When I read a YJ fic and I see show!Conner constantly be reffered as Kon by both the narrative and non-Clark people I need to take a deep breath and close the fic, cause clearly the author is not writing about cartoon!Conner.

transfem kon proposal could have been good if was good
#it was not. good#and i know theres a lot of transphobic assholes happy we didnt get it bc of that#but pretending that everyone who criticizes it is doing so only bc they cant handle kon being a trans woman. is just.#you cant see past the blind want for representation#again i would kill for canon transfem kon but everything about that idea was bad#and her characterization of kon was horrid and so clearly based on yj tv show#remember how when her first bit of kon writing came out and everyone was mad about it bc it was Bad and put him in a relationship with mgan#who he. never spoke to in comics before but suddenly theyre in an established relationship#and it was all around not good kon writing. but then the proposal came out and suddenly everyone is oh we were robbed..#as if anything about it was good except for the general idea of making kon a trans woman#also im sorry but i saw her replies on twt where she was saying being trans is about burning your past and leaving everything behind#or whatever. as if being trans is the same for all of us. and as if it makes sense for kon who isnt in a bad situation re family?#but of course it would seem that way if youre coming from yj tv show. where most of the clark and kon misconception comes from afaik#and her whole issue with conner and kon as his names? bc they were given to him by another person??#i know that we like. if we were to get trans woman kon. it would have to go with changing her name and everything#bc u know dc cant conceptualize any more complex trans person than someone who instantly changes their name and fully transitions in a sec#but the way she talked about the name issue as if its bad that clark named kon. as if he wasnt so overjoyed at getting that name.#'he said not to call him superboy and we kept calling him superboy!' girl he said that bc he wanted to be superman. of all the many ways#u can find trans allegory in kons story. that single line aint it#so sorry but every time im reminded of this i get so sad and disappointed u took the best concept and fucked it up so bad#and now all people think of when trans kon is mentioned is fucking sk*******#its so over (its not bc im about to forget about it again and ignore its existence)#txt#im sorry for being a bitch again but did u read that. thats not the kon we know. dont tell me thats the point bc its about transitioning bc#u do not become a whole other person when u realize youre trans#and sorry but i do think itd be nice to have trans kon without just turning him into a (new) oc

AUUUGGGH I FEEL SO SOFT AND GOOEY RN U CANT BE DOING THIS TO ME
the way that soobin’s post literally had me in shambles 😭 the bare face and the way he gently holds odi is soooo endearing, odi is so mf cute oh my gosh ;;;; (was lowkey hoping you’d make another silly bf! post when i saw it too lmaoooajssj)
idk what it is abt people and unconventional pets that i just love (it is in fact bc i too, have unconventional pets) but something about the whole “omg, i’m so nervous i just want to get along with their pet” is sooo cute and oddly domestic?? especially bc odi just immediately got along with the mc <///3 god that’s so cute grrrrkdhd
i need soobin to show odi more. thank u for feeding into my brain rot about this man, it was perfectly timed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i am back once again to pester you all with more boyfriend!soobin thoughts...meeting odi edition!
boyfriend!soobin who is so excited yet so, so nervous for you to meet odi, his cute lil pet hedgehog,, he knows that a hedgehog is not the most conventional pet, but once he see that you're just as eager as him, the nerves twisting his stomach into knots quickly fade away <3
boyfriend!soobin who decides to make a whole date out of it because why not? he takes you out to a cute lil cafe and then you go for a walk through a small botanical garden nearby, hand in hand and both of your sportimg bright grins as you talk. before you know it, you're heading back to his place, the sky above a bright, cloudless blue and the sun high in the sky, reflecting your lighthearted, giddy moods ^^
boyfriend!soobin who opens the front door for you while he warns you that his pet can be a bit...standoffish at first when meeting new people. he tells you about how the little guy bit yeonjun when he first met him, mimicking the screech that the older boy emitted when it happened. "soobin, am i gonna get rabies? oh my god! i'm gonna get rabies!" soobin dramatically mocks, loud enough for yeonjun to open his bedroom door and stare out at the two of you menacingly. you're nearly crying in laughter at the scene while soobin quickly drags you into his own room — but not without a quick, disingenuous "sorry, hyung!" before he's slamming the door shut..the two of you collapse into a heap of limbs onto his bed, laughing together until you're breathless <333
boyfriend!soobin who, once both of you calm down, guides you over to odi's enclosure and sits down cross-legged next to you, his knee bumping against your own. you watch quietly as he reaches down to pick the hedgehog up, cooing at how gently soobin cups him in his hands,, he asks if you'd like to try and hold him, too, and you nod, albeit a bit hesitantly. odi is adorable, but soobin's brief warning still rings in your mind...you just want odi to like you, okay? the corner of your boyfriend's lips curl up in a tiny, reassuring smile as he says that it's okay, you can work up to that, setting odi down so that he can wander
boyfriend!soobin who is astonished when odi immediately scurries up to you and tries to climb into your lap. you gasp quietly as you pick him up, the hedgehog adorably curling up in your palms before you set him down on your thighs, where he lays peaceful and unbothered. when you look back up at soobin, heart racing as you smile in disbelief, you find him wide-eyed, lips parted in shock at the sight. "he likes you already," he breathes, grinning as he watches his beloved pet allow you to gently pet his spines ^^
boyfriend!soobin who is so unbelievably overjoyed to see you and his pet get along <33 you soon become odi's second parent — that's your son now, too! sometimes you beg to go to soobin's place just to see him, and soobin likes to pout because why do you seem so excited to spend time with odi more than him?? he's your boyfriend, for crying out loud >:(( you simply laugh at him as you cup his cheeks, commenting about how cute he is as you press kisses all over his face just to make him feel better,, he giggles and his cheeks flush, a warm fondness coloring his gaze. he captures your lips in a brief kiss before you're pulling him from the couch and into his room <333333

Whoever said batfam was getting too chummy ur right. I want them to stop being happy now sorry
#first of all dick needs to be shot out of the fucking sky#DO NOT LET THAT NIGGA KEEP THOSE POWERS#like he obviously isn’t but I wish he didn’t have em in the first place that was stupid#I think cass should get more mommy issues. maybe smth happens and cass ISNT ready for it#and shivas like ur getting soft#and cass who knows she doesn’t wanna be a killing machine and can’t help but feel a lil relief about this#suddenly thinks of what would’ve happened if it was an attack aimed at a friend and she wasn’t ready#IK the steph being insecure thing is overblown but also nobody ever addresses that the root of that insecurity was tim and bruce dude#THATS WHAT I WANT I want her to look back on it and actually conceptualize just how fucked up they were towards her#but at present everything’s so chill does she rlly wanna stir the pot? and then when things start going to shit does she wanna make it worse#and spirals into perfectionism to prove them wrong about shit they don’t even care about anymore bc they kinda suck smh#Tim needs relationship drama and I don’t just mean mean Bernard I mean in general like family friends all of it#I want him to be in a fucking tizzy and I want it to be bc he’s being like Bruce specifically#yj feeling he only ever talks about cases anymore him feeling like he can’t relate to Bernard bc there’s nothing there outside of RR etc.#the solution for this one is for Tim to man up and talk about his issues but he keeps tryna avoid it by doing MORE work stupid ass#and he lashes out at everyone which makes it worse. I cannot stress enough that his problems are his fault here bro ppl may encourage him#but he is absolutely doing this to himself no damsel in distress shit here#DAMIAN. tired of the hes arrogant and needs to be humbled thing I need Damian to struggle with the idea that the ppl around him think he’s#intrinsically bad and needs to be fixed. like that’s an issue I want addressed immediately.#not to be biased but I either want Damian on a new titans team hanging out with the old TT (like being babysat) OR getting civilian friends#last one is so dear to me that fic where Duke took Damián out to Gotham I NEED Damian to find some friends there and love them and shit#I’m watching mystery Inc again I need Damian with a friend group like that#DUKE. I only want good things for Duke but yknow 💔 he should struggle with the isolation that comes with being the Day guy but also from#dealing with Gotham’s press as Bruce’s only blk kid (I don’t trust dc for this) and I want him to interact with other blk gothamites and#heroes. I want him to speak with onyx and talk about Orpheus (who’s area she took over btw). I want him to talk with Jackson and Wallace#specifically about how it’s hard to bring up the topic of their personal public relations due to their skin color. nobody understands how#you can FEEL the air shift when someone’s racist and no one understands how difficult it is to react right#anyways I think Jason needs to find out bruce revived joker. and nothing specific for dick idk idrc rn. make him a supporting character for#Damian specifically actually 🤩 and honestly just make him say two words the whole run he’s had enough. love him tho#imma be honest I haven’t read enough about Babs from her perspective to know her like that so do what u will

Marvel Cursing
You see, Marvel cursing, is a rare occurrence as the man’s swear vocabulary normally consists of “holy moly” and “oh my days” and “good gravy” and just things along those lines. So much so that JL kind of forgets that he can curse as he’s (supposedly) a grown ass man. As a result of this, it will give them major whiplash when Marvel does curse. And just for me, myself and I, whenever this happens, he pulls out the most midwestern accent ever. I say this cause Fawcett is somewhere in the Midwest.
Like let’s say Constantine and Marvel are talking and Clark is nearby doing whatever and after a bit, their conversation ends and Constantine walks off. As the blonde man is leaving, Clark hears Marvel fake a cough and mutter “bitchass” under his breath. It’s safe to say Billy’s still a little (a lot) mad about Constantine trying to take the living lightning from him. But anyways, hearing this, Supes stops whatever he was doing and slowly looks over to Marvel who’s kinda not really but also definitely glaring at Constantine as the man left. For the rest of the day, Clark kept side eying Marvel to see if he was mind controlled but then he remembered the Cap was a grown ass man and that he could cuss if he pleased. (None of the league knows he’s a child guys)
Or another time when Marvel was talking to Mary in the kitchen of Mount Justice. Kid Flash sped by just in time to hear Marvel say something along the lines of “Christ on a cross, what a dumb cunt” while sounding so disappointed in whoever that was directed at. Wally poked his head into the kitchen to see the two, Mary sitting by the counter and Marvel making some type of dessert. He was wearing a lightning bolt patterned apron and everything.
Kid Flash: “Heeeey guys… Whatcha talking about?” *has never heard Marvel curse once in his entire time of being their den mother so he’s naturally a little concerned*
Mary and Marvel: *share look before looking back at Kid Flash*
Mary: “We were talking about… uh… Your guy’s recent performance in field!” (They weren’t. They were actually talking about some crackhead who lived nearby them.)
Marvel: “Yeah, that.” *stops stirring batter in a bowl* “By the way, I’m making cookies, you want some later?”
Kid Flash: “Oh. Uh… yeah. Igottagobye.” *zooms off to the lounge*
Marvel and Mary: *both confused at the sudden departure, but shrug it off and go back to talking about the crackhead*
Kid Flash: *now in the lounge* “Guys- Guys!”
Other YJ members: “What?”
Kid Flash: “Marvel thinks one of us is dumb cunt!”
Other YJ members: “WHAT?”
They all ended up trying to do that thing where you subtly ask someone for information like “Hey, Marvel, how’d you think we all did during the last mission?” “You all did wonderful!” Safe to say it doesn’t really help them. Also neither Mary, nor Billy realize they just made these kids more insecure than their teenage brains naturally make them.

something nice — sub!fem!reader x dom!yeonjun x servicetop!kai
cw. reader is in an established (open) relationship with yeonjun, cucking? (kai eats reader's pussy while yj watches lol), cunnilingus ofc, nipple play, orgasm denial, edging, pet names (baby, jjun), begging, mention of "punishment" but nothing's ever done, yeonjun and kai talk about reader and what they're gonna do to her (without her understanding—everything is consensual in the beginning, but read note below), let me know if there's anything else. notes. IMPORTANT: ok so the tea with this one. the idea here is that the reader doesn't speak korean well and kai and yj are speaking korean to kinda talk about the reader and what they're gonna do to her so she doesn't understand. nothing aggressive, just describing what to do to her body so she's kinda surprised? SO!! anything in italics is in korean. thats important!! also idk how i feel about this???? smut under cut. wc. 1.5K
“Did she give you a reason or did she just break up with you?” You’re eavesdropping on Yeonjun and Kai—not that they’re being very secretive. They’re talking about a woman Kai’s been seeing while you play video games and attempt to translate in your head, but you're not being too successful, catching a few words here and there.
“She did say one thing,” Kai says hesitantly. “But it’s kinda embarrassing.”
“What is it?”
“Well,” he starts, scooting closer to Yeonjun to awkwardly whisper something to him, twiddling his thumbs, running his fingers through his hair.
“Oh,” Yeonjun chuckles. “That’s…man, if you get really good at that, you could date anyone.”
“What are you talking about?” You finally pause your game, curiosity getting the best of you. Looking up, Kai looks like you caught him stealing cookies from a cookie jar while Yeonjun tries to hold back a chuckle. The three of you exchange looks until Yeonjun rolls his eyes to bluntly say—
“Eating women out.”
“Yeonjun—!” Kai says, shoving his arm.
“What?” He chuckles, returning the shove. “I eat her out all the time. She knows what it is. She knows you eat pussy too.”
“But that’s why that woman broke up with you?” You ask. “Because you…you're bad at eating pussy?” He blushes, averting his attention to the floor while he clasps his hands together, nodding shyly.
“Be honest, babe—am I good at eating you out?”
Looking between the two of them, you sit up and say, “Yeah, you’re probably the best I’ve had, but we’re super compatible, you know? We’re, like, super in love. That makes a big difference sometimes.”
Holding back a cocky smile, he asks, “But, objectively, I’m pretty good, right?” You shrug and nod—really, he probably is the best you’ve ever had, but that’s another story.
“What makes it good?” Kai asks.
Humming, you think before saying, “First, he doesn’t go straight for it.” Turning red and ears getting warm, you gush and— “Oh god, Kai, don’t look at me when I tell you this.”
“Ah, this is ridiculous,” Yeonjun exasperates. “Do you just wanna practice on her?” You both whip your heads in his direction. “If you’re comfortable with it, of course,” he says to you. “Just thought it might be helpful.”
Oh, how did you end up here? Laying in Yeonjun's bed, clenching your thighs together out of nervousness. “Remember, this is kinda specific to her. Pay attention to what whoever you’re with wants.” Kai nods, kneeling at the foot of the bed.
“She already said this—” Yeonjun says. “I don’t go straight for it. I kiss her first, then make my way down there.”
“You want him to kiss me?”
He shrugs and says, “If you’re alright with that.”
“If you are,” you say, looking Kai in the eyes. Both of them can’t help but notice the confidence you seem to be exuding, especially compared to Kai. Trembling fingers reaching for your cheek, he looks at you for permission one final time. Finally leaning in, his lips press to yours.
You’d forgotten what it was like to have a first kiss with someone. Kai’s kisses are different from Yeonjun’s. Kai’s are much more cautious, more careful—not necessarily shy, but careful. It quickly turns hot and heavy. But you remember Yeonjun is watching you, suddenly overtaken with bashfulness, you break the kiss to glance over at him.
Him and that sinister smile.
Turning back to Kai, you crash into his lips again, humming into his mouth and smirking to rub how much you're enjoying this in Yeonjun's face.
“Touch her,” Yeonjun says. “Kinda slowly, but then a little more intense.” Kai does as he’s told, his hand dragging up your hip to squeeze your tits. “Under her shirt.”
His hand on the outside of your bra feels new and exciting. Reaching around your back to unhook it, you break the kiss to take your shirt off, pulling at the hem of his.
“Slow down for a second,” Yeonjun chuckles and Kai listens, placing gentle kisses to your collarbone. “Lick her nipples.” Swirling his tongue around your nipple, you gasp, reaching for his hair. “Pay attention to which one she likes better.”
Kai tests both, slyly licking between the two. After testing the waters, he picks correctly. You chuckle thinking about Yeonjun sitting on a chair across the room, smirking in approval. You could look for yourself, but you can’t bring yourself to open your eyes.
“Keep licking her until her hips roll.” This is a bit crazy, isn’t it? The guy you love telling another man how to fuck you the way you like. “Not yet.” Yeonjun switches to Korean, making you roll your eyes. If you didn’t have the energy to translate in your head earlier, you definitely can’t focus enough to translate now.
Lips trailing down your body, he tugs at your shorts, but keeps your cute pink panties on. Yeonjun talks him through every move—to lick his thumb and rub your nipple, to press his nose to the outside of your panties, to skate his lips across your inner thighs.
Your hips roll uncontrollably, practically begging him to taste you.
“Kai—” You whisper, your body instantly burning at the sound of the both of them chuckling. Pulling your panties down and off your legs, he throws them to Yeonjun who happily wads them up to sniff them and smell how delicious you are.
Licking his thumb again, he keeps rubbing circles over your nipple as he finally licks your clit, your back arching as soon as he touches it.
“Fuck—” You say breathlessly, looking down at him as his eyes sparkle up at you, your head dropping to your pillow with a thud. “Who the fuck is this bitch that says you’re bad at this?” He shakes his head, digging deeper into your pussy.
Smiling cockily, you look over at Yeonjun, trying to control his breathing. He can’t help it—the two of you are just too hot together. He's never been able to enjoy this kind of view before. Seeing how every part of your body reacts to being touched—it's an incredible view.
“Please tell me he’s allowed to make me cum, baby,” You beg.
“Of course,” he chuckles smugly. “If he can.” Kai’s eating you out like he’s absolutely starving. And it’s true—he can’t help it. You taste too fucking good.
Your eyes squeeze shut as you start squeaking, throwing your head back.
“Okay, that sound means she’s gonna cum soon. Try to bring her as close to the edge as possible and then stop.”
“Fuck, Kai,” you breathe. “Right there—yes.” You can’t believe how good he is at this, especially given the reason you're under his tongue right now. He’s supposed to be bad at this, right?
You’re so fucking close and he can feel it. “Don’t stop—” he brings you right there. And then he does it. He stops. “Agh, fuck you,” you groan. Looking down at him, his smirking at you, eyes flashing between you and Yeonjun.
He doesn’t waste too much time before getting back to your pussy, flicking his tongue over your clit.
“Take it away from her for a bit. Lick her nipples again.” He does just that. You’re aching, bucking your hips over and over, desperately trying to relieve some kind of tension. But his tongue does feel amazing on your tits. Threading your fingers through his hair, you tug at it hard. He groans, his mouth dropping open like you just unlocked a new kink of his.
Now he can’t take it anymore. Hips jutting forward, you feel the roughness of his sweatpants drag against your center, relieving some of that tension. You gasp, resorting to begging him to get back to licking you.
“No, don’t,” Yeonjun says sternly.
“But I want to,” Kai whines back, looking at your pussy hungrily, sticking the tip of his tongue out, giving his best begging eyes. But Yeonjun just shakes his head, satisfied with watching you uncontrollably rolling your hips up toward Kai’s mouth. Kai compromises, wrapping his hands around the backs of your thighs to yank you closer to him and presses his lips to the skin right around your clit, teasing you even more.
“Babe—” you breathe, begging Yeonjun with your eyes to let him continue licking you.
“I know, baby, I know…” he responds, his voice low and rough. He finally lets him lick you again. But he doesn’t show much mercy. He repeats the same tactic over and over—having him bring you right to the edge, even to the point of tears, then he stops right in his tracks.
"I'm gonna tell you to stop, but I want you to keep going, okay?" Kai nods, agreeing to his instructions. Bringing you to the edge again, you're begging for mercy, begging to cum. "Don't let her cum, Kai," he says, making tears form in your eyes. "Stop—"
And he does.
"I told you to let her cum that time."
"Sorry," he smiles up at him, licking his lips. "It's so fun to see her beg like that though." Tilting his head toward you, he says, "Look at her...she's got tears in her eyes. Isn't that the hottest fucking thing you've ever seen?"
"It's okay, baby," he says, fingers flowing through your hair while Kai's mouth finds your clit again. You're moaning, gasping for air, swearing, screaming, anything to try to find a release. "Not yet. Don't let her fucking cum, Kai." You don't think you can handle this much longer. Edging is nice, yes, but this? This is bordering torture.
"Please, please, please, Jjun..." you trail off. "Just please let me cum. I can't take it anymore."
"I know you can take it, baby. Fucking taking it so well..."
It's building again. That knot in your stomach that gets tighter and tighter with every second. That white hot fire in the pit of your stomach waiting to explode.
"Don't stop, Kai," you blurt. "I'm gonna cum—" Slamming your palm over your mouth—you shouldn't have said that. He's gonna make you regret saying that.
"Don't let her cum," he orders.
But his grip gets tighter. His tongue licks furiouser. His face digs deeper. You're so fucking close. Closer than you've ever been tonight.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, Kai..." your orgasms crashes over you like a bolt of lightning. "Yes, fuck yes, that feels so fucking good." You feel like you're having an out of body experience. It's one of the best fucking orgasms of your life. "Don't stop, right there." You chest heaves with heavy breaths.
Coming down from one of the best orgasms of your life, your vision clears up and all you keep thinking is how much Yeonjun's gonna make you pay for this. You came without his permission—what's he gonna do now? Everything flashes across your mind: not letting you cum for a week, spanking you until your ass had his hand print on it, tying you up for hours, you're not sure.
But he doesn't do any of that. His hand caresses your cheek as he smiles down at you, "Did that feel good, baby?"
Confused, you nod, "Mhmm." You're still nervous, looking around at everyone's reactions. Kai's smirking while he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. "Bad at eating pussy my ass," you say, shoving his shoulder with your foot.
"Ah, I knew you a had a little crush on him...I've seen how you look at him." Your face turns beet red. He's noticed that? Oh god... "I just wanted to do something nice for my baby."

Any ideas for Phantom's number 1 fan? I'm so excited to see Tim and Danny run into each other and figure out OH, so this is what's going on. And also being gay cuz would either of them mind too much about being married? Hey- wait- what's this about a child-
Cut to the watchtower just freaking out full panic. Oh God, the world is gonna end. How do we fix this so the ghost king doesn't kill us all???
John Constantine would go bald from how much stress hair-pulling he was doing. They have been searching for a solid week and have yet to find out where Batman's third son went.
He left a very tiny trail across Europe, seemingly as an art thief and hired assassin. It broke Batman's eldest son's heart whenever a new clue was phoned into the Watchtower, which did not make John feel better about placing a bounty on the kid's head.
It was a neceasery but with each passing day it became clear that no one truly understod the Young Justice Robin. He seemed to always be one step ahead of everyone, and covered his tracks so well that it would have taken them months, maybe even years to follow if they hadn't been looking.
But oh, were they bloody looking.
The entire league had come together to trace Young Justice Robin's path, turning two of the main conference rooms into the center hub for comparing and connecting clues.
It looks like a conspiracy theorist's wet dream in there.
Colored yarn strung around the room, screens displaying messages and photos of cities, and multiple tired-looking league members scrambling to make heads or tails of the new personality that YJ Robin had created in every new country.
Frankl, John was slightly impressed by how much work the kid was giving them. Even the tracking spells that should have pointed in his general direction failed because his soul was not being picked up on a global search whenever they cast it.
It was almost as if the kid had left their world. John wanted to hope that it meant he went to a different planet, but he never betted on a horse with a broken leg.
YJ Robin was trying to kill the Ghost King's fiancee, and despite the guards they placed around known stationed natural portals, he managed to slip through.
It was the only thing that made sense, but it also meant they were running out of time. His contacts on the other side had caught multiple whispers that the Ghost King's army was gathering and would be ready for combat any day now.
At this point, he wasn't even sure the King would listen, even if they did manage to stop YJ Robin. Higher beings took a insult far more serious then humans did.
"Well?" He asks just to be a ass when Batman son teleports in. He gone to speak to some Ghost hunter specilists. Not that John put much stock in thier ecto-research. He perfected magic through hard work and numours deals. The thought the scientist thought they could us maths to build similar defenses were laughable.
But the league was desperate for any form of defense against the army in case they could not please the King in time.
Nightwing—even in the Batman suit, John could only see the young man in Blue struggling to keep everything together—pulled a face. "The Fenton's technology is impressive but....they seemed to really empthis that they no longer build weapons. That it wouldn't work."
"I could you that. At the most, they could detect a ghost but that's only a few second before a deadful shiver ran down your spin anyway." John huffs rolling his eyes.
"No. I think they were lying. They seemed really determined to make me believe they had no real means of harming a ghost. And get this: The Fentons dismantled the ghost portal they claimed allowed them to enter a death dimension only two days before we arrived."
Nightwing says with a tone that would have sounded strange in his blue suit. On Batman, it's just the right amount of emotionless that John has to bite his lip to stop him from reaching out and yanking the kid into a hug.
The world was too unfair to the kind-hearted folk like Nightwing.
The boy dressed as a Bat continues, blissfully unaware of how much he breaks John's heart. "They claimed it never worked and were embarrassed they kept it up for so long. I asked Oracle to check their online presence, and they read a lot of articles that speculated what the Justice League was up to days before they tore it down."
Now, John frowned in thought instead of disapproval. He highly doubted those hacks had made an actual portal to the Infinite Realms but they had boasted about it for three full years on their website.
It was the reason the Justice League even bothered to approach them. So why now, did they suddenly tear it down?
"They're trying to cover something up." John concludes watching the other nod in agreement.
The other man's jaw tightens for just a second before he adds "Or they are coving for someone."
Shit.
"Kid made it to the ghost zone, didn't he?" John swears feeling his heart drop down to his knees.
"We can gather that Young Justice Robin has made his way to the Realms and is now an active threat to humankind's survival. He needs to be taken down by any means possible," Batman declares, his voice like breaking glass. It's sharp and cutting, like the shreds of whatever heart was left in Richard Grayson.
John wonders if Bruce knows his son has broken from wherever his soul rests.
"That would explain the army that has gathered under the Ghost King banner," John grumbles, hands twitching for nicotine. "My sources said they are all gathered and practically ready to march."
"Do you know how long we have before they are here?" Batman asks walking into the conference room and grabbing the attention of every gathered hero with one hand motion.
Everyone tenses in a way that could make the weakest of them choke. They know what it means.
A level ten threat will arrive.
They failed to stop the Third Robin. He managed to spend months doing whatever he pleased, and now that the League was paying attention, it was far too late.
Many of them would not survive the upcoming battle. Many of them who did would lose so many loved ones that it would be hard to decide if they should spend the last few hours on the battlefield or in the arms of their families.
Life, as they know, may come to an end. They could become the next Krypton. Somewhere in the crowd, Kara falls to her knees, sobbing and babbling to Roa, begging for her not to live through her planet's destruction again.
A few of the youngest members start to sob along side her.
Wonder Woman, who was standing next to Superman and Martian man hunter, clears her throat. Her eyes are as hard as steel, her stance unwavering under the pressure of hundreds of pairs of eyes that land on her, and when she speaks, it's like the banging of a drum.
"Warriors prepare for combat. We are at War."
__________________________________________________________
Tim doesn't think when he lands.
He scrambles to his feet, and rushes away from the portal as fast as he can, hoping to put as much distance as possible between himself and the Yetis.
His feet fall into the mud, splashing and nearly tripping him over. It darkens out, and there are no cars in sight, but the smell is familiar, and the feeling of the air is welcome.
Before Gotham stands in all her grey dangerous glory, just over a few hills. He is far from the city, on the outside of Crime Alley, he thinks, but he can see the Bat symbol flowing proudly in the sky, can make out Wayne Headquarters, his Nest, and Babs' Clocktower, and it's so amazing to finally be home.
He pushes his legs to go faster, climbing up the hills into the highway. The streetlight flicker as he rushes by, unafriad of coming trafic. No one goes this way anymore. Not since they turned it into a dead end long before Bruce's parents died.
There are patches of broken road pieces where grass and weeds are growing through, his feet slap against the multiple holes, ruining his momentum but Tim can hardly care.
Tim knows how to find Bruce now.
He can help bring him back from the timeline through the various clues his father figure has been able to leave over his adventures. Tim is so close now, he can actually see the finish line.
He just needs to get to the Cave- when Jason and the Demon are not there, preferably. Maybe Alfred would let him in. The old man had always had a soft spot for Tim- and he could build the machine he needed.
That's if he doesn't build it in his Nest.
Tim runs faster, feeling his lungs and legs burn. He doesn't pay it any mind. The time with the Yeti has made him stronger, likely due to the hours of soaking in some private reserve of Lazarus Pit, so he is going at a faster speed.
One that he had never been able to reach before. He was nothing like a speedster or even on his Red Bird, but damn if it isn't exciting to think he may be able to outpace Jason now.
As he approaches, the city becomes more prominent, shimmering in a faint green glow, as if welcoming him home. Tim's face breaks into a smile when he enters Crime Alley, passing the city limits. In Bruce's city, he is safe from Ra because even without Batman, the city has always shielded them from the Ghuls.
Bruce will be back tomorrow, here in the shadows of Gotham's darkness, protecting everyone, and Tim will finally be able to rest. Months of invading the Justice League, working with the League of Assiasn, the Spiders, and his own doubts were finally going to be behind him.
So close. So very close he could taste it.
A scream cuts through the air.
Tim slides to a stop, feet splashing against the puddles of dirty water he hadn't noticed, swinging his head in the direction it came from. Every part of him wants to ignore it because he has to focus on getting Bruce. He does, but the fear in that woman's voice is too thick to ignore.
He glances back to his Nest, torn between his duty and his heart, biting his lip, but a young whimper- a child likely- makes the choice for him. Tim changes directions, going into the alley and coming across a family of three in the middle of being mugged.
It's quick work to get behind the man waving the gun, silent as the shadows, he blends in to mask his presense. He stricks just as the fool pulls the triger, the loud bang echoing in the small space.
The woman screams again, this time louder, with far more fright in her voice, as the boy bursts into tears.
Thankfully, Tim had knocked off his aim, and the bullet bounced off the brick near the man- likely the father- who was standing in front of a frightened woman and small child in what could only be an attempt to protect them.
The brick shatters to peices as Tim reels back his fists, bringing them down in three swift but brutal punches and the gunman hits the ground with a loud thump.
He hadn't even had time to scream.
Tim huffs above him, and the large amount of running finally catches up to him. It's been a long time since he was so out of breath, though sprinting at full force for a solid nearly fifty minutes was a good enough reason.
"Is everyone alright?" Tim pants out, shaking out his hand in a showy way. After all, he wasn't wearing a mask, and right now, this needed to look like Timothy Drake got a lucky burst of adrenaline.
"Yes." The man breathes, sounding shocked. "Yes, we're fine. Thanks to you. Thank you so much, you saved our lives."
"Don't mention it. I'm glad I was in the right place at the right time." Tim looks up at him, twisting his face into the perfect meek civilian persona Timothy Drake is known for, and then feels all the blood drain from his face.
At that moment, he realizes two things.
One, Gotham was many shades of depressing but it was never green. Espcailly glowing green but while he had been runing he had swon he saw it shifted to sit behind a filter that made it appear as such.
And Two, Bruce looked a aweful lot like his father.
"Oh my boy." Thomas Wayne says, wrapping his arm around Martha and little Bruce Wayne's. He sends Tim another grateful warm smile. "I don't think you understand just what you've done here."
No, Tim thinks faintly I really don't think I do.

Somewhere in the far future, Danny Fenton wonders why his portal-making skill has stopped working. He used it regularly as his search and rescue means but ever since Robin fell into his arms half dead he had not been able to activeate it.
It was almost like it was stolen from him.
If only his parents hadn't dismantled the portal. He could ask Frostbite to check him over.

Can I? (kiss the hurt away)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YJ!Conner Kent x Spider!Reader
summary: you get hurt during a mission and Conner just wants to help. this finally brings you two together.
content/warnings: set in s1, lots of wounds, blood mentioned, awkward flirting…this was a shared prompt w my two besties, here’s my version! (I switched it up a bit), funny writing bc it’s from spider!reader’s perspective (mostly)
word count: 2.1k
a/n: FIRST CONNER FIC YAYAYYAYAYAY I hope people actually read for him lmaooo…enjoy!
Tumblr media
There's a ringing in your ear for a while, your vision blurred. Just as you come out of it there's a voice—
"You okay?"
One you're very familiar with.
You slowly blink your eyes open. You're not sure what the hell your enemy just blasted you with, but it was enough to knock you out and make everything hurt. A lot.
"Uhh I think so?" Conner watched the white eyes of your mask blink, he could tell you were in fact, not okay.
He could see it from a distance, the distance he unknowingly made while fighting. He promised himself he'd stay close at all times when the team was in danger, when you could potentially get hurt. And look at you now. His ignorance to what was going on around him got you hurt.
At least that's what he told himself.
You swat his hands as he starts fussing over you, too disoriented to think about the action. Until you see his hurt face. He was only trying to help.
But Conner thinks, you were pushing him away, and rightfully so when he's the reason you're hurt in the first place.
"No no it's-" you heave a rugged sigh, your lungs feeling heavy. "I'm just out of it. Sorry. What was that guy packing in his gun anyways?"
Conner's reluctant in his assistance to you now, but you encourage him with a smile. He lifts you to your feet, securing an arm around your waist to ensure you wouldn't fall back down. You definitely weren't in a state to be walking and that's proven when your legs wobble and all your weight falls onto him. Something he doesn't mind and in a different situation would smile at.
But you hiss as his pulls you up, and he's brought back to reality.
"Thanks Con-man." Another smile for him and his shoulders relax.
"I have no idea what that man was packing in his gun. All I know is it hurt you...really badly. You were out the rest of the fight."
"I was?" A quick look around and sure enough, you were. The quietness of the area should've been a clear sign there was no longer a battle going on.
"Looks like I was." And suddenly the team is behind you. It's a miracle the rest of them avoided getting hurt the way you did (which was a little embarrassing considering your spider senses).
"You alright, Spidey?" Wally and Artemis ask at the same time, they glare at each other for it.
"Jinx. Artemis, you owe me a soda."
"I do not-" you cut them off, ending the argument before it could start.
"Yeah I'm alright." But the way you leaned heavily onto the SuperBoy and breathed unevenly told a different story. Although that was nothing new, was it? You somehow were constantly hanging off the boy one way or another (not literally...though you wish it was).
"Are you sure? We'll have you get checked back at headquarters," Kaldur speaks. You simply nod, too weak to really do much else.
Robin was looking worriedly, trying to hide it but you could see right through him. You shot him a smile.
While the team discussed what to do with the bad guy, you stayed with Conner. There was an awkward silence until he spoke up, having enough of your small hisses and puffs at his side.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know, everything? I'm hurting everywhere," you were practically mumbling, fatigue evident with every word you spoke.
He huffs and places you on the floor again, carefully avoiding any rubble from the fight. Another pained hiss from you.
"Sorry sorry, I know," he's trying to figure out his next move. "I don't know how to make it better."
You shake your head, "that's alright Conner. You don't need to, you're not a doctor or anything."
And yet he looks guilty, like your wounds and the fact that he hasn't already done something to ease the pain was his fault. He eyed the arm you've been holding around your abdomen this whole time.
"You being here right now is enough. I promise. And this," you lift your arm finally, making a soft noise of pain in between, "it'll go down by tomorrow-"
"Shit! When did that happen?" His voice startles you, the sudden noise rattling your probably concussed brain. You finally look down to see blood dripping from a scratch in your suit.
"Shit. When did that happen? How..."
"I didn't realize it was that bad. I'm sorry."
"No Conner, it's okay-"
"Can I?"
"Huh?" And Conner is gesturing to your mask, your eyes widen.
"You're breathing too heavily for it to be comfortable. Please?" He wouldn't say part of it was because he needed to see your face to comfort him.
You nod.
He doesn't freak out when he takes it off, so that's a good sign.
"How do I look?" he doesn't answer for a few seconds, he's carefully observing your face it seems. You can't help but smile.
And he smiles back, "still beautiful as ever."
"Okay lover boy," you desperately wish the mask was on, if only to hide your timid expression. "You don't need to flatter me."
Conner clears his throat quickly, awkwardly. As if he didn't realize he said it out loud.
He really didn't mean to. But seeing how shy and...dare he say happy you looked after he said it, he thinks it wasn't such a bad thing.
"You have a few scratches. But you're still-"
"Beautiful as ever, yeah yeah I heard you," maybe he wasn't going to say it again, but you weren't going to risk it. You don't think you could take it if he said it. You'd probably do something stupid like kiss him—
He swallows thickly, still embarrassed. "We need to get you back," he goes to pick you up, only this time it's not so you can stand upright. No. He's preparing to carry you bridal style. Oh no. Now you really might kiss him (that is if you don't pass out within the next few seconds). "Can I carry you? I don't think you're in good enough shape to walk right now."
"Rude."
"No I didn't mean-"
You laugh, maybe a little meanly, you knew he wasn't good on certain social cues yet, making teasing him easy, "sorry- I know what you mean. Yeah it's...alright. You can totally carry me." Now you were beginning to feel awkward.
He picks you up easily. And you're starting to agree with him, you definitely weren't in any shape to walk if him lifting you was enough to make you dizzy.
You weren't kidding yourself when you said you'd pass out before you could kiss him.
Your head lays comfortably on his chest...right over his heart which happened to be beating like crazy.
Was that your doing? You really hope so.
He carries you a little behind the rest of the team, murmuring reassurances and praise. 'You did good back there.' 'You're gonna be okay, I'll make sure of it.' 'Stay close to me okay? I'll make it better.'
Bioship took you all back to Mount Justice, M'gann talking your ear off the whole time. Starting with worried rambles about how hurt you looked and fading into a new tv show she got into. One she wished her people on Mars could enjoy.
Usually you wouldn't mind it, but you could feel an oncoming headache the whole ride. You didn't have the heart to tell her to stop nor that you weren't really listening. Not feeling bad only because Wally seemed enthralled with her storytelling (suck up) and flirted here and there.
You were too busy focusing on your shadow anyways. Aka the SuperBoy who refused to leave your side and was quite literally on you the whole way. Between him, M'gann, and Wally's flirting with her (and Robin's occasional butting in to tease) you were surprised you didn't go insane on the ride back.
When you did get back, they told you it was bad (fatal for a normal person) but nothing you couldn't handle. Just a broken rib (unfortunately common for you) and a slight concussion. Great. Accompanied with bruises and the big gash on your abdomen. That weapon really did a number on you. Conner went off on the adults for saying it was "nothing you couldn't handle" because you were "on the brink of dying". Which is a bit dramatic, but having him be so protective over you was kind of nice...or whatever.
They suggested you took a break for a week and a half (a conclusion you came to after you'd negotiated with them for a good 5 minutes. because who do they think they were benching you—for good reason—for 2 weeks?!) should a mission come up within that time.
You sighed on the couch, everyone was either in their rooms or went home for the day. They said their goodbyes and wished you well, to which you replied 'pfft I'll be better by tomorrow. just watch.' It would be really embarrassing if you weren't better by tomorrow...you unfortunately bet money on it. Stupid.
"You okay?"
"A little better now. Thanks for taking care of me."
"I wish I could've done more...I said I would but all I did was sit back and watch everyone else take care of you." This was clearly eating at him, although it's a wonder why.
Nothing about the situation was his fault nor should he feel guilty about "not doing enough."
"Conner, I told you it's alright and that you being there for me was enough. And I meant every word."
He sits with you, thigh to thigh with his head in his hands.
You pat his shoulder, "it's alright big guy. I'm okay, I'll be fully recovered soon."
"Not soon enough."
You sigh, he could be really stubborn sometimes. Frustratingly so.
"Con, please. Look at me?" He listens. And you regret asking him. You hate the look in his eyes, or rather you hate the way it makes you feel. Another case of you're going to kiss him if he keeps this up.
How could such a big, stubborn, and (apparently) non-affectionate guy have the biggest puppy eyes? Ones that have you melting.
His face is now in your palms. With the way he's looking at you, surely he wouldn't mind if you gave in and...kissed him, right?
"Can I kiss you?"
He's stunned for a moment before finally speaking up, "isn't it obvious that I want you to?"
You both share shy smiles thinking, finally.
You lean in, hands still cupping his face, his now doing the same.
Although the kiss was a little awkward, the two of you not exactly experienced in that department (him coming out of a literal tube only months ago), as well as a little...messy—it was everything you could've wanted in your first kiss with him. A kiss that was going to be the start of the two of you. SuperBoy and the Spider. You hated how warm the thought made you.
You were practically radiating giddiness, Conner could feel it. He pulled away still smiling, "I've wanted to do that for a really long time now."
"Me too. You know what also was great about that? You kissed my ouchies away. I'm all better now."
"Ouchies? What are we, five?"
There's silence, not of awkwardness, but from two of you reeling from the kiss, processing the fact that it was real.
"I don't want to be the one to break this up but...we should really get to bed. With your concussion and training being early tomorrow..."
"Yeah, of course," the giddiness hasn't left, "would you uh...want to come? With me? To bed."
"Gee Spider, at least take me to dinner first."
"Oh, so he's got jokes now?"
"Only for you, babe."
"Ew, you sound like Wally."
"Ouch? Don't insult me like that," but he doesn't look offended in the slightest. There's probably the biggest smile you've seen on his face, ever.
Safe to say it was not fun explaining why Conner was in your bed the next morning, trying to convince everyone it was purely innocent.
Batman was disappointed, reminding you that you needed to wait until you were healed before you did anything physical. Haha. Very funny.
And the team snapped pictures that they would definitely use against Conner (seeing as he was the more...emotionally constipated and reluctantly affectionate one).
But you honestly couldn't be happier. And neither could he.

does it seem a bit rushed at the end? unfortunately
do I have the patience to fix it? no
hope you enjoyed :D

hc. how i imagine yj girls in relationships post-crash (nat, jackie, tai, van, shauna, lottie. pre-crash here & here.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: fem!reader, nsfw references, but nothing crazy. mention of drugs, alc. ooc, possibly? shauna pregnancy, not proofread cause I’m tired reminder that reqs are open pookies ily
SHAUNA
𓇼 After the crash, physical touch and intimacy with Shauna would become such a staple and comfort within your relationship. Holding hands, cuddling at night, touching forehead to forehead- anything to know that you’re near, you’re okay, you’re her’s.
𓇼 Shauna would be the type to love doing chores with you, 100%. Sitting together while you scrub laundry, or having you near her when she has to butcher up meat that Nat caught. She’d be re-reading her own journal entries too, letting you look at pages from old dates or soccer games, laughing at her dorkiness and nervousness from before you started dating.
𓇼 Although, I feel like Shauna would harbour a lot of guilt after everything that happened. You would have to be the voice of reason at times as her anxiety gets a hold of her, even more so after she finds out she’s pregnant. Having you as her rock and confidant would really help Shauna, just making you love her all the more.
𓇼 I feel like Shauna could grow really possessive and crave dominance as everything plays out. Shauna’s feeling that she lacks control after everything would really affect your relationship, with Shauna growing more protective and even controlling. Strongly urging you not to leave the cabin (or her sight), and insisting she’s the one in control whenever you’re intimate. She would still be gentle and soft, but her fear of loosing you as well as loosing control of her life would really fuck with her.
𓇼 This would probably lead to some jealousy, too. If you’re around another girl more often than normal, going scavenging with them or getting help from them instead of Shauna for whatever reason Shauna could end up a little salty. “Why don’t you get Natalie to help you, since you seem to love hanging out with her?” (said as she cuts a deer apart). Shauna would be quick to snap out of it, though- playfully blame it on pregnancy hormones and stress while pecking your lips.
𓇼 Lots of university and future talk while you’re bored. You’d have to help Shauna sort out the whole Brown V Rutgers situation, but with all the free time in the wilderness what better to do?
𓇼 The amount of trauma bonding for you and Shauna specifically is crazy. She has it worse off than the others, with the unexpected baby- and you, having to find out that your girlfriend’s pregnant to some guy from before you were dating and having to help her through that. Though, after all was said and done, your relationship would be invincible, likely staying strong long after being rescued.
TAI
𓇼 When in the wilderness, you'd always feel safe with Taissa. She's always been a natural born leader, even since before the crash, and nothing would have changed. You'd always be able to trust Taissa to make rational, sensible and grounded decisions. AKA, she's your rock.
𓇼 Despite the tension of the day in the wilderness, you'd be met with soft cuddles and touches in the night with Tai. Talking about anything and everything, just to unwind and relax. You'd be the only one to see a softer, less rational and more emotional side of Taissa- the inklings of the girl you knew pre-crash.
𓇼 I feel like the danger and gravity of being stuck in the wilderness would cause Tai to be more affectionate, too. Realizing that anything could happen at any time, she'd definitely be more mindful of her time with you and how limited it could be with their jeopardized situation in the wilderness.
𓇼 Taissa's somewhat domestic and mature temperament from pre-crash would linger, too. Waking up before you and leaving a small glass of water by your makeshift bed, always making sure you're wearing enough layers before going out or giving you some of her food if she thinks you didn't get enough. She'd always nonchalantly shrug it off, though.
𓇼 However, maintaining somewhat of a leadership position within the group would put a lot of stress on Taissa which would no doubt lead to conflicts within your relationship. Tai might say something she really doesn't mean, or distance herself from you. However, the wilderness makes it hard to run, forcing her to confront your issues and ultimately apologizing.
𓇼 Taissa's fiercely loyal to you post crash, creating an almost 'Us VS The World' dynamic. She'd confide things in you that she wouldn't with Lottie or Shauna, tell you things she disagrees with that they've done or share plans with you that she wouldn't tell anybody else. You and some others would become this tight knit group within the other yellowjackets, but ultimately Taissa trusts you greater than anyone else.
𓇼 Intimacy with Tai in the wilderness would be intense and deliberate. I get the feeling she'd want to be the dominant one, the one to take charge, as a way of regaining a sense of control in her life. Sex would come as a comfort too, a brief distraction to the chaos of the group's situation.
VAN
𓇼 As soon as the plane collides with the ground and Van's able to get out of her seat, she's hunting you down to make sure you're okay. Van can't resist being you knight in shining armor, and during the plane crash it's only amplified tenfold. She's screaming your name, helping a few others as she weaves through the cabin until she finds you- carrying you or dragging you away from the wreckage (and crying a little, I fear. Poor girl was terrified). No way would Van let you out of her sight, at least not for at least two days after.
𓇼 Van would prioritize your wellbeing over hers, too. Not majorly, just small gestures that remind you that you're her number one. Van went out scavenging, and found some wild berries? She'll try them (or make someone else try them) before giving you any. If an item of clothing gets ruined, she's quick to lend you hers.
𓇼 Nighttime in the wilderness means having Van cling to you full throttle. I'm talking so closely that if you need to leave for the bathroom or grab something from across the attic, you'd have to pry her fingers off your body one by one- met with a sleepy groan and a not so soft request to 'get your ass back over here' as she feels the mattress dip beside her.
𓇼 I get the idea that Van would organize little faux dates, too. A small picnic comprised of berries and edible looking leaves held near the large lake near the cabin, or dragging you out as the sun sets to swim with her or go on a walk. Van makes it clear to you that you're still her girlfriend, and no amount of stranded-in-the-wilderness-ness would change that. She makes it clear she still loves you, rambling on about everything you'll do together when help finally comes.
𓇼 Van's super protective and tough, but she'd be the one to cope with everything using humor. In the wilderness Van's great at controlling the group's mood, spreading her optimism and making everyone, especially you, laugh with her crude dark humor. Something that would stay consistent both pre and post crash is her love of chasing you with bugs, too. Also, when you get bored or sad, best believe that Van's reciting your favorite movies to you as stories as well.
𓇼 However, underneath her goofy demeanor Van seems quite grounded and realistic. She's aware you're both in danger, and she knows that you could be out there for god knows how long which is why she's so overprotective of you. Van could go overboard sometimes, only out of worry.
𓇼 Her defensive and protective nature could become overbearing at times, but only because she's scared shitless of loosing you. How could she risk you when she can't imagine a future after being rescued without you? You would have to remind Van a few times that yes, you can manage on your own, and she just needs to trust you.
𓇼 Also, I 100% believe Van brought her strap on in her luggage. Just saying. She'd definitely turn sex into a playful, comforting thing between you two- initiating with kisses or play wrestling while you two are tucked away in the attic of the cabin.
LOTTIE
𓇼 Being with Lottie after the crash and slowly watching her change from the girl you knew would be odd. For better or for worse, a power dynamic would quickly be established between you two as the group turns more cult-ish and she has her visions. However, the Lottie you knew pre-crash would still be around, just fewer and further between as time goes on. In the early dates after the crash she'd be more or less the same- maintaining her wit and sarcasm.
𓇼 If you were like Natalie and grew to be more skeptical of her beliefs, there would be incredible tension that would eventually drive you apart-possibly to be reunited after being rescued and Lottie gets back on her medication.
𓇼 However, if you get sucked into everything then I feel like you'd end up as Lottie's right hand man. She would be fiercely protective of you, believing you belong to her and her only- as well as never letting any of the other girls as much as touch you, meaning you'd be isolated from the other cult 'activities'. (The wilderness said so, duh.)
𓇼 When she's not full cult-leader mode Lottie would maintain her playfulness with you- insisting she gives you a kiss before you leave the cabin for good luck, or taking you out on a walk where she points out certain things she sees in nature while holding your hand, keeping you comfortable tucked into her side.
𓇼 Seeing snippets of how Lottie used to act as she teases you for how you sleep or run after a rabbit, celebrate after catching a fish from the lake with your hands or pout as you realize someone's using your beanie would, for a second, give you a sense of normalcy.
𓇼 At times you'd catch Lottie just admiring you from afar as you go about your chores in the cabin, a soft smile gracing her lips as she scans your features. Having your partnership as a constant through all the chaos going on in her mind would help Lottie more than you can imagine, and she takes plenty of time to appreciate you for that.
𓇼 I get the idea that sex would become a very spiritual or ritualistic thing between you and Lottie. She'd be delicate, each move having meaning- maybe dragging you to certain locations to do it or whispering things into your ear. The whole experience would be sensual, intimate yet still loving and reminiscent of how she was to you before.
NAT
𓇼 Even in the most dire situations (AKA a literal plane crash hundreds of kilometers away from anything or anyone else), you can count on Natalie to be a total tease. The familiar banter between you two would far from cease, and Natalie would revel in the familiarity it gives her- a sense of normalcy amongst the chaos.
𓇼 However, pretty early on it becomes clear that Natalie has a real no-bullshit, survival first attitude- always choosing the brutal, sometimes ugly truth and plan of action rather than an optimistic, watered down version like Jackie, for example. It's reminiscent of her straight to the point attitude pre-crash, just amplified. This sometimes means making decisions for you and the group that you may not be a fan of; like choosing to be a hunter and work the gun despite any protests you have that it's dangerous. She'd be quick to shrug you off in those scenarios, which seems harsh but in reality Natalie's just doing her part to keep everyone safe.
𓇼 A part of being with Natalie post crash would mean helping her when she starts to struggle without her vices- drugs, alcohol. Her secret stash could only last so long. Having you there to help her get used to full sobriety and cope with not having any of it would mean a lot to Natalie.
𓇼 I feel like you, her girlfriend, would be one of the only people Nat's not really crass and argumentative with. Nat would let herself be vulnerable with you, curling up to you at night or seeking you out after a hunt to just relax and actually acknowledge how she's feeling.
𓇼 Natalie would be the type of girlfriend to drag you away from the cabin at night for walks or swims like Van would. Natalie really savored those serene moments alone with you pre-crash where you'd be lying on the roof of her trailer or skipping a class together underneath the bleachers meant a lot to Natalie, so being able to sneak away from the other girls and just be with you is something she'd do often.
𓇼 Both pre and post crash Natalie aren't too good at traditional romantic gestures or words, so little remarks like "You're not so bad, you know?" or "Stay close. Tai would beat my ass if I lost you out here, or whatever," made with a little grin and a squeeze of her hand in yours are her ways of saying 'I love you. Be safe'.
𓇼 Since a love of music would have been a staple in your pre-crash relationship, hearing you hum a song or talk about an album would bring Natalie lots of comfort and joy. I can imagine nights with her in the harsh winter as you're curled up together, her soft voice in your ear asking you to sing or hum something for her. She's a softie, deep down.
𓇼 Nat's argumentative, bold and unapologetic nature could cause some problems between you two in the wilderness, but due to the forced proximity she'd be fast to apologize. More often than not these scenarios lead to Natalie on top of you, both locked in a passionate and desperate kiss while she works her hands on you. The sex would be a distraction for you two more often than not, rough with clear undertones of love and care.
JACKIE
𓇼 I’m of the firm belief that if you were in a relationship with Jackie, she’d have been sitting on your lap as the plane went down. Diva cannot take her hands off you even for a second (maybe just to put her overhead mask on).
𓇼 Unlike most of the other Yellowjackets, I feel like Jackie wouldn’t change much compared to her pre-crash self. She’s still fun loving and incredibly touchy, which provides a great reassurance to you- even if she’s not the best helping the group out.
𓇼 Despite everything, Jackie would do her best to emanate the romance you two had before the crash, maintaining her flirty personality with you. Fleeting touches, pecks and kisses whenever she can, cheeky comments when you’re trying to do your chores. She’d still try and make herself look pretty for you too- using whatever was left of the little makeup she had packed for nationals.
𓇼 Jackie would probably end up following you around like a little dog when you’re busy, though. We know Jackie struggles with the physical labour aspect of the wilderness, so chances are she’d lean on you for a lot of things. Chopping timber? The axe is too heavy, you need to do it for her. Cooking something? It’s too hot, she doesn’t like to sit so close. Jackie could become a bit whiny, but you’re probably used to it by then. She’s also a total princess when she’s on her period, too. Literally becomes immobile.
𓇼 Jackie’s habit of shutting you out when she’s mad or giving you petty silent treatment would continue through even after the crash, I fear. Again though, after realising how serious everything is becoming she’d be quick to snap out of it with a cute apology and a flurry of kisses to your face.
𓇼 Problems could arise within your relationship as sometimes it can seem like Jackie doesn’t take the whole ‘stranded with limited resources’ thing seriously. It would be easy to get angry at Jackie, but after a well needed wake up call from you she’d be eager to help around the cabin.
𓇼 Jackie’s sex drive wouldn’t falter after crashing at all. She’d be trying to initiate just as much as she used to back home, although probably with a lower success rate. She’d try to tease you by suggesting doing it outside or sneaking out to get some ‘alone time’, or saying that she’s too cold and needs you even closer. For warmth, of course- totally not so she can nuzzle her hands up your shirt under your bra.
𓇼 Between you two, there would probably be a lot of crying. Having each-other for comfort would really strengthen your relationship. Although, trauma bonding is a key point in relationships with any Yellowjacket…

“You are so full of shit,” you laughed, pushing Yeonjun's shoulder. The tall dark-haired man looked at you in shock before turning to the blond male next to him who seemed silly uninterested in the conversation at hand.
“Soob,” he whined, sounding like a child tattling to his parents, despite being the older of the two. “She's being mean!” He glowered in your direction as Soobin, who had been twisting pieces of grass together with no goal in mind, sighed heavily. “You’re being annoying,” Soobin said softly, not even looking up.
“Will you please tell her it’s true though?!” Yeonjun said, nudging Soobin’s knee. The younger man looked down at his black pants, noticing a few specks of dirt on the material. “Yah,” he said in a low tone as he brushed them away. “Don’t touch me with your dirty feet.”
Yeonjun groaned, dramatically, throwing himself back on the grass and hitting his head with a dull thud which sounded like it hurt. Your suspicions were later confirmed when he let out a groan, lifting his head to rub the back of it. “Ow,” he murmured.
You rolled your eyes, looking at Soobin who exchanged looks with you.
You had learned pretty quickly that Yeonjun was often dramatic for effect and that Soobin didn’t fall victim to it which in turn made you not fall for his act. “What are you doing?” Yeonjun asked, looking at Soobin’s hands. The blond looked up at him with an uninterested look on his face.He glanced down at the blades of grass in his hands, twisted together like some early stage rope.
“Nothing,” Soobin said, tossing the grass in Yeonjun’s direction. The older man clicked his tongue as one of the blades fluttered through the air and landed on his leg. “Don’t put your grass on me,” he said in a gruff voice as he brushed it away. Soobin wordlessly reached out, grabbing a handful of grass and ripped it up from the ground before throwing it at Yeonjun.
It rained down on him like green confetti. “YAH!” Yeonjun said, sitting up quickly. You picked up a clump of dirt and flicked it at him. “Calm down,” you said in a monotonous voice. Yeonjun glared at you before settling back on his elbows. “He’s rubbing off on you too much,” he said, nodding pointedly at Soobin.
You had met the two a few years back. They were what the residents of your town called ‘drifters.’ They moved from town to town, never staying too long. Nomadic was another word you heard thrown around. Except for the fact that Yeonjun and Soobin had been living in your small mountain town for nearly three years now.
They hadn’t been able to find an apartment since your town had one apartment building and land was too expensive so they lived in the only motel in the town, sharing one room with two beds. The motel was old, outdated, and didn’t see a lot of visitors. Only the occasional drifters.
The town itself was an old mining town and from the mid 1800’s to the beginning of the twentieth century, it was a prosperous town. But just after the start of the Great War, it fell onto hard times when all the able bodied men were pulled and made to serve. When they returned at the conclusion of the war, the town had been reduced to nothing more than a shell of its former self.
You were born and raised there. It was all you knew. You had been one of the fortunate ones to leave upon graduating high school and attending college in the next town over, gaining new experiences and meeting new people. Afterwards, you landed a job in the city and moved much further away from home.
After a couple years, you returned to your hometown when your mother got sick and your father was unable to work and take care of her. Thankfully, you were able to find work in the next town over which was only an hour commute in the morning and the evening. You moved back into your childhood home, updating your old bedroom.
Just before you met, Yeonjun and Soobin, your mother’s health had taken a turn for the worse and she ended up being hospitalized and passed away. You had every intention of moving back to the city and trying to get your old job back but you found yourself unable to leave your father like that.
It was just you and your father for a while and then one night when returning home from work, you found your father unconscious on the kitchen floor. Paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. In less than two years, you lost both your parents.
You inherited the house but you spiraled into a deep depression. Your boss and co-workers were understanding, giving you time to grieve and even allowing you to work from home as your depression worsened. It was hard to even pull yourself out of bed and oftentimes, you thought about driving out to the old quarry and ending it all.
During one of these visits that you ultimately chickened out of, you found yourself at the twenty-four hour diner in town. You walked in, taking a seat at the bar and ordering a single mug of coffee. As you sat there, behind you, in the back corner booth sat two men who were clearly annoying one another but when you looked, you could tell they were quite possibly the best of friends.
You knew you’d never seen them before and when they noticed you noticing them, it was like a lightbulb went off and an instant connection was formed. They moved from the booth to take a seat on either side of you. One of them, Yeonjun, noticed how you looked like hell. The other, Soobin, told him to knock it off and asked you the most mundane of questions.
“Are you okay?”
His inquiry made you break down in the middle of the diner and it was then they forced you to sit at the booth with them and you poured your entire soul out onto the table over ice cream, pie, and coffee until at least four in the morning. That night, your life was forever changed by these two and the three of you became as thick as thieves… whatever that meant. You always heard people say that but never knew what it actually meant.
“Earth to Y/N,” Yeonjun’s voice broke through, knocking you out of whatever trance you had been in. You looked at him staring at you with a dumbfounded look. “What the hell is your problem?” he asked, hissing in pain when Soobin pinched his ankle. “Stop being such a dick,” Soobin said softly, brows furrowing as he glared at Yeonjun.
“Sorry,” you said softly. “I was just disassociating.” Yeonjun narrowed his eyes. “You’re not thinking about jumping into the old quarry again, are you?” he asked, earning a slap from Yeonjun. “What?!” Yeonjun yelped, holding his arm where Soobin’s hand had made contact.
You simply laughed, drawing their attention. Yeonjun looked alarmed but Soobin’s expression softened. “I’m fine, guys,” you said, waving your hand and dismissing their concern. “I was just staring off into the void.” Yeonjun snorted. “Did it stare back?” he asked. You shook your head.
“No,” you answered. “She was polite and didn’t make eye contact.”
Yeonjun nodded before clearing his throat. “Anyway,” he said loudly. “I was trying to tell you Soobin and I know it sounds ridiculous,” he added. “But there really is something that lives in the mines.” You glanced at the taller of the two who rolled his eyes. “Rats,” he said softly. “Rats live in the mines, Jjun,” he countered. Yeonjun glared at him. There was a look there, an understanding that happened in a split second that you didn’t seem to pick up on.
“Oh, you’re talking about that,” Soobin said suddenly, making you look up, snapping your attention to him. “What?” you asked, glancing between the two. “What is he talking about? What’s that?” you asked. Yeonjun smiled slowly, turning his attention to you. “Some say it’s a monster,” he said nonchalantly. “Others say it’s a man.”
It was your turn to roll your eyes. “You’ve lived in this town for what? Three years?” you asked, raising a brow at him. “What would you know of our folklore?” Yeonjun pretended to look offended. “Your tiny town is famous all over the mountain,” Yeonjun said, pausing for dramatic effect. “And besides,” he continued. “Don’t you know all these mines connect to one another via the natural cave system?”
You perked up at that. “Wait,” you said softly, turning to look at Soobin. “Is that true?”
The blond man sighed, glaring at Yeonjun before turning to look at you. “Yes,” he said softly. “The mines are all connected, theoretically,” he said, emphasizing the last word and looking at Yeonjun as if to make a point. “No one has entered one mine and exited another from a different system.” You relaxed back into the grass. “That’d be pretty cool if they did,” you said softly.
Your eyes fluttered shut as you enjoyed the light breeze of early autumn.
“Why don’t we check it out?”
Your eyes snapped open and you lifted your head to look at Yeonjun. “Are you nuts?” you asked. “When did you become a spelunker?” Yeonjun snorted as he pulled himself up, crossing his legs as he sat on his backside. “I’ve always been interested in caves,” he pointed out. “And the mines.”
You sat up too, completing the trifecta of you sitting in the shape of a triangle, facing an invisible center between you. “What’s so interesting about the mines?” you asked. “They’re always a hotbed of activity,” Yeonjun replied. “People died down there,” he continued. “They’re probably, like, hella haunted.”
Yeonjun let out another yelp as he received a second slap from Soobin. “You’re right,” the younger male started. “People died down there.” Yeonjun rolled his eyes. “Not anyone we know,” he retorted. Soobin threw a look in your direction. You waved your hand. “My family were all white collar workers,” you said quickly. “My parents moved here when mom was pregnant with me. None of my relatives died down there.”
“Come on!” Yeonjun said excitedly. “Let’s explore it!” Soobin looked at you hesitantly. “I don’t know…” he trailed off. He looked extremely apprehensive. Like he was worried about you. “It’s fine,” you said, reaching out to take his hand. “I’ll be fine, Binnie,” you continued. “I’m a big girl. And besides. I wanna see the mines!” Soobin moved his hand, lacing his fingers with yours.
“You’re absolutely sure?” he asked. You nodded, smiling widely at him. “Yes,” you answered. “It sounds like a lot of fun!” Yeonjun smiled triumphantly, looking at Soobin with a smug look. “See?” he said softly. “I told you she’d be down!” You were almost bouncing where you sat on the hard ground, the sun setting behind and casting a golden glow over everything.
“Fine,” Soobin said, a soft wind picking up around the three of you, the leaves on the trees rustling slightly. The orangish glow hit both Soobin and Yeonjun and made them look almost… ethereal and you could have sworn you saw their eyes flash for the briefest moment to match the orangey- gold color of the setting sun.
“Let’s do it tomorrow.”
The next day, you packed some clothes, tight fitting and warm for the trip down into the caves. You might have to spend extra time down there and seeing as you’d never been, you didn’t know how big the system was. Yeonjun and Soobin said they would handle all the gear you needed and meet you at the old mine entrance.
As the sun was on the rise, you reached the meeting spot and found Yeonjun and Soobin waiting for you, each supporting a decent sized pack on their backs. “You weren’t kidding,” you said softly with a chuckle as you drew level. “You really went wild on the gear.”
Yeonjun shrugged. “I told you, I’m interested in caves. I’ve investigated a fair share of them.” You turned to Soobin for confirmation and when he nodded, you felt much more at ease. “What about you?” you asked, looking up at Soobin. “I’ve been in a few,” he answered. “Enough to know what to do.”
“We should get going,” Yeonjun said suddenly. “We don’t know how long this is going to take and the sun is rising.” You followed his gaze up to the sky that was slowly lightening up to a periwinkle as the sun slowly rose above the horizon. It hadn’t yet broken over the mountains but it was getting there.
“Lead the way,” you said, glancing between the two, wondering who was going to take the lead and not surprised in the slightest when Yeonjun turned and headed for the entrance. You followed, with Soobin in tow and bringing up the rear.
The entrance was mostly unobstructed with only a few planks of wood in place. It was very dark beyond where the low level of light could reach. Yeonjun reached into a hip pouch, producing two flashlights. He handed one to you and clicked his on, shining the light into the void.
“It looks pretty clear,” he said as he moved around the light. For such a small flashlight, it was certainly powerful. “Come on,” he added, starting into the mouth of the mine. It wasn’t as large or as grand as you were picturing and upon entering, it immediately started to dip down a mild incline.
The walk down was long, rocky, and for the most part, relatively easy to hike. Yeonjun stayed in the front and Soobin in the back, making sure to keep you in the middle. It made you feel much safer. The ground started to even out after a while and soon you reached a junction. It dawned on you that none of you had been down here and you were suddenly worried about getting lost.
“Wait,” you said as Yeonjun started for the left fork. “What if we lose our way?” you asked. Yeonjun glanced at Soobin. “She has a point,” Soobin agreed. “We should at the very least mark our path so we can follow it out.” Yeonjun nodded and looked around. “Oh,” he said. “This should work.”
You watched as he knelt down, removing his pack and unzipping one of the pockets, starting to sift through it. He pulled out what looked suspiciously like a chisel which was confirmed by the next words out of Soobin’s mouth. “Why the fuck do you have a chisel?”
Yeonjun’s smile fell and he frowned at the taller man. “Shut the fuck up,” he snapped back, zipping his pack back up and getting to his feet, pulling the bag back on. “If you’ve got something better, I’m all ears,” he added as he walked towards the entrance of the leftmost cave.
You glanced back at Soobin who shook his head with an exasperated sigh and then nodded, gesturing for you to follow. You started forward, shining your light around. As the beam passed over the entrance to the right, you could have sworn you saw something glowing, almost like a pair of eyes.
You stopped abruptly, staring wide-eyed at the tunnel, shining your light back over the entrance. Soobin ran into you from behind and made you drop your light. “Oh shit,” he grumbled, quickly bending down to snatch it from the dirt and hand it to you. “Why’d you stop?” he asked softly.
You glanced up at him. “I thought I saw something,” you said, returning your gaze to the right cave. Soobin followed your gaze. “It was probably your eyes,” he said softly. “The dark likes to play tricks on you.” You felt his hand take yours and he started forward. “Come on,” he urged gently.
“We’ll lose Yeonjun if we don’t keep up.”
The rest of the way into the mines, Soobin held you hand and while it did make you feel better, you couldn’t shake the feeling you were being watched. As you descended further and further, you started to see more and more signs that something had indeed made the caves its home.
Carcasses of various small prey animals were scattered about, mostly just bone left behind. You reached a large chamber where the ceiling was full of stalactites and bats roosted in between them, clinging to the rock as they rested.
“Oh wow,” you said softly as you heard the sound of water and shined your light into the far end of the chamber to find a small pool and a waterfall. It wasn’t a particularly large or powerful cascade but it meant that it led from somewhere.
You rested briefly with the guys, munching on fruit snacks and protein bars. Once you were ready to go, you started for the only exit you could see. You stopped by the water, kneeling down to dip your fingers into it. “It’s freezing!” you said, your voice laced with excitement. Soobin smiled as he watched you while Yeonjun inspected the exit.
“Come on,” he said softly. “It’s this way.”
You glanced up, finding his choice of words a little odd. “It’s?” you asked as Soobin held a hand out for you to take. You accepted, placing your hand in his and letting him pull you to your feet. “Poor choice of words,” he said simply. “He probably meant the other mine,” he added. You nodded and allowed Soobin to walk forward. Before you could take another step, you heard the sound of scraping and froze.
You quickly turned your head away from where Soobin was heading for the large opening and shined your flashlight around the chamber. You couldn’t see anything but you heard another scraping sound and instead of ignoring it and following your friends, you turned and started back into the chamber.
Besides the stalactites and stalagmites forming, there were also a good amount of stalagnates and other rock formations in the cave. You walked slowly, carefully shining your light around as you investigated the source of the noise. You reached an empty wall and sighed. ‘Nothing.’
You turned back around and let out a gasp. Before you stood a man you’d never seen before.
You looked over him, expecting him to be injured in some way but he looked unharmed. He was tall, maybe about as tall as Yeonjun. He had short black hair similar to Yeonjun’s but styled slightly different. His eyes were a goldish orange and seemed to almost glow in the darkness of the cave.
“Uh,” you said softly, looking around him nervously to see if Soobin was still standing at the exit of the chamber where Yeonjun disappeared earlier. “Hi,” you greeted the man. He simply tilted his head, staring at you with a look of curiosity. “Who are you?” the man asked in a surprisingly clear voice.
His question left you baffled. Instead of asking for help or anything one might expect of encountering a stranger in a cave system, he asked you a question as if you’d just intruded into his home.
Yeonjun’s words came to mind. ‘Others say it’s a man.’
You stared at the man before you with the glowing golden-orange eyes. “Who are you?” you countered, catching him by surprise but it only lasted for a moment before a smile settled onto his face. Not an unsettling one but certainly not one you were expecting to see.
“I’m Beomgyu,” he said simply. “I’m a kumiho.”
Your eyes widened in shock as you stared at him. ‘He was right,’ you thought. “Holy shit,” you breathed. Yeonjun was right. A creature did live in these caves and it was right in front of you while your friends were nowhere to be seen. ‘Fuck.’
“Are you all alone down here?” he asked, drawing you from your thoughts. ‘Wh-what?’ You stared in shock at him for a moment before answering. “N-no,” you lied. His smile slowly dropped. “Now,” he said softly before tsking. “Don’t lie to me.” You felt a chill up your spine as he spoke, taking a step closer.
“Okay!” you said, backing up. “I’m not alone! My friends are here. They went that way —” you started but he cut you off. “Went off and left you all alone?” he asked. “Left you all defenseless,” he added, taking another step forward.” Poor little bird.”
Each step was punctuated with a step until he had you backed against the wall of the cave and caged in between his arms. “Some friends they are,” he whispered, leaning in to whisper in your ear. “Left you all alone down here with a monster.”
Goosebumps erupted over your skin as you felt one of his hands slide down your arm to your waist.
“And what an absolutely delicious morsel you are.”
You let out a whimper, holding back tears but Beomgyu simply chuckled and backed away slightly. “I’m only teasing,” he said softly, reaching up to caressing your cheek before taking your chin in between his thumb and index finger. “I’m not going to eat you,” he started. “Yet,” he added with a wink.
“I’m inclined to let you go in fact,” he continued. Your heart jumped at the mention of being set free. “But you first must do something for me.” The small glimmer of hope faded away quickly as you stared at Beomgyu. “You must play a game of riddles with me.”
Your eyes looked around the cave before settling back on him. “Riddles?” you asked incredulously. He nodded. “Yes. Riddles. If you get three out of five riddles correct, I will let you go but if you get three out of five wrong…” he trailed off, licking his lips as his golden-orange eyes scanned over your frame.
Your cheeks burned and you awkwardly shuffled your feet, shifting your weight from one foot to the other. “Okay,” you replied meekly. “It’s not like I have much of a choice anyway.” Beomgyu smiled, showing his pointed canines. Much sharper than was considered normal for a human.
“No,” he answered. “You don’t.”
You straightened up, crossing your arms over your chest. “Well,” you said softly. “Get on with it.”
Beomgyu’s eyes narrowed but instead of remarking, he cleared his throat to deliver the first of five riddles.
“I am the beginning of the end,  and the end of time and space.  I am essential to creation,  and I surround every place.  What am I?”
You stared at him as his words sank in. ‘The beginning of the end, and the end of time and space.’
“Beginning of the end,” you whispered to yourself as you mulled over the words again. “Take your time,” Beomgyu said softly. “We have all day and night.” You glanced at him as you continued to think.
“Essential to creation and surround every place?”
“Beginning of the end, and the end of time and space…”
“Oh!” you said suddenly, snapping your fingers. “The letter e!”
Beomgyu’s smile returned and he nodded. “Good,” he answered. “Here’s your second riddle,” he said, moving to lean against one of the stalagnates, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Ripped from my mother’s womb, Beaten and burned, I become a bloodthirsty killer. What am I?”
You stared at him in mild horror. “Ripped from my mother’s womb?” you asked incredulously. He nodded, smiling at you as you started to look around, turning the words around in your head. ‘Bloodthirsty killer?’ you wondered. The gears were turning in your head but you were coming up blank.
After a few minutes of silence, you finally relented, hoping the other three riddles wouldn’t be this hard.
“I…” you cleared your throat. “I don’t know.”
Beomgyu’s smile turned into a smirk. “I was hoping you might get it, considering our location,” he said with a tone of mocking sympathy. “The answer is iron ore.” You stared at him, suddenly feeling very foolish. You were standing in a mine and you missed the riddle about mines.
“That’s one to one,” Beomgyu said. “You have three chances left.” You nodded and motioned for him to give you the next one.
“Lighter than what I am made of, More of me is hidden Than is seen. What am I?”
The answer came to mind immediately.
“An iceberg,” you fired back. Beomgyu’s brow furrowed. “Have you heard that one before?” he asked. You shook your head. “No,” you answered truthfully. “I’m just obsessed with the sinking of the Titanic,” you continued. “I know Icebergs are much larger under the water than above it.”
Beomgyu studied your face for a moment before relenting. “Fine,” he said. “Two to one. Next riddle.”
He gave you another which you got wrong making it two to two. You’d lost track of time and it felt like hours since you last saw Soobin or Yeonjun. Beomgyu was now standing right in front of you, leaning against the wall as he caged your body in, your back pressed against the rock. “What happens if I lose?” you asked softly. His eyes traveled down your body back back up.
“I get to keep you.”
‘Keep me?’ you wondered silently. “What does that mean?” His smile grew slightly. “It means you stay down here for me for as long as I want.” You swallowed the lump in your throat as he got even closer, lips inches from your ear. “Ready?” he whispered. You nodded wordlessly, silently praying to whatever that he would give you one you could figure out.
“I build up castles. I tear down mountains. I make some men blind, I help others to see. What am I?”
Your heart sank as you slowly realized this one was going to be hard to solve and your assumption was proven right as you spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure it out.
“Do you give up?” Beomgyu asked, tilting his head. He’d been more than generous, allowing you two guesses but you were on your third and you were coming up blank. You didn’t want to stay down here in the caves with him for however long he decided. It could be days, it could be years, it could be forever. Surely, your friends would come looking for you, right?
They wouldn’t leave you here, right?
You hung your head in defeat, the sound of Beomgyu’s chuckles sending yet another chill up your spine. “Poor little bird,” he cooed, placing a finger under your chin and lifting your head. “Bound to spend eternity here in the caves with me.”
Your eyes widened. “E-eternity?!” you gasped. Beomgyu chuckled, grabbing your wrist. “As long as I want, remember princess?” he asked. “You’re stuck with me now.”
He pulled you along the cave, stopping at the pool of water. He turned to you, grabbing the straps of your bag and pushing them off you. “Leave that here,” he said softly. “You won’t need it.”
You tried to protest but Beomgyu grabbed your hand, surprisingly delicately and stepped back into the pool onto a rock jutting out from the side of the pool. “Come,” he said in a commanding tone. You hesitated for only a moment before your body reacted, following him into the pool. The water was freezing. Bumps erupted across your skin, your nipples hardening in your bra as the chill of the water set into your body.
Beomgyu pulled you to the edge of the rock and stood behind you. “Deep breath in,” he said softly into your ear, hands moving to your arms, just under your shoulders. You inhaled slowly as you stared at the water, trying not to panic. “I hope you can swim.”
Beomgyu pushed you off the rock into the water. Your body splashed loudly and immediately, you kicked towards the surface, sputtering as you surfaced. You shook the water from your face and looked around the dark cave, illuminated by the flashlight you left by your pack.
You saw no sign of Beomgyu. You started to swim back to the side and almost reached the edge when you felt something grab your ankle and drag you down. You kicked and fought against the entity but soon lost the battle, losing consciousness in the process.
When you came to, you were laying on something soft. Your eyes slowly blinked open, light invading your senses as you tried to wake up. Your limbs were heavy and it was hard to move. Your eyes took a long time to focus but finally, they did.
You looked around, taking in your surroundings.
You seemed to be laying on a bed of what looked like furs. There were various colors but they were all extremely soft. You thought back to the scattered animal bones that you saw in the cave and now you knew who the culprit was. As you tried to sit up, you realized your clothes had been removed and you were covered with a brown blanket. You brought your arm up, holding the blanket against your chest.
“What the?” you whispered as you looked around further. You raised your eyes and noticed a massive hole in the ceiling of the cave you were in. Light was filtering in, bathing you in a bright glow. Your ears picked up a scraping sound and you looked down, eyes trying to see beyond the sunlit area but it was no use. You couldn’t pick up anything.
“I see you’re awake,” a voice said softly from beside you. Turning your head, you tried to see past the circle of light, squinting but you were still unable to make anything out. Another scraping sound rang out from the other side and your head snapped in that direction.
“Did you take my clothes off?” you called, raising a hand to shield your eyes.
“Your clothes were wet,” he said simply. “I am sorry about that by the way.” You squinted in the direction of the voice. “The only way to get here is through the waterfall,” he continued. “And that water is quite cold.” You listened carefully, hearing soft footsteps making their way towards you.
“I did, however, bring your pack,” he stated. “There were some clean undergarments in there and I put those on you.”
Finally, a figure emerged from beyond the edge of the light. It was Beomgyu. He stopped at the edge of the pile of furs. “Is this your home?” you asked, looking up at him as you made sure your body was covered. He nodded, hands tucked into the pockets of his clothes. Before you hadn’t noticed but he was wearing a simple tunic and a pair of dark pants. He wore no shoes.
“Did you… do anything to me?” you asked softly. Beomgyu chuckled, shaking his head. “Not yet,” he said, removing his hands from his pockets. He slowly knelt onto the pile of furs, crawling towards you at a tortoise’s pace. You leaned back, holding the blanket up to your chest with both hands now. He slowly leaned over you, forcing you to lay back against the bed.
“Would you like me to?” he asked quietly, one of his hands taking your chin, the pad of his thumb pressing against your bottom lip and pulling down slightly. “I could do anything you want me to,” he said softly. “Be anyone you want me to be.” You watched in shock as his form shifted effortlessly into the familiar face of one of your friends.
“Come on,” he whined in Yeonjun’s voice, your friend’s dark brown eyes looking back at you. “It’ll be fun!” You shook your head, trying to push him off you. “Or perhaps someone else?” he asked and again his form shifted into that of your other friend. “Yeah,” he said in the low, collected tone of Soobin.
“You seemed awfully close to this one.”
“Stop it!” you shrieked, shutting your eyes and turning your head away. “Hey,” he said, his voice back to normal. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to make you more comfortable.” You opened your eyes slowly, Beomgyu’s face coming back into view. “I could be anything you want. Fulfill any fantasy or desire of yours,” he added, cupping your cheek.
“All you have to do is say yes.”
You stared up at him, skin heating up under his gaze as the weight of his body settled on top of you. He lowered himself, pressing against your core through the blanket. “I could also just take you right now,” he added, rolling his hips slightly. “It’s more fun if you fight.”
You blinked up at him, processing his words. “What if I… pretend?” you asked in a soft voice. He tilted his head. “Pretend? Pretend what?” he asked, sounding every bit curious. “What if I pretend to fight you? If it’s more fun. Wouldn’t it be better if I gave you my consent?”
Beomgyu’s brow furrowed in confusion. “I don’t think I understand,” he started. “Are you saying you’ll give yourself to me but that you’ll fight me?” You nodded. “In a way. I’m consenting to sex but if you want me to struggle, I can pretend.” A smile slowly grew across his face. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard of such a thing before.”
“I’ll give myself to you and pretend to struggle and fight against it but only if you promise me something,” you said as his hand started to wander. “And what’s that?” he asked, lips brushing against yours as he leaned in. “That you’ll stop if I really ask you to.” He frowned slightly but quickly his expression went neutral. “Fine,” he started. “But how will I know when to stop?” he asked, tilting his head.
You wracked your brain for a safeword. “Pumpkin pie,” you said suddenly. Beomgyu gave you a perplexed look. “If I say pumpkin pie, you need to stop, okay?” His golden eyes studied your face for a moment before he nodded. “Fine. I accept your terms,” he said,
“Now,” he said softly as he laid his weight on top of you, his hips slotting between your thighs.
“Tell me about your fantasies. What do you want? Do you want me to stay like this? Or shall I change into one of your friends?” he asked with a smirk. You shook your head wordlessly. “Just like this is fine,” you said. “Good,” he said softly. “But I can’t promise I won’t shift a little while we’re in the midst of it.”
You were about to protest when he leaned in, capturing your lips in a heated but cautious kiss. He was testing the waters, lips moving against yours as one of his hands continued to roam, exploring your body over the blanket. “You’re supposed to fight me,” he murmured against your lips, hand slipping under the blanket and darting between your legs.
“S-sorry,” you stammered as his fingers pressed the fabric of your underwear into your sex, chuckling as he felt how wet you were growing. “Your panties are soaked already,” he murmured, amused at how easy you seemed to get aroused. You let out a whimper as he slipped his hand dipped past the waistband of your panties, feeling between your folds.
“So wet and ready for me,” he purred. “You’re supposed to be struggling against me, love.”
You mentally cursed again. It just felt so good having his fingers working against your clit. “S-sorry,” you murmured again. You tried to push him off you but he was clearly much stronger. He moved his arm, pressing his forearm against your collar across your chest and holding you down.
“Keep struggling,” he said, a glint in his eye. You tried to throw your weight into it. “S-stop,” you said softly. “Oh I think you can do better than that,” Beomgyu said, fingers halting. “Go on now, do it properly.” You stared up at him as his fingers started to move again, inching down towards your entrance. “S-stop! Get off me!” you nearly shouted.
Your voice echoed around the cave, the smile on Beomgyu’s face spreading. “That’s it,” he murmured. “Keep fighting me.” You grabbed at his shirt trying to push or pull him off you to no avail. The more you struggled and found more confidence the more excited he seemed to get.
Finally you threw everything into it, managing to flip him onto his side. You quickly tried to get up but he was quicker, grabbing you by the ankle and pulling you back, dragging you back onto the bed. You fought against his hold, trying to slap his hands away as he grabbed you and turned you over onto your stomach.
You hadn’t used your safeword and if truth be told, you were enjoying this. You kicked and struggled, trying to throw him off you until he managed to climb over you, pinning you legs down between his thighs, grabbing and pinning your wrists down next to your head.
“Oh, I’m going to have fun with you,” he said, his voice full of excitement. You tried to struggle against him, screaming at him to get off you. He leaned over, lips near your ear. “If you want me to stop, you know what to say. Are you going to use that word?” You shook your head. “No,” you whispered.
Beomgyu chuckled darkly, pushing himself back up. “Good,” he said as he pulled your arms, moving them behind your back and scooting back so he could grab your panties. “I’m sure you have more of these,” he said softly, running his fingertips over the lace.
You heard the fabric pull against you, biting into your skin as he ripped them off you, discarding them somewhere. Your bra followed, being ripped in the same fashion and discarded quickly. Beomgyu held your wrists with one hand as the other moved down, sliding over your backside.
His fingers dug into the flesh of your ass. “So beautiful,” he murmured, his voice taking on a different tone. You turned your head, seeing out of the corner of your eye, he’d changed his appearance to that of Yeonjun. “I said stop doing that!” you said quickly. Yeonjun’s face looked up at you, a devilish grin spreading over his face.
“Are you using your safeword?” he asked, tilting his head. Your heart skipped a beat. “N-no,” you whispered, letting out a moan as his hand dipped between your thighs. “That’s what I thought. The appearances weren’t part of the deal, doll,” he continued. “If you want me to stop, you’re going to have to use your safeword, otherwise…” he trailed off, fingers finding your slit and sinking into your cunt.
He let out a sigh as your warm walls welcomed his fingers. “I can’t wait to feel you wrapped around my cock,” he murmured, still in Yeonjun’s voice. It was uncanny but your walls clenched around his fingers and he chuckled. “Do you often think about fucking your friends?” he asked.
You were rendered speechless as he curled his fingers slowly, starting to pump in and out of you. “I’ll bet you do. Two tall handsome guys like that? I bet they would jump at the chance to have even a taste of you. Don’t you think so?”
You moaned in response, burying your face into the furs. “I’d really like a taste of this,” he said softly as he pulled his fingers out of you. “Will you be good long enough for me to get a taste of this pretty little cunt you have?” You moaned, nodding again as he squeezed your ass, kneading gently.
“On your back then,” he murmured. You did as he asked, rolling onto your back. He used the lapse in attention on you to remove his own clothes but he was down on his stomach, grabbing your hips and pulling you closer to his face. His tongue peeked out to wet his lips before he glanced up at you.
“No fighting me,” he warned. You nodded silently. “I promise,” you breathed out. He smiled, giving you a wink. “Good girl,” he said before dipping his head, tongue pressing between your lips to find your clit. The moment he got a taste, he let out the most erotic groan you’d ever heard and it was like a feeding frenzy had started.
His tongue moved expertly, dragging over your clit in slow strokes, alternating between soft and hard, flicking the nub with the tip of his tongue and gently sucking. Your hands flew to his dark hair, fingers locking in the tresses. It was surreal to have him between your thighs, looking identical to one of your best friends but you’d be a liar if you said you hadn’t thought about this at least once.
Yeonjun was an extremely good-looking guy and you trusted him. He may be annoying at times but he was smart, funny, kind, and more importantly, loyal. Anyone would want someone like that. His confidence was extremely attractive and he exuded it.
“F-fuck,” you gasped, thighs trembling as your orgasm neared. The kumiho, back in the form of Beomgyu, noticed and pulled away. “No!” you cried out as you were robbed of your climax. “So eager to cum already?” Beomgyu chuckled, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “It’s the only way I can…” you trailed off, realizing you’d said too much.
You felt Beomgyu kiss his way up your stomach and chest, skipping over your breast until he reached your neck. You tilted your head away, allowing him more access. His tongue ran over your pulsepoint and you let out a cry as he sank his teeth into your skin.
“It’s the only way you can what?” he whispered into your ear. “Nothing,” you answered quickly. Beomgyu clicked his tongue in disapproval. “Come on now, darling,” he cooed. “You can tell me.” Yeonjun’s voice was back and when you opened your eyes, you were looking into his brown ones. “It’s me, you can tell me anything, right?”
You let out a squeak as his fingers slipped back inside you, pumping steadily. It was enough to keep you on the edge but not enough to give you release. “It’s the only way I can cum!” you blurted out in the deceivingly comforting brown eyes of the kumiho masquerading as your best friend.
“What do you mean?” he asked, tilting his head, looking every bit a curious puppy. “I’ve never…” you trailed off and he seemed to pick up what you were hinting at. “No,” he said, shaking his head in disbelief. “Never?” he asked. You nodded, feeling quite embarrassed about what you were admitting to. The fox spirit stared at you in shock.
“What do you mean you’ve never come from sex?!” he asked incredulously. You tried to cover your face but he grabbed your wrists. “What loser have you been fucking?” You whined in shame, face heating up as you tried to pull your wrists free. “Oh no,” he said. “We’re not having that.”
He turned you onto your stomach. “I’m gonna make you cum,” he said as he grabbed your wrists, pinning your arms behind your back. It was then you realized you were supposed to be struggling against him. You tried to pull but he merely pressed you down into the furs.
“Change of plans, sweetheart,” he said as he nudged your thighs apart. “You don’t need to fight me. I’m going to make you cum on this cock until you can’t take it anymore,” he continued, holding your wrists with one hand as he guided the head of his cock to your hole. You felt him rub the tip through your folds, gathering your wetness before he slowly pushed into you.
You let out a groan as he sank his cock in, your warm walls squeezing and inviting him deeper, sucking him in further. You moaned loudly as his hips snapped forward against your ass, sheathing himself in one motion. It was sudden and harsh and sent a stinging sensation through your cunt as it stretched around him. “Oh, you’re so warm,” he groaned.
His voice had changed again.
You glanced over your shoulder finding the familiar face of Soobin, chocolate brown eyes staring back at you and his blond hair a mess. You clenched hard around the cock currently lodged in your pussy, making the kumiho groan as well. “You seem more receptive to this one,” he murmured, pulling back slightly. He thrust into you, making you gasp.
“Much more receptive,” he continued. He released your wrists and instead wrapped an arm around your chest as he pressed his weight on top of you. He started a steady but fast pace with his thrusts, the wet sound of his cock pumping in and out of you filling the cave and echoing over the sounds of your moans and panting.
“Squeezing so tight,” he murmured in your ear, sending chills down your spine. His hold tightened as he pulled your back against his chest. “M’gonna fuck you so full,” he growled in your ear. You whimpered, corners of your eyes burning. The pleasure was so overwhelming, moving you to the brink of tears. A small sob escaped you and the fox spirit halted his movement.
“Are you crying?” he asked, sounding amused. “Does it feel that good?” he asked. You nodded, choking back sobs, tears starting to fall onto your cheeks. “Fuck,” he groaned, cock twitching inside you. He quickly pulled out, turning you onto your back before sliding back into you. Your tears didn’t stop when he started fucking you harder in this position, grunting with the effort it took to deliver each powerful thrust.
You let out a cry of pleasure, more tears spilling from your eyes.
“Fuck,” he growled. Soobin’s voice sounded so different. So animalistic. You’d never heard him sound like that before and it made you want to know what he really sounded like in the midst of passion. Not that you would probably ever learn. You’d have to settle for what the kumiho would give you. It was a likeness to be sure and the closest you’d ever get.
“God, I love it when you cry,” he groaned, pounding into you. Each thrust had a strained sob mixed with a moan falling from your lips, more tears flowing freely. “Fuck, I could cum just from watching you cry.” You let out a moan, cunt spasming around his cock as your orgasm hurtled towards you.
You felt him snake a hand between your bodies, thumb finding your clit and rubbing it in time with his thrusts, driving you over the edge. Your walls clamped down on his cock as you came, a loud moan escaping you as your back arched off the bed.
“Fuck, yes, that’s it sweetheart, come for me,” Soobin’s voice said in a deep, strained tone. “Gonna make me cum.” His hips stuttered as he let out a low moan into your ear, he thrust into you a few more times before he finally came, his thick load spilling into you and painting your walls. “Fuuuuuck,” he groaned, burying his cock into your used cunt and stilling there as he tried to catch his breath.
You passed out quickly and when you woke, you were wrapped up in the same brown blanket the furs under you were warm and soft. The sun had set, replaced with the moon instead which casted a silvery glow over the bed. You blinked the sleep away and started to sit up. Beside you was Beomgyu, fast asleep.
You heard voices whispering and looked out to see the cave wasn’t much bigger than the area where you lay. There was a small slit in the rocks that extended up about ten feet and beyond it you could hear rushing water. To the left, you noticed a fire and two figures. Your eyes widened as you realized they were the forms of your two friends.
“Y-Yeonjun?!” you called out. “Soobin?!!” They heard you and lifted their heads, turning to look in your direction. You let out a gasp as you met their gazes and saw staring back at you two two sets of golden-orange eyes.
‘No,’ you thought.
“Didn’t you find it odd that I knew their forms so well?” Beomgyu whispered from beside you, nuzzling into your neck. “That I knew every single detail and their voices so well?” Suddenly everything made so much sense. The subtle clues were there all along as far back as you could remember since meeting Yeonjun and Soobin.
“We weren’t even supposed to stay this long,” he said softly. “But they kept saying how enticing you were. So sweet, so kind, so pretty,” he continued, pressing kisses against your skin. “I just had to see for myself,” he added. You glanced at him, taking your eyes off Yeonjun and Soobin.
“And now that you’re here,” he added, reaching up to cup the side of your neck. “You’re not leaving.”
Your heart skipped a beat as his golden-orange eyes burned into yours. “And neither are we,” a voice said softly in your ear. You turned your head, locking eyes with Soobin. “He told us how much you seemed to enjoy it,” Yeonjun said from behind you, trailing his fingers up your spine.
“Especially when he shifted to look like Soobin.”
You felt a strong hand grab your chin gently but firmly and turn your head. You met Soobin’s gaze. “If you wanted me so bad, you should have just said so, sweetheart,” he said in a deep voice. “I would have gladly let you in my bed.”
He leaned in, lips brushing against yours. “You got a preview,” he murmured, breath hot against your face.
“Now how about the real thing?”

A lot of the time when people bring up Bart Allen as being super autistic coded, they're bringing it up in conjuction with the rest of YJ (which, yes, I love autistic friendship) but sometimes I just wanna talk about Bart Allen.
I wanna talk about the kid who doesn't understand he's getting bullied and managed to be friends with everyone because of it. I wanna talk about the kid who is so bad at holding a conversation everyone thinks he's some sort of brooding asshole. I wanna talk about the kid who KNOWS that the older, more popular kids talk to him and dare him to do stupid stuff because "of course Bart will do it" and does it anyway because he likes making people laugh. I wanna talk about the kid who knows he's doing something wrong socially but he doesn't know what and wants nothing more than to fix it. I wanna talk about the kid who knows he's different but still thinks the rest of the world is the problem. I wanna talk about the kid who's so smart and so brave but everyone only sees him as some mess-up idiot. I wanna talk about the emotional kid who got bullied for being robotic and unemotional because allistic people can't grasp what his world looks like. I wanna talk about the kid who wouldn't know sarcasm from truth. I wanna talk about the kid who's low-empathy but does everything he can to be compassionate. I wanna talk about the kid who's surrounded by people, but still feels so alone because no one else understands his world.
Sometimes I just wanna talk about Bart Allen.

the buzz from tattoo guns spread across the room as if there were a swarm of bees  — the shop was busy today. yeonjun’s mouth tasted of tobacco and menthol, his favorite combination, his index and middle fingers stained with the scent from years of use. he rain a hand through his hair, feeling the ends tickle his neck, before burying both hands in the soft, fleece lined pocket of his hoodie.
he made his way over to his station, checking his tools, cleaning up the area so he could prepare for his next client. the steps whirled in his head as they always did when he fixed his area: wash his hands, put gloves on, sterilize his tools, cover his equipment, disinfect all surfaces. he loved this part, the organization, having everything accessible to make his art easier to complete.
god, yeonjun loved his fucking job. just the plain idea of him drawing and coloring on people’s bodies, having his art stay there forever, it was magical to him. yeonjun knew in high school that he wanted to be a tattoo artist — he bought a shitty tattoo gun online, spent his weekends drunk in beomgyu’s basement leaving wonky doodles on his friends in places no one would ever see. at parties, people would beg him to whip out the tattoo gun, implore him to etch small designs on their skin on the big leather couch in soobin’s parents’ house.
those nights turned into lonely ones spent in his bedroom, cross hatching lines into fake skin on his desk, shading with pointillism in designs he’d seen on pinterest, smoke from his lit joint dancing into the air of his bedroom. he had a year long apprenticeship at a tattoo shop in the middle of brooklyn when he turned nineteen, he tried college for a year when he graduated high school but quickly realized it just wasn’t for him. now, four years later, he was thriving: he was booked, he was busy, he was a real fucking tattoo artist and made real fucking money.
he grabbed his phone to check the time before he started disinfecting, only five more minutes before his client was supposed to show. he scrolled his lock screen, eyes thinning when he read the notifications.
v: did u turn the lights off before u left v: if my electric bill is high again just know you’re paying that shit
his lips pulled into a line, thumbs moving a mile a minute.
yj: yes i turned them off yj: u dont have to remind me every single day
he locked his phone and set it face down on the counter that ran along the back of the shop, packed cabinets filled with saran wrap, disinfectant and ink caps underneath. he shook his head, irritation flooding his thoughts, he’d left the lights on one time and now he’ll never hear the end of it.
well over a year now, together but still not quite official — on and off but pretty much living together, yeonjun has spent more time in your bushwick apartment than he has at his own downtown. granted the shop was closer to your apartment than his own, but he’s always liked your apartment more, anyway. tall ceilings, funky art, maps and concert posters on the walls, a unique touch to your living space with your red lacquered kitchen cabinets and dark wood accents where his own looked cheesy and cheap in comparison.
two bedrooms, one full bathroom and a separate room just for the television and couch, yeonjun thought you were fucking loaded when he first stepped foot in your apartment. it had to be your parents paying your bills, or maybe you were a nepo baby – this is new york, after all – but as your relationship grew and he learned more about your occupation, how much you truly made between high commission and tips, he’d never thought a hairstylist could make so much fucking money.
both of you in your careers, working full time with the public, both creative people that spend their days creating art that lives on people’s bodies. your canvases were humans, walking, breathing pieces of scrap paper that you drew on, painted on, poked, cut, shaded. the two of you related to one another too much in too many areas, on too many levels, so many conversations about people and their critiques, their wishes, their families, their stories. if you and yeonjun could do anything, it was talk.
you’d met on your twenty first birthday, a little over a month after yeonjun’s twenty second. you and your girl friends and coworkers he later learned circled up on the dance floor with you in the middle, rolling your hips to the beat of the song, head tipped back in a drunken haze and a cocktail in your hand. he eyed you from the bar, thinking nothing of it other than the fact that you were a drunk twenty one year old about to be obnoxiously loud in his ear all night. he sipped his glass of whiskey, neat, tattooed fingers wrapping around the glass that dripped sweat onto his palm.
the bar was hot, too hot for the outfit he had on — oversized black hoodie with the hood over his head, black pants, boots on his feet. he was dressed for early november in new york, layered to fight off the chill of brooklyn, not for whatever the hell was going on in his favorite bar.
you approached him first, slurring over your words, tucking your hair behind your ear which was already tucked. you batted your eyelashes, your eyes glossed over in intoxication — yeonjun was not biting, he wasn’t interested in the slightest. he gave you a tight lipped smile, clinked his glass with your own and turned his attention away from you, a small gesture to say what you’re looking for is not me, keep it moving.
but when you strolled into his shop two weeks later as a walk-in and yeonjun had a cancellation, only then was he taking the bait, the bait you had no idea you were dangling from a hook right in front of his own two eyes. you didn’t seem to recall your interaction on your birthday, you didn’t seem to recognize yeonjun at all and that only made him curious.
you asked for a ruler along your index finger, two lines to show the public what two inches really is. he laughed at that, a small puff of amusement leaving his perfect plump lips just as the words left yours.
“is that stupid?” you asked, head cocked to the side, eyebrows furrowed in question but your eyes wide and he swore he could see them shine as you looked up to him. he was taken then, from just that one look in your eyes – he knew he was in trouble.
“not at all,” he said as she shook his head, smile still dancing on his cheeks, “it’s funny, i’ll take you back.”
you sat down on the bench, yeonjun went searching for a ruler in the cabinets lining the back of the shop. you spoke mindlessly about your job as he searched, immediately telling him a story about a client you had a few days ago who wanted a balayage and not highlights but they couldn’t decipher between the two — they insisted on highlights when what they were describing was clearly a balayage. you spoke with such enthusiasm, your mouth running a mile a minute, words spilling from your lips just as fast as you thought them.
yeonjun had no idea what you were talking about but he knew you were adorable — much different from when you first tried to pick him up at that bar. your eyes are bright, words controlled, movements sharp and alert. what did stay the same was the confidence, your outward extrovertedness made it so yeonjun didn’t have to say much, just nodding and listening to your little story as he tried his best to keep his head on straight.
“finger tattoos don’t last as long as they do on other parts of the body,” he interrupted as your story ended, finally pulling a small red plastic ruler from the cabinet to his left.
you shrug, “i figured as much, my hands are in water a lot, too.”
yeonjun sucked a breath in through his teeth, “that makes it even worse.”
“so what, i have to come back and get it touched up, then? big deal,” your hands came up at your sides, shrugging altogether, “as long as you still work here when i have to get it touched up then it’s fine.”
“already commending my work when i haven’t even done the tattoo yet?” yeonjun wears a lazy, teasing smile as he sits down on his stool, grabbing the arm rest for you to lay your forearm on.
“who said i was talking about the tattoo?” yeonjun’s eyes shot up at you who was already wearing a smirk, his lips parted ever so slightly. he immediately cracked a smile, shaking his head as he looked back down to your hand.
“that’s crazy,” he mumbled under his breath as he put the ruler up to your finger, then grabbed his pen from his tray to mark the inches. maybe you did know — maybe you were purposely dangling the bait, or maybe the two of you just had the same amount of interest in each other. maybe there was no bait to begin with.
“i don’t think it's crazy,” he didn’t expect you to hear him or respond, but it seems you don’t have a filter of any kind as you keep going, “you’re hot, i’m hot, we have a lot in common already.”
“we have a lot in common?” he raised an eyebrow, looking up to you again after marking the second inch, he grabbed a different pen to mark the eighths.
“we’re both creative, both work with the public, we have picky people as clients, have to listen to unrealistic expectations, both work in careers that aren’t super common — not common, maybe abnormal? or maybe i’m trying to say we can be abnormal because our careers aren’t super judgemental? appearance wise, i guess, whatever, anyways, we also both know how to talk to people, i can keep going…”
“so all we have in common are our careers?” he’s still playing along as he finishes marking out the lines, “how does that look?”
“looks good to me,” you say after a quick glance, barely an inspection of your finger, “pretty much, but our careers teach us a lot about ourselves. oh! and we can do art trades, i’ll do your hair and you give me tattoos.”
“are you bribing me or pimping yourself out?” the corner of his mouth lifts into a smirk, and the smile that paints itself on your face feigns innocence, he’d save that look for his sketchbook later tonight.
“maybe a little bit of both. are either of them working?” you cocked your head to the side again, swinging the feet that hung from the bench ever so slightly, careful not to kick anything in front of you. yeonjun had to reel himself in.
yeonjun had to be honest — with himself, and you — it started working the moment you stepped into the shop. you had no visible tattoos, a casual outfit on, sweatpants and a tee shirt that left just a sliver of skin between the hems of your clothes. your hair was done but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, you didn’t seem like anything special off first glance– in fact, you seemed the exact opposite of his type, the girls he usually went for. yeonjun was just as confused with himself as he was enamored by you.
“i don’t know, i think you might have to try a lil’ harder,” he faked a deciding face, eyebrows scrunched as he moved back in his stool, ushering for you to stand up. he looked at your finger from all angles, analyzing it as you stood to the side, lifting your hands, flexing your fingers as you stood. he was happy with his sketch, his outline, he was more then prepared to freehand a couple lines.
“you should let me try harder over some drinks if the tattoo comes out good,” your eyes were trained on your hand as you followed his instructions, moving your hands into every position he asked for.
yeonjun laughed at that, “if the tattoo comes out good? what, am i the one picking you up now?”
you shrugged as he ushered you to sit back down, “you might be, i’m trying to find out.”
he nodded with his lips pursed, folded into a frown that wasn’t exuding any sort of negative reaction, more impressed than anything. “fair game.”
your tattoo came out flawless, the lines he free handed onto your finger came out straight, perfect in thickness. as easy as it seemed, you knew the talent it took, the patience and a steady hand needed for such precision. after you paid, tipping him generously, your flirting returned with vengeance.
“i think we hit it off if i’m being honest,” you smiled, showing all of your teeth to the black haired man behind the counter, “do you have anyone else after me?”
he shook his head, “you’re my last, i had a cancellation.”
“oh my god– do you believe in fate? yeonjun, i think that’s what this is, i’m being so serious,” your eyes were wide, eyebrows shot up, smile wide. excitement bled from you, your veins, you were nothing but honest. so shameless, not a thought in your pretty little head that he’d reject you – he wasn’t sure if you’d care if he did.
he laughed, something he seemed to do too much during your entire service, his head hanging low in front of him before he picked it back up, looking at you who was already staring expectantly at him. “i don’t, but maybe if we go get drinks you can change my mind.”
you raised your fists, “i’ve won.”
the bar was halfway to your apartment, almost smack ass between the tattoo shop and your place. you’d been there before with your girlfriends, once or twice since your birthday – you could finally join in on the fun. yeonjun was dressed in all black, you’d soon come to find out he was always dressed in all black, and he never looked like he got enough sleep. you seemed so bright next to him, with your hair and your clothes and the plush keychains attached to your purse. you looked like total opposites, when you knew you had much more in common than what meets the eye.
that one night bled into the next year of your lives – something he was not expecting after your first interaction. it’s not like he’s never had a client try to bag him before, but something about you was different, it drove him insane that he couldn’t put a finger on it. he was used to playing games, always the winner, never the loser. he was used to confusion, being stuck in the inbetween, the gray area that sometimes came with relationships, or lack thereof. with you it was so straight forward, a slippery slope, not a hole he dug himself into but instead a well, one full of water, full of life. he never wanted to stop drinking from it, gulp after gulp, chugging until he was so full he thought he might spill over.
the spilling didn’t come until six and a half months in. your first two months were every man’s wet dream – he had every inch of you, every fistful of perpetually iron-curled hair, every corner of plush skin burned to memory – on every surface of your apartment and his.
in yeonjun’s past relationships, he never seemed to be the problem. if anything, he was the victim.
small fights to massive blown out arguments over petty shit, staying out too late with his coworkers at his favorite bar to beomgyu stealing him for a night out clubbing, missed texts and phone calls to going MIA for three days. yeonjun never seemed to understand what the issue was – petty arguments were never his thing, he’d rather stay silent than give into whatever the fuck his current plaything was yelling about this time. so what if he stayed out too late with his coworkers? he still came home. there’s no harm in a night out clubbing with his boys, she didn’t even know about the girl that was grinding against his dick all night, or the other one that had her lipstick smeared across his lips in the corner of the dark club. he went MIA for three days because his phone was dead, not because he had her number blocked. it was ridiculous, really, the things women would try and pin on him – yeonjun never seemed to think he was the issue at all.
the thought never crossed yeonjun’s brain that these behaviors were learned, or that he could teach them to anyone else. he never thought that his pretty, bright eyed new girlfriend would turn into a different version of himself – if she did, he’d be grateful, he thought himself pretty fucking cool – yeonjun never thought any of his behaviors were bad, but when yeonjun got a taste of his own medicine he knew he met his match.
he showed up at your apartment past midnight, drunk off his ass, clothes oozing whiskey, weed and burberry her. he let himself in with his key, the one you gave him after three months in, the one you told him to use whenever he wanted. he called out your name, searching from room to room, but you were nowhere to be found. he’d never shown up to an empty apartment, there’s never been a lack of you, cuddled up in a fuzzy robe, either under your duvet or sitting on the couch watching reruns of your favorite drama. yeonjun was confused, his dazed head couldn’t think up a proper reason for your absence, he decided to do what he absolutely fucking hated to be done to him.
he called you about thirty six times, texted you about forty two times. he also left four voicemails, not one of them nice.
he sat there on your couch – after a much needed shower, a bottle of water and a change of clothes you kept for him in your bottom drawer, he sobered up real quick. he felt more level headed, but he couldn’t ignore the anger that began to grow, a pit that sat heavy in his stomach: where the fuck were you? who were you with?
you damn near fell into the room an hour later, keys falling to the floor after you ripped them out of the door. you giggled to yourself, your heels in your hands, fingers curled into the heel of your black pumps. the strapless, sparkly scrap of fabric he could barely call a dress was crooked, your hair that was always purposely styled to perfection was a mess, your red lipstick was smudged down your chin. yeonjun’s seen this scene before, he’s done it, he’s lived it.
“who fucked you?” were the first words that left his mouth as he stood in the living room, oversized black clothes hanging off his frame like hade’s robes. the breath that left his nostrils was hot, burning his cupid’s bow, his jaw locked with his usually plump lips scrunched to a thin line.
you laughed – you fucking laughed. “you’re a fucking psychopath, junie. i just came back from a night with the girls!”
yeonjun was not buying it – he stepped closer. the stench of alcohol was masked by dior sauvage, a smell he knew too well, a smell that drifted past him as you nearly pushed him out of your way. yeonjun was dumbfounded and raging, his eyebrows furrowed together, his hands held out in front of him like he didn’t know what to do with them.
his girl, his only girl – well, other than the girl he made out with earlier – he couldn’t fathom the thought of someone else’s hands on you, being so close to you that you came home smelling like him. he followed you to the bathroom.
you were already stripped down bare – no bra and no panties to be seen on the pile on the floor with that thin scrap of fabric, yeonjun couldn’t collect his thoughts fast enough, his rage was creeping up his spine, sitting in his stomach like food poisoning, threatening to come out whether he wanted it to or not.
“you’re lying,” was all he could get out as you brushed through your hair, putting it in a tight knot atop your head, a small smile still sitting on your cheeks. he didn’t sound angry enough, his voice wasn’t stable, his feelings weren’t enough to give his voice ground to stand on.
“no i’m not,” you said it so simply, so matter-of-factly, like your words were the honest to god truth. you turned to him, your best innocent look paired with that award winning smile, “wanna shower with me? or did you already when you came home from the club?”
yeonjun had a full body reaction, his eyebrows furrowed and his face scrunched up in disbelief and shock, for just a moment there he thought he might be insane. did he make that up? was the dior he smelled just remnants from being with beomgyu earlier? no, no he showered, that was all you. he was not insane. he stepped closer.
the smell of a shower he’d taken just an hour ago filled the room, the body wash that you always used was the only scent he could decipher. he took a breath, “you fucked someone.”
“i think you might still be drunk, baby,” you wore a fake pout, raising your right hand to run your thumb across his bottom lip, “happy anniversary, by the way. six months!”
that was the start of everything – his pretty little bright eyed girlfriend was buried somewhere, six feet deep in wet soil, replaced with something akin to a fucking monster. when yeonjun first met you, you had told him you had so much in common, yeonjun didn’t believe it, didn’t see it. he thought the two of you were polar fucking opposites, yet he liked you anyway, liked that you introduced him to a new type of relationship. while yeonjun spent six months subconsciously teaching you his own behaviors, you spent the time purposely teaching him quite a few of your own.
goodmorning texts to goodnight texts to facetime – yeonjun never did any of that shit before. yeonjun has never bought a single person a bouquet of flowers in his entire life. yet here you stood, his pretty little bright eyed girlfriend, in the middle of your salon surrounded by a herd of your coworkers with a bouquet signed ‘your junie <3 love you baby!’
his friends called him whipped, a simp, a cuck, every name in the fucking book because yeonjun adored you, and it was painfully obvious. you’d come to beomgyu’s garage, parading around in a mini skirt and your tiny little purse that yeonjun was sure only had lip gloss inside, getting him beers from the fridge and cracking them open, handing them to him with a smile and sitting straight on your throne: his lap. his friends adored you too, they couldn’t figure out what you saw in yeonjun – with his dark clothes, heavy tattoos that covered his body, bags under his eyes, black hair and too much metal through holes in his face. his friends were constantly flirting with you, getting you whatever you needed, they were the ones cracking beers and serving them to you, yet you were doing it for yeonjun.
yeonjun was filled with pride, he loved it. a trophy they could look at but never touch. he’d never had this type of relationship before, someone so obsessed with him, someone willing to wait on him hand and foot, he slipped deeper and deeper into an emotion he’d never experienced before without even realizing it.
the day he did realize it, that was when the true fun began, because while he was unconsciously slipping, swimming deeper into that well, you stood at the top, holding the rope, pulling bucket by bucket out of the well with that award winning, innocent smile etched into your skin.
you weren’t kidding when you said you’d do art trades, even his coworkers knew your face by now, taehyun two stations down always offered his services when you sat down on yeonjun’s bench. you giggled and flipped your hair, saying why would i do that when my boyfriend’s a better artist than you?
god, yeonjun loved to hear those words leave your lips. it was a bit the two of you did, taehyun acted as if he was shot through the heart, a poisoned arrow slipping straight through his skin, and yeonjun could hear the sweet melody of your giggle through the shop. yeonjun has filled up one of your arms by now and half of the other– a garden, flowers, bees, butterflies, tattoos that were so undoubtedly you he couldn’t even make fun of you for them. he wouldn’t expect you to have anything else.
his favorite, though, was the YJ right above your hip. it was in yeonjun’s own handwriting, a doodle he marked on your skin for life, late at night after too many drinks – it was like he was in high school again. that was four months in.
that night, yeonjun felt the closest thing to his entire world caving in on him – he needed to go. he stared at the scribble on your hip while his face was buried between your thighs, you were writhing above him, hands buried in his hair, you always looked so fucking gorgeous like that. instead of being focused on you, determined to push you over the edge like usual, yeonjun’s head was clouded – hazy. he wondered how a person he’d met by chance just a few months ago could become so important, so detrimental to his life, he feared he would be a shell of himself if you ever chose to leave him.
it terrified him. he’d never felt this way about anyone before.
before that night, your relationship was golden – yeonjun was something out of a dream, a hero, the prince in your story, you were convinced you’d spend your life with him. he was honest, he was smart, he told you everything that he had wrapped up in his complex, dark brain, and you accepted every word that came from his mouth, every thought that popped into his head.
when he left that night, hours after shoving a twelve gauge needle in your skin with ink the color of his hair, you didn’t stress. you woke with a panic, of course, where the hell did your boyfriend go? but after twelve hours of no response, a trip to his shop, a night spent in his favorite bar, hours bent over your ikea bed frame, you knew what this was. you recognized this fear, you saw straight through him, yeonjun wasn’t as masked as he thought himself out to be. you’d shared too much, you knew too much about one another for yeonjun to be anything but transparent.
you paid attention. late nights, coming home smelling like another woman’s perfume, earrings that fell from his pocket when you did laundry, long and short pink and blonde and brown pieces of hair found around every inch of your apartment – you looked at the tattoo that sat above your hip, you knew there was no one else for you in the world. if yeonjun wanted to play the game, you’d play it too, you’d play it better.
the first three or four or twenty two times you did it – yeonjun didn’t notice. you even sent him home in one of yeonjun’s tees, one of his favorites, one that you successfully convinced yeonjun he left at his own apartment. when he couldn’t find it there, it wasn’t your issue anymore – with half of your wardrobe in two different places, you’re bound to lose a shirt or two.
it was only when you got sloppy, when you wanted him to notice, that he did. two months in, six and a half months after your relationship began, he’d caught you and you were so fucking close to convincing him that he didn’t.
“we’re fucking done,” he was seething as you stepped out of the shower, wrapping a plush beige towel around your torso, no effort needed to keep yourself calm.
“why’s that?” you continued to feign innocence, stepping in front of the mirror to start applying your skincare, not even glancing at the man who stood next to you, his hands balled into fists.
“i know you fucked someone tonight,” his voice was stern, it was hideous on him. you loved the cool, calm yeonjun better – you loved your yeonjun, the one you spent endless nights with, looking through his sketchbook, where he showed you all of his doodles, his drawings, when he let himself be the most vulnerable. “there’s no use in denying it, v.”
“and what have you been doing for the past two months, yeonjun?” your head snapped to look at him, your voice matching his, cadence slipping into something more harsh, laying yourself bare for him. you supposed your time was up. his mouth opened and closed.
“great,” his head dropped, low, sarcastic laughter slipping from his lips, “you fuck someone and blame it on me? project your cheating onto me?”
“there’s no use denying it, jun. have you talked to beomgyu? maybe you should ask him what he did after he dropped you off.”
you physically watched his face turn red – ears hot, crimson bubbling up from his chest to his throat to his face – you had to stop yourself from smiling. he stormed out, slamming the door behind him, and you slept like a baby. freshly fucked, coming down from a solid drunk, you felt brand new.
it was a week before you saw him again – honestly, you were shocked it took that long. that gorgeous, long black hair that curled around his ears, peeked from the hem of his hoodie, you longed to touch it, feel it between your fingers. he looked like he hadn’t slept since the last time he saw you, his bags sat heavy, dark, in your entryway, key in hand. you wanted to take care of him, wanted him to get a good night’s rest – next to you.
you sat on your couch, not a muscle to be moved in his direction, the two of you just stared at each other from across the room. moments went by, you’re sure maybe a full minute, then he was pacing towards you.
“hello?” you asked in disbelief and concern before he was pulling you up by your wrists, smashing his lips against yours. his lips tasted of whiskey, neat, cigarette smoke, menthol. you thought maybe you were addicted to tobacco too from the way his mouth felt euphoric against yours, an old friend you’d missed. it’s only been a week but it could’ve been a year for all you knew.
“you’re mine, you know that?” he’d asked between kisses, his mouth swallowing yours, his tongue stealing the words you couldn’t begin to think let alone speak. instead you nodded into his lips, fingers tangling in his hair, body forcing itself into his, you missed him. you missed his smell, his touch, the feeling of him against you, you missed everything. you never wanted to part from him again.
he had you split open on the couch as he knelt on the floor, head between your thighs again, eyes trained on the YJ that sat on your hip. he hadn’t seen it in a week, his brand on you, his initials that were inked into your skin for the rest of your life – he missed being between your legs, missed tasting you, missed taking everything you had to fucking offer. he missed you, his other half, the monster he created, his comfort, his home.
yeonjun would be lying if he said he was willing to part ways with you, but he’d also be lying if he said he was willing to acknowledge to the full extent of what he felt for you. yeonjun felt betrayed, played, messed with, like you snuck into his brain and plucked every single thought out of his head and fucking warped it. god, he loved you. he was so scared.
he told you as he barreled into you, fucking you like he hated you, whispering those words in a choked breath over and over into the shell of your ear. he couldn’t believe he was admitting it, couldn’t believe he was saying those three little words – you’re different, you’re everything. he loved you.
the months to follow were dancing right on the edge, together, but not quite. apart, but were you ever really apart? every night, wrapped in your sheets or his sheets – always someone’s sheets, always together. you never discussed sleeping with beomgyu, yeonjun never brought it up again, he looked back at that moment in his head and all he saw was weakness, a time where he let you slip away – let you get away from him. you never spoke of it, but it was always there, between the two of you like a wall.
that wall that stood between you was tall and rock solid, unlike the glass doors to yeonjun’s head, yeonjun’s thoughts, that wall of his was unbreakable – even when he came home smelling like burberry her again no argument in the world could pry that night out of him again.
you knew better this time than to try with beomgyu again, he hadn’t reached out since the night yeonjun left your apartment, you knew better than to try with anyone. instead of fighting fire with fire, you got distant, you spoke less, you asked less, you tried less. you became the ghost of his pretty, bright eyed girlfriend, one that had been to hell and back, one that learned from her mistakes. you became a reflection of yeonjun.
yeonjun checked his phone after his client, only two hours had gone by, surprisingly enough. it was a solid first session for his client’s leg sleeve, but his bones were aching, his eyes sore from being focused for so long.
v: you left the fucking lights on

Okay so I love all of the cap identity reveal stories. Obviously. The anticipation of the reactions, the fact that someone they’ve known for so long, someone they’ve fought with and laughed with and cried with, is not even half their age…
But what if they NEVER found out? Cap’s identity, I mean.
I don’t mean life just continues on with Billy leading his separate lives. It’s more like(this next part is so fucking drastic lol) the league thinks cap is dead and suffer with the hole he left behind, only to somehow find out he’s alive, and to add fuel to the fire, he’s a young radio host in Fawcett.
The JL( and other heroes if you want) are fighting a being with incredibly powerful magic. I’m not good with the specifics, but it lines up with someone like Lady Blaze. The YJ team are acting as reconnaissance and backup. Everyone’s doing their part, including Cap.
But then something goes wrong. A miscalculation is all it takes for the fight to spin in the villain’s favor. Magic is a fickle thing. One wrong move, and sparks will fly with reckless abandon.
The fight is nearing an end, and it’s clear that almost all the heroes have been rendered useless. They’re either limping up to go again, or unconscious from the strain.
Everyone but Captain Marvel, that is.
To bring an end to the fight, Cap unleashes a powerful stream of magic, something no one has ever seen him pull off. It seems to zap everything out of him. The next thing you know he’s falling, his body slowly disintegrating. He makes it to the floor and smiles at the other heroes, all of whom are crying their hearts out as gold dust replaces him, for divine beings have no blood.
Billy, on the other hand, is fucking pissed. Apparently, Shazam created a failsafe in case something like this happens. He wakes up in the rock, unable to transform. His magic is still there, and with Solomon’s help he learns that his champion form will return after a couple years. For now, he needs to rest his reservoir.
Now, you’d think he would go tell the league, right?
But he’s not so little anymore, and he now knows that him being younger won’t be the only issue. Younger him was only worried about that little tidbit, but in truth, there was no guarantee they would let him stay if they knew he’d been lying so much. If he’d been able to keep his age a secret for so long, what else could he be hiding?
It’s not something he wants to do. The League, the YJ team, the Titans, they’ve all become like a family to him, despite almost all of them(barring the magic heroes) not knowing who he is. But he can’t risk being watched by parental hawks whenever he’s doing his champion work as Billy. He can’t risk them learning about his… circumstances. His crappy uncle, his annoying cousin, his(an oc I created for this post specifically but dw he’s not that important) crooked cop of a younger-older cousin. His living situation, his previous state of malnutrition, and all of his responsibilities. What a nightmare that would be, explaining all of that.
Also, he tries not to sound too cocky in his head, but he’s fairly sure at least a little less than half of the JL would kill for him. Or at least they’d beat someone to a pulp, which is still a pretty big deal.
So, he washes his hands of the JL and the sub teams and handles his champion work(bar fighting now cause his other body needs to regenerate) in his civilian form. It helps that the magic community, all sides of the spectrum, collectively decide not to tell the other heroes that their Champion is alive. They can get really annoying when it comes to their Boy Scout 🙄.
Plot, plot, plot happens. I’m thinking maybe Whiz gets an opportunity to interview JL members and they send their best reporter for the job. Or maybe something happens on the magic spectrum that brings them closer to Billy. Either way, the JL finds out Cap’s identity without Billy knowing and they are PISSED.
Billy has to deal with countless vigilantes, heroes, and teams lounging on his couch trying to goad him into revealing who he is. Either that r they follow him throughout Fawcett. Some people are angry with him, like Conner or either of the Roys. They try to make him angry. They want to see the real Cap, the real Billy(which is stupid cause of course cap isnt a fake persona but they’re too mad to realize).
Others feel betrayed, like Artemis and Wally(I refuse to acknowledge his death). Cap was a best man at the wedding and they really started to look to him as a sort of father figure. In fact, all the younger heroes love how he stood up for them and validated their feelings. To know that so much of their worries were being shouldered by someone who was years younger than them…
And the JL is worse off too. Their coworker, who they trusted and cared for, had been living alone since he was a child. Having to save for scraps until he finally got a home of his own.
The magic users are practically waiting for Billy to blow a fuse at everyone either fussing over him, attempting to make him mad, or following him whenever they felt the need. Mary’s laughing her ass off and Freddy’s smirking because now he can say “I told you so”. Shazam’s shaking his head because he told his damn protege that the champion doesn’t DO teams, but look where they are now.
Teth is honestly ecstatic. Comes to the next higher ups meeting and laughs in Billy’s face.
And Billy? Billy at least hopes he can make some money off of this: Okay but if I let you stay on my couch for the next three hours, that’s gonna cost you.
No no, I’ll let you follow me, but only if you do this one interview.
Maybe just stop trying to make me mad and just talk to me? Like I get you have issues but I already have a shit load of that so…

I want to thank you for making your list of recommended long batfam fics. I have been making my way through it and I am really enjoying them! ESPECIALLY cards on the table (I also love Dark Matter but I had already read it). Please let us know if you ever get more long batfam fic recs 🥺
okay so ive been waiting to answer this until i had gathered a good chunk of new long fics and ive been getting a lot of similar messages asking for recommendations, so here is another list of my fav long batman fics!
Jason and the Three Terrors by @cdelphiki, 220k, ongoing, T. if i can get you to read one thing, let it be this. ohhh my god where to even begin, this is a fic where jason stays with the league after his dip in the lazarus pit for a little while and winds up being charged with getting damian, his cousin, and his sister out of the league safely. this fic is just so fucking good, cdelphiki always writes such seamless relationship growth and watching jason go from "im dropping these brats off first chance i get" to "im a single mother of three and i need to provide for my kids" is phenomenal. 1000/10, the writing, the kids, the relationships, please do yourself a favor and read this.
A Collision of Masks by Movaz, 169k, completed, T. !! guys. this is such a good dick grayson-centric fic. this is set in an AU where batman never joined the justice league so the justice league knows very little about batman inc. and consequently dick never joins YJ so the YJ team is tasked with checking out a new hero called nightwing in bludhaven and police officer grayson is tasked with helping the team in their investigation :) really good fic exploring dick juggling all his identities and finally gaining people he can rely on! i actually did a bind of it so you know i love this story so much
Life Happens by @cdelphiki, 176k, complete, G. ok so this fic is probably one of the most beautiful stories of growth and love i've read. its about tim and damian being transported from their world into ours where they're only comic book characters and they start to build a life for themselves here. cdelphiki is one of the most amazing authors, im currently going through all of their works, but this one has just stayed with me and i dont think anyone should pass it up. watching tim and damian grow together and seeing damian have a real childhood and just the whole concept of life happening wether you want it to or not is so beautifully done. cannot recommend enough.
Honoring Promises by LananiA3O, completed, 14k, T. okay this isnt actually a long fic, but its one of my favorite fics ever and i need it on this list. if you're like me and you love UTRH aus where instead of sticking around as red hood after bruce threw a batarang at his throat jason fucks off and disappears to live a normal life, this is for you. from dick's pov, he realizes jasons last letter was a last attempt at reaching out and stalks him until he finds out what really happened to his little brother. i think about this every day and wish it was 10000 words long
The Time Before by @cdelphiki, 80k, completed, G. at this point this is basically just a cdelphiki fic rec lmao when i said everything by them was good, i meant that shit. this is a fic where jason is sent back into time when he was 9 years old but still has all his memories from the future. he goes to bruce for help despite wanting to do literally anything else and is surprised to realize maybe everything isn't how he remembers it 10 years in the future and maybe theres a chance he can go home when hes older again. once again cdelphiki hitting me in the feels with this one, really amazing study on how time and pain can change how you perceive and remember things and also just forgiveness and fixing mistakes and accepting mistakes were made. very good, highly recommend
Good Fences Make Good Neighbors by Sophene, 80k, completed, batlantern, T. I have no excuse for this, this is such a fun and funny fic i love it so much. basically HOA president single dad bruce with his 10 million adopted kids and then hal jordan moves in next door and plays his music too loud at 10pm on a school night and throws parties and bruce has a stick up his ass about it. i really really love the shift in hal when kyle comes to live with him as his ward (? i cant actually remember if hes adopted or just a ward) and seeing him finally understand why bruce acts the way he does when it comes to his kids. also seeing bruce just being a tired dad 90% of the fic when he isnt glaring at hal is so good.
Option C by CasualGeek, 78k, completed, T. this has, in my opinion, a very unique and interesting premise. basically, what if instead of becoming red hood, jason comes back to gotham and manages to get Joker put on trial for the murder of sheila haywood and get the insanity plea thrown out. really interesting approach to batman and joker and jason technically doing things through the legal justice system and what that means for him and the people around him. very good, read it all in one sitting
butcherbird, fly away home by e_va, 41k, completed, M. lost days jason todd loml! basically what if when jason was off on his world tour one of his tutors kidnapped bruce wayne and jason has feelings about it against his will. "what if lost days jason was stuck in the same room as a sick bruce for more than 10 minutes and actually had to talk to him without punching him" AU and i throughly enjoyed it. @darlingatlas recommended this one and she never misses with the jason recs
this kind of weather by r_astra, 55k, completed, T. this is the fic something in the static was originally inspired by and if you know me, i love that series, and i love this fic too. another what if jasons mom didnt die until later and social services gets involved before he can bolt and bruce seeks him out with some very interesting news. i love fics that display jason’s relationship with crime alley and him being one of them. very good, i love jason so much
ok now these aren't actually long fics but i need to get them out here because i love them so much and highly recommend!
To My Brother by a_silly_gander, 7k, completed, T. Lost days jason au where he starts sending post cards from his travels to dick on a whim while we follow his time away and the people he meets. i love this one so much, please read it if you love jason and dick, its so special to me.
Enhanced Fashion Sense is a Perk of Being a Cat by 12pt_timesnewromanfont, 23k, complete, G. selina breaks into drake manor to steal a cat artifact and accidentally meets the drakes ten year old son they left home alone. then she starts keeping tabs on him and eventually adopts him and makes him stray. i really love selina finding tim before bruce and taking care of him <3 10/10 i wish selina would adopt me

As Long As You Care
Part 1 of the "Somebody Else" series
Tumblr media
Pairing: Soobin x Reader, Yeonjun x Reader
Summary: From the moment he first met you, Soobin has had the biggest crush on you. The only thing standing in his way is his college roommate, Yeonjun, who you’ve been in love with ever since you were little.
Tropes: love triangle, unrequited love, fake dating, frat boy!yeonjun, nerd!soobin, roommates, college AU, childhood best friends
Word Count: 2.4k
Warnings: drinking, sexual tension (mdni!), curse words, yj is an asshole
A/N: TBH I feel like this is one of my weakest works so far, but I really like the concept and already have the whole thing planned out, so I will try and see completing it through <3
“If you could see that I'm the one who understands you Been here all along, So why can't you see? You belong with me" —You Belong With Me, Taylor Swift
“If you have a crush on Y/N, then go for it,” Yeonjun laughs, surprised that Soobin would even bother to get his permission, as if he wants your hand in marriage or something.
“Really? You don’t mind?” Soobin blinks back, unsure of whether or not his roommate is being serious. You’ve been friends with Yeonjun since you were little kids, so Soobin figured that running the idea of asking you out by him was surely the right thing to do.
“If you’re worried about whether me and her are more than friends, don’t be. If we were going to start dating, we would’ve when we were in high school. God knows it would’ve made our moms happy.”
“Would you help me then? You know her better than I do,” Soobin continues, eager for tips on how to properly woo you. “Do you know her favorite kind of flowers?”
“Can’t say I do,” Yeonjun shrugs. “Listen, Soob, Y/N is a hopeless romantic. And she’s never even had a boyfriend before. I’m sure whatever you come up with will exceed any and all of her expectations.”
Yeonjun’s excuses for why the moment doesn’t need to be special are precisely why Soobin wants to take so much care in planning things. It would be your first date, first boyfriend, first everything.
Well, except for your first kiss, which Yeonjun had graciously stolen back in middle school, years before he had even introduced you to Soobin. Both of you have asserted that it was only once, and simply for you to get it over with before a school dance in the hopes that your real crush would make a move.
Soobin would be lying to say he doesn’t get jealous of the two of you. Plus, Yeonjun is totally wrong. From what others have said, you’re extremely picky when it comes to guys.
“So, when are you going to ask her?” Yeonjun says, snapping Soobin out of his trance. “She’ll be here any minute if you wanna do it then.”
“She’s coming over now?” Soobin asks, his palms feeling infinitely more sweaty. He hasn’t had any time to do his hair or choose a good outfit, let alone run to the store and pick up any of the little presents he had planned on getting for you.
“We’re going to get breakfast. Some new café she’s been dying to try,” Yeonjun replies, his mouth full of a croissant. Soobin rolls his eyes. If the two of you are about to go out to eat, why the hell is he stuffing his face right now?
Soobin checks his watch. If he leaves now, he’ll surely make it back before the two of you return. “Can you make sure that you guys come here when you’re done?”
“I can make no promises,” Yeonjun sighs, staring at his reflection in the hallway mirror. He throws on a pair of sunglasses, his phone ringing to signal that he’s gotten a text, most likely from you. “Y/N is going to meet me outside. It’s now or never, dude.”
Soobin glances out the window and spots you standing in the courtyard, wearing a floral sundress that hugs you in all the right places. The sunlight shines down on your hair, leaving a glow that makes you look absolutely angelic. He swallows hard.
You’ve made yourself comfortable on a bench just outside, your feet propped up on the arm rest.
“It looks like she’s been waiting a while,” Soobin observes.
“Yeah, I know,” Yeonjun says nonchalantly.
“Shouldn’t you hurry up, then?”
“Why are you asking so many questions?” Yeonjun scoffs. “Since you’re so concerned, I’ve got a date after this, okay? Well, if you can even call it that. Point is, I need to look good, and that takes time.”
“I guess I’ll just ask her another day, then,” Soobin sighs in defeat, backing away from the window. He knows better than to push Yeonjun. “Listen, will you do me a favor?”
“Depends on what it is.” Yeonjun is still admiring himself, now unbuttoning even more of his shirt. He might as well go topless at this point, Soobin thinks to himself.
“Could you maybe mention me and see how Y/N reacts?” Soobin asks, adjusting his glasses.
“I will for 30,000 won,” Yeonjun deadpans, not even bothering to look Soobin’s way.
“Are you joking?”
“No. I don’t care if you guys date, but I certainly won’t be making it easy for you. She’s my friend. If you become her boyfriend and start taking her out, that’s less time she’ll be spending with me.” Sometimes, most of the time, Soobin really hates his roommate.
“You suck,” Soobin says, reaching into his wallet and handing over a few bills. “Here.”
“Pleasure doing business,” Yeonjun grins, pocketing the cash. A knock at the door startles both of them. “Why don’t you get that?”
Soobin heads for the door, knowing you’re on the other side of it. He mentally prepares himself, smoothing his hair into place and checking his breath.
When the door swings open, you’re surprised to see Yeonjun’s roommate staring at you.
“Uh, hi,” you greet him. Soobin holds his breath. You’re even more beautiful up close. “Is Yeonjun ready to go? I’ve been waiting downstairs, for like, ten minutes.”
“I don’t think so,” Soobin says, stepping aside to let you into the dorm’s common room. “You’re welcome to wait, though.”
“Thanks,” you reply, stepping in and spotting your best friend fussing with his hair. “Hi Junie!”
“Hi, Y/N,” Yeonjun smiles. He pulls you into a tight hug. “Sorry to keep you waiting. I didn’t see your texts. I just need a few more minutes, okay?”
Soobin knows his roommate is lying, but he’s not going to be the one to tell you that.
“Oh, yeah, of course,” you say, making yourself comfortable on the couch. You turn your attention to Soobin, who you don’t really know much about. “How’s your morning going, Soobin?”
“It’s good. Great, actually! A little busy, but I like having things to do, you know?”
“Yeah, I get that. What are you up to?”
“Mostly running errands. Then later I have to take some photos of today’s soccer game for the school newspaper, go to jazz band practice, and study for my econ midterm,” he rambles.
“Wow. That’s… a lot.” Your eyes widen, wondering how he manages to juggle that kind of schedule. Sure, you care about extracurriculars too, but never enough to risk burning yourself out.
“Soobin is a real nerd, Y/N. If you ever need a tutor for anything, he’s your guy,” Yeonjun calls from the bathroom.
“Ooh, okay. How are you at multivariable calculus?” you inquire. It’s the class you’ve been struggling with the most this semester.
“Math is unfortunately the one thing I’m bad at,” Soobin admits. He opens his mouth to keep talking, but Yeonjun’s finally returned, at last ready to go.
Soobin watches as Yeonjun’s hand finds yours, pulling you up off the couch before finding its way around your waist. “Let’s head out, babe.”
“Yay! Okay, well, bye, Soobin!” You wave, being pulled along. “I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Yeonjun drags you out the front door before Soobin can even say goodbye, the sweet scent of your perfume lingering in the air behind you.
Soobin waits a few minutes to make sure the two of you won’t be stopping back in before he faceplants onto the couch, letting out a long sigh. At this point, he isn’t sure if he’ll ever have the chance to tell you how he really feels with your “best” friend standing in the way.
—————-
Soobin’s heart nearly beats out of his chest the second he lays his eyes on you. You’re wearing the same sundress from earlier today, but this time without the slouchy cardigan draped over your shoulders, and your hair is thrown into a perfectly messy updo. To top it all off, you’ve got glitter dusted along your neck and collarbone, making you shimmer under the glow of the frat’s neon lights.
He wants nothing more than to lean down and kiss it all off of you. The only issue is that you’re surrounded by a ton of other partygoers who probably all want to do the same.
You’re the only reason he even bothered to come to this party and he might not even get the chance to talk to you. He may not have been of any help this morning, but at least Yeonjun was decent enough to text Soobin and let him know the two of you would be here tonight.
“Soob! I didn’t think you’d actually come!” Yeonjun’s voice startles him as he claps his roommate on the shoulders from behind, his hands still wet from swimming in the pool. Soobin jerks back, nearly spilling the contents of his red solo cup.
“She looks hot, doesn’t she?” Yeonjun continues, glancing past him to see you twirling your hair as you gently let another guy know he has no chance with you. Soobin hates it when he talks about you this way, even if it’s true. “Did you tell her you’re in love with her yet?”
“We haven’t even talked,” Soobin says, his voice barely reaching above the music’s blast. He stares down at his white sneakers, sticky from the spilled drinks and god knows what else is lining the frat’s linoleum floors. “Did you do what I asked you to, by the way?”
“Shit, sorry, man. I totally forgot. But you know what? Maybe we can change your luck,” Yeonjun smiles, feeling a bit sorry for his lovesick roommate. “Me and a few other people are gonna start a game of spin the bottle in the next room if you want to try and kiss her.”
It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. Except when you spin the bottle and it glides past him, landing instead on Yeonjun, Soobin’s heart plummets into his stomach.
You lean past him with a shy smile on your face, wrapping your arms around your best friend’s neck as he pulls you into the steamiest kiss Soobin has ever seen. It’s enough to make him wonder if maybe the two of you have done this more than just once.
Despite being over in seconds, it feels like hours to Soobin. To make matters worse, when you pull away, your lips wet with Yeonjun’s saliva, you wave at him with the most gorgeous smile in the world.
“Sorry, man,” Yeonjun whispers to Soobin, running a hand through his hair, messed up from where your fingers were just laced through it. “Maybe next round.”
If Soobin could fight, he would’ve certainly thrown a punch straight into his roommate’s jaw. But even though he towers over him by a few good inches, he knows that he’d be out like a light and wake up with a black eye that’ll truly never let him forget about this moment.
When it’s finally his turn, it lands on a girl just a few spots over from you and he does his best not to look disappointed. She’s pretty, for sure, but she’s not you. Soobin plants a quick kiss on her lips and the crowd groans.
“More!” an unfamiliar voice chants. The rest of the players join in, although all Soobin can pinpoint is the sound of you nearby, egging him on to make out with another girl.
He relents, enough alcohol in his system to finally let loose, pulling the girl into a fast, sloppy kiss. The crowd shifts to whooping and hollering, and he sees you giggling with one of your girl friends out of the corner of his eye.
It isn’t until the two of you watch as Yeonjun gropes that same friend seconds after the bottle lands on her that Soobin notices a shift in your mood. Your once everlasting smile has been replaced with a blank stare that unmistakably signals heartbreak.
Soobin would know. He was making the same face just a few minutes ago.
Eventually, the game fizzles out and everybody disperses back into the frat’s crowd, still going strong despite being hours in.
After wandering around the party for a while, Soobin spots you at the keg, frustratedly pouring yourself another beer. From the way you’re stumbling, he knows it’s probably not a good idea for you to actually drink it.
“Hey, wait,” he intervenes, grabbing the plastic cup out of your hand. “Y/N. Maybe you should slow down.”
“Fuck off,” you scoff before turning to see who’s interrupted your binge. Your cheeks heat up at the sight of Soobin, Yeonjun’s roommate. He usually never comes to these things and has only ever been really, really nice to you. “Soobin. I am so, so sorry. I’m just going through it right now.”
“I can see that. Do you want to get some fresh air?”
“Yes, please.” He loops his arm around yours and guides you outside, making sure that you don’t trip on any uneven steps or loose cans.
If it were Yeonjun, he’d carry you bridal style, letting you nuzzle your head into his shoulder until you reached your dorm room.
“You can have some of mine,” Soobin says, handing over his drink as you steady yourself against the porch’s railing. “It’s just Sprite.”
You nod and gulp the entire cup of soda down, the bubbles tickling your dry throat.
“You’re jealous, aren’t you?” Soobin continues, catching you off guard. You turn to stare at him, eyes wide before you fix your expression to something more nonchalant.
“No, I’m not.” He looks back at you with a frown, letting you know that he’s seen just enough tonight to not believe any of what you’re saying. Soobin doesn’t seem like the kind of person you’d want to lie to, anyway.
“Fine, maybe just a little bit,” you admit, crossing your arms in defeat. “I mean, in general, how are girls like me supposed to compete with girls like her?”
“Lots of guys would kill to be with a girl like you. She’s just more… straightforward.” You can tell he can’t actually come up with a better explanation for why his roommate isn’t into you.
“I kissed him the way I’ve been wanting to for years now. I don’t know how much more straightforward I can get. You know, last week, I asked if there was anything going on between the two of them and he told me she wasn’t his type?”
“Who isn’t Yeonjun’s type?” Soobin laughs awkwardly, regret immediately settling on his face as he realizes he probably shouldn’t have said that. He’s right and you know it, though.
“Please tell me they aren’t making out right now,” you change the subject, hoping and praying that the answer is no.
Soobin glances over his shoulder back into the party to see Yeonjun and your friend entangled, his hands gripping her hips as she grinds into him. “He’s… certainly doing something to her.”
“Wow. Okay, that’s all I needed to hear.” You walk past Soobin to stare at Yeonjun and your friend all over each other. It’s a horrifying scene, but for some reason, you can’t tear your eyes away. “You know, I’d hate to see how he is with a girl he’s actually into. Men really suck sometimes.”
“Y/N, look at me,” Soobin says, his voice the steadiest its been all night.
“Huh?” you ask in confusion. Soobin turns you back around, his hand reaching up to brush a strand of hair from your face. It trembles against your cheek as he leans in close to you.
“We can get back at him,” he whispers, both of your heart rates rising by the second. His breath is hot against your ear. “If you want to.”
You can’t believe the words that have just come out of his mouth. Choi Soobin, Yeonjun’s sweet roommate who has only ever spoken to you in the most polite and platonic way, is offering to help you make your best friend jealous.
Your silence makes him backtrack, the panic in his voice evident. He really has no clue what’s gotten into him. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I was just joking! I didn’t actually mean—”
“Let’s do it,” you say, cutting him off. Before he can protest, you’re pulling him back into the frat house and onto the middle of the dance floor, right next to Yeonjun.
Soobin can barely believe this is happening right now, and if his arms weren’t wrapped around your waist, he’d pinch himself.
Usually, you keep to yourself at parties, kindly entertaining men’s advances, but never giving them the satisfaction of dancing with you. Tonight, you’re breaking all of your own self-imposed rules with the guy you least expected to.
“Kiss me,” you say into his ear, loud enough to fight the music’s volume, but quiet enough for Yeonjun not to hear. Soobin looks at you with sheer panic on his face and you know immediately that he’s incapable of making the first move.
At least that’s what you think before he crashes his lips onto yours. Despite watching him awkwardly make out with someone else earlier, he’s surprisingly good at kissing. There’s a hunger to the way he grabs your waist and pulls you closer that makes you smile into him.
As you feel his soft hair beneath your fingertips, you almost forget why you’re kissing him in the first place. When you finally separate, you turn to see Yeonjun staring at the two of you, a sly grin on his face that makes you question if you’ve made the right decision.
—————-
“That was so humiliating,” you groan, trudging down the sidewalk. Soobin trails you like a puppy dog. “He was happy for us. So much for making him jealous. You know, maybe we should just call this whole thing off now.”
“No!” Soobin panics. “I, uh, I have an idea.”
“Which is?” you say, stopping to look at him. You can tell by the way he stares blankly at you that he doesn’t actually have an answer.
“Well… if we keep this up, then Yeonjun will see how great of a girlfriend you are and he’ll want you for himself! Really, we’ve just gotta give it more time.”
Your head aches, but Soobin does make a little bit of sense. “Fine, okay. How long are you willing to put up with me for?”
Soobin knows he can’t say forever. “Why don’t we try until the end of the semester? If he doesn’t confess his love to you by then, then we’ll stage a break up.”
“Sounds like a deal,” you say, reaching out your hand to shake. Soobin hesitates. “I don’t have cooties, you know. Besides, your tongue was kind of just down my throat back there.”
“Right, sorry,” Soobin says, taking your hand into his. It’s much bigger than you expected, nearly covering yours in its entirety. “Deal.”
“Come on,” you say, continuing your trek back to your dorm. “Let’s go.”
“My room is the other way,” he attempts to remind you. You don’t even bother to look back at him, wanting to get out of the cold and into your bed.
“We’re going to mine. Yeonjun is never going to believe we’re together if he catches you in your own bed tonight.”
