“oh my, 'milo!!” you shouted, as camilo crazily spun you around at the very crowded party at the somewhat newly built casita.

“hold on, mi placer, here’s a big one!” the curly haired colombian roared as he dipped you as the two of you danced together.

“'milo..” you whispered in his ear, catching his attention.

“yes, amor?” he cooed gently, softening his light tone as he cup your cheeks, worrying that something may be wrong.

“i just wanna get out for a bit, can we go for a small walk?”

“of course, anything for you, mi querido amor”

the two of you venture outside of the casita’s walls, as you finally make it into the town, fingers intertwined and locked in, camilo stops and turns to face you.

but he realizes, your not at his eye level anymore…

he looks up at your eyes, the ones he fell in love with not too long ago, and smiled.

“i love it when you wear heels, mi sol.” camilo said, leaving sloppy kisses on your jawline.

“is that so?” you ask with a furrowed brow and chuckle.

“it’s certain, and do you know what else is certain?”

“what?”

Little Ways

Summary: Camilo has always liked Y/N but doesn't have the courage to confess his love, instead he shows it in little ways.

Ever since Camilo met Y/N he couldn't stop thinking about their future together. His love for Y/N started like a seed that bloomed into a beautiful flower. He’s Camilo Madrigal, a playful, cheerful, outgoing, and confident person but when he sees Y/N his knees tremble. His family caught his action and knows what's going on with him. Silently teasing him whenever you are around him.

It all started when he saw you walking into the Casita with Antonio and your brother, Leo. Antonio and Leo shared an intimate interest in animals leading them to create a friendship. You were bored that time and your mother assigned you to look after Leo as he didn't trust your brother. He’s a naughty child and your mother is afraid that he might get into trouble with the Madrigals or break something important. You didn't mind it tho since you love babysitting children. 

Pepa had a rainbow above her head when he saw Leo with Antonio. Her hands are on her chest looking at her youngest son lovingly. Antonio is a shy and quiet kid and doesn't like going out. Seeing her son make a friend with someone makes her heart pound. You notice the rainbow and your eyes land on Pepa. You waved your hand as a way of saying hello and nudged Leo to do the same. Pepa smiled at the both of you as you all went to Antonio’s room.

Hours passed and it was Dinner time. All of you didn't notice the time as you were all having a great time. Playing hide and seek and petting the animals. Antonio started to love you and you’re now considered his friend. When Abuela shouted that it was time for Dinner, Antonio dragged the both of you. Leo laughed loudly as the Stairs became flat. All of you slid down and stumbled.

Pepa already knew you as your parents are farmers, and sometimes you would go with them to deliver fruits and vegetables. The Madrigals love your crops. As you reached the ground floor you grabbed Leo and bid goodbye to them. Leo’s glaring as you gave him the look. 

“You’re already going?” Pepa asked. Clouds formed above her head. You scratched the back of your neck and said to her that you were glad that you and your brother were welcome to the Casita but it was getting late and you needed to go home. Pepa insisted as he look at Antonio that started to have glossy eyes and was on the verge of tears. “Why don't you join us for dinner before you go home? I'm sure your parents won't mind right, Leo?” 

Leo nodded as he looked at Antonio. Both of them gave you puppy eyes and it's your weakness so you just agreed. Pepa also wants to get to know Leo more. Casita gave both of you a seat. You sat beside Dolores and your brother. Camilo’s across from you.

As you all started eating, Camilo saw how you take care of your brother. From wiping the food beside his mouth to slicing the meat for him. Camilo’s lucky that you didn't notice that he’s been staring for so long but is also unlucky because Dolores and Isabella did.

“Just took a picture, Camilo.” Isabela teased. Camilo choked on his food, shape-shifting from you and to Isabela then back to himself. All the Madrigals were staring at him. Dolores and Isabela try their best not to laugh at the boy. 

“Camilo, don't play games on the table.” his father scolded him. You and Camilo’s eyes met but he eventually cut it off as he noticed his cheeks turned into a bright shade of pink. Dolores kicks his foot under the table and teasingly raises both of her eyebrows.

When you and Leo got up to leave, he also got up but sat back again when his family started to look at him. His original plan was to escort you outside, but he got caught and realized he was being obvious. Eventually, they all find out what's happening with him and gave him a teasing look. You thanked them for having dinner and bid goodbyes. As soon as you leave the house the teasing begins.

As the day passed Leo and Antonio spent time together. This means he sees you often. That's when the friendship began. He found you interesting. He sees how you care for your family, especially your mother. As a mama’s boy, his heart pounds.

What he loves more about you is that you never judge him and love his pranks even if it's horrible. Some people are sensitive. He loves that you don't overreact to small things. Whenever he had a problem or was just really feeling down, you focused on him and comforted him. You are the reason why he always sleeps late as he can't stop thinking about you. On how your eyes brightened his days and how your dress swayed whenever you and he were dancing. You're just perfect. Sometimes he even wishes that you meant those words you said whenever you and he flirt jokingly…cause he means those words and pet names. 

However, he didn't know how to show his love for you. Whenever he tried to say it, he just stuttered. He's nervous and wrecked. He didn't want to that both of you built. Especially since his brother and your brother are friends, if you reject him, things would be very awkward for the both of you. He’s afraid that he would not only ruin the friendship you both have but also Antonio and Leo. If confessing his feelings for you would ruin your friendship, might as well keep it. 

So instead of telling you what he felt, he shows it. From taking the blame when you get yourself in trouble, massaging your shoulders when you complain you’re tired from your chores, telling you to compare hands just so he could feel your touch, catching your tears with his fingers and wiping them away, helping you with your chores even tho he had one, bringing you some food

Whenever there was a celebration or fiesta being held in Encanto, the Madrigals were often invited. Mostly it's because they're one of the most powerful families in the entire town but instead, it's because they were incredibly lovely and good company. The Madrigals are known to be extremely bubbly and kindhearted so there wouldn't be a reason why someone would not invite them in the first place.

However, there is one particular member of the Madrigals that would consistently remain in everyone's memory. Aside from the eye-catching yellow ruana that he's often wearing and his dashingly charming presence and looks, the Madrigal is famously known to have a huge appetite. Especially during events that offered a ton of food.

Enter Camilo Madrigal, the second child of Pepa and Félix Madrigal, and one of Alma Madrigal's beloved grandchildren. Gifted with shapeshifting, Camilo wasn't easy to miss in Encanto. He's always helping around town whether it would be assisting townsfolk or playing with the children, he'd always have a helping hand. The locals found the boy extremely cheerful and endearing, Camilo frequently put on a dramatic show with his shapeshifting abilities. His family remarked that he was a natural-born performer.

Being a natural-born performer came with many perks, one of which was having a line of suitors and admirers. It was no denying that Camilo struck the hearts of many in Encanto, one could possibly find it hard not to fall for the Madrigal. Although despite having a hundred others waiting in line, Camilo only fell for one person.

It was one of the Madrigals' fiesta, of course, everyone was welcome to attend. There was music blaring and people dancing, others were talking, and the remaining went to get a bite to eat. Camilo was in the last category. His tía Julieta made sure to cook more than needed for people who had strong appetites like him. As he happily loaded his plate with seconds of food while his mouth watered, he happened to catch someone walking by.

And for the first time, Camilo stopped drooling over the food to look who it was.

It happened so quickly. His eyes meet [Eye Color] ones, his jaw went slack, and the beating of his heart went miles per second. It was you walking by with a generous amount of food on your plate, but he didn't pay attention to it. He was distracted by the way you were giving him a toothy smile.

"Coming back for seconds or should I say thirds?"

You mused at him. Camilo gulped, his face felt so tingly and warm but he knew what this feeling was. He chuckled and ran a hand on the nape of his neck.

"Being everyone's favorite performer sure does make me hungry"

"I figured. I'm [Name] [Surname] by the way"

"Camilo Madrigal"

Camilo confidently went in to grab your hand and kiss it. All of a sudden, he shapeshifts into you as if it would impress you. With a laugh, you grabbed his hand.

"Everyone knows the shapeshifter but I'm dying to know who he is beyond it"

"Then be my guest, amor"

It was that fateful fiesta that the two of you fell for each other. Camilo felt lucky to have met someone who appreciated him for him and not just his shapeshifting gift. After a couple of dates and dinner with both of your families, you and Camilo became official.

You and he became the constant talk of the town, both negative and positive. Not that it bothered you, all it mattered was that you were in love with Camilo. And Camilo cared less what the locals would say about you and him, he only focused on you.

The Madrigals have discovered something new about the shapeshifter after he started dating you. Not only does he go for seconds with food but with kisses from you. Dolores was the first to see it. Her brother was giggling with his lover after they gave him a kiss.

"Can I have another kiss, mi amor?"

He asked and you leaned in to give him another, he was giggling all over that it made Dolores roll her eyes and hide a chuckle. Mirabel also witnessed the act, she practically saw you and Camilo making out two times. Safe to say she almost gagged. Lastly, Bruno happened to walk in Camilo begging for second smooches in the kitchen.

"¡Por favor mi querida! Just one kiss"

"Mayber later, Camilo. Oh, hi Bruno"

"...Uh, I'll just head out and clean my rats"

Camilo was obviously the PDA type and you love him enough to grant his wishes for second kisses but you have the modesty to hold back, especially when there are a lot of people present.

On this particular day, Camilo was busy with his chores so he hadn't made any time to see you. But after diligently finishing all of his duties, he literally sprinted to your house to see you. The moment he knocked on the door and you opened it, he threw himself into your arms.

"¡Te he echado tanto de menos, [Name]!"

"It's been only hours but it feels like you're seeing me after a century"

"It felt like it"

You only laughed at your boyfriend's dramatic antics as you invited him inside. The two of you hang out in your room, talking and cuddling. Camilo was busy telling you random stories about his day as you contentedly listened to him blabbering. After that, Camilo started giving you that look. He was giving you puppy dog eyes and a pout.

"[Name]?"

"Yes, my darling?"

Camilo giggled and puckered his lips and you knew what he wants. You shake your head and lean in to give him a small kiss on the lips. His mood bursts with energy after you kissed him. Suddenly, your parents call for you downstairs and you had to pause the cuddling session. Camilo followed you down the stairs as you were instructed to do some quick chores. The shapeshifter followed you around the house like a lost puppy until he gave you that look again.

"Not now, Camilo"

"Pleaaaase?"

"Later, after I finish my chores"

The boy didn't quit following you all over the place nor dropping that pouty look. As you finished your chores, Camilo excitedly bounced over to you with gleaming eyes. You put your hand on your hip and shook your head.

"You really won't stop until you get second smooches?"

"Never. I'll follow you to the end of the world if it means I get my second smooches"

"Ay, you're so stubborn, Camilo"

With that, you grant him his second smooches and he literally jumps all over the place, honestly, you wouldn't get tired of giving him a second round of kissing if it means seeing him this happy and adorable.

Some ideas I had for La Madre Silenciosa

Dolores heard everything from gossip, to cheaters, and abusers. 

She’s always heard abusers whether they were an abusive sibling, spouse, or parent.

 Dolores would cry herself to sleep knowing there were so many people in Encanto who needed help but Alma nor any adult would listen. Mirabel was the last straw, she heard Mirabel crying alone in her room one night a few weeks after her ceremony. She was crying every night, but Dolores didn’t know what to do.

After some long consideration, Dolores took it upon herself to start caring for Mirabel. Pepa was sometimes too tired to play with Camilo so Dolores would take it upon herself to care for him too. Felix had a little more energy so he could watch him from time to time. But it still wasn't often.

So, Dolores started caring for her two kids at precisely 12 years old. It wasn’t hard, Tía Julieta and Tio Agustín were too busy/tired and same for her parents. Alma did take notice and would be a little confused by how much Mirabel spent time with Dolores but never said anything.

When out in public Mirabel would stick close to Camilo, “She’s helping me with my show/ she’s helping me make people laugh” he would say if anyone even TRIED to open their mouth.  

Also, if anyone tries to verbally or physically hurt Mirabel, he has to help her in some way. Dolores told him that he is Mirabel’s older primano and that he has to look after her if she isn’t around. Yeah, he would get in trouble, but he didn’t care, as long as Mira was ok, he was happy.

By the time Antonio came along she was seventeen, and of course, she took him in.

Now when it comes to hiding abused people/kids I'm not sure how it would work. I think at first, Dolores asked Casita to make her room a little bigger and took people in over time.

The ages of people she takes care of range from 5-20+. These are just some ideas, you can tweak them of course.

I was thinking that Dolores kinda grew up to be a takecarer of the Encanto children who most likely either get treated bad by their parents or guardian. She’s either a big sister or a mother to a lot of the children, most of the children she has basically grew up with her and they eventually started to call her mother or big sister, most of the older children often help her take care of the others as if like a family, including camilo, Mirabel and Antonio! Camilo and mirabel kind of became a Tia or Tio too in the process.

And if there were any abuse to poeple who are way older then her, she made sure to report them to the police. She did try to do the same with the children but often got rejected because they thought she was just lying or ruining peoples lives so she stopped trying with the children.

The other family members had some suspicions about some stuff but rather brush it off. Isabela and Luisa are always watching though.

I also like to think that when Dolores was 18 she got together with Mariano! Who has also become a big part of the little (rather big) family! He’s like a father figure to most of them, many call him “papa” or “big brother” too! But their favorite word to call him is “gentle giant” all of them knew though that everyone’s favorite was Dolores.

Now I think that casita would have made an extra apartment like room for the little family, it’s somewhere in Dolores room (where it’s most likely hidden) and that casita often helps them take care of the family, such as providing food, making sure they are all comfortable or not left out, and definitely that none of the little ones escape into the house. They love to call casita “Tia casita” or “Tita” for short. There is door in the backyard that also leads into the room so it’s often easier to acces too! (Which ofc, is also hidden!)

Dolores loves to take care of these people, and if she ever felt ill or bad, they always made sure to check on her too :D!
