SAGAU au, but MC is the actual IMPOSTER, and the real CREATOR is a selfish asshole.

Imagine a MC who knew about the SAGAU aus from Tumblr, and who woke up one day in Genshin Impact, right outside Mondstadt.

They at first feel amazement, but then they see the statues... with their face. They realize then they were in a true SAGAU cult situation.

With this fact, they decided to test something. They prick their finger. Their blood is red, not gold. They weren't the CREATOR. They were the IMPOSTER.

Imagine how with this knowledge, the MC decides to stay away from all the nations and people. They didn't want to be mistaken as the CREATOR after all.

Because really, even if they did take over the CREATOR's throne for a bit until the true CREATOR arrived, what's to say all of Teyvat would take their lies nicely. They didn't want to die, thank you!

So, imagine MC hiding out in the wilderness, avoiding the whole cast of Genshin as the true CREATOR arrived and took the throne.

Only... the CREATOR wasn't like how the scriptures said. They were rude, arrogant, lazy, selfish even! ...But the people of Teyvat forgave them because oh, their grace was tired after their long journey, they deserve to be spoil. They would show everyone their love when they're better... Right?

Only, they didn't. The CREATOR remained how they were, and even Archon's themselves could only take so much...

Which is why it was Venti who happens upon the MC first.

Venti, who was tired from their precious CREATOR's tasks and 'love', happens upon a MC who gathering firewood for her tiny modest cottage. And he's like, who's this? An IMPOSTER with his grace's face? And before he could reach for his bow to enact 'justice'... His stomach growls.

MC, despite their fear... invites him to have dinner with them.

The Ameno Archon ends up staying the whole night, venting loudly as the MC refilled some dandelion wine they found left behind by some treasure holders while scavenging.

"Y-you're so nice, hic, w-why couldn't you have been the CREATOR..." Venti slurs, letting MC tuck him into their sole bed and he drifts off to sleep...

This whole interaction leads to a domino effect, as more of the Mondstadt characters stumble across the MC... and begin thinking along the same lines as Venti.

Why couldn't this person have been the CREATOR?

Soon it was open secret among the people of Mondstadt, and MC would have guests or travelers from Mondstadt camping out near their home while they were out in the Mondstadt wildness doing work and stuff.

Like it wasn't uncommon for Bennet or Amber to stop by as they did their routes, along with some the knights and Mondstadt adventurers, who mostly was just checking on MC or visiting with some supplies that just happened to have on hand.

This also weirdly included Dvalin, of all things. As MC woke up one morning to find the Ameno dragon snoozing on their front lawn like a cat napping under the sun.

All he tells MC is that Venti said they were nice, and he'd like him.

...At least MC had someone to nap with when Venti couldn't visit. Dvalin's fluff was so soft! The perfect pillow!

They were also even pleasantly surprised when Diona and Klee showed up one morning with some snacks... and a brand-new deck of TCG, just for MC.

With deck on hand, it wasn't uncommon for some of MC's visitors to pull them into a game. Though things did get awkward when someone drew the CREATOR card, which they immediately chucked into MC's fireplace with a huff and curse, breaking the awkward air with giggles.

Albedo, with his artsy self, even made MC a card that represented themselves, which was a sweet gift.

Though all the joy comes to an end when someone snitches. Apparently, a traveler from a different nation, caught sight of MC in the woods while on foot to Mondstadt and immediately told the CREATOR about an IMPOSTER on the loose!

Venti of course was one of the first to be sent out to deal with 'it'. Ugh, it made him sick at hearing the MC be refered as an 'it'. But he quickly finds them, helps them pack their things, and smuggles them to the border that led into Liyue.

There were tears as MC hugged Venti, whispering a quiet, "Thank you, Venti... Tell the others I'll miss them? A-and please don't drink too much, ok?" They had a shaky smile on their face, and Venti just hugs them one more time before pushing them towards Liyue.

And as MC disappears into the distance Venti prays that Morax and Liyue would see what he and Mondstadt saw in MC once the time came...

"...Be safe, MC. May the winds guide you to freedom..."

and as for charles, i have this haunting vision that he never forgot about lamb. he'd rip out his heart if she asked. she's the only holy thing left in him. it's his tortured triad of obsession with her, guilt for what he's done, and his own desire for love. that's why i think charles would try to save her. bring her home, where he can protect her. he can act all saintly, but a part of him knows he’s not trying to rescue her from so-called sin—he’s trying to rescue her from someone who didn’t need to force her to worship. so it tracks that charles would find his way to carlos, just in time to see his little lamb on all fours with her rosary clamped between her lips, carlos' cum dripping onto the ground from between her legs and his handprints littering her bruised skin. and carlos doesn't flinch when he sees charles standing frozen by the door; he waves the younger man over, leans down to purr something like "look who decided to join us, amor," into your ear. and charles shakes his head, pleads for carlos to "stop this, it's not right, let her go—" as voice cracks with something like grief. (carlos would probably let charles help with her.... conversion. he'd let her crawl back into charles' awaiting arms when he's done with her, watching condescendingly as she sobs into his robes from the altar, cock rock-hard under his own. he'd murmur something like: "next time, she won't cry when you spank her," under his breath, just to watch charles' cheeks go slightly pink.)

charles likes to pretend he's there to protect her. forcing her to choose the better of two evils, really. because if she's going to hell, he's most certainly going with her. 😭

Dumboldore is to blame that during their studies the Slytherins went to Voldemort, and what did he do to stop them? Slughorn did nothing. Compare how many Slytherins went to Voldemort when Slughorn was the head of the house and when Snape was the head of the house. And many people say that Snape is a bad head of the house.

Well, I find it funny how the saga keeps repeating that there's no place safer than Hogwarts, when honestly I think my kids would be safer in the middle of a forest surrounded by hungry wolves than in that school full of adults with pedagogical skills up their asses.

First of all, we're talking about a boarding school, meaning the teachers are not only responsible for educating the children, but also for taking care of them while they’re there. They're their guardians during the school year. In the absence of their parents, it's up to them to ensure the kids' safety, and the truth is, they don’t give a flying fuck. These are adults full of prejudice who project their biases onto the children without the slightest shame, and I find it amusing that everyone always targets Snape for this when it's actually a widespread issue across the entire teaching staff. Let’s not forget that Dumbledore judges Tom Riddle even before he sets foot in Hogwarts and already labels him a sociopath. Slughorn spends his entire career using children as tools to gain contacts with influential families. Hagrid is a complete idiot with the common sense of a rock, and he has a specific grudge against Slytherins from the very beginning, which he passes on to Harry before the boy even arrives at Hogwarts or meets Ron. I mean, we're talking about supposedly positive characters (not Slughorn, fair enough), who are portrayed by the narrative as “good people,” but are they really? Honestly, they’re just the same dysfunctional adults projecting their shit onto the kids. That’s all there is.

One thing that’s always struck me is how Draco is portrayed as this spoiled crybaby who keeps tattling to his dad, and how Lucius uses his influence to get his son out of trouble. And sure, I can criticize the Malfoys for many things, but I’m not going to criticize them for flipping out when their son tells them about the crap that goes on at that school. If my kid told me that he’d won the House Cup fair and square and then the headmaster arbitrarily changed the results last minute out of pure favoritism? I swear to you, I’d march into Dumbledore’s office and set his damn beard on fire. If my kid calls me saying they left a reckless werewolf who doesn’t take his potion around him and his classmates? I swear I’d burn the whole school to the ground. There are so many, so many things that happened at Hogwarts that if I were a mother and my kid told me about them, I swear I'd nuke the castle with all the faculty inside. Because yes, Draco wasn’t right about many of the things he complained about, and Lucius was corrupt—that’s true—but my point is, seriously, some dark shit went down at that school and the teachers allowed it. They allowed bullying, they allowed the formation of cult-like groups, they didn’t just allow but encouraged prejudice against one of the houses, fostering its ostracism and the radicalization of its students. They allowed—and FUELED—the competition between kids from different houses as if house identity were something worth dying for over a goddamn Quidditch match, creating sides, grudges, and conflicts between kids the same age who could’ve easily been friends if there weren’t such a classist division. The whole school was a pedagogical nightmare. Anyone with the slightest interest in child and youth psychology can tell you the problem at Hogwarts wasn't Snape. The problem at Hogwarts was all the adults who encouraged and promoted detestable behavior.

And all of this was allowed by Dumbledore. He was the highest authority and he didn’t give a damn. A cult is forming under his nose? No problem, kids, let’s marginalize and judge those students as harshly as possible because why intervene in childhood development, right? Why bother with psychology and care? Why put effort into difficult cases if we’ve got students who kiss our ass by default?? Someone’s getting bullied at school? Who is it? Can they be useful to me or not? Oh, okay, then never mind. I have teachers who are absolute nightmares to children, but hey, who cares, right? It’s all fine.

There’s a systemic failure at Hogwarts, and honestly, the older I get, the more convinced I am that if my kid went to that school, I’d spend my life camped out at the gates raising hell and screaming like a lunatic because I genuinely think that place is an absolute horror show. And the worst part is the narrative normalizes it.

part 2 of Gnome Scientist AU, because I had more thoughts

So most people seem to think that Stanley would still pretend to be Ford in-person, and that is definitely on-brand, but please consider:

Stan chokes the first time someone thinks he's Ford and accidentally denies it instead of going along.

He can't exactly live as Stanley though (because Stanley's a wanted criminal in most of the country...also he's dead, Stanley has held the fake funeral at this point, he can't go back), thus forcing him to create a "long lost cousin" that happened to be interested in the sciences and ended up as Ford's research assistant despite not having any proper credentials (nepotism, am i right?)

Here's how it plays out in my head:

???: so, you're the great Stanford Pines?

Stanley: no no, I'm Stan-*realizing he's just fucked up*...iel. Staniel Pines, his...cousin...

Stanley, internally: oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck that's the worst fake name I've come up with so far.

???, oblivious: Wow, the Pines family must really like the name "Stan"

So Stanley Staniel explains that he writes the papers for Ford so that the workaholic scientist can spend more time in the field, thus why no one ever seems to catch him at the shack.

So, not only is Ford going to be known in the scientific community as "the guy who discovered gnomes", he's also basically become a local cryptid, with people gossiping about what he might be studying and claiming to have seen him in different parts of town (really it was just Stan doing some light field research to flesh out some parts of Ford's report).

That being said, there are definitely people that know he's not Ford or "Staniel"

Obviously Shermie and Caryn would recognize Stanley, but they don't know about the portal so they probably just don't bring it up because they think Stan will make himself disappear on purpose if he gets caught. (this is also technically my theory on why they would think he's Ford in canon; like they know its him, he's missing 2 middle fingers, but nobody's willing to risk calling him out on it)

I can also imagine Fiddleford eventually reading one of the papers Stanley got published and try to confront Stan about them...either because

He's angry at Ford for publishing evidence of the supernatural (since at this point he's formed the Society of the Blind Eye and letting everyone know that Gnomes are real is kinda the exact opposite of what his cult's about)

Stanley didn't know who Fiddleford was and wouldn't have been able to properly credit him on any of the published findings. (Don't get me wrong, Fiddleford isn't exactly a gloryhog, but he's definitely dragged Ford out of enough deadly situations that he should at least get some kind of recognition.)

He's a little miffed at how quickly Ford replaced him with a new assistant and just wants to give him a piece of his mind.

Also them meeting would allow Stan to explain the portal incident with someone that could (with a bit of convincing) reasonably help him in speeding up the repair process, so that maybe Ford doesn't have to wait 3 decades to get home.

Akivili froze in the middle of the cabin. THEY slump down, falling on their knees. THEIR body was rocking with sobs.

"They will destroy everything. Take away freedom. And it's all my fault!"

Pom-Pom carefully approached Akivili. THEIR eyes focused on Conductor. THEIR fingers go through Pom-Pom's fur.

"Pom-Pom... It's all my fault. All poor souls tortured by the cult members... People who died from Tyrant's experiments... The upcoming mind control... It's all my fault. I brought it to our homes."

Pom-Pom hugged THEIR arm.

Akivili stayed silent. THEY just looked at Pom-Pom. THEY stand up.

"I need to meet with the others. Maybe we could think about something."

There was supposed to be some hope in THEIR words. If only light of hope reached THEIR eyes.

The pacing in s2 really distracted us all from really inspecting how funny and genuinely fascinating Jinx and Viktor's one and only direct interaction was. I don't mean the snark, I mean Viktor had to have known Jinx fired the rocket, either from gossip in Zaun or being literally in a bunch of Zaunites (and Salo's head).

There's no way that Viktor didn't know practically killed him and irrevocably altered the trajectory of his life. In fact, he's likely gotten all kinds of angles on who Jinx is from everyone in the commune. Viktor really could seen from the periphery if his followers' minds the Jinx's growth from Vander's black sheep to Silco's darling terror. And after seeing all the things she's done, he invites her live at his commune!!!!!!

One thing about me is that if you shun or try to isolate a friend of mine (or just anyone who you’ve dubbed a “fault in the system” or harmful despite evidence to the contrary) after you misjudged them for being a bad or malicious or untrustworthy person, I am going to rabidly support them and be extra fucking loud about it and make sure their voices are heard from every corner and it will literally be my driving force to stay online and alive for years.

So this is a sequel to this post mainly because there was some crucial details in the finale that I missed, but this is specifically going to be focusing on Parrot rather than Evbo, although Evbo is still going to be part of this whole theory. Lets start.

[Transcript Start] Evbo: -My iron sword, so their swords will never break. Thats why I have to get out of here, so that I can prove to people that there is a way out! Obviously, to do that, I need to make it to level 4. But its a bit tough to do that, since theres no way to rank up apparently. Parrot: ...Wait, what do you mean theres no way to rank up? Evbo: Oh yeah! I probably should've mentioned that every time I try to rank up to a golden sword- Woah, getting up close and personal. But..yeah, theres no water at the bottom, I've died-

This exchange to me, at first, read as rather inconspicuous. Other players have killed Evbo before, or straight up hit him. So it didn't particularly click with me that this was something to pay attention to, but it was a bit weird considering how Parrot is first characterized. His whole introduction with Evbo and Tabi, and him talking about the iron sword layer being peaceful, and trying to protect Evbo's immortal identity, being depressed and isolating himself in a mansion.. It seems odd that this would suddenly shift when the situation becomes "Theres no way out" and him almost getting violent here, like every other character in the series. But he shows restraint in his anger rather than lashing out. Good right? Well... Next time we "meet" Parrot the implications are less than ideal. We learn he is a bow, and that he attempted to tell Evbo this, but the message about Tabi's betrayal got through to him too late. Then something else happens. Evbo, post betrayal and probably wanting to let off some of the stress that has most definitely been bubbling under the surface, Kills the entire iron sword layer. Or atleast very heavily implied that he did, along with Parrot's help. In Evbo's words, he "Killed all the people that were against me." which could either mean like, two people or the entire layer, and I don't think Evbo was particularly keeping track of the "bad" iron swords that came into his cell depending on how populated that layer actually is. The way someone would typically twist this, is that Parrot is willing to do terrible things for his friend's safety and comfort. Which is fine, but hear me out. Considering that Parrot got very close to snapping at Evbo back in episode 4, and was pretty absent throughout the arc where Evbo trains until he gets to the diamond sword layer, and then out of nowhere, helps with a murder spree despite him being one of the more peaceful residents? One that doesn't appear to get into fights, nor is seen going into Evbo's cell for kills? Evbo lets something slip near the end right after describing the massacre that he and Parrot did together. Parrot says:

"I will do my best to make a difference in this world."

Now, this sounds good in theory. Great, even! But consider the stuff we learned from him up until this point, the tiny details that you could easily miss or disregard entirely. Now, what does that phrase imply? Especially with the surrounding context being Evbo and Parrot killing a layer together?

What difference does he intend to make in this world? We don't get more than what Evbo tells us in the narration, but he does mention that he isn't willing to see Parrot just yet, and needs to piece his feelings towards him. What went down between these two that went unseen that left Evbo not wanting to talk to him let alone see him? Fishy, fishy, fishy.

I’m not sure if someone’s said this before but I’ve always felt that Regulus could’ve very possibly been groomed as a child (And many other children that joined the death eaters upon adulthood).

Can you imagine Riddle visiting the Black’s when Sirius and Regulus were young to gain support. Can you imagine him targeting not the adults of the house but the children that were going to inherit it in probably less than a decade. Can you imagine little 10 year old Regulus Black, who’s advanced at magic and often quiet in contrast to his older brother who fights back. Imagine how Riddle would see this impressionable but powerful child from one of the greatest pure blood families in the UK and immediately seize that opportunity. Especially after Sirius starts at Hogwarts and Regulus is stuck there scared and alone. Riddle showing up randomly to play with him or take him for ice cream or whatever Regulus wanted. Him pretending to care and listen to Regulus and Regulus finally feeling like someone loves him. Seeing a second preferred father in Riddle.

When Regulus starts school he writes to him sharing everything and Riddle writes back short replies and keeps an eye on him. Regulus and Sirius starting to fight because of their family’s ideals. Riddle starts planting doubt in regulus’ mind about how much Sirius truly loves him, picking James over him etc.

The years go on, Riddle is the one there when Sirius leaves. Regulus beleives every word he says bc he truly thinks he’s the only person to have ever truly cared about him.

Regulus starts getting scared by the war. He doesn’t want to kill people, he knows it’s wrong, but when someone you idolize is constantly putting in your head that this is the right thing and those people are actually hurting you then you start to believe them.

The thing with manipulators tho, is they tend to get paranoid. Regulus starts getting really close with Dorcas Meadows who is a blood traitor. Riddle makes him take the dark mark. Oh his best friend Pandora Rosier leaves her pure blood family to get away from the war. Forces him on his first mission and to physically kill a civilian which Reg has protested against adamantly. His one thing is he didn’t want to have to kill someone. He starts using all these threats on Reg, but he does it slowly enough that he doesn’t notice. Still Reg is beginning to get cautious around him and go behind his back (as teenagers do, he still sees Riddle as this person who loves him so he’s not necessarily afraid but he starts to fight back little by little)

But oh the kicker is when Reg stays friends with Pandora, behind his back. Oh now this time Riddle takes Kreature. And that just happened to be one step too far.

Imagine 17 year old Regulus lending his beloved house elf out to his mentor, his idol, his father figure and expecting for him to treat this person regulus loves more than anything well and send him home safely only to find out how awful that person is. Imagine Regulus sobbing on his bedroom floor because nothing he thought was true in the last 7 years were real. Riddle never cared about him, he was a weapon, a thing to be controlled. Finding out everything he was taught was a lie and wrong and he should’ve just trusted his gut god damn it and left with Dorcas and Pandora. Imagine regulus realizing his brother was right all along and he loved something that would never give him anything real back. Imagine Regulus Black putting all of his hatred and spite into killing the man that had ruined his life. Imagine him signing that letter knowing Riddle was the one who taught him how.

I could say so much more about this situation and how much it hurt him. And now I’m just sad for that poor lil boy. They were children.

Thinking about the Bronev family again, I hope this is coherent-

(Cw non graphic mentions of child death, Azran Legacy spoilers ahead)

Leon Bronev, a man who was likely once a good ordinary man gets kidnapped along with his wife, leaving behind their two young children because he’d found something big about the Azran (did that make it his fault? Did he blame himself?). He loses his wife while there (I’m partial to the headcanon that it wasn’t just a normal sickness) and endures who knows what other hells while stuck in that cult for decades, ending up with nothing left but the Azran.

He turns down darker and darker paths going on some twisted version of a sunk cost fallacy (he’s gone this far already, why not go further?) until he either knowingly or unknowingly orders the murder of his granddaughter and daughter in law. Then he does it, he completes his goal, he solves the last puzzle of the Azran only for all of it to have been for nothing. Then he dies for it, but is revived with the rest and thus being unable to pay with his life. He’s arrested, likely too old at this point to hold out any hope of making amends or fixing what he’s done.

Hershel Bronev, still a young child when his parents are stolen from him and he’s left with caring for his younger brother. Then they get news that he’s going to be adopted alone, that he’d have to leave Theodore behind. Instead of that, he gives up this better life and his name, giving it all to his little brother who he wouldn’t see again for decades. He becomes Desmond Sycamore

He grows up devouring his father’s archeology books, to find a way to get some kind of revenge on the ones who stole his family from him. Instead he finds peace, he finds a new family, people who love him and people he loves the same. But it doesn’t last. Targent comes again to steal his family away, this time with his own Father at the head. Desmond Sycamore dies and he becomes Jean Descole.

But despite now loathing Targent, hating his father, he follows in their footsteps. Threatening loved ones, manipulating people, even attempting to kill a child (Luke was only 10 the first time Descole had tried to kill him), all so he could be the one to uncover the Azran. He becomes like his father in more than just appearance, but does he even realise this?

He’s put on many different faces before, but he pulls Desmond from his grave to use as a mask for what should be his final trick. He meets his brother again, but he’s the only one who knows it. Throughout their journey, he almost finds that peace again, but he knows it won’t last, he won’t be tricked again. He goes forth with his plan, revealing himself attempting to claim the sanctuary for himself.

But then he jumps in front of a laser for Luke, sacrificing himself for the boy he’d attempted to kill on more than one occasion (Maybe Desmond Sycamore still existed somewhere inside him…) On what would be his deathbed, he tells his rival of their connection, of them being blood. Then they leave to confront Bronev, he should have died but he couldn’t, not yet. He drags himself to final chamber, dying and being revived with the rest of them before disappearing, leaving loose ends untied. Now Descole has no reason to exist either. Who is he?

Then There’s Theodore Bronev, but that wasn’t his name anymore. He was given his brothers first name, given his new parents’ last name, he was Hershel Layton, he has been for most of his life.

He endures tragedy after tragedy, not even remembering the first, but he doesn’t let that change him. He loses his best friend (loses the rest of the Stansbury gang), his partner (then a month in a coma) and even when he remembers his lost family, he stays a good man, a true gentleman.

I don’t know how to end this, just wish I could add a section on Rachel but we know so little about her ugh

Honestly it's mainly that he's relatable! I tend to eat up gaynst if done well, and the overall production of how it was done in Cat (and his T2 voice trial, QnA posts) was fun. I also like that the gaynst happening was with an older man but not tied to romance. The overall bait-and-switch of "you thought he was just some random cheater well Guess What he NEVER cheated he only LONGED TO and she fell/killed herself because he was GAY and CAME OUT TO HER." was so fucking funny at the time too. (I can't remember rn if the accident theory was disproven) Cat is also one of my favorite Milgram songs, I had it on repeat for a long time (while I never listened to Half lol). I really hoped the innocent/forgiven verdict would have dialed up the resentful energy in that song (the eating of the dove bit at the end) and made him realize nothing is wrong with him but sigh of course not, it's obvious in the way Yuno is treated that Milgram is written with conservative Japanese sensibilities in mind. I'm not sure what they're going to do with him now, the self-hating energy is frustrating but not surprising. Hoping he doesn't get assigned a ballad. A decent portion of my love of him was also out of spite, since it was incredibly frustrating to see how people talked about him (even in the English fandom). I hope he got to be loved like a cat before he was summoned to Milgram, otherwise #rip. FWIW I would still completely support him if he was straight, then he'd be more of a Sylvain Gautier character lol. It never made sense to me that he was in Milgram (same with Yuno) so it made me feel strongly about him even if he's a flat character overall.

I am aware that could be considered shallow but the premise of Milgram is pretty shallow anyway. There is no way to ethically judge any of the characters without knowing what the final consequences of doing so are, which could be anything as far as we know such as suffering eternally (ex sending them to hell), head exploding (what happens to them in the novelization iirc), or not reincarnating and getting their soul destroyed/sent to the void (plot of the anime Death Parade which I am leaning towards the most as what they'll go for since it's implied everyone is already dead). I mean maybe some people would want that but I don't really think any of the characters deserve those fates since it's absurdly disproportionate... I would elaborate more if it didn't compel me to write thousands of words 😭 my ideal personal outcome was/is everyone getting forgiven
