Okay, there's an asspect of one of my favorite Phineas and Ferb episodes that I need to take a second to explain and complain.

The episode in question is 'My Fair Goalie', the one about playing Football X-7 and Lawrence's brother and family coming for a visit, that ultimately ends up being a commentary on Ferb's cultural heritage as his English cousins give him grief for not being 'British enough' after living in America so long only to end with one of my favorite Ferb lines, "Actually chaps, I'm not a brit or a yank, I'm just Ferb".

Anyways, my issue comes from both how Phineas refers to the cousins and the whole introduction section.

For one, at the start of the episode, Phineas refers to them as Ferb's cousins, saying, 'Ferb, your cousins from England are visitng'. Here's the problem with that. In the narrative, the Flynn-Fletchers are a completely blended family. Outside of the first episode and very rare occasions, we don't hear any mention of 'step' in the family explanations and both sets of grandparents are just referred to normally by all parties as grandparents, it is a completely blended family. Meaning, Phineas should not be calling them 'Ferb's cousins', cause they're his cousins too. Maybe not by blood, but that has been shown to never be a concern in this family in this show.

And another issue, the fact that apparently this is the first time Phineas and Candace are meeting Lawrence's brother and his family. What??? We know that Lawrence and Linda have been together for quite a while, 5 years at the least, since that's how long they've had Perry. So plenty of time for them all to meet. Also, they're married. Are you telling me Lawrence's brother and family didn't come to the wedding? And for anyone that might argue that maybe they just don't have many opportunities to travel to the states, we see the Flynn-Fletchers visit grandma and grandpa Fletcher in England more than once in the span of the single summer of the show. Surely if they can go over seas that often, they can take some time out of one of those visits to see Lawrence's brother and family.

Just feels weird, cause as great as the show can be in representing a perfectly blended family and respecting step-family as full family, this feels so off and not fitting within everything else we see about this family.

i think maggie would be the only person in the leverage universe who DOES notice the leverage team members occasionally becoming famous. like she’d tune into the world news and then have to call the team to check if sophie really died in a small european country during a turbulent election. "no but wasn’t my funeral so poignant? they put my face on the $20 note!" okay great glad to know you’re not dead. she watches a game of baseball on TV and just sighs deeply when the camera pans to eliot. next time she sees the team, she compliments his baseball skills. for some reason he mutters something about a sandwich while looking wistfully into the distance.

old sketch from march I decided to finish <3 usually when one of my sketches (intending to become a completed drawing) gets put on the backburner, it never surfaces. I usually have to prioritize other drawings and then months or years pass and once I have time, I lose interest and start other drawings in their place... but I'm glad I mustered up the energy to finish this one, ESPECIALLY since I strongly felt I needed more gothic pieces in my gallery hehe

the relationships between characters in this series are so interesting, because there are so many character parallels. I actually had to change the personality of white alice from the sketch to the final, since I .. think I misinterpreted her story! (so I think it turned out less gothic horror than desired but you know what I'll take this <3) I first read this story when I was 14 and I 1000% BET I'll still be finding nuances and new details in the writing years into the future...

I had a lot of fun with the animation albeit just being a blink animation 😩👍 but blinks can be animated in a variety of ways! in terms of my animation skills, I do consider myself on the weaker side. so if i can integrate more animation frames into my illustrations, it'll help me become more familiar and comfortable with the medium. I especially like the difference in how many frames it takes for dark Alice vs white Alice to blink. I think the blinks came out fluidly and I'm quite satisfied with how this drawing came out!

Dazai canonically rambling about his loved ones at every possible opportunity is so dear to me.

Mori knew a lot of the things he did about Oda because Dazai told him. Akutagawa also knew about Oda and how important he is to Dazai because of Dazai's ramblings. Random, unnamed PM members know about Oda being very dear to Dazai, because Dazai praises him and talks about how great he is.

Chuuya knew straight away that Dazai had been speaking about him to the ADA. It wasn't something he expressed feeling betrayed or suprised about. It was just an immediate understanding that of all the ways they could probably have known about him and his ability despite it being confidential information in the PM, Dazai's ramblings were most likely the reason.

The way that Dazai speaks about Ranpo to quite literally anyone who will listen. To Fydor, to random cops, to Atsushi.

Dazai canonically brags about the people he cares about in an 'omg omg omg my person my people I love them look how amazing they are' way.

Their actual first meeting in the Kyoshi Warriors AU!

Katara had her Oh moment before exchanging a word with Jian Li, and while she gets over it in time (or, at least, convinces herself that she's not embarrassed by her initial reaction to him) this quasi-interaction haunts her for the first couple of days of their stay in Kyoshi Island.

It's just not fair that the place is full of gorgeous people! Or that he's not only beautiful, but also kind and awkward and respectful and dorky and—oh, La—she's in trouble.

Just deleted the ask I was trying to respond to, but re: "skeptics always die in horror movies" - I have mixed feelings on that trope!

On the one hand I think it sets the tone and helps the audience suspend their disbelief - people are always complaining about horror movie characters being idiots, so this can be a way to be like "see? We DID consider rational explanations, and then someone immediately got murdered very supernaturally, so stop asking questions and accept the premise."

On the other hand, I think it definitely contributes to the idea that skeptics are close-minded killjoys who are too stubborn to accept reality, which is a very common and incredibly annoying mindset. Shane Madej did not spend the last eight years marching into haunted houses and loudly demanding that the demons inside kill him for me to still be hearing shit about how "if you don't take the supernatural seriously you will Attract Evil Energies And Die".

when you slow down this scene, there's a little detail that–while not really noticable–arin's reactions are a little later than the rest, and his facial expressions shift alot moreso than the others, showing how he's probably pretty unfocused

and with that detail, kai seems to be the one who's the most focused, as even nya and lloyd's expressions occasionally shift (lloyd being the most out of the three of them), while he stayed unchanged the entire time

Yes, he does.

Everything's pretty much the same when it comes to the regular story in this AU. It's just the past, especifically Papyrus' past (wich we don't know much about to begin with) that changes

Actually Flowey is one of the main characters in the story! (the main story of this au is divided between the past before the game and a post-pacifist timeline:D)

He and Papyrus will have a fun dynamic
