Fully I need some of y'all to recognize that you are asking us to sacrifice ourselves for your morals. Pure and simple.
I just find it deeply frustrating as someone who has been not only Pro-Palestine, but anti-zionist for nearly 2 decades seeing people who couldn't locate Gaza on a map tell me that *now* aid to Israel is a deal breaker. We've known every US President has been supportive Israel from the partition to the Nakba to violation of the 67 boarders to the Iron Dome to now.
Y'all act as if Joe Biden has been unique in his Zionism and relationship to Israel when he is just another in a long line. My G-d the last guy (A MAN CURRENTLY RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AND WHO WILL WIN IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING) inflamed tensions in the region by moving the capital to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv and has told Netanyahu to "finish the job."
If this were an option of "worse conditions domestically and the genocide ends" and "better conditions domestically and the genocide continues" you'd have some kind of argument.
But what we have is "better conditions domestically and the genocide continious (with someone who is open to an arms embargo and ceasefire)" and "worse conditions domestically AND the genocide continues (and potentially gets worse and includes the West Bank)".
This isn't even a trolley problem, because one of the victims - the only one you seem to care about - is tied to both tracks. And one of those tracks (the only one y'all ever seem to want to talk about) has the opportunity to slow down or even stop the trolley. But since it won't stop fast enough, we have to go with the other one that I'm tied to.
I understand that some of you are too young or too caught up in ideology to realize this, but a vote is not an expression of morals.
I can't advocate for Gaza if I'm dead. I can't protest for Gaza if it's illegal and they deport everyone who supports Gaza (which is an actual plan Trump is running on). I can't fight for Gaza if I'm too busy fighting to stay alive.

That is certainly - a statement.
What about Jim, who both metaphorically and literally discovers a path for themself beyond what they were raised to be? What about Pete, who learns to overcome his toxic masculinity, his posturing and self-importance? What about Ed, whose entire story is about deconstructing the performance that is expected of him?
What about, oh, idk, our main fucking character Stede Bonnet, whose arc starts with him literally breaking out from the hetero marriage he was forced into despite never fitting in? Who tries (and initially fails) to build a community where he can be himself? Whose entire story is about discovering his own queerness! He starts out not even able to put a finger on WHY his marriage made him feel so suffocated, and then journeys through s1 until he reaches the emotional climax - "His name is Ed"!
Contrast that with Izzy, who has to be dragged into a supportive community kicking and screaming. Who rejects care and compassion, even at his worst, who has to be forced to accept help. He receives the leg and calls the crew a homophobic slur for it, ffs. Only after that, only when people refuse to let him push them away, is he able to poke his nose into something approaching positive human connections. And that's a powerful narrative, sure, in it's own way; but it's hardly the Ultimate Queer Experience, and it's definitely not the "only queer arc".
And Izzy never lets go of the old ways. He never abandons the Blackbeard-era pirate lifestyle for something more positive, not fully. And that's okay, because ultimately, his arc isn't even about himself.
It's about Ed.
Ed keeps repeating toxic relationship patterns, and Izzy is a part of that. He's linked (on purpose, and I wish it had been done more explicitly) to Ed's father; because Izzy represents the poison that was instilled in Ed from a young age, and that has become so entrenched in his system that he can't imagine a life without it. He keeps Izzy around despite being hurt by him because Izzy is predictable, and in that, is safe, even though he hurts Ed; at least it's a hurt Ed is familiar with and can rely on.
When Izzy slowly changes it's to show that Ed is growing beyond the little voice in his head telling him to reject softness, that he can never be loved, that We're just not these kinds of people. If Izzy can evolve from someone spitting boyfriend at Ed like it's a slur to someone congratulating him on getting laid by that same person, Ed can overcome his inner demons telling him the same thing.
That's the point of Izzy's arc. And this is why he has to die, because Ed can never be truly free as long as Izzy is around. So Izzy goes, quietly, peacefully, and releases Ed of the poison; apologizes to him, tells him I was so wrong, and I am so sorry, because that's what Ed needs to hear to move forward.
And that's such a kind, positive way to end the story of Izzy Hands.

"You look so ugly."
you swing your head around to face your boyfriend, a grin on his face as he steps closer— your hair pulled back and face mask on your face.
"Haha, very funny, 'Kuna." you frown, crinkling your pink see-through mask— the room scented of roses. Sukuna snickers, wrapping an arm around your body and staring into the mirror in front of you— biting his lower lip and squinting his eyes, "I take it back, you're sooo sexy." he sways his head side to side before chuckling as you slap his arm.
"I got a face mask for you too."
he glares at you, "that's my cue to get the fuck outta here."
"Kuna! c'mon babeee, it's one of those golden ones." you show him the packaging, it reading as 24k karat— pure gold face mask.
"You got this with my money didn't you?"
you pout, before he sighs, pulling a chair next to yours— grabbing one of your kuromi-themed headbands and using it to hold his hair back. it looked silly, but cute.
such a big man in such a cutesy accessory— his tattoos adorning his skin were peaking through his black tanktop, legs spread over his chair as grey sweatpants adorned said legs.
his hands grab onto your pink fluffy robe, black nails a contrast to the soft pink—
"Do I needa take my piercing out too?" he questions as his other hand points at his snakebites, then his eyebrow piercings.
"Oh, 'Kuna. I love you—"

some additional doodles and a Lot of Headcanons... sorry if im spamming these a little bit. ive got so many thoughts in my head, lmao
theres my older pacifica- after weirdmageddon, her and gideon become friends. theyre both sort of ostracized from the town as a whole bc of their past attitudes/actions so they cling together and become buds. its nice having someone else who 'gets' it.
pacifica moved out as soon as she could to get away from her folks and has a job at a local mall. gideon enables her to enjoy at least SOME of her old luxuries by taking her shopping and to get their nails done together and stuff. also his prison buddies help ''kindly persuade'' her parents not to break her enforced no-contact rule from time to time. i know the two have the bitchiest gossip in the entire town together. sometimes when its hard to be 'nice' they know they can at least vent to the other and they wont get judged for it, yknow?
also some backstory doodles! he was a Normal Kid, Once. or close enough to it. gideon was a sickly child and was sheltered and homeschooled for most of his life. the gleefuls moved from texas to oregon when he was about seven (yes i know this breaks canon a little. its fine shh.) and he found journal 2 shortly after. things went downhill from there
other notes. he's always kept his hair long, but used to either let it down or tie it into a long braid. he very briefly attended a public school and he didnt fare very well there (fat kid + albino + 'girly' + general weird interests is basically painting a massive target on your back) he used to stay up and watch late night televangelists when he couldnt sleep in hospital and copped his aesthetic from there
sorry this post is so long i have a lot of thoughts about him </3

i rlly rlly rlly love benson obsessing over randy. at first hes just another kid that works there. but over time he notices him, how pathetic he is, how weak he is. how he looks right into your eyes when he talks to you, pupils dilated with fear like a scared animal. his fidgeting, his shallow breathing. benson watches him like a hawk. he convinces himself hes just intrigued by him. he starts to think about him outside of work. wonders what hes doing. what music he likes. what does his skin feel like? he almost smacks himself. "you fucking disgust me" he'd mutter to himself in the mirror. he washes his hands, scrubs them till theyre sore. it gets worse. he feels randy under his skin. he hears his voice in his head. he cant even look at the color blue without wanting to punch something. he fucking hates him.
he wants to split him open. he wants to kiss him. he wants to tell him to man the fuck up. he wants to hold him. he wants to fix him. he wants to see him cry. he wants to ruin him. he wants to save him.

Something that really shocked me these past few days is the clarification that it isn't a matter of ignorance for these representatives and world leaders — it's blatant selfish interest that motivates them to commit atrocities on a large scale.
I think a small part of me assumed that once people find out about who we are and what we represent, naturally love will prevail instantly and the Palestinian people will finally receive our unending liberation — but that's not what happened. We have Biden confirming the beheaded babies stories despite not seeing a shred of evidence and at the same time downplaying the reported number of Palestinian deaths and it's not that he doesn't know. He's President of the United States for God's sake. He probably has intel on what Netanyahu ate for breakfast, of course he can see the public videos of Palestinian children with their heads blown off. Its not that he doesn't know — its that he doesn't care.
It's fully just the complete lack of compassion and empathy — placing your own selfish desires above everyone else's and for what? Truly, for what? For a few billion extra dollars? To assure that a select few will survive even if it means alienating the rest of your countrymen? Who is he serving and benefiting other than himself in this situation? What use is that money if you're going to die soon anyways?
I can't comprehend the level of selfishness these people have, to sacrifice lives that he knows can never speak up against him. But that's "the cost of war," isn't it Biden?
