(Not sure how to describe this) like if im looking at something and look away i still see it, kind of like if you stare at a light and look away you still see it. (This is called Palinospia and can come with Virtual snow syndrome) Virtual snow syndrome is more common in males and is also more common in people with Anxiety, ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, Depression, Dyslexia, Fibromyalgia, a history of hallucinogenic drug use, Migraine with aura, Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, Tinnitus, or a traumatic brain injury (TBI) It also can cause light sensitivity, kaleidoscope vision, and photopsia. The nerve cells in the brains of people with visual snow syndrome may be too responsive to visual stimuli. These very sensitive nerve cells mistakenly send signals to the brain. The brain interprets them as real images. I have asd and visual snow syndrome, if you have visual snow syndrome im curious do you have any of the things its common in, and which symptoms do you have?

for me, im just attracted to objects (mainly machines) in the same way im attracted to women. i love curves and breasts. i love wires and hydraulics. like if u think the woman on the right is just as pretty as the woman on the left

for me, objectum is less a kink and more a sexuality. but for some people is it more a kink (you might also want to look into objectophilia!)

i find the curve of a lamborghini's chassis attractive. the power and strength in a large hydraulics system is sexy. an old-fashioned semi truck is handsome. a PC is cute. (or sexy, if it has a glass side... letting you see all up inside them...)

i also, am a bit like a bird. bright colors woo me. humans only come in varying shades of black, brown, tan, and peach. which are lovely, but sometimes i need a gorgeous warm yellow, or a smooth deep blue.

i also like the variety among inanimate objects. what makes each of them purr with delight? what special little traits does each have? nothing will ever be a VHS to me. i love their little clicks and clacks, the sounds they make when rewinding. a computer's fans spin hotter when they're thinking too hard. even more specific than types of objects, each model of computer has their own specific curve, size, weight. (and so on with other types of objects.)

and then, of course, i have to talk about my autism & hyper-empathy. objectum is a common sexuality among autistic people, which is probably linked to our hyper-empathy and tendency to anthropomorphize inanimate objects. not anthro like a furry; anthro like giving human emotions and personality traits to objects. like when your plushie falls off the bed and you feel bad because you dont want them to think you dont love them. except some of us kind of take it to the next level, and i think thats where objectum becomes more common among us. even with objects im not attracted to, i have a tendency to interpret them as having personalities, genders, feelings, etc. sometimes i interpret them as having specific feelings towards me. like my grandpa's car, which im intimidated by, and i feel like she doesnt like me very much. this is probably because she's an expensive sports car. sports cars are scary.

anyways--you can be objectum without being autistic, its just more common among us!

Yeah, I wont be too in depth about this because I don't feel good at the moment so my brain fog is crazy.. but basically a lot of my association to Ted and being autistic is me seeing a lot of myself in him (but there is In comic ""evidence"" too). I also think Ted in general has a lot of comorbid symptoms and traits with other things like ocd, adhd, etc BUT considering thats the case for MOST autistic people it just adds to my opinion.

I'm just, going to focus on things other than the fact he's a literal super genius with the ability to invent on the spot and mid battles, because I feel as though that's probably one of the easier things to point out and everyone knows that.

There comes a point where like, traits overlap with Ted having just come out of a coma and recent brain damage but I think they didn't just appear after that and he says himself he just has always preferred doing things certain ways I feel like it can be a mixture of both. for example Ted canonically seems to have some form of light sensitivity or at the very least a preference for the dark.

Bringing forth one of my favorite traits Ted has, he usually has the lights OFF in his workshop WHILE he is working. This is something he himself says he prefers because it helps him think and that teammates bring up as being odd (because for one..that's so fucking dangerous but i get it)

I'm curious as to the psychology of your kink. For someone so young, it seems like a pretty full on and specific kink. I am wondering firstly, what is the connect between fantasy and reality, if any, are you just engaging in fantasy purely for horny reasons? i dont know which kink youre specifically talking about though since a lot of my kinks can fall under this line of questioning. ill answer this for the three "worst" kinks i have: detrans/misgendering, cnc, and misogyny. if its not one of these three then lmk and ill answer again.

for detrans/misgendering, it really not that specific tbh. theres a lot of trans people who have a kink like this or similar to this. (forced) feminization is also very common, especially in masculine spaces. theres absolutely a psychological aspect to this, as well as a societal one. trans people are oppressed and often discriminated against in many ways, including being misgendered. this kink allows for a SAFE and CONSENTUAL space for someone to cope through their traumas in a healthy way.

theres also a VERY strict gender binary often forced on trans people by cis people, and sometimes others in our own community, that force a lot of us into a box. if you dont keep your hair short, wear boy clothing, like masc hobbies, and transition medically then youre not a real trans man. if you dont do makeup and wear dresses with long hair, tuck, get surgery or use padding for breasts, or act feminine then youre not a real trans woman. if youre too masc or fem or you dont fit into nonbinary stereotypes then you must be lying.

this kink is a very easy way to explore masculine and feminine sides to ourselves as trans people that we wouldnt be able to irl because of these harsh gender roles that we HAVE to adhere to otherwise no one takes us seriously (obviously trans people are valid NO MATTER HOW THEY PRESENT OR CHOOSE TO DO but this is a very common mindset we have to deal with).

i got into this kink bc my gender dysphoria is awful. its made me miserable for most of my life and it, alongside my adhd and possible autism, is why i struggle so much with depression and anxiety. im always worried about how ill be seen, if ill pass as male, and remembering my own body makes me sick. i started joking over half a year ago, saying "well i cant get dysphoric if i pavlov myself into getting horny everytime i get misgendered. haha checkmate t3rfs!!!" and then it became less of a joke.

i wrote stories of trans men exploring this kink in my writing and it really helped. im still dysphoric. i may joke about how this kink is the way to cure gender dysphoria but thats not how it actually works. i still have days where my body is unbearable and the thought of being feminized makes me want to hide away forever. but it genuinely did help to break out of those boxes i put myself in and play in a safe space with terms and mentalities regarding my gender.

in terms of fantasy and reality, this is purely fantasy for me. i have no desires to detransition, nor do i have any want to be misgendered outside of horny purposes. i am a man, i will always be a man, and thats not going to change just because tumblr user xyz called me babygirl. im almost a year on testosterone and im considering getting top surgery as we speak. this kink doesnt affect me on any other level than horny.

for cnc/noncon, this one is probably a bit more in depth. i dont have any specific trauma in this field. ive been touched inappropriately against my consent a handful of times (as in someone touched my chest or my hips) but nothing that spawned this kink.

however, there are studies that show that a LOT (as in over half) of afabs get fantasies regarding cnc and non consensual situations. this DOES NOT mean that they want to taken advantage of. for the most part, this kink derives from the idea of being wanted so badly by someone that they would take you no matter what. its also the idea of POWER PLAY, of being helpless and not having to make any sexual decisions.

theres also a lot of trauma involved and, as stated before, kink is a SAFE and HEALTHY place to cope with that trauma as long as safe words, aftercare, and proper communication is enforced. there are many people who like being in a cnc scene and knowing that, unlike their trauma, they now have CONTROL over the situation and can stop it whenever they want and have their wishes be RESPECTED. in this area, i am the wrong person to ask so i implore you to do more research on your own with this topic if youre truly curious.

for ME personally, i like noncon/cnc bc of that power dynamic. i am a submissive who could NEVER dom in any sense of the word. i like being completely submissive and i like having my dom take control and do anything and everything for me. i dont want to make decisions and i like being overpowered and taken care of. its just hot to be forced to do something, whether that be manhandled into the next room or be good.

this is a fantasy that ive had for years, even when i was a kid. i dont know WHY that is, but i do know that a lot of my friends who have childhood related trauma also had fantasies like that as a kid. i also discovered hardcore porn and noncon scenes when i was WAY too young to even know what sex was and im sure that exposure affected me in an unhealthy way too. again, id implore you to look for educational resources on the nature of forceful and violent fantasies, both sexual and not. its a fascinating subject and bdsm and kink psychology and etiquette has been a fixation of mine for years.

and it is just that, a fantasy. in real life, i am extremely sex repulsed and borderline identify as asexual because i dont want to do anything like that with anyone. im also, as mentioned before, extremely anxious and socially awkward so i dont like being near people at all. the idea of anyone hitting on me or not respecting my boundaries makes me feel ill, even if its hot while im horny.

for misogyny, ill keep it short bc its related to everything above. basically combine my reasoning for cnc and detrans and youd get my reason for this. its basically me, as a trans person, going from one extreme of being so masculine it was toxic and exploring the other extreme. its once again just me exploring a taboo subject in a safe and consensual space.

misogyny kink is rooted in strict female gender roles, as well as the forcefulness and disrespect you get from cnc. thats why its my favorite kink, it combines everything i like but specifically utilizes WHY i like those things. i discovered it when i made my first detrans/misgendering tumblr account and made a side account dedicated to it, and then when i made this account i just combined the two.

i grew up super fucking feminist and i still am a major feminist who is all about supporting women and their choices. i love women and think theyre cool as hell and much, much stronger than i am lolol. this is just a fantasy for me, nothing more. this is another kink that is heavy on the dom/sub dynamics, as well as giving people who experience trauma at the face of their oppression a place to take back those experiences.

with the existence of ai being a thing now, and becoming more common, i decided to play with some choice chat ais of some of my favorite characters, and sorta realize that, this can be very, very worrisome, to people with mindsets like mine. i get too attached to the fictional and fake, because like sugar, it sastifies me, but doesnt fill me with the important bits of experiencing life itself with others. the idea of dating especially, and working. not to mention i find myself as a mentally and physically lonely person.

and with the news of people marrying physical objects, which i wont knock on, because at least thats harmless compared to some of the horrendous, and i mean horrendous sides of humanity, i wonder how we are going to change, as technology progresses. some dude married a voice synthesizer, others married the eiffle tower. its a curious thing, tbh, to me at least, but like, humans are complex in nature, and again, if it doesnt cause harm, than what can i do.

i do worry mostly about myself tho, cause i find myself easily falling into the rabbit hole of ais, because they seem so fun, as an idea, to interact with my favorite characters. and yeah, im definitely not mentally well. but i have to be mindful of myself, esp when i think of it as a game. at some point that "game" will be more than just that.

but with that said, its a curious thing really, because like i said, technology is advancing, and as we learn more about the complexities of human nature, there is something to learn from how both impact each other. i always wanted to study psychology, not just to understand myself, but to understand people in general, and help those in need too. but alas, i dont have a diploma, nor the money, or a job, to get that. it sucks, but i think there is value to still study, despite this.

im going through a recent discovery of possibly having bpd and im a bit curious about the episodes and more how are symptoms outside of the episodes? is it possible to have minimal symptoms or be able to be in control except when triggered? i think i've unknowingly had it for a while so i've worked a lot on my anger and emotional awareness but relationship things trigger me a lot and then i behave irrationally. do you have any resources you could myb recommend?

I'll start this out by saying I have autism and BPD so the way I process things may not be the same as other people with BPD. Also I've spent 6+ months (total) in in-patient care facilities and years in therapy so the way I address these things is based almost solely on that. I am not a doctor in any way shape or form but I'm happy to share my experiences/knowledge about these things. **this will be long btw, don't say I didn't warn you**

BPD episodes:

I would break these down into three parts, #1 the trigger: many things can trigger BPD episodes but the most common I've seen is already being in a shit mood and something more shitty happens, rejection (real or perceived), arguments, having to leave someone important to you (literally does even matter how long it's for, 10 minutes or 10 years) and even internal triggers, that are usually created/exacerbated by overthinking. #2 the out of control: this is the actual episode itself during these a lot of things can happen depending how how you personally deal with things. The most common I've seen are extreme emotional outbursts (whether they are pointed inward or towards another person is kind of on a person to person basis, for most people), attention seeking behaviors, paranoia, and self-destructive/self-isolating behaviors. Self destructive behaviors can also stem from comorbidities like depression, eating disorders, substance abuse issues and sex addiction. I would call #3 the aftermath: this can look very different for everyone but most people experience the same few feelings, guilt, remorse, regret, self-loathing, anxiety. Usually these feelings are caused by the actions during #2 whether the actions were done to yourself or others doesn't matter, the feelings are usually the same.

Outside of BPD episodes/can it be managed:

Everyone with BPD is very different and mirroring plays a big part in that. Everyone with BPD struggles with sense of identity (even myself) and some find it easier (whether consciously or subconsciously) to mirror other people to find that sense of identity and belonging, especially if they convince themselves that a person will like them more if they have more in common. This is important because this can help with coping in life and functioning better as a human in society, surround yourself with functioning people and you end up mirroring functioning people, without knowing it and then bam you do pretty well for an extended period of time. This is one of a small handful of situations I think someone with BPD could go through life experiencing minimal negative symptoms. Symptoms that cannot be managed simply by mirroring though are, inevitable extreme mood swings (they will happen no matter what), shifting self image, deep fear of abandonment, insecurity, and paranoia. Other than through mirroring, medication and therapy (and even then its not fool proof) I don't believe BPD can be ENTIRELY managed outside of episodes. It is extremely hard to hold yourself accountable with this disorder and people almost always require outside help to manage symptoms.

AHHHHHHH HI TYSM I WAS HOPING SOMEONE WOULD ASK. I read the entire book in 2 hours before going to bed like four days ago, though it probably wasn't the best time to do it, that shit is nightmare fuel

I'm just gonna preface this with I know basically nothing about the actual author other than what's in the book, also I read the manga version (the junji ito one, yeah) so yeah I'm not sure how much that differs from the original text.

So for how much he based it off of the book vs the actual author, I couldn't really tell you- no longer human is somewhat of an autobiography, so I'd say that those work together. (it's complicated, bc the main character of no longer human is not actually dazai, but dazai is there, and they like??? basically say that that character and dazai are like actually the same person???? and they like, switch places at the end?? its really confusing, but basically, I'm treating the mc of no longer human as dazai himself.) The important stuff about the author that I know of worked into dazai's character is all in no longer human too so,,, yeah. I think saying that it's based more off of that book is probably true, though I don't know what asagiri was thinking.

But about the book itself- Yeah uhhhhhh seriously, I don't really recommend reading no longer human if you have much of a sensitivity to basically anything, especially the graphic novel version because when i say graphic novel i mean Graphic there is so much nudity, sex, s/a, addiction, violence, Mental Illness of all types, religious trauma, obviously suicide, and frankly just visually horrifying stuff

So everything under this is gonna be under a cut just cause Uh Yeah It's A Lot and i do not want to subject everybody to it

But reading it was certainly something I am glad I did, because it did teach me a lot about dazai and how he was created, as well as confirming a lot of theories I had about him that can't be confirmed or denied in bsd canon.

Like me and my friend were just like examining his character and kind of coming up with ideas about him- like we both agreed that he had Motherless Energy TM and that his dad had to have been an absolute fucking piece of shit. Also, we thought that he definitely had to have had A Lot of csa trauma and probably issues having to do with his neurodivergency when he was a child.

Literally all of that ended up being true within the canon of no longer human, so I was kind of impressed that we were so right?? It makes me feel better for thinking a lot of those things, especially since they're just Pretty Fucked Up.

But yeah its. No wonder he turned out that way when he was So Autistic and Masking So Much And So Badly and with absolutely no guidance as how to deal with his neurodivergency other than just fucking let anything anyone wanted happen sooooo he got raped, as a kid, like. A lot. A LOT. And basically ended up thinking that because of this all humans were just horrifying awful monsters and yeahhhhh things pretty much went downhill from there

I don't have a ton of time so you can send me more asks about it lol this is just barely scratching the surface this thing is pretty intense

A lot of other things that I think I can apply to bsd dazai as well, tho they're not gone into that much in the canon:

-This dude is like always fucking drunk or high, cause he just cannot stand being sober that much. He's a serious alcoholic and actually addicted to opioids and I cannot think that much differently about dazai. He's got issues.

but there are a lot of differences between Dazai and the no longer human mc, though there are enough similarities that this is definitely the dude he was based off of.

The main difference is that the no longer human mc is actually just a good guy. He's made a shit ton of stupid fucking mistakes, but he's trying to be a good man and he feels awful for the things he's done, which, I really cannot say Dazai has. Dazai is not a good man, I think everyone knows that. He doesn't really care that much lol

-both of them are like. Weirdly popular with women. Which is hilarious but like, with Dazai he doesn't really take it seriously, and he actually flirts with women. The no longer human guy like. He doesn't hes just like Tragically Attractive and women want to be with him and he has no clue how to say no so he just ends up being a whore bc hes socially useless. It causes a lot of problems bc hes like constantly cheating because of this lol.

-Dazai has a much more poetic view of it all? The no longer human guy is just fucking suffering and hes like why is this happening to me im so awful and i bring misfortune to everyone around me and its not fair and he wants to die and everything but it's not at all in the same way that Dazai does. Dazai acts more like an author than him, in the sense of his "I want a death that is narriatively satisfactory and I want to know the meaning of living by seeing the worst of it and observing how it is to be a human" yeah that's not the same at all. No longer human man really just doesn't understand them and is just. Not having fun

-Also, it's really the thing about Dazai having such an utter lack of religion compared to his original counterpart. Like, the main thing that kept this dude alive for so long was the fact that he had so much religious trauma and was constantly guilty and worried he would go to hell and basically scared of everything. Bsd dazai is like, nearly the opposite, he's the kind of dude who was born and raised atheist, and in the kind of way that he's trying to basically come up with his own meaning of life and religion to follow, whereas the original is struggling to live with one that's been perscribed to him. Both are Very Neurodivergent but it was, handled differently

And yeah i really do have to keep this short, you can totally ask me more and I have a lot more to say but one thing I want to bring attention to is the fact of something they do have in common- their masking. It's a big part of no longer human, about how the mc doesn't understand social customs and what is acceptable or how to talk to people or seriously be happy, so he basically comes up with this "clowning" which is basically, make a fool of himself on purpose all the time so people will never take him seriously or think he's good or smart. That's something dazai completely does, wholeheartedly, and something that fucks him up bad in no longer human. And I think that could be examined a lot more deeply, this dude has issues and so many of them are related to autism. God, I have so many thoughts but aghhhhhhhhhhhhh i hope u enjoy

Okay so I'm guessing pretty much every person who is a fan of rap or just a rapper in general has heard of diss-tracks and everything (all the "beef" and back-and-forth) that goes with it, and probably have a favorite.

Maybe one person's cuz it's from their fave rapper (bit of a cop-out if its the only reason, but understandable), maybe another's cuz the flow is so good and the bars are savage af (probably the most common reason!), OR maybe you're like me:

If you're like me -- You adore the song/diss-track, in your eyes THIS diss was the song put an end to the "feud" and was better than it's competition, it ALSO happens to fit all the reasons listed above for why it is that great. But that is not why it's my favourite!

Yep! Em's reply to MGK's Rap Devil (which to be fair: not a bad song at all! very catchy! *nods* just not something you use against fucking eminem. either way he did pretty good so no hate here. plus from what I've seen he's been able to find a different, better-fitting niche/genre of music since this--so major kudos to him!), is my favorite for a variety of reasons---most of them normal like the one's listed above, or, if you want to ask, one's I can speak with you about!---but one big reason is rather unique (though maybe not??), and that would be: one particular (glorious) line + the reaction videos.

It can't just be any video though, to illicit this response! It has to be a REACTION video for one, and a first time listen. The better reactions come from men listening to the song, for some reason. The BEST reactions come from black men listening to the song, especially older black men who know all about what was going on in the rap world back when we were all either toddlers, infants, in-utero, or nonexistent, because they catch the line I'm about to tell you and Dear LORD do they REACT.

I have watched like a hundred reaction videos for this song at this point. The less fun ones (but still good! Cuz some people don't even catch the line! Like, wtf???) just look shocked, play it back a couple times, or say some variation of "He said what now??!?" The really fun ones (which im gonna try to list some of their YT names(? pages? handles? tf they called? what is wrong with me???) that I like rewatch, scream or even shriek upon hearing the line. There's a LOT of (very hilarious) vehement claims of not being able to handle this and leaving the room. Lots of stunned silences and cussing--in the same video. Really, just TONS of glorious content. Plus, of course, everyone laughs, (sometimes kind-of hysterically) at the songs ending, "Oh, and I'm just playing Diddy. You know I love you," always, everytime.

However even with the wide view of the camera, he is one of my beloved Reaction-ers who were like "NOPE! NO." and walked the fuck out leaving me cackling.

Lael Hansen - always good if you want a good hip-hop or rap review or reaction! I loved her Killshot reaction, she knew what was coming and did not disappoint!

LawTWINZ - Pretty sure Em drove these two to drinking, lol. Their reaction made me laugh so hard. At first I though it was another walk-out... Nope! More like they had been shot at or something. Very much worth watching!

Pretty sure this was from the deep dive asks a while back., sorry for it taking so long! i just didn't have a project to work on, but I do now!! I’ll be answering for the White Lake (temp title) characters, Logan, Nellie, and Charlie.  Thank you so much! 

1. Who are two characters that don’t like each other? What do they reveal about each other to the readers? Will they ever learn to put aside their differences?

Logan and Nellie have a bunch of tension at first, honestly. Logan is stubborn, but Nellie is more so, and both want opposite things. They also have a weird initial dynamic of “we were like... friend adjacent in high school, haven't talked to each other since, so we feel like we know the other but we’ve really barely exchanged a few words outside of class projects.” They were both the school weirdos and stuck together out of necessity, not real friendship, even tho both consider the other a friend even tho they really aren’t, so it leads to a lot of ‘i think you are this way but you arent behaving this way, why the hell wont you behave this way??” bc of the other like... placing what they want the other to be like onto them. if that makes even a lick of sense. I guess it all reveals what they want in a friend to the reader, bc they assume the other to be their Ideal Friend since they have nothing to confirm nor deny that. But its more of a ‘what you want versus what you need’ thing. Nellie wants someone who will listen to her and let her protect them without asking questions bc not listening and asking too many questions that nell couldn't answer got her one actual friend killed. Logan wants someone who just accepts his weirdness and doesn't try to push him. But Nell is pushy when she thinks she’s right (and tbh she usually is), and Logan is curious, and its a mess at first. They do put aside their differences tho. Nell is determined as hell and she realized at some point that she needs to work with Logan to keep him safe, and Logan learns that he needs to teach Nell how to accommodate his autism (that he doesn't know is autism because his parents suck) because she has no idea and just thinks he’s being difficult and has to meet her halfway too. Its messy but they work it out and become way way better friends because of it.

2. What do you hope readers will take away from your WIP? Is there an intentional theme (or themes) to the story?

I mean there’s not an intentional theme to it. I definitely want people to be unsettled and a little freaked out, I am intending it to be like... romantic era horror level horror book, if that makes sense. more atmospheric and eerie then ‘im actually going scream I'm so afraid’ horror. But also themes of friendship maybe? idk I haven't decided if there will be romance yet but definitely friendship and found family stuff.

3. What do you love most about your protagonist? (It can be something you’d admire in them if they were real, or something interesting about them as a character.)

Oh jeez. I love how determined Nell is to protect Logan. She doesn't always do it right, because misunderstandings and her idea of safe is different than his idea of happy and she needs to learn that he might be safer with her way but he’d be miserable. She just loves her people so much and she’s determined not to fail again, but its all coming from a place of deep love and I really admire how much she’s willing to put into keeping her family together. For Logan I admire how strong he is honestly. He lives in a really conservative, ableist town with parents who think he's just being difficult when its not his fault he's neurodivergent, but he knows who he is and what he needs and even when Nell is trying to push her beliefs about him onto him he stands strong in who he is. He knows he’s not wrong. He’s just lonely because no one else knows that. Its really admirable in my opinion (maybe because I've never been able to do that with my neurodivergencies and I'm definitely projecting but whateverrrrrrr). He’s also a really good friend, he’s just not given many chances to be that. As for Charlie I just love how happy they are. They try so hard to get Nell and Logan to get along, and they are always smiling even when they are the one who has the most reasons to be miserable (considering they did you know. die horrifically and are now trapped by an eldrich lake)They are always pushing themself to make others happy, even at their own expense, and while its not a trait I admire, it is one that I love in characters because I just love the hurt comfort when they break :3 also they are just fun as hell and I love my little extrovert cinnamon roll (who is way more devious than they seem but thats what happens when you basically grow up and then spend about 130 years with a ghost circus)

4. Is there anything in the story that is implied, but not directly stated? Will this become more relevant later on? How perceptive would a reader have to be to pick up on this?

A lot of the lake stuff is implied at first, and there's a big misdirect, but it gets cleared up after just a bit so I don't think it counts. Um... idk ok I haven't even written draft one yet so idk what will be implied vs told I'm a pantser I've got about 6 plot point checkpoints and a vague idea of progression here most of this is being bs-ed. Im not even sure yet if I'm making Logan a trans guy or if there will be romance or anyone’s sexualities besides Nellie (who is v much a lesbian) I’ll get back to you on this. Although wait actually - Logan never gets his autism diagnosed, I know that, so that is implied but it's like. heavily implied so you won't have to be super perceptive to figure it out. I’m not doing any -coded stuff, he is, he just lives in a shitty town with no therapists for anyone to talk to. kinda hard to go to a therapist not from town and go ‘yea my best friends are ghosts, my town is actively trying to kill me, sorry im late the road disappeared how are you today?’ you feel? no one in this town gets any goddamn therapy. But its not explicit no. 

5. Which character has the most intricate backstory? Is this backstory common knowledge from the start, or is it revealed later on? How does this backstory affect the narrative?

Oh man uh... I guess Charlie has the most intricate backstory? definitely, the longest since they did die in the 1890s. In a fire. While they were trapped in a tiny ass box. in the middle of said fire. and burned alive.  .... What i said it was horror didn't i?? Charlie has some SERIOUS claustrophobia my guys. It’s common knowledge to the circus folks how Charlie died, they sorta agree its the worst of them all. Everyone died from the fire but only Charlie was trapped in such a small space unable to get out. They are the contortionist of the circus, it was a combo act with the magician who locked them in this way-too-small box and was going to make them disappear when the fire started and he ran off to help people and forgot them in the box. He’s super apologetic and Charlie only sorta still blames him. Logan and Nellie know that Charlie died in the fire but they don't find out until later exactly how. Idk how much it affects the narrative yet, but it does affect how Charlie interacts with the other circus performers since they tend to be mother hen-y around them, tho that also has to do with, again, charlie basically being raised by the whole crew. they ran away at like 11-12 or so to join, so yea, especially the people who have been there forever tend to view them as their kid in a way. It takes a village after all. But whether it affects the whole story, idk, again haven't started it yet.

For all yall who just jumped on this chaos blog for the Autism Posts, let me introduce you to my other special Issue: I have a condition called POTS. I can ramble about it later, but the main idea is my body can't regulate its own blood pressure.

A common issue with POTS is a problem regulating salt and water. I drink SO MUCH WATER in order to just stay hydrated. I also need at minimum 5 - 8 times the normal amount of salt for a normal adult.

When my salt levels drop too low, I call it a "salt crash". The symptoms are almost identical to a diabetic sugar low, although for me its more my body thinks its too low on salt. Its not quite as dangerous. As long as I don't pass out.

I experience extreme dizziness, fatigue, muscle twitching, nausea, confusion/brain fog, and basically i feel like I cant control my body. Its so wierd and so uncomfortable. Its extremely difficult to work through.

Lately, I've gotten pretty good at keeping my salt levels even. I take salt tablets and drink a lot of electrolyte beverages.

I had 2 cups of coffee Tuesday night and one Monday morning and forgot my salt tabs. Big bad no no. While coffee doesn't dehydrate normal people, it really messes with me. I have to be super careful that im fully hydrated and double up on salt.

Anyhow. That was. A lot of words. But....thats a "salt crash" and a wee bit more on my dysfunctional chaos body 😂

hey.first of all, i’m not like, an expert on all this stuff. i’m pretty new to it, i was diagnosed fairly recently. i’ve only done research the last year or so.second of all, autism and asperger are the same thing, sort of. nowadays, a person is diagnosed with the term ASD (autism spectrum disorder) rather than asperger, since the two are on the same spectrum rather than two separate disorders.third, while depression is a mental illness, autism/asd is a developmental disorder. it can be difficult to see the difference between the two, but what i usually categorise is that a mental illness is something you try to treat, while you don’t try to treat a developmental disorder.some people argue that autism/asd actually is a mental illness and to say something else is to “shame” other mentally ill persons. uhhh i would not say that. i just feel like they’re different. like, i’m mentally ill as well, but when i can’t get out of bed, or when i’m having anxiety attacks that almost make me blackout in the middle of work, i take medication. i go to therapy. i actively try to treat and suppress my mental illnesses. my asd on the other hand? i don’t try to treat or suppress it. i try to understand it, accommodate to it, and deal with the traits that are troublesome. there are even some traits i encourage.or, if we are being simple, i view my depression/anxiety as Bad and an illness, while i don’t view my asd the same way. it’s more of a…. part of me. but i see that you said that you “suffer from asperger” so maybe you do view it that way? and honestly that is your right. everyone has different experiences with it.also mental illness is common in people who have autism/asd. so for some people, the two are so closely linked that they cannot see them as two separate things. it’s complicated, honestly, but bottom line is that autism/asd is not usually referred to as a mental illness, and a lot of people, myself included, think it’s disrespectful when it is.i’m sorry if this is a bad response but i’ve only had like 4 hours of sleep and it feels like my head is on fire. i’m not trying to be an asshole or anything either 🙏🏼 if you want to talk more about it or if you want me to explain my thoughts more, you can always message me on or off anon.

i did a lot of readin this week and i just noticed the books i read all featured neurodivergent ppl! "an absolutely true diary of a part time indian"- the main character junior has hydrocephalus, a neurological birth condition. i never knew abt this until i read part time indian, hydrocephalus apparently causes physical disabilities too, likw how junior has uneven vision impairment and a larger than averafe head, he also has a lisp and a stutter. this book isnt 100% relatable to me bc obviously im white and autism and hydrocephalus are hardly alike, juniors life is a billion times tougher than mine but i can relate to coping through drawing comics/cartoons! i lov the illustrations in the book so much, i think this was my 5th time reading this book?? "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time"- the main character christopher is, most likely, autistic? its never stated but its heavily implied, probably never called autism so that the author couldnt get in trouble for inaccuracies or smth. hes a pretty stereotypical representation of autism and was clearly a character written by a nonautistic person but i still like the character and the book. i like how christopher says he sees words when people talk as if they were being typed out, i do that too! other than that tho i dont have as much in common woth him, he cant stand the color yellow but thats my favorite color :P "a mango shaped space"- the main character mia has synesthesia (and probably spd? does synesthesia count as spd?? its also represented as a learning disability in some ways) im actually not finished with this one yet but it goes through her discovery of her condition and meeting new ppl like her its neat! theres a lot of stuff i can relate to my discovery of asd and its also neat because im kinda synesthesiac too!! not as vivid as in the book but its there! i relate colors to numbers/letters/music almost subconsciously but its neat that some of the color relations are the same as hers! i see the word synesthesia as being kinda goldeny colored too! although the authors are neurotypical (as far as i know at least) i think i got some neat stuff out of reading these books! does anybody have any reccomendations of books with neurodivergent people as the main character? id love more books to read! (other books ive read that star nd people as main characters: out of my mind {also synesthesia, wow!}, perks of being a wallflower {ptsd, maybe others too?}) oh man thats it? i thought there was more but 3 of them i almost added i realized were about family members of autistic people and the nd people were not the main character x'D curious incident may be flawed but at least it was from the perspective of the autistic person lol

Why has my car insurance gone up?

My question is about my car insurance renewal quote. I got my renewal quote from esure, last year I paid 357 with 7 years no claim discount, and with full uk licence held for just under 4 years. In whole year I haven't made any claim, same car, same address, still the new quote I got is 627. I am almost shocked. Last year also I had same problem, my renewal quote was about 40-50 pounds higher. I checked for new quote with different insurers but not getting anything cheaper than 460, still way above what I paid last year. Does anyone know why does it go up? I remember last time when I spoke to call centre guy, he told me that it depends on number of claims in your area etc. Is that true? Also somewhere I read the article that insurance companies are paying more than what they collect as a premium and they are raising premiums by up to 20% but still in my case the premium is almost double. I live in CA. I have Mercury insurance. I had 3 old cars on my policy which was too expensive so I sold 2 of them. I was paying $273 monthly automatically deducted from my bank on the 21st of every month. I sold the first car Jan. 29th. On Jan. 30th I took release of liability to AAA DMV and then to my insurance agent asking for the car to be removed from the policy. On February 10th I sold the second car. I took the release form to AAA DMV then straight to the agent asking for release. When I look at my policy deducting the 2 cars my insurance should be about $180 per month. They tell me it will be about $210 per month. Today rolls around, I check my bank account and they have deducted $273 from my checking. I call the 800 number for Mercury. They tell me it needed to be in by February 5th in order to make the billing deadline. Then they said they will NOT refund the money they removed from my account or prorate because under writing takes time. Is this legal??????""

my dad has never been in a car accident or anything of the sort. 4 months ago we got a 2005 dodge ram rumble bee. i was really confident about my driving. but today i was exiting on a freeway and the car in front of me stepped on the brake real hard and i had no choice but to swerve outside the lane. i didnt hit anything else but the bottom of the front bumper kinda got wrecked and bent. i didnt hit the car in front of me or anyone else and i gained control of the truck and slowly got back on the lane. so if my dad reports it to the insurance how much will it go up?? he told me not to speak of this to anyone and he was gonna say it was him that it happened to. please help. what if i replace the bumper and dont report it? should i even report it?

Car accident and cost $500 to repaint the bumper ?

I crashed a car in a paking lot. It was a dent on a left rear bumper. I didnt want to report to my insurance because i got in an car accident few months ago( i was 17 and juz turned 18). The owner took his car to mechanism and sent me a receive of her car repair. It costed $500 to repaint a left bumper ( Acura 2 doors). My dad told me that $500 can painting the whole car and told me to as the owner if I can pay only $300. I dont want my insurance goes up but also dont want they charge me that much. I wonder if they really cost $500 to repaint the bumper because the owner sent me a payment for her car and anyway that i can ask hhim to lower the cost. I took a picture of the dent after I crash it andn dont know if it can help for anything ??
