6. What's something you have in common with this character?

we're both charmingly lame, hope that helps <3 no, but if we're being serious, i've always seen gwaine as someone who, despite putting himself in many situations, thinks of many different scenarios. and hear me out here, because i know he's characterised as impulsive a lot of the time, chaotic in that sense, but there are also many moments where he hesitates or makes a face at someone else's decision or whatnot, asks ten questions and then ten more where possible. i'm a lot like that too - making decisions on a whim or figuring out every last detail with no in-betweens. and if my own little idea is not for you, i'd say we're both very sincere too.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

oh, absolutely. it perhaps seems biased and in all honesty it is, but as long as he (occasionally) keeps me from making stupid decisions and i do the same, we'd get along great. and i think it would be entirely possible too. also i could probably drink him under a table so that helps. friendship building and all that.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

i really debated giving one that i haven't mentioned previously, but i just want to say the disney hugs thing again, because it's honestly one of my favourite headcanons not just for gwaine but in general. gwaine gives disney hugs. it's real and it does matter. (disney hugs, for anyone who might not know, are when you hug someone for as long as they need to, essentially not letting go until the other person does)

okay, i'm quite bad at drawing character parallels, so i genuinely don't have a single thought about this, but someone should tell me their thoughts so i can listen and learn and grow as a person

Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies

Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.

Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family

Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children. What hurts me most is my young son Ezz, who I see growing up in an unclean environment and with no healthy food for him. I believe he has not received his right to life.

At this stage, my husband and I decided to go to you and create an account on the Go Fund Me website and ask you to help us in these difficult times until we get out of Gaza, from the land of war to the land of peace. We will also use it for the rest of the travel and safe transportation expenses to provide for all family members.

hbomberguy’s latest video on plagiarism has made me completely rethink literature and writing. I have never once so much as considered intentionally plagiarizing anyone or anything, but I think there’s something more that has come out of this: the names of the people who created the works Somerton (and others) ripped off.

Plagiarism isn’t only bad because it is lazy and disrespectful, it’s bad because it buries the truth. If you can’t find a source, the conversation is over. Somerton’s sources are fairly easy to find by simply searching his plagiarized lines, but that isn’t true in most cases. Most of the time, the line from statement to source is a lot less clear.

Today, I was writing a report on English Ivy, which is an invasive species here in the US. I wanted to know when it was introduced and I at last found a source claiming it was introduced to the Americas “as early as 1727” on a .net website that seems quite reputable (it has multiple major universities credited in its home page), but there is no citation for where this date came from. I dug deeper and found a pamphlet created by a city government in Virginia that made the same claim, only to discover the first source linked in their bibliography. Another website (a botanical garden’s page) gave the same date with the same source hyperlinked. Of course, I have classes to attend and things to do and probably not enough time to follow the lines back to where this 1727 date came from, but if I had not just watched this video, I wouldn’t have given that date a second thought.

Of course, it doesn’t matter in the long run exactly what year hedera helix was introduced to the Americas, but it makes you wonder how many facts have been so vaguely attributed that it becomes completely impossible to figure out where they originated (and further, whether or not they’re true at all).

oh, what a question. when i was real teeny tiny i know i had those little book sets of all the classics (like the little mermaid, red riding hood, so on), but shorter versions, i think, and if i remember correctly, my favourite was sleeping beauty. i'm sure there were other books i liked, but my memory is not the best, so. that's the best i can give.

as a teen? oh, boy. i was a big reader - the type that bought about 5 books a week (and actually read most of em too). it all started with like the hunger games series and such, which honestly have great sentimental value to me. i know my favourite was the host (which i just had to reverse search for by looking at a certain actors roles, knowing he was in the movie adaptation, because i couldn't remember the english name for it). as i got a bit older, i remember liking we were liars. another one that really stuck with me was between shades of gray. a lot of ya stuff, really, that grew into more serious stories as i grew up.

as an adult, i don't have as much time, unfortunately, to read three books a week (at least), but i'd say a little life is the one that has really has stuck with me. you don't walk away from that one without a permanent change, so, i think it's only fair i choose it.

a white lily.

as ironic as it is, considering his previous namesake ( "snow lily" ), white lilies just bring him a sense of peace and nostalgia. they are pure and tranquil, which is something that he treasures, considering the chaotic life he's lived until now and how he sees himself as being impure. it might be hypocritical of him to hold something that has such deep meaning close to his heart, all things considered, but even still, they are his favorite.

confession — how’d the confession happen, and looking back on it, what are your (and f/o’s) thoughts about how you both were back then?

looking back... man. it's been so long. at least six or seven years ago. (though, in my au, it's been longer than that. but just speaking in IRL time.)

the confession i've always had thought of for him was something simple and yet, the feelings felt so complicated. i was the one to confess first. i was the one to fall in love first, too. it was all very easy for me to fall for him. he was handsome and charming and sweet and loving and he cared for me during a time where i felt disgusting and unlovable. he related to me. he was like a prince or a knight in shining armor. and after a while, it just got to a point where i couldn't hold it in anymore and i had to tell him.

val, well... he knew that he cared about me — more so than he ever thought that he would — but was this feeling love? true, romantic love? up to this point, he'd only ever experienced lust from partners, and then eventually he began to understand familial love through the alicein family and the years he spent living in their estate. but he'd never found anyone that he could truly love in the romantic sense. on top of being a vampire who never aged and couldn't die, he just never thought it would ever happen. he never expected anyone to fall in love with him. he never thought anyone would ever be able to truly see the real him, know all of the things he's done and been through in his past, and still completely accept him and want to be with him.

so when i confessed and told him that i loved him, it took a little bit for it to click in his mind. i actually worried that he didn't feel the same way based on how he paused and had to think about it. but, after a few minutes, he thanked me and told me that he did care deeply for me and loved me. he just needed some time to sort out his thoughts and asked if i would give him some time. i was worried, but i obliged him. i wanted to be patient with him and give him as much time as he needed.

of course things turned out well and he did eventually come back to me and accept my feelings and tell me that he felt the same way. which was relieving and made me so so happy. flash forward and now we've been married for years. we just passed our six-year marriage anniversary this last valentine's day, actually. the rest is history <3
