Headcanons for female reader who’s dating Mercy and Widowmaker when reader is sick? :)
Poly! Mercy x Widowmaker x Sick Gf
i didn't know if you meant poly or separate so i just did poly 🥲
update: IM SO SORRY IM TAKING SO LONG WITH REQUESTS, im getting kinda busy with school but i promise to have most requests done on the weekend!
babe you're literally dating a world renowned doctor.
you'll be getting the BEST treatments on the market
but that also means she won't have much time to take care of you...
she can take like 2 days off at most
which is why she writes out long, intricate instructions on how to take care of you for amélie
in my opinion amélie thinks sickness is disgusting.
like whenever you have a crunchy cough or you throw up, she'll have to physically hold back from making a disgusted face
but she pushes through for you
amélie wont spend that much time in the same room as you because she doesn't want to get sick, but she will occasionally come into your room to check up on you
(i feel like her immune systems much weaker now that her heart beats so slowly)
whenever she does visit you, she sends a short text to angela to keep her informed
she may seem cold and nonchalant about your sickness but when she thinks your asleep, she'll sit on the edge of the bed and kiss stroke your sweaty hair
amélie will press her cool palm to your forehead in hopes of relieving your fever
seeing you so weak and broken down sends an ache deep into her heart
she'll complain to angela about how she can barely sleep in a bed with others, especially when one's "infested with diseases" but when the angel comes back from work shes welcomed with the sight of amélies arm wrapped protectively around your waist to keep the fever away as you two sleep soundly
angelas heart Explodes.
after carefully renewing the cool towel on your forehead and checking your temperature, she'll start taking pictures of you two from EVERY angle
her pictures aren't really the best but it's cute!
she makes it her lockscreen and she'll open her phone in between shifts just to look at the picture with a love sick smile
once shes all cleaned up, she'll slide into bed in one of your oversized t-shirts and whisper a small "goodnight liebling, goodnight schatz"
in the morning, angela's exhausted since she usually sleeps in after long shifts but she forces herself to get up so she can take care of you
she sits up in bed for a good amount of time just trying to gather all of her energy to get out bed
but before she can move another muscle, a cool hand is on her wrist, gently tugging her back
"rest. i can take care of her"
the angel eagerly lays back into the bed and knocks out almost instantly
though she wakes up only about an hour later to the smell of burning...chicken??
she quickly rushes to the source of the smell until shes face to face with amélie who's scrubbing away at a blackened pot
empty cans of chicken noodle soup litter the counters
amélie turns around with the burnt pot in her hand and a sponge in the other and they just stare at each other for a moment
"do not say anything."
"i didnt plan to, how about we grab breakfast at that café you love so much?"
"oui, ange"
they walk to the nearby café together, talking about how their days went
"YOU FED HER BURNT SOUP TWICE???"
yeah...at least you got delicious pastries to make up for those...
liebling - darling
schatz - treasure
ange - angel

just finished pretty cure splash star and goddamn did this show stick the landing. the whole season really just felt like the writers saying "okay we've done this twice already, we know what we're doing now"
(info dump below the cut)
basically every aspect of the show was refined from futari wa and max heart, especially the fights. the fights in futari/max could be good but they tended to have the problem of nagisa and honoka just whipping out the marble screw whenever they wanted and winning instantly, making every fight feel like this.
(there were exceptions, like the final fight against poisony where she kept dodging so they had to use her hair as conductor to finally hit her. that fight impressed me so much its permanently burned into my brain).
splash star sidesteps this question almost completely by always having saki and mai be winning BEFORE they use their finisher. they have to create an opening or the splash blast wont hit, which makes each episode's monster of the week fight that much more interesting. (though in the second half of the show they do have a similar problem with their super forms, where moop and foop sometimes just forget they exist to be power ups until the writer decides pretty cure is done getting their asses kicked, making every other fight feel like this)
the villain minions were also consistently interesting, as opposed to futari wa where the first set of villains were interesting but the set in the second half were boring as hell, or max heart where the villains were better than the second half of its predecessor but still pretty boring for the most part. it also helped that the villains were rolled out one at a time and were the only threat until they were killed, at which point the heroes could restore one of the fountains. this really helped to give the series a sense of progression because something tangible was being accomplished every 7 or so episodes. futari wa had this in the first half with the prism stones, but completely lacked that in the second half. max heart tried to do this with the heartiels but they were so disconnected from the villains that they felt more like a side plot as opposed to like the point of the show. it also made it fun when the last batch of episodes had them all revive and team up and we finally got to see how they played off of each other as teammates. that bossrush finale really let splash star have its cake and eat it too in that regard.
also michiru and kaoru are just a way better version of kiriya, like that whole plot was just so much more thought out and satisfying. i still have no idea whats going on with kiriya after his "death" but michiru and kaoru had me crying in the last episode. their addition to the team in the last 8 episodes really felt like practice for the bigger group fight the franchise would focus on going forward, and you can tell from the choreography that they didn't really know what to do with double the heroes. thankfully they figured it out for the final battle. (awkward team choreography pictured below)
speaking of, goddamn those last 2 episodes really were just dragon ball z with magical girls, down to the big bad growing super muscley when he powers up to 100%. this is not a complaint, in fact its high praise that they did this while still feeling congruent with the rest of the show. honestly, i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. like max heart's finale blew me away and i think this was at least on par with that.
all that said, i do think saki and mai are weaker characters than nagisa and honoka. i dont hate them, in fact i grew to love them and am sad to see them go, but they still didnt quite measure up.
for mai it doesn't feel like she gets a lot to do outside of being saki's friend. like she joins the art club but thats only relevant in two maybe three episodes, as opposed to honoka's science club which probably had 6 or more episodes per show (though maybe im misremembering). i thought her being an artsy girl as opposed to honoka's stem girl swag would help differentiate the two, and her art in general does come up often enough, but she still plays the smarter, quieter one next to saki so it doesn't really change much of the protag pair's dynamic.
saki feels even more like nagisa, basically all their personality traits are identical. sporty, big eaters, has the obligatory straight crush, kinda dumb but social and fun. really the biggest difference is that saki isnt as good at her chosen sport (and i love that her team loses the championship, great episode, but even getting to the championship makes this distinction smaller). i like her obligatory hetero crush slightly more if only because it gets less attention than nagisa's, with i think only three dedicated episodes (that said, he should have had a girlfriend instead of it being a fakeout. they dont actually get together anyway and it would have made a good pair with the championship episode for the theme of "you dont always get what you want but thats okay").
still i think splash star was a stronger show overall than futari wa or max heart. i think those first two had a few higher highs, but splash star had less lows. its more consistently good.
so if you for some reason read all this but haven't watched Pretty Cure Splash Star, i definitely recommend it if you enjoy kids' shows. honestly its probably even better if you haven't watched the original futari wa pretty cure, since my main complaints were it not differentiating itself enough from its predecessors.
now to see how yes precure 5 stacks up
#precure#splash star#futari wa pretty cure splash star#pretty cure#i wouldve added more gifs and videos but theres a per post limit

nano day twenty
words today: 5393
words total: 48360
well i was um. not expecting to write that many words lol. i didnt think it would be!! that long of chapter end!! it was two scenes!! what the fuck!!
the answer is i had way to much fun writing for an early golden guard lol. that will probably be condensed in editing. but whatever!! i had fun today!! tomorrow i get to start king's last chapter!
might be his. last pov chapter in the entire story actually. im not sure if he'll get a pov in watching and dreaming. (bc right now the roster is luzmari 100%, collector and firefly and hunter are getting at least one pov, no idea about the others.). that'll be bittersweet to write.
my favorite part of what i wrote today:
“I just want SOMEONE!” he yells at her, and around him the air crackles with magic, like fizzing popping exploding bursts of stardust that singe against him. “King left! Philip left! The bully and my siblings and everybody left, and nobody! Ever! STAYS!” When he lunges an arc of stardust cracklebooms right in front of the owl’s face. She does not flinch away, even when the smoke clears and there’s a trail of ash smeared across her beak. The burn is heavy in their throat. Their breaths come out ragged. There’s bits of sharp golden not-blood pooling up underneath their nails. Grr-click-growl chirps at him soft, and her stardust reaches for him. C’mere you. He collapses to his knees where he stands. He’s not so sure what happens next. The owl finally moves. Slowly like each step hurts she leaves the barless cage and comes out the door and to him in the hallway and he didn’t even know he got so far away but she picks him up carefully, turns, and goes all the way back. Places him in her nest of sticks and twigs and bits of blanket, turns twice and sets down gently on top of him. Not crushing-heavy. But present-heavy. His fingers twitch and find one of her talons. “King’s wrong,” he sniffs into her, and she leans down, and watches him with wide, unblinking, dark eyes. “Right?” She nuzzles his face. She doesn’t say yes.
#nanoblogging#chatter#the golden guard stuff is fun but you dont get it#bc its way too self indulgent to be good lol.#like it IS included for Reasons that connect to the collector's arc n all#but oh my god i went overboard. haha. lol even#but its okay. i had a blast and that is what matters#and a grove of palistrom to you

Series Masterlist
Previous Chapter
It was Wednesdays birthday. Thing had let it slip to Évangéline few days prior. It was Enid's job to lure Wednesday to Crackstones crypt, and everyone to set up. Évangéline was worried on what Wednesday would say, she could guess the girl didn't want to have all these people celebrating her. Holding the 'death' cake, with the pink balloon, Évangéline took a deep breath.
The small murmuring of Enid and Wednesday could be heard outside. The room instantly went quiet, finding their hiding spaces. All was fine, until Ajax coughed.
"Whoever you are, show yourself." Wednesday pointed her torch around, looking for the culprit. "Try anything and you'll lose limbs."
"Surprise!" Everyone spoke, coming out of their hiding space. A chorus of the song Happy Birthday began as Évangéline walked towards Wednesday with a cake, offering a sorry smile.
Looking towards Thing, Wednesday saw the party hat and the moving of a finger, pretending to be orchestrating the song.
"I should have know you were behind this." Thing 'looked' downwards in sorrow. "What part of 'No party under the penalty of death' do you not understand?"
"I thought my cake design was pretty inspired." Xavier interrupted Wednesday reprimanding thing.
"The pink balloon was me and Evan." Enid spoke, smiling and nodding with Évangéline. "Why don't you make a wish?"
Wednesday gave a death stare to the cake and Thing. "Wait, it's Latin." Wednesday shone a light onto some lain carvings. "Fire will rain... when k rise."
"That's not really a wish." Enid deep panned, not seeing what Wednesday was fixated on.
"The first part of that was burned into Nevermore's lawn." Évangéline spoke towards Wednesday.
"It can't be a coincidence." The dark haired girl looked backwards.
"Wait, we're never eating that cake, are we?" Ajax asked, everyone was quietly watching Wednesday. She started to have a vision.
Seeing the girl lean all the way backwards, she pushed the cake into the closest person, this person being Xavier, and went to go catch Wednesday.
Everyone had turned their eyes to Évangéline, almost silently asking what's going on. The only look that didn't question her was Xavier.
Évangéline was looking for Wednesday, wanting to ask her about her vision. She had found her darker haired companion staring at the extinguished 'Fire will rain'.
"Wednesday!" At the sound of her name she looked behind, seeing the pink and brown haired girl quickening her pace. "What happened in your vision, last night?" She questioned, quieting her voice when she get nearer.
"I would rather not disclose." Wednesday's eyes darted to their fellow pupils, "not here at least." The two girls faces the ashy grass, basking in all its 'glory'.
"Last night, in the crypt, you had another vision. Didn't you?" A different voice spoke out of no where, making Évangéline jolt in her space. He whispered a quick sorry, making her heart swell in its place.
"I didn't realise we were back on speaking terms." Wednesday replied, eyes trained on the grass. Évangéline looked between Xavier and Wednesday and excused herself, seeing as if what they were about to talk about was a private matter.
Évangéline had finished her classes for the day and was wondering the castle. Her school had always been a place to intrigue her. Ever since she first attended, she knew she could get lost in her own thoughts as they echoed through her head and corridors of Nevermore. Her silence was interrupted by a tall dirty blonde.
"Évangéline," It was twice today Évangéline had seen Xavier. To her, it was odd. Throughout all their years in Nevermore, Xavier had never payed attention to her. To Évangéline, he would always brush over the fact that she was present. After years of pining, she was so close to succeeding. She wouldn't even be mad if they never became 'boyfriend and girlfriend', she would be content even just as friends.
"Hi!" At the sound of that she realised she was being to enthusiastic for this time of night. Clearing her throat, she started again, "Hi, Xavier." She sounded a lot calmer now, although she didn't feel it. She felt as it her stomach was doing jumping jacks and her heart wanted to crawl it's way up her throat.
The awkward tension between Évangéline and Xavier could be clearly cut with a blunt spoon. Neither of them knew what to say, Xavier had no idea what he was going to say to her. He knew he was finished when she turned and widened her eyes at the first 'hi'.
The clicking of heels were heard down the hall, breaking Xavier and Évangéline break out of silence. He clicking of heels was almost used as a refresher for Xavier, as now he knew what he was going to ask.
"Do you, uh, like art." He held the bale of his neck as he looked down awaiting an answer from the girl.
Meanwhile, Évangéline could only think of the drawing she had seen that one night in his room. "Yeah, I love it!" That was the truth, kind of. She liked looking at art and people doing art. Drawing was a no go for her. The only art form she could do was creative writing, and that wasn't even as visual as a painting would be. She could create pictures in the form of words just fine, but Xavier didn't have to know that.
Xavier did know that. "Well, I have this art shed. And I was wondering if you wanted to hang out, there, sometime?" He had a bashful look in his eyes as he looked at the shorter girl, awaiting and answer.
"Of course, I would love that!" She smiled, seeing his smile as well.

Borrel Brunze - probably The Bullkill - maybe
The Dittched - yes ###### - also yes
Seaweed! What are they most self concious about?
Perpep Pepnep - The stunting. She hates it a lot, that she's always going to be just "worse" than other people, the way she sees it right now. She hates that she cant form the only kind of relationship shes ever had, i.e. the fucked up quad thing she has with her culler, with anyone she knows for reasons that she didnt know she was unnacceptable in, i.e. age, that the whole world works on a ruleset that she was never told about. Why does age matter now when it didnt then type beat, he's twice her age. People say that older people are more mature so it would be a power imbalance but she feels uniquely less grown up than literally anyone she knows. it makes her want to just go back, since it would be easier and safer and she would maybe be happier, at least she thinks so, if she could go back to the life she had before people wouldnt be telling her the only person shes ever knwn and her closest friend and lover is a monster. She had the bandage ripped off and it took the skin with it, but the skins necrotic, just putting the bandage back on would be worse, and you couldn't've worn it forever "Oftcas" Niptur - Ironically, also kind of similar. Not stunting though, that she never had the chance to be a kid, and that she's now the oldest person in any given room. Tv always shows teens having like romances dates and coming come to their lusus or having grill outs or whatever, she never got that. She only really even talks to a peer ever though i guess talk is the wrong word because the halfiron is almost fully nonverbal. Her psionics are tuned towards social environments, she gets *lonely*. Its why she hangs out at the hospital so much, its a huge group of people she can be around. but even when she was able to go out in public without wearing a ghillie suit or a lusus fur cloak she couldnt get close to people, not intimately. if anyone saw her gills- the ones she didnt burn fused- the ones on her ribs, dead. and forget pailing. Someone would have to really not know what olive is supposed to look like to not notice... maybe she tried tattooing her bits olive like she did with her scars... hm. She's an intersex analogue and a trans analogue. She does what she has to to survive. On Continua, Detheo B is gonna have a lot of work once he's in a state to start holding up the pale side of the whatever they have. Sixty years of unpacking once she can finally let out that held breath. Twenty eight sweeps of sawing parts of herself off so her hexagon can fit the square hole.
Detheo Ordeor - His facade. He considers the ... pet regressed? version of himself he indulges in in the garden to be the real him. He hates talking, he hates people. Detheo Ordeor is a character he plays. And he fucking hates that guy. Detheo Niptur - His baby face. Not lacking facial hair-- i mean not Not lacking facial hair, but its not weird for his age for that-- He's small, both naturally and due to the stress he went through when he was hiveless he's just gonna be small. like forevver, it knocked a few inches off his already short stature. Hell on Beforus where he had really soft life when it comes to basic needs like that Perpeps half his age and still taller than him. He. Hates. being underestimated. He's not that scared prawn anymore- he spars with an adult troll and he wins more often than any other she spars with. The fastest way to die around him is to act like he isnt a threat. It frenzies him. It. Pisses. Him. Off.
Somati Visoma - the way his mutations made his proportions wrong. he's the height of an adult purple at nine sweeps, but he didnt grow normally, his skull is taller for one, hands and feet are bigger, the gigantism is most obvious in places with many small bones, because they all keep growing. Its why he wears baggy clothes. He also feels useless. His culler puts a lot of work into being sunny around him but it just feels fake to him, makes him feel like more of a dead end, like he should do more in return, or hurry up and die so she can get on with her life. The Sanguine, Ur-Clown, Ur-Crane - The same dysmorphia. Probably a bit more acutely, especially as he ages, especially as the ur-clown. it was part of his act when he was in the carnival. When they stopped calling him serial culler and started calling him a cryptid,,, well.
Declan "Bluebell" Ferics - To be honest, probably just their disabilities. Mental ones more than physical but all of it. They're stubborn, they're spiteful, its a cover for how sensitive they are about it. They've been made to feel like shit for needing accommodations, and their hive is a legal trial of overthinking pseudo laws. They have to justify anything they want with legal precedent. The Halfiron - Atrocious bedside manner. Thats whats plexus is for.
The SetMedic "Azokie" Axilla - She transitioned late. She's butch but shes not very confident in her femininity yet. Most self conscious about her boobs i think Plexus Axilla - Her blood. Her appearance. Her blood. She hates it. So much. It and everything it represents, every obvious fuckup she did that would have gotten a burgundy killed, every lowblood patient who died for no fucking reason, its the part of her she hates most.
The Hungjury - God... I have no idea. Dlicti Secutu - The scars. Specifically the mouth scar and her manacle and collar scars... and that little :c) scar on her right bicep. And a few others under her clothes. She doesn't fault herself for them and her rational brain doesn't hold them against her and knows on principle that she shouldnt let herself feel ashamed of them, but. she doesn't like looking at them. She has to trust you a lot to feel comfortable with someone looking at them too closely.
Calixtus - Lack of identity. Cali doesn't feel like they have an internal life. They've debated the idea that maybe they're a philosophical zombie, nothing behind the eyes. They don't know if its a mediator cherub thing or just something 'broken' with them, but they. hate talking about themself. a lot.
The Critical - Lack of friends, lack of quadmates. Tirent Bawurz - ...Also that. In the dream bubbles he feels violated, knowing his murderer and his first ghost companion saw his face unpainted. not the same as self conciousness but. yeah. He's very self concious. just in general.
Bucket Gemnat - Yes. Everything. All the time. She's self concious about her horn shape, her name, her transness, her caste, her 'failing to pass,' her 'horrible personality,' her lack of energy, her cruel friends. Her intrusive thoughts. The Pailborn - Everything the same as on Beforus.
Feralone - Her kind of inability to exist in society. Banyet Cleeaw - Gender dysphoria. She's cis, but she never thought she looked enough like a girl, being hairy, flat, and stocky. She channels this into her music.
Oomani Cartor - Oomani struggles with. everything after her violent burnout, but he just doesn't take care of herself. She's sensitive about "how far hes fallen" going from a psion prodigy to legally incompetent. Even without the dissorder she would be depressed right now. No wonder his culler needs to use jedi mind tricks to get her to shower. The ShortOut - The Short Out is dead... if ghosts keep their mental dissabilities then she'd also be. uh. kind of. braindead as a ghost. The same thing that happened to Oomani happened to the ShortOut, but alternian implants are more invasive, not intended to let you be a person who can leave at will, so she got off a lot worse. he got off a lot worse...
The Unstrung - He's self concious about being a stoner hippie. A failure by traditional values. He always kind of feels like he failed his lusus. Qadrum Tunead - Ditto. Universal constant.
Borrel Brunze - She's hard of hearing due to a tbi and cant volume control, shes. sensitive about that. The Bullkill - Having to kill lusii. Its literally her job, she hates it like a lot. She wishes she could use anything other than a bolt gun.
The Dittched - Ditto as their Alt self, but with extra cullee trauma. ###### - Their 'broken brain.' Their lusus abandoned them and they starved as a wriggler too young to hunt, they ate sopor to fill their stomach and it rotted their brain and rotted their stomach. They aren't doing well, even now that they can lay traps. Some days its hard to resist getting back on sopor just cause at least then they'd feel less, even as it destroys them.
Seaweed ! Favorite lie.
Perpep Pepnep - That she was never abused. "Oftcas" Niptur - The plausible deniability that her policy of cutting ties with proteges once they're self sufficient gives her, so she doesn't have to know if they die.
Detheo Ordeor - That he has never abused her. Detheo Niptur - "Short people are more dangerous cause we're closer to hell" or maybe "you know seadwellers are poisonous?" theyre more of jokes but he finds them so funny that he wrote them on some of his communication cards
Somati Visoma - That if he doesn't think about it it will be easier. That he can forget he's dying. The Sanguine, Ur-Clown, Ur-Crane - I don't know if he has one. Seer of Doom means he's not often wrong about things... He has a comfortable delusion he indulges in, sleep, omori style, but its not a lie, really.
Declan "Bluebell" Ferics - Ferics hates lies as nearly much as Perpep. The Halfiron - all of the lies that hide the hospital from prying eyes.
The SetMedic "Azokie" Axilla - The dark carnival, the afterlife. It comforts her even distanced from her faith as she is to think her cullee could exist happily after death. Plexus Axilla - Her identity as One One One, or Onthri her work persona.
The Hungjury - "Justice is blind" Dlicti Secutu - That eating watermelon seeds makes them grow in your stomach.
Calixtus - Everything will be okay.
The Critical - Purple Supremacy Tirent Bawurz - probably also that.
Bucket Gemnat - Escapism, she indulges it a lot. The Pailborn - Also that. Bucket doesn't change much across dimensions.
Feralone - I have no idea Banyet Cleeaw - I have literally no idea
Oomani Cartor - Miketrap. the fnaf theory. its funny to him. The ShortOut - uh...
The Unstrung - ancient aliens Qadrum Tunead - conspiracy theories
Borrel Brunze - ??? The Bullkill - That its more peaceful to use a bolt-gun.
The Dittched - That their lusus was killed, that they didnt leave on purpose. ###### - ditto.
#ask game#god its literally all of them do i tag all of them???#tbi stands for traumatic brain injury by the way

@kamijoxversailles you want to go? I can do this all day.
I never had lapsang souchong (i dont think so at least), and yes actually i misspoke and meant earthy for the pu'er. Specifically the yunnan pu'er shu i have at home. I like it a lot and it's got a very specific taste. I assume it's a commonality between pu'er but i havent tasted many.
I do not like earl grey nor anything else that has come into contact with bergamot. In fact, i hate bergamot with the passion of a thousand burning suns. That's a character flaw im afraid, and i wont budge.
Of course i meant loose leaves whenever possible. Loose leaves got me in a chokehold and refuse to let me go back to tea bags. Peace was never an option.
As for water temperature, i try to keep it within the recommended range they usually give you when you buy loose tea leaves, but i do ad lib it a lot when the mood strikes (or look it up online and find 10 different results lol). Generally tho it's between 70-85 for green teas depending on the variety and how much i want it to be strong and 90-ish for blacks and pu'er, even tho sometimes i go lower for a more mellow flavour. 95 or whatever for herbal blends and ofc 70 or lower for whites. Brewing times tend to be however much i think it's going to be required, unless i forget it and oversteep the leaves lmao. Usually a minute-ish (?) with blacks and greens, but it varies. And ofc i wash out the leaves first. And i usually brew it at least twice or more depending.
Anyways usually my teas are long jing or jasmine green tea, yunnan dianhong if im feeling in the mood for black tea or my aforementioned pu'er. I have a Mystery Tea that a friend gifted me that she swears it's a green tea but i actually think it's a yellow one because it's really mellow, but i cant be sure. I do have some tieguanyin too and a white monkey, but i do not drink them as much. I have some assam tea but its just kind of sitting there forgotten bc it feels too strong a flavour no matter how little i brew it, and a vietnamese green tea that tastes like spinach is i oversteep it. Weird. I had a laaarge bag of qimen and some yinzhen that i struggled to finish and i never want to drink qimen ever again now but that's it. And i hate hate hate bi luo chun, but that may be because i didnt know how to steep it yet back when i had it. I have a bag of kukicha that's pretty neat, even tho i get the feeling it's a weird tea choice bc it's not leaf based.
I have no idea what tung ting is tbh, and im not the biggest sencha fan, but i could be moved to give them a first or second try. Whenever i had it i havent liked matcha at all but that could be because maybe ive never had it properly brewed so im reserving judgement on that one.
Which kind of yunnan tea did you mean tho? I have at least two teas that have yunnan in their name by virtue of being from the yunnan region, so im a bit lost there.
We call rooibos tea in my language even tho it's not, so that's why it's on there (and i dont like the flavour, what can i do), and by fruity teas i dont mean herbal blends i mean specifically those tea blends that have fruit flavours mixed inside. Ew. No. Just no. For context: i was that kid that hated candies and chewing gum and any and all "artificial fruit flavour" ever. Fruit flavoured teas just are an all around bad experience to me.
Now, that's different from herbal blends in my books, specifically because i am all for plants and flowers releasing flavours in my hot water, and that's what i mean by herbal blends. Idk if it has another name in english. May be infusions? No idea. Anyways in my home we are devout chamomile drinkers and any and all herbal blends we come across tbh. Chrysantemum anyone? Just me? I blame that one on my study period abroad.
Oh and i dont like to drink tea with milk bc i prefer the taste of plain tea (no sugar no nothing ofc, that should be obvious at this point). I do drink milk tea on occasion (the occasion being me going to a boba place with friends and not wanting the boba part so i can only get the milk tea part) but i dont like it much so i dont go out of my way to get it. And i hate tapioca pearls, sorry not sorry. It links back to me hating candies and gummies unfortunately. And it's not as if i can get plain tea there bc those shops here tend to have really really strong (and bitter!) tea so it can better complement the milk. Or something. Not a fun drink at all.
Ive never had masala chai nor any other indian tea variations so i cant say anything in favour or against that.
Hmmmm that's it for my Tea Opinions? Yea that's it. For now.
(yes im coming for yall)
#im play fighting of course#i hope that was obvious#also you were speaking my language with you raring about tea varieties and water temperature and such#feel free to answer in kind or even just ignore me anyways#i repeat: THIS IS JUST TO MESS AROUND AND HAVE A PLAY FIGHT#all tea is good tea and my opinions are of course subjective and based on myself#if i needed to spell that out#i just like to sow chaos on inane things#btw if anyone was wondering why i knew the chinese names for the tea and not the other ones that's because ive studies chinese so i just#remember the chinese names better

oh no im thinkin about valira again
#guys i just love her so much :((#ive made lots of dnd pcs but none have gotten to develop nearly as much as she did#also i realized something wild#which is that. i made her when i was ~ uhhh 16 ish?#and now im 21. so her entire character is Very much a relic of my past mindsets and attitudes#which is SOOOO interesting to me!!! like she tended to be nervous and the mom-friend and overly polite#but also. a bit spacey and slightly chaotic but only when she was the one in danger never anyone else#also she was quite lonely even within the party aside from her trust in one (1) person who was her best friend (laurel)#and she was a cleric from the start aka made herself#vital to the party so they had a reason to keep her around.#and she loved pancakes and oj its just her favorite thing in the World#and her aim is bad bc on my first ever attack i rolled TERRIBLY and one time in her alchemy lab she let something explode#and lost hearing in her left ear permanently (i shouldve given her a burn scar but didnt think about it at the time)#but she has high int low wis bc shes so clever but also doesnt always think things through when she gets caught up in the wave ofexperiments#and shes been revived Twice she keeps dying bc she sprints all over the battlefield to constantly heal her party#and spare the dying is her favorite cantrip bc it stabilizes people and avoids death saves but its touch only#so she would jump into the field to tap someone and save them and then get hit but at least she saved them#she. did not have a great sense of self worth tbh#but anyway. shes a relic of my own mindset and it would be sooooo interesting to play her Now and compare my own real growth#its so importantto me that i genuinely dont identify with the way she thinks anymore but god i adore her so much#ALSO last year i thought up a plot where she gets possessed and goes off#LITERALLY the epitome of 'arent u tired of being nice dont u wanna go apeshit' LITERALLY#bc it would be INCREDIBLE for valira as someone who was#never mean and repressed almost every Mean Thought bc again. product of my brain at the time#but i talked through a concept w kaity (laurel) last year where valira gets possessed and just goes apeshit#and like. she has the capability to absolutrly destroy people and be ruthless#also we talked about laurel talking her down/being the first to notice something was off (which i Also love)#talks#valira#oh im out of tags. anyway i love her the most :( she wears a labcoat like a NERD

could u do dating bella swan as a werewolf!fem!reader?<33 loved your galadriel headcanons
𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎 𝐷𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎 𝑊𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓:
Pairing: Bella Swan x fem!werewolf!reader
Warnings: a bit angsty
Notes: tysm for the request your so sweet! Sorry this took a little while to get out btw. Requests are open and feedback is welcomed and encouraged!
- Coco ❤️
You were Jacobs cousin but spent most of your time with him and Billy rather than your family.
You had seen/met Bella once or twice but you were very little and don't remember much
But you have met Charlie Swan, he always seemed like a nice man and often invited you and your family over to watch a baseball game.
When news of the infamous Bellas moving to Forks you were relatively unfazed.
But Jacob was chomping at the bit to get to know her.
You met her the same time jacob did and it was hard to watch the two interact, but she seemed sweet(and very pretty).
Unlike your cousin you actually attended Forks high-school, it was closer to home.
You noticed Bella was a bit shy and socially awkward so you invited her into your friend group and hit it off well.
And when she started taking a interest in a certain blood sucking freak you were sure to steer her in the right direction.
And she listened to your advice
For three days.
She had said some bs about how you wouldn't be able to change her mind about seeing him so it's not worth the fight. And you gave up because you rlly wanted things to work between the two of you.
And you didn't really mind, I mean yes it was dangerous but Bella could take care of herself[and the fact that you had a real big crush on her]. You didn't mind that is until she started ditching you.
"Oh sorry y/n I can't tonight... I'm going to the movies with Edward"
Or "I promised Edward I'd study with him, can't jacob help you?"
It hurt you to say the least and Bella was so blinded by her crush for Edward she didnt even notice.
By Bellas birthday your relationship had practically withered away but you still got her a present. A handmade booksleeve in her favorite colour.
And then...the accident happened. The Cullens left Forks abruptly leaving a heartbroken Bella and a confused town.
You didn't really know what happened but according to Billy, nothing good.
And as selfish as it sounds you were glad you got to get back in touch with her.
You helped her get over her stupid breakup, reminding her that Edward didn't deserve her whatsoever.
You comforted her and let her cry in your arms
You made sure she ate well and got enough sleep
And you even made a bonfire with Jacob and your friends to burn all of Bellas photos, clothing and memories of Edward.
Things were going great until you started distancing yourself.
Making up illnesses and just flat our ignoring her seemed better than the truth, I mean you just couldn't tell her.
She thought that you were ignoring her because of how she treated you before. She felt like a jerk.
So of course when she shows up to Jacobs and demands to see you, things don't go swimmingly.
She finds out and she's...honestly not as shocked as she should have been
" look Bella I understand if you don't wanna talk to me anymore, I'm surprised you can even look at me-"
"Y/n I've already been through the whole my friend is a mythical creature thing. Besides who will I complain about the rain to?"
And then she realized she really did eff up pretty badly with you when she was dating Edward and it wasn't ok.
You were studying- or at least trying to study when you were interrupted by bella throwing rocks at your window.
You looked down onto the yard where she was standing and holding up a sign that read "I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE SAID THIS SOONER BUT WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME? p.s im sorry for being a jerk :(" And a bouquet of your favorite flowers to top it off.
You excitedly nodded and quickly got ready for a impromptu date.
You guys went to a drive in movie, sat in the back of her truck and kissed under the stars~
Ok but Bella would be really good with dates
Like hiking to some obscure spot just cuz there's pretty flowers? It's a no brainer for her
You help her cook for her dad and Charlie loves you like a seccond daughter
You read and stargaze together on her roof
You make picture albums with the camera her dad got her for her birthday.
And she constantly finds she keeps "misplacing" her sweaters and flannels
You guys are really the power couple of Forks no matter what the creepy homophobic old guys say🏋♂️
Your families already get along great with each other so there's really no fuss when it comes to that.
Jacob is a little miffed that you "stole" Bella from him but she reassures him that he'd never stand a chance.
You get engaged 2 years after high-school, which seems pretty early but you know you'll never ever find someone as great as bells in Forks
The wedding is small but that's the way you both wanted it
It's in her backyard, in the forest and the reception is at her house.
Ok I lokey hate her wedding dress(no shade if you like it tho!) So let's say she wore this one, it's close enough but much better(in my opinion)!
And ofc u wear whatever u want!
Bella lokey loves wolf version of you, I mean the piggyback rides are insane.
And your just so fluffy, great cuddle material.
You guys have a quiet simple life but it's never boring.
If you decide to have children I'm thanking the God's it won't be named Renesme.
You guys love to cook together and try new recipes
She eventually gets used to the rain and gloom of Forks. It seems to be growing on her tbh
Sometimes you'll be sitting on your bed watching a old movie and both of you will just sit and laugh about what life would gave been like if Edward had stayed in Forks.

i always wondered if you ever read any violentine/twg fanfiction and if you have could you tell us your favorites? Or what tropes would you like to read? Idk I just really like this ship and since there was so little content I could find so i read a lot of shit 💀 but I hold a special care for it since it was one of the first fandoms I entered and finding out Clem was bi meant a lot to me cause you don't see a lot of bi representation that isn't like "I like fucking anything that moves🤩(Yea Im looking at you Elite)”.
So yeah I'd like to hear you thought of fanfiction and stuff.
i tried once or twice but didnt get farther than the first chapter or so on the few i tried 😔 i kinda for the most part stopped reading fic after high school to be fair, so im very particular about what i Do read when it comes to fic now. and on ao3 at least since im afraid of wattpad there really hasnt been anything that held my attention (at least in the past. like i said i havent tried looking in a couple years so who knows). i need plot/character development heavy stuff that i can really sink my teeth into and i didnt really find much of that... and the "tropes" i like are more determined by which characters im applying them to so i dont always like the same ones across the board
someone asked me this question a while ago and i asked for any fic recs at the time but i only got like.. one? im really not sure what the state of twdg fic is like honestly
DESPITE all that tho im still slowly slowly SLOWLY meticulously steadily working on my own oneshot that i WILL FINISH I SWEAR its over 20 pages currently and only like 2/3? done?? and half edited BUT it IS outlined so..... i just have to.. you know..... actually Finish it....
i posted some snippets from it a while ago (HERE) but here's a couple longer ones since ive written about 10 more pages (plus like 5 in outlines) since then. im Really particular about the flow of my writing which is like.. the main reason why i take so long to write.. gotta fix it until it Feels Right
A comfortable silence seemed to settle over them then. The wind outside the shack still blew harshly, whistling against the broken windows. But as the girls sat by the warm glow of the fire, and listened to the crackling of the burning logs, it was enough to melt their tension. At least a bit.
The silence continued until the fire began to dwindle with the last of the logs. "We're going to have to start burning those..." Clementine said as she looked at the loose boards they had kicked aside earlier.
"I got it," Violet said as she stood, not even giving Clementine a chance to move. As she grabbed a board and kicked hard at its center, trying to break it in two, Clementine twisted her mouth. Not at the other girl, but at herself. She was still getting used to her new limitations, and it frustrated her knowing there were just certain things that she couldn't or struggled to do now.
The boards had been sturdy once, but due to age and exposure, they had eroded enough that Violet was able to break them with relative ease. She threw a couple of the pieces on the fire and set the rest by the hearth as she returned to where she had been at Clementine's side. She gave her a soft, reassuring smile as the fire came back to life, and Clementine gave a soft smile in return, breaking her from her thoughts, if only momentarily.
She heaved a sigh as her eyes were drawn back to the missing portion of her left leg. She thought about the trek awaiting them in the morning, and her mouth twisted again. "Ugh, walking through all of that snow is gonna fuck up my leg..."
The soft smile on Violet's face became mischievous. "Don't worry, I can just carry you instead." She said it nonchalantly, but the fluttering in her chest betrayed her.
Clementine quirked her eyebrow in response to the bold statement, smiling skeptically as she laughed "Uh, aha, yeah right."
"What, don't think I can?" Violet responded, the look on her face unbothered by the other girls reaction. "Brody was the one who carried you to the school after you crashed and I'm, like, at least as strong as Brody was."
Clementine's face dropped at the revelation. "Wait-... Brody brought us back?"
"Uh..." Violet hesitated at the change in Clementine's voice. "Yeah... Her and Marlon. She was the only one he would ever take outside the safe zone." She explained, and as an aside to herself said "Huh, guess it makes sense now..."
The playful atmosphere had now quickly disappeared, only to be replaced with a quiet, somber one. In the short time Clementine had to get to know Brody, she felt they had started to become friends. However, there weren’t many good memories made between them, and so Clementine more easily remembered the bad ones.
She could still remember that stormy night in the cellar clearly, could remember the sounds of Brody's inhuman screeching. The hot blood on her hands as she fought against the turned girl for her life. The guilt sinking in her chest like a black hole as she looked over what she had done. What she had to do. Clementine mourned her in the way she mourned everyone else she had lost. And it never got any easier.
Violet watched Clementine as she internally fought through her feelings, and once again regretted her words. She didn't want to think about Brody, either. And felt guilty over unintentionally bringing those awful memories to the surface. Clementine told them what Marlon had done that night, yet never talked about what happened after. But Violet had helped the others with the bodies, had seen what Clementine was forced to do. She remembered the sight clearly, as clearly as she remembered feeling that Marlon got what he deserved.
--
"Maybe we should try to get some sleep before it gets cold in here..." Clementine suggested tentatively.
Violet shifted, stretching her arms out in front of her, catching the last of the heat from the hearth on her fingers. "We should use the bed, then. It'll at least be better than the floor. Plus, there's a blanket."
Violet stood up then, stretching her legs as Clementine looked up at her. "Are you sure that thing isn't completely rotted?"
"It should be okay. We only brought it in here a little over a year ago."
"'We'? Why?"
"Uh-" Violet started at that, averting her eyes. "Um... Minnie and I... we kinda... used to hang out here..."
"Oh..." Clementine wasn't sure what to say to that, but it did confirm her suspicions. So instead, she relented. "Okay."
But she hesitated, looking between her leg and her prosthetic where it still sat propped against the side of the fireplace. "Hmm..." Should she put it back on? The bed wasn't far...
"Here," Violet reached her hand out, noticing the hesitation, "let me help you."
Clementine eyed the outstretched hand, considering her options, and once again twisted her mouth at her new limitations. She kind of hated this. She had done everything on her own for so long, and now...
"C'mon, it's okay."
She looked back and forth between Violet's face and outstretched hand a few times before finally relenting. "...Fine." She really didn't want to lace up her prosthetic just to immediately take it off again.
Clementine took her hand, and Violet helped pull her up to stand. They leaned close as she found her balance, gripping tightly at Violet's shoulder with her free hand. It only took a short moment, and once Clementine stabled herself, her eyes locked with Violet's. They both started a bit when they noticed how close they had become, face to face.
"Aha. Um, you good?" Violet asked, slightly flushed.
"Yeah," Clementine said, hiding her blush better than the other girl. "Thanks."
#twdg#violentine#replies with lexi#incognito#i know how you feel anon i remember the fic tag for them being pretty....barren..#at least compared to what i was used to being into popular ships in big fandoms in the past#i was kind of surprised honestly#but to be fair i read a lot of mlm main pairing stuff in the past and wlw just seems to get less love in fandom spaces in comparison :/#violentines get cozy under my wing i will provide for you#really trying to tackle themes of like#clem dealing with her new disability. learning to rely on others instead of always being the one relied upon#settling into ericsons and solidly accepting it as a safe home. for Real this time#clems past traumas finally catching up to her now that she is in a safe place and is beginning to truly process these events#vi dealing with her guilt over everyone she couldnt save#the way she feels guilty over leaving clem/aj in the woods and feeling partially responsible for her leg#feeling conflicted over her feelings for minnie#(anger? guilt? loss?)#and therefore feeling conflicted over her feelings for clem#(finding new love. more guilt. in a space where her and minnie had good memories together)#(this is a friended route vi where they have feeling for each other but are only acting now that the raiders are no longer a threat)#ok wow you think ive said enough at this point? this post is huge............#ive been talking for too long

also seeing the season's certain male cc's get hyped about and non male cc's get sexism and misogyny instead is infuriating
pearl in double life doing a fun little "lone wolf crazy lady in the woods in her tower" bit was fun and she acted like she was red and with no alliances and it was fun but i noted a lot of hate she got for being her own person and her own individual actions getting scott killed because their lives were connected
cleo in limited life got so much hate for burning down the mansion twice when it literally didnt matter the mansion's inside was never going to be used properly. grian, jimmy and joel already decided to make their base on the top from the beginning so burning it down was fine. but cleo got attacked for it so much (at least from what i was seeing and from conversations i had with people when i'd talk about how funny it was and they'd be all "she pissed me off mehmehmeh"
lizzie had no allies in secret life and her death was all about jimmy and for a few jokes yeah its a little haha that jimmy wasnt out first but her whole area and thing that season was overshadowed by a headcanon/canary curse thing. throughout season's lizzie has been forgotten about when her pov is really fun and i think a lot of people would enjoy it
and now gem in her first season where she did so incredibly well and everything she did to engage with the other players became some argument and point of criticism and misogyny online to the point where she turned off her comments on the finale episode and had to speak about it on twitter
let woman have hobbies and let those hobbies be arson, murder and other various crimes
one point i think the life series community needs to understand with the misogyny and sexism is the major double standard between things that happened in previous seasons vs what gem did in secret life
basically as i was rewatching grian's third life pov yesterday i remembered that thing where grian and scar covered the desert in tnt and planned to kill all the dogwarts guys off (which failed but the intention is the point) and then in the finale there were just attacks and all out fighting
yet people hated when gem had the boogeyman infection in secret life because it was too forced or smth.
secret life was a longer season than most and with christmas coming up and heritcraft season 9 ending it made sense to get more reds on a server and have someone make that happen. the tasks were random (to my knowledge)
the double standard between what gem did with traps, her and pearls teamup, the boogeyman curse is all what she gets hated for but when a male player does things in the life series at the same level of gem's actions its never talked out or made out to be an issue
and i can garentee there's more examples apart from third life and people have stopped realising what the life series "rules" actually are. there are no rules. its a hardcore series where you arent required to be allied with anyone and can abide by what your colour says you can do.
the task said to infect everyone so gem infected everyone. anyone that's actually mad gem did her task honestly isnt worth arguing with but i just wanted to say smth because it makes me so mad that gem had to turn off her comments and deal with blatant misogyny over a minecraft series where she played so incredibly well and was a great pov to watch this season.

For the The Excessively Detailed Headcanon Tumblr Meme asks Kai 1, 6, 7, 14, & 20
What does their bedroom look like?
Kai's bedroom is very minimalistic he's got a dresser and clothes, a desk, a nightstand and a bed. At least that's what it looks like to and outside.
Kai's desk is literally stuffed with drawings and other things from his family that he hoards, he also has a bunch of boxes under his bed with more stuff from everyone/birthday presents.
top of his dresser has literally so much crap he didnt want lloyd and jay to reach falling off it that the little scavengers get the stuff anyways.
6. Eating habits and samples daily menu
Kai literally puts hot sauce on everything, eggs? Hotsauce. Skittles? Oh yeah that definitly needs hot sauce
Daily menu sorta depends on whos cooking but ingrediants are usually bought either on sale or in bulk to save money since theres so many people
So things like eggs, peanut butter, noodles and rice
Ergo things that are made a lot are: eggs of all kinds, curry, fried rice, PB pancakes, noodles with PB sauce, pb sandwiches and thibsg like that
7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time:
When Kai actually does decide to waste time he either plays video games or tries learning different dances, his favorite is breakdancing!
however its pretty rare for Kai to waste time on himself, usually only if none of his other siblings are doing anything because he got so used to doing everything for Nya and him that its hard to just, not need to do somethng productive or helpful.
14. Physical abnormaties?
I think aside from the scar above his eye he also has several burns on his hands and arms from both his power and the forge, has chronic pain in his hands, back and some other places.
Also has lots of cut scars everywhere from ninja work and also has phantom pains from some of the worse ones.
Definitely on the short side due to malnourishmente.
permanant eyebags.
I think that aside from Lloyd, Kai has the most stretchmarks, going from slightly starving half to getting more then enough food at the monestary, Kai always did his best to spare Nya from going hungry so she was still sorta malnourished but not as bad.
Once they both got a more steady diets they shot up to full quite a bit and then kai stayed at that height and nya grew a little bit afterwards.
20. Childhood illnesses?
Again kai was pretty malnurished and because of that he got sick a lot in winter, mostly colds and maybe the flu once or twice, one time he got pneumonia though and it was pretty bad, of course nya and kai didnt know that it was pneumonia just that kai almost died
that was the reason nya learned how to work the force actually as before kai didn't want her touching it but with him being really out of it and them needing money and such... Well yeah.

hi so i just recently started reading mh and im all caught up and reread like twice at least now😬 its amazing and i love everything about it, the plot so far, the characters development and your way of writing! is! amazing! i know some people complain about the slow burn but honestly it makes me so happy when i read any book and its going how it would irl and not “they fucked, bam they in love” i find it so much more interesting and enjoyable this way so you’ve gained a fan! ill be checking out your other works once i have more time from work!
also kiko! wow the hate shes been getting?&?$? shes honestly not even a villain she seems like a sweetheart that just made a few mistakes but like who doesnt? i honestly didnt know how much hate she was getting until i read mh on wp( i found you on ao3 ), i feel like readers are so used to the second female being a hater, bitch etc etc which kiko is not.
anyways, i just wanted to ask lol bc my heart been broken so many times before is this a happy ending or a sad one🥺 i gotta prepare my heart hshhshz i honestly cant predict bc your plot twists are so🤯 do they end up falling in love or drifting apart🥲
thank you for creating this masterpiece🤍🥂
found this in my inbox and it would be a shame not to answer it!!
thank you so much for loving this story and I hope you’ll love the others too! unfortunately I can’t answer your question, there is a possibility for both (or a few) endings :) I think revealing it would ruin the whole story and the experience you guys have while reading it! hope you understand, thank you again x

for one thing, i realized im really drawn to media with suicidal characters, and specifically the character themselves. maybe i should think abt that, but eh who has time for that yk!
anyways, im gonna talk abt how much i hatee when ppl have crushes on jd or justify what he did because hes hot and how ppl dont realize the actual bad stuff he did bcuz i can
first of all, yes he is hot. thats coming from a sapphic/aroace/idk person who would never date a man, but i can kindaa agree hes hot. in the movie at least. but thatll never justify what he did. if a conventionally ugly person did that i promise u not a single person would like him. he literally killed 3 people, sexually assaulted/harassed the same girl twice, and threatened to kill her if she didnt let him BLOW UP A HIGH SCHOOL
“but heather, kurt, and ram deserved it!” these kids are 17. in the musical, veronica says that “they were just 17, they couldve grown”. or smth like that, but either way, its not justified to kill children/teens over ur own shitty life. i mean.. maybe kurt and ram kind of deserved to die, i mean they sa’d girls.. its kind of a fine line. i stand by my belief that heather didnt deserve to die for being a bully. also, the entire freaking school definitely did not deserve to die.
“but he had a bad life!” okay well just bcuz ppl have gone through trauma doesnt mean they try to blow up whole ass schools. and yes, trauma can cause unhealthy attachments, which jd was definitely unhealthily attracted to veronica, but its not an excuse.
and im SOO TIRED of hearing ppl saying “id open the door!” (for context, at one point near the end, jd breaks into veronicas house and, with a gun, threatens to kill her if she doesnt comply with him.) first of all, she couldnt have opened the door, she was hanging from the ceiling in a fake suicide. second of all, if someone was at your door screaming abt how they will kill u if u dont let them kill everyone in ur school (including ur friends), no matter how hot or sad they are, ur not gonna want to let them in.
i also dont like when ppl romanticize jdronica. i dont see it much, but i wanna talk abt it anyways. veronica is an ABUSE VICTIM. its not shown fully how it affects her mentally, but shes obviously not happy. she tried to burn herself, and was constantly trying to get away from jd, even having nightmares abt her other friends dying. i feel like not many ppl talk abt this, but hey, im always obsessed with the traumatized characters, so ofc i would talk abt it.
anyways, feel free to ask questions or just tell me to talk abt heathers more, i definitely wouldnt be opposed!
Okay your bio says you're obsessed with Heather's rn
I had a pair of friends irl rant to me about it before so I have a vague concept
Would you also like to rant to me about it
oh yes i ammm!! do u have any questions? or u just want me to talk abt it?

Could I get a fluffy and maybe flirty Childe imagine set during his story quest? Instead of the Traveler and Paimon accompanying him, the reader (who works at the Northland Bank as one of Childe’s subordinates) gets slapped with the duty of babysitting Teucer and covering for Childe and his façade as a toy seller in Liyue.
"I must say that your brother is quite cute, sir."
"...I guess it must run in the family."
"Hm? Did you say something, comrade?"
"Oh. Um. Nothing, sir."
Of course, being the perceptive man he is, Childe heard all of what they said. What he ends up doing or saying to the reader? Seeing the magic you’ve worked when anon previously gave you the liberty of it, I leave it entirely up to you. :)
featuring: childe x gn!reader
warnings: a teeny bit suggestive at the end
published: april 27 2021
form: imagine
a/n: i’m gonna be real with you, i was stuck on ar35 for the longest time because i was too cowardly to level up my world so i finally did it today and i jumped from 35 to 41 T_T and now my enemies are stupidly strong. but anyways i just started the childe quest today so im just gonna stick to the part when they’re still in liyue and there’s no fighting wwww
“teucer, i swear to celestia-” you muttered under your breath, as the little redhead slipped from your grasp yet again, running ahead to go look at some kite vendors. “come back here, kid! otherwise you’re gonna be in a heck of a lot of trouble!”
earlier in the day, you were out running errands for the bank, under tartaglia’s orders, when you had come across rumors of a ruin guard running amok. figuring you would use your spare time and save some local liyue citizens the trouble of having to deal with the feral robot, you defeated the machine with efficient ease. however, in the vicinity, you discovered a lone child showing great excitement at a deactivated ruin guard, jumping and leaping while calling it “mr. cyclops” with a strange elation.
you figured the boy was snezhnayan, what with his features and clothing reminiscent of the cold climate of your homeland. but why in the world was he out by a ruin hunter all alone? he kept mentioning his brother, a toy seller in liyue, but you could think of absolutely nobody that fit that description.
so, out of the goodness of your own heart, you decided to take the little boy-- teucer, he called himself--back to liyue harbor with you, and see if you could find this older brother of his.
however, once you arrived back in the city, your plans were quickly derailed as the little brat seemed to have the attention span of a fruit fly, and was constantly trying to weasel his way into some other dangerous situation without you knowing.
“god dammit teucer”, you huffed, trying to keep up with the child. who let children have so much energy? your age must finally be catching up to you, you thought. “how about we go back to northland bank? you might like it there” you thought taking him back to your headquarters would stall the boy for enough time for you to find someone who might know the whereabouts of teucer’s brother. there weren’t too many snezhnayans in liyue--whoever his brother is, he can’t be far.
the little boy looked up at you with his big, blue puppy eyes, but you knew his act by now. “no buts, kid. if you’re lucky, we’ll be able to track down you’re brother there.” he sighed, relenting to your orders and following you back to northland bank.
the two of you climbed up the stairwell leading to the entrance of the bank on the second floor, teucer clearly dejected and pouting like a baby. exhausted, you pushed open the doors that you were so familiar with, and ushered the child inside.
much to your surprise, you see tartaglia talking with ekaterina in the lobby. it had been quite a while since you had seen your superior in person, and the surprise certainly was not unwelcome. sometimes you couldn’t stand the man’s smug attitude, yet there was something in his rogueish charisma that you simple couldnt deny attracted you to him.
teucer also seemed to be excited by this sighting of the red-headed harbinger, the little boy’s eyes lighting up with unbridled excitement.
“brother!”
wait. was tartaglia the older brother teucer had been talking about all along?
childe turned around, distracted by teucer’s voice, and upon seeing the little boy, his eyes lit up—first with surprise, then with confusion.
“teucer? what the heck are you doing here in liyue?”
he left the fatui agent with a befuddled look upon her face, and ran towards the child. teucer jumped up into his brother’s broad arms, and they grasped each other in a tight hug, like they had not seen each other for at least an eternity.
ruffling teucer’s hair, tartaglia softened, with an expression unlike anything you had really seen him wear before. he really must care about his family, you thought to yourself.
“so you’re the older brother this little tyke has been talking nonstop about”, you teased tartaglia, elbowing him in his side. “you know, he’s thrown me for a loop this entire day. i didnt think babysitting was part of the job requirement.”
the red-head chuckled abashedly, scratching his head. “sorry about that, [y/n]. the little guy can’t seem to bear being away from his favorite big brother.”
teucer laughed. he truly looked so happy to be with tartaglia again, which made you wonder what the harbinger was like when not on the job. you had known him to be a ruthless war machine, a hedonistic killer who thrived off of the rush battle and bloodshed gave him. childe could take down a dozen men, twice his size, in a matter of minutes, hardly breaking a sweat. yet seeing him interact with teucer, almost a little mini-sized version of himself, his gentleness and care surprised you. perhaps there was more to the man than you had initially thought.
teucer finally detaching himself from tartaglia, looked up at his brother with those same puppy eyes, now full of admiration. “are you here to sell toys to the liyue children, too?”, the child asked. toys? what toys could he possibly be referring to? you and ekaterina, both, looked at childe with confusion.
tartaglia stuttered for a moment. “oh! uhh— yes! yes i am! i was just talking with the nice lady, ms. ekaterina, on how many toys we can sell to all the children in liyue!” he responded, hardly missing a beat. did teucer not know what childe’s actual occupation was?
“wow! my brother really is the coolest person ever!” teucer leaped up and down, hanging onto tartaglia’s pantlegs. looking at this young, untainted innocence, you begun to understand why childe might try and shield the child from the truth.
childe detached the excitable child from his clothing, and beckoned ekaterina over. “ms. ekaterina, would you do me the grand favor of watching teucer for the rest of the day? i’d hate to burden our friend [y/n] after they have already brought him to liyue from celestia-knows-where.” he turns to teucer, telling him “big brother ajax is going to sell many, many toys now! so you need to behave yourself when i’m gone, okay? miss ekaterina will be watching you, and she’s very nice.” he pinches his brother’s cheek, teasing him lightly, and ushering him away with the fatui agent.
it’s now just you and tartaglia in the bank, as the sun was setting and all the other employees had gone home for the day. you heaved a sigh of relief, glad to be rid of baby-sitting duty, after having to deal with teucer’s antics for several hours now.
“i’m really sorry about all of that. i had no idea he would be coming, as a stowaway, no less.” the man looked at you with genuine gratitude. “i don’t want to imagine what might’ve happened to the little brat if you hadn’t been there.”
you chuckled, not quite used to seeing such sincerity coming from the harbinger. most of the time, you had been accustomed to his charismatic facade that he puts on when he becomes childe, the eleventh and one of the most dangerous members of the fatui harbingers.
“don’t worry, it really was no problem. your brother is certainly a handful, but undeniably adorable”, you said, mindlessly gathering your belongings again as you prepared to head out again. “he takes after his older brother quite a bit, i must say.”
“come again?” childe looked behind him, eyebrow cocked.
“oh— nothing. i didnt say anything”, you muttered. shit. you really need to get better at keeping your mouth shut. you refused to be known as the insolent fool with the puppy-love crush on the goddamn eleventh fatui harbinger.
“oh? that didnt really sound like nothing, my dear [y/n].” he smirked. whenever he called you “my dear”, you knew you were in for major teasing. he was definitely having fun with this. he strode towards you innocently, with that usual swagger of his, that tinted everything he did. his walk, his talk, his appearance all oozed confidence, and it was utterly intoxicating.
tartaglia now looked at you with a glint in his eye, the same look he gave enemies before he was about to utterly obliterate them. it was frightening, yet terribly alluring, and you despised how much you fell for it.
suddenly, you felt your back hit the cold, marble wall. you hadn’t even realized that tartaglia had cornered you against a gold pillar, his mere presence forcing you to unconsciously move away from him as he approached you, calculatedly. a lump growing in your throat, you couldn’t bring yourself to even utter a single word in defense, only feeling your cheeks grow hotter and your legs grow weaker.
tartaglia leaned his arm against the pillar, dangerously close to your head, effectively propping himself up with only you between him. you were far too aware of the space—or rather, the lack thereof—separating the two of you, the man’s hot breath audible in the dead, echoing silence of the golden bank.
tartaglia smirked, bringing his face close to yours. “you flatter me greatly, [y/n].” smirking, his breath grazed against your neck, his stare burning into your flesh. the way your name sounded on his lips made your breath hitched in your throat. too hot, you felt way too hot. it was impossible for a hydro user to make you feel such unbearable heat.
“seems as if your clever words aren’t of any use to you now, hmm?” you could feel the mans lips brushing against your jaw, each touch against you leaving a stinging trail. he brought his free hand to caress your own, fingers clasping yours as if you were made of a delicate porcelain, the finest kind liyue had to offer. slowly, as if dragging out each second as long as he could, tartaglia brought your hand to his lips, and planted a long, slow kiss to the back of your palm.
your eyes widened at the sheer eroticism with which he kissed your hand—an act commonly of etiquette somehow being much more lustful, even debauched when tartaglia did it. all you could feel was where his lips met your hand, the phantom burn it left, the slight string of saliva connecting his lips to your hand as he left it, the dark gaze in his eyes as he looked back up at you, clearly aware of how vulnerable you were in his grasp.
“thank you again, my dear. i hope we can continue to work together in the future.”
a/n: jesus christ this got really horny at the end LMFAO anyways i hope you like it! its kinda long but wtv

The cold silence of the room felt like stabs at your inside. You commanded your feet to stop bouncing up and down as you unconsciously started to bite off the dead skin of your bottom lip. The white corporate light from above reflected off your brand new lanyard hanging delicately from your neck. You felt the coarse blue fabric rub against your neck as you mindlessly fiddled with your lanyard; the newly printed photo of your face stared back at you with a smile.
The creak of the door to your left was what broke you from your nervous fidgets. Whipping your head up from your lanyard, you immediately stood up ready to bow to whoever came through that door.
It was a girl. She looked around the same age as you, if not older. Her attire was what gave her away. Her appearance essentially mirrored yours: hair tied back into a ponytail with a white blouse and black work pants. She also had the familiar blue ‘JYPE’ labeled strap hanging from her neck.
“Hello,” you spoke meekly, scared to disturb the cold silence that had a hold on the room you were in.
“Hello,” she replied. “My name is Choi Na-eun, I’m the new social media strategist intern and today is my first day.”
This is so relieving, you thought, another newbie to share the stress with me.
“This is my first day too,” you perked up, “I’ll be starting as the new junior Chinese marketing assistant.”
Getting the acceptance email from JYP Entertainment was definitely a high point in your life. The feeling of butterflies swarming your insides as you clicked the email open only to see your acceptance was immediately locked as a core memory. All the years of memorizing thousands of Korean and English vocabulary flashcards, the panic attacks before your finance exams, and the many, many late night coffee breaks were worth it the moment you received your first legitimate job offer, and from the esteemed JYP Entertainment company no less.
“Chinese marketing?” Na-eun asked. “So you aren’t from here, I take it.”
You shook your head. “I am from China. I completed my degree a while ago with a major in Language and a minor in Business. To be honest, I’ve done internships back home, but it’s been my dream to move to a new country.”
All of what you said was true. Up until now, your surroundings have never changed in all of your twenty-three years living. From the walk with your grandmother to daycare to the vast campus of your university, the view of your city has never changed. Your social circle stayed stagnant since you were able to talk and your love life was — for a lack of a better word — uneventful.
It wasn’t until the day you decided to start applying for careers outside your home country that you felt hopeful. Hopeful that you could find an escape from your inert lifestyle and escape the burnout and stress that has been building up over the years. And so, on a day when you were feeling unusually confident, you gathered up the courage and spent hours sending out applications to organizations all over Asia that pertained to your specific degree. The applications were mainly for small jobs at small companies, however, your strange spike of motivation gave you the confidence to apply to the everso esteemed JYP Entertainment located in Korea. Of course you knew about this company — you and your friends played songs by ‘Twice’ nonstop back in highschool — but you didn’t realize the full power that this company had on the entertainment market until you did your full research. To say that you thought you had no chance was an understatement. This application was so far of a reach that you purposefully forced your mind to erase all memory of even applying.
However, with your education, your work experience, and whatever tiny bit of luck you had, you somehow made it through the initial application process. Then the next. And the next. Then the interview. And now, you were nervously sitting in this white painted room with Na-eun, in a completely new country, waiting for your manager to come greet you.
“So you’re from China? You’ve got to teach me chinese sometime.” Na-eun smiled.
You giggled in return while nodding your head. You were relieved that you’ve met a potential friend so early in your career in this company. This was one of your big worries. With your social circle being so stagnant for the majority of your life back in China, you rarely had the opportunity to meet new people, much less make new friends.
You were about to inquire more into Na-eun’s life when the door to your left abruptly opened. In the blink of an eye, three new people strutted in — two women and one man. They seemed to be higher status than you and Na-eun judging by their attire. All three were styled in some type of blazer and dress pants and there was no lanyard to be found on any of them.
“Hello new employees,” the man greeted. Judging by his face, he looked to be in his late thirties at the least. His hair was styled back neatly and his lips slanted up, giving him a fox-like appearance. “I am Executive Manager Kim. Joined beside me on the left is Social Media Manager An and to my right is Marketing Manager Chen.”
Both you and Na-eun immediately stood up to bow and introduce yourselves.
“Hello. My name is Choi Na-eun, I’m the new social media strategist intern.” Na-eun said.
“Hello. My name is y/n, I’m the new junior Chinese marketing assistant.” You repeated after her, copying exactly what she said. You did not want to screw anything up on your first day, especially your first impression.
Manager Kim reached over to Na-eun, introducing himself and giving her a firm handshake. He then slowly moved over to you, and reached for your hand.
“Y/n,” he gave time for your name to settle on his tongue as he gave a sly smile. “You’re not from here, aren't you?”
You shook your head ‘no’. “No, sir. I’m from China where I studied language and business. I hope to do well here as the Chinese marketing assistant.” You replied, mentally cursing yourself for sounding so timid.
“I’m glad to hear,” Manager Kim chuckled, “I’m sure you’ll treat me and your other managers well.”
You felt an uncomfortable shiver pass through you as he brushed his thumb along your hand before letting go. This feeling was excused as nervousness, after all, this was your first day and your first time meeting your higher-ups.
You introduced yourself to Manager Chen, assuming that she would be the one you were to assist in your time here at JYPE. Judging by her last name, you presumed that she was Chinese as well.
“Forgive me for being so straight up Manager Chen, but are you Chinese?” You asked.
“That is alright, y/n,” she smiled, “I’m not. My Husband is, but I’ve lived in China for more than half my life. I don’t want to brag, but my mandarin has gotten proficient over the past decade or so.”
Proficient? It’s amazing. You thought. This first day was turning out better than you thought. Other than the weird feeling you received from Manager Kim, everything was turning out splendid. A potential friend and a manager that could speak your first language.
“Since it’s about noon right now,” Manager Kim took a look at his watch, “What do you all think about some lunch?”
The other managers nod their heads in agreement and gestures for you and Na-eun to follow them out of the waiting room you were in for so long.
The whole building seemed so clean. With every corner lit, by natural light or artificial light, you could clearly see that every room, every piece of furniture and decor had been purposefully placed. You couldn’t help but have a stupid look of awe plastered on your face as you mindlessly follow your superiors over to the cafeteria.
You turned your head over to Na-eun and gave her a tilt of the eyebrow, silently saying wow, this is where we work.
With the turn of a corner and several silent strides, your little group made it to the cafeteria.
The difference between your claustrophobic waiting room and this vast room was astonishing. With countless tables and romantic yellow lighting, this place almost resembled a five star restaurant. You’ve never seen a cafeteria as extravagant and clean as this before. However, to be fair, you’ve never had the experience of working with such a large corporation before.
The managers led you to the serving station where you grabbed yourself a tray and proceeded to spoon small portions of rice and side dishes onto your plate. This cuisine was different to what you were used to, but nonetheless looked delicious. You were prepared for the small cultural differences, especially with the food, but from everything you’ve witnessed so far, the culture shock would be easier to overcome than what you’ve anticipated.
“Have this soup y/n,” Manager Kim’s grating voice came from in front of you, interrupting your inner monologue. “It’s good for your complexion.”
As Manager Kim hands over the bowl of soup, you feel the sleeve of his blazer brush up against your shoulder, causing the pit of your stomach to drop.
First day nerves. That was what this feeling was. You thought.
You quietly thanked him with a small nod and walked briskly from the service line, trying to find where Na-eun went with the other two managers. Thankfully, they were just a step away and you quickly made your way over to the comfortable spot beside Na-eun. She gave you a small grin and you both followed your way to a table right in the middle of the room.
Soon, all five chairs of the table got filled and sounds of chopsticks tapping and scraping against plates and bowls filled your ears. An awkward silence dominates your table as you start to pick at your food.
“So,” Manager Chen cleared her throat, “after lunch I was thinking we should go to a meeting room and discuss Miss. Y/n’s role in our new project.”
“I was thinking the same for our new Intern Choi.” Manager An cut in, “What do you think, Manager Kim?”
“It all sounds good. I will be accompanying Manager Chen to her meeting room as I wish to also further discuss the preliminary steps for our project.” Manager Kim looked from Manager Chen over to you.
“Project?” You ask.
“We’ve had a very successful year with our idol groups and we wanted to ride this success and start marketing in China. Recently, we’ve noticed a very large and growing Chinese audience for this group. I’m sure you’re very curious now, however we can discuss further details once we are in the meeting room.” Manager Chen replies while taking a sip of the water in her glass.
Manager Chen appeared to be a very professional and respectable woman. With prominent collarbones and wide shoulders, she easily looked the part of a confident and adored manager. She needed minimal makeup to highlight her tall cheekbones, and even with a short heel on her feet she seemed to tower over you. However, her warm and comforting voice was what broke her intimidating demeanour. Just listening to her voice felt like you were back in your high school classroom with your favourite teacher explaining the motif of a sad love poem.
After some more awkward conversations mixed with a few work discussions, the five of you finished the delicious food on your trays.
“Please excuse me whilst I head to the restroom” Na-eun spoke up after your group finished clearing the table.
“Please excuse me as well.” You quickly followed, bowing as you both ventured off to the washrooms.
I should get her number so I’m not completely a loner in this place, you thought to yourself. And so, after a quick inner struggle to speak up, you finally decided to ask.
“Hey, should we exchange contacts? I don’t wanna look like the newbie eating in the cafeteria alone after today.” You chuckled.
“Totally!” Na-eun beamed. “I was actually thinking the same thing…”
And so, you both quickly exchanged each other's contact as you made your way to the restrooms.
The hall of the washrooms were narrow, hidden away from the main cafeteria. You walked in, deciding you only wanted to retouch your hair and makeup before your first official meeting. You carefully fix the loose hairs that somehow escaped the confines of your elastic and dab on a fresh layer of foundation before applying your lipstick which rubbed off while eating. Looking over at Na-eun, you see she’s quite in the zone redoing her mascara.
“Hey, I’ll just wait for you in the hall.” You said.
Na-eun gave you a disinterested nod back as she kept focusing on her mascara.
You walked to the end of the hall, leaned against the wall, and pulled out your phone. Smiling, you opened the virtual Tamagotchi app and saw your little friend staring back at you, bouncing up and down. The bundle of virtual pixels happily bounced as you fed and bathed it, making you happier in return. Playing this game, you were so entranced with your phone that the abrupt closing of the washroom doors broke you out of your hypnosis fast, causing you to flinch and drop your phone.
You looked up, only to see a brown haired man wearing a long sleeved black shirt. The hem of his sleeve fell, covering his hand as he bent down to pick up your phone. He stood back up, fully facing you now and you immediately recognized who he was. You weren’t a fool, of course you did all your research on the artists of JYPE before applying for the job. Looking down at you right now, holding your phone in his hand, was Bang Chan of Stray Kids.
The wispy tufts of his brown hair bounced over his forehead as he stepped over to you. He smiled, his dimple poking out of his cheek, and handed your phone back to you. “I think you dropped this.”
Blushing tomato red, you embarrassingly accepted the phone, trying not to make your shaking hands noticeable. It seemed like that failed, however, as you noticed him glance at your hands and dimple grow deeper.
“Thank you.” You meekly chirped and lowered your head, still in awe that you somehow bumped into a JYPE idol in the bathroom hallway of a cafeteria.
“It’s good that there’s no cracks.” Bang Chan said, looking in your eyes.
You looked back into his eyes. His smile never left his face, and you physically felt the warmth radiating off his body like rays from the sun. Some boring, objective part of your brain knew this interaction only lasted a fraction of a second, but you swore that time froze.
“Hyung!” A distant voice called.
Your trance was broken as Bang Chan looked over to the person calling his name. He turned back to you, politely bowed, and casually sauntered over to the man who called him.
What just happened? Your inner monologue ran, still trying to process the embarrassing interaction. The scent of his cologne lingered, swirling the atmosphere around your body.
Thankfully, you didn’t have too much time to dwell on this interaction as Na-eun finally opened the washroom doors and was making her way toward you.
You and Na-eun trailed behind the managers until you reached the set of elevators. It was there where you had to unfortunately separate from your comfort work buddy as she hopped in the elevator across from yours with Manager An. The other two managers led you to the elevator at the end and pressed the button for your destination floor. The ride in the elevator was silent. You stood there, fiddling with your nails.
Once the elevator gave the ding of arrival, the three of you headed down a hall where you presumed had the meeting room.
Manager Kim took a look at the watch on his wrist. “We are a minute late, everybody should be there already. Enter silently and respectfully.” He said in a stern voice.
You reached the frosted glass door of the meeting room and entered through the already opened door. The managers followed behind you with Manager Chen being the last one in and closing the door.
Your eyes widened at whom you saw.
There was Bang Chan, who sat in all his glory, staring right into your eyes with his mouth ajar. His shocked expression didn't last long, however, as he quickly composed himself to fit with the professional atmosphere of this room.
But why was he here? You thought. He’s an artist, isn’t this a management meeting?
Your inner monologue was broken by Manager Kim’s stern voice. “Y/n, why don’t you sit with me for today?” He asked with a slight tilt of the lips. His hand was hovering above your back, almost guiding you to the seat just right of the head chair.
Your heart rate quickened. There was no way that you could handle sitting right beside a high position manager on your first day. You barely knew what your duties entailed, you definitely could not handle the pressure of this seat today. You whipped your head around to look for Manager Chen. She was already sitting in her seat, looking like she was right at home.
“Manager Kim, if you don’t mind, I would like to sit in this position for today, '' a voice spoke up, “I have a lot of new ideas I’d like to share that are written in my notes.”
Bang Chan.
He paused a brief second, eyes switching between you and Manager Kim, and raised his iPad to show the screen filled with words.
“I don’t mind at all, go ahead.” Manager Kim monotonously replied. He then made his way to the head chair.
You looked over at Bang Chan, trying to subtly send the most grateful facial expression over to him. He returned your look, slightly grinning as his fingers tapped on the screen of his iPad and sat down to the right of Manager Kim. You looked over to see Manager Chen gesturing you to sit in the chair beside her and swiftly made your way over. At your seat, she handed you a notepad and pen, both adorned with the JYPE logo.
“Now, as of 1:02 p.m., September first, the meeting will officially begin.” Manager Kim clasped his hands together on top of the table. “As most of you already know, we are in the preliminary stages of planning a Chinese debut for our artist group ‘Stray Kids’. All we have right now is the estimated timeline, which is four months. We have a basic grasp of the concept we are working towards, however, as you all know, trends are always changing and growing. While we are working to create a new and original concept for Stray Kids, we also want the concept to gather as much audience reception as possible.”
Wow. That was a lot to take in. Your hands struggled to keep up with writing down what Manager Kim was saying. You knew this relatively new group was really starting to explode in the past year, but a debut in another country? This group must work really hard to even have the company consider a step as risky as this. So this is why Bang Chan is also involved in this meeting.
You peaked your head up from your notepad. Bang Chan sat across from you, one hand on his chin and the other one holding the pen to his tablet.
Manager Kim then carefully discussed the duties that each group in the room would take. Many of the jobs were directly involved with developing the concept itself, such as producing music, concept art, and theme development. Your pen never took a break from gliding on the notepad as you hurriedly jotted down everything that Manager Kim said.
Eventually, Manager Kim’s delegations moved to Manager Chen. “Manager Chen, I’ll let you take over from here.”
“Thank you Manager Kim,” Manager Chen cleared her throat. “While my main job here was to market Korean comebacks towards the Chinese audience, this new project changes things up a bit. Now, not only will I be in charge of marketing to the Chinese audience, but I will also be directly in charge of the concept itself. I will be working carefully with our team in China to monitor the trends which we can incorporate into our debut.
“This is my new assistant, y/n,” She turned and gestured to you. You politely nodded your head. “She will be gathering information on useful trends and reporting back to me, as well as some translating. Please report any ideas that you deem useful to her by the end of every week for her to sort through and deliver to me.”
You almost want to call Manager Chen crazy for giving you so much power, after all, you were only starting out as her assistant. Despite this, however, you were determined to go above and beyond with the new responsibilities given to you, after all, you knew that choosing to work in an organization as big as JYPE would take blood, sweat, and tears.
After some clarifications given by Manager Chen and a few more questions directed at her, Manager Kim took the reins back in his hands.
“Now, as I’m sure you all know, this is Bang Chan: the leader of Stray Kids. Although our management team is in charge of this debut, we like to include the opinions of artists whenever possible. He will make an appearance whenever he can and act as a representative of Stray Kids, sharing their ideas and opinions.” Manager Kim explained.
Bang Chan politely introduced himself, and quickly went on to express some concerns of his members. He made sure that each concern was answered thoroughly by Manager Kim before moving on to the next.
“As for our concept ideas,” Bang Chan’s soft brown eyes met yours, “will I have to report to y/n?”
You felt your ears redden.
“You could, yes,” Manager Kim straightened his back, “but if you find the weekly deadlines too much of a problem, you may just report to me or at any subsequent meeting.”
“No worries sir,” Bang Chan’s eyes lingered on yours for a fraction of a second more before grinning at Manager Kim, “I’m always punctual.”
The rest of the meeting consisted of more introductions and preliminary plans. After about an hour, everybody seemed satisfied with the contents of the meeting and were starting to pack up all their clutter on the table. You looked over at Manager Chen, silently asking what should I do next?
Manager Chen smiled. “Let's head to my floor. I can give you a quick tour, you can get settled at your desk. I have some paperwork that I’m almost done with; I’m sure you’ll have no problem finishing it for me.” She already was standing up and straightening over the creases of her jacket.
You stood up as well and followed behind Manager Chen like a lost baby duckling. You both made your way over to Manager Kim to bid farewell. You politely thanked him, said your goodbyes, and were about to leave when he stopped the two of you.
“Manager Chen, let’s go out for drinks tonight.” Manager Kim took a look at the intricate watch on his wrist. “With our whole team, of course. It’ll be a welcoming night and we can get to know the people on our team better.”
“That’s a great idea, Manager Kim,” Manager Chen nodded at his idea in approval. She turned on her iPad to quickly get a glimpse at her schedule. “What do you think y/n? Can you make it tonight? I know this is very last moment, but I think it’ll be a great opportunity for you to get to know your coworkers better.”
“I should be able to make it.” You definitely could make it. You had no plans anyways.
“Am I invited to this top secret party you’re all having?” A now very distinguishable voice came from behind you. Bang Chan stared at Manager Kim with a very mischievous expression.
“Would your manager allow it?” Manager Kim questioned, knitting his eyebrows.
“I’m on a diet, so I can’t drink alcohol or eat anything,” Bang Chan’s nose scrunched up in annoyance, “but I want to be as involved as I can. Just because I’m an idol doesn’t mean I can’t help behind the scenes as well.”
“Very well,” Manager Kim nodded with a fixed expression, “Let’s all meet at that restaurant about a block away west. I’ll go tell the others.” And with that, Manager Kim left you, Manager Chen, and Bang Chan to stand in awkward silence.
“Well,” Bang Chan cleared his throat and clapped his hands together, “I’ll get going as well to do some work now, but it was nice meeting the both of you.”
“You as well.” Manager Chen replied for the both of you and Bang Chan left soon after.
Manager Chen then led you to the elevators again and you headed up yet another few floors to reach your destination. You nervously fiddled with your hair as you silently waited behind your boss, looking up at the smooth lines of her blazer every few seconds. The elevator doors dinged, letting you know of its arrival. The two of you swiftly headed out the elevators and walked to what you presumed was Manager Chen’s office area. You kept following behind Manager Chen in silence before you stopped in front of a set of doors that looked identical to the ones at the previous meeting room. Manager Chen opened the doors for you, and you headed in.
You paused a step in, looking wide-eyed at the interior. The office was clean. A big glass desk sat right in the middle of the vast room in front of a huge set of windows. There were a couple of soft looking chairs placed right before the desk with a huge rug right underneath it. Over to your left, you spotted a water dispenser with a kettle right beside it. You stared at the room a bit longer before realizing you must have looked very stupid with that astonished look on your face.
“Is this your office, Manager Chen?” You asked.
“Yes. It seems that you like it,” She chuckled. You felt the heat rise to your ears.
“Since you’ll be working so close to me, I’m sure you’ll be happy to come here more often.”
“Thanks.” You awkwardly laughed. You blamed your bad response on the fact that you still weren’t familiar with the language, not your blatant awkwardness.
Manager Chen made her way over to her desk, picking up a small stack of papers. “These are some letters I’ve received from several designer companies in China. Since we are still in the very preliminary stages of this project, we would like to keep our options open for the stylists here.” She picks an annotated letter from the pile. “I’ve translated and created a summary of the main points of this letter. There are a few more left which I believe I can trust you with. Just do as I did with this letter and add the sample pictures along with it.”
You quickly complied, taking the stack of papers from her hands.
“I’ll show you to your new work space.” She led you out of your office and over to a cubicle that wasn’t too far away. It was considerably smaller compared to Manager Chen’s office, but you thought it had a certain coziness to it. Plus, working close to your coworkers could also boost your motivation. “Here is your desk, it’s not the most exciting thing, but you may bring photos or whatnot to decorate it. Now, I’ll let you settle in and get started on your work. You can meet me at my office around six, I can double check your work before we leave.”
You thanked her before she left and immediately got started on your work. You diligently translated the whole of the letters before picking out the main points that matched with Manager Chen’s example. After this was done, you included the photos that came with each letter and slipped them into their own cozy folder. This work was monotonous, sure, but it was something you needed on your hectic first day here.
You were so captivated by your work that you completely forgot about the time. The sun was starting to set, and you only remembered to look at the time after you tucked your last letter neatly in its folder. You briefly panicked, praying that you weren’t making your manager wait. Thankfully, it was only a quarter until six. You took the next fifteen minutes double checking your work, making sure to also check the time every once in a while. At exactly six, you left your desk and scurried over to the big doors of Manager Chen’s office.
Knocking a couple times, you waited patiently to be let in.
“Come in.”
You let yourself in, handing the papers to your manager, then sat quietly in one of the chairs before her desk, crossing your fingers together. You fiddled with your thumbs, patiently waiting for Manager Chen to speak up.
“Not bad, this is some decent work.” Manager Chen announced as soon as she finished glossing over your work. “I’ve noted some places that you can either fix or improve. I’ll scan them and hand you a copy tomorrow.”
You let out a breath that you didn’t know you were holding. A tidal wave of relief washed over you as you let yourself relax further into your chain. Not bad, this is some decent work. You proudly repeated this moment in your brain. Although you were disappointed with the mistakes that you let slip through, to get somewhat of a compliment on your first day meant a lot to you.
“Shall we get going now?” Manager Chen asked.
You grabbed your bag and stood up. “I’ll let you lead the way.”
_______
It seemed like all you were doing on your first day was following Manager Chen around like a lost puppy. The situation right now was no exception either, as you tried to copy her confident strides over to the restaurant a block down. You watched the busy rush hour streets and sidewalks fill with people, some people going home after a long day, some people going to party just like you.
Soon, after a few more minutes of walking, the both of you arrived at the small wooden doors of the restaurants. It seemed like the both of you were a bit late as Manager Kim was already waiting in front of the entrance with the rest of the team. Bang Chan was also there, head down looking at his phone.
“Sorry we’re late, have you been waiting for long?” Manager Chen somehow sounded confident despite making everybody wait on her.
Her voice seemed to have caught everybody’s attention. You watched as Bang Chan swiftly turned his head up from his phone, his eyes making contact with yours. You immediately focused your eyes somewhere else, trying to casually play off the fact that your eyes subconsciously drifted to him.
“We’ve only been waiting for a couple minutes.” Manager Kim gave a tight smile. “Let’s go in before you all get too cold.”
Your little group of around ten people slowly entered the doors, filling the restaurant. Manager Kim called over a waitress, signaling that you had ten people in your group, and let the waitress lead you all to a long wooden table.
The restaurant was nice, nothing too fancy, but that’s how you could tell the food was good. With dim lighting and tightly packed tables, it made you feel fuzzy and warm on the inside.
However, your thoughts on the restaurant were soon broken by a hand on your shoulder.
“Y/n, why don’t you sit with me?” Manager Kim’s lips curled up, “After all, this is a work gathering, how good of a boss would I be if I didn’t even treat my newest team member to a drink?”
Your brain was in shambles. You seriously didn’t feel comfortable sitting with him all night. However, the logical side of your brain was saying something different. He’s just being nice as a boss. You don’t know how people in this country act anyways, stop being paranoid.
It seemed like your inner turmoil was taking longer than necessary, as you heard another familiar voice speak up.
“Manager Kim-” Bang Chan called out.
“You don’t need to sit with me here, Bang Chan.” Manager Kim chuckled as he stared directly in Bang Chan’s eyes. “I’d rather not talk about work outside the office.”
You watched as Bang Chan’s eyebrows furrowed, looking back to you in reluctance. You smiled at him before turning your attention to Manager Kim. It was just one night, right? Plus, there’s no harm in establishing a good impression with your boss.
“I’ll sit with you, Manager Kim.” You smiled, “thanks for offering.”
And so, you took your seat next to Manager Kim at the table. Bang Chan, who was to your left, looked askance at Manager Kim for a brief second before his facial expression did a complete 180. His familiar, boy-ish smile was plastered on his face like it was the most natural thing.
When the menus came, everybody at the table — including you — started to order onslaughts of food and alcohol. After brief moments of casual chatter about topics such as the weather or how good the food was here, everything that was ordered arrived at your table.
You grabbed a can of beer and started sipping on it. You’ve drank before — of course — with your old friends at university, but it’s been at least a year since you last did. Better ease myself in. You thought.
However, your preconceived plans were ruined when a small glass of clear liquor got pushed in front of you.
“Y/n, surely you aren’t going to sip on that can all night.” The ends of Manager Kim’s lips curled up.
“Wasn’t planning to, sir.” You replied while tipping the glass up and into your mouth. The bitter liquid burned your throat as it went down. You took a moment to recollect your surroundings. Seems like your tolerance was higher than you thought.
“Bang Chan, do you not drink? Why not eat something then?” Manager Chen pointed to the food on the table.
“No can do ma’am, I’m on a strict diet. My manager would kill me.” Bang Chan pointed to his glass of water.
“In that case,” Manager Chen filled another glass, “Y/n, have another drink.” She slid the glass down the table in front of you.
You gladly accepted your second drink, downing the alcohol in one go. Your eyes instinctively squeezed together as you felt your throat burn. From the tips of your ears to the ends of your toes, your whole body felt warm and alive.
You lost track of the time. As your conversations got livelier, your head got fuzzier. You stopped counting your drinks after four, especially since so many people were eager to offer the new employee a drink. Although your vision was starting to blur, you could still think straight. I can still think, you thought to yourself, still — what a powerful buzz.
Your thoughts ran rampant in your mind as you stared at the lightbulb across the room. What a pretty light. So bright. Warm.
“Y/n.”
Was the light calling your name?
“Y/n!”
Your eyes focused again and snapped away from the lightbulb. Where was the voice coming from? You slowly turned your head. Bang Chan.
“Hi.” You smiled.
“Hi.” He smiled back. So bright. Warm. “It’s been hours and I haven’t even offered you a drink yet.”
You tried to focus your eyes on his face as he slid the glass over to you. One more drink wouldn’t hurt your buzz, right?
You gladly accepted, slowly moving your hand over to the glass to pick the clear liquid up. It went down in one go just like all the others.
Huh? Was this water?
You struggled to focus your eyes on the person who offered you the drink. “That was yummy.”
“I bet it was,” the talking blur chuckled, “How about another one?”
You nodded, then took the glass he slid towards you. It’s funny how water flows even when in a cup. Water. You needed to pee.
“Hey,” your words dragged out, “where’s uh, where’s the washroom?”
“Follow me. I’ll show you.” Manager Kim stood up and reached his hand out towards you. You didn’t want to take it, but it seemed like nobody was noticing his offer.
Reluctantly, you took his hand and stood up, only to stumble down again. Did your knees not want to listen?
“Whoa there, better hold on.” Manager Kim said.
“No, I can walk. I-I can walk.” You let go of Manager Kim and tried to focus all your brainpower on moving your feet in a straight line. This tactic only worked for a second, however, as your knees gave in and you stumbled down.
“It’s obvious that you can’t.” Manager Kim’s lips turned up. “It’s time for you to go home. I’ll take you back.”
What? No. You didn’t want Manager Kim to take you home, not after all the awkward events of today and the general vibe from him. You tried to express your thoughts, but nothing came out of your mouth.
“Manager Kim, you’ve been drinking!” Bang Chan’s voice came from some part of the room. “It’s not safe to drive, I’ll call a taxi for you.”
“What about Y/n here? I’ll get a taxi for us both.” Manager Kim said.
“I called my manager earlier to pick me up, we can drop her off along the way. It’s not a good idea to put two drunk people in a car. I’m completely sober right now, so let me do all the work.” Bang Chan grinned, patting Manager Kim on his shoulder.
“Is that what you want, Y/n?” Manager Kim glared.
You dizzily nodded.
“Alright. In that case, I can call my own taxi later.” Manager Kim grimaced.
“Stay safe, Manager Kim.” Bang Chan smiled. He turned to you. “My manager’s been waiting outside for a while now, do you want to leave now?”
You nodded. You tried to start walking again, but your damn knees just wouldn’t listen.
“Do you want to hold on to me?” Bang Chan knitted his brows together and held out an arm.
“I,” you slurred, “can walk.” You tried to start your feet again, only to end up stumbling down.
“I know you can,” Bang Chan said as he reached his hands out to stabilize you, “but — ah — I’m really tired after today. Can you hold on to my arm so I won’t fall out of exhaustion?”
You agreed to help him. Bang Chan waved to everybody still at the table before leading the two of you out to a black SUV. He allowed you to stumble your way in the back seats first before sliding in himself. He asked you for your address, which took many tries for you to accurately type it into his phone.
You leaned your head against the window, staring at passing blurred lights as Bang Chan’s manager started driving. Just being away from the loud and bright environment seemed to have cleared your head a little, but the pounding would not stop. You cursed yourself for being so irresponsible on your first day, especially because you were still alone in this new country.
“Hey,” you felt a gentle tap on your shoulder, “want some water?” You looked over to see Bang Chan holding out a plastic bottle with the lid screwed off.
You languidly reached your hand out for the bottle and gulped down as much water as you could in one breath before handing it back to him. The street lights started getting blurrier as you tried to fight exhaustion, the muscles in your eyelids starting to get more and more uncontrollable.
“Y/n.”
“Hmm?”
“Don’t fall asleep yet, we’re almost there. Ten more minutes.”
You couldn’t hear anything after that, however, as you felt your eyes give up on you and your body fall into a deep sleep.
“Y/n… Y/n.” A familiar voice called.
You fluttered your eyes open, your head pounding. Not knowing where you were, you surveyed your surroundings in a panic. It seemed as though you were in the back of a car… Parked outside of your apartment building?
“Hey, you’re finally awake.” Bang Chan’s voice entered your ear. It all came rushing back to you; the restaurant, the drinking, entering the SUV.
“How long have we been parked here?” Your groggy voice sounded inhuman. You had to clear your throat a couple times.
“It’s only been twenty or so minutes. I’m not allowed to leave the car, are you able to get home alone? I can ask my manager to go with you.” Bang Chan scratched the back of his neck.
“I should be fine.” You mumbled, a bit embarrassed to have fallen asleep in the car of a person you just met that day. This wasn’t even his car, it was his manager’s.
“Hey… can I put my number in your phone?” Bang Chan avoided your eyes. “Just so you can tell me when you get home.” He quickly added.
“Okay.” You awkwardly handed him your phone with your contacts already opened. He quickly typed his phone number in before handing it back to you.
“Text me when you get home. Remember to lock your door, okay?”
You thank both him and his manager before hurrying back to your apartment. Your head was still pounding unrelentlessly as you pressed the elevator button for your floor. The events of today were still unprocessed in your brain. You met a potential friend, which was a highlight. However, you also met two higher up managers and an actual idol, only to get hilariously drunk in the presence of. At least it’ll make a good story to tell my mom. You thought.
In no time, you made it in your apartment and locked the door behind you, remembering what Bang Chan told you in the car. You texted the new number in your phone.
Y/n: Hi. It’s y/n. I just entered my apartment.
Not even a minute later, your phone lit up, signaling a new text message.
Bang Chan: great!! remember to lock the doooor hahaha ( ◕ω◕✿ )
You subconsciously grin at your phone. Cute. Throwing your phone haphazardly on your bed, you begrudgingly began your night routine. After washing up and throwing on a random shirt from your closet, you fell on your bed ready to sleep. You were about to close your eyes when your phone lit up again with a ding. It was another text.
Bang Chan: Hey… Just so you know, if you ever feel unsafe around the office just tell me okay? I’ll always try to help you in whatever way I can.
