If PJ has no fans then presume I am gone from this world
There is untapped Nightmare Time episode potential that lies in a Marty & Doc-esque mentorship between this nerdy prude and Hatchetfield College's kooky biology professor. She's chosen for a summer internship and the results are apocalypse-inducing. But hey if they manage to save the town then it'll make for one hell of a college essay

hey guys dont think about how Max saying "the skeleton was really special" was probably the first and only compliment Ruth ever got on her acting and how it probably at least in part gave her the confidence to practice the monologue and how Maxs boos must have hurt so much more from the one person who had enjoyed her theatrical side. Don't think about that
#i couldnt stop thinking about this post on my rewatch#in max's one genuine moment he compliments ruth#and then barely interacts with her as he kills her#it's not even a conversation#but opening up with the booing is so upsetting. when ruth did a little bow thing and was clearly so happy with the original compliment#no matter where it came from#i just. auagh ruth makes me so sad and richies the only one who even seems to care about ruth and richies deaths.....#this story makes me SO SAD its so good anyway#nerdy prudes must die

Tinky doesn't always get to win
Consider this the part 1 origin of my Unstuck AU wherein Ted is saved from a life of torment within the bastard box. Hoping when I have the energy I can release the part 2 that happens in btwn Hidgens experiments and the phone call (heavily featuring our favorite red-haired witch)
This is what Ted is seeing/feeling in the last panel. Btw.

How to make jianzhan建盏 by shanbai山白
Jian Zhan (建盏), or "Jian Tea Bowl," is a unique type of ancient Chinese ceramic from the Song Dynasty (10th–13th century). Famous for its glossy black glaze and "oil spot" or "hare’s fur" patterns, it was prized for enhancing tea flavors. Fired at extreme temperatures in Fujian’s kilns, these bowls reflect China’s tea culture zenith.

this is your reminder that steph is just as much of a dork as the rest of the nerds, she’s just better at masking it
#i love herrrrr#nerdy prudes must die#i wish i had more additions but ive only watched this show twice in three days and that is not enough to form deep character analysis#but i love steph dearly and rly want to get a good grasp on her character.....

ruth's death feels especially heartbreaking because max barely even talks to her at all. it feels like she's incidental. neither her nor richie deserved their deaths but at least richie got to speak up...

i am absolutely obsessed with how often steph and pete share lines and choreography in group numbers!! it's so sweet to me how they tend to have similar sentiments, especially in songs like bully the bully and bury the bully. they both sing "can't we say he slipped" and when steph is shoved across stage pete reaches out to grab her. they're just so delightfully in sync before they even really know each other <3

Sorry if I'm mixing you up with someone else, but you've worked security before, right?
If you're willing, I'd be really interested on your thoughts on the murderbot diaries or murderbot as a character with that in mind?
Like did you recognise aspects of your job in murderbots descriptions of security work? Or did they like throw you out of immersion in the story?
Anyway thanks and hope you're having a good day/evening wherever you are!
As a security guard who has read the first two Murderbot books, Murderbot has been the number one most realistic security specialist character I have ever seen in media so far 😭
The third most annoying thing in security in my experience is handling threats. The second most annoying thing is having no threats to handle and being bored. The number one most annoying thing is the client being an idiot
Ihave social anxiety which I am medicated for. When I am in uniform with clear instructions, that anxiety is zero. I have a script and a set of rules and that makes life easy. I’m super good at performing tasks with clear expectations and that’s kinda how I keep getting good offers, it’s super straightforward
Bad clients are clients who give stupid, inefficient, counterproductive, cruel, or flat-out illegal orders. There are ways of shutting that shit down without them losing heir shit, but it’s still a pain in the ass every time
I’m a security specialist. I specialize in security. This is what I am trained for- handling crisis situations and minimizing harm. If you, an off-shift cashier at pet smart, see me deescalating a situation and decide you’re gonna drop your untrained uninformed ass in there with zero context or skills and “help” because I look small and helpless, then all you’re doing is increasing my likelihood of getting hurt while increasing my paperwork load by like two hours, and I’m gonna hate you the entire time. What you have essentially done is promoted me to meat shield while giving the aggressor I’m calming down an obnoxious and aggravating hostage. Good god please do not
Yes, I am sometimes asked to stand perfectly still in a corner for several hours like a mannequin. What do I do to avoid going insane? Think about Star Trek and the very good fanfiction I’ll be reading on my break, mostly
Yes I can assist in evacuating tw location in the event of an environmental disaster. No I cannot tell my waiter that they put cilantro on the wrong order. Yes this makes perfect sense
I love Murderbot. I love how realistic it is. Like obviously I can’t speak for everyone in the industry but yeah I’ve worked for absolute dogshit security companies in the past and yeah a lot of the books so far are super accurate to that experience so A+ so far, honestly

oh i never know how to explain this properly but i looooooooooooooooove when a story just absolutely TELLS you something and it’s so obvious it goes right by you. like the equivalent of hiding in plain sight. i’m thinking in the original cut(?) of alien where they showed the full xenomorph, crouched and ready to pounce, but because we’ve never seen it before, we can’t tell what it is and interpret it as part of the spaceship. or it’s a detail that seems so out of place or wildly insane that you automatically ignore it and assume you misinterpreted until that exact detail comes back in a big way? (like when noah the raven boy flat out tells everyone he’s a ghost and they take it as a joke, so the reader does too) is there a tvtropes name for this i’m obsessed with it
