#i also like how bisexual the show felt at all times (except the ending where they were like ok monogamy is the goal but eh)

ugh this is horrible news tommy is still around, hope to god he's gone in the finale. v
Maybe in your world Nonnie, but not in mine and I'm not entirely sure why you felt the need to come and complain about it on my blog, but here we are!
It makes perfect Narrative sense for Tommy to still be around in the back end of the season, and even possibly into the start of season 8. The show is telling a story of Bucks bisexuality, so why woould they get rid of Tommy so quickly? To do so would do a disservice to that story - a massive disservice. I'm guessing you're hating on this relationship becasue you see it getting in the way of Buddie, rather than viewing it as a vital step on the route to Buddie.
Lets put it into simple terms - Buck figures out he's bi and then begins to explore that newly discovered aspect of himself. The show has also taken the time to move Buck from someone who didn't really do relationships (of the long term variety), into someone who is looking for love and looking for forever. But in amongst all of that, he hasn't really had a healthy long term relationship, the closest he had to that was with Ali and that one didn't last especially long and she wasn't around for most of it
Buck isn't ready for an endgame queer relationship right now - he is still to immature from a relationship perspective - especially a queer relationship perspective. If Eddie was available and he and Buck got together - as they are as characters right now, they wouldn't last - they're not in a position to do so successfully. And this isn't me suggesting that they need to have figured everything out before they get together - to have fully healed etc, because thats neither realistic or something I would want to see - what it means is that they both need to get to a point where they are in a healthy enough place to put in the work together, understand each others flaws, and their own flaws and proactively work towards overcoming those things together and as of right now, neither of them are - they are getting their and moving rapidly in the right direction, but Buck needs to learn a bit more, and in many ways learn how to be with a man, before he will be ready to start anything with Eddie.
The growth we're getting to watch Buck go through right now - in the aftermath of the lightening strike, his reckoning with his mortality etc and the fact he's now off the hamster wheel and moving forward - in a healthy and faster way than we've ever seen from him, speaks volumes.
Tommy is also a far better developed love interest than any other love interest we've seen Buck (or indeed Eddie) with (Abby excepted but she was a main, so had her own purpose on the show)- I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling like I know Tommy more after 3 episodes plus what we got from the begins episodes he was in, than I managed to ascertain about Taylor or Ana or Nataila etc!
Not to mention, him figuring out he's in Love with Eddie as part of this process is going to be fun to watch. The show has made no bones about re-enforcing at every. Single. Opportunity how close, how entwined and how important Buck and Eddie are to one another - the show has quite literally been prioritising that over anything else Buck and Eddie related - Buck was there front and centre - placed very much on an equal footing with Shannon and even Eddie himself in 7x01, and then Eddie was the centre of Bucks bi arc in 7x04 and in his coming out in 7x05. They are literally moving chess pieces into place to tell an amazing story of queer love in later life and creating an epic slow burn for the ages.
And finally, Eddie is, as far as we know at this point in time, still in a relationship with Marisol - why shouldn't Buck get to explore who he is and what he want's within a relationship rather than sitting pining on the sidelines - that isn't healthy in any way shape or form. Eddie still has stuff to figure out about himself.
Even Tim and Oliver have stated in interviews that this is about a happy and joyful queer experience of figuring out bisexuality and therefore within that is giving the narrative a romcom vibe. But they have also stated that Tommy isn't going to be around for that long - that he is very much a narrative device.
It is worth pointing out that timelines on various aspects of the narrative may have been shifted because of the season 8 renewal - but that is only going to help tell the story because now it doesn't have to be rushed. I'm still fully expecting some form of feeling realisation from one of them by the end of the season (my money is on Buck), setting up for season 8 and Buddie going canon either 8a finale or early into 8b.
You have every right to dislike Tommy if thats you jam - have at it, but don't come to my blog and expect me to agree with you. I'm not a multi shipper by any means - I'm a one ship kind of gal and I will be a Buddie shipper until the end of time, but within that, I am here for amazing storytelling and amazing queer storytelling - the like of which I've not had the privilege to watch on my screen before - especially one that hits so close to home. Its a really important story to tell and I'd rather it not be rushed.
And if you had to pick - I'm pretty sure you'd rather have Tommy around for a bit longer that Marisol!!!!
#kym answers things#nonnie asks#We love Tommy on this blog so don't come to my inbox trying to spread hate!#I get not wanting to see half of your ship with anyone other than the other half of it I really do but to deny the narrative thats going to#get you to canon is just a fools errand - its precisely because of that narrative that will make the ship going canon all the more rewardin#911 spoilers#evan buckley#eddie diaz#buddie#bucktommy#kinley#tevan#911 abc#911 discourse

I didn't realise you were a snowpiercer fan! I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the series. I swear hardly anyone watched it which is so sad!
oh man I LOVED snowpiercer. like. truly a show made for me with all my favourite tropes, character types, and genres. but yeah alright quickfire snowpiercer thoughts let's gooo
josie and layton were so fucking boring sorry I know that was the point but I literally was so bored I also hate love triangleish situations where it's a woc vs a white woman so yeah hated that soooo much
literally best chemistry a cast of a drama have ever had. a bottleneck show like that lives and dies on dynamics and the dynamics in this show were all so compelling. til and layton, melanie and ruth, miss audrey and zarah, Alex and wilford, even fucking pike and ruth were crazy compelling. everyone was so compelling. (except, you know)
I really liked how it catered to people who loved the film, but also distinguished itself very clearly in that the visuals and vibe were lifted from the film but the story did its own thing
I fucking love the production design for the garden cart and the night cart and all the carts in the different classes
kinda loved how everytime you'd have a question about how the logistics of the train worked, the show had your back. I never felt watching it that I didnt understand how everything worked.
Loved how it leaned into the body horror with Josie's sub-plot. Insaneeee
Uhhhh the twist of the second train? Blew. My. Mind. to this day it's one of my favourite twists ever it was so well done, and the way that gets built on with the democracy and piracy plot lines is so good
I loved zarah so much. Main character of the show 2 me
I also loved how the show actually deals with what being on a train forever does to people, mentally
Also loved the little references throughout the series to other environmental disaster stories like Day After Tomorrow
loved how at the end of the world there was so many bisexuals and lesbians. amen
Arguably my most unpopular opinion is that Melanie was boring as a main character. The white feminism of her character being pitted against layton's struggle for liberation pisseddddd me off (which I know was the point but still). I liked her more when she left and came back as a more secondary character. though her and Bennet were so hot. why lie
speaking of hot um yeah daveed diggs covered in blood many times. send tweet
and i miss this show every day and I'll never forgive Warner Bros for fucking over everyone in this show the way they did. Hugest irony ever that a show about how fucked up late capitalism is got killed like that đ

âIntroductionâ
About me:
1: Hello there! Welcome to my blog! You can call me by my username or Climber, but my real name is Alana but I will mostly feel comfortable going by my username! My pronouns are He/Him but Iâm actually a female but I feel oddly comfortable with those pronouns than She/Her pronouns! Iâm also Cupioromantic and lithromantic! Iâm also a multifandom, multishipper, rareshipper, crossshipper as well!
2: I am a self-taught artist! I have had many moments in my life where I felt about giving up on art, but I have soon to realize that I started to get better at art the longer I continued to try and practice on my own and make more art! I was a little hesitant on showing my art work to the public internet community since I thought people would make fun of it! But I saw that people started to like my art work that I post and so that gave me more confidence to post more of my art work and improve!
3: There are specific stuff that I post on my blog, things such as DemJay, Law of talos, Endzone, Burning Avalon, Witches dimension! I will sometimes post some slightly suggestive stuff but I will mainly post normal and fluff art of my favorite characters! But I may take a week off here and there every once in a while but I promise to post daily every week!
My top 4 kins:
Random facts:
1: I have actually been through many sexuality from the start of a very young age! I desperately tried to look for the right sexuality that fit me! I went from thinking I was a lesbian, straight, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, aromatic, quoisexual, to finally finding the right one that fit me! Cupioromantic and lithromantic!
2: I was a Lankybox fan for a long period of time until they started to post some stuff that I didnât really find entertaining anymore? I guess thatâs how you can put it? I mainly started to watch TikTok and other YouTubes more often now. I actually had a Lankybox TikTok account which one was Gacha and one was edits of them! But I did end up deleting them and changing my account entirely. I did have one other Gacha account on TikTok that I was famous on but sadly I got logged out.
3: I have a YouTube channel that my father used for my garden, the channel and videos are still up, actually! But of course I wonât give you the name of the YouTube channel because I find them cringe and the videos were so long ago-
4: Whenever someone new follows or likes my post I just take a look at their account and see what type of stuff they post! So I kinda stalk your account for a little while!
Interact if:
People who are in the DemJay, Law of talos, Endzone, Burning Avalon, Witches dimension fandom! I love meeting people who have the same interest as me!
Climber fans or kins! I actually have been a fan of Climber since 3 years ago! Also I donât want people to think Iâm saying Iâm his number one fan since I find it cringe to say Iâm his number one fan. I just really love Climber and could relate with him-
Artists and small artists! I love seeing peopleâs different styles in their drawings and the fact they put work into it! Like I said, Iâm a self-taught artists and worked to get to find the art style I like!
Do not interact:
Problematic people! I really feel uncomfortable with people who are problematic follow me. If you are associated with a problematic person and just make them as an exception for their problematic acts, just because theyâre cool in some way or your friend or anything like that, please do not interact with my account. Things like proshippers, pedophiles, loilcon lovers, darkshippers, racist people, homophobicâs, anything like that. And please do tell me if I do or say anything problematic! If you still continue to interact with my blog and ignore my boundaries you will immediately get a HARD block!
People who are firm believers about being a hater. If youâre going to simply going to go on my account and hate for no reason, you will get a HARD block! All of us are just trying to have fun!

Hi! Sorry if this is too personal, feel free to ignore if that's the case. I'm just interested in talking about queer, esp bi/pan, experiences.
I'm a fellow bisexual and one of my gripes with society at large and the LGBTQ+ community especially is that I often feel like people only see my attraction to same-gender people and erase the fact that I'm also attracted to people of other genders. It has gotten better over the years, but when I was a teenager I even referred to myself as homosexual with exceptions because I only felt welcome in the lesbian community when I denounced all attraction to men and I thought that if I didn't find a home in the lesbian community, I wouldn't be at home anywhere because bisexuality was so heavily erased and mostly seen as a joke or as a half-assed stepping stone to coming out as gay. I'm also not helping my case by being married to a person of the same gender, though I continue to insist that being married to one person of one gender does not make my attractions to other genders invalid.
Most other bisexuals I know have similar experiences to mine on account of either being in a same-gender relationship or single but still defined by their same-gender attraction. From what I've gathered from your profile (and sorry if I'm wrong!), you're married to a person not of the same gender. What are your experiences like? Do people erase your attraction to same-gender people? Does the LGBTQ+ community read your relationship as "straight-passing" and if so, do they take kindly to that? (I'm thinking of sentiments like no "straight" people at pride that completely ignore that people who look "straight" to you might still be queer in so many ways.)
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
Oh boy, anon, let me tell you, I know a LOT of bi/pan people in your shoes.
This got a bit long, so I'll put my answer below the cut.
My experience these days is pretty chill (I'll get to that), but when I was a baby bi, I remember attending a bi-themed event at our LGBT group in college. I was the only bisexual to show up, and ended up spending over an hour answering questions from people basically grilling me on how bisexuals could even exist. To this day I wish I had just walked out instead of spending all that time being so stressed. It scared me off doing community stuff for a long time, unless I had people around me who I knew.
I've been pretty lucky with queer friends, though - bi/pan people, but also gay and ace - who really saw me. So throughout college and now, my friends' group and the sort of general/informal queer social circles I've run in have been very accepting.
I was never particularly feminine (have never bought makeup, have never owned heels, haven't owned a dress since before I started dating my now-spouse, haven't shaved since freshman year of college, etc). I've always leaned towards men's clothes, and then I started buzzcutting my hair into a short crew cut. I also have a man's wedding band.
Because of all that, I get read as queer in public. It's to the point where, when I start a new job, I can see the looks of confusion when I mention my husband. When people see a butch, they expect a lesbian - so I create a lot of confusion, and they kind of have to accept that I am both queer and have a husband. (I wouldn't be surprised if some of them think I'm confused about my sexuality, but none have made that my problem so far.)
But I feel like the femme bi/pan experience - which is far more common, I feel like butches are fairly rare in my circles whether lesbian or bi - receive much more bullshit from people. Because it's easier to be femme and "look straight", and so femmefolk get written off, even though they're equally valid.
I will say that I think online spaces can feel a bit erasing. Like there's a lot of thirstposting in online culture, but it feels like breaking an unspoken rule to thirstpost about both male and female celebrities*, or to talk about sex with men and women. It always makes me facepalm a bit when people call Claire Max a lesbian, when she's been very clear that (1) she is bi, and (2) she is currently dating both a man and a woman and has even been dating the man (Kyle) for longer. It really saddened me a month ago when an artist who draws a lot of wlw art talked about how people gave her shit for drawing m/f art, too. She shouldn't have to segregate her art to two accounts. (*I think there are also often unspoken rules about nonbinary people, in identity-erasing ways. But that's a rant for another post.)
I've been lucky to not really encounter those erasure problems in IRL queer spaces in recent history - possibly because the ones I've been in have been heavily mixed on the gender/sexuality spectrum.
I feel like a lot of this is very dependent on local norms. I think the more conservative an area is, the harder it is for people to embrace anyone who doesn't fit cleanly into 2 categories. That goes for male/female/nonbinary, straight/gay/bi, top/bottom/vers, etc. It turns out the "fuzzy" categories are actually VERY common. But binaries are easier for people to grasp.
But I feel like I've rambled on enough. In short, these days, I think my butchness & my local context both sort of shield me from some of the common bi problems. Which is lucky for me, but is absolutely a bullshit thing about culture that we all should work on fixing.
You're valid as a bi person, regardless of who you're in a relationship with (or not in a relationship with).

Lmao Itâs Been A While
Dear college freshman and sophomore me,
Remember the guy you had a major crush on and never talked to him because you were so nervous every time you saw him? The guy you would see at the student union looking all fine and smart minding his own business and just couldnât help but want to get to know him? Yeah? WellâŠ. GurlâŠ. Heâs not worth it and is a major disappointment because the man is dry asf and is not the standard⊠he may look cute but do not waste your time.
We finally had our first relationship after years of being single from the ex from high school that traumatized us!! (Btw your bisexual). Look, it may have hurt us deeply, but we learned from it. It gave a us a new perspective on our first relationship and we learned about what WE truly wanted in a relationship. We learned about what we want when it comes to dating and getting into a relationship. Iâm proud to say that we are able to say when enough is enough and stand up for ourselves. It was a great relationship, with many beautiful memories and you learn a lot from it. I donât regret it, but it doesnât end up hurting you in the end.
You have the greatest friends!! They were there through everything. They helped you when you felt lost, they were there when you had a panic attack for the first time in months, they were there to lift you up when you were down. They were there to support you in absolutely everything and I couldnât be more thankful that they are in my life. They give you courage and confidence in our decisions, wishes, and dreams!! Heck you even reconnected with your longest friend after a year of no talking because you thought that she would leave you is she found out you were bisexual!! You couldnât have more more wrong because she supports you and sheâs so happy to see how confident you are in yourself!! Thatâs right baby me!! We are confident nowđ plus you are in such a better place than you have ever been in your life!! Your happy and making memories with the people you love and cherish!! Heck I got high last night with all of our friends and went to the zoo and it was the best experience!!
Also remember the one guy your ex friend did a show with and how she told you all this shit about him and ended up hating him for it? Well⊠you ended up working on a musical with him and you hated him even more!! But thatâs not the point. You both ended up being in the same class⊠and that my friend, is where it all began. So who wouldâve ever thought you would have a fat crush on the guy that you hated? We have read by far too many fanfics. Btw nothing has come out of it, except moments that make me question whether or not heâs being flirty or just a good friend, but let me tell you⊠itâs worth it. Liking him as been one of the most fun experiences because he treats you differently than does with others in his life. He genuinely cares about us. He has defended you to professors, your fake wife (hi Daisyđ„șđ«¶), your close friends, ect⊠he has given us advice, he has calmed us down when we are angry and stressed. He literally threatened us that he would come take care of us himself if we didnât take better care of ourselves when we were sick. He is able to read us like a fucking book and that makes us so happy. We donât have to say a single word because he will say âwhat happened? Talk to me,â and we do!! Man do we talk. We have talked about so many different things, and each one I cherish because he is just as grateful to have me in his life like how much Iâm grateful that heâs in mine. Whether this ends up becoming romantic or friendly, it doesnât matter because we have gained someone in our life that makes us happy.
And now on to the star of this saga. You, me and Us. Iâm so proud of us. We made it to 22, and who wouldâve thought that. Weâve had it hard, life coming at us and throwing curve balls left and right, hiking up mountains and valleys to get where we are and look at us!! We were able to write a full 10 minute script that our professor loved!! We even designed the program that presented our class and everyone loved it!! But the biggest accomplishment was the fact that we are officially an actor!! We preformed in our first main stage theatre production as the main lead for a show that has never been produced before!! On top of that we got nominated to compete for the Irene Ryan this upcoming KACTF!! lol at us go!! All those late nights memorizing lines that ended up being 96 pages was all worth it. We also have made so many new friendships and connections through this experience. We are finally growing up into the person we hoped weâd be! Look how far weâve come and this is just the beginning because now youâre trying to write a book and man am I having fun with it!!
Everything youâve gone through led us to where we are now!! I know it was hard in the beginning, but Iâm so proud of you for holding on!! And Iâm so proud of us for how far weâve come. Goodbye for now little me. Iâll update you in a few years!!
Sincerely,
Međđ„°đđ«¶

- musical adaptation of the classic bill murray time travel movie: self-explanatory.
- male lead isn't as endearing as bill murray and it leaves you feeling weird about the show: look okay i theorize that a good portion of the original movie's charm relies on bill murray because in the text of the movie this guy is CREEPY. same goes for the show, except by the end of the show you feel even less inclined to root for his romance (more on this later)
- seasonal depression: as far as i can remember, the movie doesn't really talk about this, but the show makes Very explicit that phil does not see the sun Once while he's in the time loop. obviously groundhog day == the never-ending continuation of winter and all, but they're very very textual about it in the musical to the point where the opening song is called "there will be sun" (and it's the theme of the town!) and the final song is set to a sunrise
- quality of staging: god y'all it's SO good. the main reason why i watched this musical in the first place was because i figured a stage show could do cool things to show a time loop, especially the montages, and Hot Damn does it deliver. they handle so many settings and so many resets and also trick us about the main character's location, like, CONSTANTLY during the montages. it's excellent!
- feminism: the female romantic lead literally has an entire digression in her First Characterizing Song about barbie's unrealistic body shape. like when i tell you this show could not more clearly have been written by someone raised in the 90s by a second-wave feminist mother. second-wave feminism isn't necessarily bad until it ages poorly, which this one...
okay look the other reason why musical!phil comes off as SO much creepier is because they cast rita as a Black woman and made No attempt to edit the plotline about phil trying to manipulate her into sleeping with him to reflect the changed power dynamics + mean we still root for their romance. they even kept the snowball scene (and its physicality!!) which quite frankly makes my skin crawl even in its original form.
also the second act starts with an entire digression from a random background woman about how men always see her as a sex object -- it is completely irrelevant to the plot, it exists only to get us comfortable so we can be surprised later, and i am. confused why it's this specifically? we get it you know a lot of feminism can we get back to the time loop now please.
- best song is super heavy: it's the song for the suicide montage, it has a banger guitar part and they stage it Incredibly but it's also. the suicide montage. enough said
- canonical bi-curiosity: "I've slept with ninety percent of women in Puxatawney between age 18 and 84, and one dude when I was bored" / "And when you were 19, you kissed a girl, and you didn't particularly like it"
diversity... loss? win? i like that they felt the need to specify. from now on all "straight" characters are officially bisexual unless the text CONFIRMS that they tried other options and didn't like it.
- two bar guys: I LOVE THEM OKAY THEIR SONG IS BANGER GO LISTEN TO IT (cw for heavy alcohol) (this isn't the greatest version of the song ever but you get to see their faces)
trying to explain the groundhog day musical like. it's a musical adaptation of the classic bill murray time loop movie, except the male lead isn't quite as endearing as bill murray, so you end the show feeling a weird kind of way about the main character. also it's about seasonal depression, like, with textual support. the staging is absolutely incredible. it has a weird amount of feminist writing but, like, specifically mid 2000s feminist theory with an honestly impressive lack of awareness of the concept of intersectionality. the best song is super heavy so you can't show it to most of your friends. both the male and female leads were canonically once bi-curious and now firmly straight. and the bar guys are two of the best characters in the show
#just realized i forgot to expand on this before#and i'm Really feeling the groundhog day state of mind recently so#here you go#musicals#groundhog day#sb and l rambles#suicide mention cw

noticed you still have your requests open and im loving how you're making a lot of filipina readers omg <33333
so what about this, Bi/Pan!Camilo x Filipina!Short Haired!reader where they meet at a welcoming party for the reader's family and she shows up in a baro't saya, and she has her fan up for most of the night but they spend a bit of time together (her noting that she really hates wearing formal dresses) and before they knew it, reader has to go home
cut to the next day, camilo goes looking for her but couldnt find her anywhere, he goes to his spot in the woods, only to find someone there wearing a camisa de chino. he strikes up a conversation with them thinking hes a guy(also crushes on him) when actually its just the same reader from last night, listening to him ramble thinking hes the reader's brother that he doesnt know of. reader stays silent pretending to be mute until her name gets called by her parents or smth and she teases him for liking both versions of her before leaving
just wanna note that reader is just someone thats tomboyish and still uses she/her pronouns, i just find it cute that if reader were a guy he would still like her just the same hehe
(not sure if i expressed this right but u can always ask me if i was unclear abt smth lmao)
"the versions of you"
summary:
â  Camilo swoons over a beautiful lady wearing a Baro't Saya at a party, but she leaves the party without telling her name. The next day, Camilo goes outside to see a handsome guy in Camisa De Chino, he strives up a conversation and ends up falling for him. Unbeknownst to the shapeshifter, the lady and guy were one and the same.

â  mochieeee!!!! this idea is very cute huhuhu, i enjoyed writing this so much thank you for requesting!
A party was going to be held this evening at la casa Madrigal. Everyone in Encanto was aware that a party hosted by the Madrigals was going to be a significant event. All of the people will get dressed nicely for the occasion, and you were no exception.
Being in a family that is very traditional is either something you have pride in or just straight up gives you a pain in the ass. Take this moment for an instance, your parents are forcing you to wear a Baro't Saya to the Madrigals' welcoming party for your family. Surely you are proud of your heritage but this was too much for your liking. However, no amount of protest would make your parents stop forcing you to wear traditional clothing, they even threatened to beat your ass with a tsinelas. You scowled deeply as you looked in front of your mirror with your siblings making fun of you and your parent cooing at how beautiful their daughter is. Your mother hands you a hand fan and you take it with a heavy sigh.
Eventually, you follow your family to la casa Madrigal. You see the other Madrigals dressed well, you even spotted a few of them sending compliments to you and your family for your unique choice of outfits. You opened your hand fan with a flustered face, you felt more embarrassed than flattered by the compliments. It wasn't like you hated the outfit, it was just you weren't used to wearing them. Back in your old town, you preferred to wear more loose clothing that didn't restrict your movements. In contrast to the Baro't Saya you're wearing, which was too tight for your taste. Your parents failed to notice that you're a growing teenager.
All of you arrive inside the Casita, the house greeted you by moving the tiles, and you can't help but smile and wave at the magical house. There was upbeat music playing, the scent of food was in the air, and everyone was having a good time. Unlike you, who's trying her best to take in a breath while wearing this tight dress. Parties for you were hit or miss, but it was hard to ignore the cheery atmosphere that you wish you could enjoy the moment.
You frowned and sat near the corner, grumpily munching on an arepa and fanning your face. You let your family have their fun as they scattered around the place to socialize with others. This was your first time wearing a traditional outfit in public and it's making you highly self-conscious. For the rest of the party, you remained alone and covered your face with your hand fan.
Lively music began blaring, a familiar musical piece entitled El Baile Madrigal. You watched in awe as a few of the Madrigals walked into the center and started dancing. They all looked so happy and truly in the moment. You quietly cheered along with the others, you gazed at Pepa and FĂ©lix Madrigal dancing smoothly with the music. AgustĂn pulls his wife, Julieta Madrigal, and proceeds to dance with her. Alma Madrigal was gently pushed into the dancefloor with her son Bruno as they too shared a dance.
You swayed along with the music until you heard howls amongst them. A flash of yellow catches your eye as you watched in amazement at this fantastic guy pulling all of the smoothest dance moves. He twirled and smiles, his hips were mesmerizing, and especially that confident look on his face. You can tell he's purposely putting on a show, it also doesn't take a genius to identify him as the one and only Camilo Madrigal. He danced with his family and continued to entertain everyone with his shapeshifting. All of a sudden, Camilo's eyes meet yours, you lock your gaze on him and began pulling your fan to cover half of your face. Until the end of the music, Camilo kept his eyes on yours.
The shapeshifter almost tripped on his own feet after seeing that beautiful lady wearing that adorned outfit. He knew he had to talk to her because holy shit she was beyond ethereal. While everyone cheered for his fantastic performance, he pushed himself through the crowd and towards the pretty girl. He meets her and his heart leaps out of his chest. The shapeshifter gulped and nervously brushed his hair back, you looked at him with those shimmering [Eye Color] eyes that made his knees so weak.
"Hola, hermosa"
Camilo greeted. You stand awkwardly in your dress, not knowing how to respond. You weren't going to lie, he looked more handsome up close. You decided to ease up a little
"Aren't you going to dance some more?"
"Oh, dancing can wait when a chica bonita like you only comes around once in a while"
He winked at you and your face suddenly heats up. Camilo cautiously gets closer to you, hoping to get a good look at your face but your hand fan was getting in the way. He huffed but offered you an empanada, you softly take the snack and ate it behind the fan. Camilo takes in your appearance from head to toe. Short hair, bright eyes, light makeup and jewelry, and an eccentric but beautiful clothing
"I like your dress, it really suits you"
"H-ha? Re-really?"
"SĂ, I've never seen anyone like you, especially this pretty"
"Ay, tigilan mo nga pambobola mo"
The shapeshifter raises a brow in confusion about the lady's foreign language. The girl clears her throat and shyly looked into his eyes.
"...You think I'm pretty?"
"Yes, very much, señorita"
"I...thank you. I don't really wear this type of clothes all the time"
"Hmm, that's no problem. Say, are you from a different country?"
You nod your head and began talking about your home country. You take note of Camilo's interest in getting to know you, it was incredibly sweet of him. During the entire party, you spend some time with the Madrigal. He'll crack you jokes to make you laugh your lungs out and in return, you'll tell him stories about your heritage. Camilo excuses himself to get more food for you and him. It was getting late when your parents went looking for you.
"Halika na, uuwi na tayo"
Your parents said but you felt reluctant to leave without saying goodbye to Camilo, yet you knew better than to disobey your parents. With a sad smile, you go to your parents and went home for the night. Soon, the shapeshifter returns only to find you gone. Camilo can feel his heart drop to the floor. He panicked and looked all of the Casita for you but all in vain. Stumped, he sat by the staircase and sadly gazed at the floor.
The beautiful Filipina lady left without even giving him her name, Camilo believed what he shared with her was special. Man, it felt like it was straight out of a fairy tale, like Cinderella. In that case, like the prince, he too shall search for the beautiful nameless lady.
As soon as the sun rises, Camilo bolted out of his bed. His entire family was astonished to find him awake this early, usually, he would take any opportunity to sleep in. He drinks his coffee and eats breakfast with his family, he ate faster than he could ever be. Camilo eagerly excuses himself to head to town.
He makes his way through the streets of Encanto, searching every nook and corner for those beautiful [Eye Color] eyes. The shapeshifter barely slept that night, he was plagued with the thoughts of that charming lady. Camilo kept looking for her until the afternoon, but to no avail.
Camilo found himself in dismay and took a stroll in the woods. He tried to clear his head but all he can think about is that astonishing girl. His thoughts turn to a stop when he noticed another person sitting by themselves. The shapeshifter halts to get a clear look at the person. It appears to be a guy wearing casual clothes and enjoying the silence. He gently approaches but he steps on a twig and catches the other's attention.
The Madrigal's heart leaps out of his chest when he saw how fucking handsome the guy looked. Camilo trips and falls to the ground, he gets back up to his feet and pretended he wasn't embarrassed. The guy gave him a look as if he has grown two heads.
"I...uh...ÂĄHola!"
He says in a high-pitched voice and a flushed face. The guy stayed silent but sends him a small wave. Camilo found himself stumbling on his words, too distracted by the handsome guy in front of him. The shapeshifter inhales sharply, the beating of his heart was faster than ever.
"Can I...can I sit here with you?"
The Madrigal asked. Obliviously, the guy who's gazing at him was you but wearing Camisa de Chino. The outfit was your go-to when you would go out in the town, it wasn't uncommon for some strangers to mistake you for a boy. The events of the previous night returned and it made you timid around the shapeshifter. However, instead of revealing your true identity as the lady in Baro't Saya, you stayed quiet.
Camilo shyly takes a seat beside the boy, he twiddled with his hands for a second and consciously brushed his hair back. As he stole glances at the pretty guy, it's suddenly making him self-conscious. His face heats up when the guy meets his eyes. For an odd reason, his eyes reminded him of the Filipina he met last night. Camilo squinted his eyes at the guy.
"Hey, you look familiar..."
You gulped. You don't want to be recognized that quickly. Luckily for you, the Madrigal drops his suspicious gaze on you. Though you can't stop a smile rising on your face when you took note of how flustered he acted.
"I could've sworn you reminded me of someone. Uh, do you happen to be related to a Filipina lady because you kinda look like her?"
Camilo watched the guy nod at him. Oh, that must be why he looks familiar! He was related to the charming lady from last night. The shapeshifter can help but gawk at him, the handsome lad wasn't the talkative type. But he has to admit, the guy and the lady surely have amazing genetics because he's fucking swooning for the both of them.
"You're really...uh...handsome"
You smile at his compliment. You watch in amusement as Camilo's face turns into various shades of red.
"Oh...um, I think I met your sister last night. She was incredibly...beautiful, but she didn't give me her name when she left..."
"Bu-but I'm glad I met you here because...heh, you know, I wanna meet her, I can't get her out of my head"
"Honestly, you look just like her and I'm unsure if you two are twins but you're...attractive as hell and..."
"And can I also get your name?"
You hold back a laugh at Camilo's sudden rambling. You can't believe that the shapeshifter was falling for the two versions of you, it's adorable. You kept your mouth shut, not wanting to spoil the fun and to let Camilo remain blushing under your presence.
"[Name]?! There you are! I've been looking for you!"
Your mother calls for you. Camilo's eyes go wide for a second, you freeze and eventually let out an awkward chuckle as you looked at him. You stand up from your spot and gave him a teasing look.Â
"Looks like you now know me and my sister's name"
It took a whole minute for Camilo to process everything, it felt like a bucket of cold water dumped over him. Camilo's jaw drops as he points at you. All of it finally makes sense! The lady from last night as well as this handsome lad in front of him are the same person! This brings a feverish blush to his face. He can't believe he just crushed on two versions of the same girl!
"I guess I'll see you later, you two-timer"
You winked teasingly and ruffled his hair as you walked away to your mother and then left. The shapeshifter found the situation so mind-boggling, a girl who both can be beautiful and handsome. He felt like he just hit the ultimate jackpot. Camilo bites his lip and snapped his fingers.Â
"Hot damn"

I finally put together a review of Loki (TV Series). I've always been a huge Marvel fan, a huge MCU fan, but this show was horrific to me. Especially since I saw the show through to the end, I wanted to write a review for the main reviewing websites. I want this side to be heard. All it took was an immense amount of rage to get me to write reviews!
Iâm planning on posting it on imdb, Rotten Tomatoes, and google reviews. So far Iâve gotten errors and issues with RT and google, and Iâm hoping it doesnât get lost on imdb. Any other places to leave reviews?
It took me a while to write this. I had to calm down a lot to make it coherent. Then I had to figure out how to condense it. I felt like a review should be my main points, but it took a lot of editing to get it down this much. (Then I had to make an edited version because google has much smaller word limits).
Thanks a lot @iamnmbr3. Your blog was the first one I found on the topic and it was a huge help. The show felt off from the first episode, but I couldnât figure out why. Your analysis on the show really helped me to verbalize what I was feeling.
Review (except shorter on google):
As a huge MCU fan, I found the show to be intolerable. The plot was slow with way too much filler for the length of the show, and much of the filler felt purposeless. They could have deleted entire scenes or plot points without changing much if any of the story. The creators deliberately made the aesthetic average and mundane, which didnât pair well with the underwhelming plot. The show relied heavily on slapstick humor, almost all of which was directed at the title character in a manner that encouraged laughter at his pain and stupidity. It would have been better suited for a cartoon, but it would be a cruel cartoon.
The TVA was presented as the better of two evils despite it being a totalitarian organization utilizing genocide and torture, both physical and mental. It felt very reminiscent of the book 1984 with the Thought Police, but the TVA was never truly represented as evil. Not one character opposed them as a hero or from a moral standpoint. All opposition came from a personal or self-serving motive. Iâm not wanting every character to be brilliantly moralistic. That would be boring. But you donât set up an organization like the TVA and say that they are providing a good and needed service, which was the idea the series was based on and ended on.
Mobius has a personality that is very easy to like, but he is very much complicit with the TVA. He happily 'does his job' of genocide and torture. He is Loki's captor, but we are informed he is his friend. When he isn't actively using physical or mental manipulation and torture, he is deriding and mocking him. There was nothing to indicate that they were friends outside of being told that is true. Mobius was never used as a villain by the show despite him fitting the mold well, but he also never has a redemption arc that would have made him a good hero. His reason for working against the TVA is because they lied to him, not because there is any moral reason. His change in alliances happened without much buildup, no gradual discovery throughout the series.
Sylvie felt like a caricature of a character, with very little to her personality other than grit. I was very bored with her. She was a tough, strong, and perfect character that lacked any other depth or nuance. She was called âterrifyingâ for being female, which felt horrifyingly sexist. She was yet another source of derision and mocking towards Loki.
Loki, the character, was very poorly written. He has always had a great deal of emotional depth that makes him interesting. He was acted with a range from extreme subtlety to riveting explosions of emotion in previous movies. His past is filled with good and bad choices, made with good and bad intentions. He was the villain who tried to be a hero and the hero who tried to be a villain. They took all that away and made him a side character in his own show who had little to no effect on the plot.
For abilities, he lacked his usual physical fighting prowess. He did very little magic, seeming awed when others used magic. His personality and mannerisms changed drastically. His gestures and expressions in this show were over the top and felt clownish, especially for a character that is known for his subtlety. He felt hyperactive and painfully eager to please everyone. His character is known for his manipulations, but his method of 'manipulation' here is to inform others that he is 'ten steps ahead' of them and is going to trick them. I donât think thatâs a good method of manipulation? Plus, the only effect he had on the plot was to slow down the other characters through his bumbling failures.
In addition, Loki was almost always the target of cruelty. This entire show felt like it was made to mock this character. They used every opportunity to tell us, and Loki, how terrible Loki is. How he is irredeemable and incapable of change. That he is a narcissist, which is inaccurate, and that any Loki is inherently untrustworthy. From birth, I suppose. Physical attacks, such as the slow-motion punch and the time loop where he was repeatedly kicked in the crotch, made me cringe. This show encouraged the enjoyment of cruelty.
As a last point, the show used the idea of representation to draw in viewers while avoiding having actual representation. The show was lauded as being good for bisexual and genderfluid representation. From what Iâve heard, the genderfluid representation was a mark on Lokiâs paperwork, which you would need to pause at just the right moment to see. Plus, that makes the âterrorâ at a female Loki make even less sense. The bisexual representation was shown through a single word, and the character was only shown to be so when they made an entire show to mock and belittle him. That is not good representation.
I was very excited for this show, as well as for the next phase of the MCU. This has left me very disappointed and disheartened. I may not be entirely finished with the MCU, but this is the first part of the series that has killed my excitement for future releases. I get a sinking feeling when I hear about future projects now. I have enjoyed debating creative choices before, but this is not simply creative choices. It is too much cruelty, combined with poor writing and a lack of continuity.

fic rec masterlist
canon divergent/finale fix its
Anamnesis
THIS! FIC! this fic lives in my head rent FREE it is so good and it makes so much sense in the narrative that the shitty finale concocted, as to why they wouldn't mention cas or anyone else and its just. so good and they write chuck in the most villainous way that i love!!!
"Chuck is depowered, Jack is the new god, and the world is free. Dean and Sam get into the Impala and chase down the miles on an endless highway, and their story is finally, finally their own to follow. At least, that's what Dean tells himself. But the diners and motels and painted interstate lines are blurring together and the smallest details keep catching at his brain like tiny fishhooks and he can't quite shake the feeling that not everything is exactly as it should be. Fix-it/alternate series finale. Canon-compliant through the end of 15.19."
Sunset Sound: Stairway to Heaven by @adhdeancas
GOD FUCKING CHRIST this is so good and sweet and im such a sucker for team ups and reunions!!! its 3:30 am rn and i just finished it and i love it SO much it made me laugh a lot and the last few chapters i had the stupidest grin just plastered to my face
The Closer the Star, the Greater the Parallax by @rocksaltsâ
repressed bastard dean submits to the mortifying ordeal of being known and receives the rewards of being loved but only after some miscommunication i LOVE this i read it last night and itâs a fast favorite. my interests have overlapped and i am INTO it
âWhen Dean sits down to watch some bullcrap Discovery Channel episode with Cas, he doesnât expect to actually learn anything. Except, with Cas explaining, he makes an effort to connect the dots.â
Don't We All Deserve To Be Happy?
VERY sweet and a VERY good pick me up. all around feel good fic!!!Â
"Post-canon fix-it, divergent from 15x19 where Jack stays and Dean doesn't die and Cas comes back and everyone is happy. Take a shot every time I'm salty about the finale."
Keep Your Love Alive
okay. okay okay okay this may be my favorite finale fix it just because of how well reasoned it is. like this feels what should have happened i love it SO much
"Dean gets to spend eternity sharing beers with Bobby on the Roadhouse porch and riding around in his Baby with Sam. Heâs at peace⊠or he feels like he should be. But a few things nag at him: Where is Cas, and everybody else Dean had been hoping to see in Heaven? Why does he feel like heâs stuck in a loop, reliving the same memories over and over again? And who are the strangers wearing Samâs and Bobbyâs faces?"
The GoldenRod Revisions by @aethylasâ
this is one of the most well written things ive ever read. the script format DID make it feel more real and honestly? this is better writing than this show deserves. the finale that could have been â„ïž
âA rewrite of Supernaturalâs final two episodes, expanded into a five episode arc - in which Chuck needs to be defeated, Castiel deserves to be saved, and the characters in this story get a very different ending.â
Ascend by @wanderingcasâÂ
THEE finale fix it fic!!! written by the AMAZINGLY skilled and talented @wanderingcas !!! itâs 50k of angst and hurt/comfort and pure bliss
âSomething in the world is wrong.
Demon activity is rising where mysterious black substance oozes and unusual ecological events are shaking the world. Dean, grief hanging on his shoulders, restlessly searches for answers that might lead him to the Empty⊠and to Cas.
But what Chuck wrote canât be undone. The narrative thread pulls Dean along, forcing him to comply. Because once a story already has an ending, it canât be rewritten.
Or can it?â
Things Happen (They Do, And They Do, And They Do)Â by THEEÂ @sobsicles
i KNOW everyone has already recommended this and likely youâve all already read it. but it has to go here bc REPRESSIOOOOOOOOON i LOVE this so much it is one of the most perfect things iâve read. are you bisexual? did you have a kind of weird relationship with your best friend and not realize that how you felt about them wasnât necessarily how other people felt about them and you were maybe a little bit in love with them but were too repressed to realize it? youâll feel seen. maybe a little too seen
Closer (isn't close enough)
are you a sweet and sappy yet horny bastard? do you like cas exploding light bulbs? you will like this.
âthe one where they finally talk about what cas said before the empty took himâ
You and Your Husband
it is exTRMELY sweet!!! repression dean strikes again <3
"Five times Dean corrects someone about his relationship with Cas, and one time he realizes he doesn't need to."
Tall Grass
miscommunication and a slowburn! despite being written in 2017 and finished in 2018, it feels like a fix it. ft. plant obsessed cas <3Â
Invictus
a LOVELY and short (relatively) finale fix it
âThey saved the world. They're free. It's done.
Except it's not, and carrying on is the last thing any of them are thinking about.
They still have someone they need to save.â
Unchained Link
post finale- itâs a great case fic and i am compelled i want more!!!
"It's after the end of things. Life continues on while Dean is "livin it up" in heaven. But it's never that simple, is it? A freak occurrence sends Dean into another time stranded back on Earth. And he thought his hunting days were over. But, no worries. His knight in shining armor comes to the rescue. Hijinks, therefore, ensue."
fun and time unspecified
Ladies and Gentlemen, This is Love Potion No. 5
very funny and sweet! miscommunication at its finest â„ïž
"Cas gets drenched with a mystery potion from the âlove spellâ shelf and... Dean has a sneaking suspicion, angel or noâ the spell may have taken effect. And Cas might be in love with Sam."
The Way We Were
Y'all. It is so good its a great mix of funny and serious- extremely fun to see dean as like a base bisexual
"Dean and Castiel pose as a couple to gain access to a gated community known as 'The Glen', a pleasant if secretive location that the boys believe might be linked to several dead bodies showing up over the years bearing signs of ritualistic sacrifice. All seems well until Dean's memory is affected from an incident during a solo exploration, leaving Dean convinced that their cover story is true. Castiel is left trying to resolve their case without taking advantage of an increasingly enthusiastic Dean"
While You Were Sleeping
this is basically just the movie but replacing sandra bullock with cas. this is my comfort movie and imo, one of the most perfect rom coms. the fic isnât finished but i still have the tab open on my phone and i will straight up go back and re read it when i need a pick me up.Â
aus/rewrites
The Harvelle Gospels: Offscript
i know everyone ever ( @jewishcharliebradbury ) has recommended this fic. and for good reason go fucking read it
âThe Apocalypse is averted, the angels are in Heaven, and Jo is free from the threat of possession. Somehow it couldn't be farther from a happy ending.â
absolute riots
An Ineffably Profound Bond
i honestly would have put this in the finale fix it section! look. i know. i know you've been burned by crossover fics before. but this is Thee good omens/spn fic you want. its funny as hell and immensely satisfying. im weak for everyone working together tropes and that is this
"After Chuck sets 'The End' in motion, the remaining members of TFW make a miraculous escape. Not willing to waste any time, Castiel comes up with a plan to travel to one of the other worlds to try and get help from the angels there, but after a fight with Dean, it's the hunter who gets sent into an alternate universe, with seemingly no hope of return.
When a mysterious human with a heavenly weapon shows up in Aziraphale's shop, he and Crowley learn that their world is not the only one. Now it is up to them to decide whether or not they want to join forces with the human and help him save his world or simply find a way to send him home."
Somebody Up There Likes Me by @lafilleredige
cas is hit with a spell that turns his vessel into a woman, hijinks and sexuality crises ensue etc etc sam is a supportive and bitchy little brother and its all SO fucking funny and also. horny as hell i love it i love it i LOVE it
ââDean doesnât want to talk about your breasts, itâs making him uncomfortable because he hasnât acknowledged the complex fluidity of human sexuality.ââ
Stray Cat Strut
a long crack fic that IS one of the funniest things iâve ever read and i canât explain why. itâs so ooc but its so funny that i donât care. if you need a laugh you gotta read this
"Sam and Cas are immediately in love with the adorable kitty they find outside the bunker door, and occupy their time planning how to convince Dean--who they believe is off sulking after a botched hunt--to let them keep their cat. Along the way, Dean learns to use a litter box and hears some confessions he maybe wasnât supposed to hear, all while realizing just how much he loves Castiel.
Now all Dean has to do is convince Cas and Sam their new pet cat is actually him before they do something crazy--like neuter him!"
canon compliant or slight canon divergence

Ok putting aside John Barrowman for this because it's just sad and disappointing how he's ended up, Jack Harkness is one of the most important characters of all time.
Russell T. Davies decided that he wanted to create the bi representation he wanted to see on screen, in his words "a bisexual space pirate swaggering in with guns and attitude and cheek and humour into primetime family viewing". And we need to appreciate how brave that is. The British media are not kind to queerness in general, and we were only two years after the end of Section 28 where acknowledging that LGBTQ+ people existed was literally illegal in British schools. This was a series being primarily marketed to kids, we got Captain Jack action figures being sold in stores across the country.
So he gets his flirty introduction in Empty Child/Doctor Dances, we get the kinda polycule vibes in Boom Town, and then we reach Bad Wolf/Parting Of The Ways, and that wonderful goodbye scene. He had this cocky flirty character kiss the Doctor and Rose in quick succession with genuine tenderness. It's beautiful and tragic, and the character goes off to meet his fate, doomed by the narrative like so many queer characters before him...
Except not. If you look at RTD's outside work like Its A Sin, you know that he's seen too many wonderful queer people die and disappear, so what did he do with Jack?
He made a queer hero that couldn't die.
And then he made him the centerpiece of a new show where the whole main cast were some degree of bi/queer, where he got to have an m/m relationship that grew and developed and was kinky and wonderful and sincere. He made this flirty bi disaster one of the lynchpins of his era, turning up for two big finales. And I don't know if people will realise now quite how revolutionary this was, how utterly different Torchwood felt, how it made bisexuality something tangible for us kids who were figuring ourselves out.
Like, all due respect to Bill and how refreshing her arc was, and Pearl Mackie is amazing, a bi woman getting to play a really fantastic lesbian character who also gets a way to survive the impossible, but for me it's an easy choice here.
Who is the Biggest Gay Icon?
TOURNAMENT MASTERPOST
#Doctor Who#Captain Jack Harkness#I really hate that Barrowman has tainted the character#Because I was so fucking excited to see him return in 13's era#This character is so important to me#And he represents such a sea change in not only Doctor Who#But like#British TV in general#Bisexual representation in general#And yeah my own life

BL Tag Game
Thank you @kpdeek for tagging me!!
Oh god fair warning not only have I not watched a lot of bls, my mind is full of Kinnporsche so it might show up a lot ssksnsk
All time favorite BL character and why:
So it's definitely a tie between Porsche and Kinn, because both of them have a special place in my heart but in so many different ways? Like I once said it before that loving Porsche came naturally like I saw him in the first scene and said "this is my emotional support disaster bisexual and i will love him till i die" but Kinn? The way the show made me fall in love with Kinn alongside Porsche was just ahh, like I love what they did with his character and how soft and caring and goofy he also gets to be with people he cares abt. So yeah it's def between them two.
What's your one character from a BL you wanted to punt into the stratosphere?
That bitch Khai from "Theory of Love" and also Gene from "Lovely Writer"
Like Khai is just walking red flag on its own and through the first half i screamed how i hated him and through the second half of the show i just screamed "YEAH AND THAT'S ON CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR OWN ACTIONS" so like even if there were moments i felt bad for him, like truly he doesn't deserve my sympathy
And Gene oh god I was just so irritated with his character? And idk he just seemed so useless to everything and he was the main character, I don't know he just annoyed me because sometimes the potential was there and then suddenly he was just?? So stripped of his own agency by the plot that it frustrated me
Best music moment from a BL:
Definitely the beach episode one from Bad Buddy, I cried when Pran was singing that song to Pat and it was just overall lovely and bittersweet and everything I needed
A popular het text you'd like to see adapted into a BL:
Ohhh, that's a nice question. I feel like to All the Boys I've loved before would be actually a fun mindless watch bl
A scene from a BL that always makes you laugh:
Definitely the one where Pete, Arm and Pol are gossiping and Arm says that Kinn and Porsche are definitely a thing and Pete gets that lookâą on his face, my poor boi
Biggest disappointment:
Lovely Writer. I think the potential was there and it wanted to bring up so many interesting discussions but idk the romance felt kinda flat most of the time for me (except the piano scene at the end, god that piano scene was so lovely and nice??) And some issues that were brought in lacked nuance in how they were represented?? At least I felt like that
What 2 random BL characters would make hilarious exes?
I'm honestly blank at that
Who would be the funniest person to watch a BL in its entirety and which one would you make them watch?
Okay so I can't really settle on like one definite person bc I think it depends on like funny as watch their reaction (bad) vs hear their commentary
Bc if the second then it must be my sister and I would have her sit with me through the whole of "Cutie Pie" because I think the amount of rich people bullshit that is happening there would throw us in laughing fits by itself but even more so when we will add our jokes
Best wardrobe moment or character wardrobe from a BL:
Okay listen I love Tankhun and his outfits, I love the red suit Kinn, I love them, I adore them
But
Vegas and his fucking red velvet shirt own me, LIKE WHERE DID HE FUCKING GET IT, SPILL THE WARDROBE GOSS PLEASE
Like look at him
I don't care abt the rest, like that shirt with that chain keeps me up at night. I want it.
I'm tagging @layvendar @yilingbee and @i-am-church-the-cat
Have fun xx
#kinnporsche#kinn theerapanyakul#porsche kittisawasd#bad buddy#theory of love#i will not tag lovely wr*ter bc that just seems rude#but yeah so that's all#also if anyone has an info on vegas' shirt lmk please i beg of you

IT WAS UNFAIR, Stiles thought, that Derek Hale was so freaking hot.
It wasnât just because it was a summer day and he swore, it had to be over a hundred degrees. It wasnât just because the man had shed his shirt long ago, working alongside the betas as they started the paneling of the Hale houseâs unfinished porch. And it wasnât just because Stiles was a raging bisexual and Derek Hale was exactly his kind of dream guy.
Except maybe it was all of those things. Maybe it was because Derek Hale was so goddamn gorgeous, so very shirtless, and so freaking muscled, Stiles couldnât wrap his head around it all. Andâ and shit. It wasnât fair, Stiles thought.Â
It wasnât fair that Derek Hale was so freaking hot.
Sighing, he took another long drink of his lemonade, protected by the shade of the trees from across the lawn. Heâd started out the afternoon helping the others work on the Hale house, he really had. But Stiles was just human, okay? He wasnât nearly as muscled or effortlessly tireless as the others. And heâd never admit this any other time, but he was totally okay with being the token human for the day while the others worked their werewolfy asses off.
Sitting next to him, strawberry-blonde hair whisping slightly in the faint breeze, Lydia looked like she felt exactly the same.
âI never thought Iâd look at a handful of shirtless, sweaty boys and feel nothing,â she said, tilting her head thoughtfully. Stiles choked on his sip of lemonade and Lydia smirked, glancing over at him before her gaze drifted back across the lawn toward Derek. âJust like Iâm sure you never thought youâd look at such a hot, shirtless Hale and feel so much.â
âOh my god, Lydia, really?â
Lydia just hummed and Stiles desperately tried not to blush, dropping his eyes to the dirt. Because his worst nightmare was that one day Derek would overhear what Lydia voiced in âprivateâ, and he might just have to throw himself off a cliff if that ever happened.
And he was too young to die.
âPlease, just never say that again,â Stiles said. âLike, ever.â
âYou know itâs true, though.â
Stiles shot her a sharp look, which the girl completely ignored. But if Stiles had anything to say about it, Lydia was definitely wrong. Andâ and even if she wasnât, it wasnât like he was that obvious about certain things, okay? He definitely wasnât obvious.Â
In fact, Stiles would like to state for the record that he was the total and complete opposite of anything Lydia ever said.Â
Always.Â
Because Stiles had never tripped over his own feet after Derek flashed red eyes in his direction. And heâd never run face-first into a wall when the man had simply growled his name. Heâd never accidentally spilled coffee down the front of his shirt when Derek had brushed a little too close and heâd never almost had a heart attack when Derek had shoved him into a wall after Stiles had spilled a certain... beverage all over the manâs shoes.
Okay, okay, maybe he had done these things before. Once. On the same day. But that was just once.
Just once.
And Stiles was pretty sure nothing like that would ever happen again. In that order, at least.
Yet, here he was, doing his best to pretend like a shirtless and sweaty Derek Hale wasnât doing unseemly things to him. Unseemingly things like fixating only on the unseemly that heâd like Derek to be doing to him. Because, well, the things heâd let Derek do to him...
âStiles,â Lydia said, interrupting his daydream. âYouâre drooling.â
Stiles snapped back to reality, shaking his head, and automatically flushed at her smug look. âI am not.â
âYou are. And itâs a bit pathetic.â
âOkay, you know what? Youâre a bit patheââ Lydia gave him a dangerous look and Stiles promptly snapped his mouth shut. âNever mind.â
âWise choice.â
âBut I wasnât drooling.â
Smirking, Lydia gazed back toward the Hale house. Then, a devious look crossed her face and she glanced over at him before nodding toward where the others had stopped to take a break on the half-finished steps. âYou know, you could be over there giving Derek a reason to drool over you.â
Stiles blinked. âUh, you mean get all sweaty and gross too? No thanks.â
Lydia rolled her eyes. âI mean stop hiding over here and go get yourself worked up over there. Show those idiot wolves what Stiles Stilinski has to offer.â
âOkay, first of all, that is never going to happen,â Stiles said. âAnd seriously, Lydia, youâre a menace. Do you know what lies under all of this?â He gestured down at himself and accidentally sloshed lemonade over his hand, cursing. Point one for what Stiles Stilinski had to offer. âAbsolutely nothing, thatâs the answer. Nothing but pale skin, weak everything, and the proof that Iâve spent most of my life living off of curly fries and milkshakes instead of that green crap I make my dad eat.â
Lydia raised an eyebrow, looking slightly amused. Sighing, Stiles turned his gaze back across the lawn.
âWhat I would give for some werewolf abs, though.â
âI donât think thatâs how it works.â
âOh, that's absolutely how it works,â Stiles shot back. âTrust me, I know. Iâm the pack expert, remember? The packspert, if you will. And you all rely on me to know these things.â
âHm.â
Stiles took another sip of his lemonade, eyes still on Derek. Because he definitely was the pack expert, thank you very much. And werewolves like Derek Hale were definitely hotâ it was part of the package deal.Â
Stiles, on the other hand, was lacking hotness on many levels.Â
And thatâs why he was here, sitting far away from where Derek and any of the other werewolves who could catch wind of his... thoughts, daydreaming about a grumpy-growly alpha who would never see him as more than âskinny, defenseless, Stilesâ. And he was totally okay with that, Stiles told himself. He was.
Heâd always been better at lying to himself than others.
-
Three months before Stiles graduated Beacon Hills High, the Hale house was finally finished.
He thought it was a little strange how four years ago, the first time heâd laid eyes on the old house it had been nothing but a skeleton, the remnants looking like they could collapse in on themselves at any moment.
It was all different now.Â
The Hale house looked a little bit like the âbeforeâ pictures Stiles had once caught Derek studyingâ although there were also a few different things added on. Like the archery targets, for example. Or the giant porch that curved around to the back of the house, complete with a fire pit and a grill.Â
Stiles couldnât wrap his mind around ever seeing Derek Hale grill.
And yeah, the house looked a bit like these pictures Stiles had once caught Derek studying. The man had slammed them down and given Stiles a red-eyed alpha look before he could get a good look, but Stiles had ducked back into the room much later, finding a picture left behind that showed the Hale family standing in front of the house before it burned.
The younger version of Derek Hale had been smiling. Stiles didnât think heâd ever seen the older one look like that before.
Heâd left the room feeling a bit conflicted.
Two weeks after that, Stiles swung by the fully finished house after school, the first one to arrive before the rest of the pack. The Camaro, he noticed, was parked near the trees, but the Hale house itself seemed quiet, the newly built porch so much more welcoming than it had been all those years ago.
Stiles hesitated before climbing out of his jeep, debating waiting for one of the others to show up. Scott would probably go to Allisonâs first and Lydia would probably be at Jacksonâs. Stiles had no idea what the other three betas were doing, but thinking too much about what they got up to outside of Derekâs supervision never ended well.Â
Stiles had learned that the hard way years ago.Â
Faintly, looking at the silent house, he wondered if it would look like this after the summer of graduation. Something about that made Stilesâs stomach clench and he shook his head, trying to banish any thoughts of Derek Hale being stuck in an empty house all alone when they were all gone.
Forcing himself out of the car, Stiles pulled his backpack over his shoulders and started toward the house.
It was eerily silent when Stiles stepped foot through the front door. He hesitated and craned his neck to glance up the stairs, then down the hall. But the house seemed completely empty.
âUh, Derek?â
There was almost nothing in the house yet, so Stilesâs voice echoed off the empty walls. He moved through the house quietly, checking each empty room that he passed. But the big bad alpha of Beacon Hills didnât seem to be anywhere around.
Stepping into the living room, Stiles paused. Sitting across the room was a single chair, facing where Isaac had stated the ânecessaryâ pack TV had to go. Behind it was a single picture frame on the wall and as Stiles moved closer, he realized it was the same one heâd seen weeks ago.
The glowing eyes that reflected back at the camera were only a little creepy.
âStiles?â
âShit!â
Stiles spun around so fast, he nearly tripped over his own feet. Derek stood in the doorway of the room, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket and a confused, if not a little concerned, look on his face. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI⊠thought we were all meeting here after school?â
Derek raised an eyebrow but didnât offer an answer. Fishing out his phone, Stiles scrolled through his unread messages andâ shit. There were a number of cancellations from the others, one after the other.
Stiles swallowed hard, glancing back up. âOkay, I might be wrong.â
Derek just continued to eye him. Stuffing his phone back into his pocket, Stiles glanced around the near-empty room and desperately wracked his brain, trying to think of a reason that he should not be around either. Because what was he even supposed to do now?
This was not going according to plan.
âWell then,â he said, avoiding Derekâs unnerving stare. âI should be going.â
The silence continued to reign and when Stiles glanced back up, Derek just shrugged, turning away. And Stiles didnât know where the hell the werewolf had come from or where he was going now, but he was not going to wait around and see.
Things did not need to be any more awkward.
Gripping the straps of his backpack tighter, Stiles made for the back door insteadâ the quickest escape route. Though, he still paused at the doorway and glanced over his shoulder. Derek was gone now, but Stiles noticed a single empty plate on the table next to the single empty chairâ the few things in the near-empty room
The house suddenly seemed even quieter than before.Â
Stomach twisting, Stiles swallowed hard and shook his head, ducking out the back door into the cool evening air. And he didnât look back until he was in his jeep again, staring at the looming house.
He thought he saw movement in the highest window; the quickest flash of shadow. But when he blinked and looked again, the window was empty and the house stood still. Still, dark, and almost a little more menacing than before.
Stiles jammed the key into the ignition and drove away faster than was probably necessary.
-
Stiles thought his crush on Derek Hale started sometime after his freshman year.
After Derek stopped scaring the ever-living crap out of him and Stiles came to terms with his possible bisexuality, he realized that yeah, Lydia Martin was hot. But Derek Hale was hot too. And it was kind of hard to look at either of them without his heart skipping a beat or two, which Stiles figured probably meant something.
But his possible attraction to Derek didnât matter, heâd decided. His sixteen-year-old self was sure that heâd be marrying Lydia Martin one day and with that picture in mind, he could just appreciate Derek for what he wasâ a hot guy.
But then sometime around his junior year, Stiles realized he probably wasnât going to marry Lydia Martin. And that⊠that was fine too.
One year later, he was completely fine with how everything had turned out.Â
By the time the Hale house was fully furnished, the pack spent nearly every afternoon there. It was nice; close by and large enough for them all. And sometimes, when Stiles came through the front door and met Derekâs gaze, he thought he could remember this one strange feeling heâd had the very first time heâd laid eyes on the man. So many years ago.
Or maybe, that one time in the pool. Or the kanima incident at the sheriffâs station nearly three years ago.
Or the first time Derek had come through Stilesâs window looking for research help.
âStiles? Bro, Earth to Stiles.â
Stiles snapped out of his thoughts as an elbow jabbed into his side. Yelping, he glared sideways at the offender; and Scott just grinned innocently back, nodding toward the others.Â
âWeâre all gonna go see a movie tonight. You in?â
âA movie?â
âYeah, man. Theyâre doing replays of Star Wars all weekend.â
Stiles raised an eyebrow. âYou do realize thereâs a TV here, right? One that Isaac literally said was a âlife or deathâ necessity.â
Sitting on the floor across the room, Isaac flushed. âIt is.â
âSoâŠâ
âYeah, but Star Wars,â Scott said. Stiles snorted.
âDude, I literally own all of them. What about a movie night here? Oh, we could even get pizza!â
Scott exchanged a dubious look with Allison, who shrugged. Stiles glanced at Erica, where she was wrapped around Boyd on the couch. The girl hesitated, then cast a dreamy look upward, smacking her lips together. âMovie popcorn easily outweighs boxed pizza, Batman. I vote for the movie theater.â
âI second that,â Jackson said, smirking over at Stiles. Stiles glared at him.
âYou donât get a vote, lizard boy.â
Jackonâs eyes flashed gold. âSay that again, Stilinsksi.â
âOkay, okay, thatâs enough,â Lydia said, giving Stiles a warning look. He just rolled her eyes and the red-haired girl considered for a moment, before shrugging. âI agree with Jackson.â
âUgh,â Stiles groaned. âDonât side with the snake.â
But the decision was already made up, apparently, as Scott jumped to his feet with a grin. âSweet!â he said, pulling Allison up too. âLetâs get out of here then.â
Stiles didnât even have a chance to protest before Erica was snatching the jeepâs keys off the coffee table and taking off toward the door, the holler of âshotgun!â left in the air at her back. Groaning, he ran a hand through his hair and then slowly pushed himself up too.
It was only then that he noticed Derek hadnât moved a muscle from his spot in the furthest corner of the room.
âUh, hey, Sourwolf, you coming?â
Grey-green eyes lifted from his book and Derek gave him an unimpressed look. âNo.â
âWhat? Why not?â
This time, Derekâs brows furrowed. And yeah, Stiles supposed the book and the whole grumpy-growly attitude Derek had going on was probably a pretty telling answer. But he still couldnât squash a strange feeling of disappointment.
âCome on, dude, itâll be fun! Movie popcorn! Iâll even buy.â
To his surprise, the furrow between Derekâs eyes actually seemed to soften a little. Well, maybe it did. Just a little bit. âNo, Stiles. You go.â
That strange feeling of disappointment grew even more. Stiles frowned. âSeriously, dude?â
And just like that, the unimpressed furrow was back again. Along with a flicker of red. âYes, Stiles. Go.â
And yep, that was the Alpha werewolf that used to scare the crap out of Stiles all those years ago. Sighing, he turned away and waved a hand over his shoulder in dismissal. âFine, Sourbutt. But youâre missing out on a good time!â
Stiles didnât get an answer. But he hadnât really expected one.
The house was silent as he left.
-
The weekend before graduation, Lydia had a party.
Stiles had been looking forward to it for weeks. Mostly because, yeah, the last party Lydia had hosted ended up going horribly wrong, but werenât things different now? They hadnât faced a supernatural threat in months and Stiles was finally starting to remember what it felt like to be a normal teenager again.
So, he was pretty excited for Lydiaâs party. And of course, if he had still been in love with her, this would have been the most nerve-wracking night of his life. But Stiles was all good now and he was ready to have fun, do a little dancing, and maybe get a bit drunk if he thought he could get away with it.
He didnât get a little drunk.
Somehow, three hours after arrival, Stiles was pretty sure he was wasted.
Keeping up with the werewolves was hard, he quickly came to realize, even if they laced their drinks with wolfsbane for a little extra kick. One hour in, Scott, Allison, and Isaac were nowhere to be seen. Two hours in, Erica was doing her best to convince Boyd to go around scaring the shit out of other drunks with their flashing eyes. And three hours in, Stiles had no idea where Lydia had gone, but the entire room was spinning so fast, he was pretty sure he was either going to pass out or hurl. Whatever came first.
He didnât actually do either.Â
Instead, somehow, Stiles ended up at the Hale house when the moon was high in the sky. It was dark enough that he could barely see the way to the front door, but that proved not to be a problem when he fell face-first out of his jeep the moment he managed to open the car door.
And shit, his dad was going to kill him if he ever found out about this.
Rolling onto his back, Stiles blinked up at the dark sky and groaned. He was pretty sure getting back up wasnât an option, not unless he wanted to just go right back down. So maybe heâd just die hereâŠ
Except suddenly, a looming figure blocked his view and Stiles shrieked, kicking upward with all his strength. His foot connected with something solid and the figure gruntedâ and Stiles realized much too late what heâd done.
âDammit, Stiles!â
âOh my god,â Stiles said, voice barely a whisper. Half-bent over, Derek glared at him and Stiles mustered his best smile, desperately hoping that would keep him from getting his throat ripped out on the spot. âEr, hey there, Sourwolf. Fancy seeing you here.â
Red flickered through the manâs eyes. Stiles winced and after another long moment, Derek straightened up, giving him a look that held the promise of possible murder.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing, Stiles?â
Stiles blinked at the man. Then he shrugged, shifting a little in the dirt. âResting.â
Derekâs expression tightened. The man leaned over again, sniffed deeply, and then his face twisted. âAre you drunk?â
âOnly a little.â
âDammit, Stiles!â
âOh, please donât âdammit Stilesâ me. I came here so I wouldnât have to hear that exact statement from my dad tonightââ
But suddenly, Derek went rigid, his eyes flashing again. Stiles cut off, looking at the man in fear, and Derek gave him the most terrifying red-eyed look that Stiles had probably ever seen.Â
The man really looked like he could kill someone now. And Stiles was the only person around.
But then when Derek spoke, his words were so calm, so steady, Stiles thought that was even scarier.
âStiles, did you drive here drunk?â
Oh, shit.
Stiles opened his mouthâ then closed it again. Derekâs face was carefully blank now and Stiles was pretty sure if he could actually stand, sober him would be running right now. Because this was scarier than heâd ever seen Derekâ even when the man had been that grumpy-growly âIâll rip your throat outâ asshole when theyâd first met.
But before Stiles could even think of an answer, he was being scooped up. A sputtering noise of surprise left his mouth as Derek all but hauled him over his shoulder and then turned around, starting toward the Hale house.
Stilesâs head pounded. His stomach churned and as he watched the ground just a few feet away from his face, he wondered what would happen if he hurled all over Derekâs back.
As if the man could read his thoughts, Derekâs grip tightened. âDonât you dare.â
Stiles did his best to keep everything down.
The dirt of the front driveway turned into the porch steps, and then the front door slammed as the ground Stiles was looking at became hardwood. Derek hauled him into the living room and dumped him on the couch, making Stiles groan loudly.
âOh my god, dude, my head.â
Derek gave him a look of pure fury. Any more complaints dying on his tongue, Stiles shrank back.
âI mean, never mind. Iâm completely fine.â
âNo, Stiles, youâre not.â Derekâs eyes sparked red. âI canât believe you would do something so stupid. So irresponsible. â
âI⊠what?â
But Derek just shook his head and turned away, stalking from the room. Stiles stared into the darkness for a moment, his thoughts moving slowly, and he totally blamed it on the alcohol. Except, he really just didnât know what to do with what was currently unfolding.
Derek had actually sounded upset. Concerned, even.
Stiles figured he was even drunker than heâd originally thought. In fact, maybe this was all just a spiked-punch induced hallucination. Just like last time Lydia threw a party.
Except, this definitely wasnât a nightmare.
The sound of approaching footsteps pulled Stiles right back out of his thoughts and he blinked in surprise as Derek stepped closer with a trash can, a glass of water, and a white bottle of pills.
âUh,â Stiles said, utterly dumbfounded. Derek scowled at him and he shrank back again.
âYou throw up on my floor,â the man growled. âIâll rip your throat out.â
Wordlessly, Stiles nodded. Derek shoved the glass forward.
âDrink.â
Stiles didnât need to be told twice. He drained the water in a few seconds and Derek set the bottle of pills on the side table, giving Stiles another dark look as he took the empty glass back. âDonât take any of those until morning.â
Again, Stiles nodded. Derek set the trashcan next to the sofa and turned away again, vanishing into the darkness once more.
This time, the silence lasted a little longer. But still, Derek came into the room after a few minutes, another glass of water in hand and a rolled-up blanket tucked under his arm. As Stiles stared, the man set the water next to the pills, then unrolled the blanket and draped it over him.
Stiles felt a little bit like a child.
He honestly didnât know how to react.
Then, finally, finally, Derek stepped back and folded his arms over his chest, surveying the entire scene as if he was satisfied with his work. Stiles stayed stock-still, kind of worried that any sudden movements would mess everything up.
Whatever âeverythingâ was right now.
Catching him staring, Derek glared again. âIâm going back to bed. If you wake me up, Iâll kill you.â
â...Got it.â
The man gave the room one more once-over and then turned away, heading back for the hallway. But before he could vanish into the dark all over again, Stiles sat straight up, internally screeching as the blood rushed to his head.Â
âDerek?â
The broad-shouldered silhouette paused. Stiles swallowed.
âThank you.â
He didnât get a single response. Not even a nod.
Stiles blinked and Derek was gone.
-
Graduation came and went like it wasnât even worth the hype.
Stiles had avoided going back to the Hale house since that night, but it was like it never happened. In fact, if he hadnât woken up to an empty house with a cup of coffee next to the glass of water and pills, Stiles might have believed it hadnât.
But it had, which meant heâd made a complete fool of himself. And as Stiles had dragged himself off the couch and toward the front door, heâd been pretty sure he could never face Derek again. It didnât really help that he could barely remember anything that happened that night, because what if heâd said or done something totally dumb?
Dumber than usual, that is.
So heâd decided to avoid both Derek and the Hale house for as long as possible. Heâd noticed his dad never said anything too, which meant Derek hadnât dropped by to say a word of whatever the hell had happened.
Things were fine. It was all fine.
But then, when they were all hanging out after the graduation ceremony was over, Scott told him they were holding the graduation party at the Hale house.
âOh,â Stiles said, his throat going dry. âOh, thatâs great. Great, great, great, dude. Absolutely great.â
Scott gave him a small look of concern. âAre you okay?â
âOh, yeah, great, Iâm just fantastic,â Stiles said. Then, sighing, he shook his head. âOkay, no, I'm not. Remember that one time I told you Lydia Martin was the only person Iâd ever have feelings for? Like, ever?â
Slowly, Scott nodded. Stiles swallowed hard and rubbed a hand over the back of his neck.
âYeah. I think Iâm in love with Derek.â
In a moment, Scottâs eyes rounded twice their usual size. Stiles winced and almost instantly wished he could take back his words. Especially when Scott nearly shouted his next words.
âYouâre in love with Derek?!â
âOh my god, Scott,â Stiles swore, clapping both hands over Scottâs mouth. But the boy just ducked away and looked at Stiles like heâd grown two heads, mouth opening and closing a few times before he spoke again.
âWhat does that even mean?â
âWell, gee, Scott, I donât know. What does being in love with someone even mean?â
âYou... like him?â
âSeems weâre both coming to that gradual realization, yes.â
âLike, in a good way?â
Stiles stared at the boy. âOkay, please tell me youâre kidding right now.â
But Scott just continued to stare. Then, he glanced around and leaned closer, words hushed as if he was divulging his deepest secret. âDo you mean find him... attractive?â
Stiles pulled a face and gave the boy an incredulous look. âNo, Scott, I donât think werewolves who like to growl a lot and could probably crush me like a bug are attractive. And I definitely donât think Derek is the hottest guy Iâve ever laid eyes on.â
Scott blinked. Then frowned. âOkay, but youâre not lying.â
âNo, Scott, Iâm not!â
If Stiles could go back about five minutes ago, he would probably punch his past self for ever thinking he could tell Scott something like this in public. The boy looked like he was still lost and Stiles mentally prepared himself for more questionsâ before Allison came out of the crowd and linked her arm through Scottâs own, giving Stiles a warm smile.
âHey, the others are heading to Derekâs. You guys ready?â
Scott looked from Stiles, to Allison, then back. Stiles gave him a sharp, warning look, but the boy just winced apologetically and let Allison lead him awayâ with knowledge Stiles never should have provided.
Closing his eyes, Stiles took a few deep breaths and then trudged after the two of them, silently hating himself for every decision heâd ever made.
-
If he wasnât fearing for some kind of inevitable doom, Stiles might have been amazed by how the Hale house looked in the darkness that night.
Okay, that was a lie. He was still amazed.
Lights had been strung through the rafters of the porch and multi-colored garden lanterns were stuck in the ground all around the lawn. Stiles smelled barbeque before he even stepped out of the car and almost instantly zeroed in on his dad behind the grill, looking like he was the happiest person on the planet.
Except, Derek stood beside him, laser-focused on whatever the hell the Sheriff was grilling. And Stiles was pretty sure they were talking.
âOh no,â he whispered.
But before Stiles could rush over and intercept what he could only imagine was not a very promising conversation, there was a hand on his sleeve and he was being pulled across the lawn instead. Stiles spun around, cursing, and nearly stumbled over his own feet to see Erica looking at him with a sharp grin. One that made his blood run cold.
Yeah, this might be worse.
âSo, Stiles, â the girl said, letting go of his sleeve only when they were at the very edge of the lawn, far away from the sound of music. âYouâre in love with our alpha?â
Stiles froze. Then groaned. âI swear to god, Iâm going to kill Scott.â
Erica barked out a laugh. âOh, Batman, your puny little werewolf friend didnât have to tell me a thing.â
Stiles blinked. Ericaâs grin turned sharper.
âYou spent the night here,â she said smugly. âLast weekend.â
âLast weeken... oh my god.â
Crossing her arms, Erica gave him a triumphant look. And Stiles didnât even know where to begin before the girl was speaking again. âSo youâre totally head over heels for Derek then? I mean, clearly you two bangeââ
âWoah, no, stop!â Stiles said, waving his hands through the air. Erica narrowed her eyes but closed her mouth, and Stiles took a deep breath, rubbing a hand over his forehead. âI did not sleep with Derek.â
âUh-huh.â
âI didnât,â he hissed. âIt was after Lydiaâs party and I was drunk. I needed somewhere to crash.â
Erica raised an eyebrow. Stiles sighed.
âI almost passed out in the driveway and then nearly threw up all over him. Trust me, you menace, thatâs about as far away from sleeping with Derek that I can possibly get.â
âOkay, then,â Erica said, studying him. âBut you're definitely in love with him.â
Stiles opened his mouth to protest, then snapped it shut. And the betaâs face lit right back up as she laughed.
âOh, I knew it! I am so going to win this bet.â
âWait, what?â
âI mean, Boyd didnât think it would happen until the end of summer,â Erica continued, completely ignoring him now. âAnd Isaac clearly has his head up his ass because he didnât think it was going to happen at allââ
âHold up,â Stiles said, cutting her off. âWhat are you talking about? What bet?â
Erica straightened. Then, she grinned.
âNothing. No bet.â
âOh, hell no,â Stiles said, shooting a look over his shoulder. Thankfully, no one seemed to have noticed them yet and he was going to get answers out of her before anyone could interrupt. Because if this was another one of the betaâs stupid pranksâ âErica, I swear to god, Iâll skin your little wolfy ass. Talk, now.â
âWell, see, it all started at the beginning of the summerâŠâ
But suddenly, Ericaâs eyes lit up and she trailed off, brushing around him. Protests already rising on his tongue, Stiles spun around after her. Only to freeze.
Derek stood a few feet away, hands behind his back as he glanced between them. Stiles was pretty sure his heart skipped at least two beats.
âOh, alpha of mine,â Erica said, approaching Derek and giving him a sharp grin. âSo good to see you. Also, Iâm gonna go now.â
Derek raised an eyebrow and watched her move around him, head tilting slightly. Then he turned to look toward Stiles, who was starting to feel like he could be sick. âEr, yeah. Hey, Derek.â
âWas I interrupting?â
âAbsolutely not.â
Stiles probably spoke too quickly because Derekâs eyebrows climbed even higher. Flushing, Stiles dropped his gaze and silently cursed himself.Â
âI mean⊠no. You weren't.â
When he finally glanced up again, Derek still didnât look very convinced. Biting down on his tongue, Stiles searched for any other kind of conversation diversion.
âSo. Grilling.â
Derekâs expression turned even more incredulous, though his lips twitched a little. Stiles winced, turned his gaze downward again.
âI saw you and my dad earlier.â
âOh. Yeah." Derek said thoughtfully. As if that wasn't disturbing news. "He offered me a position at the station two weeks ago. Deputy. I thought it was time I gave him an answer.â
Stilesâs head snapped back up so fast, he swore he heard something crack. âWhat?â
Derek slipped his hands into his pockets. âIâm taking it.â
âYouâreâ Iâ what?â
Derek didn't look too bothered by the fact that Stiles was nearly having a heart attack. But Stilesâs head spun and he felt a little bit confused, a little bit shocked, and kind of betrayed all at the same time. Because two weeks ago? That was plenty of time for his dad to at least mention something about possibly hiring Derek Hale.
âNow the house is built, Iâm going to need to do something,â Derek said, studying him. âOver the summer and afterward.â
âWhy?â
The moment the word left Stilesâs mouth, he felt like an idiot. Because, duh, they were all going to be spread out across the state pretty soon. Except for Lydia, of course, who was going multiple states away. But all this time, Stiles had imagined Derek being lonely and isolated in the Hale house when they were goneâŠÂ
And just like that, he felt like an even bigger idiot.
Oh.
Looking at Derek with new eyes, Stiles suddenly remembered the past few months a little bit differently.Â
Derek, working alongside his betas on the new houseâ all amused looks and soft smiles. Then, that one picture on the wall, right next to the lone chair that soon sat right alongside the rest of the furniture; with enough space for the rest of the pack to be right next to him. And even beyond that, the contented silence when they all went off to do their own thing. Like he knew they were going to be back, no matter what.
A lump formed in Stiles's throat and he stared at the man, feeling like an idiot. âYouâre not lonely here."
Derek tilted his head. âNo.â
âItâs home.â
Once more, Derekâs lips twitched. Stiles swallowed hard.Â
âLast weekendâŠâ
âYouâre lucky I hadnât taken the job offer yet.â
Oh.
So, Stiles hadnât made a fool out of himself that night. But maybe heâd been making a fool out of himself long before then, and ever since. Heâd found it so easy to look at Derek Hale and think about all those years ago, like the man was still a part of the past. But maybe Stiles was still the one living back then, not Derek.
âStiles?â
Glancing across the lawn, Stiles watched the others for a moment. Music floated through the air and he didnât see a single person other than him and Derek standing apart from the crowd. And they were all different now, werenât they? Itâd been years.
Stiles took a small breath and glanced back toward the man. They were all different now.
âDo you want to dance?â
Derekâs eyes flickered and after a moment, the man nodded. Hands trembling nervously, Stiles followed him away from the edge of the lawn, back toward the others. Gaze drifting a little ways further, Stiles's stomach flipped to see Erica watching with a wide smirk and a wad of cash in hand.
And then, like the entire world thought this was amusing too, the music slowed.
Stiles froze, looking back at Derek. But the man just raised an eyebrow and Stiles thought that maybe he could die on the spot. Because there was nothing even hot about that look. No, Derek Hale was drop-dead gorgeous and Stiles couldnât believe he was standing literally inches away from the man that he had somehow fallen in love with. And he hadnât even done anything stupid yet.
Then Derek stepped closer, Stilesâs heart stopped, and he promptly tripped over his own feet, spilling right into the man.
Someone barked a mocking laugh to the side; it sounded suspiciously like Jackson. Wincing, Stiles pulled himself back up and slowly met Derekâs gaze again.Â
âSorry.â
âLet me.â
Fingertips brushed against his own and Stilesâs heart hammered against his chest as Derek took his hands. And shit, how many months ago had he been drooling over Derek like a teenager? Grey-green eyes danced in the glowing lights and Stiles remembered Lydiaâs words faintly, flushing a little despite himself.
Give Derek something to drool over.
âYou know, it's kind of unfair,â Stiles mumbled. âThat youâre so freaking hot.â
âOh, really?â
Stiles chewed on his lower lip, trying to avoid Derek's full-on gaze. âYou know. Like, in a âI might be kind of in love with the big bad alpha of Beacon Hillsâ way.â
Derek suddenly paused and Stilesâs throat tightened.Â
âOnly if thatâs okay.â
Beyond them, the music had changed again, turning into something more lively. But Derek still didnât move and Stiles forced himself to meet the manâs eyes once more, trying to expect literally anythingâ he didnât even know what to hope for anymore.
Derekâs brows were furrowed. His expression was a little quiet, a little gentle.
âDerek?â
âItâs about time.â
And Stiles blinked, mouth dropping open. But before he could even say a word, even wrap his mind around what had just been said, Derek was leaning forward and Stiles closed his mouth right back shut as warm lips brushed against his own.
In an instant, some part of his mind screeched. Some part logged off and logged back on again. And one more part replayed that one time heâd run into a wall after Derek had simply growled his name.
Then, Stiles fell right into the kiss and thought what had he even been feeling again?Â
So much.
But when Derek kissed him for the first time that night, the first time since they'd met, all soft and warm with the Hale house lit up behind them and the smell of barbecue in the air, Stiles realized he only felt one thing right now.
Full.
It kind of felt like the future. Kind of felt like home.
-
There was another picture hanging on the living room wall after Stiles went off to college, right next to the one of the Hale family. In it, some eyes glowed kind of creepily, some eyes didn't. Some people were holding each other tightly, some weren't. But they were all side by side, and they were all smiling. Older Derek Hale was smiling, just like all those years ago.
Standing next to him, eyes glowing for completely non-werewolf-related reasons, Stiles Stilinski was too.

A/N: so I kind of mixed and matched prompts for this and it ended up being waaay longer than I expected. But I hope it turned out alright? I adore you both @wolfileâ & @pickosita5stwinâ !

We're not gonna leave you (Ralvez x Fem!Reader)
Summary: Spencer and Luke are about to miss another birthday of yours because they're called on a case. But what happens when they come home in time?
Warnings: talk about unsub, swear words, depressing thoughts, crying, angst, anxiety, fluff towards the end, Luke and Spencer being idiots
Words: 2.3k

It's your birthday and of course you're alone, again, cause the boys were called away on a case 2 days prior and your mood wasn't the best to say the least... It was the 4th birthday you wanted to celebrate while being in the relationship with the boys but also the third one you were alone cause they were called away to catch some crazy killer. You already had a feeling that you would be alone again and it slowly led you to thinking if Luke and Spencer actually wanted to spend your birthday with you and not in another state. Well it was your home state, again. Every year around your birthday they had a case in your home state.
You had woken up to texts from your family, friends, coworkers and your boyfriends coworkers, from everyone but Luke and Spencer. It made you feel even worse, strengthening the thought you already had: they didn't want to be with you on your birthday. Maybe they didn't want to be with you in general anymore. Deep in your heart you knew that it wasn't the truth but right now you couldn't focus on that. It was your birthday and neither of your boyfriends had texted or called like they usually would. It was the first time in your entire life that Luke forgot your birthday. He always made sure to at least leave you a text, telling you how much he loves you and wishing you the best, already planning on what you'd do to celebrate your birthday when he was away. It was like a punch in your face, no, it was worse than that.
But what you didn't know was that your two boyfriends were on their way home to you, knowing how sad you were when they told you that they had another case or better, the same case as the two years before. It was the same unsub all the years and they took her down a day prior. She started to kill around your birthday but never getting her true target, you. Once Luke and Spencer had looked at the pictures of the victims again, it took them only one look at each other before they ran off to their unit chief. Emily was currently talking to a police officer when she saw the two men running towards her. "Woah boys, slow down. What's going on?", she asked while looking at them trying to figure out what was on their mind. "It's Y/N. The unsubs main target is Y/N", Spencer said, a bit out of breath. "What are you talking about?", Emily asked again. Luke only grabbed her hand, walking towards the conference room where the pictures were. "Look at the pictures Emily. Look at them and tell me that they don't look almost exactly like Y/N", Luke said while looking at his unit chief. And in that moment it hit Emily. The men were right, all the victims looked like you, only slight differences in appearance and they were not only in your home state but most of the murders were in your hometown too, leaving no questions that it had something to do with you. She called the rest of the team into the conference room, telling them what was going on. After that new information, Garcia dug a bit in your life to find anyone who would fit the profile. It only took her about an hour of digging through your past until she was able to find someone who could be the unsub. It was your ex best friend. She was always jealous of you. About the friendship you had with Luke, cause surprise she had a huge crush on him, thinking you were taking him away from her. How everyone liked you. Your healthy and happy family. About the fact that you were able to come out as bisexual and everyone excepting you for who you are. But she didn't only have a crush on Luke, she was in love with you too.
Wanting you to be all hers. She wanted your attention and she hoped she would get them from the murders. Garcia soon found her address, immediately calling her colleagues, telling them what she found. As the team began to get ready, Emily stepped in front of Luke and Spencer. "You're not coming with us", she said sternly. "What?! why?! Of course we are going, it's about Y/N!", Luke exclaimed. "Exactly, it's about your girlfriend. Your girlfriend who's again going to be alone on her birthday so yes, you both do get your asses up but only to fly back home to your lover girl with the next flight. We've got this and we're gonna update you as soon as we have news. Got it?", she looked at the men with a raised brow. Luke and Spencer both nodded, taking off their vests, grabbing their stuff, quickly saying goodbye to the rest of the team and driving to the airport, hopping on the next plane, on their way back home to you.
"Do you think she's going to be mad at us?", Spencer asked his boyfriend as they finally found their seats and sat down. Luke shrugged, he really didn't know. "I don't know Spence... I don't know if she's going to be mad at us but I know that she's sad. We definitely need to make it up to her with every little thing we can give", Luke had turned towards the man beside him. Spencer sighed, knowing that Luke was right. They both fucked up, again. It was already hard to make up for last year's birthday but knowing that you thought that they would miss another one, broke both their hearts. It wasn't a long flight ,at least not for them and after 4 hours they were back in Quantico, quickly making their way back to your apartment.
Yeah, maybe the case was a hard one but the other team members found time to text you, even rossi did so and he had never, never texted you before. Ignoring every text and call you got, especially Penelope's, leaving most people on read, you put down all the blinds in your apartment, shutting down any form of light, you just wanted to drown in the dark, letting the bad thoughts take over. So you went into the bathroom and curled up in the bathtub. Yes, the bathtub and not the bed. You felt like any kind of comfort wasn't what you needed right now. So you laid there, slowly opening the drain until the lukewarm water started to drench your clothes. You didn't even notice that you started to cry until you felt a warm tear falling onto your hand. Knowing the tears wouldn't stop any time soon, you just let them run down your cheeks, your body starting to shake as you began to sob. The thoughts finally really set in. Your two boyfriends, the loves of your life, forgot your birthday and probably didn't want to be in a relationship with you anymore.
You were slowly starting to fall asleep in the already cold water, tired from the tears that still streamed down your face and the sobs that wrecked your entire body. But before you were able to completely close your eyes, you heard keys jiggle in the hole of the front door. You couldn't care less, you didn't move one muscle, just accepting the fact that if it was a robber or murderer that this was your time. You didn't have the strength to fight or even open your eyes when you heard footsteps coming your way. "Luke?", Spencer quietly asked the man who stood beside him. Luke hummed in response. "We really fucked up bad this time", Spencer's eyes were starting to get glossy as he heard your sobs. Luke sighed, looking at his boyfriend and then at the open bathroom door. "I know baby, I know", he took Spencer's hand in his, softly rubbing his thumb across the back of his boyfriend's hand, "but we're gonna make it up to her, okay? We're gonna take some days off, going on a vacation, making sure to show her how much we love her and how much she means to us", Luke said quietly as he looked at spencer. The other man nodded, exactly knowing what he meant with the last part, and looked towards the bathroom again. Luke took this chance and slowly walked towards the door, taking Spencer with him.
"Y/N sweetheart?", Luke quietly asked into the dark of the bathroom. You had tried to stop sobbing as soon as you heard the hushed voices of your boyfriends, but they heard them anyway. "Can we come in?", you heard Spencer ask you. You only sniffled, not able to form words in your current state. Luke wordlessly told Spencer to put on the lights in the living room, not overwhelming you with the brightness of the bathroom lights. As soon as Luke was able to lay his eyes on you, his heart broke into a million pieces, the same as Spencer's when he came back to stand beside him. They both took in the sight in front of them. You were laying in the bathtub, wearing one of Luke's shirts and one of Spencer's boxers. Tears brimming in both of their eyes as Luke was the first one to approach you, carefully and slowly kneeling down beside the tub.
Before he turned himself to you, he looked at Spencer once again. "Baby can you go and grab some clean and dry clothes and make us a tea?", he asked him. Spencer nodded slightly before turning on his heels, determined to get you the comfiest clothes he could find before bringing them back to the bathroom and heading towards the kitchen. Once he made his way there he started to boil the water, putting in a tea bag of your favorite teas in your three matching mugs. While Spencer was making you all a cup of tea and preparing some snacks, Luke slowly took one of your hands in his, making you look up at him, a small genuine smile on his face.
He knew that you weren't able to form a word right now so he decided to just ask you "yes or no" questions, making it as easy as possible for you. "Why don't we get you out of the tub, huh sweetheart? Do you think I can drain the water?", his voice as soft as it could be. You nodded, slightly tugging on his hand. You wanted to feel him closer. Knowing what you wanted, Luke pulled out the plug to let the water out of the tub, moving a bit closer, putting both of his big hands on the sides of your face. "We're so sorry bub, we really are. We're gonna explain everything, I promise but now let's get you all dry and in comfy clothes again. Does that sound good?", he asked again. Earning another nod from you as your eyes glanced up at Spencer who was standing in the door, looking at Luke and you with all the love in his eyes.
Luke stood up slowly which caused you to whimper, gripping his hand even more, not wanting to lose his contact. "Shh bub, I'm not going anywhere, I was just standing up so I can help you out okay?" Luke was pulling you up with him so you were standing on your shaking legs, barely able to hold your weight yourself, but luckily Luke was there to hold you. He carefully lifted you out, still holding you when he placed your feet to the floor, nodding his head towards spencer. He walked into the bathroom, carefully removing the cold, wet and heavy clothes from your still shaking figure. As soon as Spencer had you stripped out of your clothes he wrapped a towel around you, carefully drying you up. Both of your boyfriends were whispering small encouragements. Luke always told you what a good girl you are, how much he loves you, how he could never even think about leaving you, telling you that you were the love of his life (of course Spencer too). When it came to Spencer he always rambled about how it wasn't physically possible to love someone as much as he loves the both of you, always rambling small facts about love and your favorite interests.
As soon as you were back in one of Luke's hoodies and one of Spencer's checkered pyjama pants and some fuzzy socks (mismatching as it has to be), the two men led you over to the couch. Spencer had lit up every single candle he found in the apartment, making the living room feel all cozy and not too bright. Once all of you were sitting down, you snuggled up with Luke. "We're really sorry that we weren't here on your last birthday but we can explain it, we really can. It may sound crazy but it's the truth. and of course we didn't forget your birthday sweetheart, as soon as we knew who the unsub was, we took the next flight and came home. We love you with all of our heart and we promise you and we're never going to miss another birthday of yours. We planned on taking some days off, going on vacation, just the three of us. how does that sound bub?", it was Spencer who was speaking this time and instead of a nod, they actually got a real answer. "I-I'd really like that", your voice was just a whisper, still a bit sore from all the crying. Spencer and Luke both smiled as they each kissed one of your cheeks.
This was the moment a small smile was finally creeping its way on your lips. the fact that both your men were home, on your birthday, taking care of you, planning on going on a vacation, was all it took to overshadow the dark thoughts in your mind.

June 17: Chengxian đđ€đ
childhood friends to lovers/QPPs, ace Jiang Cheng, bi & aro Wei Wuxian, modern AU
(A/N: If you're wondering about a certain other someone, he will have a wonderful, full life of his own in Suzhou in this AU but is not in this story. đ There are some brief mentions of offscreen ace-antagonism, not by anyone we know.)
Read on ao3
Jiang Cheng had been Wei Ying's best friend in the whole world for his entire life.
Okay. Well, not quite his entire life, but certainly since Wei Yingâs parents moved to California when he was little little, which was about as far back as Wei Ying could remember anyway. Wei Yingâs baba and Jiang Chengâs baba had grown up in Wuhan together and been best friends when they were kids, so naturally, when Wei Yingâs family moved into the same neighborhood as the Jiangs, it made perfect sense for Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng to become best friends too.
It was Jiang Cheng who had taught Wei Ying that he didn't have to be afraid of dogs, by introducing him to Princess, Jasmine, and Lil' Love. Lil' Love lived up to her name, coming and quietly sitting in all her fluffy glory on Wei Yingâs lap every time he went over to play.
It was also Jiang Cheng who Wei Ying got drunk with for the first time. They snuck booze from the cabinet where Wei Yingâs parents kept it and laughed at the faces each other made with every shot until they stopped tasting the harsh burn, and then laughing more just because.
(Wei Yingâs mom had not laughed, not at the time, when the two teens had been sick as anything the next morning, but instead made them a gloriously greasy late breakfast and gave them lots of advice about proper hydration.
Then she told Jiang Chengâs mom and let her scold them.)
It was Jiang Cheng who came out first, their first semester in college, when he told Wei Ying he didn't think he wanted to have sex with anyone, ever, and asked if Wei Ying thought that meant no one would ever want to date him. Wei Ying hugged him tight and told him he didn't know about everyone out there, but he knew Jiang Cheng was the best guy in the world and would be an awesome boyfriend, and he'd fight anyone who said differently.
Jiang Cheng found a group on campus for third culture LBGT kids, and Wei Ying went with him, as a supportive ally.
Which was how Wei Ying figured out that he was not just a supportive ally.
In listening to the others talk about orientation and identity and attraction and cultural expectations, Wei Ying realized that what he'd always assumed was normalâfinding all kinds of people physically attractive, regardless of their genderâwas actually his bisexuality. So that was kind of cool.
"So yeah, now we can be queer together!" Wei Ying said, when he excitedly shared his newfound realization with Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng snorted. "Yeah, 'all' and 'nothing,'" he joked.
It was Jiang Cheng who'd helped him practice what to say to his parents when he wanted to change his major at the end of sophomore year, and Jiang Cheng who reminded him to eat and sleep and "take a fucking break, Wei Ying," those next couple semesters when he took way too many hours so he wouldn't have to rack up a whole extra year's worth of student loans to finish his new degree plan.
It was Jiang Cheng who graduated first, on a gorgeous blue-skyed sunny day in May, and Jiang Cheng who suggested Wei Ying keep living with him at his new apartment, so he wouldn't have to try to find a one-semester lease until he finished in December.
(They renewed the lease together every time.)
Jiang Cheng ribbed him playfully each time Wei Ying met someone new, but he was always there each times things fizzled out after a few months for reasons that never quite made sense to Wei Ying.
Jiang Cheng occasionally dated too, and Wei Ying was glad he never did have to fight anybodyâthough he did drive Jiang Cheng to the emergency room the time he came home with split knuckles from punching a guy who, "seemed to think I didn't know my own mind about certain things."
But dating sucked for everybody, right? It wasn't like Wei Ying or Jiang Cheng were in any hurry to settle down and do the whole spouse and kids thing or whatever. Wei Ying tried to imagine it and just... couldn't, though the image of Jiang Cheng with a baby was admittedly pretty cute.
~
It was not Jiang Cheng, but Jiang Yanli, a few months after she proposed to her girlfriend and they started planning their wedding, who Wei Ying finally asked, "Yanli-jie, how does a person decide someone else is their person?"
Jiang Yanli looked across the room to where Jiang Cheng was showing her soon-to-be-wife how to put side spin on a billiards ball and smiled. "I think you just know," she said. "You meet someone and you get to know them, spend time together, then one day you realize you love them and want to build the rest of your life with them."
Wei Ying wrinkled his nose. "I dunno if it works that way for me. Just some random person? I've never met anyone I can imagine wanting to live with all the time. Well, besidesâhuh..." he cut off suddenly and darted a look over at Jiang Yanli, who just calmly sipped her drink.
"Have you ever told him that?" she asked, after a moment where Wei Ying reassessed his entire life and dating history. "I think he might appreciate hearing it."
"I... huh. Yanli-jie, you're kinda blowing my mind here," he complained.
"I gathered," she said wryly, before fixing him with a smile that made all the hair on the back of his neck stand up. "Of course, I trust," she told him, "that I do not need to explain to you of all people how very dearly I hold my didi's happiness and well-being."
He swallowed and raised three fingers in the salute he'd used ever since the summer thatâhahâhe and Jiang Cheng had decided as kids that they would make their own oath of brotherhood like the heroes of their favorite show. "I, Wei Ying, swear to you that I would kick my own ass before I did anything to hurt him."
Jiang Yanli leaned over to knock her shoulder against his and nodded. "That's what I thought."
~
Turned out, dating Jiang Cheng didn't suck at all.
It felt easy in a way Wei Yingâs past dates never had, less like trying to keep up with a game whose rules everybody knew except him, more like... well, like spending time with his best friend in the whole world, but on purpose. There was also a tension in the back of Wei Yingâs mind that seemed to have lifted, though he couldn't quite pinpoint what it was that had gone.
It was Jiang Cheng who helped him figure it out.
"I think it's that now I'm able to count on this. On us," he said, when Wei Ying brought it up. "Before, whenever you went out with someone new, I wondered if this would be the time you'd find someone to fall in love with and leave me behind."
"Aww, Chengcheng! I would never!"
Jiang Cheng huffed and rolled his eyes, but his cheeks were pink. "Well, I know that now," he said, a pleased little smile breaking through his attempts at a scowl.
"As long as you're sureâ" Wei Ying began, still getting used to thinking about himself with the word "aromantic." Still a so very sure that Jiang Cheng deserved to be fallen in love with.
"Hey!" Jiang Cheng cut him off. "None of that. I know you. And I know you don't see it this way, but I personally think it's pretty damn romantic that you choose to love me, on purpose."
"I simply have exquisite taste in life partners," Wei Ying sniffed, embarassed the way he always got when Jiang Cheng declared something he'd done "romantic."
"You do," Jiang Cheng agreed. "Someone told me a long time ago I was the best guy in the world and would make an awesome boyfriend, and that he would fight anyone who said differently."
Wei Ying laughed. "That's you and your sister I've promised to kick my own ass if I ever break your heart, then. Guess I'll just have to keep you forever."
"Damn right, you will," Jiang Cheng agreed, grinning smug and happy and breathtakingly beautiful. Wei Ying leaned across the couch to give him a sweet, closed-mouth kissâthe kind Jiang Cheng had shyly admitted he actually did like, a lotâand smiled too, at how lucky he'd gotten to be with his best friend in the whole world for his entire life.

Today's (extremely long!) thread was inspired by this WONDERFUL art of ace Jiang Cheng and bi & aro Wei Ying! Go give Midori some love on Twitter!
I spent a nonzero amount of time googling to double check when various terms and flags came into vogue, so if you're wondering, WWX & JC were in college in the early 2000s, before the ace and aro flags were designed. By the time they get themselves figured out, they can get their cute wristbands.
...which, yes, means these dingdongs spent about a solid decade living together before realizing that was what they wanted to do forever. đ
This also means Jiang Yanli and her unnamed wife here are getting married between when California started recognizing same-sex marriages in 2008 and the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling in 2015! THIS SHIT'S RECENT!!!
Happy Pride, thank you for reading, check out more LGBTQIA+ sweetness on my #PrideMonthSnippets Masterpost!

Lovelessïżœïżœby Alice Oseman
Read time: 5 Days Rating: 4/5
The quote:Â You know why people pair up into couples? Because being a human is fucking terrifying. But it's a hell of a lot easier if you're not doing it alone. â Ellis
In the interest of full disclose this is an almost automatic 5 star book for me. Any book that features an aro/ace protagonist and treats them with respect and dignity will get 5 five stars, any writing plot or character other flaws be damned. The world needs more aro/ace representation where we aren't the best friend or something to be fixed. But even without my usual aro/ace crusading, this likely would have been a 5. The character are individual, realistic and oh so human, the plot is centred on identity and confusion but is written in a manner that it is readable. And it is oh so relatable for an ace (aro? demi? grey? my romantic orientation is up in the air) who found out well after school what they were. The anger, confusion, sense of overwhelm, and the bizarre sense of mourning due to the loss of what was impressed on you as the normal. One of the best phrases in the book may be "Says who? The Hetronormative rulebook? Fuck that Georgia Fuck that." and you know what amen to that Rooney. The ending is satisfying but still open as is only right for something written for this demographic. This isn't the end of their story it is only the start.
It is worth saying that for those of us who are ace and comfortable with their identity are aware very early on what is going on with Georgia. Georgia is an anxious, touch averse Ace who is trying to force herself to be "normal". With an extended family of almost perfect hetronormative ideal relationships, met early married had kids that have been subconsciously impressed on her as the future and expected of her. Combined with her love of fanfiction it had to be her to the idea that there is the perfect person for everyone. As stated in the intro to this review Georgia is very realistic in her reactions to her newly discovered identity. Confusion, anger, mourning, insecurity. I personally felt all of these and I know others in the community did as well to varying degrees. Georgia does have a conversation with the wonderful Ellis, an ace in her 30s who had to discover her identity and learn her way on her own. Moments leading up that earn this a trigger warning for something that may or may not be alluding to conversion therapy, either way, it is slightly distressing. Ellis is a beautiful woman and a great inclusion. She is a successful woman, making her own way and living her life regardless of what others think.
A moment on the character who for me is the absolute stand out. Sunil is Georgia's College parent, they end up being a something of fairy godace for Georgia. They would hate that term, but it's so fitting for me. Sunil is a homoromantic nonbinary ace with the preferred pronouns they/him (Georgia/ Oseman use him never they), he is the one who introduces the term asexual to Georgia and tells her the potential of it. I really like him, he makes me smile. No one in an Alice Oseman book is two dimensional in their identity (racial, romantic or sexual), Sunil is no exception. He is handled well with the respect of an only slightly older figure, one who is still not entirely set on their feet. And while Georgia is cis white as well as being an enby Sunil is of Indian descent.
The other supporting characters are Rooney, Pip and Jason. Rooney is Georgia's Shakespeare obsessed roommate. They meet on the first day of university and are total opposites. I like their relationship. It's non-traditional but love in a way I want to see more of. Georgia is loyal despite all of Rooney's actions. Pip and Jason are Georgia's best friends. Pip is chaos, Georgia is silent and Jason is clam. They are something of an odd combination but it works well. Jason and his love of Scooby-Doo is both funny and cute. They are all individual and that there is some conflict between them is a good thing.
This is relatable for aces in a similar way to I Was Born For This was relatable for fandom. I would say that if you enjoyed I Was Born For This for its fandom aspects you will enjoy this, even more, fandom specifically fanfic is part of Georgia and her romantic education such as it is. Georgia (, Sunil and Ellis) face misunderstandings about their sexuality. Those phrase aces hear and hate. Sunil's is particularly important they face bigotry from other members of the LBGTQ community, where it is called a made-up sexuality. Georgia gets the 'you'll find the right person', 'have you tried...', 'what about when you are older'. We've all heard them and I could hear the tone. Some of the statements are apologised for others are not, the ones that are are important and say a lot about the importance and development of the character.
A random dump because concise reviews are not possible for Alice Oseman books.
Tommy ending up in the fire is funnier than it should be. I see all kinds of unwarranted metaphors.
Fried Egg is the cutest nickname that would make no sense to anyone but the participating people involved.
Kinsey Scale Test is something hadn't heard of but yeah that is a result a questioning person doesn't want to see.
QUILTBAG is an acronym I had never heard in the LGBTQ community. It's not new, I found it in a 2012 article, where I found this definition it is a good article. "It stands for QU is for queer and questioning, I for intersex, L for Lesbian, T for transgender and transsexual and Two-Spirit, B for bisexual, A for asexual and ally, and G for gay and genderqueer. Even with all those letters, weâve missed some of the possibilities (such as pansexual and fluid, both of which are identities Iâve heard people claim), but QUILTBAG still offers a rainbow of different ways to identify. Itâs also a lot easier to say than LGBTQIA (which is what I started using after I realized how exclusive LGBT and queer were)."
Am I the only one who doesn't know what the Bailey Ball is? They aren't an Australian thing. Well, that and I studied uni by distance.
Rooney and Ellis make some brilliant points about friendship and its importance to aces. The way it is made lesser than romantic relationships in general.
Apparently all the Oseman books are set in a common universe, the easiest evidence of this in Loveless is in the reference to Universe City from Radio Silence.
Roderick the plant as a metaphor was smart. I quite liked it.
This is a really quotable book there are fantastic quotes about love, friendship and maturity.
As an aside. The protagonist brings up her love of fanfic early in the book. There is there are precious little aspec fanfics out there. Mostly one would suspect because sex makes the tv industry go-round (see Shadowhunter and Riverdale for their treatment of originally aroace characters). As Clotpolesonly wrote in reply to me "aspec AUs are practically unicorns, they're so rare in fandom". One fandom that does have fanfics for them is Teen Wolf. Derek Hale can easily be read as an aspec (usually closer to the demi or grey part of the spectrum). So even if you don't know the show have a fic rec Magic and Drag Queens and Lizards, Oh My by clotpolesonly. Also That's When I Knew by Stennerd, this is for the 911 fandom pairing is Buddie, demisexual. There are I know more but not nearly as many as there are for some others.

A Little LOKI Theory Post
*SPOILERS FOR LOKI E1-3 BELOW CUT*
I am loathe to admit that I love the new LOKI TV series, mainly because of the Mobius/Loki dynamic, the interesting sci-fi plot, and just... I so far surprisingly like every episode. This was the show I had such low expectations for, because I didnât really like LOKI â I felt he was the Moriarty of the MCU, overused when they didnât need him, and making me annoyed by an actor I love.
EXCEPT Iâm also a sucker for character-driven, psychoanalysis stories, like all these D+ Marvel shows are, and itâs leaving me super shocked about me liking characters I didnât before. Iâm fully invested in all these characters now.
I think the only reasom I really wanted to see this show for was because it ties directly into the next Dr. Strange movie, so YEAH, Iâm in love multiverse and time travel things, so it was inevitable that I would enjoy this show, I think.
AND of course, Iâve theories and speculations because thereâs a lot to work with, and I LOVE stories like these, so I decided I would take some time out and stretch out my meta-writing grey cells. And I wanted somewhere to have my theories/ideas written out before they come to fruition, because DAMNIT I have headcanons and hopes and dreams.
So here we go, spoilers below cut. Please note I know nothing about the comics aside from what other theorists and reviewers have mentioned:
The TVA are âthe bad guysâ but I think it goes deeper than that... Like the whole Timekeeper thing is really sus. I think itâs only one Timekeeper, who is Kang the Conqueror, who maintains the Sacred Timeline to ensure that he stays in power to PREVENT the Multiverse War which I think he knows happened to stop him. I also think Renslayer is behind all of this suspicious thing; I learned that in the comics Renslayer is a love interest for Kang, so like........... SUS.
AND I think Multiverse War they talked about in the beginning of the show IS the Multiverse War theyâre ABOUT TO HAVE. This is a show about non-linear time, and thereâs hints about multiverses in the next Spiderman, and Dr Strange is LITERALLY called âMultiverse of Madnessâ. Wild Theory: Maybe Doctor Strange IS one of the Time Keepers following the Multiverse War.
Loki initially wants to learn the enchanting that Sylvie does for his own selfish gain, and I think he was lying about breaking the TempPad so he would force her to open up. HOWEVER, I think he had a sudden change of heart after learning about the TVAâs Variant Staff; we already see him sort of fond of both Mobius and remembers Caseyâs name, so I feel like that he will end up using this knowledge he gained very differently.
Further on this point, they established in Ep 3 that TVA agents / staff need actual real memories to âmanipulateâ them. So, I think Loki will use this power he learned from Sylvie (I mean, she explained to him how to do it, and this show is really good at using the âChekovâs gunsâ given to us) to bring Mobius to âhis sideâ, and TOGETHER they take down the TVA and make it what it should be. Mobius is very dedicated to the TVA, so I really do forsee that it will be Loki âfreeingâ Mobius as the catalyst to swaying to siding with Loki until the end. Heâs a good man with a big heart for humanity, so I think he will totally side with freeing everyone else.
On that note, I think the reason Mobius is fascinated with the nineties is because heâs a variant jetskiier pulled from the nineties. I suspect in his original timeline he probably had a jetski accident and died, but in the Variant timeline, he survived, and out of pity I think Renslayer âsavedâ him and recruited him. The TVA wiped his memories after he couldnât cope with the fact that he was SUPPOSED to die.
ALSO still on Mobius, I think every time he keeps questioning too much, he gets his memory wiped, which would explain why he never remembers leaving the cup stains on Renslayerâs table.
I think thereâs more to Miss Minutes than meets the eye. Another theory I had was that she was similar to VIKI in iRobot, essentially running the company to her programmed âlawsâ after the TimeKeepers passed on. So like thereâs no TimeKeepers at all, but there was at one time, and Miss Minutes was left to her own devices.
Another theory similar to this, is the Doctor Who episode, The Long Game, where everyone wants to be promoted to âFloor 500âł because itâs rumoured to be a paradise and is the top floor no one has ever returned from; It turns out itâs run by an alien that feeds on the human or something similar, and the people who went to the top floor ended up frozen husks of who they were. Not saying itâs this exact thing, but more the idea that everyone thinks whatâs upstairs is a magical wonderful benevolent corporation looking out for whatâs best for everyone, but instead itâs one evil thing doing stuff for their own purpose. Eh.
Another rogue theory: Mobius IS a Loki variant, which is why heâs obsessed with Loki himself, knows Loki better than Loki knows himself, and either knows and omitted it, or DOESNâT know but naturally is intrigued by the Loki Variant and him always finding out the truth is WHY his memory keeps getting wiped, and why everyone is always squeamish about having a Loki around. Mobius mentioned that Loki is the one Variant they have stopped more Lokis than any other Variant....
On that thought: IF Lokis are the most common Variant they capture, I think a LOT of the TVA are Loki Variants, trapped in the forms they were presenting as when they were brought in, and because magic doesnât work in the TVA, they CANâT turn off the glamour, had their memories wiped, and in turn could now be Codenamed Casey, or Mobius, or B15........ An abstract theory, but I think itâs interesting.
And another, since I learned that it is in the comics: Mobius is a clone drone. This one saddens me and I really hope heâs not. Because I love Mobius.
I think Sylvie was a Variant who worked for the TVA, but somehow had an awakening and wants to free everyone else... the only thing against this theory is her seeming surprised that her magic stopped working when she arrived at the TVA. If she was an agent, she would know that magic doesnât work within the TVA.
And I think this series will inevitably â if the rumours of a Season 2 are true â have the Mobius / Loki dynamic solving Time Crimes... a.... Holmes and Watson if you will. :D HAHHA.
So yeah. This list will change obviously for the next 3 weeks, and I had a lot of fun with this so I will probably keep it up.
Some things I hope happen by the end:
A giant âprobably not going to happen because this is Disneyâ: I hope they pay-off the âbisexualâ confirmation by the end of this... highkey with Mobius (damn it I ship them okay), but lowkey just even a passing remark about anyone LOL. I really ship Lokius, okay. I need this dynamic in the MCU
PLEASE DONâT KILL CASEY, we love Casey. #FREECASEY
Iâll be really honest here, I will effing GROAN and be a not-happy Steph if they do the ship that I think theyâre gonna do: Sylvie x Loki. Which is weird to me that Disney would be okay with self-love, but the OBVIOUS initial dynamic of Loki x Mobius is too much, âlook we gave you bisexual Loki, arenât you happy enough??â Just. I dunno. Itâs weird / a pet peeve of mine that a lot of online reviewers are bitching about âwokeâ Disney the one time they ACTUALLY FINALLY let a title character say theyâre queer, but are all âUWU SYLVIE AND LOKI ARE GONNA GET TOGETHER BECAUSE LOKI LOVES HIMSELF UWUâ. Even though Loki spent legit more screen time with Mobius, and literally did everything he told Sylvie that he wouldnât do around people he doesnât trust around Mobius ALREADY?? Itâs like they already forgot about the first two eps. LEGIT the whole dagger=love metaphor LITERALLY happened in the previous two episodes, but alright chiefs. Anyway. Sorry, itâs stupid to be bothered by it.Â
Weâre gonna get that heart wrench moment that the other two shows had, and I TRULY BELIEVE itâs gonna be between Loki and Mobius when Loki tells / shows Mobius the truth. LOOK I JUST WANT MORE OF THEM OKAY. And I need my heart ripping moment in this show within the next two eps LOL. We got one in WandaVision. We got one in FATWS. GIVE ME ONE IN LOKI. MAKE ME LIKE LOKI.
Anyway, so thatâs my rambling. Thanks for taking time out to read all this. I miss theorizing, and this show is perfect for me to do it. Iâm not AS good at these shows as I was with Sherlock, but itâs still fun, because itâs new and my brain is full of headcanons and idea things. Iâll write again after Ep 4, I think. <3 Thank you lovelies for letting me do this!
