Hello guuysss sorry for not being here 4 awhile. Here's some updates on my life!

I'm finally a high school senior!! (its summer rn, my last day was may 24)

Also, I'm 17 now!!!!

HI ANON!!!! mako has been in my brain so much for the past few months; i just restrain myself from posting seven times a day and instead, i aggressively brainrot in my discord server with a single person in it. (it's me — i'm the single person)

i've been juggling a couple fics for ao3 on him lately (account, mostly atla writing), though tragically i've been at a bit of a writing block. it's probably from overthinking story structures, but trust that i'll get at least a couple of them out eventually haha. the main one is a post-canon fic called rose beds and gasoline veins at 11.9k as of now, followed by a silly 10-chapter 14-year-old-avatar!mako au called snowglobes don't shake on their own which i've spent some time casually outlining (featuring jinora and asami!). there's a post i spontaneously conjured up that would roughly act as half of the first chapter. i'll post the summary if you're curious lol

i've also got a couple random/short oneshots that i spontaneously wrote and completed, before promptly forgetting that i can post them, so… maybe i'll do that soon. one of them is a slightly different take on mako & bolin's family in ba sing se, on some of their cultural differences and traumas through hot pot (which i might expand into a longer oneshot on ao3 after i finish rose beds). the other one was initially a joke about him (who i like to hc as aro lol) accidentally being a really big fan of sex. it's very vague but it turned out kind of angsty in exploring how mako deliberately gives up control in an attempt to frame himself as his mother rather than the man who killed her (coping fr); it's not really up my usual alley, but i might post it somewhere sometime idk. i didn't ever really flesh it out in my head but i have some inklings for a mako & kai oneshot on forgiving yourself as a kid, a mako & lin beifong oneshot on his recruitment featuring better characterization than that spontaneous shitpost i made, and a half-written expansion of jobs in an actually comprehensible story-ish format focused more on pre-canon backstory of him and bolin. also, last night i kind of accidentally started an essay arguing the case of reading mako as "this is a male female character somehow", but that's a whole other brainrot. my friends think i'm insane for wanting to write an essay for fun :P

It also has a slightly more serious ring, which I love since for some reason I’ve always gotten the feeling that he took his adventure pretty seriously for the most part. Like yeah he had his silly moments but I felt like by default he was pretty responsible XD. Honestly tho I can’t even offer much reasons for why I think that it’s just vibes… and it is fitting that Tetra is Tetra; she’d like it that way lol (also the name Amberine is very interesting :o)

Engineer is simple and sweet and I love it! And Phantasma sounds so coolll!!!

alsooo Paladin I love that it has both historic references (which I just looked up lol) and is used in modern times and both definitions FIT!!! Like the original use of paladin was for any of 12 knights who were in attendance to Charlemagne and Link is Zelda’s knight and off the modern version fits perfectly to I LOVE IT!!!

and Valkyrie is so good like in Norse mythology they took the souls of the slain to Valhalla (once again I used the internet to make sure I was right my mind is like a bowl of soup with holes in it XD) and with Zelda’s connection to war as she watches so many soldiers die of course she’d pray for them and her intercession would be powerful given her lineage and role!! And then of course a Valkyrie is also a really powerful female warrior! And Zelda is definitely that too!!

Au buddy cop series with jain zar and asurmen. I did like their interactions in her book, such as exploring space looking for eldar life and watching the stars and chilling from their shitty little ship (whos ai kept being rude to asurmen lol)

But, seriously, I would love just a story about Asurmen and Jain Zar wandering. I think the post-Fall Aeldari Dominion Core Worlds are a fascinating place to see, the boundaries between the real and unreal have been unmade, the technology of the Aeldari still remains though, scattered survivours, arcane lore, the last remnants of deities, Slaanesh and their Daemons first beginning to move through the mortal world and, through it all, Jain Zar and Asurmen, together, trusting each other, having each other’s back, fighting against things that don’t stay dead whilst, at the same time, confronting the metaphysical horror in their souls.

You know what that sounds like? DARK SOULS.

A lost, shattered, land where time no longer flows as it should, the last dying embers of dead deities against an encroaching, insatiable, darkness that causes Aeldari to become rampant, mindless killing beasts.

Literally you could do a story about Asurmen and Jain Zar seeking to keep the fire (in this case Khaine’s) kindled, as they traverse the ‘Dreg Heap’ of the womb of destruction and it’d be so coolll!

I’m by nature pretty rigid and perfectionistic so I can never get myself to deviate from what is already established when it comes to other people’s creations… This is why I have so few ideas for that Zelda concept we’re working on actually; I know so little about the details of the games that I’m scared to make any decisions about them! Graffiti is just the best name and it’s funny cause when I first saw it i was like “whattt” but then I saw your reasons for it and it is my favorite thing EVER.

and also I literally had like an obsession with icons for a while in my early teens and it is so nice to see them referenced!! I love the religious connection so muchhh! Sadly I was never too much into the symbolism side of iconography as a kid but i know there is a lot involved and that could be ✨useful✨ perhaps, who knows XD

I think Albw is the one where Zelda goes and looks at a painting of the princess and hero of the past in the middle of the night, right? It feels like image and perception could be a big theme of that game? (beyond people getting turned into paintings lol.) Like in link’s eyes, Hilda seeming good and Ravio seeming useless? And Zelda imagining a picture perfect future with link?

And also the contrast between an icon and graffiti on a wall is so big. Reflecting the way that perhaps them being together would not be acceptable? Or how Link sees Zelda as unattainable or perfect? Idk lol; I guess there’s a lot of zelink angst potential there!

Ohhh and I love Genesis so much. The name is so beautiful and perfect and I love it it also makes me feel like link is young and innocent. Like Adam and Eve at the very beginning of the Bible perhaps, and perhaps getting scarred and undergoing his own sort of fall as he descends into darkness to fight his battles. I have no clue what your backstory is for the character tho so that might not work XD.

As for the name Dawn, perhaps she is Link’s Dawn, his light in the darkness. Goodness that is a beautiful image and also zelink :D

As for the name Somnia, it made me laugh out loud… the first thing I thought of was insomnia and I suppose the opposite would be narcolepsy but in the moment my brain said the opposite was somnia and it was perfect-

ok but imagine after sleeping so long she either is like extremely low energy because she got so few nutrients, ravenous like a bear after hibernation (I’m thinking like my mom when she’s pregnant and craving infinite shortbread lol), or so full of pent up energy that she basically has adhd… I feel like, magic or not, that had to have some effects XD
