yes i yap a lot about cancers but what do u expect im literally a cancer rising and i hate that everyone gets us wrong as fuck 😕

ANYWAY ok so i saw a tiktok last night that was the rising signs and their appearance and Ofc they said cancers often have very soft, rounded features "like the full moon" and generally have very prominent chests and my spindly ass is watching that shit like No.

SO what do cancer placements actually look like!!! Bc i actually went thru the comments and saw a lot of cancer risings not relating and im like OK so it's not just me-

first off, i see ppl saying cancer risings look different compared to cancer suns or other placements and i have never noticed this myself. im not entirely sure why a rising placement would look different from a sun placement but what do i know i could just be an idiot-

ANYWAY-

in my experience, both personal and observational, cancers tend to be very lanky and spindly people-

they might have Slightly softer facial features but not without definition.

being their sister sign, ive noticed heavy capricorn placements tend to have jawlines of the gods, and so do cancers usually, just in a slightly different way.

capricorn bone structures generally look very <. Like very sharp and strong as if they have like no tissue on top of their bones and it's just skull and skin kinda- Cancer bone structures look very???? Not ) but like if < was a just Slightly more rounded- they have more muscle definition in their faces rather than bone definition if that makes sense.

^ to help u understand what im yapping abt, im bringing local 99% capricorn man awsten knight (lead singer of the band waterparks) to the table.

this motherfucker is so capricorn it's not even funny- he's got not 1, not 2 but SIX capricorn placements in his fucking chart- sun, mercury, mars, uranus, neptune and north node-

and unfortunately no face reveal yet but u gotta trust me when i say i look just fucking like him and i have 0 capricorn placements and like 0.5 earth placements in general.

i look like awsten if he was like a twinge more rounded like a TWINGE- i got the same sharpness right it's just like?? HAHAHAH it's like sharp corners of wood sanded down that's the difference- like sanded just enough so they're a little more rounded out but they're still pretty sharp edges u know what im saying-

and i have another topic abt cancers brewing in my head rn that ill have to write abt in a separate post but i dont think cancers are actually the crab i think they're the spiders- ill put an arachnophobia warning on that post bc ill probably put multiple spider images But i say that for several reasons-

one such being that most spiders are Very Spindly!!!!! they're 90% limbs!!! and the cancer placements that i know are Usually also 90% limbs, there being some exceptions ofc as always-

me personally ive always been extremely tall and lanky, i am indeed 99% limbs and for a while until i gained more muscle, looked malnourished 💔 (someone accused me of having anorexia at one point, that's a story for another day tho- i do actually have an eating disorder but not anorexia)

this could also be because im extremely mercury dominant but ive seen people say that mercurians are Short which makes absolutely NO sense to me at all- ill do a post on that at some point 💔💔

but i also consider cancers to be neptune ruled instead of moon ruled, and to me, neptunians would be very spindly.

all this to say that in my experience, cancers are not rounded or large chested, they tend to be very lanky, small-chested actually, potentially tall, and have very defined eyes for some reason or another-

in my case i have the most dark purple bags under my eyes you will ever see in your entire life (i got a sleep disorder that makes me legitimately nocturnal 🙏😔), and you can see like every emotion im experiencing in my eyes very easily IF u know me well enough (which my mom is the only one who can genuinely see everything)

i also have a REAL bad case of resting bitch face AND crazy eyes, which the crazy eyes i think are boosted by my mars conjunct asc and my uranus trine asc 🙏🙏🙏

one thing the tiktok said though that did make sense a little was "cancers are usually the spitting image of their mother, like copy + paste"

i dont think it's just the mother i think it's whichever parent you're closest to, but i Am a direct copy paste of my mom in both appearance and everything else tbh- and she's a cap rising + aries sun/mercury/venus- and we both have mars in cancer, but that's her only cancer placement so 🤔

he's a cutthroat ( capricorn sun ) onion-layered dude ( cancer moon ) that is a lot more than meets the eye ( scorpio rising )

the way the story goes, his father left his previous wife and kid when his mother was pregnant with him out of wedlock! his mother's ability to secure that ring at all cost saves seunghan from a life as the bastard son and he's forever indebted to his mother for it

the way his mother tells the story, she did it all so that she could give him a better life! loves his mother to bits because she always has his best interest in heart 💞 ok jokes up the real tea is that seunghan is so deeply under his mother's hold and is so blinded that he doesn't realise she's using him as a tool to guarantee her primary goal in life: to get rich and stay rich

it's a recurring theme in his bio, but whenever seunghan starts gaining personhood ( no he doesn't want to go to night school when he's still 7. yes he wants to be a professional swimmer because he loves to swim ) his mom pulls out some plot twist and/or guilt trips him back into remaining firmly under her control and in the end, he always concedes that he's in the wrong or hasn't been mindful of his poor 'bad good mother' and relinquishes said personhood

she pushes him very hard to be a stellar well-rounded student and the most obvious thing she uses to motivate him is the threat of his older half-brother gaining his father's love again and him and his mom being thrown out on the streets basically! of course, being robbed of his personhood + being threatened to lose everything he ever loved is the same energy as pinning all the world's debt onto one guy and killing him if that gives you a glimpse of the ungodly levels of raw, unadulterated hate he holds for his brother

but moving on because no one asked! all the hard work paid off and he eventually got into snu post-military service and became vice capt of the swim team thanks to his reputation and talent in that realm, also got scouted for the club!? tbh bro already knew about the club because his mother is basically obsessed with his older half-brother and wants seunghan to one up him in literally every aspect of life, so when she heard he was in the club naturally she told seunghan that if his older half-brother makes it in and he doesn't they might as well pack up for the streets

which means that seunghan took his initiate days very seriously! very girl you're killing it! girl it's not moving anymore! girl you can stop biting! type vibe so i'm sure some of the initiates thought he was weird but his introverted ass doesn't care and was happy to be amongst the like-minded people like his trio

then of course hyungseo dies 😩 honestly seunghan was really close to hyungseo and held a deep respect and care for the kid, so when he died, something died in seunghan that day too... genuinely has some significant survivor's guilt and he became a lot more brooding / less playful! also quit swimming which was his one release and frankly lost the motivation to continue with the club but his body was basically dragged through the rest of the year by his mom, so!

nothing overly exciting since, bro just stopped living and entered full 'tool' mode, mother asks him to jump and he'll say how high! once he graduated, he got into a pretty solid position in his father's company for an entry level ( thank you nepotism ) and fast tracked his way up! also picked up a part-time mba last year!

despite his father being relatively absent in his life, seunghan was again pretty gutted when he learnt of his father's diagnosis, but the pressure of what's to come ( i.e. the battle for inheritance which he's essentially been gearing up for his entire life and the reason why his mom he pushed himself as hard as she did was for this exact moment ) kind of took his mind off his father's diagnosis! but really this entire process as thrown him back to his days as an initiate which was one of the most brutal moments of his life ( also why does someone always have to be dying??? )

got promoted to director of corporate strategy after his mother tries to curry favour with his dad but yeah! now he's here! emotionally constipated and severely overworked, but he's here!

this might be long to you but this is one of the only intros where i tried really hard to be concise and wildly enough it is shorter than most so ! give me my cookie! anyway rah rah rah stop yapping onto the plots!

honestly i feel like a lot of the plots i want are pretty canon dependent but i would definitely love to explore 2019 more! what happened when they were chessmasters? maybe a friends turned to enemies plotline because you guys got a little too competitive and neither wanted to budge

i also feel like seunghan definitely could have dated one of the chessmasters sometime between 2017-2019! maybe just based on being club members, they fooled around then things got more serious but seunghan's mom is very present in his life and dating a mama's boy is fr diabolical work so things ended naturally or maybe even having seunghan's competitiveness and ruthlessness in 2019 becoming the last straw?

less related to the club and more related to just uni life but i'd love for someone to be on pretty alright terms with seunghan, probably you could respect his drive and competitiveness and even found it funny because you weren't really at the receiving end, but then maybe you're doing the same degree or signed up for the same role in the same club and shit went haywire? or even the opposite where you didn't really know each other in the club but steered clear of each other, but after being forced to work together somehow you realised that he's not a bad dude? like he's got a couple of layers to him that aren't too bad once you peel them away! bro can smile? who woulda thunk it!

or maybe you were part of the same friend group but you didn't vibe with him particularly not that you ever said it aloud? could even date back to high school and maybe you're annoyed that bro is in the club now even though most saw it coming! would also be fun if there's some secret sabotage going on!

seunghan's the type that keeps like 1-2 friends and everyone else is considered networking but i'd love for him to have a few friends he can actually drop his shoulders and relax around! seunghan might look very prickly and unapproachable at first glance, but he's actually a really loyal friend if you peel him back a little!

he hasn't kept in contact with many people other than his 1-2 friends since graduating but maybe! you're someone he can't shake for whatever reason? either through work relations or even because of something else entirely!

also if you ever disliked hyungseo and were kind of callous with his death best believe seunghan would have treated you like public enemy no 1 so anyone whose muse is of this sentiment please hmu

sneakily sliding in the fwb here but i feel like seunghan would have had some throughout his entire time in the club! maybe things cooled after graduation but now that you're all tied together by hyungseo in 2024, memories of the good ol days have got you kicking things back up!

This whole civil war on reading vs not reading comics is baffling to me. Like honestly this whole arguement is stupid.

Full disclosure before people come after me: I am a comic reader! I love reading comics (although I havent been able to read nearly as many as I would like)

Anyway yeah my whole 2 cents on this.

On one hand, I get why avid comic readers are annoyed. You're favorite character being what you perceive as wildly misinterpreted and being unable to find the content you want is annoying. But also it's so easy to just... click off? Like no one is forcing you to read it, just go find a different work instead of complaing to the author or whatever.

Also, comic characters have been written and rewritten by so many people and have had so many changes to their storylines and personality that a lot of stuff being argued as "not canon" very likely could have been at some point! And that's not even talking about other media like shows and movies.

The first example that comes to mind is Superboy (Conner "Kon" Kent). Comic Kon and Young Justice Cartoon Kon are drastically different in both personality and appearance. Comic Kon is the most bisexual coded person I've ever seen and Cartoon Kon is a grumpy asshole who looks like he stepped straight out of bootcamp. But guess what? Regardless of which one you like most both are canon in DC!

As far as I'm concerned, comic timelines and characters are a mess with or without other media types and we should be allowed to pick and choose whatever traits we want from it. Do I want Kon to have bisexual hair? Yes! Am I ignoring that Batman beats his kids in some runs? Also yes!

And because I saw a few complaints like these once before I'm going to address them.

"Character A can't be into this. It only happened like 1 time in the comics!"

Yeah but it happened. If people want to take that little hint of a trait and expand on it then power to them!

"Character A never actually had this role or did this so stop writing them like that!"

It's called a headcanon or an AU. This may be surprising to you, but both of these are common in fandom spaces. If that headcanon or AU is popular it's because people obviously like it. That person may not be you, and that's fine too! Just let them have their fun and leave to read something else.

And I'm not claiming to be innocent in all this btw! Lord knows I get loud and angry about many MCU fans' interpretation of Jake Lockley from Moon Knight. That being said, the reason I'm loud and angry isn't just "oh they made him less friendly and changed some personality traits". Its the fact that they interpret him as an "evil" alter which perpetuates hateful stereotypes about a very real and very stigmatized disorder with very little decent representation. The whole "Jake is an evil bloodthirsty alter" spreads those fearmongering ideas and has the potential to harm actual systems in the long run whether it's intended to or not. Disclaimer: I am not a system, but I do try my best to listen to what they have to say. By all means listen to their opinions on the situation over mine.

Even so, I don't go and yell directly at those creators. I click off. I don't have to read or look at their stuff if I don't want to.

Another complaint from comic readers I see a lot is "oh but it's so easy for them to just pick up a comic and read it! They are just being lazy/stubborn/etc." And honestly...

It's really not!

It took me YEARS to start reading comics because it was so overwhelming and I had no one to help me. Keeping track of all the comic runs is hard enough let alone actually finding and reading them. Comics are simply not well organized and it's hard to find a part to jump into when so many of them rely on prior knowledge.

"Well ask somebody who works at a comic bookstore!"

I did. He had no answers for me and looked like he would rather be talking to literally anyone else instead of a clueless 15 year old girl. Stepping into spaces like that can be intimidating in itself for a variety of reasons, let alone trying to ask for help. Online it's not always much better. So many people won't give an honest recommendation and others won't be specific enough. Many comic runs have similar titles, and honestly it's best if you just know the name of the writer.

Trying to break into comics is just genuinely difficult for a lot of people depending on their situations whether it be enviornmental, financial, or mental.

Also you can't just force someone to read the comics! If they don't want to and just want to watch the shows or absorb fanon content then that's their preference! You don't have to interact with it! Am I saying that no one should read comics? No! But I am saying that not everyone has the same accessibility and the way some comic readers treat these people isn't doing favors. Attacking them over stuff and getting annoyed at them isn't going to encourage them to pick up a comic and read it but rather push them away from something really fun.

Okay now that's out of the way, time for me to turn my sights on the "not reading" camp.

You can't just attack people for suggesting canonical content under your prompts. Unless they are being a dick about it. Then you can go ham. But if someone is coming in like "hey btw A is a thing that happens canonically and it might be fun to do!" then there is no reason for you to act like they just ate your baby!

It is also not completely unreasonable for someone to simply suggest that you try out a comic or two (provided that they are being polite and are actually willing to help you with clear reccomendations). There is no reason for you to get pissy at them, just as it is not a requirement for you to take up their advice. If you don't want to read it or can't currently that's fine, but just know that you have the potential to be introduced to something you really enjoy and that consuming canon content will more than likely help you with your writing!

She Hulk 1.9 Finale!

Wow. Jen didn’t just smash the fourth wall. She Thanos snapped it into dust. And it seems like so many people don’t get that. Reading comments here on Tumblr seems like some people just wanted the same old MCU formula. But the writers know their source material. And She Hulk challenged her writers in the comics all the time when she didn’t like how her story was playing out. Why wouldn’t her show do the same thing?

So when all these separate storylines converge in the finale Jen says “wait a minute! Time out! This doesn’t make sense!” She breaks the inhibitor she’s been forced to wear, Hulks out and literally climbs out of the Marvel Disney + page and uses the Marvel Assembled show to come into our reality!

She first tracks down the writers in the writers room and confront them. I wonder if they were the real writers? Anywho when they tell her to take it up with Kevin, (and after a little fight scene in the halls of Marvel Studios with a series of guards) Jen finds out they really mean KEVIN. An AI that controls the entire MCU. I knew Feige was a robot! Lol 😂 they even gave him a ball cap…BTW while he’s not a villain KEVIN is still a surprise and the one behind the whole thing.

Jen argues her case to changing her ending. Because it is her story. Why should Todd get his villain moment to shine as a Hulk with a standard MCU fight scene? Jen wants to beat him in court. and according to the end credits she wins. Yeah he’s not even worth a scene in court. Just a title card scene in the end credits.

Why should Bruce come in to fight Emil? It’s Jen story and Emil is just guilty of not doing a background check on the dudes that hire him for a speaking gig. Still violated his parole and I’m not sure how I feel about him skipping prison and seeking sanctuary with the Sorcerer Supreme. Wong!

And yes she wants to see Matt again and get her job back. So often we watch superhero movies where the hero just suffers for what? Jen literally points that out. This entire fourth wall break is the MCU telling fans, “we know we’ve been following a formula. This is the beginning of how we are going to shake up that formula.” And I love that. That’s what the entire Multiverse Saga is building up to. And I love how it started with a character that I was not familiar with but now I love.

Deadpool the ball is in your court. I don’t know how you’re going to top this. Oh and Jen! Jen, can you give Moon Knight my number? Love you girl. 💚

with the use of his real full name (which allows anyone, fey or mortal to control the name bearer, the reason fey don’t give their full names or real names) she proceeds to have him do horrible horrible things like a big sad meat puppet. both carrying out her ‘justice’ or retaining her honor, or just for her amusement and whims. 

this guy has killed or tortured… so many fey against his will. he gained a rep for being unpredictable (“as likely to kill you as to spare you”) to non-gentry fey because internally he was always trying to look for loopholes in the wording of the direct orders nicnevin might give him, so he could be gentler than he was ordered to be. or at least try to be more merciful and end someone’s life more quickly, rather than allow them to suffer.

(nicnevin loved this btw. it’s her Thing that she enjoys watching him attempt to be defiant and unhappily do her bidding against his will. she’s kind of a freak too tbh she liked debasing and humiliating him any way she could) 

this continued for a few months until roiben was attacked by who he thought was seelie aligned fey in unseelie territory (new jersey), and kaye, who he Thought was a human girl who happened to have The Sight (ability to see the fey and through their enchantments and glamors), happened upon him in the woods and pulled out an arrow from his chest that was bespelled in such a way that he couldn’t pull it out himself. 

in the course of all that, she gets his full real name from him as part of the ‘three questions’ he awarded her for saving him. 

lots of stuff happens for kaye here, but for roiben he goes back to court and nicnevin is like ‘aha i heard there’s a cute lil mortal girl who helped you… what a shame if something happened to her :) actually :) go get her for the Tithe she’d be a good sacrifice :) :)’ 

(The Tithe is an every-seven-years “willing” mortal sacrifice by the unseelie court, the court does the sacrifice and the non-gentry unaffiliated fey within the court’s boundaries pledge themselves to the court for seven more years. the seelie court has one of these too but it involves less blood and murder.) 

kaye is brought to the court for the tithe! she’s under the impression this is an elaborate ruse (and it is but also She Got Lied To About Who The Ruse Was Ruse-ing) and she’s not actually going to die but surprise they actually mean to kill her! oops! 

she uses his full name to order him to get her out of there after he basically begged her to and roiben essentially raw killing machine’s their way outta there, it’s Brutal, he kills nicnevin to kick it all off 

oops kaye is actually one of the fey! roiben does some Assuming that she knew she was fey and a changeling this entire time (she did not, she found out LIKE FOUR DAYS AGO) and he’s all hurt and huffy about that

roiben has to hide out at kaye’s mortal grandma’s house and they find out that the tithe not going through has Consequences (mortals getting fucking Eaten or dancing to death because there’s no one to make the solitary fey…. Not play with humans too much) 

they go back down into the unseelie court after kaye’s friend dies by kelpie drowning to get things back in order (kaye’s other mortal friend is still stuck down there being enchanted and dommed by nephamael, who took over when nicnevin died) 

in true gay villain fashion, nephamael is like ‘ahahehehe i hoped you’d come back’ and reveals that he heard kaye use roiben’s name but he sucks at giving orders in the Just Correctly Worded Way nicnevin had and kaye gets away 

iron and most metals in general are poison to fey, she pries the lil shoe tacks out of her doc martins (resourceful queen) and sleight of hand drops them into his wine. nephamael is Dead as shit but here comes the seelie court “just in time” to take over. 

instead, roiben is very over all of this bullshit and feels like silarial used him as much as nicnevin did so he’s like “actually i’ll be in charge. solitary fey what’s up pledge to me instead and you can do all the mortal eating you want forever from sundown to sun up on samhain”

roiben and kaye smooching here. he loves her, she literally gave him his life back and he’s just Some Guy to her, not Unseelie King or A Knight and he’s all about that. who knew that the courtly feudal system might be something one might want to find love outside of! WHO KNEW! 

okay so they have to wait to coronate him officially until the winter solstice, and of course, silarial doesn’t want that because she had plans to rule both courts that got ruined by the other stuff, she’s like ‘aw baby just come back home i know you miss me, kisses :(‘ 

also his sister is mad at him for not just coming back to the seelie court :( 

he’s falling deeper into the ‘fuck i have to become this harsher person to rule this court but has this cruelty been inside me this whole time… am i a terrible person….is there even a home for me to go home to anymore because i’m Ruined and twisted now’ you know. ptsd and trauma shit. 

after his coronation, some asshole fey manipulates kaye into trying to formally declare herself to roiben, which he did NOT want her to do because it puts her in more danger. 

he’s a Moron so instead of explaining this he sends her on an impossible quest that she must complete before being accepted, which is to find a fey who lies. which… they physically can’t. 

kaye is off Doing Shit and roiben and silarial come to some sort of agreement- instead of fighting a full-out war with lots of casualties, they’ll just have a straightforward 1V1 duel. he beats the champion she chooses, she’ll let it go and they can have seven years of peace, and roiben’s sister on the seelie throne. 

during this lil meeting at the seelie court roiben spots kaye glamoured among the queen’s attendants (she’s doing something let her be she’s valid) and is like What The Fuck 

silarial is like USE HIS REAL NAME KAYE AND MAKE HIM DO WHAT I WANT and kaye’s a clever girl and uses a Fake name but it only buys them time to get the fuck outta there. or like, for kaye to get out of there with roiben’s sister as a hostage. listen, she’s got good reasons to be kinda pissy with roiben right now

stuff sure is Happening with kaye but roiben shows up for the duel on hart’s island (real place!) knowing none of that and she completes her quest (SHE is the fey who can lie) so she can tell roiben the Deets, namely that silarial is going to name roiben’s sister as her champion, so roiben won’t duel her and silarial will win 

instead he still duels her, but instead of killing her upon winning he’s like ‘since you’d die and you were supposed to get the crown, who do you name as your successor?’ 

silarial’s like UH THAT’S NOT HOW THAT WORKS and roiben’s like i mean. we agreed if i won she’d get the crown but if she dies then… she has to name someone… 

silarial is like okay fuck this duel the seelie court’s fighters would win in an actual war anyway and roiben is like i was hoping you’d say that! :) i brought all the exiled fey from nyc with me! :) interesting! :) 

then she’s like FINE I’M GONNA KILL YOUR STUPID LITTLE GIRLFRIEND and roiben’s sister is like actually. i’m done with every aspect of this bullshit. and kills silarial herself with her dueling sword. 

she gives roiben the seelie crown, like ‘take this I Guess, i kinda hate your ass now for making all of this come to pass when you could have just come home and everything would be normal’ 

so now he’s playing a balancing act of ruling both courts, which together become the termite court. it’s a pain in the ass but he’s not too bad at it, even if he kinda has a distaste for the courtier style of wheeling and dealing that being fey royalty and dealing with the royalty of other fey courts tends to entail. 

he’s a stand-up guy though, and when you give him good reason to trust you at your word he’s got your fucking back. 

OKAY NOW THE RELEVANT TO CURRENT STORY STUFF- storybrooke has been this weird twilight zone ass repellant spot to the fey for a hot second, since they could Feel something happening there but obviously couldn’t get in. and the longer storybrooke was around, the longer fey lands got kinda… weird-funky where they were close together. which is saying something because being on “fey lands” already makes time and weather super funky strange. 

now that storybrooke’s curse is broken and people can enter the town, they’ve decided to check this out and see just what this strange interference is.

Hey Liv, I’m in a bit of a moral dilemma.

So I know that in the Drarry fandom, it’s mostly canon that Harry is brown as opposed to the white character that JKR made him out to be. But for some reason my brain refuses to accept that.

And that is absolutely not because I’m racist since I’m an Indian residing in India right now, and I’m very happy with my skin colour. (And trust me I’m not saying this to prove the fact that I’m not racist, I promise I am an Indian and am brown myself)

I’m not quite sure how to explain it but it’s basically something related to me reading Harry Potter when I was a kid and NEVER once being able to relate to anything. Because as weird as it is, having someone of your own ethnicity in a major book series as an important character (not ones with very exaggerated names like Parvathi and Padma or Cho Chang who were so obviously just put in for diversity; and before I offend anyone, I know that these names do exist but also if a white woman in that time were to look up Indian or Asian names with minimal effort, these would be the ones she found first. However all the Parvathis and Padmas I know in India are at least 60+ years old which doesn’t fit in well the HPs time frame.)

Books that were super popular in India, such as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, Divergent, TMI among many others barely ever had any Indian characters of significance and I assure you, every time someone of the same ethnicity as me was even mentioned, I’d be over the moon.

But Harry Potter was white as JKR made him to be. I loved him all the same but that personal touch that an Indian ethnicity would give the character was missing for me. I mean his name too, Harry Potter, is one of the lesser used names in India. I’ve never heard of a Harry that isn’t Harrypreet , Harbajan, Harshit etc. So in my pea sized brain Harry was always (and not to focus so much on the skin colour or race but here we are) white. And accepting anything except for that fact is very hard for me because if Harry was originally brown, the connection I’d have had with the character would be something else. Now though when it’s almost widely accept that Harry is some shade of brown, I’m so torn because it just doesn’t coincide with the view I have of him.

And the thing is, it’s not just me. A lot of my friends here who I’ve spoken to about this agree that it’s very hard for them to accept Harry as Indian specifically. Black, hell yes. Latino, sign me up. Asian even, go for it. But Indian, I’m not sure about that.

Just as an additional note, I’ve literally died with happiness just seeing Indian representation in books. Like when I read first about Parvathi Patil, I screamed to my friend who introduced me to the books about how amazing it was that Harry took her to the Yule ball (basically Indians getting some kind of privilege in a predominantly white setting). And as stupid and juvenile as this is (not even sure how many people know about this) but in the series Geronimo Stilton, Thea Stilton and the Ice Treasure, there was a mouse named Ashvin referenced who was crushed on by a lot of people and just seeing that an Indian was the source of everyone’s attraction was enough to make me land on the seventh heaven.

So my point I think is, I’m not sure exactly why but I’m not able to accept Harry as Indian specifically (I realised this when I read The Devils White Knight which btw is an incredible book) and I don’t know what to do about it.

Hi anon, I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling like this. I can see how this sense of disconnection affects the way you interact with both canon and fic, and as a white (Latin, but still white) woman I’m not sure I can provide the advice and guidance you’re looking for.

My two cents about this would be the gentle reminder that “representation matters” and “I appreciate that this headcanon exists but it doesn’t really work for me” are two ideas that can coexist. You’re not (or shouldn’t be) obligated to adopt headcanons any more than I, a white woman, am. Anyone who requires that based on your origin or skin color is being cruel and completely missing the point imho.

Now, I do think that those who are interested in exploring these headcanons could put in the effort to make it realistic, respectful and truly representative, but I will never expect creators to write/draw Harry the exact same way, just as I’ll never force myself to read something I’m not personally into as a way to convince myself that I’m doing the ~right~ thing. This is not how I see fandom at all, I’m not here to perform but to have fun during my free time. Again, I LOVE that fandom has become so much more representative and is spreading awareness over topics that canon never really cared about, but not everything will work out for everyone and that’s okay as long as we all remain kind and supportive among ourselves. This is why I’m here, but that’s me.

Sorry, I probably wasn’t helpful at all but unfortunately I don’t think I’m in a position to offer any insights on this matter. Maybe my followers can help with better advice! Take care.

fic idea:

Imagine oc being able to see ghost and spirits (more specifically yokai and anything close to the sort) since childhood. Terrifying really.

Demon paralysis be damned when you open your eyes to see a literal shadow figure staring down at you. Panic attack ensue.

Oh yeah, did she mention the voice in her head guiding her on what to do with these spirits and how to handle them, yeah that's a thing too...

Apparently they're the goddess Izanami, overseer of the underworld Yomi. Fantastic.

She also mentions how more spirits are running amok and unchecked bc APPARENTLY THANOS' SNAP HAD FUCKED THE BALANCE OF LIFE AND DEATH. So I guess those that disappeared weren't actually dead but literally just ceased to exist and it threw Yomi is a disarray of chaos.

Basically the goddess was pissed. So now oc is their unwilling paranormal detective, being forced to faces these horrendous spirits so they can pass on. Fucking fantastic.

Also the Blip actually made it worse too. Great.

Apparently there's some consequences of being forced to help these spirits

They're not limited to out of body experience while taking the train home, usually with oc being in the place of the memory of the spirits that were either before or lead to their deaths. Awesome. More nightmare fuel for her ig.

While this happens to her mentally, physically her body will either be unconscious, spaced out, or even moving on its own unconsciously.

When she sleeps they become vivid nightmares she can't remember usually, only the terror she felt. Sometimes she'll find bruises and scratches on her and remember only bits of what happened. Night terrors. Check. Bodily harm. Check.

Works in the museum both Dane and Sersi works at too bc I can and pls Jeremy add some Dane/Steven/Marc interactions for season 2 pls I'm on my knees

It was hours later, she assumed that he thought she stood him up and left.

She ate the steak anyways. She was hungry.

She didn't dare to call or text him, afraid of what he'll say, so color her surprise when he called her instead.

What??? They have a date??? But it's Sunday. Confused, she decide to tell him that she thought he thought she stood him up. Both are confused. They decided to reschedule the date then, both hoping that this one goes well (tbh both were ecstatic that the other was giving them another chance).

Ofc that doesn't happen bc Harrow and his cult with Ammit ensue hijinks.

So Marc and her are complicated bc they used to be friends as kids but then her family moved to NY. They kept contract and talk but it became very minimal. Like simple how are you type shit. So they have no idea what the other looks like over the years.

So Marc is in for a big twist when he finds out Steven's date is her. It doesn't help he had a tiny itsy bit of a crush on her as kids.

But he doesn't have feelings for her he loves Layla still, right? It's probs bc of the fond memories he held of her as a child that makes him soft for her. No not bc she's kinda of a cute goof.

They're grump and sunshine embodied really.

Also embodies slow burn and friends to lovers trope real hard. Marc's gotta to learn to move on and live a happy life. It's hard but he'll get there.

He is emotionally constipated and will deny any possible thought of him having feelings for oc or any form of happiness.

Oc does not approve and annoys him with affection.

They're divorced. They'll try to work it out but really Layla realizes that she fell out of love for a while now. The lies and guilt put a strain on their marriage.

That doesn't mean she doesn't care for Marc. She does. As friends.

She won't admit it but deep down, she thinks Marc was conflicted about his feelings whether he knew it or not (whether it was his guilt about her father or not, no one truly knowz). So seeing how he gets along with oc is good for him.

Layla slowly pushed him towards her bc she wants Marc to be happy as well and move on.

Layla is a good friend and wants everyone's best interests.

Now onto Jake.

Keeping in mind of the hc that it's Jake that asked oc out on a date on Steven's behalf. Well then things are gonna be messy. Bc haha they've met before. Like way before Marc met Khonshu and became his fist of vengence.

They met when she was in college and hit it off from there. I don't want to give away too much of their relationship but long story short. Jake does break contact with her.

So when everyone finds out about Jake things get awkward real fast and real bad.

Small hint of their relationship is ???? To lovers trope.

Khonshu is a manipulative bird brain and Izanami commit Khonshu hate crimes on the reg as she should.

Kinda gives off Scaramouche vibes from Genshin Impact but not as arrogant you know. She's not very well liked within the Japanese pantheon due to her role and also from her ex-husband's influences.

She really does care for oc. Thinks of her as her kin. She was a mother once too.

Speaking of her ex-husband, also commits hate crimes against her ex-husband Izanagi too (iykyk) and tbh go off queen.

Only oc sees her and she takes an appearance of a normal woman but dresses expensively. Thinking of Manwol from Hotel de Luna, same vibes as well tbh bc when I write Nami I think of Manwol tbh.

Bc with how oc acts, Izanami needs to take over when push comes to shove. Though this happens rarely.

Mostly this happens when oc is unconscious and in peril danger. Or when provoked enough to encite her fury or vise versa (usually the later is towards other gods of different pantheon, yeah she's still bitter they did nothing to restore balance in life and death). Sometimes when oc's spirit/consciousness is forcefully pushed out of their body, Izanami takes control to make sure the body is breathing.

Moon Knight episode 4 ramblings

So.. I couldn't wait a week when I saw that screencap of Marc and Steven together so... I just HAD to watch episode 4.

I am SO going to end up doing a review like with Supernatural, ain't I? And DEAR LORD DON'T LET THAT PLOT BUNNY IN MY HEAD!

So, obviously, Steven Grant is my woobie husbando, he will ALWAYS be my woobie husbando and I adore him. Thing is, yes, I used to love him from the comics, but in the comics? I am a bit more of a Marc girl. Here? Oh, god, Oscar Isaac gives Steven SO MUCH LOVE and so much personality that I just can't not love Steven as my #1.

If you don't read the comics, I have to explain. While TV Marc has pretty much 99% of Comic Marc's personality, mannerisms and backstory (Seriously, as of episode 4 the only difference is the fact that he MARRIED Layla whereas Comic Marc never married Marlene, and Marlene was present when her father died so there was no way to blame Marc for it. And now, I wonder where TV Frenchie is), TV Steven is NOTHING like Comic Steven. Comic Steven (Who is currently, ahem, literally in a sarcophagus in Marc's mind so, lol) started as... well, to be as nice as I can? A Bad Bruce Wayne copy. He had to be rich, to get Marc and Jake money for Moon Knight stuff, but he was... very vapid. And while Lemire did a lot for him (I think by now you know I WORSHIP Lemire's Moon Knight run) , he was stilll... the less useful personality. Even as he was also the oldest AND the one created to protect Marc from very nasty memories and encounters with a pedo nazi. I wish I was kidding about that last part.

But here? Here Steven could easily be the ACTUAL uhm, don't want to say first or original as I know that's the wrong word but... born to the body? And if he isn't? It doesn't matter because he STILL has a life. He is geeky as hell, he's charming, he's shy. Seeing him geek out in episode 3 about being in the Pyramid of Giza and now here when he found Alexander the Great's tomb? Those things make him far, far more real for me than him kissing Layla (Although that was to be expected. In Moon Knight, the ONE thing that the three personalities have in common is always their love interest. I don't think there was ever a run in which only one of the alters loved the current designated love interest or each alter had their own love interest. Marlene is... Pretty much untouchable right there with Mary Jane Watson) because those are things that are HIS, and not shared with Marc.

Speaking of, poor Marc. He is REALLY lost without Khonshu, for all he yelled and screamed about Khonshu being an ass. And... uhm.. HOW many gods have the egypcian pantheon stoned? Seriously, it's about time they start re-thinking their approach or Lokigator could take over in three seconds flat. And probably do a better job of protecting humanity.

I do wonder if that third sarcophagus at the end was Jake. I do hope it was Jake. I am DYING to meet Jake and see what Oscar Isaac does with him, given how perfectly different Steven and Marc are. And how little episodes we have left to meet him!

Ethan Hawke, btw, is also deserving of an Oscar (Just not Oscar Isaac, no RPF here). His "Steven Grant" was hilariously Shatnery, and his Dr. Harrow nice enough to ALMOST believe his worry for Marc. ALMOST.

May Calamawy is perfect, and I hadn't mentioned her before, sorry, but Too many things in my head. I love how Layla is so strong and so capable of taking care of herself. YES she is broken, and YES she has the worst husband ever (not that Marc is bad. He's just bad at communicating) but HELL if she's going to let that stop her from doing the right thing!

Loved seeing Crawley moving! Even if it was so short. And the asylum sequence was perfect and seriously, right out of Lemire's. I missed Khonshu, but, well, he's a bit petrified right now.

I'll admit, there was only ONE thing that I disliked from the episode, and it was Arthur's scene with Layla. Not because it was not gorgeous, incredibly shot, acted and photographed. The scene itself was great, especially as Arthur only used ENOUGH information to make Layla doubt Marc, without actually LYING to her (Seriously, he reminds me so much of The Truth... he's like a mixture of The Truth and Sun King and of course, Dr. Emmit - aka Ammit, who is a woman in the comics a- that I love him) BUT... it makes pretty clear that the scene in the Asylum is not REAL. That Marc is NOT imagining everything, and that whatever it's going on in the asylum is fake even BEFORE we meet Taweret because it's something that neither Marc nor Steven witnessed. So it makes it a bit obvious that yeah, our guys are a bit crazy, but not THAT crazy.

OTOH, I dunno how I would've kept that amazing scene later as a flashback so... I can live with it. After all, we are not that deep in mindgames that we'd think this is all in Marc's head (because btw, I LOVED that the one who woke in the Asylum was Marc and not Steven, since Steven would've made more sense given the whole "maybe you are imagining everything" angle.

Khonshu, these ramblings are getting longer every time. Damn you Marvel for only giving us 6 episodes! Please, be nice and, as you did with Loki, give us a second season!

Okay so yesterday i watched love and thunder and i think it's okay (and yes definitely way better than mom)

I think it has a tone problem tho, i like the comedy stuff there should be less jokes in this one

Gorr is amazing as a villain holy shit, the time he appears when he's already corrupted i got chills down my spine! The camera works are *chef kiss

But....

With him being the villain, back to the tone problem i think that's what made this story didn't turn well. Gorr literally wanted to eradicate ALL GODS, that's probably the highest stake in every thor movie ever had.

And gotta admit, i'm thinking a lot to moon knight's story. As in i tried to search for the connections yk but i'll talk abt this later

I feel like there should be some infinity war element kind of tone in here, it's not that in the end the gang's supposed to loose tho but make it as if they're actually going to loose

When gorr almost got to the eternity i feel a bit dissapointed cause yea i knew he'll change his mind/heart or prob not succeeded

Compare this in ragnarok tho, i feel like the stakes with hela was much bigger/higher cause ragnarok pretty much showed a lot of the damages hela has done to the gang from act 1

The screaming goats ruined the scene when the gang just arrived in shadow-realm-planet(???) sorry i forgot the name lmao, anyway i love the goats in other scenes but i hate them in here only, cause seriously it didn't match the gloomy, dark, corrupted tone of the place itself

And i miss loki being in here, i get that the loki that thor knew is gone-actually-gone but i wish there's more of him talking about his bro :(

simon snow has fucking dragon powers or some shit and this is my goddamn proof

Whilst you people were having a meltdown over Baz and Simon not hashing it out (Simon’s not in a place of understanding his self worth enough for that yet.), I was having a meltdown about Simon Snow The Literal Fucking Dragon. 

Now, this is obviously going to have major spoilers for Wayward Son. I’m going to assume you’ve read it if you’re reading this. I’ve put a lot of thought into this theory and this is a long ass post so I’m putting it under the cut. Now. Let’s go, lesbians!

First and foremost, let’s start with the wings and tail. 

Simon’s wings are established at the very beginning of Wayward Son to represent something. We don’t really get to quite know what that something is until they start referring to Simon’s wings the same way they used to refer to his magic. 

The most direct reference to Simon’s wings symbolizing his magic is in Simon’s section of the prologue at the very end of the book:

“It’s time for me to stop pretending I’m some sort of superhero. I was that-- I really was-- but I’m not anymore. I don’t belong in the same world as sorcerers and vampires. That’s not my story.

Dr. Wellbelove said he could remove the wings. And the tail. Whenever I’m ready. I could go back to school then, or get a job...”

This section directly confirms that yes, these wings are a metaphor for Simon’s magic. They’re all he has left connect him to the world of magic. They’re the only thing still making him feel even remotely on the same level as Baz and Penelope. (This book really was all about the concept of self-worth and how completely lacking it affects not only us but those we love. Phew, talk about a doozy. No wonder we’re all crying.)

Now that we’ve established that Simon’s wings, at the very least, are his one tether to magic, let’s drive the nail into the coffin of the wings and tail being absolutely, 100% symbolic of his magic. 

As I mentioned earlier, the book starts treating the wings exactly the same as it treated his magic. This even starts before Wayward Son. The first mention of Simon’s emotions relating to his wings and tail is in the first book. In the epilogue, in Baz’s section, during the dance scene. 

“His tail whips out of my hand. It tends to slash around when he’s upset.”

This really starts to come out in the last fourth of Wayward when he’s “itching for a fight.”

His wings constantly poke, prod, and generally annoy Baz and Penny because he refuses to put them away. Almost.... like... how his magic..... felt suffocating.... and too much... and he couldn’t push it back... or tamp it down. *cough*

Okay, so that was all pretty basic, boring, base-building stuff, yeah?  Pretty “whatever we get it.” 

Well, here’s where it starts to get fun. 

Let’s talk about Simon’s Mirrors.

Lemme just explain what the hell a mirror is, first. In case we all flunked our high school Lit classes. 

A mirror character is, in simple terms, a character that acts, looks like, or reminds you of one of the main characters. Through these “mirror characters” some important information about the main character is revealed to us subtextually. 

Let’s name our Simon mirrors:

Ebb 

Agatha (she’s being developed as her own character but that’s not stopping her from mirroring our good lad.)

Aunt Fiona (to some extent anyway. she doesn’t really factor here.) 

There might be some minor ones I’m forgetting (I’m not including foils) but these are our main guys. 

I put Ebb on the list first, but let’s start with Agatha, the cranky heroine of our dreams. 

Throughout the whole first book, Agatha is shown to be Simon’s mirror. Them both mooning over Baz in almost the exact same way. (Jesus Christ they’re embarrassing to watch.) The waiting on rooftops, the handkerchief. (Don’t get me started on Simon carrying around Baz’s scarf in Wayward. I’m soft and everything hurts. Our poor, stupid, stupid boys.) It’s not exactly subtle. 

In Carry On, Agatha reveals just how much Simon also resents his fate. He never really expresses it, but Agatha is reflecting to us how he’s feeling. They both get progressively less resigned to the bullshit “Chosen One” fate as the book goes on. They both make it out alive. Maybe everything will be okay. 

But then Rainbow rolls up with a Sex On The Beach and Gucci sunglasses to tell us that “fuck no everything’s not okay.” (She’s right. God, I could go on a rant about how no one ever talks about how you feel when you’ve defeated the villain. When you’ve escaped the dungeon. Hhhhh)

Wayward Son immediately sets Agatha up as even more of a mirror than she was in the first book. We’re shown right away that the two of them are both in a depressed funk. They’re both at “15%” and miserable. These two are echoing each other like NEVER before and I am LIVING for it. 

Like, we even get this amazing bit in Chapter Four:

“That would feel like an answer to... the question of me. Then I could say, ‘Oh, that’s who I am. That’s why I’ve been so confused.’”

They! Are! Struggling!

Now, how does this relate to Simon having literal fucking dragon powers? Good question, thank you for asking. 

In Chapter Fifty-Six, when Pen and Agatha are stuck in the back of Fuckwad Vampire #3′s car, Agatha says this:

“I honestly thought I could walk away from it all-- like magic was a place. Like magic was a person. Or a habit I could break.

When Simon first came to Watford, he couldn’t make his wand work. He could barely cast a spell. He thought they were going to kick him out, that he wasn’t magic enough. 

“You don’t do magic,” Penelope told him. “You are magic.”

I... am magic. 

Whether I like it or not, whether or not I claim it. Whether or not I carry my wand. 

It’s in me, somehow. Blood, water, bone.”

They!! Are!! Both!! Magic!! 

Magic is in them! Magic is with them! They’re made of the stuff! They can’t cut off this part of them, no matter how much they want to. (lmao. talk about good old internalized homophobia. I don’t really have an opinion on what Agatha’s sexuality is, btw. I’m using homophobia as a blanket term because I have no clue what’s up on that front.)

Simon is made of magic. He doesn’t want to remove his wings. Even though he has to hide them. Even though he thinks he’s a Normal now. Like Penny said, “an aeroplane is still an aeroplane even if it’s on the ground.” (I’m not sure that’s verbatim, apologies.)

Simon still has magic. We just can’t see it. He’s made of magic. He is magic. He was literally conceived during a spell. Bitch is as magical as you can get. 

But where is the magic???? Where’d it go???? Hello????

I’m getting there. I promise. First, we need to talk about Ebb. 

Ebb wasn’t only Simon’s weird Aunt figure; she was his mirror. Ebb was what would’ve happened to Simon if he hadn’t rejected the mage at the end of Carry On. Ebb just gave in. She didn’t want to fight anymore, and she figured Shithead The Great knew more than she did. 

God I just fucking hate Mage so much like holy shit. Anyway, anyway. 

Ebb was the strongest magician next to Simon. She didn’t want to fight. She didn’t want to use her magic for any great purpose. She just wanted to be. Agatha even reiterates this in the epilogue of Carry On.

 “Like, they couldn’t just let her be.”

(No, Simon doesn’t miss killing things in Wayward. He misses excitement and having a purpose. He mainly misses having a purpose. Not having one of those fucking sucks.)

What the fuck does Ebb have to do with this? Why can’t I just get to the point?

My point is!

My Point IS!

That goddamn dragon with the sheep was supposed to remind you of Ebb.

So, let’s do the math. If 1=1x1= 1 then...

Ebb = Margaret = Simon

Sure, sure we had Simon screeching that he wasn’t a dragon. But Margaret was immediately like, 

“Not yet.” She pets his wing. “Are kitten. Someday dragon. Someday ferocious.”

Simon smells like a dragon, but also apparently “smells like iron.” Whatever the fuck that means. I mean I guess it means that Baz could still sippy sippy. (Which is gonna happen or I’ll eat my own toe.) 

One more thing: 

“I wanted wings,” he says. “I wanted to fly.”

“Why tail?”

“I wanted to be free!”

Gee, that sure sounds like what Agatha was saying earlier, huh?

YEAH OKAY HE’S HALF DRAGON!! WE’VE ESTABLISHED THAT!!! WHAT THE FUCK AM I ON ABOUT!!!!

Omg thank you for asking. I’m going to blow your mind with my final point. 

The Final Point: The Baz Problem.

Wayward Son is, by all accounts, Baz’s book. It develops everyone beautifully and everyone has an arc, but this book is where Baz gets to shine. 

We found out in this book that vampires are immortal.

This introduced a whole new issue, an issue that surfaces every time immortality is introduced as a possibility for one character but not the rest. 

Someday, Baz will be left alone.

He’ll inevitably outlive everyone he cares about. We all know our poor, beautiful, delicate bastard boy couldn’t take it. How deeply he cares is his most beautiful and wonderful trait, and this could break him. 

I wonder, how long does a dragon live?

Penny talks about the improbability of Simon and Baz in Chapter Three. 

“Star-cross’d lovers. ‘From forth the fatal loins of these two foes.’ The whole shebang.”

Simon’s magic was always described as smoke and fire. The first creature we learn about Simon fighting was a dragon. (Chapter 1, first page of Carry On)

“You’ve slain a dragon, Simon. Surely you can manage a long walk and a few buses.”

 God, I just really hate Bitchface the Mage. Anywho.

Simon. The One Who Came to End Us. Simon. The One To Save Us All. Simon is the dragon and the knight. He’s his own worst enemy. His arc will be completed once he accepts the “dragon” part of himself. It’s poetic as fuck, I must admit. 

Simon has to find love and care for himself, and then this baby dragon will be grown. He’ll be “on top” as Margaret had said. (God, could you imagine all the dragons waking up? How fucking epic would THAT be? Fingers crossed.)

The monster that drains living things and the monster that burns all in its wake. These losers are starcrossed, but they complete each other. Dumbasses. I just love them so much why can’t they get their shit together. 

Simon and Baz’s storylines are utterly intertwined. They’re perfectly matched. Simon might not know it, but their hearts are already tied together; they beat in sync. They’re two stars orbiting each other. And, if we’re all very lucky, maybe they won’t crash. Maybe this story won’t end in flames. 

So, in conclusion, I really really really want Simon to breathe fire. The only other way I could see this twisting is the wings somehow going away and Simon getting a regular-magician amount of magic. That’s kinda lame tho and doesn’t complete his arc correctly. This dumb boy is a dragon now and there’s nothing we can do about it. (EDIT: actually yeah simon’s not gonna lose his wings no way in fuck. check out my meta.)  Also? I would sell my soul to see Simon getting really possessive over really weird objects for his hoard.

Last night I finished a playthrough of Vambrace: Cold Soul, also known as Darkest Dungeon: Waifus on Ice Edition, or at least it would be if anyone was aware that this game exists. Can’t find fanart of it. Can’t even find porn of it. Once again, Rule 34 is a sham.

...So anyway, I wanted to give my thoughts on this, because I kinda liked the game. Now granted I’m a bit of a softy in general and have a high tolerance when it comes to video games, so don’t take this as word from a hardcore gamer like “This game is actually a gem and super underrated.” I mean, I have a soft spot for Dr. Chaos on the NES, so that should give you an idea on how well my opinion on video game quality translates to most people’s opinions. No, I can definitely see why this game doesn’t have a whole lot of fans: the gameplay is nothing to write home about, the characters (who are probably my favorite part of the game) aren’t nearly as fleshed out as I wish they were, and there were some game design choices that I did not care for (like autosave being the only saving option I could find in a game where choices always matter and making one mistake in a dialogue tree while going for a certain route could result in you having to start the whole game over from scratch, oh boy, isn’t that fun?).

I apparently got the neutral ending on this playthrough, according to the PS4 trophy list and what I was able to find while snooping around the interwebs. After a point, none of the images that appeared in the YouTube video I found of all the endings showed up, making me wonder if the PS4 version of this game is censored, or if there is something missing from the file in my download of the game. Hopefully it’s just the former. I can accept the former. Even if it means I finished the game with the protagonist in a Sailor Moon cosplay and somehow the powers that be decided that (SPOILERS BTW) a woman having a nervous breakdown in her home is somehow too hot for the PS4 to handle. I swear I’ve seen more nudity in a Castlevania game than what was showing in that picture. Still would be better than having to play through the whole game again and getting another ending and realizing that none of the ending images are showing up at all.

Also, and I’m going to try to say this last part while spoiling as little as possible... but I ship Lyric with all three of the people staying at the inn. Just throwing that out there. Was kinda disappointed that I could never make these four a party, especially since all three are kinda implied to be badass but we never really get to see that in action. So yeah, to clarify: I ship Lyric with Helga the dwarven innkeeper/bartender who I can only assume is standing on a box behind the bar the whole game and that’s adorable; Charlotte Lorelai, a princess who can apparently bench press 700 pounds and at some point can trick Lyric into going on a panty raid; and Mahoram, a fox boy whose name I kept forgetting while playing the game, so I ended up calling him Fucksboy because he is both a fox boy and a fuckboy. It’s a pun, you see. And yes, if you’re familiar with the game, all of this made a certain point in the game hurt like a motherfucker. Won’t say why, because spoilers, but I was not happy. And the lack of fanfic and fanart did not help. Guys, I even found Knights fanart once! How the fuck did this game featuring tons of waifu bait, including a main character with heterochromia for God’s sake, not inspire someone to draw fanart of it?

Also, check out the Characters page for this game on TVTropes. It’s kinda hilarious. Like, why did they even bother making a character page in the first place? Lyric has only one trope in her folder, and it’s about her heterochromia. Mahoram literally doesn’t have anything written in his folder. Like... why bother?

Maybe someday I’ll write a fic for it. Thing is, though, I... really don’t want to be the only person to write a fic for this game. Do you know how long it took for another Licorne fic to show up on AO3? The pressure is real. Also I have so many other fic ideas at the moment that I feel like the pirate AU idea I currently have for this game is just a really bad idea to even consider!
