Inspired by the run of poetry being written by my lovely @disasterbuck, I decided to try my hand at some verse for the first time in years.

✴THE BUDDIE WEDDING✴

Part 1 - The Proposal + The Rings

Eddie's Ring Buck's Ring

Buck proposes to Eddie on a normal Friday after one their Diaz family movie nights. Buck had gotten Eddie's ring from Ramon, it was his grandfather's, a month prior and was just waiting for the right moment to pop the question.

If only Eddie wasn't the hardest person to propose to. Buck suggested a fancy dinner date. Eddie said, "Let's stay in tonight." Buck set up a cute picnic. Eddie ran into one of his basketball friends and just had to catch up. If Buck didn't love him so much he might have found this annoying.

Finally, Buck just says screw it. There's no manufacturing the "perfect" moment. What better time than the present? And while sitting in his favorite spot in the world: Eddie Diaz's couch.

On the inside of the ring there's an inscription that says "I am your mirror" from the poem When I am with you by Rumi.

Excerpt from When I am with you by Rumi: "Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along. We are the mirror as well the face in it. --- You would rather throw stones at a mirror? I am your mirror, and here are the stones."

I feel like this poem perfectly encapsulates Buck and Eddie's relationship. When you hurt, I hurt. When you're happy, I'm happy. They are each other's support systems 100%.
