old sketch from march I decided to finish <3 usually when one of my sketches (intending to become a completed drawing) gets put on the backburner, it never surfaces. I usually have to prioritize other drawings and then months or years pass and once I have time, I lose interest and start other drawings in their place... but I'm glad I mustered up the energy to finish this one, ESPECIALLY since I strongly felt I needed more gothic pieces in my gallery hehe

the relationships between characters in this series are so interesting, because there are so many character parallels. I actually had to change the personality of white alice from the sketch to the final, since I .. think I misinterpreted her story! (so I think it turned out less gothic horror than desired but you know what I'll take this <3) I first read this story when I was 14 and I 1000% BET I'll still be finding nuances and new details in the writing years into the future...

I had a lot of fun with the animation albeit just being a blink animation 😩👍 but blinks can be animated in a variety of ways! in terms of my animation skills, I do consider myself on the weaker side. so if i can integrate more animation frames into my illustrations, it'll help me become more familiar and comfortable with the medium. I especially like the difference in how many frames it takes for dark Alice vs white Alice to blink. I think the blinks came out fluidly and I'm quite satisfied with how this drawing came out!

GANGAN JOKER [WITH MOCHIZUKI JUN'S COMMENTARY] HAS RECENTLY ISSUED AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE NEXT RELEASE OF VANITAS NO CARTE CHAPTER ON TWITTER TODAY ⭐

To summarise the statement, there will be no chapter release on both September (22/8) and October issue (21/9). The cause of the 2-months hiatus implementation is due to MochiJun's health condition.

Furthermore, the author addressed the fact that she was suffering from a full-blown mental and physical ailment in the statement above. She also added the fact that she could not take a leave for various reasons.

MochiJun was aware that the readers might have to adapt to this unexpected news as time went by, however, she also reassured everyone that she did not lose her enthusiasm into working on her series. She talked about learning how to handle herself (maybe she meant by managing herself?) saying that if her health has gotten bad or gave out a danger signal, she will stop working (on her artworks) <- This could probably mean another hiatus or she might have to eventually stop working completely. She aimed for a stable serialization with a good change in pace and rest.

In the end, MochiJun apologised to the readers for their long anticipation and expressed her dissatisfying feelings over the constant notice of suspension along the way. She will be looking forward to the readers' continued support of the serialization of VNC.

Side note: I wish MochiJun well and speedy recovery 🙏🏼 I just hope she won't push herself even if she has to continue her works :((

* Gil really didn't want to dress up for Halloween, let alone walk around wearing a cardboard box, but Oz pleaded and begged, and those big emerald eyes were too cute to say no so Gil donned the box and bandages and the smile on Oz's face made Gil's Halloween 😁

Forever haunted (positive) by my conversations with @goforthequill about how Mochizuki Jun and Horikoshi Kohei should work together. Particularly to make a BDSM themed dating Sim (iykyk). It's one of those things I know will never happen but would be so perfect.
