I'm instinctively a little wary of anyone who's a little too insistent that the artificial aging is 100% above board and basically the same as aliens with different life cycles. I get that the clone wars did not explore the effect growing up at twice the normal rate might have on a human being, so following that canon is fine, but that doesn't change the fact that the clones are humans, not aliens with a naturally shorter lifespan. The accelerated aging was unequivocally a violence done to them. At best it just means they missed out on having a child hood. At best. If anyone wants to explore other effects it could have had, or play with the fucked up worldbuilding that is right there, good for them.

I hate men because today after years of my brother mocking me whenever I talk about something I’m well informed on by saying I did no research I finally told him how much it upsets me. So straight after he brought up my male assault statistics and called them fake before leaving.

ignoring downpour for a second, i have a personal theory (that someone has definitely had before) that the void sea doesn't really let you escape. monk and survivor see the slugcat tree, which a lot of people take to be "oh yeah everyone they know is here and theyre finally home", and hunter returns to the arms of NSH
but ive been thinking about this ever since i first beat monk cause like. monk seems scared in their cutscene, not glad to see everyone or to reunite with survivor like i thought they should be, which always struck me as weird. this is what theyve been chasing the whole time, right? their sibling?
the whole "everyone is here and it's all good" sort of afterlife thing doesn't make sense for rain world imho. it's all a loop, thats the point, and theres no escape. so my suggestion is that what they're seeing is their beginning starting again. more literally, the start of the game, the opening shot of their campaign's cutscene. hunter can also be taken like this, as instead of returning to their creator's arms after reaching the void sea (which doesn't make sense because how would NSH have ascended) theyre going back to when this all started, when NSH first created/modified/purposed them
and monk, as the most spiritually connected of the vanilla slugcats (based on them being called the monk and the fact that they produce karma flowers), is the only one that understands this. theyre struck with the realisation that all of this is for nothing and that it's all leading back to the same thing eventually. maybe centuries, millenia from now, when new civilisations have emerged and been covered in dust and swallowed by the void, but it will happen again. there is no peace. there is no escape from the cycle. it is a perfect circle, unbroken, and this is the closest they'll ever get

Hey if you're a white person (as I am too!) and reading the stuff about End OTW Racism (@end-otw-racism) is making you uncomfortable CONGRATULATIONS THATS THE POINT bipoc have been uncomfortable in fandom for decades and some of yall can't face being uncomfortable for five seconds and still have the gall to have shit like BLM in your descriptions.
Put your money where your mouth is. Be uncomfortable. Actually read what they're talking about and what changes they're proposing instead of jumping right to BuT wHaT aBoUt My DaRk FiC (they want to protect your dark fic and help ensure you're safer from harassment over it!)and ThEy'Re PrO-cEnSoRsHiP (they are explicitly not).
I'm so fucking tired of having my posts and those I reblog on this topic largely ignored on my personal account, but ESPECIALLY I'm furious about how ignored posts on racism in fandom are when I put them on the danmei art sideblogs.
I see racism every single fucking DAY as part of running those accounts. This isn't some nebulous thing happening elsewhere, this is us!
If you don't care, I really need you to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself WHY DONT I CARE?
Because YOU SHOULD FUCKING CARE.

I realized something a while back and wanted to share it here.
So everyone knows the scene where Yahaba attempts to flirt with Yachi. Here it is in the manga incase you forget:
See how that the end of the scene is when Tanaka hands him back his ball? Not in the anime. This is what happens afterwards in the anime, incase you don't remember:
Kyoutani shoves Yahaba to the floor, appearing angered or irritated. This scene is only in the anime, therefore it's an added scene.
I find this added scene so funny because #1 it kind of feels completely unnecessary to have added and #2 it was most likely added to show some form of rivalry between Kyoutani and Yahaba before the wall slam scene, to explain why that happens. If that is the case, I feel like the animators kind of misunderstood the relationship that is supposed to exist between the two of them. At first, Kyoutani is of course disrespectful to everyone, not specifically just Yahaba. Somewhat similarly Yahaba doesn't quite respect Kyoutani because of his rude and brash behavior. Never are you meant to think that they hate eachother or have some form of rivalry, especially one that tends to be violent. After all, they're still supposed to be teammates. After the wall slam incident, Kyoutani begins to form a sense of respect and understanding for Yahaba, and Yahaba begins to respect and understand Kyoutani after he goes back into the game and gives it his all. This added scene, in my opinion, somewhat undermines the mutual disrespect turned mutual respect that is their relationship. Instead, it makes it seem like Kyoutani hates Yahaba and that when he shoves him to the ground it's done out of hatred. Instead, when Yahaba slams him into the wall it seems like an action to get Kyoutani back for shoving him or to prove that he shouldn't be hated because he can be violent too. When very obviously, that's not the case at all. Additionally, this added scene had the opposite affect of making it seem like they're rivals to the fandom, instead creating many memes and ship posts lol.

thinking about @fantasyinvader's recent Dimitri post -
I think one of the points I'm not really fond of with AM and Boarmitri's turn to Savior!Mitri is how Dee shifts his attention from the Means to the Ends.
And sure, we have to think about the bigger scope - criticise to prevent the "Ends" means putting an end to the "Means" - but what about the ones who were sacrificed, or the ones who are and written off as "means"?
Kleiman dude really believed he was doing the right thing by chopping Duscur people (or at least putting them under the bus for something he and his lord did).
Boarmitri reacts to the "slaughtering Duscur people" strongly, and would have killed him because hey, you were slaugthering people down (or are responsible for the persecution Duscur people suffered and are still going through).
Savior!Mitri? Will put his execution on hold, to consider what Kleiman dude meant by "doing the right thing".
But, regardless of why Kleiman Dude thought was "right" or for "justice", the thing is, he still organised the massacre of several people and wrongly framed innocents to hide their involvment, which led to their persecution/massacre.
"But Lambert was removing our rights and privileges" sure, what does this has anything to do with Dedue having lost his sister to senseless murder after being wrongfuly framed for regicide?
"Kleiman Dude really believed what he was doing was right" and ? Tell that to Felix's mom, what's going to happen? People do things for all kinds of reasons, so what?
-
Worst offender is, of course, Supreme Leader.
Boarmitri wants to cut her down to avenge the dead (and maybe stop the war?) but when Savior!Mitri finally hears her, uh, reasoning, he is resolved to kill her because that's her choice (uh) and it's their fate???
The fuck?
Sure he mentions putting an end to the war, but the entire "we have no other choice but to fight, because it's what she wants and that's the destiny we were born to", please no?
Hopefully the first sentence "end the war" exists, otherwise I'd really believe Dee makes this fight and final battle all about Supreme Leader (and blame fate because that's hresvelg grey for you) and completely ignores the people who are, uh, living in this Fodlan ravaged by war, the ones who died because of it or are still dying because that's what war does.
What about the ones who died? The ones who are dying (or are locked in a 5 stars resort doing zumba for 5 years) ? The ones who are turned in demonic beasts? The ones who are starving?
"We have no choice but to destroy each other... Such is the destiny we were born to."
who cares about casualties, let's agree to disagree about our Ends and blame fate instead.
:/

I’m new to this fandom and was hoping you could provide some insight. How come people seem to really dislike Rob ? What are your thoughts on him?
We need a welcome packet to the Fandom at this point, honestly.
I'm not gonna go through the exhaustive list of things you could call Rob McElhenney out for, but I will give you some insight on the fandom relationship with Rob.
Rob was always the more "humble" of RCG, having actually come from Philly, growing up in the lower class, no college education, basically completely scraping by to become an actor and create Sunny.. well, you know that story. Up until very recently, Rob has always seemed to hold to his values in the core idea of Sunny, that creatives should have control of their work, that the best stuff comes from the people who have the ideas and create it.
Since meeting and going into business with Ryan Reynolds, he's kind of done a complete 180 in that regard. Buying into NFTs and Crypto, believing A.I. has a place in writing for television and we should be using it.. (you can look into his company Adim for more on that) and straight-up admitting he wants to be in the "Ownership business," and is moving away from the creative side of his endeavors. Every other thing out of Rob's mouth nowadays is to build this new image of "Ryan Reynolds magnitude": that he's a businessman, that he should be seen as Hollywood elite, that he wants to be worth billions...as opposed to, you know, a guy that has cool ideas and makes really cool things...
So the Fandom watched Rob go from a humble, "doing it for the love of it" guy to "owning as much as possible and exploiting new technology to get there" business man, and that's rough, and gross, and sucks (and backseats Sunny.. a lot). On top of that there's the history Rob has, especially with Sunny, satirising/commentating on certain subjects poorly and doubling down on having done it, and him having the political views of what I'd call an "Obama Democrat," (take a walk through his older Instagram posts and off-handed remarks on TASP)... It's enough to kind of pick your poison or pile on and actively dislike/hate Rob as a person.
My personal thoughts are.. complicated. I don't "stan" Rob (or any real person for that matter), I love the show, and I will continue to see and value what Rob has to say about it because it's his show. He's the creator of my favourite thing in the entire world, and he still does put a lot into that thing, and you can't shake that Sunny is not Sunny in any way shape or form without him. On top of that, I have met him and I can't understate how genuine he was to meet and talk to, and how kind he was to me holds a lot of weight in my opinion of him (unfortunately? lol?). So I can't say I dislike him, but I can say I continue to be disappointed by his recent endeavours, and I hope he snaps out of it (though I don't think he will).
I don't blame people who dislike him or even hate him, I don't think there's any expectation for a fan of Sunny to like RCG (whether they never talk about them or openly talk shit about them), and I don't think there's a reason for fans to argue over liking/disliking them as people. They're all white, cishet (presenting) middle-aged guys in Hollywood who live in million dollar houses, there's no brownie points for defending them and there's no morality awards being handed out for calling them out. Feel how you want, Sunny's the focus here
