while she’s one of the main characters (i mean, she literally appears on the app itself as the “mascot”) we BARELY know anything about her in terms of backstory. which. really sucks ngl </3

in contrast, we know a RIDICULOUS amount of dan heng’s backstory through xianzhou story quest alone. and i heard that, according to leaks, more will be revealed about him. which is great! it makes my dan heng heart soar!

but as a march fan… it kinda saddens me bc we still don’t know anything about her past and. Neither does she. and that kinda sucks, yknow?

we know more about fucking blade and firefly. and while those characters are great they’re not. The main characters of the story?? like. they’re not who we’re focusing on. or should be

Older women telling you that you have to learn the truth about the world and that you can never have your old life back (Kate Mckinnon's Barbie) despite it being the only thing you yearn for, but also older women being a bright spot and support (the old woman on the bench) in the endless slough of life.

He’s much greater than they are, to the point that he knows all their secrets and yet they had the gall to pity him. Disgusting worms, the lot of them. 

And yet you, the Heir to the Arrington Estate… you were the only one who showed him genuine compassion. It surprised him – most nobles are self serving (him included) and care very little for others. Yet you care. Perhaps a little too much, really. But it’s nice, he won’t deny that. Being acknowledged, praised, for his intellect. Being shown compassion for his “plight.” Being shown the kindness in those lovely eyes of yours. 

Oh, Elliot just adores it all. Your attention, your kindness, your praise – he desires it all.

So, of course Elliot offers to be your personal lawyer. You’re kind, but perhaps a little too kind for your own good when, really, you only need to show kindness to him. Besides, your… Father, is a piece of work. You’d be much better as the Head of the Arrington Estate, so of course Elliot needs to be there so that he can ensure your position and safeguard it from your greedy relatives.

Oh, yes, you need him. You definitely, most certainly do.

Just like he needs you.

Omg I know hoyo is colorist as shit, and i’m obviously not defending their skin tone choices, but can we talk about some of the other cool details?? In the new teaser they talk about this Tournament thing while they toss around a small ball, and from what I can tell it’s a reference to a 3500 year old mayan sport called pokolpok (or tlachtli in aztec).

It’s said to be football’s precedent for being one of the oldest team sports recorded. It got spread throughout the entire precolumbian mesoamerica, around every culture in the region. The mayan played this sport because it was like a play on the history of their universe: Two twin gods descended to hell to play this game against demons, their purpose was to collect bones to create a new human race. Said twins won and with the bones Mayans were created.

I don’t know if that story will have any relevance to the Natlan archon quest, but I think it’s especially cool because it reminded me of the constant topic we have in the game around twins. Idk smth smth about the twins and the theory that Teyvat is hell and the archons are demons smth smth

I think references like these are extremely cool and it’s important to remember that skin color is not the only form of representation (Again, i’m not defending hoyo).
