Sadly, this is not even the first time I have seen someone in the fandom act horribly towards others in private, only to victimise themselves publicly.

I don't know why people have to act so horrible towards each other. Some people seriously need to log off and take their anger out on a football or something. It's not healthy to spend your time bullying other people online.

I love your art. You're one of my favourite artists in the fandom. I sincerely hope that you will not be discouraged to continue creating. Same to the other Bloodweave creators who I love, who were victimised by this person.

This place should be a safe space for everyone. We are all here because we love BG3, and we want to take some time out of the real world to play make believe with these characters.

No one should feel threatened or made to believe that they don't belong.

Hello everyone,

First of all I want to thank everyone that has supported me and my work over the past year and a half. It’s been wonderful to make friends with so many other creative people. I am not the type of person to spread fandom drama or make call outs. I am struggling quite a lot with my mental health. So I’ll make this brief.

I’ve had some ups and some very notable downs but the good people I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with largely outweighs the bad- although they seem the loudest.

I want to reiterate: I do this as a hobby. Anything I do is just for the love of the source material and for fun.

It’s a labor of love on my part.

I don’t consider myself a large creator or influencer. I do not have a large following. There are many many many artists with tens of thousands of followers. I don’t have even a fraction of that. I simply create a lot because I am able and inspired. So I am very visible. I maintain a patreon to fund my charity donations and to fund my support for friends and other creators. I often commission other artists and give away funds to help people out. Patreon affords me this ability.

I get hate for “making friends with the wrong people” For “sharing art when I already have a following outside of fandom Discord” “for not liking the right content”

I have faced a lot of jealousy, bullying, and harassment due to the perception I am a faceless monolith or heartless content vending machine. Someone out to gain clout and fame. I don’t care about any of that. I just want to put my doodles up on the fridge and show people my little stories.

These bullies get on anonymous platforms and vague post about me. Dissecting every thing that I do and spinning it into something ugly and malevolent. They spread lies and misinformation and bananas slander with zero credibility or evidence.

With this in mind I’ve removed myself from all public discords where my activity has been scrutinized and used to hurt me and my friends. I will not be joining any more in the future. My experience with Discord communities has been overwhelmingly negative.

it's been a while since i did a little self promo post, so!! I'm doing another one!!

Hello folks, I'm Glad! I'm a fic writer in the Hermitcraft and Life series fandoms and have specifically been writing platonic scarian for nearly two years now. i have well over 400k words worth of those two on my ao3, which you can find here!

My most popular fics on Ao3 and the ones that you might have heard of before seeing this post are:

-Phasmobros: a GIGGS centric phasmophobia fic similar to a chat fic, in which the story is told through a series of radio logs, emails, and text messages. I wrote it during the height of phasmo with the GIGGS crew in October of 2023, and it haunts me to this day as my best performing fic and the first fic i ever wrote /silly

-Mer AU: a series in which Scar is a Blue Catfish mer forced to showboat for an aquarium and Grian is working on his Masters in Marine Biology who notices something isn't quite right. Features angst, whump, hurt/comfort, and more!

My discord server's favorite fics are:

-Secret Worlds, aka Atlantis AU: follows the plot of Disney's Atlantis if the characters were instead from the Life Series and Hermitcraft. If you like action, adventure, and worldbuilding, this one is very fun. I really enjoyed doing a deep dive into the culture of Atlantis specifically in the Disney film and then expanding on it, and a few elements of the plot have been switched or tweaked to fit the characters better!

-Mer AU: See above! This one is a big fan favorite, so if you want a nice introduction to my writing, that fic is definitely the way to go!

-A Group of Crows is Called a Murder for a Reason, aka NVSK or Necromancer v Serial Killer: Based off of a Tumblr post, in which Scar is the leader of the local mafia and kills a lot of people, and Grian is a necromancer who keeps bringing them back. This one is packed with hurt/comfort, hybrid instincts, possessive characters, and complicated morality. If you like BAMF Scar and Grian and pathetic wet cat of a man Jimmy (he's trying his best), this fic is for you.

-Technical Difficulties: A Scifi AU in which Scar is an enforcer and Grian is a criminal against his will. After an explosive meeting, they work together to take down the organization that held Grian and his friends captive, and Grian faces some incredible challenges along the way. Featuring some experimentation and feral Grian, as well as my favorite, a concussion scene.

-Angel Ellipsis: An angel/demon AU with some very particular world building. Based off of SilverWing's fic Mischief and Mayhem but with my own personal touch to it. Grian is a demon being kept for experimentation by human scientists when one day an angel is thrown into the cage next to him. Hungry, scared, and desperate, they cling to each other, until a local group of ragtag creatures comes to save them. Loads of whump and angst in this one, but also plenty of hurt/comfort. Also features the ZITS crew!

-Don't Look Too Hard: An old one but a good one! Grian is a homeless avian keeping himself alive on the streets with his friends when he suddenly gets kidnapped by the House of the Watchers, a noble family that serves King Scar. He quickly becomes their slave and personal punching bag, but the Watchers don't seem to realize that Scar can sense exactly what Grian is feeling when they visit the palace. This one is a feel good fic! Hurt/comfort to the max with so much bird brain. There are also a lot of characters in this short fic, plenty to get excited over!

And finally, my personal favorite fics. Most of them are listed above, so check out the summaries there if you're interested!

-Mer AU: This one will always hold a special place in my heart. I spent ages on the worldbuilding, and it brought me really close to my community as well.

-NVSK: This was my passion project last year. I loved writing this one so much and I love it so so so much. Please check it out, it is my baby and it needs more love.

-Smiler AU: My little horror project! It's an apocalypse AU in which a species of aliens have invaded Earth with one purpose: to make people happy. Except they get a bit confused and think that if someone is smiling, that means they're happy, and if they're not smiling, that needs to be fixed. And the whole fixing process? Doesn't have a very high survival rate. The smiler afflicted area is walled off by the World Governments, and Grian and Scar are just a few of those people trapped behind that wall. I'm still working on this one, and it is once again, a really big passion project of mine, so please check it out!

Man I really feel like fandom on the internet is becomingly an increasingly toxic place for people who post content. I'm not strictly talking about the DL fandom (and actually as a smaller fandom I think it's been spared from a lot of the nonsense that plagues larger ones these days) but between AI stealing from fics and fanart, a lack of engagement from readers and this growing (and in my opinion concerning) anti-dark content sentiment, I feel like it's a lot harsher of an environment than when I first started posting here.

Used to occupy the same online space as a big group of artists (I technically still do I'm just not online as much I used to be) and one of them was this person who uses only black and white color palettes, which is super common. But they bugged me a lot after a while cause literally any time I myself used a black and white palette for an art piece they'd act like it was intentionally done as a reference to them, or that I was challenging them or something, when thats not what I was doing... About a trending Discord warning:

TL;DR: Discord is NOT making "Find your friends" enabled by default. You're probably not giving Discord your contact information without your knowledge. Their UI choices just suck.

There's a warning post going around by a person I'm not going to name, as I don't want people to dogpile on them. That is NOT the goal of this post, and if you DO harass anyone because of what I write, then you're a garbage person with garbage habits that needs to throw those habits in the garbage.

Rather, my goal with this post is to educate about a Discord feature that's not being represented properly.

Supposedly in the new mobile update, Discord added this ""NEW"" feature called "Find your friends", and then they enabled it by default. This feature allows users to use their smartphone contacts to search for their friends on Discord. It also enables others to be able to find you in the exact same way.

Obviously, this would be MASSIVELY dangerous from a privacy perspective.

Imagine if someone had relatives that use Discord. In a scenario like that, those relatives would have an easy way of finding the accounts of family members. And in some home situations, online anonymity from relatives could mean the difference between having an outlet and not having an outlet.

I'm also pretty sure I know some folks with alt accounts (you know who you are). And if Discord was somehow able to cross-reference all your contacts with the Discord accounts you're logged into, that would be DISASTROUSLY EMBARRASSING, to say the least.

So I totally understand how concerning this would be if it turned out to be true.

The thing is, it's not.

The person who made that warning misinterpreted THIS page:

This is the new "Add Friends" page for the Discord mobile app. Obviously, a page to help you add friends. There's a big 'ol window at the bottom showcasing Discord's "Find your friends" feature.

Now, this feature is actually NOT new. It's been around for a long time. But there's a very subtle change that happened with the new update. Take a look at how "Find your friends" used to look:

It starts by giving you a banner at the top of your friends list, telling you that this feature is available. Then when you click on it, it takes you to a page with UI elements that look awfully familiar.

It's pretty clear what happened. In an effort to condense down their friend-finding functions into one menu, Discord took the "Find your friends" setup menu and tossed it in with all the other ways to contact friends.

But by doing this, Discord has made this setup window confusing. It's not immediately obvious if the "Find your friends" feature is ON and running, or OFF and waiting to be activated.

Maybe it would have helped to make the blurple button read something like "Sync contacts" instead of "Find friends". At least then, you could tell at a glance that nothing has been sync'd yet. (Or y'know, maybe just stick to "Grant Permission". That was working just fine before.)

So it seems the OP:

Looked at the "Find your friends" setup menu that Discord hastily slapped into the "Add friends" page

Noticed the checkbox that read "Allow contacts to add me"

Saw that it was already marked

Then assumed that it must be some kind of tucked-away setting that was left ON by default.

To make this abundantly clear, "Find your friends" only works if you opt-in.

That checkmark allows you to tell Discord you are okay with people finding you in this manner. Unchecking it makes it possible to use "Find your friends" without others being able to find you the same way.

It doesn't get set up on your device until you press the big blurple "Find friends" button. Even then, you still have to add your phone number to your account and verify it via a 6-digit code sent via SMS.

After that, you have to give Discord permission to access your contacts via whatever phone OS you use.

You have to be pretty deliberate for any of these functions to start.

I won't say it's impossible to set it up on accident. It's a strange world, and stranger things have happened. If you want to, go check your app permissions to make sure you don't have contact permissions enabled for Discord. It's always good to be sure. But rest easy knowing that you probably don't have to worry about it.

In my opinion, I think that anyone who reblogged that warning should consider reversing those reblogs.

Honestly, I also think the OP should just delete their post instead of repeatedly adding amended reblogs to it. At the end of the day, the core of that post was misinformation and misguided assumptions. There's no real reason to keep it up.

Besides, I'd rather pin Discord on things they're ACTUALLY guilty of. Like designing a new UI that's widely mocked. And making things 10x more confusing for the end-user.

I have a lot of feelings about the use of AI in Everything These Days, but they're not particularly strong feelings, like I've got other shit going on. That said, when I use a desktop computer, every single file I use in Google Drive now has a constant irritating popup on the right-hand side asking me how Gemini AI Can Help Me. You can't, Gemini. You are in the way. I'm not even mad there's an AI there, I'm mad there's a constantly recurring popup taking up space and attention on my screen.

Here's the problem, however: even Gemini doesn't know how to disable Gemini. I did my own research and then finally, with a deep appreciation of the irony of this, I asked it how to turn it off. It said in any google drive file go to Help > Gemini and there will be an option to turn it off. Guess what isn't a menu item under Help?

I've had a look around at web tutorials for removing or blocking it, but they are either out of date or for the Gemini personal assistant, which I already don't have, and thus cannot turn off. Gemini for Drive is an integrated "service" within Google Drive, which I guess means I'm going to have to look into moving off Google Drive.

So, does anyone have references for a service as seamless and accessible as Google Drive? I need document, spreadsheet, slideshow, and storage, but I don't have any fancy widgets installed or anything. I do technically own Microsoft Office so I suppose I could use that but I've never found its cloud function to actually, uh, function. I could use OneNote for documents if things get desperate but OneNote is very limited overall. I want to be able to open and edit files, including on an Android phone, and I'd prefer if I didn't have to receive a security code in my text messages every time I log in. I also will likely need to be able to give non-users access, but I suppose I could kludge that in Drive as long as I only have to deal with it short-term.

Any thoughts, friends? If I find a good functional replacement I'm happy to post about it once I've tested it.

Also, saying this because I love you guys but if I don't spell it out I will get a bunch of comments about it: If you yourself have managed to banish Gemini from your Drive account including from popping up in individual files, I'm interested! About "tropes": The trope is called Angel-Devil shipping, oh but I don't think PV is an angel. He's more like a God for SM (at least that's my preference)… Thinking at all the possible tropes that suits them make me really wonder why some people consider Shadowvanilla a crack/pro ship. Enemies to lovers or villain/hero ships have been pretty archetypal since the day of olds. Compared to all the ships I've encountered in the past… Shadowvanilla is more or less the "slightly out of the norm" on the "problematic ships scale" <- typing this out make me feel like an old fandom veteran haha

About "how it happens": I have no idea where to put PV on that chart. He's the one who approached first, but not out of romantic intents, him falling for SM is as unexpected as can be. SM fell first and slowly, and in 'slow' I meant decades upon decades. It's inevitable, painfully so, spending all those years watching over this cookie who's so perfect in his imperfections, how could one not feel something? Of course it's not so simple, that 'something' is a horrid mixture of disgust, envy, hatred, understanding, both the need to preserve and destroy… And maybeee the tiniest crumb of affection? SM realized something around the first couple hundredth years mark, he then spends the next thousands in denial of it. No matter. Whether it's PV or the Soul jam, his birth-given rights. SM knows what he wants and he WILL get what he wants. (He's wrong on both fronts. And somewhere in the back of his mind, SM knows that. But he'll never admit it. He'll never ever admit anything. Until it's too late. In a way, the same goes for PV)

About a certain someone who's not clingy, but would die for attention: I think PV gets lonely easily. As he's hyper-aware of himself and considerate of others, appearing clingy is the last thing PV wants. So PV would put extra efforts in taking care of those around him, be it cookies, animals or the greenery in his garden. A healer is always busy, always helpful. If he's always needed by others then he would never be afraid of being alone. Ironically enough, this ended up making PV come off as a little overbearing. As of late, the only ones able to see through the facade are Hollyberry cookie and you-know-who.

Other scattered thoughts: These two are completely different yet can't be more similar, on the various sliding scales they're either stuck to one another or are flung to both ends. On another note, honestly I can't see these two doing anything domestic together, the most I can see is cooking, which is basically the same as magic in the cookie world. Anyways, are they in "love"? Are they dating? Not really, no. It's more of a a parasitic-turned-symbiotic-soulbond, a will-they-won't-they-destroy-the-world situationship (iykyk) I do enjoy relationships that's hard to put into words. Their feelings are somehow romantic, somewhat deranged and something much, much deeper.

My desire to ship these two comes from the desire to see them grow beyound their archetypes. Being with PV does give SM the chance to be horrible as can be, yeah, but I'd like to think SM does have a personality outside of being a villainous tormentor. He spends so long observing others, and now for the first time he's being seen. Now SM have met someone who can see right through him, who can glimpse into those dammed vulnerabilities of his. Being with SM does let us see PV in his darkest moments, but it's at the same time the moments where PV can shine the most, to prove SM that his ideals isn't naïveté or simple platitudes. In canon, SM+PV works well as enemies, but it is the many contradictions born when romance is added into the mix that got me shipping. They simultaneously break down and bolster one another's greatest traits. Like binary stars, they orbit around the other, so close yet so far apart, lest they collide. They could've been so perfect for each other. But not in this life, or the next, or the next...

I'M QUITTING + MY VOID STATE SUCCESS STORY

Hello guys, it's been a long time since i have posted something or in general be active here which was mostly because of personal reasons (just focusing on myself), although one of them had to do with our community.

I personally joined loatumblr at the middle of 2022 (from a previous anonymous account i had) but i started posting much later. Back then, the community was at it's peak ngl. The bloggers and the way they explained stuff was honestly, at least for me, so helpful and enjoyable. After the end of 2023 - beginning of 2024 this community started dying. I really didn't like this since I loved scrolling through specific blogs and reading their posts. I tried to post some stuff to give a little bit of life in there and i guess it did help a little.

Quick note; Please don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that the current posts and blogs running right now suck.. what i'm saying is that this community used to be way more alive back then.

One of the reasons why this happened is because people applied and got what they wanted. So they logged off tumblr. When I realised that, I decided to seriously focus on loa and start applying myself. And i ended up manifesting some good stuff, and I was good with it. Although, after some time, i decided that i wanted to manifest a completely new life from scratch, which it was what i wanted to do from the first time i joined tumblr but i ditched that thought and ended up changing some stuff about my current life.

My goal back then was to enter the void state (which im pretty sure it was 95% of the people in here goal too), but i didn't understand it properly so i couldn't 'enter'. I ended up ditching it and manifested without it. But after some point, i did my research and fully understood the void state or better, pure consciousness. If you go through my blog, you won't see much stuff about pure consciousness because i choose to not talk about it in here. The way it is treated it loatumblr just pisses me off. If you post a void success story, people will immediately run to you and ask you basic stuff like 'how did u do it?' when all the information needed about it is already posted. People tend to see it as something 'huge' and believe they can't succeed in it which is bs. If you do a little bit of research on pure consciousness you will understand how simple it is. Although, even if the 'void state' is seem like something that people overcomplete this doesn't mean that you can not use it. What i'm saying is that there are some people who really dislike the concept of it and will recommend u not to try it. Look, everyone has their different opinions and beliefs but if you want to manifest your dream life in the void state, go ahead. After all, it found you for a reason.

So coming back to my experience, since it was always my 'dream' to manifest my dream life in the void state, i decided to do it now. I'm pretty good at lucid dreaming (i've been lucid dreaming 3 years now) i decided to tap into my pure consciousness during a lucid dream. So i did my usual routine, had a lucid dream in which i closed my eyes and found myself floating in a void. I affirmed that i have lucid dreams everynight and then i got out. I did this 4 days ago, and i have had around 3-4 lucid dreams every single night, without doing any practise at all. Also, i have been scripting my entire dream life and i'm preparing myself to finally experience it. I have decided to make a looottt of big changes but two of them are the 'biggest' for me; numb.1 i will manifest that i will completely forget about my current life (i will also not remember anything about the law, for personal reasons) and numb.2 i will go back in time around 30 years ago (again for personal reasons). I mentioned this to make it clear to you that i won't be able to post my 'success story' after manifesting it, since i will not remember anything about me manifesting stuff and also even if i did, i wouldn't be able to post it since i will not have access to tumblr or current technology in general. So my success story is this one. This days, when i find the right time for me, i will have a lucid dream as usual and tap into my pure consciousness again which from there, i will finally manifest the life of my dreams. So that's my final post you will see from me. I hope you all never give up and get what you want because trust me it's worth it and all this found u for a reason. If you really want it and you stay consistent, then it's all yours. My words can not describe the way i feel right now, knowing that i have my dream life right in front of me and i can just grab it and give it to myself anytime, after this big journey. starts watching your live shows in secret like it’s surveillance footage.

finds out during a random interview when the host says “your girlfriend’s band is incredible, by the way.”

calls you with the calmest voice ever: “is there a reason why you’re leading a cult on stage and no one told me?” 

you go “i thought you’d be chill about it” and he goes “this is beyond chill. this is grammy nomination level. i need a minute.” 

insists on getting free tickets to your shows even though you always offer him VIP. 

ends up becoming the mysterious hot boyfriend in the crowd who dips after the encore. 

lets you have your spotlight but still flexes a little when people connect the dots.

finds out when he walks in on you casually practicing vocals in the garage.
