what is a dream girl?

a dream girl is a girl that has finally fallen in love with who she sees in the mirror. she’s the girl that she can depend on. she has her desired look and she’s on the path to self actualization actively. she’s aware of her branding. she holds herself to the standards she holds other to; and they are HIGH. her self worth isn’t contingent upon a love interest, amount of money, or social status. she’s simply that girl.

do some healing.

yes, i said it. healing. like i’ve said before, you cannot put glitter on literal garbage. that’s not even the slightest bit appealing. you’re gonna journal about your childhood, your biggest influences in life, your biggest fears and how you feel life has treated you. this calls for shadow work. shadow working really helped me figure out some of my toxic traits and how some of the things that were considered normal to me as a child have affected me in the long run. you’re also gonna write hypothetical letters to your loved (and not-so-loved) ones, including yourself. let it all out. say everything you want that person to know. around you or not, dead or alive. prepare to clam up, cry, get angry, feel anxious. good. you should. you feel clammy, hot and sometimes pain when your body is fighting off and healing from a physical sickness. now you’re dealing with the developmental, mental, and emotional parts. you’re doing yourself a disservice choosing to stay the same toxic, nasty, mean, or victimized person you’ve always been.

what do you want?

before you can start to even do the smallest improvements, you have to have a clear goal. or else you’ll just be running around in circles (heh) over grandiose blurry wishful thinking. ultimately resulting in you giving up and choosing to be basic bc it’s easier. what do you want out of life? how do you want to be treated? what do you want to do? what makes you happy? and most importantly, how do you want to feel? see, it’s more than just the frills and glitter. you have to know what you’re trying to get to, internally and externally.

grab a diary, adorn it with pretty little details and commit to it. pair it with your fav writing utensil. outline all of your goals. every single last one of them. you can categorize them, scale them from short to long term, easy to hard. it doesn’t matter. do absolutely what you want to do to make a concrete record of your goals that’s digestible for you.

compare your dream reality to the one you’re currently experiencing. what is she doing that you aren’t? that’s it. do that. anyone can read blogs about the process and other people success stories but those posts aren’t gonna change your life unless you get up and go for what you want. i don’t know what exactly you desire out of life. you do. so you have the instructions for this journey. the first part was easy, this is simple but not nearly as effortless. it’s up to you and not anyone else. you teach others how to treat you. improvements you can make include better: hygiene, self talk/treatment, outward energy, work ethic, discipline, health, consumed content, relationships, looks, habits.

the work

it’s time to apply yourself. get up everyday and actively work towards your goal. be kind to yourself. take yourself to the doctors. get active. eat right. find your passion. DO THE HEALING.

everyone’s journey is SO different so i’m just going to do a quick rundown of the importance of each of the ten facets of your dream girl journey (that build upon each other. ie; looks do not benefit you when your hygiene is insufficient):

*these facets are loosely based on maslow’s hierarchy of needs

health - are you taking care of yourself? please treat yourself how you would your loved ones. you’ll be surprised how physical issues manifest mentally, and vice versa. get adequate sleep. take baby steps if need be. some of these adjustments may be huge to you. be gracious with your journey.

consumed content - everything you engage in is your diet. the company you keep, food you eat, music you enjoy. you get the idea. do you feel light and ready to take on the day? or do you feel drained and sick more often than not. make some adjustments wherever you see necessary.

hygiene - extremely important. stick to a routine for your hygienic needs. you should have rituals you engage in everyday. don’t forget that your health and hygiene go hand in hand. oral and feminine hygiene is so crazily important. please don’t neglect yourself. i talk about my routines in detail here.

habits - daily habits are so crucial to your lifestyle. adjust these and consciously break your bad habits by supplementing your life with equal and opposite habits.

self talk/treatment - simple. be kind to yourself. hold yourself accountable for flaws and mistakes while loving yourself enough to be patient with the journey of improving.

outward energy - be very aware of the vibes you’re permeating. again this is so a huge determination of how you will be treated and how you will live your life.

work ethic/discipline - it’s gonna take serious accountability to escape the desire to stay comfortable. you have to tell yourself that you deserve *your desired end result* so you will *make specific change/adjustment.* it’s that simple (again simple doesn’t mean easy).

relationships - if you don’t like the way you’re treated by those in your life, those relationships need to be reevaluated. you can make some trims on your circle, have some honest conversations, or adjust your behaviors (because sometimes, YOU are the problem).

passion and career - in order to feel fulfilled in life, we all need a purpose. discover yours. incorporate your passion into your daily life.

looks - develop your signature and hone in on it. looks are very important to your perception (self and public). check out this guide to help with this part. however you wanna feel is how you should display yourself.

ON SAGITTARIUS RISINGS ♐️

This is a part of a series on the rising signs not necessarily in Zodiacal order.

Sagittarius is the adventurer. Also the priest, judge, teacher, lawyer, politician... Ideally it's someone who is in a position to decide the right and the wrong, cause in the old days religion determined these factors. Education used to be religious etc and even now it still is but to a lesser degree. In a secular society it's secular humanitarian ethics that determine right and wrong, but same thing. Sagittarius signifies those.

The thing about Sagittarians is that they love freedom, they love travelling. Jupiter rules 1h and 4h. Change is the only constant for them as their ruler jupiter exalts in 8h of sudden changes. They loathe stagnancy.

They do not want to be tied down. Saturn rules 2h and 3h. Where you have capricorn is where you struggle with restrictions so the centaurs find the 2h stuff restricting - family especially. They don't want to be tied down with family responsibilities or property responsibilities. Especially night charts. Aquarius in the chart is what you wish for. They wish for 3h stuff - to teach!

Now their opposite sign gemini struggles to get what sagittarius have - intuition and faith beyond rationality. Sagittarius already transcended rationality but they want to rationalize their experiences, their life journeys, their spiritual experience - to be able to teach it. They have virgo 10h, the highest point - the peak (10h) of spirituality is service. Virgo is the hermit in tarot as well so Virgo is also about spirituality and religion so it's their overall life direction (10h). Mars rules 5h and 12h. Day charts especially might struggle in the areas of romance and self expression.

The stereotype of "spontaneous" sagittarius placements isn't always true, as they want to be this way but they get misunderstood cause of the saturn ruled 3h. There is hidden darkness and hidden trauma beneath all the optimism, especially family or ancestry trauma as the moon (family/mother) rules their 8h.

Back to Mercury ruling their 10h in Virgo, as I mentioned in the thread about Virgos - it's the sign of "purity of action". Virgo means you do your job without thinking about the result. If you think about the result then the action is tainted and no longer pure. Mercury also is the planet of teaching and it rules the 7h (one-on-one interactions) of sagittarius risings.

So dear Centaurs, if your calling is to teach, then just do it, teach! Do not overthink whether people are listening or whether they're understanding etc. I'm sure you'll find a good disciple, someone in the crowd who does "get it"! He very much loves looking at you (not so surreptitiously); he is a romantic at heart. Someone who would take apart his entire system to fit yourself in, and truly implement your goals and aspirations and thoughts into his own. He doesn’t strike me as the type to try to plan into the future, but “live in the present”; so he’s ready to give up on a lot of things in order to be with you. I think it’s because of his fear to think about the future. You, on the other hand, seem more future oriented. If the two of you convene about your plans for the future; it will draw him more confidently out of his own shell, and allow him to confront what he desires again. On your part you may not wish to talk about harsh topics because of it’s uncomfortable nature (but some things must be discussed); I think Lawless at this time would tell you to say things straight to him because he isn’t someone who is so easily offended. He can take what thoughts and opinions you do hide to his face, and allows you to become more confident in expressing yourself too. He doesn’t coddle anyone using sugarcoated words. The way this happens is perhaps, he sees some hesitancy in your demeanor, and immediately clings onto it. It’s not a bad thing; following up with these uncomfortable topics, the conversation will grow more comfortable and deepen in thought. He has more of a simplistic (but logical) thought process; when he sees you need help he will pursue, and let you stop overthinking regarding subjects.

𖠰𖥧 At the same time, he would love teasing you about your preference with animals, but it is never malicious or uncomfortable, because you can tell with his voice that he is actually very giggly at this; the level of affection that you hold is something so dear and profound to him, and he himself also does have a preference for animals. You can see how he softens when he looks at you while you are focused elsewhere, how he somehow becomes so different, very gentlemanly towards you. When you exit cars, he will hold his hand out. When he sees your hands turning the pages of your books, or petting animals, he feels the urge to kiss it. You let him display a level of affection as a result of this because you make him feel like his emotions will not be laughed at. Lawless loves compassionate peoples; but to a degree of realism, someone who does what they can, like you. It’s not just the compassion but also the passion inside; You make him melt.. The best to to describe this is comparing the two of you to poetry in motion. It’s like a harmonic dance in a sense?

𖠰𖥧 He’s also quite a yapper, so having you, who’s a great conversationalist, makes him exceedingly excited to talk and meet with you. The two of you could engage in stimulating and lively conversations, and grant each other new insights based on your experiences and thoughts. Be careful! Every time you tease him, he will tease you back with twice fervor. It will never be uncomfortable, but very attracting. He has a way of using sweet words and his own sensuality in his body language playfully to color in the tones of your conversations.. It is never aggressive, but sensual, the way he calls you sweetie, honey—or gestures to grab your attention, to seek it, and your subtle remarks back will keep the two of you on your toes. I think that he is someone who would want to fuse into the sanctity of your presence.

𖠰𖥧 He’s a deeply interesting, charismatic, fiery, unstoppable force, moving constantly, like a chihuahua with separation anxiety. This is a trait which might strike a lot of apprehension within you, but, you’re actually the perfect owner of such a chihuahua. You seem like someone who often stays ruminating in place.. your intuition is something I can see help you make decisions, but as a fellow intuitive type, I can guess that there is still a level of uncertainty in this decision. Lawless is someone who is very ambitious, decisive, and he is calmed by you, while you become inspired around him. He’s a very competent person outside of how necrotic he seems; and he will back down if you are uncomfortable; he does have regrets about things. he has this “can do attitude” that doesn’t feel egotistical but more like an actual promise. He mobilizes you, encourage you to take risks, challenges you to grow beyond your comfort zone. You feel like the type to get stuck inside your head before you even act, and he can bring you out of this “stuck” feeling if you go too deep. You also seem like the kind of person who may be taken advantage of sometimes due to being unable to turn people down sometimes. It’s a matter of pressure and what needs to be done, perhaps, but like how he is, he will always stand up for you. He doesn’t just abandon the people he chooses to be with. It’s like.. being whisked away by a prince in a fairy tale, but instead of bringing you away from your home, he waltz’s you back to your doorstep. This is how I feel about your relationship; it is built upon softness and thinking of one another. A warmth of home, and of sincerity. Neither of you want to be insincere at all, and both of you can display your true colors to one another. This draws away from his hedonistic qualities and makes him see life in the mundane and everyday life.

𖠰𖥧 As a result of all what you do to him, another big comfort of his being is what accompanies you in return. Sanctuary and attraction. He makes you feel safe. He feels superbly special to see himself allowed in your comfort zone, and fumbles awkwardly to meet your likings. When you tell him to just relax, he feels himself doing it on purpose. Remember how I described him like a chihuahua? He acts a bit like one too (haha), not dehumanizing, but as in, he fetches you whatever he knows you enjoy. He will spring out to go pick flowers and fruits for you, he will treat your animals nicely—(he knows how it feels to be an animal, how they feel as animals..). He cuddles up to you if you are alright with it; in cold weather, he pushes your hands into his own pockets. He pays attention to your every word and preference. He would entertain you with his presence alone, and accompany you because he loves to. You aren’t boring to him; and these fantasy stories makes him curious. It’s the kind of relationship where words is not truly needed when you’re enjoying each other. He’s someone who has seen a lot of fantastical things throughout his life— would you like to listen to him speak about it? (These are honestly a congregation of my general headcanons, but there will be a shorter section on it later). He praises you exceedingly, haha, I think you’d find him slightly out of place. In the beginning he is. He’s very cocky, but all the same, he is much more than just that. His cockiness just makes things more interesting later on (especially as the two of you influence one another). It’s ok; he lowkey gets spoiled by you.. so I think he’d rather not act out of line. He’s more like your hype man! He will without fail make you feel special, like someone precious. Sometimes, it’s lowkey embarassing 😭 it’s like… you’re unimpressed by this guy. And that encourages him to be even more bold, and it’s just funny at the end. He’s someone who absolutely feeds off your joy; your happiness is my happiness. He is this kind of intense person, fiercely loyal, and he only ever says what he means, does what he wants; and this simplicity makes you feel secure in both your relationship and around him, since he becomes so inherently protective of the people he do have left that cares about him— so reliable. He is responsible after all— for you. You’re lovely, so he never puts you on a pedestal, and respects you as an individual, and loves you like an infatuated lover would. He makes you feel seen in a humane way. It makes you feel like the things you have done are worth it.

𖠰𖥧 Why him and nobody else? Well, many things I took into account. Firstly, I didn’t want to give you any characters that was extremely assertive (and thereby intrusive) — but enough so they would be the one approaching you first. I wanted to give someone with more mobilization, more extroverted, but also not very high energy as to tire you out. However, someone assertive enough to chase, with both idealism and realism (which brings pleasantness due to the optimism it brings). Additionally, someone with a disposition similar to yours about possession and space would be important. They could not be too internally conflicted and necrotic. I wanted to give you someone who was very “internally deep” (pique your interest), at the very same time, who can be influenced by your traits and can be changed by it. Lawless is the proper fit for this… he is willing to change, unlike so many other characters within the narrative who are so headstrong and will butt heads with you. You can see the good in him, and this is so very important.

Ultimately; someone who can be gentle.

𖠰𖥧 RUNNER UPS (☎️.) ALL OF LOVE. This one definitely also has a chance of happening; but it can also lean more towards a more platonic relationship style. I feel like you might get too.. comfortable? There’s less “spark of love!” And more, “friends hanging out by sitting next to each other, not speaking, but still very fun.”

A househusband; his motto to your relationship is to get spoiled and spoil you back. Well, he has no money to spoil you with, but acts of service. Let him lay on your lap for an hour while you’re birdwatching? He’s already off to prepare your bath for you when you two get home. Gardening? He’s always by your side with it. You’re cold? Hm, take his jacket! Servamps don’t get cold anyways (he’s shivering actually). Will absolutely blush if you share any of your clothing with him. You can say he’s… he’s kind of like a tsundere!

Well, the way your relationship truly starts to develop is that he starts appearing at your front gate arbitrarily.

“It’s cold out! Won’t you let me in?”

Licht is an avid slanderer of Lawless; he’s an Angel, and that man’s eve, so he’ll take responsibility and drag this guy back whenever you want it. Ah, but it is good to be without lawless pestering him for a while… would you mind keeping Lawless for some time while he practices? He appreciates it, truly.. don’t worry! He’ll always make sure to collect him at the end. It won’t take too long. So in a sense, he’s kind of like the supervisor while you two inadvertently start courting each other. Yes, inadvertently—you two get comfortable around each other. It feels like one of those relationships where he confesses, and you’re like “? Ok.” And then go about your day until you realize half an hour later.

Absolutely gets slightly pouty because of the cat and dog sometimes. Transforms into a hedgehog and wedges himself between them to get your attention too! They’re very interested in him, and he ends up playing with them in his own way until he gets too tired 😭 defeated hedgehog.. rolling around until you pick him up.

Gets absolutely dogged by you in chess games. Not at all overconfident nor bragging (his demeanor around you is different compared to others -> like a calm dog), very inquisitive. Speaking of dog.. will definitely take care of your pets for you when you are busy.

Tickle monster here. But usually, he’s more of a cuddle monster. Warmth makes him feel.. more alive. What? You’re cold? That can’t be, doesn’t that mean your blood circulation is poor? He will make sure to make you feel warm before you two go out to walk the pets. Always taking care of you physically whenever he can.

He’s never truly been in a romantic relationship, or understand how it works normally, you’re going to have to explain some things to him 😭 he isn’t dumb though, so he can surmise a lot of things by watching, er, unrealistic television shows. It’s the only thing he knows because he watches the most dramatic ass rom coms and randomly brings it up expecting you to know. Why would you know??? He thinks you’re a very intelligent person, so he really expects a lot out of you sometimes, even if it’s nonsensical.

Finds your lifestyle interesting because it’s not what he expects from a modern human. He often sees people doing things in excess, eating, smoking, drinking; he kind of finds you endearing in this way that you take care of yourself and fulfill your basic necessities while also pampering yourself physically and keeping yourself healthy. He finds you very elegant (you are), and that makes him somewhat flustered (since he’s into that). A lot of times you kind of reawaken his past, almost noble demeanor inside him, and he ends up serving you like you’re a princess (holding your groceries, massaging your arms, etc).

You’re probably his exact type; the kind of person he needs at this moment in order to become healthier. And this makes him feel flustered and adoring around you; it makes him want to comment on the little things you tend to do, or how cool you seem. You have this kind of composure that makes people feel at ease around you with how chill you seem, and this is exactly what he needs to take direction in his life and become a better person for himself and others— and for you.

“Ah.. you..”

The cold weather had already formed frost inside the crevices of windows, where the faint gloss of condensation ran over the expansive panels of the concert hall.

The first meeting is something that is very small, but very intriguing. The recital stage should be this way, to the left, you’re sure of it. But following that direction, the signs were not the ones you were told it would be. You peered around near a wall, but the people striding around you look very busy, and you don’t want to bother them at all—you can tell you will get some annoyance tainted answer, and you don’t want to bother with that right now. However, it is a fancy recital. A big name pianist by the name of “Licht” will be playing— a lot of people are scrambling in order to meet him today. Including your parents.

“Don’t be late,” you remember hearing. The thumping in your chest gets louder and louder.

Then, there was suddenly a tap on your shoulder. However, as you looked back, there was a flash at your peripheral, and an outdoorsy scent passed by in a split second—the kind that reminds you slightly of a cat. In front of you, a blond man with a black scarf stood, grinning.

“‘Alack, there lies more peril in thine eye than twenty of their swords…’ Hahaha..! You lost, little lady?”

There is this perverse, almost innocuous tone in his words, as if he is expectant of something. This feels like it is something important, and you’re not sure why, but as your explanation leaves your tongue, his face rescinds a subtle expression you couldn’t quite catch. “Hah? You’re not here for Licht?” He suddenly seems calmer. Your face, still dispassionate, glances at him.

It was then, that a pair of doors opened nearby, and the limelight that filtered through that slanted square doorway limned the two of you in its radiance. Any movement can be discerned from how harsh the light is, but for a moment, you could almost see him getting lost in the light refracted from your eyes. But only for a moment.

The first impression is characterized by two words; “boring” on his end, and “off” on yours.

He looks tired now, mood swinging like a pendulum. And he shrugs, before pointing to another door opposite of where the two of you stands. “There. If you’re looking for the other musicians. They’re performing there.”

After the performance, you find your mind still straying to him. Something about him seemed off. There is a slight hope in your heart that he may be someone like you..

Opening your hand, you find an illuminated piece of vine. But you close it as soon as you hear your parents calling for you.

This is about a week before Licht’s actual interrupted performance in the manga, and after this, you’re surprised to see your parents knows Licht. You recognize this blond haired man next to him.

Your mother nudges you gently, teasing you to make some more friends your age since you’ve moved here. Licht doesn’t give out his phone number easily, so Lawless offers his own! When this happens, Licht also gives you his phone number (to make sure lawless isn’t going out of hand). You don’t like mobile phones much, but you don’t want to reject it since they’re giving it. That’s how it first starts.

Asks you tons of questions about your day, your work, many things. Lawless would honestly start to visit your house if you mention your preference. (This may be even worse to you though). This is how he gets to know you at first, but it doesn’t feel too unpleasant. After, he just starts to grow on you, and it feels natural to see him at your house randomly to hang out.

What he finds annoying in regards to you is how restrained you are. You seem like the type to truly conceal your grievances when it happens, and this mannerism is both understandable (to some extent) and irritating to Lawless. It’s reminds him of that stupid elder brother’s eve..

You mention that you’re good at dealing with adults who act like children? That’s him at first. Honestly he’s still childish, but less so later, transforming into “youthful” instead.

ᨒ↟ ⋆｡° [#crush] + [#confession]

𖠰𖥧 with a crush, he becomes extremely hesitant, and much more withdrawn. Hes also anxious; he feels like it’s safe anywhere unless you’re in your home. With all the conflict that has been going on, he’s glad that you’ve decided to aid in the sidelines instead of rushing over. This is a conflict between vampires; a guardian of nature (to be elaborated on in roles) should not be involved so intimately, even if it may be more fun. You seem like the type to help when you can, so many people are grateful to you for that. Ah, he couldn’t have been bothered with whatever you did before, but now he’s relieved. Isn’t that hypocritical of him? A man such as himself, you might dislike that aspect of him. He’s convinced himself that you would never reciprocate his feelings back, in short.

𖠰𖥧 this makes him superbly hard to deal with, even though he’s also acting very squishy in matters regards to you. Licht judgingly glares at him at the corner of his eyes when he brings something related to you up. He’s sheepish and slightly indignant.

𖠰𖥧 how is this overcame? Well, as an impulsive person, Lawless is unable to control his mouth whenever he wants to speak, you see. Whenever he’s with you, he just starts talking. Eventually, he gave up on trying to be restrained around you (funny how he disliked this aspect of what he felt towards you when he did it himself!) and the two of you started hanging out again.

𖠰𖥧 because of all the factors stated above in the matchup section, falling in love, confessing… it just happens. It’s just natural. You probably said something that brought him into a romantic mood, and he, judging the atmosphere, promptly confesses. It happens on a dark evening, where the cherry blossoms are in bloom. He picked something up from the convenience store while you waited outside, and emotions just swelled up within him when he saw your face. He is in love, he is in love, he is in love. He didn’t know it would happen again.

𖠰𖥧 and the tang of the sweet flowers was in the air. He never liked this smell, as it reminded him of flowers in funerals and… oh, but you look so lovely. There is darkness all around you, and you look somewhat antsy. He should step it up and protect you, shouldn’t he? His heart feels very present and his face feels somewhat flushed.

“…stay with me from now on, ok?”

Haha, that’s his style of confession. And he leads you back to the picnic area where you left your things by the hand. He’s a vampire, but he feels hotter than normal.

ᨒ↟ ⋆｡° [#role] + [#abilities]

A human blessed by the nature spirits? What a rare sight. Not even much priests or priestesses are bestowed this honor, much less rangers and hunters of the old….

Distanced from servamps, C3, and the conflicts that arose— you were an ordinary person until one day, where you found yourself lost in the mountains.. when you returned, you found yourself with strange abilities that suddenly emerged.

As it seems, you’ve become some kind of chosen guardian of the natural regional area near you. Something like a priestess in Inuyasha, if you are familiar with that. Other than spending time in that place a little longer, not much has changed. It seems to have a protective effect on you; trying to separate you from the chaotic world of mystical creatures. Thus, whenever you enter this plane, it separates into a space where nobody can come in or leave without your jurisdiction. Like a safe haven in a sense. Your abilities have specific characteristics that have also been altered by this blessing.

“Mary, Mary, quite contrary—How does your garden grow?”

A long distance continuous spell which generates protective effects based on distance. The user is able to create luminous vines that are invisible to others with both physical and spiritual properties that offers a few things specifically. These vines can grow from anywhere that is viable for plants to grow as long as the user knows the location.

Claircognizance. Upon vines coming into contact with a being, you can ask a question in your mind (thus long distance) and perceive the TRUTH. It doesn’t exactly tell you what is a lie, but whenever there is a lie, a second voice tells you the hidden truth. This works on animals as well, which interlinks with the second ability.

Animal coercion. Any animal that comes into contact with the vines can be influenced to follow an order. For example, a bird can be used to spy on enemies. It would take more out of you, but humans is also possible. As it is an influence of gentle force, the person/animal usually doesn’t know they’re being influenced. This makes it hard to detect. Then, you can use claricognizance to understand what happened.

Adaptation. These vines can be used in order to close wounds, hold the bleeding, etc. it will temporarily adopt the necessary conditions of a certain organ to trick the brain into keeping the body working. In a life or death situation, this saves a ton of lives. Latching onto allies, the vines can grow into thick walls to shield people, or extend in order to grapple or entangle enemies, or even be used as a means to escape for allies who have it on hand. Outside of closing wounds, this can also be used in order to bind enemies. As it is made using magics, it is hard to break unless it is done with a spell or large attack.

I do have reasons for this kind of ability, so if you want to know why specifically it’s so utility based, ill tack it on.

— ALL OF LOVE is your best friend. He may speak such weird things sometimes, but he’s a very gentle and sweet person who makes you feel at ease. He has this deep empathy similar to yours, so he can truly understand how you feel. He uplifts you. Always invites you into the mansion to have a tea party, especially to spend time with the children there afterwards. If you bring your pets, even better—he’ll make sure to have treats and things set up for them. They absolutely adore you! When you two first met, it was through these kids, since they didn’t know the directions to a certain sweet shop. You two immediately hit it off, and discuss the books you have read and or just the general state of situations. He thinks you’re kind of similar to a very matured Misono without all that attitude, with your elegance and your affection for others. It’s very cute, and it makes him want to protect and pamper you. Always makes sure to send you home with a heat pack, or more clothes if it’s needed after your visit— or just goodies like some new sunscreen he thinks is great for you. Very much tries to spoil you materialistically, or offer you some profound advice if you ever need it. Dependent on some variables, he may even have a crush on you. You’re lovely, too lovely. If you ever tease him, he’ll start to flush.

— MISONO thinks of you as a sister. He can’t help himself even though he tries to reject this, but you’re someone that he truly could picture as his older sister. He admires your cool-headed attitude towards things, and thinks you’re cool! A lot of the eves are teenagers, and they’re very impulsive, somewhat self-centered teenagers; having someone who thinks things through like you while still being considerate towards their feelings is something he is grateful for. It makes him feel seen, and happy. You exchange some tips with him for his health, and he lends you his drivers if you need it. Though, he absolutely doesn’t like Lawless much. He’s seething while watching that man throw himself over you, he absolutely doesn’t deserve you..! But if you’re happy.. well, maybe he can tolerate lawless a bit more.

— LICHT the absolute goat in your relationship with Lawless. Listen, he doesn’t do this for anybody, but he likes you. You’re someone who has all the traits to earn his respect, especially with how tolerant you are of him (that’s to be expected!!), you don’t act all cheerily fake, or impulsive, you have some ear for music, and your upbringing is similar while you don’t try to pry into his life or lick up to him. He appreciates this. That’s why he acts a bit like a “supervisor”, or a “matchmaker” in your relationship when you need it—he has a very keen eye, so it would be very insightful to listen to what he has to say about things as well. He understands both of you well, and he definitely also has accompanied both you on your little dates. (“It’s not a date!” Lawless yells. Yeah yeah, you devil). But if you have anything you want to say, he’ll turn an ear to you. Other than this entire relationship thing, the two of you are strangely close friends. You don’t hang out often, no, but the emotional distance between the two of you seem very small. While Snow Lily may be your “best” friend, he is your closest friend. Your insights make him reconsider situations at hand, especially since you speak in a way that makes him much more comfortable and respectful towards, as he may seem very cold to people sometimes. You two meet by odd coincidences, like at the park, and just sit down and talk to each other about how things have been.

— MIKUNI thinks you’re a nice girl. Haha, but you should definitely get out of here before anything else happens. If you still continue, good for you, he supposes. He’s very curious about your abilities and how other things come to play, and he’s happy you make his younger brother so delighted. (In his place, yes.. perhaps he is a little jealous). He’ll even bail you out if you ever get into trouble with C3. He often cheerfully asks you some very bizarre questions whenever the two of you meet, but as always, he is very emotionally distant and doesn’t like it when people close in on him. You respect that, and the two of you have this nice acquaintanceship.

— GEAR is similar to you, yet he is also not similar to you at all. He is the closest you can say to be somewhat of a teacher figure, a mentor figure, for this world you have suddenly found yourself in. The two of you are both disconnected from vampires, with other supernatural forces at hand, and this factor, alongside the similar viewpoints the two of you share, allows the two of you bond. You met him on a family trip to England, and had passed through London, where you first met Yotaro. He understands you well, and can really say things that hits the target almost uncomfortably. But he absolutely adores you, I know I’ve been saying this a lot for a lot of the characters but like you’ve said, you usually give a good impression to people. Definitely ships you some nice tea/coffee he’s been trying out, books since he’s a bookworm himself, and gives you some funny little tips regarding your dogs (since he is a werewolf). He’s very patient with you, and enjoys your company if you ever visit. Most of your exchanges is done overseas, but.. while I write, it feels like this guy would definitely see you as a child to take care of— so, father figure somewhat as well? He is very proud of you whenever you show him the new techniques you can perform with your powers, or really, just anything of note that you’ve done well.

— YOTARO gives me the feeling of a childhood friend—like a bit of a brother. I guess this is your new family now, Gear, Yotaro, Tilli trio, even though Gear and Yotaro don’t have the relationship you do with Gear. He thinks you’re a very dutiful person, you see, and the two of you seem to share similar values in terms of material living. I can see the two of you roaming markets together and him sharing all the tricks in the book that he picked up by being a carer. Cooks you your favorite whenever you visit, and shares recipes he finds. I’m not sure how to describe this other than “familial”. He’s your other hype man, albeit realistically, and somehow makes FaceTimes enjoyable with his enthusiasm. If you need anyone to confide in, he’s your guy. In the time where you and Lawless was getting together, he was very subtle in conveying his opinions across to push the two of you together. Thinking back on it, it was so obvious!

— KURO and you are best buds. Yes there is a difference between that and best friends. You are the first person to ever take him upon his “hold me and calm down” nonsense, but he definitely smells the scent of your pets on you, and end up crawling away. He gets reminded of his siblings whenever he sees or smells animals. (“It’s kind of a pain..” <- what’s with this half assed answer????) But the two of you are the chillest duo together. Even if you don’t like his habits, you never judge him on it, and since you love the fantasy genre, he would definitely try to invite you into playing rpg video games with him. Please do indulge him, he’s kind of lonely on that end 😭 do it for the fantastic storylines. I’m slightly lazy to write another section for Mahiru, but you and him would also be great friends. Having you around in this chaos.. it feels like a relief.

We got Morty back!

When the world was about to send out an Amber Alert on a missing kid, Morty decided to return to us! I’ve enjoyed the season so far but having Rick and Morty together is a stark reminder that the strength of this show is found in the dynamic between grandfather and grandson. Also, I love seeing Rick getting healthy and bettering himself, but I also love to see a Rick that’s amoral and a bit unhinged.

This is my one small gripe in an episode that I think is fantastic. I’m confident there is an earlier draft out there that got so much grosser before S&P made their cuts and I demand to see that draft!

My Thoughts:

First my less serious thought, how in the hell did Rick find out that those people turned in spaghetti when they unalived themselves? My headcanon is that he has made a regular habit of impersonating a doctor on that planet because he sees doctors as nothing more than glorified mechanics, but for people. Rick knows he’s the smartest man in the universe and a proper scientist so practicing medicine would not be that much of a challenge and along the way he discovered this delicious trait about the Keplar people.

On a more serious note, there are two moments that really stood out to me. First, was when Morty broke the news of the spaghetti’s origin to the family and their reaction. They were angry and disappointed—in Morty for delivering the message rather than Rick for feeding them people-spaghetti. That spaghetti was amazing and brought everyone joy and they were more angry about losing their joy than the moral implications of consuming human flesh. Morty destroyed the illusion that they were “good” people and instead of actually being good people and refusing to eat the spaghetti, Morty created a work-around so that he and the family could still maintain the illusion.

That felt very realistic to how, dare I say, all of us have acted at some point, whether it’s the food we eat or that store that sells the jeans that fit perfectly or the online retailer that delivers anything we could possibly want the next day. Maybe, we find out someday that it’s not created in the most ethical manner and we rationalize it. We think, “ Oh, it’s not that bad.” or “ I can’t afford the more ethical option,” or "I have such few joys in my life I don't want to lose this as well.” It’s easier to uphold the illusion of being morally upright under a system that makes it exceedingly difficult to do so. But even if the capitalistic system is destroyed can we ever really be absolved? This leads to the second moment that stood out, Rick’s monologue.

“Life itself is wrong and that means death is right. But you can’t side with that. So you live, even when it means eating.”

My interpretation is that Rick is saying, “Life, by it’s very nature, is inherently unethical and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Even if the meat you eat comes from an animal that is well taken care of, killed as quickly and painlessly as possibly, and processed in a facility that treats its workers well and obeys all regulations—that animal still had to die in order to produce that meat. You’re a vegan. Plants are still living things and for many plants the process of getting food from them destroys them in the process. Millions of bacteria are destroyed every time you wash your hands. Life needs other kinds of life to end for it to keep going, but humans are the only creatures that are aware of this fact so we create arbitrary categories around which types of life are okay to destroy (categories we can’t all agree on) in order to maintain the illusion of morality.

This episode does not have a feel-good message among the jokes and absurd characters and I appreciate that. This one got my brain a-churnin’ and I’m sure I read way too much into this episode but I couldn’t help myself.

I love you for asking this, anon ♥ It's an opportunity to wax lyrical about something I've given a great deal of thought! These are my instinctive answers, although I could make arguments for a number of other professions for each of them depending on the life choices they made in this hypothetical non-curse world — but we don't need to get into that! So, here I go (in no particular order):

Yūta is an emergency paediatric surgeon

When he was young, he made the decision to become a trauma surgeon after losing his childhood friend in a car accident. He spent some time in hospital as a child and he knows what a scary place it can be for children, so he always does his best to make his patients smile when he's checking in on their progress.

He's brilliant at what he does — a once in a generation talent — but that doesn't mean he can save everyone. It's heartbreaking work on a good day, but when he's been at work for approaching 30 hours and he feels like he wants out, he looks at the photo of Rika in his locker and finds the strength to go on.

Kenjaku is a performer

If the average Japanese human enjoys at least 80 rotations around the sun, why waste them by playing the same role every time? That's Kenjaku's outlook on life — which is why they chose to go into acting. However, they quickly became bored by other people's narrow view of the world, dissatisfied by the limits of everyone else's imagination.

Nowadays, Kenjaku marches to the beat of their own drum in a one-person show. There are more than ten roles available, all of them played by Kenjaku — who is also the writer, producer, and director. Critics can't decide whether it's madness or sheer brilliance.

Megumi is a vet

He's grumpy with humans, especially if they're irresponsible pet owners. However, he's soft as anything with the animals, and his regular clients trust him implicitly with their beloved furry family members — because it's obvious how much they love him.

Megumi is really good at his job, but he's guilty of taking his work home with him and finds it difficult not to get emotionally attached to the animals he's treating, even after years in the profession. Although he'd never hesitate to make difficult decisions, the unique ethical dilemmas his job presents take a toll on his wellbeing — especially when human cruelty or indifference come into play.

Suguru is a school teacher

Teaching is neither recognised nor appreciated by most people. However, although Suguru had the brains to follow his friends into their highly respected fields, he couldn't imagine anything more rewarding than doing his part to ensure that the next generation have an easier time of things than he did at the same age.

He tries to be the person he needed when he was at school: a pillar of support for struggling children who have no one else on their side. Unfortunately, the school system seems determined to hurt the very children it's supposed to support, and some of the parents go out of their way to undermine any positive developments he makes with their child — not to mention the terrible pay and working conditions!

Satoru is a physicist

But he could have done anything he put his mind to. In fact, that's the only thing Satoru ever really found difficult in life: choosing one path to follow. Sometimes, he wishes he'd become a musician or a historian or an athlete, but in the end, nothing captured his imagination quite like the limitless bounds of the universe.

He's younger than most of his peers in the field, and his revolutionary ideas (alongside his casual disregard for traditional academic hierarchies) get him in trouble more often than not. However, he's a certified genius, and popular with the media, too. He's doing a lot to improve the image of physicists among the general public — which translates to more funding for research. That keeps them out of his hair, most of the time at least!

These are too obvious, but I thought I'd mention them anyway:

Yūji is a firefighter who remembers the names and faces of every single person he couldn't save.

Shōko is a pathologist who devotes herself to improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease, often at the expense of her own health and wellbeing.

Because they're *also* huge nerds, I imagine Sukuna and Yuki as physicists in slightly different fields to Gojō:*

Yuki is a brilliant mind, but she doesn't live up to her potential because she hates the oppressive nature of academia. In fact, she vocally criticises it and goes out of her way to undermine it, to the chagrin of all the old stuffy professors who try to discredit her at every opportunity.

Sukuna, like Gojō, is a genius who's fascinated by what he doesn't know, shaking up the field with his cutting edge (lol) ideas. I like to imagine the pair of them getting into heated arguments at conferences, though they both have enormous (albeit grudging) respect for each other.

*As long as Sukuna is, you know, ~normal~ in this hypothetical non-curse world. Otherwise, he'd be a chef that moonlights as a sadistic serial killer lol.

How To Read Tarot Cards Intuitively & Accurately

Let us start with accuracy.

Each card has a meaning. Please study the cards meanings. Look for decks with original artwork as the artwork gives details to the meaning of said card and can be easier to understand. Here is why meaning is important.

Let us take a look at the meanings of Star card and Temperance card.

Star- Hope, inspiration, creativity, calm, contentment, renewal, serenity, spirituality, healing, positivity.

I used these cards because they at times can seem similar and hard to differentiate. But they have seperate meanings. The Star cards focuses more on the desire, not so much the actuality. The temperance focuses more on the reality of what is, has, or is going to happen. You may wish for something, but the star says it still is in the stage of wishing and desire. Temperance is more of the actual energy. This is important if someone asks you a question like

How does “ xyz” feel about me?

The Star can symbolize that they think positively of you and desires to experience you more.

The Temperance can symbolize that they feel at peace with you and feel as if you’re their soulmate.

The star focuses more on the future and what you desire. The temperance focuses on the now and what you feel in this moment. That is why it’s important to study the meanings of the cards just as much as you use your intuition.

Now let’s get into intuition.

Intuition is hard to understand, but the best way I can explain using your intuition is to understand the card meanings first and when looking at the cards, figure out what meaning of the card you’re looking at is correct. For example, King of Swords represents structure, routine, intelligent, rational, logical, power, authority, strength, manners, conversation, discerning, detached, cool, honesty, integrity, ethics, morals, clinical, stern, methodical, self-discipline, head over heart, etc. 5 of cups represents sadness, loss, grief, despair, abandonment, guilt, remorse, regret, trauma, bereavement, mourning, heartbreak, unwelcome change, negative emotions etc. If you pull these two cards you can examine them and use your intuition to decide what they mean together depending on the question.

The background is dark symbolizing this happening at night or in the dark. The crown at the top of the tower is titled as if falling down symbolizing that the beautiful tower and all its power it holds is being struck down. Without knowing the meaning of the card I can say the tower represents a very drastic moment that destroys all that has been built and hurts others. •Pronouns

Desmond goes by He/She/They/Its. Everything pretty much goes for them. She’s genderfluid.

•AroAce

Desmond in this au is aroace. He still had that past partner like canon desmond does. But after she had disappeared, it helped him discover himself after being unable to be a suitable partner for anyone else due to stress and general complications with understanding people.

•Artistry

Desmond is still very much into art, but taxidermy is what she values higher than most. She thinks it’s a beautiful way to show the life an animal once lived or a creative way to express oneself through an animal.

•Airship or water ship?

Desmond in this au owns a mixture of both! She owns a cruise ship with an attached airship at the top (the Bostonius)! Making her able to leave the ship without having to turn the cruise around and an easier place to have the airship without having to put it into a hanger. Her crewmates often call her red or dessy, a fun little nickname!

•Glasses?

Surprisingly, her glasses are only for show. She’s got no lenses in those red rims and are merely an accessory.

•Profession

Desmond studied the arts of archeology and anthropology. He’s well versed in the two topics. Archeology is something that peaked his interest since it was a major thing in his childhood. Often times, his father would bring him to dig sites to see pottery from the past and how humans used to live. Unfortunately, his father was taken by a suspicious group of people, as well as his mother.

Anthropology also peaked Desmond’s interest as it went along with Archeology. Learning about how human being behaved throughout history over time is interesting to them.

This is more of a habit but, Desmond is also an interested hunter. While learning about different cultures and their practices, she learned more and more about different hunting strategies used by many cultures. These were inspirational, so it slowly became a hobby. Of course only in areas that allowed hunting. Nothing non-ethical for her!

•Similarities and differences

Desmond and Descole act VERY differently. Desmond is simply just an act for the public eye.

Also, not called “Jean Descole” in this au. She’d probably find it rather ugly to be called “Jean” and thinks that name is stupid. Her canon counterpart would definitely hate her.

Desmond and Descole both share the same pronouns, that part does not change. Same with their sexuality.

Desmond is more open and tries her best to communicate with people, while Descole acts more cold and serious. Descole also gets agitated more easily compared to Desmond.

•Outfit and design.

Descole’s outfit is made to hunt. It’s hunting gear. She has white hunting gloves and a purple hunting jacket.

The boa and cravat is for style, might as well look good when you’re hunting. (Not..very affective..but don’t tell her that..)

The cape is also for style but it’s also used to hide her belt and anything else she has concealed in her pockets. The pattern of the cape isn’t very consistent but it has the overall pattern of a leopard with a soft texture. Often times her chihuahua, treats, enjoys to lay in it. (Treats is the Keats dupe for this au! hehe). Can ditch the cape when she needs to run after prey and it’s slowing her down.

Her boots are lightweight so she can easily run after her prey if needed.

her hat is funny, that’s why I did it lols. She can’t own a cat, or else it would knock it off all the time haha!

Under everything, it’s just a plain cream shirt with her hunting pants.

The shadow is a design choice that I like hehe, it allows her to blend in with the darkness since she mostly hunts at night. Also makes her mysterious hehehe lalalal! Desmond can also have this shadow to show the cover being blown.

Mask to conceal her identity.

Wig is not connected to the hat, if she wants to take it off, she’ll take it off from the front, similarly to how the masked gentleman takes off the costume for the big reveal.

•Weaponry

Descole carries a belt on her waist that holds her smaller tools. For example, her cautery tool she stole from her adopted father (Raymond). Carrying it around incase she needs it for prey. (Of course, it’s only been used on one creature she’s hunted.)

Another weapon in her arsenal would be her handgun. It’s used near the ending of Randall’s game. She has larger ones but she carries a small one for quick trips and not for longer hunts.

Lastly, she owns a net guns. Made by herself. The case is a deep dark purple with a red “D” to label it as her own. It has foam to protect each netgun head and handle. The yellow button on the handle is to release her white web onto her prey. She mostly uses her net guns instead of killing what’s she’s hunting right away.

• Diet.

She’s a hunter that eats her prey. if her prey so happens to be Human, she won’t find a problem using every piece that she can.

With her normal hunting, she often uses every part of the animal. For example, if she were to hunt a deer, she’d use every piece.

Though, she has yet to eat a human being. She had plans to feast on a red headed woman after her plans had failed since she had no more use for her, but that sadly didn’t go through. Once you aren’t needed anymore in her eyes, she’ll find a way to satisfy her hunger.

During the Randall game, Des gets shot in her shoulder, leaving a scar after raymond tried to tend to its wound.

Des had gotten breast reduction surgery by raymond. Raymond has surgical experience, he’s a retired surgeon who decided to work in an orphanage where he met Des and her future crew.

Raymond is like a father to des and was happy to make her feel more confident in himself.

The wound on their right hand was caused by desperate measures going through the labyrinth in Randall’s game. She carved a pathway onto her hand so she wouldn’t get lost.

He’s got a symmetry line down its chest. Idk, just a neat body detail I wanted to add because I think it’s nice! hehe

• Under Descole

She wears a binder under her descole outfit to appear more flat chested. She doesn’t mind her breasts but she’d rather wear that when she’s hunting that a bra. Feels more contained.

it’s high key really annoying the attention toh gets on this website while no one acknowledges tdp exists

Yeah, sometimes I wish TDP got more recognition and appreciation in a fandom space for its storytelling (the parallels, the worldbuilding, the mature theme explorations) simply because we haven't had a western kids' show go this hard since TLOK (even if I think Korra stumbles in a lot of ways) and arguably ATLA in its explorations of war and morality, two things that TDP is obsessed with, as well as a sometimes overwhelming discussion of Grief.

However, to be frank, while many teen and adult fans of kids cartoons say that they want darker themes and storylines, what that usually means, I think, is more akin to something like TOH or She Ra, in which you know 1) your favourite characters will always typically survive with maybe one or two minor parental or villainous exceptions, and 2) one or two characters in an otherwise fairly cookie cutter 'good guy' cast will have a redemption arc or be quirky morally dubious in a way that's played for comedy, and there will be a handful of significantly "Oh Shit!" darker or creepier moments. The characters are mostly teenagers, the heavier plot stuff is regulated to a few standout episodes, with most of the other conflicts being things like figuring out how to make friends or struggling with not fitting in or deciding what you want to do with your life. And those are all good explorations, and it's not as though TDP doesn't touch on some of that (Callum is finding his place in the world, Rayla is 'changing careers', Ez struggles with his new responsibilities and not fitting in, Soren - like Hunter - leaves an emotionally abusive relationship with a parental figure).

But I think it's TDP's attachment of all of those things to morality that makes the emotional stakes higher and less comforting and/or comfortable for people who are, likely, going to fiction for escapism rather than exploration. (To be clear: one is not better than the other, I just know what my personal preferences are.) Rayla's 'career/schooling' change is whether she's going to kill people for a living; Callum deciding what sort of mage he's going to be is rooted in deciding how much he's willing to either slowly destroy himself or take on the impossible, both with some dire consequences; Ezran not fitting is is also tied to having mysterious, unknown magical powers the story still hasn't fully explained the root cause of. Yes, the three main kids are typically good people who want to do the right thing, but that's much easier said than done (Ezran burning the monster soldiers, Callum's ruthlessness, Rayla's self sacrificial tendencies manifesting in destructive ways). TDP is never going to have an episode of "I lied to my friends because I wanted them to think I was cool or not a nerd" or "I'm scared of them preferring someone else over me" or "I need to learn how to be a good friend" (hi TOH with like 5 episodes and She Ra).

Like Rayla lies to the boys, but that's because she isn't sure how to tell them that her father murdered theirs and made them orphans, and she's worried it will accordingly be a wedge between them.

Like, there's hardly any episodes of TDP that don't talk about grief or death or both in some manner. The show consistently explores unreliable narrators across all sides of its ethical spectrum(s). S4 has a subplot regarding religious traditions and the ethics of the death penalty. Most of Arc 1 and now into Arc 2 sees good people with good intentions or understandable motivations doing pretty terrible things to either themselves, the people around them, or both. The death and body horror imagery aren't one offs, but consistent series defining elements that are always treated seriously. Villains aren't people who don't love their families (or anyone) and good guys aren't good because they're good friends to one another. It's more complicated than that, from the body swap and discussions of the soul in S1, to the cycle of violence laid out explicitly in S2, to explorations of punishment and exile in S3.

Overall, I'm fine with the success and appreciation that TDP gets; some of my students watch it, actually, which makes it useful in some of our lesson discussions. Because TDP is a good show for kids, yes, but it certainly never pulls its punches in forcing all of its ensemble cast through the wringer.

TLDR; due to age demographics and tonal differences, particularly in character conflicts, themes, and amount of Lore, I'm not surprised at all that TDP is pretty underrated on tumblr. Again, doesn't mean these elements of 'maturity' make it Better (although I do think it's written more cohesively than She Ra and more consistently than TOH in its set up and payoff), I just know where my (and many other's) preferences lay accordingly, and am not surprised at the split.

Picture Germany, 1943 yes I’m going there , their Media at the time was completely controlled by their government, hence allowing them to report lie after lie after blasted lie to their citizens, in addition, from the testimony of many a citizen citizens swore up and down to not know what was going on the concentration camps, just “people would go in, and never come back out …”. So it was that many German Jews because lets not forget that they were all German, just not “aryan” , decided to either find ways to fight which will almost certainly ended in them being k1lled, or just directly un4live themselves rather than being subjugated to that hell, the majority as we all know, had no other choice but to comply. 

Yet we do have the likes of Schindler, who managed to save hundreds of German Jews. How did he do that? He most certainly did not try to go against the Media or the government in power, I can guarantee you that. He found other trusted non-Jew Germans, who had contacts with Allies, who had other contacts and so on and so forth. But it was all covert. After all the Allies existed, they were fighting the war, they all knew what was going on in Germany and eventually they found their way to get in and help put an end to it all. 

In this horrendous scenario, I-Army are the Allies and K-Army is Schindler, but unfortunately, I have no idea how we can help them, because it has to come from them to us, not the other way round, as we know nothing about how to deal with things over there, BUT, if they need help they all know where to find us and how to get the help they need without attracting unwanted gazes, I’m sure of that. So we must let them be and we will be here for them if/when they need. 

While the rest of the world slowly keeps finding out about the SK Media Clown Show, we’ll keep doing our “storming”. what AI app/program do you use for the Gilded Constellations art?

Well, it hasn't been only one, I've actually used a couple of different apps/resources to make all the art for GC so far.

For these kinds of images, and this one I've only recently discovered, it's Bing's image creator. It's free, and it does exactly what you ask of it. It's also incredibly good at doing its job. Although I wish it had a feature that allowed me to change specific things from one picture in particular, but I end up doing that in post-production either way (on these images I made Sirius and Lily's lips smaller, changed Remus' hair colour and gave him some more bruises).

For the character looks and casting, I've used Talkie most of the time, it's a CharBot App, but it lets you create art with the bot creation tool, and I absolutely love the styles it comes up with. (But if you actually want to chat with bots, then go to Character.ai their bots are much more clever).

And lastly, I've been toying with Midjourney too, now this one isn't free, it's like 10 USD a month. And with this one, I've made these pictures. It's incredibly good at hyper-realistic stuff and aesthetic backgrounds, but it's kinda bad at following instructions in comparison to Bing or Dall·E-3. For example, I will ask for a dog and a fox in the same picture and it would straight up forget the dog altogether. Still, I like the aesthetic stuff I can create with it, it's easier than scrolling through Pinterest for hours trying to find the right thing to use a header.

Disclaimer: I know the position of some people against AI art. I understand your point of view and I know it's a very delicate subject for artists. I love art, in all shapes and forms and if I had the resources to do it, I would 100% commission artists to draw every single one of my headers (I have commissioned artists in the past before), but guys, I don't have nearly half as much money to do that, and I've always dreamed of getting fanart of my works. This is my way to fulfil the dream with my own AI-made fanart. It's insane to see my characters come to life like they do in these pictures, it brings me joy. And I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable, but I see potential in AI, not just in image creating, but in other apps like chatbots, music bots, photo editing bots and even chat gpt. And it might be because I'm a geek, but I want to use these new, incredible tools, in the most ethical way possible, which is why I always use disclaimers.

I have a potentially lengthy question.

So, Im somewhat aware of Israeli news outlets like Jerusalem Post, Times of Israel, i24news (I think that's what it's called?), and Haaretz but I'm uncertain which to read and which to not read. Which would you personally recommend as "Yes, that's a good source" and which would you say are "Don't ever read that"; are there I didn't mention/don't know about, yet, that you feel are also good to read?

I wish I had a good and useful answer for you, but I don't. I have an issue with knowing what news sources to trust. I'm wary of sources I disagree with ethically for obvious reasons, but I also try to watch out for sources I do agree with, because I don't entirely trust myself. I often think about how it's easier to be tricked into lies that affirm my view. None of this makes me immune, but I try.

When it's something serious I want to be able to confidently talk about, I try to check stories with multiple sources, and look at links to videos or posts if they're provided. Which is kind of a lot, but a couple of times I went to post something and this was how I found out it was wrong. It also means I see a lot of things I would rather not. Like when I heard about the funeral of Shireen Abu-Akleh and watched Israeli police/military beat up the pallbearers.

There's also things like... if I know a source is biased towards Israel, and they're publishing something that's damning of Israel, I trust that more than if they're publishing something that's damning of Palestinians, you know?

And there's also organizations working on the ground, which I usually take seriously.

Also word choices and terminology. How are they referring to Israeli crimes? Israeli deaths? Palestinian deaths? What language do they use?

I'm not the best to answer this question. I do my best, and I take this very seriously, but I'm still really figuring this out. Maybe at some point I'll have a better tactic and a list of sources I trust? Right now I don't really.

I'm not sure. I doubt you'll go reading Arutz Sheva (it translates to Channel Seven and the only ones I know who trust it are extremist settlers).

Haaretz is pretty left-leaning, and I think it's pretty reliable. A lot of people here hate or mistrust it for political reasons, but I don't know that I've seen an issue with them bending facts on news articles.

Jerusalem Post, I remebered something and I can't find it, but years ago there was a thing about Netanyahu applying pressure and possibly influencing reporting? Could be something similar with Maariv too? But don't trust my memory on that, I'll try to see if I can edit the post with sources.

i’m going to be speaking abstractly about grooming under the cut, so please scroll past this post if you’re not in a place where you can read that kind of discussion. taking care of yourself is more important than anything a random artist on the internet has to say.

the tl;dr is that i believe all of us on social media must remind ourselves that we are simply individuals using the internet. it’s not our jobs to provide press releases explaining how we feel about each new bit of news in great detail. i also believe that all of us owe compassion to each other, even when we find ourselves in strong disagreement. i don’t think either of these statements is controversial! but i think writing about it is worth my time.

this has been on my mind a lot lately so i think maybe i would benefit from expressing it. let me start with this: in an ideal world, we would all be able to trust and believe everyone who claims they’ve been hurt by someone else. we’d be able to hear them, trust them, and help them achieve the justice they want. but we don’t live in an ideal world. we live in a world where people behave irrationally and illogically. trusting every individual you meet, or even just the ones who you believe would be honest with you, can often result in having that trust thrown back in your face when you realize they were dishonest. if much of the world exists in this grey area muddied by moral inconsistencies and judgement, how are we meant to approach any kind of conflict?

are people to be trusted? are people to be distrusted? are people to be regarded with absolute neutrality free of any judgement? i don’t know. i don’t think any of us know, really. many people on twitter, for example, argue for unwavering trust in anyone who comes forward with claims that they were hurt by someone else. simultaneously, these same people struggle to trust their friends who feel differently and believe that unwavering trust is often a misguided choice. i hope that in the future we can all seek more of a middle ground in these kinds of situations; i’d like to see more people being willing to hear out accusers, while saving their thoughts of judgement for the point at which we have all of the information possible. i believe this is the most rational way to approach these nuanced and complicated situations. it’s my belief that we need to abide by “innocent until proven guilty” always, even when it’s hard. we are all owed that much.

as much as i’d love for people to handle these delicate situations with the tact they deserve, i know the internet doesn’t generally behave that way. it is much easier, and more attention-grabbing, to speak in extremes. but i actively try to resist this practice of “speak first think later” so that i can at least feel better about my own ethics and emotions in any given situation. when dream’s sexual misconduct and grooming allegations came out, my initial response was denial. as with many of us, i’m sure, i felt as if i knew dream relatively well. how could someone who seemed so normal do something so abhorrent? i saw the words grooming and pedophilia thrown around, and immediately shut down. i deleted my tweets about my denial, looked at all of the information available, and went offline for a while. i sat with my thoughts. i logged on occasionally to check in on friends and share words of comfort, but for the most part i allowed myself to process my emotions without feeling a need to rush to a conclusion.

i feel that many of us are pushed into feeling as if we need to immediately write a press release every time a new controversy arises. there’s this fear of our peers, even our friends, judging us and thinking we’re morally bad people if we don’t respond the “right” way instantly. what if they think i’m a bad person? will they write a thread? will i receive a callout post? will i lose all of my friends? will my peers think poorly of me? so much of our socialization online is rooted in this paranoia and fear of a looming boogeyman who could ruin your life at the push of a button. so we write our threads. we write our notes app statements. we make it clear to our peers that, “hey, i’m not one of the bad guys. i’m good. i’m your ally. you can trust me, because i’m on your side. the right side.” as if that guarantees us any safety from their changing minds and shifting moral goalposts in the future.

i have cited this study about social media discourse an unbelievable number of times, but i learn something new with each read. there are many studies that have been done in recent years analyzing the way that we all use social media as a tool for self-expression and developing our own social and political ideologies, and i think it’s a wonderful thing. this quote in particular is relevant to what i’m discussing now:

“[…] polarization may be attributable to multiple factors, rather than solely to social media or digital online environments themselves. However, there is little disagreement with the notion that public discourse on social media platforms is particularly prone to conflict and outrage. That is, moral outrage in the digital age is common and often especially intense. Moreover, the prevalence of such outrage is particularly concerning given research showing that outrage occurring on social media is often quickly realized but imprecisely pointed at diverse potential targets.”

admittedly, i have not looked for any research regarding this topic (although i am excited to do so once i’m done writing this), but i believe that there is one major motivator for the palpable increase in social media discourse in recent years: to put it simply, the world sucks. for the better part of the last decade, we’ve all been reckoning with the fact that the united states of america is quickly spiraling into radical fascist-leaning politics where many of us are having our rights stripped away, police brutality and militarization is increasing globally, and to top it all off we entered a worldwide pandemic three years ago and many of us are still feeling the impacts. we are all exhausted, frustrated, and angry. we need to expel that energy and those emotions somehow. so many of us chose the internet. go on social media, find someone who you think is annoying, then search for a way to morally justify bullying them until they delete their account. catharsis has been attained. anger has been decreased. yet another successful therapy session!

let’s summarize: trust no one (because they’re bad), but trust everyone (as long as they’re good), and don’t allow anyone to return fire (because only i am allowed catharsis). understand everything (unless it’s bad), but empathize with no one (unless they’re good). the inconsistencies and hypocrisy don’t matter, because many of us are not truly motivated by morals and ethics as we would all like to believe. we are motivated by emotions. a desire to feel accepted, understood, and powerful. no amount of genuine conversation with the goal of finding common ground will help, because often our goals will not be met in the end. still, even with all of this said, we owe each other empathy and compassion. because we are people, and all people are deserving of compassion no matter what.

so, no, i did not “pretend to support victims” when i privately talked with friends about how shocked and upset i was when dream’s sexual misconduct and grooming allegations came out. no, i did not “encourage people to prevent victims from coming forward” when i privately expressed my initial denial. and, no, i did not “abandon [my] morals” when i chose to continue casually supporting dream by watching his videos and drawing fanart. i heard the accuser out, i read all of the information available, and i took in all of the tertiary information that has come out since then. i have applied my own personal morals to this situation and am comfortable with my decision, and i am also comfortable with the fact that i may change my mind later. i am showing myself compassion, the same way i showed my friends compassion when they weren’t sure what to think. i expressed empathy to them and made sure they all knew that i was someone with whom they could speak comfortably, because i wouldn’t judge them based on how they feel about such a complicated situation which is often colored by our own personal experiences with older people online.

i know that the internet is not a place where we should expect great empathy and compassion from strangers, but i don’t think it’s out of line to ask that we all make an effort to show this empathy and compassion to our own friends. be honest with each other. be there for each other. if you’re unsure of how a friend feels and want to understand them better, try to open up an honest conversation. it might not work out, but just give it a try so that you can know you tried to encourage this kind of compassionate and emotionally honest environment on social media. we live in a complicated, morally-grey, and often really shitty world. the least we can do is be kind to each other whenever we can, especially online where we can all feel so isolated.

i’ve never posted something serious like this before so if you read this far, thanks! clearly i’ve been thinking about it a lot and i’m happy i expressed myself. i don’t know if i’ll answer asks about this if i receive any, but i do hope that i prompted at least a few of you to contemplate how we approach controversy on social media. just more people being aware of what we do and the ramifications is enough, to me. thank you for reading!
