#IM SORRY. ITS JUST. IM SO. HHHHHRGN #its fine. its good. its entertaining to say the least #but from a writing perspective......#im not an anti i am the worlds biggest helluva boss enjoyer the hellaverse is SO SPECIAL TO ME #but.. the more i see about hazbin s1......#how in over four years was this what you came up with. how is the pacing this insane. how is this character treatment ok.... PLEASE #my sorta toxic trait is that as someone obsessed with media analysis; narrative devices; and story structure -#as well as just. someone who is an aspiring showrunner/creator working on my own huge projects -#is that every time i come across a movie or show that i think is done in a really lacking way. all i can think about is how i would #have done it instead #(this happens in a non-critical way too tbf if i really enjoy a book or game i'll be like they should let me make a based on film)#but hazbin. hazbin. all i have right now is 'i could fix her' in my head #I WOULD TREAT THESE CHARACTERS RIGHT I WOULD GIVE THEM THE NARRATIVE THEY DESERVE #there is. so much potential here. how is the execution so lacking #mine #good ideas!!!! good moments!!!!!!!! well basically like raise your hand if you’ve ever been blocked by a close mutual you though you were actually friends with and not just fandom-mates because you expressed an emotion they didn’t like because apparently they only want to interact with people who watch the same media as them and when you didn’t anymore they stopped talking to you and the media you DID have in common they gave up on once they found something more popular and seeing as that thing happened to be your favorite thing you graciously let them have because you believed you were friends and they would treat it with care and love but they didn’t and it made you feel like they didn’t respect you or like you or think of you as a person but rather as a faceless entity who sometimes could make Posts about tv shows you have in common. despite the fact they know what your face looks like because they’ve seen it because you’ve gotten together on zoom and watched movies together like friends do but that doesn’t mean anything i guess if you try to delicately have a conversation about how you feel because they just immediately dismiss you and start talking to you like you’re coworkers in a polite email chain because you said you didn’t like their tv show. which was a fact they already knew but didn’t take seriously because they were apparently never viewing you as a person! or has that only happened to me.

Aziraphale and Crowley were wrong in their choices.

Aziraphale thinks he needs to choose Heaven so he can “make things right.” just like when he talked to Metatron in season 1 instead of running away with Crowley.

Crowley thinks they should ignore all the problems and run away together just like he did in season 1.

these decisions are both wrong. but they’re both too stubborn to think any other way. at least for now.

#i finished binging the she-ra show #and it was fine? this is what people are so angry about?#i think catra's redemption was well setup and made sense #and while i still like the catra adora romance i wish there was like... more of it #here are some gripes i have tho #1) glimmer's decision at the end of s4 feels like it has no consequences #like for starters i'm annoyed that the issue ended being incredibly black or white and it zapped out the nuance of the respective decisions #but she's like alright i was completely wrong and after bow forgives her it's like... ok surely more people would have Opinions about this?#but no they don't. missed opportunity #but the problem in shows like these (idk if it's different outside western animation) is that there's no budget to deal with--#--cities and kingdoms having people. which makes them feel like shells that have little substance beyond being a narrative device #and yes everything in a show/piece of media IS a narrative device but you know. you gotta hide that. that's the beauty of media #but like... there's a universe where glimmer's subjects saw the consequences of her actions and rose against her. that woulda been fun!#2) adora's conflict in the finale of ohhh i have to Fulfill my Destiny(TM) comes so out of nowhere. esp when she had been against the--#--whole destiny angle for the previous four seasons. suddenly she's burdened with it and it's clear that it's a way to isolate adora #but it's SO sloppily done and there's no buildup to it #and 3) woulda like if they did more with the first ones. there's a lot of potential there and maybe a more natural way of isolate adora #like have her have this crisis of 'there's no one here who can fully understand me' and i thought that was what they'd do with the--#--cat creature they introduce in S5? but just ends up being catra's magic animal sidekick #idk there was a lot there to investigate. bow's dad could've been a good resource to make that happen too #uhhh that's it mostly?#at the end of the day this kind of western animated shows feel so pandering to kids. very formulaic and simple #tho i do respect that the show followed through the worst outcome in almost every occasion #(that's why catra compells me.... talk about a character who makes the worst decision at every point. she's just like me fr fr)#but yeah it was cute #i also like how bisexual the show felt at all times (except the ending where they were like ok monogamy is the goal but eh)#cute show. fun characters. easy 7/10 #catradora good #not great but eh #no show can give me compelling couples to obsess over (except for skam españa i guess)

#i think yall who like linebeck like that might get a kick out of kotetsu #linebeck #if you do watch tiger and bunny understand that you do not watch it for the plot ok #you watch it for the ‘plot’ (good character stuff generally interesting mini plots and the queer stuff)#also- maybe check out the movie after watching season. 1 cuz it properly introduces a guy that just shows up in season 2 #theres also some special that adds some stuff between some early chapters its not incredible important #but i think its the only place where you can find (in the source material) what one (main.) characters ability actually is #also watch with subs there is one character whose whole thing is that hes rlly quiet and i think its fine if you miss what he says but stil #also season two first half there are bits after the credits they add a tiny bit if context for some characters who show up later #tiger and bunny is good but really not flawless. have fun #the cgi is rlly good imo i barely care abt if it melds with the 2d it looks fucking good #anyways its not 1:1 ofc but i do think linebeck fans should give t&b a try. join me #i have to rewatch t&b but i need to watch kaiba first and im taking a break bc i finished monster and ough #salty talks

ok my final “will izzy hands die” thoughts before thursday is that i personally think it would be kinda fucked up to kill him when they made such a big deal out of him surviving his suicide attempt 😭 like the scar is front and center so no one can forget it. i don’t understand why they would do that if they were planning on killing him
