main romantic pairing?
Well, I think we have comparable foreshadowing, often as a positive contrast to Jonerys foreshadowing which the entire fandom believes is the big romance of the series, so I’m gonna challenge your premise and argue that it isn't the lack of foreshadowing for Jonsa that you're noticing, but the fandom's refusal to accept it. I believe that's because Jonsa is a threat to their priors (Jon and Dany are the heroes, they will meet, fall in love, and defeat the Others together, something that is impossible to believe when Martin says things like this) rather than it being a fair evaluation of the existence or merit of our foreshadowing.
Below I'll point out a few kinds of foreshadowing/examples and present the similar Jonsa version so you can see what I mean.
The premise for Jonerys seems to be that every similarity in their arcs is a parallel, but they are actually contrasts if you read closely (fedonciadale's post about that), and Sansa too has parallels with Jon as you can see in @thewindsofwolves's beautiful parallel series. Their similar journeys are also captured in this gifset and this gorgeous art, and it is certainly intentional, as Sansa seems to pattern Alayne in part on Jon ie we're being told she's getting to experience parts of his life. And, unlike Dany whose plan to conquer Westeros puts her at odds with the Starks, Sansa and Jon are written as having the same, very simple, compatible dream,
If I give him sons, he may come to love me. She would name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon, and raise them all to be as valiant as Ser Loras. And to hate Lannisters, too. In Sansa's dreams, her children looked just like the brothers she had lost. Sometimes there was even a girl who looked like Arya. (ASOS, Sansa II) I would need to steal her if I wanted her love, but she might give me children. I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb. (ASOS, Jon XII)
If we're looking for a romance, foreshadowing that is about a personal relationship, this seems pertinent? And then there's Jon's desire to rebuild Winterfell, and the scene of Sansa literally building it out of snow:
Winterfell, he thought. Theon left it burned and broken, but I could restore it. Surely his father would have wanted that, and Robb as well. They would never have wanted the castle left in ruins. (ASOS, Jon XII) The snow fell and the castle rose. Two walls ankle-high, the inner taller than the outer. Towers and turrets, keeps and stairs, a round kitchen, a square armory, the stables along the inside of the west wall. It was only a castle when she began, but before very long Sansa knew it was Winterfell. (ASOS, Sansa VII)
Those two, back-to-back chapters, are absolutely full of parallels. They share a dream, and upon their reunion, will have a common purpose. I'll also link my post about how Sansa's forced marriage to Tyrion has connections to Jon's relationship with Ygritte, and @stormcloudrising's post about the similarities between the interactions of Sansa and the Hound & Jon and Ygritte. There are tons of these, but you get the idea. If we're looking for parallels between experiences, we have them.
Now, a popular method of finding foreshadowing is chapter order, but Jonsa has that too. Here's a 2018 post by @julibf that talks a bit about it, and @istumpysk's ASOS recap talks about that here and here.
There are two moments I've seen Jonerys shippers point to quite often as foreshadowing. Jon and the moon, Dany and the wolf. But the thing is, Sansa is the sun, and one of the "Jonerys" (Jon and the moon) passages has Jon running away from the moon to the cave with the sun (fedonciadale's post about that). The wolf moment also has a Jonsa contrast:
Off in the distance, a wolf howled. The sound made her feel sad and lonely, but no less hungry. As the moon rose above the grasslands, Dany slipped at last into a restless sleep. (ADWD, Daenerys X) All around was empty air and sky, the ground falling away sharply to either side. There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, big as mountains. (AFFC, Alayne II)
Far be it from me to say that Dany hearing a wolf but being lost to her desires and Sansa hearing a wolf, a ghost wolf, and finding it an overwhelming presence (mountain) means something, but if one does, the other does too. And if we're reading them both as foreshadowing, I think there are some reasonable, and unreasonable conclusions to draw from them. So, you can see why imo the fandom employs a double standard in how they weigh the merits of foreshadowing and interpret one as nonexistent and the other as real and positive.
Another oft referenced bit is Dany's vision of the blue flower and the dream of the shadowy lover, so I'll link some analysis of those that I think is far more...uh, shall I say, contextualized. There are @agentrouka-blog's posts on Winter Roses here and here, and her tag for it if you're interested in really exploring it thoroughly. There’s fedoncidale's post about it, her post about the shadowy lover, and @ladyofasoiaf's spec about how the shadow lover foreshadowing is actually Euron.
Oh, and I almost forgot Val who I've seen brought into the picture as foreshadowing for Dany, but there's a funny thing with her hair which again, if we're gonna look at her hair color and say she's a stand-in for Dany, we should be able to look at it and say, ok, but that means over here she's a stand-in for Sansa, and besides, the connotations for Jonerys there are very bad as discovered by @wintersnow39.
Basically, I don't think there's a lack of foreshadowing, I think there's simply a bias in the fandom that rejects Jonsa foreshadowing while happily accepting incredibly similar foreshadowing for other couples.

Hi! So I'm pretty new to the kastle fandom and wanted to know if there are any like- classic fics or interviews or memorable moments in panels and cons (with the actors) that I should know about? I know about the interviews that are on the kastle wikifandom page but only because I've read them.
helloooo! welcome to the family! it's been quite quiet lately, but frank and karen are always in our hearts lolol and every now and then there's a little resurgence, so that's nice. umm first up interviews. there's a lot of little quotes here and there that were a big deal. we didn't get many interviews of the two of them together, if i remember correctly. i think two comic cons were pretty exciting.
here are some interviews from comic con 2017 yup
this is a cute clip from last year, where deborah talked about how jon's intense but really uplifted her. and that they want to work together again.
(i'm looking at kastle's wikifandom and, really, the big interview quotes all seem to be there.)
“ … just in terms of whether this is Jon’s story to tell or my story to tell, you just want to kind of be respectful of everybody’s contributions. Jon and I have certainly felt that there is room for a romantic story in there. And there were certainly scenes where we took it farther in some takes than we did in other takes. We’ll have to sort of wait and see what the editors chose, and how far they decided to push it. But we as actors allowed for that possibility.” -deb cinemablend
deborah and jon were both supporters, but deborah was always including frank into karen's romantic potentials:
“But all of the romance I’ve gotten to play, with any of the characters in the series, whether that’s Frank or Matt, they all come from a need. From a lonely person, a person who doubts whether she is deserving of love.” -deb collider
**
“I like that Karen can say, ‘How far down this road of violence of revenge do you go before you’re ripped apart?’ and he can look at her and go, ‘I’m already ripped apart. And you are, too.‘” -deb 92.1 bobfm
**
“When professor [Jeph] Loeb [Marvel TV head] told me we were gonna do a series on The Punisher,” Bernthal continued, “first thing i asked him is would I have the pleasure and the honor to work again with one of the most honest, the most kind, and the most talented actors I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.” --jon ew
oh! karen page being announced for the punisher. very cute.
youtube
"i just want to say, you guys don't love him as much as i do" was very exciting when it happened lmaoooo. the hope for kastle was high.
*****
i'll be honest up front and say, i tend to forget a lot of stuff? so, basically, i can read a fic and then read it again months later and it's like a brand new experience. which is both a blessing and a curse. so, i basically just zoomed through my bookmarks to try and find some things?? 😩😩
(i'm scanning my bookmarks and.............a lot of them are basically just smutfdjklgsdfjglkdfjglkdfjg)
ballads for a dead man ❤❤ [three parts, unfinished] Safe up in the mountains with Frank following a bloody showdown in Hell's Kitchen, Karen wonders just how much more complicated things between them can get. She's about to find out.
these heavy words, your open heart 😘😘 (this was a kastlechristmas gift to me from @carry-the-sky 😊❤) “You told me once that I was honest. That I don’t lie to you. But the hospital—you asked me to start over, and I said I didn’t want that.” Karen sucks in a breath. Frank’s eyes are still on her, wide and bright. It’s the most vulnerable she’s ever seen him look. “I lied,” he says.
The Reporter  [kinda iconic ❤👀] Force Recon missions keep Marines isolated, entrenched for long periods in covert locations. They rarely received visitors, and in Frank’s long experience, the visitors were almost never civilians, let alone gorgeous blondes with mile long legs and sky blue eyes. Frank was trying not to stare. They all were. Well, everyone except Bill, who’s face had just split into a shit-eating grin.
The Flower Cam [oh god, the flower cam! i just remembered!! ❤] It had been a long time since there had actually been any flowers in the window. She must have trashed the white roses after his latest bullshit at the hospital with Madani and the kid. Good. Good for her. She should forget about him. But still… Frank couldn’t help but check every once in a while.
actually just, everything in their ao3. i have all this bookmarked.
(..................god, my bookmarks are really all smut. this says a lot about me.)
Castle’s Auto Shop ❤❤ yes. yep. Karen Page is in need of a car mechanic. Castle’s Auto Body Shop seems a reasonable choice. There’s just one problem: This little auto shop has become a well-known spot where less than honorable people to go get their car fixed…only to have justice find them at the next stop light. Having her brother’s truck fixed there means Karen will have to own up to a few secrets in her past.
Blood and Bone ❤❤❤! this is the fic that has seared itself into my brain. i've never once forgotten this. iconic. Frank Castle is a boxer at the top of his game. Laconic and anti-social, he has a reputation for being an incredibly-tough interview. Karen Page is a sports reporter trying to prove herself in a male-dominated field. She's done playing games--trying to be the "Cool Girl" who caters to the male fantasy--and now she's on a mission to take no shit. "For a while, the fact that an interview with Castle lasting longer than 5 minutes even existed was big news. Splashed all over the message boards—circulated among boxing and Castle fans alike. The very concept that someone actually got the man to sit down for more than a breath of time and give multiple-sentence answers to a question—it was huge. Massive. It was the only thing Castle fans could talk about. Until three months later, when Frank Castle disappeared. Then that was the news. It was the only news."
this is hard lmaoo how ludicrious. i have about seven collections from some of our events, as well. there's loads of good stuff in there:
kastlesmutweek 2018
kastlesmutweek 2019
kastlechristmas 2018
kastlechristmas 2019
kastlechristmas 2020

Define “Damijon”?
I never realized how hard this question could be until you asked me. But if I speak of it off the top of my head, then DamiJon is the relationship between Damian Wayne and Jon Kent. To me, it’s a romantic relationship. DamiJon is built on the friendship the two created together, no matter in what way that friendship is built. Whether in a different universe or their own, they will always find that bond and maybe even a stronger bond. In an ideal world, the bond is one of trust, loyalty, authenticity, love, and more that I’m probably forgetting right now.
Damian grew up believing he had to prove himself, and he was willing to do what was necessary to accomplish the acknowledgment he sought. Even if it meant killing others, or going up against those who were close with him. Although, when he started living with his father, the disappointment this brought to his father had made him start to realize something. I personally believe Damian had a hard time acknowledging this change, especially because he thought he had to fight so hard for everything when it looked like his older siblings did nothing to deserve their home in their father’s heart. At least when he first met them. This train of thought of his combined with his position as the youngest, made him feel like he had to prove himself that much more. And as most assassins are trained, he grown accustomed to seeing stoicism as strength. He hid most of his emotions as best as a child could. But I believe his relations with Jon put a dent into this. Many times we see characters mention how Damian had some characteristics of his changed after bonding with Jon. Some examples are how talkative he was, and his opinions on hugs. This proves that Jon helps bring out the best of Damian, and Damian sees Jon as someone he can not only rely on but also be himself around. To me, this is something to be strongly valued in a relationship, especially romantic.
(Obviously there is so much more to Damian’s character and how he grew up, but I think when discussing my personal definition of DamiJon, this is one of the more important factors)
Then there’s how Jon lives his life, most of this will be based off of Jon’s character pre-bendis. The second he got his powers, there was a sudden tension from the idea that he was the next in line for the title of “man of steel.” To most worlds, Superman is a symbol of hope. Jon is someone who is meant to show kindness to all of those around him. Even so, he still made sure to make room for his personality. I appreciate how there were moments where it felt like Jon was sassy, but those moments shined the most when he was around Damian. Jon will always go out of his way to help those in need, and he will usually show a bright smile while doing so. That’s what he sees when he watches his father. He also sees his mother exhibit the strength that is standing up for what’s right no matter even if someone or something is trying to push you back. Watching these two as role models obviously made a huge impact on who he is as a person and how he views the world. Thats why I think he must’ve been shocked to meet Damian. He wasn’t used to seeing another vigilante behave with such bluntness the way Damian did when they first met. In Jon’s eyes, Damian presented strength and knowledge but in a way he’s never seen before. I think without even realizing it, Damian helped Jon learn about another side to life. Alongside what I had mentioned earlier, I think being able to bring something new to your partner’s life, or having a contrast to them from what they’re used to, can be important in a relationship.
Even though I’ve only really touched the surface of my personal definition of DamiJon/JonDami, I’m going to wrap this response up now. I apologize for my poor grammar, and I hope I made at least some sense. Thank you for the ask, it was a nice challenge.

I am here for your takes on Dani. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought her x Jon smelled of hot garbage. Like at best she was meh, and then when the two of them met I was just like "oh no....you're an entitled bitch". And now that its been years since I last consumed GoT, my thoughts have fermented into "oh no, she really is a conqueror" "oh no, everyone loves her because 'pretty badass lady'" "oh no i'm the fandom minority again". Anyway, where was I. She and Jon had no chemistry. The end.
The *only* way putting them in a romance even makes sense in concept is when you realize Benioff and Weiss gave Jon the Young Griff arc. It's why they gave him a Targ name, beacuse if they call him "aegon" then they can fufill that part of the books without ever having to establish Young Griff as his own character. He is the supposed son of Rhaegar Targaryean and Elia Martell, he goes to Westeros with intentions of using his better claim to take the throne and intends initially on marrying Dany, and it's theorized heavily that Dany will see his claim as a threat and the Burning of Kings Landing will come down to Aegon against Dany.
Jon Snow has nothing to do with that. He is a moral opposite to Dany as a charecter, and we've seen him time and time again be at strong odds against people with her morals. But by giving him the Young Griff arc, it means putting him into the romance spot when it makes no sense for him.
Hey I put a read more beacuse I cannot shut the fuck up about how this relationship is just rape and abuse but beacuse Jon's a man we think he wants it.
All of season 7 Jon is so out of place because he doesn't belong anywhere near Dany's Iron Throne plot, and he's being forced to interact romantically with a charecter that clearly he does not like as a person and is uncomfortable with.
But, Dany is the sacred cow of the GoT/asoiaf fandom. You love her and if you critizize her for villanious actions or morals then you are using bad faith towards her. While I personally don't like her, I don't mind other people liking her but I despise that her stans all refuse to allow any conversation about her being a morally bad person. A person who enjoys cruelty and death, enjoys creating fear and is smug when she can control others. That is not a person Jon would love, let alone even respect.
Their entire relationship wreaks of abuse, of Jon being forced into this and knows he cannot leave it without risking his and his families lives. Remember when Tyrion gave a very small level critisism of her actions and she angrily accused him of treason and siding with his family instead of her? Well what do people think would she have done, if her attraction to Jon was refused? Someone who she took all the defenses away from, all the power from, and could have killed at any moment (dont make an ygritte comparison mimi dont make an yrgitte comparison this is a different anti jon x fandom female fave charecter post).
I don't care how the show frames it, or what the intent was. What we got on screen, was Jon Snow being held prisoner to an immoral, cruel, military conquerer. And when that woman was attracted to him, she essentially forced herself into his life and gave him all but no choice. The Jon bending the knee scene and..the uh...boat...scene...later...uhhh....anyways, those to me feel so out of charecter. You cannot convince me Jon did any of this willingly. He is clearly trapped in this situation and cannot leave and is only with her beacuse she is violent and bloodthrirsty. But beacause Jon is a strong, capable man, it's not talked about as if he's the victim and that is insane to me. (Oh my good god the ygritte comparisons are almost laughable send help).
I don't consider a lot past season 5 to be canon, but if I am forced too, then I refuse to accept Jon was a willing participant in that relationship.
Jon's parentage reveal will always be about the revelations of his mother, and the understanding and acceptance of WHY Ned raised him the way he did. And how it was both his parents, his mother and his adopted father who loved him and kept him safe. The very fact that Young Griff's entire story is based around whether or not he truly is Rhaegar's son as opposed to that being a twist reveal is beacuse HE is the charecter whose Targaryean links is the important one. Jon's story is about him as Stark, and is always shown to be the moral opposite of Dany.
Their relationship in the best senario is not canon, but if it has to be, then there is no world in which Jon is there of his own free will. He is being forced into this relationship against his will. But considering his other love interest was another charecter who essentially forced him into a relationship against his will, and we were supposed to root for that tells me all I need to know.
Dany is a sacred cow charecter, and her stans are unreasonable in defending her. When you can like a charecter and critize them for their actions. Ned Stark was an idiot for ever trusting Petyr Baelish, Catelyn Stark's spiteful attitude and neglect of Jon Snow is was abusive behavior, Theon Greyjoy was a moron who ruined his own life for a father who long since abandonded him. Bam all charecters I love and there are some major flaws that I refuse to defend them for but thats also what makes them good charecters. Their flaws arent writing flaws, they are personal flaws for them as people.
Dany is not allowed to have personal flaws she is always to be justified even with incredibly bad faith defenses, but when she is flawed it's the writings fault not hers. Dany is a cruel, sadistic, controlling, military tyrant who enjoys watching her subjects fear her and her dragons. And she forced Jon Snow into a relationship with her beacuse otherwise then he is against her and we already knew she has no use for people who dont support her to be alive.
Jon Snow deserved better then to have both his love interests be domineering, controlling, abusive women who forced him into a romantic and sexual relationship.
Also, I mean, incest being normal is only a learned trait from Targaryens supporting their own blood purity. Jon was not raised to think incest is normal. Dany thinks its normal beacuse she and Viserys both were raised to think that, and Young Griff thinks marrying Dany is normal beacuse he too was raised with the mentality that Rhaegar would've been raised with. Jon finding out Dany was his aunt would've had Jon looking right at Sam and just

Valentine’s Day with GOT/HOTD babes modern
A/N: A quick idea for you guys and my present for saying thank you for the support of my writing. It’s been amazing writing for a new fandom and getting new mots y’all are the best! So happy Valentine’s Day from me :) I love you guys 💓 @daenerysapologist @valeskafics
Warnings: grammar/spelling errors, implied smut, marriage proposals, romantic shit
Robb: Okay man is a simp all year round, but Valentine’s Day and your birthday he goes all out each year. Breakfast in bed with your favorite breakfast foods and drinks. Dinner at the restaurant you had your first date at. He’s a sentimental man, like his daddy. Buys you an outfit and takes you out on the town, a walk after dinner. Then takes you back home and you have a nice night in the backyard under blankets looking at the stars. You definitely know how much you are loved with Robb
Theon: A romantic but loves an excuse to buy you stuff without you telling him he’s wasting his money. Wakes you up by kissing you all over and whispering sweet words of love in your ear. Definitely messes with you the whole day, making out in bed, on the counter, where ever he can get you. Gets you a pretty necklace, a nice outfit, a pink lingerie set from Victoria’s Secret (reference to bels cam girl series 💀💖) a good ole fashioned wine and dine with Theon
Jon: Loves Valentine’s Day he gets to show you how much he loves you on that day and your birthday. Jon makes you breakfast in bed, makes the bed, draws you a bath with nice soaps, bath bombs, roses in the water, candles around the tube. Still gets nervous about asking you if he can join the tub. Of course you let him, he lets you lay your back on his chest. Washes your hair and body while kissing you and laughing enjoying the time with you. Would be a guy to propose on that day. I don’t think he would make it a restaurant proposal, more of a scenic view type. Where you two go on walks and relax in nature, he had Sansa and Arya make it all cute with candles, fair lights and pictures.
Jaime: Jaime loves spoiling you no matter what day it is, but is like Robb two days out of the year he goes all out. Wakes you up being under the covers messing with you. Afterwards, he carries you to the kitchen for a breakfast. Tells you to get ready because he’s taking you out for the whole day. Takes you to your favorite places, a little shopping, a cute lunch date at your favorite restaurant, flowers. Then dinner he takes you to a fancy restaurant, gifts you a necklace that has his name. Later on you notice the wait staff is watching you guys. Soon as you ask him what’s going on, you seen him on one knee and a velvet box in hand. He takes you to the place he first said he loved you and tells you how much you mean to him and how he still loves you.
Aegon: Aegon is definitely someone that shows his money off even to you. You love him for him not his family’s money, but that’s his love language. A huge shopping spree, a fancy lunch and dinner, sends you money to get your nails done but request you to get something he wants for the special day.
Aemond: A secret hopeless romantic for his partner all year but valentines is one day he shows it off. Him and Jaime would do the same thing, take you shopping, a nice lunch just the whole day is about you and just you. Aemond would hand write you a poem and would mean every word. Definitely would think about proposing to you that night but wants it to be the perfect moment.
Cregan: My boy is a simp like Robb! Plans this day out after your birthday so it’s a ways a bit from that he plans it out big. Takes you somewhere nice and warm like Hawaii, Costa Rica, Bahamas the week before. A romantic getaway for you two, would definitely propose on the beach at sunset. A nice dinner that’s outside a private beach. tells you how much he loves you and wants to be with you forever. Cregan and Gomez Addams give the same vibes for their partners. Starks are simps in my book

UnTamed Ch.7
Damian Wayne x OC!Female
Prev | Next
Too Pretty.
That's what Astraea thought. As she looked around, the restaurant was very fancy. It was so fancy, in fact, that Damian got her a fancy dress and shoes to go with it and even did her hair. I got her all dolled up and didn't tell her why. He just dragged her until they arrived at the restaurant, then was taken to a private booth with curtains in the back. Money gets you fancy privacy. It was all so fancy and pretty. Even the food was pretty.
"It's too pretty," she whispered as she eyed the plate of food. She felt Damian's nervousness and confusion. " It's too pretty to eat. Looks like those art pieces in those fancy places I'm not allowed in." It was two lamb chops on top of mashed potatoes; it wasn't much, but it was still pretty. More to look at than eat.
"Try it. You'll like it," Damian encourages her to eat.
Not one to turn down a free meal, she forwent the proper eating utensils; she just picked up the bone taking a big bite of the lamb. Damian watches as she devours her plates within minutes, the proper table manners not seen or considered. Once the plate was clean, she whispered," I'm still hungry." He waved the waitress over and ordered some desserts.
"Why are we here?" she finally asked
"I can't take you to a nice place for a nice meal."
"Damian," she spoke his name softly, "what are we doing?"
-
Honestly, he didn't know. Their relationship had changed, or at least Damian's view of it had. He had grown romantic feelings for her. He didn't know how to go about these feelings, so he sought out help and advice. For Asta to remain a secret, he could not ask his brothers or father for advice. He instead went to two other trustworthy confidants, Jon Kent and Alfred Pennyworth. They provided as much advice as they could with vague and little information.
Jon just told him to ask her to be his girlfriend and give her some flowers. Jon Kent never had a girlfriend.
Alfred advises him to take her out to a nice dinner and talk to her about his feelings and a possible relationship. He advised a slow approach. Damian took his advice and ran with it.
He got a fancy restaurant, food, and clothes, and the atmosphere was here, but now he couldn't speak, put words together, or find them. He should have gotten advice on how to talk to her. It was a conundrum, but he needed to figure it out and do it.
-
"These past few years, I've enjoyed your companionship, our friendship. " Asta smiled as this was the first time he'd ever acknowledged their friendship. " My feelings for you have changed and grown and can no longer be ignored. Astreae, I like you, like you as more than a friend, and I'd like to enter into a possible romantic relationship. If you'd like that as well." Definitely wasn't the best wording. Despite how vast his vocabulary was he was never good at conveying his feelings through words. Honestly, he wasn't good at conveying his feelings, period.
"what does that mean?" Asta asked. " I ... I'd like for us to be in a roman-"
"No, I mean, what does that mean? What does being romantic mean? For us?"
It was a good concern for Asta to have. The only true exposure she had to 'romantic' relationships was to victims of domestic violence and prostitutes. And she wore less than prostitutes. Love was something people in the alley mostly ran from or used as a tool. How would they change? What would romance look like with them? Would they really be romantic?
" ... I like spending time with you and would like to spend more time outside of our nightly occupation. More dates, perhaps." Admittedly, most of their meetings were at sunset or under the moon. " I'd like to touch you like that. I mean, like holding your hand and a perhaps kiss. I don't want to change what we have; I want more of it."
There was a moment of relief that was quickly followed by a new nervousness as he waited for her response. He didn't know what he'd do if she rejected him. He probably just ruined his first friendship.
"Okay"
"...okay?"
"I'd like to be romantic with you. I want to hold your hand, kiss you, and see you in the light."
Damian didn't fight the smile that spread across his face. He raised his glass " to the light," and she raised her glass as well (she's never done the toast before)" To the light."
As if realizing the serious conversation was over and had ended well, the waitress finally brought over their desserts. Another fancy plated dish is lemon tarts.
"Another pretty dish. After this-"
"We'll go get pizza."
-
Alfred watched as Damian quickly slid the back seat. He notices how giddy and happy his young master is as he settles in. He was glowing with joy. " I presume it went well."
"Yes" was a single-word response but held many emotions. " Very well," the joy radiated off the boy was just so pure. He had never seen the boy so happy. "And when can I expect to meet this young lady?" Damian didn't say anything, but his face was answered enough, a look he had seen on Bruce many times before when asked about his lovers.
Bruce rarely, if ever, talked about his lovers, not including the little flings he brought home occasionally. He used to learn about love interests such as Talia Al Ghul and Minhkhoa  Khan through reports and ones like Selina Kyle by wounds they left on his body. He hopes Damian love interest won't fall into that second category. Another hope is that he wouldn't have to wait several years to meet the young lady officially.
"Alfred" His voice was small
"Yes?"
"I'd appreciate it if today's activities stayed between us. I don't want the others-"
"Damian, no one will learn of it from me."
"...Thank you."

Link: A Robin's Song (Chapter 3)
Summary and age information found here
Two years ago, July.
“DAMIAN!!” Jon pounced on him the moment he opened the door, shoving a little plastic card in his face.
“Jon-” He shoved the taller boy off of him, snatching the card and reading it over. “Holy shit, you actually did it!”
“SWEAR JAR!” a little voice came from inside the house.
Both ignored it in favor of the growing excitement between the boys, Damian feeding off of Jon’s hyper attitude.
“WE'RE GOING TO MALIBU!” Jon shrieked. “I told your dad yesterday and my parents said yes a while ago cause they thought i wouldnt get it but guess what i did and SUCK IT MOM AND  DAD CAUSE I HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE !”
“To be fair, you did crash a few cars. And failed your learner’s permit test, like five times.”
“Shut up, you promised not to bring that up.”
“I didn’t promise .”
“Whatever, D, nothing is bringing my mood down, so get your butt in gear and pack your stuff cause we’re heading for Cal-i-fornia tomorrow!!”
“We’re literally going to be there for like five hours, Jon.”
“Literally nothing you say is making me less excited!” He beamed at him, making Damian's stomach flip pleasantly.
That had been happening much too often lately for his liking.
“Alright, alright.” Damian huffed, but not before turning a genuine smile, soft and sweet towards Jon.
“Seriously, though. Congratulations, I’m proud of you. I know you worked hard.”
Jon flushed, Damian assuming it was from the praise.
“T-Thanks, D. See you tomorrow?”
“See ya, J.”
Damian shoved his backpack into the Kent’s car, Jon grinning like a maniac as both of their families surrounded them.
“Riding the waves up in Malibu!” Kon sang, bouncing around with Cass and Steph.
“They really get, get to you!” Tim joined in, the four of them singing loudly and off key.
“So let's give it up for those L.A. boys!” They finished off, laughing with each other. Damian turned to Jon, whispering.
“How long is this phase going to last?”
“Excuse me, Damian, the Victorious soundtrack is iconic.” Jon gasped, the perfect portrayal of offense.
“Iconically stupid.”
Insulted gasps sounded from all around him.
Dammit, he forgot he was surrounded by preteens.
After much bedraggling and hugs and kisses for their parents, (“We are merely driving two hours away, we will return alive, I promise.”) the two set out on the drive, turning up the radio and singing even louder.
They spent the whole day on the beach, wandering the shops beachside, sharing a better version of the strawberry ice cream they’d get at school. Both had even gotten hit on, and offered a few numbers to each other's amusement.
As they drove into their small town and pulled up into Damian’s driveway, unlocking the car.
“Had a lot of fun today.” Damian smiled, letting his hand rest on top of the other’s. “Thanks, J.”
“N-Not a problem, D. Thanks for coming.” Jon stumbled over his words, the tips of Damian’s fingers brushing over his.
Damian ran inside, blushing red. He didn't dare look back, although, if he had, he would have seen the blue eyes he’d loved so much staring back at him, lovesick grin and flushed red face to complete the deal.
                                                     Present day
The raven-haired teen watched his friend worriedly. “Are you okay? You look sick.”
“I’m…I’m so happy for you!” He croaked, throat dry. His face had drained of blood, a woozy feeling coming over him. Putting up a brave face, he bumped his shoulder with Jon’s, forcing the smile so wide it hurt physically.
“You can tell me all the details later, I don't want to be late for class.” He moved his backpack so that it hung on one shoulder, quickly speed walking towards the hallways. Jon trailed after him, chattering excitedly per usual.
“It was so romantic, Dami, just like I planned! We’re going out for almost three weekends straight!”
Damian felt his heart drop, and as it hit the bottom it cracked in half, pouring out all the memories and weekend plans they’d had together.
“You’ll be free for the new movie coming out in a few months, right?”
This franchise was the most important thing to them, something they bonded over as children and even now knew every bit of lore it offered, and as preteens even collaborated on a fanfic, although their current persons have burned it from their minds. To miss even the latest picture between the two of them was a travesty.
“Course! I would never dare miss it, D, I'm sure Haisley will understand when I tell her!” Jon chirped.
The bell rang, and Jon’s joy filled eyes were all he saw as he turned and ran towards his classroom, the knowledge that that emotion would never be because of him burning in the back of his mind.
A few weeks after that, Damian had been finding new ways to avoid not just Haisley, but the couple as well. He could only be with Jon for a bit every day before the conversation turned to Haisley, which both pained and irritated the pining boy to no end.
For the first time, Damian had felt a surge of unpleasant emotions towards the girl, sometimes so strong he nearly classified it as hate.
The thing that kept him from doing that was coincidentally the same thing that brought him back towards Jon.
He was sneaking out of the library, unceremoniously shoving his sketching pad inside his backpack when a flash of deep brown caught him and he was met with Haisley’s dashing blue eyes.
“Hello, Damian.”
“H-hi?” He stuttered, surprise and confusion clouding him.
“Can we talk?” She asked innocently, although to anyone else it would have sounded dangerous.
“Make it quick, Parker, I have things to do.” He muttered, having regained his senses. The challenging air surrounded them, and Damian deflected, presenting his confident, nearly arrogant air, his head filled with snappy comments and snarky responses, ready to fire on command.
She had her own way of doing this, seeing as she seemed to be the challenger. Poised and ready like a snake, with all the grace and intimidation of a lioness.
“It’s about Jon.” She said after a moment, surrendering first.
He dropped his quickly after, turning defensive. “What about him? I won’t have you hurting him, and if you do I most certainly will not have a hand in it.”
Her eyes widened, and she was quick to steer him away from the negative. “No, no, it’s not what you think!”
She looked down rather bashfully, Damian contemplating whether or not this was genuine or a manipulative tactic.
“You’re his best friend and he trusts you and your judgment over anyone’s, more than mine or even his parents. You’re super important to him, and that means your words carry a lot of weight. You are said to be a good judge of character, and I just wanted to ask…if you approved? I know it's not like the olden days where you ask for things like that but-”
He let her ramble on as he mulled over her words. What she had asked was kind, considerate and only would have been thought of by someone completely genuine.
Goddammit.
“Haisley!” He cut her off. “Yes. yes, i’m okay with it, you’ll be...a very good match for him.”
The last few words were spit out like gravel in his mouth, somehow gone unnoticed by the girl as she smiled brightly and leaped up to hug him, before letting go quickly and scurrying off, but not before calling “Thank you so much!”
That would be that, he assumed, after screwing his whole love life over. There was no possible way he could hate Haisley, no matter how much he wished to despise her, due to one simple little question asked with all the innocence of a puppy.
It would have all been easier if he only had to talk to her every now and then, only for formalities and necessity, but she persisted, and he was weak to the joyful looks Jon would give when he saw the two getting along.
Haisley would start conversations and he would mostly tune them out, adding a ‘mhm’ and ‘yeah wow’ every few minutes. He only started paying attention after she said something that caught him off guard.
“Repeat that, sorry?” It was about the latest date she and Jon had gone on, and under normal circumstances, he would never listen to this.
“Oh, we went for ice cream, and shared a strawberry one! Watching the sunset and everything, it was so romantic.” the girl gushed.
His throat felt like sandpaper as he swallowed, painful sparks of some emotion starting to sprout.
“Ah...sounds amazing..”
That was HIS thing to do with Jon, something they did less of now but used to when they were younger.
He began paying more attention to her talks, spotting more and more similarities.
“He took me to a beach in Malibu!”
“We just stayed inside that day, watched Glee!”
“I forgot my jacket and we couldn't go out that first date. He gave me his, and I knew he was a keeper!”
These, all of these things, were Jon-and-Damian things, not Haisley-and-Jon things. These were their things to do, their pastimes, their comfort late at night, their history…all of it was being taken and twisted into stupid, STUPID , dates.
(And maybe, throughout this bout of anger, the thoughts that it could have been him in Haisley’s place, could have been him laughing at the stupid jokes and the ice cream on the tip of his nose and the jacket that was too big for him.)
The entirety of this time, after such talks like these with her, he would take out a writing pad and scribble on it, the hurt overwhelming the anger.
Towards the last talk, he’d formulated them into lyrics, his brothers reading it over with worry on their faces.
“This…seems a little vindictive, Dami.” Tim said, holding the piece of paper between his forefingers.
“It’s not even based on them this time!” He defended himself with lies. “Could be about anyone, really.”
“ Car rides to malibu?” Duke read out loud, incredulous tones to his voice. “That alone is a giveaway.”
“Shut up, no, it’s not!” He sputtered. “Besides, even if it was, which it's NOT, get that smirk off your face this instant Timothy, this sounds more like they actually dated and the person singing is angry over the reuse of the things they used to do. And ‘Damian’ does not sound like ‘Haisley’. I could defend this for hours.”
“Whatever makes you feel better, Dames.” Tim handed back the paper, shaking his head.
Duke hung back a bit longer, going through the rhythm and lyrics with him again.
When they’d finished, he turned to his older brother and asked again. “Are you positive you wanna do this one, Dami? This one…seems kinda vengeful. And when it comes to Jon, I know you're anything but. Plus, don't deny it, I know you've been getting along well with Haisley too, so...”
“My coping method, my life, not yours, Duke.” Damian reminded him a bit sarcastically. He softened a bit after saying it, replacing it with “Thank you for this though.”
“I know you are worried but I'm fine, this is fine, honestly. And besides, only the beginning would ever align with me anyways.”
Duke sighed, a tiny smile appearing. “Okay, Dami. Just let us know when you want to record, i guess.”
Damian sat back on the couch, posting an update on the song that would be uploaded tomorrow.
In a way, his brothers were right. This one was different from the first two, not much pining and more anger. He’d written when emotions were high, and when he sang it, it was less fire and more of an ‘I miss you’.
This whole mess couldn’t be put on anyone but him, after all, it was his dumbass who encouraged Jon to ask her out, and himself who didn’t tell him earlier.
His phone lit up with a text notification from Jon, attached was a screenshot of the post he’d just made and an all caps key smash.
It was selfish, but for a moment he pretended that it was really him that Jon was excited about, not Robin.
He wondered for a bit, if Jon would react the same way if he really knew it was him.
This was how a double life worked, he supposed.
His condolences to the vigilantes in the fictional world.

Part 2
The queen walked around the ballroom, supervising the decorating and the arrangements when Steve started to descend one of the stairs.
"Mother!", he called out.
She jumped only slightly but met him with a warm smile.
"Mother, you have to call this ball off immediately", Steve said.
"Oh impossible. You can't stop these things once you get the ball rolling!"
She laughed at her own joke and slapped at her son's chest, while Steve did his valiant best not to laugh along with her. One thing they shared was their love of wordplay. But he wasn't going to get distracted.
"I told you, I don't want any part of this."
"Son, you know it's difficult to convince your mother of anything", his father came over to her side. He saw the offense on her face and quickly defended. "But in this matter, I think you should understand her-our side of things."
Jonathan, who had been hanging a floral wreath came down from the ladder. "I probably shouldn't say anything...."
"Probably", Steve and Genevieve said in unison. Jonathan had a habit of being the voice of reason. Which meant you could never tell whose side he was on until he spoke.
"Let's say the prince does attend the ball-"
Steve's chin jut out and he rolled his eyes anytime he didn't get his way. "You traitorous-"
"Let's say he goes. He dances. But if he happens to not connect with anyone...." He gave Steve a look, which his prince and friend understood.
"Jon, you're a genius", Steve said before turning to his mother. "I'll go. But if I don't fall in love, you'll let me find someone on my own. No matter how long it takes."
Genevieve's eyes were wide at the prospect and as always she looked to her husband for back up, but in this moment, Hensley was on his son's side.
"That seems to be the fairest option. You get your chance, and if it doesn't happen, then Steve gets his."
"I love you both!" Steve exclaimed and hugged them both before any other disagreements or concessions could be made. Once he was gone, the queen made a pouty face very similar to the one her son had made. Which she turned to Jonathan.
"If he doesn't meet someone tonight-"
"He will", Jonathan said quickly. "You know him. He's a hopeless romantic. Put him in the right atmosphere and he'll fall. I guarantee it."
----------------------------
The night of the ball was here and Eddie was brushing Jason's hair as he sat in a chair while Tommy was being buttoned up by Murray.
"Our family has always been known for its interesting men. I see no reason why the prince shouldn't fall for one of your charms."
Yeah right, Eddie thought to himself. They were about as interesting as a ball of lint.
"Now let's rehearse. You can't leave these things up to chance. How will you greet the prince, Jason?"
"I'll start by telling him how handsome he is and compliment his work out regimen", Jason grinned.
"You've never seen him", Tommy snarked. "How can you know if he works out?"
Jason shrugged. "Guys like hearing that even if they don't."
"A little white lie for an ego boost never hurt anyone", Murray said. "Thomas, what will you be doing?"
"People like being told when they're funny. So I'm gonna laugh at everything he says, even if it isn't." To illustrate his point, Tommy let out a bout of raucous and obnoxious laughter. To Eddie's ears, it sounded both annoying and joyless.
Murray didn't look pleased, but also not disappointed. "Well whatever you do, don't let any spittle fly from your mouth. And Jason you keep your know-it-all busybody habits to yourself. Royals don't like feeling like they're being manipulated. They prefer having control."
Suddenly feeling anxious about tonight, Tommy scratched at his ear, which Murray slapped away.
"Above all else, remember children what I've always taught you."
Jason and Tommy spoke in unison, "We hide our flaws until after the wedding."
"Okay, are you guys really going to do all that shit?", Eddie finally broke his silence.
Murray turned to face him and slowly stepped towards him. "And tell me...my dear....stepson. What would you say to entice His Highness?"
Eddie shrugged. Who knew what kind of person the prince was in reality?
Murray scoffed at his lack of response which prompted Eddie to open his mouth and say something.
"I don't know what I'd say. But whatever it was, he'd know I was meant for him and him for me." He put the brush down and got a starry look as he practically floated around the room, caught in a fantasy now. "We'd laugh at the same things. Real things. And when he kisses my hand he'll never want to let go. That's love. True love."
Even his stepbrothers were caught in his words, swooning a little Murray broke the spell.
"This ball isn't to find love, it's to find a husband! A meal ticket! You fall in love with love and you'll be falling flat on your ass." With a huff he rushed his two sons to continue getting ready, Eddie being forced to help with the preparations.
All the while Murray regaled them with a very vague tale of him falling in love and losing because of it. Eddie was so sure it was an extremely sad story but it was hard to feel sorry for a guy who took his heartbreak out on other people.
Once they were ready, the went out to the carriage, somehow making noise the whole way. It only got quiet as they drove away and then Eddie was alone.
He wouldn't admit he was lonely. No, fuck that. He was better off alone. Not in a 'true love doesn't exist' way. But in a 'it's better to be alone and only disappointed in yourself' way. Eddie went back inside and closed the door behind him.
Well, better get on with the rest of his night.

josie and the pussycats in my asoiaf au graphic series
Sansa dreams big. She can’t help it. She always has, always lets her romantic imagination run away with her. Whether it’s about a boy or about her band, she can be single-minded in her focus, pouring her all into a song and hustling to perform it in front of as many people as she can get to let her. It’s always been who she is, always been what she’s done, but it’s so much better now that she’s got the rest of The Direwolves. Growing up, she and Arya hadn’t always seen eye to eye on things (OK, that was pretty much the understatement of the century, they’d practically never seen eye to eye on anything), but these days things are different. Time and common enemies and shared heartbreaks have brought them together, a fierce and unwavering loyalty forged between them in the few years since their dad died. After nearly a decade of being one of the things that came between them, music finally bonded them together, too, and Sansa has discovered that she likes being part of a girl group more than she’d ever enjoyed being a singer-songwriter on her own. Plus, Arya’s taste for angry alt and punk rock complements Sansa’s pop sensibilities just fine these days instead of clashing with them, and it’s been fun and freeing to let her sister show her how to shake off her good girl image and just get mad. She’d already started dreaming of them touring, traveling the world together, playing sold out shows in all kinds of countries, and so it had only felt right when Robb decided it was his responsibility to be their manager. Who else would do a better job of fighting for them, after all? Do the heavy lifting of calling venues and booking gigs and negotiating fees? She hadn’t expected him to insist that his girlfriend join their group — she hadn’t expected him to have a girlfriend at all, but it seemed in the same moment Robb determined he needed a new career, he’d also decided he was ready for his first serious relationship. Sansa and Arya had only barely met Jeyne Westerling before Robb had informed them she would become the third part of their trio, but now she was as good as their sister, too. She was incredible at the drums, a blast to watch on stage, and she was always able to help them just have fun when they performed, always able to keep the peace when the sisters occasionally still butted heads. Plus, she’s the best at delivering subtle little digs at Theon’s expense, innocuous little one liners he can never quite decide are mocking instead of earnest. Still, making it big is taking… well, a little longer than Sansa had hoped. She’s happy to put in the work, however much it takes, but it’s getting hard to feel grateful for bowling alley gigs that cost them almost as much as they make. And while Sansa learned to stop blindly idolizing Margaery Tyrell years ago, it still stings to hear her and her cousins mock their music, their outfits, the furry ears and tails Sansa and Jeyne spent hours hand-crafting for their shows. So even though it feels too good to be true when Petyr Baelish appears out of nowhere to offer them a record deal, Sansa can’t help but jump at the opportunity. She wants it, after all. She wants to be the next big thing, wants to be able to play her music for the world, and Mr. Baelish says he can make that happen if they just move fast. He has to find the next Du Rocher after the band made up of blond Lannister heartthrobs disappeared in that tragic plane crash, and if it’s not going to be The Direwolves, he’s going to find someone else. So when Mr. Baelish tells them he’s got a limo waiting for them just as soon as they sign their contract, all they really ask is, “Where’s the pen?” It helps that he lets them bring everyone along with them. It’s not just her and Arya and Jeyne, it’s also Robb as their amateur manager and Theon as his fake assistant and Jon as her pretend guitar tech, all of them on a private jet as Mr. Baelish flies them out to New York City. If she’s honest with herself, Sansa has to admit that Jon is the most exciting addition. She’s been crushing on him for — god, it feels like forever now, but she’s not sure he’s ever seen her as anything other than his best friend’s little sister. Even if he had, his self-image always used to be way too low for him to even think about asking anyone out. Romance had been entirely off the table as he focused on music of his own. Sansa’s been determined to change that this past year, though, dedicated to building his confidence back up, and now if she could just get him to see her in a new light, she’s sure he’ll finally realize that they’re supposed to be together. Heading out to the big city, standing center stage seems like the perfect way to do that. She’ll happily put up with Theon tagging along if that means Jon gets to come with them, too. (Arya, however, is less forgiving. “You know what? I still don’t understand why you’re here,” she tells him point blank. “I’m here because I’m the only one who could pull off Missi Pyle’s skunk stripe from the movie,” he quips back.) Only, things start to get a little weird as soon as their flight touches down. Suddenly, their music alone isn’t enough, and the three of them are undergoing various makeovers big and small. They’ve got a whole new wardrobe picked out for them, clothing assigned not just for video shoots and performances but for parties, too. Their songs are all run through some fancy technology so the Megasound 8000 can make them perfectly produced, and Petyr’s even insisted on changing their name. They’re not The Direwolves anymore. Now, they’re Sansa and the Direwolves, and that’s how they’re being introduced to the industry at record company president Cersei’s palatial apartment.   Petyr says it’s what they have to do if they want to be successful, though, and given that he already got their first single to the top of the charts, made their faces so well-known that Sansa and Jon couldn’t even sneak off to the aquarium without getting mobbed, Sansa figures he knows what he’s talking about. Hell, even Margaery and her cousins had shown up at their hotel door, insisting that they’d been converted into Sansa and the Direwolves’ biggest fans. Plus, it’s not that big of a deal. She is the lead singer of the band, isn’t she? She’s the one who writes all of the songs. She was the only one taking it seriously in the first place, dreaming of something bigger than bowling alleys back home in Winterfell. If Arya and Jeyne aren’t on board, if they can’t see that this is the only way forward, that’s their problem, because they’re the ones glomming onto her talent and her success in the first place. And then she literally stumbles onto the realization that something isn’t just weird — something is wrong. When she trips, falls, and smashes her CD player while strutting around the city, Sansa discovers that Mr. Baelish — Cersei — has been putting hidden messages in the demos the label’s been giving her. They’ve been driving Sansa and her bandmates apart, setting the stage for her to go solo, trying to brainwash her into being the perfect little performer while limiting their liabilities down to just one person. When she drags Robb and Theon with her to the studio to investigate further, she discovers it’s even bigger than that. They’re not just trying to brainwash her. They’re trying to brainwash everyone, using The Direwolves’ music to do it, all so they can sell clothing and makeup and music and sodas and sneakers and anything else they can possibly think of. Sansa knows she can’t go through with the big stadium concert they have planned for her, knows she has to put a stop to Petyr and Cersei’s plans — but when it turns out they’re not just trying to kick Arya and Jeyne out of the band, they’re holding them hostage to ensure Sansa’s cooperation, things get a lot more complicated. Somehow, she’s going to have to save them, get them to forgive her, take down a major record label and expose Cersei for the power-hungry criminal she is. She can’t do it alone, though. Thankfully, she won’t have to. At the last minute, Du Rocher reveals they didn’t die in that plane crash. They may be a little worse for wear after they managed to land the plan in the middle of a Dornish heavy rock concert, all but one of them bundled up in near full-body casts, but little Tommen had been the one left mostly untouched (“And I thank the seven everyday that my sister taught me the words to ‘Enter, Red Viper,’” he’d told them), and he’s been trying to warn Sansa and her sisters all along. With the distraction Du Rocher’s appearance provides, Sansa manages to free Arya and Jeyne, and together they’re able to take on the record execs, smash the Megasound 8000, and even get Cersei and Petyr arrested thanks to another surprise appearance from the United States government, one so impressive it prompts Robb to consider joining the army. In the end, there’s nothing left for Sansa and Arya and Jeyne to do but take the stage, pick up their instruments, and find out if any of it can ever actually be real. If people might actually like them, their music, what they have to say. And maybe, just maybe, Sansa can get the guy, too.
ft. sansa as josie, arya as valerie, jeyne westerling as melody, jon as alan m., robb as alexander, theon as alexandra, littlefinger as wyatt, cersei as fiona, and the lannister boys as du jour

Some posts I’ve seen lately got me thinking about how both Jon and Sansa, at times, refuse to participate in “romantic” moments with other people they encounter.  - Sansa won’t kneel so Tyrion can cloak her - Jon won’t dance with Alys at her wedding - Sansa won’t give Harry her favor to wear I’ve seen those moments discussed, but never grouped together before. So I just wanted to see what others thought. Are there other examples I’m missing? Is there more to be said about it other than, “Hey, that’s probably not a coincidence. Once again, George, we see what you’re doing.”  Thoughts?

☕️ + dany ships (dany x daario, jonerys, danyxaegon) ?
dany x daario is overhated. their relationship is enthusiastically consensual, daario makes her laugh, he's hot, and he's 100% willing to kill slavers. she gets to feel like a regular lady with a crush around him, something she's never experienced before. I like that we get to see her have a consensual and enthusiastic relationship before she goes to westeros and most likely gets with jon. if this were any other series, dany wouldve been single until jon taught her how to love and shit. instead, we see dany fall in love and have great sex with a man she desires and he doesn't fix her trauma or heal her. daario isn't a main character, he probably won't survive long enough to fight in the long night. but he's the man dany chose just like her fight against slavery is the war she chose. jon feels like fate. her fighting the Others feels like fate. daario is Choice, passionate and young and lustful Choice.
that moment when they start passionately making out and barristan pulls them apart is hilarious. a lot of the fandom acts like he's some toxic villain (for saying she should kill her enemies who are literally trying to kill her?) but I disagree. he's no more violent than any other male character. genuinely think a lot of the hate for him comes from ppl that just want him to die so dany can get with jon already and people that believe everything in dany's plot is negative. I'm not ignoring his red flags like how we know nothing about his life before he met dany but that's not unusual in dany's chapters. grrm tends to not give the characters around dany much backstory, interiority, and quite a few of them don't have much personality. daario has a lot of personality, if nothing else. all in all, I like daario x dany a lot and im rooting for daario to prove the fandom wrong
like I said before, jonerys feels like fate. they've been tied since day one. I'm interested to see how they're dynamic plays out, how they'll work together, what they're impressions will be of each other, etc. theyre both strong leaders, theyre both committed and passionate. people describe jon as the "ice" of the series a lot but he's pretty fiery too. he's got a temper (dragons temper) and a sharp wit. I think him and dany would get along really well. honestly I find their dynamic a bit more interesting in a platonic sense but im not gonna be surprised or disappointed if it's romantic. I'm desperate to see dany have a healthy and loving familial connection.
dany x aegon ... I'd be really surprised if this happened. based on what we've seen so far, I dont think dany will be romantically attracted to aegon. if he gets demanding (daario never commands her) then he's gonna be disappointed. furthermore, aegon doesn't seem to care about dany's campaign against slavery at all despite growing up in essos. I understand his priority is the Iron Throne but I would've liked to see him offer support to dany in meereen or show sympathy to her efforts or Something. that lack of sympathy or understanding will be a deal breaker. not to mention, dany wouldn't want to marry him if she believes he can continue House Targaryen. she'd encourage him to marry literally anyone else.
