Some stuff about me~

• I’m 20 years old in this body, and my birthday is on the 25th of May.

• I’m a straight cis female, so she / her pronouns would do just fine.

• I’ve been awakened since about 2014 ish, and I’m a spiritual Therian, Otherkin, Alterhuman, Nonhuman, Fictionfolk / Fictionkin, however you wanna call it 😂 Meaning I believe all if not most of my identities / kintypes are rooted from alternate lives, such as: Past, Future, Parallel, and Dream lives. I also display traits of experiencing some sort of age / pet regression, but I’m not sure if I fit the label entirely. But regressors are welcome here if you follow the dni! I try to keep the place as safe and family friendly as possible 😊

• Only a handful of my identities I’ve discovered are semi psychological tho. But they are not derived from imprinting, neurodivergence, or trauma. I also prefer to use the term identity, instead of therio / kin / ficto type etc.

• The label I use most in terms of my nonhumanity, is Omninonhuman! A term I coined for myself. Meaning I identify as all animals, beings, creatures, nature, etc. Basically anything and everything that’s nonhuman! Including, but not limited to: All earthly and non-earthly animals, beings, creatures, extant, extinct, insects, dirt, grass, plants, trees, flowers, fungi, rocks, stone, metals, crystals, water, land, sky, clouds, biomes, magical, mystical, mythical, mythological, supernatural, celestial, cosmic, galactic, divine, holy, unholy, infernal, universal, etc. Though, I connect more with wolves, or just canines in general lol.

• I have depression, social anxiety, body and species dysphoria. Are name, personality and voice dysphoria a thing as well, perhaps? Lol. Also I’m a vegan for the animals :)

• I absolutely love animals. I aspire to be an Animal & Nature Conservationist / Own an animal rescue ( domestic or wild ). I am against all forms of animal abuse, agriculture, cruelty, exploitation, use, etc., as I am a true vegan through and through, and so I do not support the therian real animal part gear obsession. • I absolutely love talking about my alternate / past lives, even though I may not know a whole bunch about them. And I would be more than happy to listen to others speak of their lives as well! Alternate / past lives in general are all very intriguing to me

So... I painstakingly made a transcript of Emily Kinney’s MCW podcast episode with Norman Reedus. I did it for the benefit of several Emily and Norman fans who I know in South America who can’t necessarily comprehend spoken English that well. So all they need to do now is copy/paste this script into their preferred translator app. So I figured I would share it here as well so that it can help any of you who are non-English speaking or even deaf/hearing impaired comprehend the dialogue. 😁

Emily: “All right... time to make some coffee. Oh my God. I had cinnamon rolls outside of my front door this morning from my neighbors so my next cup of coffee I’m making, I’m gonna make to go with my cinnamon rolls. I cannot wait!”

[Emily’s introduction]: “I first met Norman Reedus working on ‘The Walking Dead,’ of course. Over the course of my four seasons on our show, I got to know Norman better and better and we became good friends. And in a sort of interesting parallel, our characters’ storylines also became more intertwined within the show. Norman is so special... he seems to have endless amounts of creative energy that I find incredibly inspiring. He also has great taste in music and coffee which makes him a perfect guest for this podcast.”

*coffee making sounds* “Okay... we gotta get the filter in there...”

[Emily’s intro continued]: “Welcome back to ‘My Caffeine Withdrawal.’ I am so incredibly excited to share this episode with all of you today. Norman has so many fans and I know this to be true because every day someone in my life or someone on social media asks me—‘Hey, how was it working with Norman? What is Norman Reedus like?’

Well, now today you guys are going to get to know Norman in the same way that I know Norman. We talk about how Norman got into acting and when and why he moved to California as well as what his life was like as an artist first starting out in Los Angeles. We talk about a book he’s been writing... and he tells a lot of great stories. But first, Norman explained his current coffee set-up situation and how he’s currently weathering the quarantine from Costa Rica.”

“I’m already eating the cinnamon roll... it smells too good. They texted me and were like—“There’s some cinnamon rolls outside your door.” I literally have the nicest neighbors.”

*Podcast theme music plays*

N: “Hi, Emily!”

E: “Hi!”

N: “I just set this up because I’ve been listening to your podcast—which I really like—and I know it’s heavy on the coffee, so I brought my coffee set-up down the mountain in my backpack on the motorcycle and this is my coffee jam here... so this is what I do. Are you ready?”

E: “Yes.”

N: “Okaaay... this is my coffee—my butterfly coffee that I drink here...”

E: “It’s called Café Hermosa.”

N: “Yeah! It’s the one with the little butterfly.”

E: “Got it! Costa Rica.”

N: “And then... I mean, Costa Rica has really good coffee... so then, this is my coffee maker. So this little sack goes in this little thing—like this. And then I put my coffee in the sack, and then I put my cup here, and then I just pour it slowly.”

E: “Nice!”

N: “And I... you know I’ve gone through all the high-tech everything, and I always go back to this sock. And the dirtier the sock, the better the coffee tastes.”

E: “Okay.” *giggles*

N: “I think.”

E: “W-what do you call that? Like... just ‘the sock’...?”

N: “I mean... I have one of these in my trailer...”

E: “Okay.”

N: “... back in Georgia, then I ta-, you know, I pour the coffee in, and then I make the coffee, and then I take what’s left in the sack and I put it in compost and I hurl it into the jungle...”

E: “Mm-hm.”

N: “... with all the fruits and stuff that I haven’t eaten or whatever and then these things called pizotes—which are like raccoons, but have a long nose and they’re huge—they come and they eat all the scraps and I just... I just have a circular thing that I do.”

E: “Oh, wow! Yeah... so um... you’re also like one with nature with your coffee drinking.” *giggles*

N: “Yeah! I mean, you know... Costa Rica has the, you know... I think it has the best recycling program on the planet...

E: “Mmm...”

N: “... so if you don’t do it, I think they kick you out of here.”

E: “Oh... that’s great.”

N: “My cat’s here with me. So when I go feed the pizotes, the cat goes to the window and watches with amazement as these raccoon monsters eat my garbage.”

E: “Yeah. Do you put anything in your coffee?”

N: “I do! I put honey. There’s this honey here that is... there’s a local restaurant here called Laguna and one of the waitresses, her aunt makes this honey and it’s the best honey ever.”

E: “Mmm.”

N: “So I just scoop it in the... in the thing and I put like two scoops of honey and I, that’s all I drink [unintelligible word/phrase].”

E: “Mmm! That sounds good.”

N:”Yeah.”

E: “While you’re in Costa Rica, how do you start your day? Just with coffee first or do you do something else?”

N: “Sometimes I jump in the pool to wake up...”

E: “Mm-hm.”

N: “... and then I walk upstairs and make my coffee.”

E: “Mmm.”

N: “There’s this uh... sort of like yoga retreat place so they have a really nice gym but it has mirrors all over... the walls. And what I’ve found out with the yoga people is that they work out for like four hours at a time, then they look at themselves, and then they work out and lift weights, and then they look at themselves. And then they stretch and then they look at themselves. And because of COVID, you kinda wanna wait ‘til the gym’s kind of empty to go in it, so I end up out in front of the gym like, ‘You almost done? Are you almost done?’

And you know... and they’re doing this and they’re looking at themselves and it takes forever. So...”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “Sometimes I’ll ride the bike there and then I’ll try to work out and then I’m like, ‘Fuck it,’ and I go swimming.”

E: “I mean, I think swimming and then coffee sounds like a great morning routine.”

N: “Yeah. So I live on this mountaintop where there’s a monkey reserve. The trees are... you can’t cut down these trees because it’s a monkey trail. Sometimes I’ll be in the pool and there’s a tree that sorta overlooks the pool and there’ll be monkeys in the trees. I mean they’re literally like eight feet above me so I’ll just swim and look at the monkeys.”

E: “Awww... nice! Do they like come up to you and everything?”

N: “They don’t come up to you, uh... sometimes they’ll poop in the pool... which is kinda weird...? But there’s lots of these colorful little finch-like birds that will come down and you know... fly around me and stuff. It’s pretty magical.”

E: “Yeah, it sounds like it. What was the thing on Instagram—you posted this picture of a hummingbird. That was crazy! What made you post that?”

N: “It’s this person that I’ve become friends with. They only try to post uh... positive things and they work with people and... I didn’t realize that until after I posted it and they contacted me and we’ve been sort of having this exchange. But I think their whole vibe is to just put out positive content so they work with different artists and create positive content. And that post comes from THEIR site. So they reached out and then now we’re friends.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “I’ve been trying to do that with posts... just post positive shit... artwork or whatever. I’m just so tired of politicians. It’s like, I’m into scientists and artists now. Like, I’m just over it. This all sorta started when EVERYBODY hit me up... they’re like: ‘Can you... can you post people to wash their hands?’

I’m like... if people don’t know how to fuckin’ wash their hands by now, like, ‘What the hell, right?’

So then... it... that went to that and then all those Twitter hashtags like #guillotine2020 and all those things happening and then everybody from the show and everybody from the network and you know everybody else that’s involved with everything was—‘Can you post this? Can you do this? Can you make a short video?’

And I was like... I will to a certain extent, but I’m kind of cut from that cloth that I don’t wanna hear celebrities tell me what to do... you know what I mean?”

E: “Yeah...”

N: “And... I’m very selective with what I do and then there’s that.”

E: “Yeah...”

N: “And you know... you have Gal Gadot singing ‘Imagine’ and I was like, ‘This is going to be a disaster!’ and it was.

You kind of just saw it all coming and happening so I’m just very selective and I just wanna put out positive stuff, you know?”

E: “No... I totally relate to that! I feel like there can be this pressure. With social media... it’s like you do have to kind of like set up your own boundaries because it IS fun and like... you’re really good at like connecting with people on social media and you know... like you said, putting up cool art, putting up cool music that you like. But then there can be this pressure to get involved in OTHER aspects of social media that maybe you just like... if you wanna show your support for a certain politician or for a certain social movement, maybe you don’t do that on Instagram ‘cause maybe Instagram...

N: “Yeah...”

E: “... for YOU is just a positive place. You get even MORE requests than I do, but similar where friends would be like—‘Aren’t you gonna post about this? Aren’t you gonna post about that?’

I think it’s great that you make those rules for yourself because I feel like I’ve gone through different... ‘Oh maybe I SHOULD be posting all the time about this thing or... but wait! Now I don’t even want to be on it anymore.’

And it used to be like a fun thing... a fun way to share my music.”

N: “You know, I’ve found out a lot of ‘em are like, ‘Oh, can you do this and make a video and mention this and then put this hashtag...?’

And then it all goes back to almost self-promotion for them.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “You know? Like it’s like, ‘Look at... look what I did!’

And then, ‘I got all these people with all these followers to post things with all my stuff.’

And it was sort of being skewed in the wrong reasons with some of them...”

E: “Yeah!”

N: “... you know what I mean?”

E: “Sort of like a performative activism kind of thing like, ‘Oh now this problem is... is MY problem, it upsets me too!’

And become making it more about like... yourself rather than... like... trying to fix the problem.”

N:”And you know too like if you have like a lot of followers like everybody you know is like, ‘I’m doin’ a thing! Can you post for me?’

And then it comes to the point where everyone just is like...”

E: *sigh* “Yeah.”

N: “You know... ‘Can you promote me? Can you promote me? Can you promote me?’”

E: *laughs* “Yeah.”

N: “‘I’m making a brand of forks... can you promote me?’

And you’re like, ‘Goddamn!’

You know...”

E: “Yeah. It’s overwhelming. I think it’s cool though that you’re just putting out positive. Plus there’s enough negative right now. Like people need a balance... like, in the... world. You know, like we need...” *tired laugh*

N: “And I know, I know a lot of people too that are just like... with like... pitchforks that are just... ‘Get ‘em! Get ‘em! Get ‘em! Get ‘em!’

And I’m like, ‘Ugh... ENOUGH.’”

E: “You wanna hear something kind of crazy about the hummingbird thing? I don’t know if you know this about me, but I’ve definitely gotten more like... spiritual. But like, this is gonna sound crazy. I like don’t even usually talk about this stuff, but I sort of have this SIGN of when I’m like guided where I’m supposed to go and my sign has been hummingbird. And you had texted me and I randomly looked at your Instagram and saw it...”

N: “Wow.”

E: “It definitely was like one of those... like... go THERE. Maybe it was just if there is a God or if you’re just being like, ‘Oh nice... connect with your friend,’ you know like... ‘Connect with Norman,’ like...”

N: “I actually believe all that. You know, when I texted you, I was having breakfast at this place by the beach—the lady that makes the honey—I was at her place. And I was listening to your... your podcast with Lennie...”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “And I had already heard Lauren’s and I was listening to Lennie’s, and at the end of it you’re like, ‘You know what? I hope during COVID, everyone can reach out to a friend, and duh-duh-duh-duh...’

And I was like, ‘I’m just gonna text her.’ So I texted you at that moment.

I have the same thing with a bird. Like my dad... before my dad died, he was always talking about cardinals—those red cardinals. Every time I see a cardinal, I think the same thing. And THEN, the night before, Danai called me out of nowhere. I haven’t spoken to Danai in forever and she’s like, ‘What are you doing?’

And I’m like, ‘I’m sitting on my patio with all the lights off...’

And there was a meteor shower. It’s called, like, the Gideon meteor shower—some huge meteor shower that happened. And I saw twenty one shooting stars before I went to bed. I pay attention to all that shit.”

E: “Yeah!”

N: “Twenty one! And I was like talking, I’m like... ‘There’s eleven! That’s twelve!’

And they just kept going. I believe all that stuff.”

E: “I grew up Catholic, so like, I kind of like... religion in general felt like sort of overwhelming even though a prayer and stuff like that came naturally to me. And then just over like the last like five or six years or so I’ve liked really embraced it, where I’m sort of like, ‘Yup! I think these things are happening. I have little signs that tell me like... where to go.’ *giggles* I guess I don’t really talk about it with people much, but it’s just... I read about it and stuff. Yeah.”

N: “I-I believe it. I-I-I believe all of them. I’m not really religious, but I-I believe all those signs all the time.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “I see little signs in everything... yeah.”

E: “Yeah. Like during this downtime, do you feel like you’ve been able to like be creative? Or have you just been sort of embracing a rest and just being able to sort of like be with your family and like...?”

N: “I did a BUNCH during the downtime... like...”

E: “You did.”

N: “... so what happened was... I was in, I was in New Zealand and I was shooting episodes of ‘Ride’ and Diane was doing a movie in... in California in LA so I... I flew to LA from New Zealand and I was on my way to Italy and AMC called and there was like... ‘There’s an outbreak in Italy. You’re not going to Italy.’

They’re like, ‘Just sit tight.’

So that ‘sitting tight’ thing turned into like a year, you know? I was there forever. I have a First Look production deal with AMC and me and my partner, Amanda Verdon. It gave us the opportunity to really find a lot of projects... do a lot of reading, do a lot of these Zoom calls—we did a ton of them—and we have like seven projects in development right now. But I wouldn’t have gotten to do that if I was on ‘Walking Dead’ because I have zero time, you know.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “I wrote a novel... with a friend. So...”

E: “Oh my God! What’s it about?”

N: “There’s four different stories that happened. You know, it’s weird, because I’ll take different sections of... of my life and I’ll turn them into other things which’ll branch into other things, and so forth.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “But in ‘Walking Dead,’ there’s my favorite answer, I guess, for the interviews is—this group of people who would’ve never known each other or gotten along or whatever, because of the circumstance, they’ve become friends and they rely on each other. And they’re people from completely different walks of life, right? And they form this bond as they sort of develop their own family, and they rely on each other, and they respect each other, and THAT’s how you get through. So... that’s always been like my go-to answer for everything ‘Walking Dead.’

*Imitates an interviewer* ‘What is [unintelligible]? What do you think it is about it? Does it mirror society?’

You know all those fuckin’ questions you get all the time. It’s kind of like that. So... it’s four different stories of people that are on the move or groups that are on the move and because they’re on the move, they’re forced to find a sense of family on the way. There is a lesson learned, there’s mistakes, there’s drama, there’s love, there’s horror... all the things. Um... you know, it kind of started... I was, I was on a plane—from Costa Rica actually—to Uruguay. I did an episode of ‘Ride’ in Costa Rica and it was SUPER dirty! Like, we were in the dirt, people broke teeth out of their face... like we were disgusting for a week here. And we were on the other side of the island, but I had to race to catch a flight to get to Uruguay from filming. So, there’s a group set up there with another bike and I just... I just immediately start filming there. So I race to get on this plane, I’m sitting there, and I’m kind of in this tiny little area of the plane, and I’m just like COVERED in dirt. Like the creases in my face have dust in them and I’m just fucking filthy and I STINK. Like... I’m GROSS. And I’m sittin’ on the plane with a dirty backpack at my feet which is full of sand. I’m like, ‘Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry...’ there’s like no getting around it.

This businessman’s sitting next to me. He’s kind of like this pudgy older guy and he’s got shorts on and he’s got a little backpack with him. And people are goin’ up and down the aisle, and they’re like, ‘Hey, can I get an autograph? Hey, can you sign this? Can you, can I get a selfie? Whatever...’

And I’m just like, ‘Yeah.’

And I’m fucking like REALLY dirty, right? And the guy’s looking at me and he’s looking at the people and after about 45 minutes, he goes—‘Who are you?’

And I said, ‘Oh, I’m on a TV show. That’s what all this is about.’

We start to talk... and this business man, he, I... I go, ‘What about you?’

‘I own one of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the world.’

And I’m like, ‘Oh!’

And I never asked him what it was ‘cause I figured, like, if he’s gonna tell me, he’ll tell me. We start this conversation... me and this stranger. He goes, ‘Last year, my mother died.’

On his mother’s death bed, she said to the guy—‘You need to just run away. Do me a favor... just run away.’

And he didn’t know what she was talkin’ about. And then THIS year, his wife died and he was left alone. Like he’s this guy that runs this huge company, has all these employees, but he has no family... it was just his mother and his wife. And he’s kind of alone. And he was thinking about what his mother said to him. So he told the other partners in the business... he said, ‘Hey, can you guys take care of things? I’m gonna go away for a little while.’

And they’re like, ‘Yeah! Take all the time you need.’

Someone would say, ‘You know what? You should go to Chile.’

And he’d go, ‘Okay!’

And he would just go to Chile, and he would wander around Chile. Or, ‘Go to Peru!’

‘Okay,’

And he was on his way to where I was headed right now. And he’s sittin’ there telling me this story like a little kid. And I’m just like listening to him, you know? He goes, ‘You know what? I spent my entire life trying to make money. I wasted my whole life’... almost with like tears in his eyes. He’s like, ‘I wasted my whole life just trying to make money.’

And so he’s trying to find this personal sense of freedom like late in his life... kind of being forced to. You know, and I’m thinking about it and I’m wondering where he’s going, and I’m kind of living that life...? I’m kind of bouncing all over the world... this experience, people with the show and so forth... with ‘Ride,’ I mean. And I expanded his story and made him a character in the book. He told me this thing too. He goes, ‘Yeah, I was in Peru...’

He was backpacking... you know, with his backpack. And he got out to the middle of this intersection and there was NO ONE around like as far as he could see. And he took out his phone and he played a Prince song, and put it on the crosswalk of the intersection, and was just dancing like crazy... all by himself. Like sort of finding this freedom, right? And uh... this strength, I guess. He was out there dancing. So there’s also in the book, there’s this group of kids that jump trains, right? And because of circumstances, they’re running from things and sort of finding this sense of family along the way with all these scary moments. But... there’s a chapter with this guy. He ends up in this situation, he ends up putting his phone on the thing and he’s dancing. And in the background there’s a train going by and there’s these kids like, watching this crazy guy dancing with himself. Like... so I sort of mix these stories together and they all kind of are on a mission and they sort of find their way. You know what I mean?”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “So that’s it. I turned it into a book. And I had help writing the book. I’m not an author by any means. But uh... it’s with the publishing house now... doing their final edit. So it’s almost done.”

E: “Yeah.”

N: “So I did that... and some other shit.”

E: “Yeah. I mean... that sounds like you’ve had a very productive quarantine. Or whatever... this coronapocalypse quarantine time.”

Chapter 8

We were advised by Beorn that the quickest way to get to the Lonely Mountain was to cut through the Mirkwood forest. He lent us some of his horses to get us to the forest.

“Stay on the path. Do not stray.” Gandalf advised us. He was very solemn. I stood and watched him ride off into obscurity. When I couldn't see him anymore, I turned and walked into the unknown.

When I entered everything felt off, like there was something sinister hiding deep in the wood. I’m not sure what it could be, but it gives me a bad feeling. The air is thick and the wood is sick. The smell of stale air, and infection are spread throughout the forest. The breeze is heard at the tops of the trees, although nothing is felt on the ground. 

The path is made of stone, and the line is very clear. With Thorin at our lead, we will not stray. We have been walking for what felt like forever, when I looked down and there was no path. I stopped and turned in a circle, the path was nowhere to be found!

“Excuse me, guys, but it appears that we have strayed from the path!” They all looked around. 

“Oh no where is the path?”

“We lost the path!” We scattered around for a few minutes until we finally found the path again. The stones are a welcome sight, and the slow quiet trickle of a stream was enticing. As we walked forward we saw there was a bridge, broken in the middle, a sight right out of a picture. 

“Do you not remember what Gandalf said, these waters are enchanted.”

“How are we going to get across, I don’t think swimming is a good idea.” Fog floated a few inches above the water. The water was murky and there was no telling how deep it actually was. I walked over to a huge branch that was curling off to the left of the broken bridge. I ran my hand along the bark, wondering how old this tree was, and how we were going to get across safely. The events from Beorn’s and a week ago were racing through my mind. Even just the thought of it made my stomach churn and my head swirl.

Dwalin noticed me standing off to the side and came to stand by me. I didn’t even look at him, I’m still so mad at him for walking away and refusing to talk to me about it. I think I’m more mad at me for thinking he’s interested, for embarrassing myself. But most of all, for falling for him. He’s my best friend here, and he probably thinks about me as a kid. 

“What’s going on that head of yer’s lassie?” I rolled my head to the side, to look at him.

“What do you think is running through my mind?” 

“Lass I’m not a mind reader, I don’t know.”

“Yeah, that much is clear.” I rolled my eyes and stalked away from him.

When I got back to the group, Bilbo had used some hanging vines to climb his way across the river. The rest of us would then use the vines and also cross, staying away from the water. Dwalin went last. That way he could keep an eye on everyone to make sure they were safe. Thorin went first, and the rest of us followed. We were all in a clump trying to get to the other side. It didn’t make it easy, having all us in one area at once. There were a few times I almost fell, but Fili managed to catch me. He’s always doing that. When I turned to thank Fili, I noticed Dwalin shooting daggers, into Fili’s back. 

“Uh, thanks Fili.” My eyes darted between him and Dwalin.

“I feel it. Don’t worry, he’s just jealous.” 

“I doubt it.” I muttered.

With a little help, I finally made it to the other side, landing beside Thorin. Everyone else was still trying to cross, behind me I heard some twigs snapping. I turned my head over my right shoulder, trying to see what was making the noise. I saw something white in the corner of my eye. By the time I was fully turned around there was a white stag standing in a clearing. It was the brightest thing I’ve seen since we stepped foot into the forsaken forest. Thorin readied his bow, and while we were staring at it, let his arrow fly. 

“That’s bad luck.” Bilbo whispered. 

“I don’t believe in luck. We make our own luck.” Thorin responded. Watching it run off, I started to cry. I cried for my friends losing their home, for losing his family, for my fight with Dwalin, but most of all I cried because I had lost hope. Hope that we would get out of this forest, and that we would all come out alive at the end. I heard a dull thud, and a splash. My head whirled as I wiped my tears, and there behind me was Fili. In the water behind him, was Bombur, fast asleep. We got everyone across the bridge, and then they pulled Bombur out of the water by his braid. Once he was on dry land, we got him dried off, and he woke up. Then we were on our way again. 

We had been wandering for what felt like days, and the path was getting harder and harder to follow. I lost my footing and stumbled forward. Reaching out to brace myself, I latched onto Dwalin, who willingly caught me. He held me until I was steadied enough to let go.  

“Are ya, alirgh’?” He looked at me with concern. 

“I’m fine.” I shrugged his arms off of me, and walked ahead of him. The feel of his arms wouldn’t leave me though. They were strong, and warm. Oh so warm. They were heavy with muscles, hard from years of use. They were comfortable, they felt like home. 

I looked down, to try to occupy my mind, from thinking about him. I let out a loud gasp, loud enough to stop the entire company in their tracks. “We’ve lost the pathway again!”

Everyone started to call out and look for the path, but it was nowhere to be seen. We found some of our things scattered around, and discovered that we have been going in circles for who knows how long. We couldn’t figure out what to do, and everyone was on edge. They were starting fights left and right. I watched as Bilbo climbed up a tree. 

Dwalin was on the edge of a cliff overlooking the forest. He turned and walked over to me. “Are ya okay, from the spill you took?”

I looked up at him and the sound of his voice grated against my ears.

“I’m not saying that you’re not okay, you just don’t look that good.”

“Oh, I get it. I’m not good enough for you-”

“-Lass that’s not what I meant.”

“No. No, it’s fine. That’s why you walked away from me the other day.” He opened his mouth to say something, but I held up my finger cutting him off. “Nope. It’s fine. Don’t worry.” I patted his chest and walked away. He stood there watching me. I sat next to Thorin trying to fend off the burning glare of Dwalin. I tapped Thorin on the shoulder, “Are we going to get moving any time soon?” He was about to respond, when I heard a noise somewhere in the distance. I turned to try to pinpoint where it was coming from or what was making it. I couldn’t tell what it was. 

I placed my hand on his arm, “Thorin, do you hear that?” He turned towards me. “I think-AHHH!” I was grabbed and pulled upwards. Whatever grabbed me was screeching, in a most disgusting way. I reached for my sword, and started to swing. I nicked it and it screamed louder than before, then it thumped me against a tree, and everything faded into black. 

I woke up to my name being shouted rather frantically. “Hello?!” I called out. “Hello? I’m Here!” They continued to call my name, as if they hadn’t heard me. Maybe they didn’t. Out of nowhere a sword is about two inches from my face, and dragged down my body. “AHHHH!” 

“I found Y/N!” I looked up and Bilbo was holding his hand out for me to take. I grabbed it and he pulled me up. I did a quick inventory to make sure nothing was broken. Nothing was broken. I turned around and it was chaos! There were spiders screeching and dwarves fighting and being thrown around. One of the spiders turned and locked in on me. It was big, and screeching. The fangs hanging from it’s face are terrifying. Sharp and dripping with venom, or spit I couldn’t tell. 

I lifted my sword and readied myself. Once the spider was within striking distance I rolled under and thrusted my sword up. The spider screeched and rolled off. It was angrier than before, so it turned and lunged at me with a renewed vigor. I tried to get away from it, but it was too quick. It grabbed me and it lifted me up. I couldn’t fight it off, not with the way it was holding me. I was dropped to the ground and I landed hard on my back. By the time I got up, we were surrounded by elves, who were helping us fight off the spiders. 

“Don’t think I won’t kill you dwarf. It would be my pleasure.” A tall blonde  elf said, holding an arrow at Thorin’s head throat. More appeared out of the woods. Like they had been waiting, watching, for the right time to step in. I scowled at the thought.

“Search them.” the white haired elf commanded. Thorin looked rather pissed that they were here. They started searching everyone. They pulled a locket out of Gimli’s coat. “Who is this? Your brother?” He asked. 

“That is......my wife!”

“And what is this horrid creature? A Goblin-mutant?” Man this guy is as rude as they get. 

“That's my wee lad, Gimli.” I was so lost watching the interaction, I didn’t notice that an elf came up and was getting ready to search me. This particular elf, looked in every pocket, anything he believed could hide a weapon. 

“Hey, watch where you’re putting your hands, you creep!” I pushed him away from me. He grabbed my arm, stopping me from pushing him anymore. Others heard the commotion, and tried to push through to get to me. 

“Aye! Ye better not hurt em’!” Dwalin yelled. 

“I’ll rip you to shreds if you touch a hair on their head!” Dori yelled. 

Thorin finally tore free from the elf searching him, and pushed his way to me. “That is enough.” He pushed them away from me and pulled me up to Dwalin. He deposited me there, knowing I would be safe with him. However, he is the last person I want to be around right now. I’m still angry with him. We marched towards Mirkwood. 

As we were walking I started counting everyone. I turned while I was walking, and tripped over my own two feet. Dwalin caught me. I smacked him in the arm, causing him to let go of me. “Dwalin…” I whispered, he didn’t respond. “..Dwalin, we’re missing Bilbo.” He looked confused. 

“What?”

“He’s not with us. I don’t know where he is.”

“He’s probably fine. Don’t worry.”

“Dwalin! I can’t not worry. In case you forgot, there are spiders out there.”

“Love, he’ll be fine. Please don’t worry.” I gave him a swift elbow to the gut

“What is that for?”

“For calling me love. I’m not your love, you’ve made that very clear.” I stared down at my feet, for the rest of the walk. At the command of the blonde haired elf, they seperated Thorin and me from the rest of the group. I grabbed Thorin’s hand because I was scared of falling. Who designs a walkway without railings? Who does that? They brought us before a throne that looked like it was made of branches. The same as the crown on the man’s head. Thorin squeezed my hand in reassurance as we were brought before him. 

“Some may imagine that a noble quest is at hand. A quest to reclaim a homeland and slay a dragon.” He walked down the steps, and got in Thorin’s face. “And dragged a woman with you, how did this happen?” He turned to me.

“It just happened.” I raised my eyebrows at the end.

 “A woman in the company of dwarves, I can imagine a more desirous situation for you, than this quest. Does it not bother you that you are alone amongst men? Does it not bother you that this is dangerous, and that you might die?”

“Is this because I’m a woman, because I know you don’t have an issue with that. You have a female warrior amongst you, and others seem to listen to her, so she must be high up in the ranks. So is the issue the dwarves, or just your own ignorance of my abilities?” I heard Thorin snort at my side, and squeeze my hand once again. 

“You will not address me that way, I am a king.” He roared.

“ You are not my king. Is that why you wear those twigs on your head?” He sneered at me. He turned to the guard and said something in a language I didn’t understand, and I was ripped away from Thorin. I clung to the elf rather tightly as he led me further down into the palace. Again there were no railings, although the elf said nothing to me. It was the same slim blonde haired elf, from the forest. 

“Who are you?”

“My name is Legolas.” 

“Legolas, I like that name.” 

“Thank you.” We continued to walk in silence. We finally reached the dungeons, where he opened a cell and guided me in there. My eyes were still adjusting, but I saw another figure in the cell. I reached trying to feel my way around the cell. I grabbed the tunic of whoever else was in there. 

“Who is that?” I asked patting their chest trying to get a feel of who it was. 

“It's me, lassie.” My hands froze where they were.

“Dwalin.” I breathed out. 

“Are you alright? What happened up there?” He grabbed my hands and held them down at our sides.

“We were brought before the King, and I may have done something I shouldn't have.” 

“What did you do lass?” His voice took a darker tone.

“I sassed the king, and he sent me away. I don’t think he likes me now.” He immediately pulled his hands away. 

“Lass, are ye trying to get yourself killed?! He is a fearsome warrior, not to be trifled with.” Dwalin started raising his voice at me. 

“Look Dwalin what’s done is done okay?” We sat in silence for a while before either one of us spoke. 

“Lass, why won’t you talk to me?” 

“Because Dwalin I’m angry at you.” 

“Love-” I cut him off. 

“I already told you I’m not your love.”

“So this is about the other week.”  

“Oh wow look who’s finally using their thick skull. Yes it’s about the other week. You act like you’re interested, spend time with me, look and act like you want to kiss me, then you back away at the last minute.” I walked towards him. “And do you know what the worst part of all this is?” I shook my hands at him. “I would forgive you. I would go to the ends of Middle Earth for you, even if you don’t feel the same way. Dwalin?” 

“Yeah lassie?”

“Why did you do that? I just want to know.” He took a deep breath and looked away from me. 

“I-uh. It's complicated.”

“Then uncomplicate it for me. I know you feel the same way.”

“I-I can’t. Not right now. I’m sorry.” I threw my hands up in the air. 

“Fine. Whatever. I can’t do this right now.”

My top 10 favorite openings

Yeah I know nobody asked for it, but welcome to discover new music and hopefully new animes/mangas if they catch your eye. I won't include openings of romcoms or a few slice of life stories since I should make a different list for them. I'll add the name of the band if I find it. There's a couple of songs here from animes I didn't watch. If you think there's another amazing opening that should be listened to, share!

MOB PSYCHO 100 I [99 - Mob Choir]

I always thought this was some uninteresting anime, and well I was totally wrong. The animation is AWESOME, the story is really cool and explores some interesting perspectives about life that other shonen (or seinen?) ignore. It has a different style, it's kinda plain at times (and this might be good because it avoids unnecessary complexity) but in my opinion, much better than some popular animes of the moment. I feel it's very original, and stays as part of my top 10 manga/animes too.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD [Again - YUI]

This might be my favorite song. If I ever fall in a coma, try to wake me up with it, I'm sure it will work. I might be biased because this is the first anime I watched (when I didn't care about these kind of series) and I love it, and it's definitely my favorite (I was lucky to be gifted the first volume in japanese). The melody is calm and the lyrics are heart touching. FMA is a manga and anime you should add to your watch/read list without a doubt. Sharing short version of the song to find the channel of the artist.

BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA [The day - Porno Grafitti]

I will never regret being on the bus playing this song on my phone (with headphones) being seen by people who would think something about the name of the band (like listening to anime openings almost every day wasn't already a weird thing). None of the other songs of BNHA surpassed the greatness of this song IMO.

About it, even though it gets criticism I think it's a good story, and I feel it can be incredibly creative at times - there's a reason why it's so popular after all. I should also remark that it pays attention to a lot of characters, secondary or villains have good development (something that I haven't seen in other shonen or they fail to do it, and remember BNHA has A LOT of characters).

This story is definitely going to be long, I think it's close to reach its first half, expect probably 70 volumes or so.

NARUTO [Kanashimi Wo Yasashisa Ni - Little by Little]

Wait? WHAT? Did you really pick this opening over Silhouette? I mean, no offense to Silhouette and the fantastic band KANA-BOON, but I've listened to it so many times (best memes lol), and I already didn't have it as my favorite. There are other openings that I love (Naruto Shippuden this time): 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15 (Guren is the best one IMO), 16, 17, 20.

You didn't watch Naruto? Then what are you doing here? It's a must watch! It's a shonen with beautiful messages, inspiring characters, and this song probably embodies one positive vibe of the story - best part "the most important things are those without any shape".

PSYCHO PASS [Abnormalize - ling tosite sigure]

This anime is definitely in my favorite list, I feel it's the best seinen I've watched. Its manga is an adaptation, but the original story is the one that's animated. Some people say that season 2 and 3 aren't as good as the first and honestly it's hard to do something more brilliant than the incredible season 1, nonetheless you would miss the progress of the story and interesting characters if you only leave at the first one.

It reaches some philosophical thoughts that not all sci-fi can explore on the same way. Don't expect it to be an easy watch though - you better click pause to understand every dialogue.

SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN [Shinzou wo sasageyo - Linked Horizon]

Yeah, the first opening is AMAZING, but I might have a thing for 2nd openings. I must say that the synchronization of the scenes don't make justice for the melody of this song, though. Attack on Titan might reach the top 5 best shonen (is it shonen anyways?) anime/manga of all time.

I saw everyone talking about it and praising it, so I decided to watch the first episode and I couldn't get through it because of its disturbing art LMAO. My eye is accustomed to other kind of art, but I have to say I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. Good thing the second time I watched it I felt comfortable and discovered not only a mind-blowing story, but yeah, its animation is fantastic (take a peek at a few YT videos showing the process on the making of Levi's scenes). I only follow the manga to be updated, and I'm bad at recognizing characters, but you won't waste time or money by giving this one a chance.

THE PERFECT INSIDER [Talking - KANA BOON]

I tell you, this is a list of favorite openings, it doesn't mean I've watched all the anime, but I'm going to do it thanks to these fantastic songs, and KANA BOON deserved a mention. Also known as "Subete ga F ni Naru" this seinen anime is based on a novel.

Wasn't this anime already on the list? No, no it's not (?) I mean, HOW CAN'T I INCLUDE THIS ONE. Fantastic. I thought I wouldn't be able to fall in love with the new opening but after listening to it twice I couldn't get it off my mind. There's a reason, well deserved reason, why it got chosen for the Crunchyroll awards...

NEON GENESIS EVANGELION [Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze - Yoko Takahashi/Hidetoshi Sato]

Starts with an angelic voice to a disco-like rhythm, and it's without a doubt a fantastic song. This might be the most famous opening of anime. Pay attention or watch twice if you want to understand the story, though.

TOKYO GHOUL [Unravel - TK from ling tosite sigure]

If I'm in a coma and the song Again didn't work, then this one will wake me up FOR SURE. I love how it embodies the angst of the story, the tragedy, the bad luck of the protagonist. I recommend to read the manga instead of keeping too loyal to the anime - it's no surprise that SP messed up with the storytelling of another manga... Did I say how hard it must be to play it on the piano? Or even sing it?

"Mommyyyyyy!"

The yell coming from the living room made my lips curl and I  took my hand away slowly, looking up in her eyes. She chuckled and we left everything behind to walk to Chelsea who was searching through the dvds. I glanced back, not liking the fact that we didn't clean anything, but I tried to put my attention back on my daughter as she pulled on a movie, making a few others fall on the sides. She quickly turned to us, her messy hair flying around her face, and held out the dvd to her mom who took a step closer to grab it.

"It's movie time mommy!"

I noticed her face immediately change and I frowned as she looked back up and tilted her head, clearly torn and unsure of what to say.

"We normally watch a movie on Christmas morning." she just explained without sending me a glance. "You're welcome to watch it with us, if you want."

I slipped my hands in my pockets and nodded slowly, a bit unsure of what exactly was happening. All I knew was that this whole morning had changed me. I couldn't believe what being there with them made me feel, and at the same time, I couldn't really explain it. I wanted to stay, and I was happy when she proposed me to. I walked to the couch and took a seat right before Chelsea jumped next to me, making the whole couch shake. She leaned her head against the back of it, a large smile on her lips, as she looked at her mom put the dvd in.

I looked down at her and chuckled at her excitement before I noticed her shirt again. It was an old Ramones white shirt and it made my lips curl into a fond smile, this time. I didn't even look for it, I knew exactly where it was, and i didn't mind. It was not the only thing I forgot at her place and I didn't know if she kept the rest of my stuff but knowing this particular shirt survived through the years was endearing.

I remembered it was my go-to shirt during our lazy sundays, and even if i was always the one who'd put it on in the morning, she was always the one who ended wearing it during the afternoon. The first few times were coincidences, but after a while, I did it on purpose. I loved the way she looked in my clothes, but this shirt in particular meant lazy weekend sex and although it felt a bit weird to see it on a kid, it was also an incredible memory I cherished. And it suddenly hit me. That time we actually 'made' Chelsea was probably one of these mornings and seeing her wearing it now had an even deeper meaning.

"Have you ever listened to the Ramones?" I asked my daughter, grabbing the shirt between two fingers, near her shoulder, pinching it up slightly before letting it fall back.

She looked down at her shirt and then back up in my eyes, shaking her head slightly as she stared at me. For some reason, it made my heart twist and I sent her a smile.

"I didn't know what it meant." she admitted, tilting her head.

I chuckled low and licked my lips, bending down slightly.

"It's a good band." I explained.

She stared at me a bit longer and frowned.

"Are they on spotify?" she asked, making smile more. "Mommy and I, we have a playlist with our favorite songs."

"They are." I answered with a laugh.

The movie started and we both turned to the television. Chelsea let out a loud "Yes!" and I glanced at the dvd box on the coffee table. I felt my heart skip a beat when I read the title and licked my lips as a bunch of questions appeared in my mind. "Smallfoot" was clearly visible, even upside down, and when I finally looked up, my eyes met my ex girlfriend's. She sent me a shy smile before getting up and sitting on the other side of me. I didn't know why she didn't sit next to our daughter but I was too surprised by my daughter's movie choice to ask about it.

"It's Chelsea's favorite movie." she explained in a low tone. "Louis brought her to see it at the movies and when she came back, she begged for me to buy it."

I turned to her and noticed her lips curl immediately into a fond smile. I did the same and just nodded as I heard the movie play near us. Chelsea laughed and then talked with the characters, quoting them before laughing again.

"Did you tell her..."

"No." she cut me in a whisper. "I didn't tell her that her father wrote and sang a song in it. I just... I didn't know how."

I nodded slowly, not really surprised, but kept staring at her. She was close, almost too close, and I was suddenly aware of her arm and thigh pressed against mine. I cleared my throat and swallowed, trying to think about something else.

"For someone who doesn't like getting into other people’s business, it seems like Louis gets in ours a lot." I pointed out, making her laugh.

"Tell me about it." she agreed, raising her nose up in a grimace.

"Hush you two!"

We both jumped and turned to Chelsea who sent us an annoyed look, frowning at us. We waited until she turned back to the tv and looked back at each other, holding a laugh. I couldn't believe I was laughing with my ex girlfriend after so long and I enjoyed it more than I wanted to admit to myself.

"I'm gonna go wash the dishes, you can stay here with Chelsea." She murmured, getting up.

It only took me half a second to get up too and follow her to the kitchen. I glanced at Chelsea who was singing one of the songs in the movie and looked at the screen, smiling slightly. It was making me happy that my daughter enjoyed that movie, even if she didn't know her father had something to do with it.

I grabbed a towel and started drying the dished she finished washing. We remained silent, glancing at each other from time to time and trying to ignore it whenever our fingers would touch. It still felt electric, and I started thinking that if it was not from that big fat lie she managed to keep for five years, we could have a chance. This time, I wouldn't be so stubborn. This time, I would really give her all of me. The problem was that every time I thought about telling her how I felt, I remembered the fact that she robbed me from over four years with my own daughter, and that was something hard to forgive.

"So, that's what it would be like."

I turned to her, getting out of my own thoughts, and frowned. She sent me a sorry smile and tilted her head slightly as I put the towel on the counter, moving my body to face her without really realizing it. She did the same and leaned her hip against the counter, licking her lips. Her eyes met mine again and she sighed in a sad way, making my heart twist.

"That's what it would be like to be a family." she explained in a lower tone, as if she was ashamed. "You, me, and Chelsea."

I felt myself tear up at her words but swallowed my pain quickly, my eyes roaming quickly on her face. I hadn't thought about it but it was true, that's what our life would be like if we had gone through all of this together, as a family.

"Well right now we'd probably be with my family in Ireland, and we'd have a break at being parents because my mom would definitely take care of Chelsea and entertain her for as long as we'd be in her house." I added, smiling fondly at the thought. "And I'd lock the door of my old room and make love to you lazily on Christmas morning."

I watched her as her face changed and she held her breath, probably imagining it the same way I was. It was more of a memory from a few years back but somehow, I had the feeling it would be even better than it used to be. After a few seconds, she blinked a few times and took a step back as if she was trying to push away the thoughts, and me at the same time.

"Well, I guess we'll never know." she just said, turning her back to me and putting the clean dishes in the cabinets.

I watched her for about a minute but when she walked past me, I stopped her, putting myself in front of her and holding her arms gently. She didn't dare to look at me as I let my hands slide down until her hands before finally letting her go.

"I loved you, you know."

It was extremely hurtful to admit it out loud. I had spent years trying to convince myself I didn't have those type of feelings for her, and that losing her hadn't been the hardest shit I had to go through, but here I was now, admitting to her that what we had was more than a fling or some light infatuation. It was real, and she needed to know.

I was just not sure I was telling her for the good reason. Did I want her to know she broke me and that I would have done anything for her? Or did I just want to bring her into a guilt trip she may have deserved?

"I know I ruined it, Niall." she finally apologized in a whisper. "I know it's my fault. But I promise my intentions were good, at first. I didn't want you to give your dream up, and-and I thought you would resent Chelsea and I for holding you back. I-I thought you deserved to do what you like, and to become famous. I knew you were talented, I knew you were meant to succeed. I just... I didn't want us to be what would end it all."

No matter what my intentions were, I had managed to make her feel guilty, and for a reason I ignored, it made something stir in my stomach. Her words were genuine, and although the result was horrible, I knew she didn't mean wrong.

"It still hurt, you know." I pointed out, looking away. "When you wouldn't answer my phone calls and text messages I thought.. I thought it was the only way you found to let me know you didn't care about me, that you never really loved me."

I was bitter, I knew it, but I couldn't help thinking I had every right to be.

"I loved you." she quickly confessed, shutting her eyes tight. "I was... I was in love with you. And leaving you was torture. It was probably the most hurtful thing I had to do in my whole life."

There were so many things she didn't know, and I couldn't tell her. The words were stuck in my throat and I ended up trying to swallow them.

"I'm sorry we misunderstood each other so much that it ended up this way."

We remained silent for a few minutes and I finally sighed, closing my eyes for a while and finally opening them again.

"There's some sort of funfair, for Christmas." I explained, nibbling on my bottom lip. "There are games and shows and it ends with fireworks."

It seemed to take her an incredible amount of courage but she turned her head my way and her lips curled a bit.

"Yea, it's okay, you can bring Chelsea."

My heart was heavy when we looked at each other and I licked my lips, nodding.

"Thanks, but I thought we could all go. The three of us."

HER

I was sorry too, so fucking sorry that it all ended up like this. So fucking sorry that I cheated him of so many memories and time with his daughter. So fucking sorry that I made him think I didn't love or care about him. So fucking sorry that what I thought was the right choice turned out to be a fucking big mistake.

When he proposed we'd go all together, I felt guilty and almost refused, but the way he looked at me brought into me a sensation I hadn't felt in a really long time, one I didn't think i'd ever feel again.

I wanted to be close to him, I wanted to know if he could forgive me one day, and I was ready to do anything to get it.

For once, Chelsea and I were ready on time and when the doorbell ranf on the next afternoon, we both rushed to the door. I was glad my daughter hadn't asked any question about Niall, because I wouldn't have known what to answer. I didn't want to lie to her but at the same time, I wasn't ready to tell her who he really was, and I think he wasn't ready either. Besides, i felt like he deserved to be there when she would find out

The door swung open and Niall's eyes met mine before a surprised expression appeared on his face. He looked good, his hands in his pockets and a long scarf around his neck. He was wearing a beanie and I couldn't stop my heart from skipping a beat. He was dressed casually and It made me feel better for dressing up the same.

"Wow, you guys are ready?" he asked, an amused smile appearing on his lips. "If my memory serves me good, it's not in your DNA to be on time."

I raised my nose in a grimace but sent him a smile, knowing he was right and that I clearly couldn't defend myself. Chelsea rushed to Niall and wrapped her arms around his leg. The look on his face was priceless as he looked down at her, holding his breath in. I was endeared by his reaction and I took a step back to give them more space, even if it was useless.

It was not surprising from Chelsea to hug people, but I could see Niall hadn't expected it at all. When she pulled away, he quickly crouched to her level and sent her a genuine smile that she returned.

"So, Chelsea, are you ready?"

She nodded quickly, her eyes getting bigger with excitement.

"And, is your mommy ready too?"

With a glance at me, she quickly looked back at Niall and nodded again, jumping slightly, barely containing her enthusiasm.

The car ride was quite short and we ended up walking in the streets alongside other people trying to enjoy the fair. The first thing Chelsea asked for were fries but after eating a few, she handed the rest to me and begged for a ride on a carousel.

Niall and I leaned against the fence, both of our phones out, taking pictures every time she would pass in front of us. We hadn't really talked much, and with the discussion we had the day before, I was scared it would become awkward between us.

"Chelsea really likes you." I finally just said, waving back at our daughter again.

"She's incredible." he simply answered, not looking at me. "I know It may sound crazy, but I started loving her as soon as I found out she was my daughter."

I felt my lips curl, understanding the feeling a bit too much. Niall was going to be an amazing father, and I swallowed the guilt invading me once again.

"D'you think it's crazy?" he asked, turning to me, his arms crossed on the top of the metal fence.

His eyes seemed to shine and I shook my head slightly, sending him a smile. I moved a bit closer to him and tilted my head, my hair falling on both our arms.

"No, not at all." I admitted in a whisper.

I felt his fingertips brush gently on top of my hand and hold my breath, staring back at him. These moments seemed to happen so often between us that it was starting to drive me insane. Were we cursed to feel that way around each other forever without being able to get anything more? Was I going to lose him a second time? Once again, by my fault?

"I'm amazed that we actually created... her..."

He sighed and looked down, lost in his thoughts, but all I could focus on was the shivers that ran all over my back as his fingers still grazed on my skin. I wanted to answer, but I just didn't know what to say. He looked back up in my eyes and i licked my lips.

"It's a part of you, and a part of me, and now we will always be linked, you know?" he added, this time taking my hand in his and turning his body gently in my direction.

I nodded again, trying in vain to calm the beatings of my heart. He was close again, so fucking close I could feel his warm breath on my face, and I desperately wanted him to kiss me. I wanted to find out if he tasted the same way he used to, if our lips fit together as well as they used to.

He smiled at me and sighed, finally taking a step back, and watching him back away broke my heart. I tried not to show it but it hurt more than a slap in the face. I don't know what I was expecting anyway. Niall and I have been over for years, and although we had both admitted that what we had back then was real, it didn't mean the love we both felt for each other was still alive. The fact that I lied to him probably didn't help things, and I couldn't blame him for wanting to focus on Chelsea. But I was scared. I was scared to fall in love with him again, and realize that he didn't have these feelings for me anymore. I was scared to see him with an other girl, to suffer from having him so close without being able to really be with him. I was scared I could never find someone else like him, someone I would love as hard and as deeply as I loved him.

"Mommy! It was so cool!"

We both turned to watch our daughter step down from the carousel and run to us. She grabbed my hand with both of hers and shook it hard, making me laugh.

"I want to go again! Please!"

I laughed again but Niall quickly bent down to look in her eyes and answered before me.

"There are many more rides to try, do you want to try this one?"

He pointed behind her and we both looked at the ride with hot-air balloons of different colors that seemed to fly. Chelsea's eyes got bigger and she turned back to Niall, nodding quickly and making him laugh. She grabbed his hand and pulled him with her as I followed them, eating a cold fry.

When Chelsea was sitting in the ride, Niall stood next to me, one of his hands in his pocket as he dug his free one in the punnet i was still holding, grimacing when he noticed how cold the fries were.

"She's so happy to be here." I pointed out after throwing the rest of the foor in the nearest trash can.

"I'm happy too." he pointed out. "I'm happy we're all here together."

I sent him a fond smile. He didn't have to add me, but he did, and it meant more to me than I could explain. I tried to push away the fears threatening to invade my mind again. I had to take it day by day, or else I was going to drive myself crazy.

After winning a pink unicorn for Chelsea in a game, Niall brought us near the river. I held Chelsea's hand tight in mine, a bit scared to lose her in the mob of people surrounding us. I noticed she had gripped Niall's hand too and it made me smile. I felt like things would be easier now that i knew she liked him.

Niall crouched down again and immediately, Chelsea gave him all her attention.

"The fireworks are about to start." he pointed out. "Do you want to get on my shoulders?"

I saw her lips curl and she nodded slowly, waiting for his next move. He placed his hands under her arms and pulled her up easily, moving her so she straddles his neck. She held herself on his head and it made me laugh. His hand grabbed her legs and her head moved back to look at the sky. I felt like a simple witness of a new relationship growing right in front of me and i loved it, every seconds of it. I took my phone out of my pocket and took a picture of them together just as the fireworks started. My lips parted when I looked at the picture, barely believing I got to take a picture like that, especially with a phone. I sent it to Niall quickly and started a video to keep a memory of this moment.

I had no idea how i managed to stay so far away from Niall for so long, but having him around in the past two days had made me feel happy in a way I thought I never would again, and seeing him so kind, patient and sweet with Chelsea was an incredible bonus I hadn't expected. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't hide my pregnancy to him. It brought more bad than good. Unfortunately, it was impossible to start over, and I would never find out what would have happened between Niall and I. We could still save the relationship between Niall and Chelsea, and I intended to do anything I could do to make this work. Chelsea deserved a father like Niall, and Niall deserved to be in his daughter's life. I just hoped that somehow, somewhere, there was also a place for me.

You currently lived in Varenga, a pretty large town, popular among tourists, and a place where quite a few people live, humans and irregulars alike.

Although most people dislike irregulars, they find them revolting and don't take the fact that they were once human into consideration.

Most people won't accept the fact that irregulars are naturally stronger than normal humans, some people still believe that they are all superior compared to irregulars, seeing them as a lower being.

You on the other hand, despite being raised to hate them you believe that it is wrong to judge someone, for who they are or how they appear especially when they used to be just like you, human.

You were raised in Varenga but ended up moving away when you were a few years old, parents had work and had to move towns.

You eventually came back when you were able to pay your own bills.

You now worked in the local museum in town, it was mostly a museum that had things and information on the town's history, dating back to when the town was first built to the current day.

You found it quite interesting.

You were currently in the town's library, you didn't have a shift today so you had the day to yourself.

Most of the time you came here to read more about Irregulars, to learn more.

Hearing movement behind you, you brushed it off, you knew people came to this library pretty often just as you did so it wasn't surprising for someone to be moving around in the bookshelves behind you.

A pair of hands slammed down on your shoulders after a moment causing you to jump and quickly suck in a breath.

Turning to look at who had spooked you recognizing them as one of your friends, Amon.

He was an Irregular.

You seemed to get along better with Irregulars than with other people.

You gave a smile while he chuckled and took the seat beside you, resting his arms on his legs, his body facing towards you while he bird skull cane was leaning against his chair; he didn't necessarily need a cane he just liked having one.

"Reading up on Irregulars again huh?"

He asked, one of his long horns... Er... Ears twitched while his cat-like pupils moved a bit while they studied you.

You were never sure if those were a pair of horns or if they were a pair of long cat ears, though he did have a long demon-like tail and small wings meaning it isn't impossible for them to be horns but it didn't explain how they could move like a cat's ears.

"Yeah, just trying to learn as much as I can-"

You replied before quickly adding more to your response.

"-Not that what you tell me isn't enough! It's just that my parents weren't too fond of... Well... You... No offense. So I never got to learn much growing up."

"No offense taken Sweets."

Amon replied with a grin, exposing his lines of sharp teeth. He always called you by some kind of nickname, you found it cute.

"So, I know you didn't come here just to hang out or maybe you did, but you most likely have something to tell me."

You said after a moment of silence and he gave a simple nod to that.

"Yeah, you know that guy I was talking about?"

Amon asked followed by a slight tilt of his head.

"The guy you said is practically death himself?"

"Mhm! He finally agreed to meeting you."

He replied and you were quiet for a moment.

"But I never agreed to meeting him-"

You started but Amon interrupted you.

"Ah ah ah, I know, but you did say you wanted to meet this guy that me and the others kept talking about."

"Should I... Go home and pack my things?"

You asked about to stand up though you were pushed back down into your seat by your shoulder, Amon pulling his hand back to rest on his leg once again.

"Nope, Dugal and Sauda are packing your things for you, Sauda is packing your clothes, don't worry. Dugal is getting the things we know you would want to bring."

He replied, you gave a nod before closing your book, getting up from your seat and returning the book to its shelf before following Amon to his car; he was going to take you back to your place where Dugal and Sauda were.

Oppo F15 brandishes the conventional checklist parameters like the 48MP AI Quad Camera, VOOC Flash Charge 3.0, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. And once again OPPO reiterates style as its pitch with a “Flaunt It Your Way” tagline. However since its 2020 and the market is highly competitive where every other phone looks up to snuff, we all crave a consummate proposition. After all, if you spend money, you want the money’s worth, right?

Over the course of using the Oppo F15 as my daily driver, I have raked in some thoughts which will address this concern. So, without slacking any time, let’s get to the Oppo F15 review. By the end, you’ll hopefully know whether it packs the required punch for the price you pay.

Oppo F15 Review: Build, Design and Display

The phone comes in 2 color choices viz. Lightening Black and Unicorn White. Ours was the latter one. It looks like a block of flavored ice or marble, which elicits attention.

Due to its polycarbonate build and slim profile, it’s quite wieldy. The buttons on either side are easily reachable and they offer a good response. And it’s always pleasant to see a USB Type-C socket and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The facade is as familiar as one could get with a teeny waterdrop notch and mild margins engulfing the display. That said, I felt Oppo could’ve trimmed a little black off the chin. But overall, cheers to the design dynamics.

Coming to the display, the 6.4-inch AMOLED panel is impressive, be it in terms of color attributes, viewing angles, so on and so forth. Both in and outdoors, I enjoyed reading on this screen. A fingerprint reader sits beneath the screen which works quite well. Lastly, the phone’s DRM L1 certified which means you can immerse yourself into an ocean of high-res OTT content.

Oppo F15 Review: Performance

For some weird reason, F15 bears an antique MediaTek chip. Gee Oppo, using a chip of yore is a bore. Especially, when you can get another P70 phone for half the price or even less.

The oldie runs as you would expect, bolstered by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The experience is, even more, marred by the ColorOS. It’s still Android 9 and TBH, Oppo’s skin job on Google’s vision for Android is definitely not my taste. Can’t cut slack to late Android updates, the convoluted mess of the settings menu, and over 20 junk apps. Seriously, you would find three browsers and similar bloat, which begs the question – Why? Overall, it’s jarring, outdated and outmoded. If you’re wondering the whereabouts of ColorOS 7, sadly F15 has got no mention in the announced timeline.

Having let off so much steam, it’s time for the good things now. Yea, even with all the gripes, the Oppo F15 handled the day-to-day activities like Instagramming, Spotifying, Netflixing, and Googling with no fuzz. As for the gamers out there, this ain’t a heavy-lifter. You need not raise your hopes up. But, its Okie dokie for casual gameplay. In my sessions, PUBG and Asphalt 9 ran fine under HD settings or medium graphics.

The Oppo F15 boasts a 48MP quartet as mentioned already. Its given company by an 8MP, ultrawide cum macro, 2MP monochrome, and a 2MP depth module at the fag end. Since we are talking specs, the selfie snapper is a 16MP unit.

Before we gaze at the shots, let’s skim through the camera app interface. After using several Oppo and Realme phones, I’ve got accustomed to the UI. And even a new user can easily get a hang of the app. It covers all the bases and the options are at your fingertips. The ultrawide toggle, HDR, filters, lighting, and the general settings are placed atop. To the bottom, you have the Photo, Video, Portrait, and the miscellaneous ones bundled in a hamburger menu. Mind you, there’s no dedicated 48MP mode, however. Humph!

I can’t upload this on Instagram or WhatsApp due to the dearth of details.

In good lighting conditions, the snaps come out just fine, with a decent amount of details and natural colors. Having said that, there are issues like unnecessary artificial sharpening and a scanty dynamic range. Toggling Dazzle mode brings out brighter saturated snaps, but at the cost of the texture. The shutter speed is prompt. I wish I could say the same about autofocus. The ultrawide snapper substitutes for Macro mode too. Good! But, there is no manual toggle and when you go close-up, the auto-detection felt kinda spotty. Also, the details and sharpness are lost on the edges of ultrawide shots. Bad!

At the end of the day, low-lit and night photography also matters. A phone camera shouldn’t stop you from soaking the moments after dusk. Using the dedicated Night mode, the photos get higher exposure at the expense of noticeable noise. But it does not add any extra life to the photos. Therefore, in most cases under sufficient lighting, I preferred point and shoot without turning on the Night mode.

As for the selfies, they are softened making you appear plasticky. The portrait mode does add some details and depth to the subject with some rim blurs here and there. Even the face unlocking works alright, albeit with some lighting and angle adjustments.

In the case of videography, the primary camera lets you shoot stabilized FHD videos at 30FPS. However, don’t expect any miracle here. Tip: Ensure a good amount of light for optimum results.

Let me say this forthright – the 4000mAh offers a satisfactory mileage. You see that’s a genuinely liberating feeling to have. And when the phone asks for the charge, fill the tank using the in-box 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charger. It takes approx half-past an hour to go full.

There’s a mono grille that does a fine job in terms of loudness. Rest, there isn’t much to speak on the sound output. BTW, Bluetooth 5.0 is an absence worth noting.

Oppo F15 Review Verdict: Should you Buy?

Oppo chose a dog and pony show for the F15 launch, which might have curbed some of the enthusiasm, to begin with. Look F15 is definitely dressed to kill, but the MediaTek P70 chip turns out to be a buzzkill. It seems as if while putting together the phone recipe, Oppo missed the core ingredient. If you’re particular about gaming, anything with Snapdragon 730, 730G or even MediaTek’s G90T would serve you better.

Thus, Oppo F15 misses the OPPOrtunity to be a well-rounded sub-20k phone. In light of its uneven price to performance ratio, you may consider alternatives like the Realme X2, Redmi K20, Redmi Note 8 Pro, etc instead – which are all online-first phones.

If you prefer buying from offline stores, the OPPO F15 makes a lot more sense and is worth considering.

This playlist is one of my favourites, I found Banfi on concert in Prague, actually it was concert of Lake Malawi releasing their album Surrounded by Light. The Kooks are one of my fav band ever, so Arctic Monkeys are. Cigarette Daydreams by Cage the Elephants reflects amazingly my after break up period in my life two years ago. Coasts - the british band, I discovered thanks to my friend at concert in Prague last year. Wombats just perfectly combines all of that together. and Paris and Maryland by Lake Malawi - Czech pop-indie-rock band is kind of signature songs from time, when I was alone in Prague, long-distance relationship and long walks around Prague with my thoughts. The Kooks jsou moje nejoblíbenější kapela, to samé Arctic Monkeys - takže tyhle dvě kapely v mých playlistech nemůžou chybět. Dále pokračujeme Cage the Elephants, které pro mě symbolizují porozchodový čas před dvěma lety - sakra důležitý období v mým seberozvoji. No a završují to Wombats, Lake Malawi a Coasts, do kterých jsem se zamilovala v Rock Café v Praze před rokem a kousek, kam mě vzal kamarád jako akreditovaný press na vyzkoušení si fotit koncertový fotky. Lake Malawi je česká pop-indie-rock kapela, která má potenciál tvořit svou hudbu na světové úrovni - proto je nyní můžeš podpořit v hlasování na Eurovision (jak na to se dovíš u nich na oficálním instagramu v odkazu v biu nebo hlasuj zde). Jejich Paris a Maryland songy ve mě vyvolávají vzpomínky na procházky po Praze, kde jsem žila sama, ve vztahu na dálku a Honza mi moc chyběl.

This one was meant to be for listening to fall asleep - for me perfect. However, the first song might be a little bit distracting :) Third song by Alex Turner and his Glass in the Park, originally made for the Submarine movie - aww his voice, his lyrics, the music, so calming so sweet…it just caresses my soul. The rest of the songs will take you to your Dreamland very quickly. Calm and relaxing music, nice slow voices joining the whole atmosphere and inviting to fall asleep or just balance your mind and think about something nice. My fav is Particles, Avatar Music and the song from Harry Potter - looove how smooth and touching this music is.

Tento playlist je hlavně myšlený jako spešl playlist na usínání - nebo alespoň na mě funguje. I když se vám může zdát, že první song se trochu vymyká a je tak trošku “jiný”…hned mu přijdete na chuť. Třetí píseň od Alexe Turnera a jeho Glass in the Park, pocházející ze soundtracku k filmu The Submarine. Jeho hlas, texty a hudba vás pohladí. Zbytek písniček vás zaručeně vezmou do říše snů. Hodně klidná hudba a pomalý zpěv přímo lákají do toho se zamyslet, zrelaxovat se a pomalu a klidně usnout. Moje oblíbený jsou Particles, hudba z Avatara a soundtrack z Harryho Pottera - to je srdcovka.

Awww each song is so nicely done. Great background music for each situation - if you are home cooking, you´ve got friends at your place, going shopping or just walking somewhere…I kind of like this playlist for anything. Alabama Shakes is American band with distinctive and soulful rock, and voice of the lead singer is something magical. Second song by London Grammar - I´ve discovered this trio because of Dior J´adore commercial and since then I looove them - very moody, but so good. Phoenix and their French indie-pop won´t let you calm :) Coldplay and their Midnight is such a masterpiece for thinking or creating, and last song by The Veils - Swimming in the Crocodiles is just right full stop for this music session.

Aaa každý song z tohoto playlistu je prostě super! Hudba se hodí jako podkresová pro každou příležitost - hodí se domů, pokud si jen tak jste a nebo vaříte, nebo máte kamarády na návštěvě, nebo zrovna někam jdete. Já tenhle soundtrack poslouchám kdykoliv se mi zachce. Americká kapela Alabama Shakes vás očaruje svým odlišným stylem a zpěvaččin hlas je něco naprosto božskýho. Po nich nastupuje London Grammar, bristké trio, které jsem objevila díky reklamě na Dior parfém J´adore a od té doby je miluju. Jsou hodně deep, ale moc dobrý. Phoenix a jejich francouzský indie-pop se synťákama vás rozhodně nenechají v klidu :) Další následuje Midnight od Coldplay, což je pro mě osobně skvělý song na rozdmýchání myšlení a kreativitu. Poslední song od The Veils je jen dokonalou tečkou za touhle hudební smrští.

Joe McAdam - busker from Christmas markets and his calming voice is amazing for the soul. After this song you´ve got a chance to listen to his girlfriend Ellysse - very talented and beautiful aswell…check them on SPOTIFY :) ♥ Stu Larsen is our all-time fav mate, traveler, photographer, musician - if you don´t know his music…hurry up and listen to his lyrics and amazing guitar game. Eddie Vedder composed this music for soundtrack for INTO THE WILD movie…both as movie so as soundtrack is one of my fav music. Ryan Adams has re-made Wonderwall originally by Oasis into something different, but soo pleasing :) Roo Panes is a band with very charismatic leading singer - ladies :) but his voice is as charming as his appearance :)

Máme tu poslední playlist, plný skvělých umělců, kteří si zaslouží trochu lásky ♥ Tady jsem se více soustředila na výběr spíše akustické hudby. Každý song má krásný text a uvede vás do skvělého rozpoložení. Blushes jsme objevili s Honzou tady v MCR v Jimmy´s klubu. Je to jediná výjimka s elektrickými kytarami a synťákem :) Dalším je Joe McAdam, busker, který mi prodal svoje CDéčko na vánočních trzích, jeho hlas je neuvěřitelně uklidňující. Hned po něm si můžete poslechnout jeho talentovanou a krásnou přítelkyni -Ellysse. Určitě na oba mrkněte na Spotify :) ♥Stu Larsen nám sedí lidsky, je to cestovatel, fotograf a skvělej muzikant. Pokud neznáte jeho hudbu - tak si ho prosím poslechněte :) jeho texty vám přímo budou mluvit z duše a na kytaru válí :) Nádherný písničky k filmu Into the Wild, složil Eddie Vedder - a jak soundtrack, tak film stojí za pozornost :) Pokud máte rádi Wonderwall od Oasis, tak se vám zaručeně bude líbit i jak tuhle klasiku předělal Ryan Adams :) V neposlední řadě bych se ráda zmínila o kapele Roo Panes, jejichž zpěvák je krásný, ale stejně charizmatický je i jeho hlas.
