u ever think about how andrew has never been alone? going from group homes, to foster families, to juvie. to tilda and aaron, to nicky and aaron, to palmetto with kevin and neil. his deal with kevin means he, too, essentially has the raven partner system introduced to him up until kevin enrolls in the university and starts classes. and then neil too - jean says in tsc they’re never out of each others orbits for long. he’s never been alone, even when he has been; there’s always been people there talking to each other, filling the air, to the point where he has to break on to the roof for a few minutes piece and quiet. and even then, when neil joins palmetto, he starts joining andrew on the roof (even if they sit in silence he’s still not alone). makes me wonder how he’d react to graduating and having a place to himself for the first time. would it be a relief or would the silence set him on edge?

hey this isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but I’m saying it for the record here: if I tell you no, please stop messaging me about fundraisers and mutual aid.

I get enough messages that it’s impossible for me to keep up without devoting at least half an hour each day, when I’m not even on tumblr that long most days. Me having a boundary about this isn’t a moral failing, it’s a lifeboat for me on my own blog.

In my personal life I’m already advocating and donating literally as much as I can spare. This is not me not caring, it’s just me not willing to interact with that on the one place I go online to not interact with irl news and world events for the most part.

I cannot be upset all the time. I cannot be upset everywhere. I cannot use all my emotional and mental energy fielding my own upset from ongoing events. My options are to hold boundaries about this or stop coming online at all.

I’m all for sharing information and signal boosting to reasonable extents, but the scale of it this year is so large and so enduring that it is literally not possible to for me to participate on every account I have. I’ve previously shared links to Gaza eSIM donations and a major hub of verified Go Fund Mes here and elsewhere online. We, the online humans, know how to look those things up ourselves by now. There are many, many people choosing to do advocacy work, and right now, I can’t be one of them.

If you’re extremely upset when I tell you I can’t share/donate right now about a Gaza family or personal fundraiser you ask me to share here, just unfollow and block me. That’s what those buttons are for. Protect your own emotions and energy and get me off your feed instead of staying upset and continuing to engage with online people or content that upsets you.

Please don’t send repeated angry messages based on manufactured purity politics and moral outrage into my messages and inbox when I exercise the right to run my own blog.

#and on that note #I also think some people need to sit down and ask themselves #if their old end times anxieties and fears and preparations and word spreading #haven’t filtered straight into a new non religious end of society and end of modern world order anxiety that they’re pushing on other peopl #even if it is the end times #you cannot change that by beating your own anxieties into other people’s heads #people can care MORE when they are GIVEN ROOM TO BREATHE #first rule of sustainable activism is you can’t do it constantly and you can’t push it on people constantly #you have to pace it and you have have have have HAVE to play long games #short term activism burns you out and if it leads to full despair from burnout it can get you killed via depression #it’s not a joke #there’s a reason your elders have books and community lore about healthy activism even in times of crisis #they lived it. they learned from it. learn from them.#spend your time doing things that can make real impacts.#do little things online but unless you’re an actual information hub you shouldn’t be posting constantly about it #people won’t even want to follow you anymore eventually because that’s not why they followed you #and then you have no audience for your important message anyway.#I know this. anyone else try to casually (lol) rewatch bad buddy only to get completely clobbered over the head by the fantasy sequence in ep 11 answering pat’s question in ep 6: ““Have you ever pictured what it’d be like if our parents didn’t fight?” one of the only fantasy sequences, ie the depiction of something that did not actually happen in canon, in the series? the most strategic delay of the most indulgent and heartbreaking moment that never happened and never will? the reveal that the ultimate shared fantasy between pat and pran is being openly in love and out of the closet and seated specifically at dissaya’s table with her eating the meal she made? the impossible “what if we could change the world?” appended to the tail end of their not-so-neverending honeymoon’s impossible “what if the world could change us?” one last fairytale indulgence before reality clamps down swift around them and they’re staring at each other, pran misty-eyed and tears rolling down pat’s face, in front of the gates of their respective family homes, about to put on their break up routine for their parents???? stronger and harder and braver thanks to their love and “we can’t change the world but the world can’t change us,” after they show us how soft and easy, thanks to their love, they could have been?? (tim robinson voice) has this ever happened to you??

the fact that i immediately landed an awesome job right out from graduation but then got covid in august and now my brain doesn't work right and i might lose my job because of it . there's a funny joke in here somewhere maybe

#txt #haha. like. how lucky was i to get this job. and unlucky to get sick and have my brain fucked over #also a loss of time perception. time does not move for me it feels like 7am still and its 10am #i feel like i got lobotomized. brainfog and much less of a filter of what i say/do and fatigue etc #shortness of breath when im stressed too. fucking annoying #i keep fucking up on the simplest tasks at work. literally filled out a simple form wrong that i've been doing right since day 1 #and my supervisor is patient and i tried explaining brainfog but idt she takes it seriously and she gets more annoyed the more i screw up #and like. i need this job!!!!!!!!!!! it pays disgustingly well!!!!!! but if i cant do simple tasks right anymore then what am i even doing #ive had this stuff since late august but its so much worse suddenly and i dont know why :((#to be deleted /#<- if i can even remember i made this post at all LOL someone shoot me
