For every 🎵 I get I'll post a song I associate with my muse!

mmm the whole song Busts for ellis but i like it for him overall because basket case has always been like. a song acknowledging that you are not well & going insane but not wanting to inflict those feelings on anyone else. so instead, he just accepts that his mind is going to put him through it & doesn't always take it as seriously as he should??? while still very much affecting him ( note, i also like brain stew as an ellis song for the same reason. mental illness doesn't go away just because you don't want to talk about it! ) also the energy of the song is just very Ellis.

i feel like this applies even outside of when he's struggling - he doesn't want to inflict the extent on his feelings on anyone who isn't ready to handle them. he does any way, often, whether or not he means to. but there is still that instinct to pull away when he would rather be sincere. he usually gives away his emotions or mental state on accident because he isn't great at hiding how he feels but the sentiment of wanting to is still absolutely there

i lovvvee harley poe so, so much. i have to preface that harley poe has been one of my longterm favorite artists, since high scool or so??? i like this song bcs in tough situations, though ellis does make poor decisions & has to grapple with the consequences he still has to suck it up. his mental health might dip & rise like the tide but he can't just ignore his responsibilities, his goals, the things he uses to help manage those highs & lows. it's not always easy! it doesn't mean he's not angry or sad or happy or anything else! it just means he isn't going to go down without a fight. he's not going to lay down & die willingly, even if everything in him begs him to do so.

this is like. one of my go-to songs for ellis. his whole life he has thought he was too much. a liability in one way or another, dreaming of the next thing he can do to change that. though he defies the concept on principal, there is still this train of thought that follows him constantly. is he worth it? is he worth the ups & downs, the misunderstandings, the perceived difficulty he thinks lies in staying close to him. he knows some people will pull back, he has come to expect it, but he still craves connection quite desperately. when he snaps at people, he knows he is pushing them away & it's often preemptive, because he feels like he is going to be a temporary novelty to enjoy & then be cast aside. it's honestly where a lot of his paranoia lies also?? he is not a consistent person. he is stubborn & short tempered & defensive. but he is also loyal & determined & wild. it's just a matter of balancing whether or not the 'good' is worth the 'bad' & he often expects that it won't be.

The Ouran Host Club welcomes a Little! Guest Headcanons.

[Gender Neutral Pronouns Used. Trying my best to stay neutral so it fits for any regression age/experience.]

Tamaki Suoh:

Tamaki would be so excited to find out he had a little one as his guest. What's not to like? He'd get to pay them extra attention, spoil them with gifts and all sorts of things. He'd be the host to choose if you want to feel like the spotlight is on you!

He loves to be so over the top and extravagant. He'd have little tea parties with you, and of course, he'd go all out. He'd make little menus for the guests at your tea party, have the teas and orderves catered for you, and of course: use very beautifully painted plastic china [just so there's no accidents or nothing breaks!]

He calls you every nickname under the sun, but he loves flower names! "Rose/Rosey" "Lavender/Lav/Lavvy" "Sunflower/Sunny." He just sees you as a beautiful flower to be treasured forever, and his nicknames for you represent that. But of course, there's always "Princess/Prince/Monarch," those are classics.

He'd be so indulgent if you liked to play games. He'd make sure he knew whatever you were in the mood to play, and if the other hosts were playing too, he made sure they knew your rules, too.

"No, Haruhi! The little one is playing Littlest Pet Shops." He turns to you, asking if he may move where you've placed them, and after receiving a nod from you, he holds a few up to Haruhi. "This is Daisy, and she works at the café. Jaime and Adeline are here customers. And these dogs over here are all a friend group, and they're at the park, because they've already had their lunch, you see?" [He's so into whatever his baby is. Agh, I love him.]

Tamaki likes to give you a rattle, if you're very little. Or, if you're a bit older, a toy that makes noise, or a loud fidget toy, whatever you may like to keep you occupied. He likes to know where you are. The music room is large, especially with all the guests that come in there. He could lose his little one! And he can't have that.

Piano Lullabies before bed/naptimes. And if you feel like it, he'd give you piano lessons as well. He'd let you sit on his lap to learn, and put your hands on top of his to learn the keys!

Kyoya Ootori:

His initial reaction to having a little guest would be one of confusion, and perhaps a bit of fear? He's heard of age regression, but doesn't exactly understand the technicalities of it quite well. He'd be afraid that he may mess up, or make you upset by accident, and that's the last thing he wants. He asks Tamaki for advice before feeling more comfortable.

Kyoya would be a more quiet, and laid back caregiver. He'd love to give you activity sheets that fit well for your regression age: whether they be preschool activity sheets or complicated word puzzles, he believes in helping you learn while having fun. But he won't just simply sit you down with a worksheet. No, he makes them himself. If you have a comfort character, or favorite colors, he keeps those things in mind when making them for you! He also will sit and help you do it while guiding you through each step. He loves bonding over the things he makes for you.

Kyoya would have more traditional nicknames: "Sweetheart." "Dear/Dearest." "My lovely [name]" "My Little Lady, My Little Gentleman, My Littlest One."

Kyoya would not be good at playing, I don't think. His hidden talent is that he's very, very good at reading you stories. The way he tells them makes you feel like you could reach out, and touch the events the words of the pages are unfolding. His favorite book to read of all? Alexander and The Wind Up Mouse, only to be tied with Chrysanthemum. Both of which are the books he reads best, too.

"The next day," Kyoya read as he snuggled his little closer to him. "Chrysanthemum took the longest route to school. She dragged her feet in the dirt... Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum..." Kyoya filled each time her name was mentioned with dread, including a sigh on the end each time to show the weight of the scene. He looks down at you before he continues. "Don't worry..." He smiles. "I think she'll feel better soon. Shall we find out together, dearest?"

Kyoya has a very good singing voice. He'll sing you a love song or a lullaby to calm you after a hard day. Or, he also loves to comb your hair to help you relax if you're okay with that.

Haruhi Fujioka:

Haruhi's initial reaction to finding out a little guest had chosen her would be shock. She's perfectly capable of taking care of a little one, and she regresses herself too. She'd especially understand if you regressed out of stress, or as a trauma response. No matter the circumstances though, I feel like she'd be a good person to handle a little one!

Haruhi would like to do things with you her mother did with her growing up. She'd love to teach you how to bake cookies, or make simple meals. She'd love to give you classic toys if you were younger [a yoyo, a teddy bear, building blocks, one of those things where you drop the shape in the right hole, a ring stacker.] She'd have a much more simplistic approach. She likes to keep you off screens, [minus your comfort shows/games] though. She feels like littles have enough of that in their big lives.

She calls you petnames like "Baby Girl/Baby Boy/Babycakes." She also likes the nickname "cookie."

Haruhi would be okay at engaging in what you wanted to do. I feel like it would depend for her. The littler you were, the harder it would be for her to engage. Even though she regresses very young herself, she had to grow up super fast, so in her big headspace, she cannot comprehend how to begin playing with toys. However, if you were doing something like playing a game, she'd understand that, and try to help you! She'd be good no matter what if you were frustrated, though.

"You want me to play?" Haruhi asks as she sits on the floor with you, and looks at what you're doing. "I'm so sorry, cookie... I don't really know how to play all that well... Oh, it's blocks? Let me see." After explaining your problem, Haruhi understands. "Ah, I see! You're building the tower too high without a strong base! That's why it won't stay up." She explains. "Here, want to try building it that way to see if it works? I'm here with you..."

If you are a fussy little, you've come to the right place. Haruhi wins out of everyone here for the best to deal with tantrums, fussiness, etc. She'll sit with you and comfort you until you're better. She has lots, and lots of patience, and would never rush your feelings.

Hikaru & Kaoru Hitachiin:

I feel like their reaction to having a little guest would be sweet. They'd see it as an opportunity to make a new friend, and they're a bit childish themselves! I feel like they'd both really enjoy it! I see them as big sibling CGs.

They're the trademark bad influence CGs. They'd help you play [innocent] pranks on the rest of the host club. They'd be laughing about how you made Tamaki sit on a whoopee cushion for weeks. They train you to be their little apprentice in mischief.

They call you lots of gender neutral petnames! "Pumpkin." "Cutie-Pie." "Kiddo." "Snuggle Bug/Bugaboo." "Troublemaker."

They may be full of jokes, but they're serious when it comes to protecting you from what you're afraid of. They don't like for anything to scare their little partner in crime.

A loud burst was suddenly heard across the host club. You whipped your head to see what it was. It was a balloon that they had for The Host Club's party. It had gotten too close to the chandelier, and burst. You started to tear up and cry at the sudden loud noise.

"Oh, little one..." Kaoru says, covering your ears gently and taking you somewhere quiet. "It's okay," he covers your ears just enough so you can still hear the two of them.

"Yeah, bugaboo. There are no balloons in here. We'll make sure one doesn't pop near you again." Hikaru reassured them gently.

They're the best at teaching you about problem solving. They give you accommodations for yourself and solutions you never once thought of. The kind that provokes yourself to take care of yourself in the ways they do.

Takashi Morinozuka

His reaction would be outwardly stoic [as it is to just about everything.] He'd actually be kind of excited at the familiarity of the situation, and hopeful that perhaps Honey can have a playmate.

He's the strict caregiver of the group. He'd make sure you had enough to eat, drink, that you had taken your necessary medicines if you needed any. He'd also keep one eye on you to make sure you weren't doing anything that may potentially hurt you.

He's not good with petnames, they're not his thing. He does always like the ever classic "little one" though.

Mori is a walking first aid kit. If you ever need anything like a bandage for a little booboo, he'd have it. Or perhaps, you have a chronic illness that flares up from time to time. He'd have you rest, but he'd made the recovery process fun.

Mori noticed you looked a little bit... out of it today. It wasn't just this moment he felt like that, it had been all day. "Hey, little one? Are you not feeling well... you don't seem to be acting like yourself?" He nodded at your answer. "I see... Perhaps it's time for some bed rest." He leads you to a private room with a bed, but sneaks you a cookie as a reward for getting some rest. "This stays between us, okay?"

Mori helps you understand how important self care is, and he's happy that he made such a positive impact on your life from hanging out with him a few days a week. It means a lot of him.

Heavy:

The screen is too small and his fingers are too big.

The screen also tends to hurt his eyes after a while but he absolutely refuses to turn down the brightness, saying it would make it even harder to see than before

His main favorite functions are video calls with Medic or his family and listening to music.

His life is complete when he discovers E-books

He can’t read them on the screen but he loves being able to clean Sasha while having his favorite book read to him

Medic:

Really doesn’t use it for much else than phone calls and the occasional google search at first

When he discovers mobile games that takes his interest though!

Scout:

Total social media zombie(I say as if I am not one)

Surprisingly he’s very popular on apps like Twitter and Tik Tok. People think he’s hilarious!

Unfortunately somewhere along the way he says something less than respectful about something and his account gets banned

Eventually he’s on account number 6 and trying to regrow his following

It never recovers

He finds out about NFT’s

Sniper:

Mainly uses it to watch youtube and play music

His phone is always on silent and Do Not Disturb

He loves those videos where those guys go out into the middle of the woods and just start building a fucking house out of clay and sticks.

He prefers texting to calling, finding it much faster(he just like me fr)

Baffled by just how much porn he has access to now….

But he’s not complaining.

Soldier:

He doesn’t use it because he just keeps breaking his phones.

They’ve been dropped, blown up, set ablaze, dropped in water, eaten by a bread-tumor monster, eaten by Soldier(???) and run over.

Even if they didn’t get destroyed within 3 days he still wouldn’t use it for much else besides setting alarms and sending confusing group texts.

However, with each new phone he has gotten he asks Pyro for stickers and sticker bombs his phone just for fun

I mean, I created a blog where our only purpose in life is to be safe in our horror and empathy for her situation and to acknowledge that she has so much nuance that the fandom doesn’t touch.

Everything about her breaks my heart. She’s a goddess in a disfunctional family who doesn’t understand mortal ways.

Also, her dad is the most toxic dude alive.

I mean, there’s this one line that people portray in so many ways, but you watch how Zeus interacts with her and recall the fact that he literally didn’t want her to live when she was conceived- he is SUCH a bully and her respect only stems from him being ‘king of the gods’.

None of the gods step in during God Games. At no point does anyone go “dad you can’t threaten your daughter because she did exactly what you asked her to do”. Not even ARES.

He’s the one who says, mortified, “is she dead?” So he didn’t WANT that turn of events. He cares about her and her state of being.

She’s the only one willing to challenge Zeus and he literally says, “you won, I don’t care, I’m going to heavily punish you because I’m unhappy that you said a true statement I didn’t like”

I've no respect for bullies, those who impose their will I've seen plenty enough to truly understand this kind of filth

Literally her entire life- no one’s been on her side! NO WONDER she doesn’t want to take Ody’s offer of friendship. Clearly no one has ever really given her trust or empathy that she can lean on.

She expects people to lack empathy. She doesn’t understand that he’s not that kind of person and her lessons won’t click.

Why would she trust a moral when she can’t trust the gods?

And she has such a temper which is so relatable.

They were in two different spectrums and that’s why they clashed.

She was running off of a mentor mindset. He was running off a friendship mindset. Neither was doing what the other needed for the relationship because they were not on the same page.

And then they hit the ditch in the road and everything cracked.

Time skip: the way that Athena talks to Telemachus says that she’s been stewing in regret because she KNOWS they were good friends and she didn’t want to admit it to herself. She understands why they clashed and now she doesn’t know what to do about it.

So this kid is like “I think you should help him even if he hates you. If he won’t accept your friendship then I’ll be here waiting.”

AND THAT’S LITERALLY EXACTLY WHAT SHE NEEDED TO HEAR?

SHE LITERALLY JUST NEEDED TO KNOW SHE HAD ONE PERSON ON HER SIDE? ONE FRIEND WHO CARED ABOUT HER?

I’m a sucker for ‘doing everything for the people you care about but platonically’ and Athena is the PICTURE of ‘oh wait I would platonically die for my friend’ and like?? That’s beautiful??? 😭

My only qualm with EPIC is the way that the Ithaca Saga handled Athena because you cannot convince me that it did not do her dirty. I have read and scrolled and chewed on all the arguments.

That. Beautiful. Goddess. Went. Above. And. Beyond. To. Mend. Her. Mistake and he outright denied her friendship.

That was not a “oh yeah we can be friends later” very well.

That’s a voice cracking, heartbroken: “I took a thunderbolt for you and you don’t want me in your life” very well. LIKE.

Yes. Oddy went through a lot. No denying that.

But he called out for HER. After everything, he called out for HER HELP. Showed a belief in her. Counted on her to save him

AND SHE DID WHAT HE NEEDED. TOOK A THUNDERBOLT. BEGGED ON HER KNEES WHILE SUFFERING AND IN AGONY.

I can't help but wonder What this world could be If we all held each other with a bit more empathy I can't help but feel like I led you astray What if there's a world where we don't have to live this way?

LIKE if they were going to try, the song would SAY that they plan to try. Jorge is not afraid to strongly imply things or outright say them. Ody doesn’t WANT to try and be friends. All he wants is wife. Which would be valid if SHE DIDN’T TAKE A THUNDERBOLT FOR HIM

ONE THAT SCARRED HER EYE AND KNOCKED HER OUT FOR SEVERAL SONGS SO SHE COULDN’T BE THERE TO HELP

There was no reason, no obligation, nothing but her love and affection for him that drew her to take that punishment from Zeus.

There is no way, after everything, she’s asking him to be her warrior.

She’s literally saying she messed up. She wants to mend their relationship. She wants to do better for him.

He could have said, “I’m not a man who does empathy anymore but we can try” instead of “I have other plans, gonna have to miss this friendship train” because that is an awful diss. Straight painful.

This amazing song did her so dirty and I will never get over it.

Thank goodness for Telemachus. She’ll needs his optimism and joy and willing friendship after the sting from that bite.

I just read your post about discipline and woah -all the answers/solutions I’ve been hiding from myself, to sum it up. But, I’ve really been struggling lately because this year I started off with a lot of missing work because if procrastination and my teachers are still letting me turn it in thank goodness but now I’m always behind because I’m still catching up to what I haven’t done. I’ve also been really lazy with my routines. I guess since it’s already kinda messed up from staying up late doing the missing work I just don’t try. I guess my question is- how to be disciplined when your already behind (even in track I realized I don’t eat enough protein so I can barely do bench presses with just the bar now 😭). Thanks 💕

The winter air was bitter, you were in chains around the house thanks to someone who had been stalking you for the longest time. He finally had you, all to himself and it made him smile. He had gotten home and heard noises from the top of the stairs, his eyes twitched at the chains on the floor, quickly realizing what was going on.

His voice was soft, but you could feel the anger seething through it all. While you were running, he had given you a headstart before making his way to the door, following your footprints, he ran after you, making it to the forest that blocked the house off by the darkness.

You feared for your life, his chuckle filled the air around you as you covered your mouth shut. But of course, as you turned to check the trees, you didn't see him until you turned and saw the man behind you with an evil grin. "There you are...my kitten!~" he said to you before grabbing you by the throat and holding you tight. You tried not to show it, but you were feeling small tingles just below your stomach, he didn't miss that. He kept you in his hold until you passed out. You only woke up later, sitting on a chair facing backwards, naked. Your clothing was neatly folded on the table beside you and your body was chained down, your back presented to him. You jolted as he growled low in your ear, hands exploring your frame as he took in your scent, soft violin music playing in the background, your favorite song you used to play on piano.

His hands found his way to your breasts, pinches and gently groping your nipples. He almost drooled at how you quivered in the chair, helpless. "I would love to say that I would let you off the hook, but for escaping, I need to punish you~" he cooed before walking off, grabbing a small whip off the table and letting the first one crack a red strip on your back, it made you gasp uncontrollably, shaking already as you attempted to hold back a moan. "I want you to count them, if I don't hear you or if you talk back, I'll start over." He told you and you counted out each one by his request.

Every so often, he'd put the pain back up and give you heavy slaps on your ass, making you jerk backwards and almost fall again, he made sure to hold you tight as you wringed every last drop from him, resting in his arms when you were done.

Happy new year! I continue to love yuri!! (and also... sonic the hedgehog... which has yuri in it now so really lucked out there)

2024 saw the end of one of my fav new(er) manga to come out recently, Monthly in the Garden with My Landlord! It really crept up on me for how much I've ended up liking it but dang, what a good ride! Sad to see it go but I'll defo keep up with the author's future works!

I've been doing a lot of catch up this year as there are plenty of longer running series' I just hadn't dug into, such as How Do We Relationship? Delicious in Dungeon and This Monster Wants to Eat Me.

Delicious in Dungeon is now so easily in my top 5 favorite manga of all time. Love the group dynamic, love the funniest morally grey elf Marcille Donato, love that its doesn't feel like it drags or goes too quick within its 14 volumes, just love it!! Also wild to see so much Farcille merch in the artist alley this year, it felt like every other table had something and I can't really think of another f/f pairing that's hit that level within the con circuit merch scene. It was a lovely to see!

On the more textual yuri side of thing: How Do We Relationship? Oh geez, of man, and what god damn read! It took me a few volumes to really get into it but the reveal that it's not “story about what happens after you start dating someone” but is actually “a story about what happens after you breakup with someone” is devastatingly good!

Rip to all the college yuri I'll read going forward because every one of them is going to be compared to HDWR, its set the new standard for me haha. It was so good I had to go and buy the whole thing in print as soon as I finished.

Speaking of which, this year I went back to buying manga in print and I'm really glad I committed to that! At first it was more a reaction to the waves of delisting we've seen but It was a lot of fun hunting down deals to populate the Yuri Tower. This corner of my room now legit makes me smile when I look at it, even if I'm going to have to work out how to fit more books on there soon.

On the video game side of things I played an old SNES RPG called Eternal Filiana and was sooo charmed by it. The game is based on a 80s light novel that is very much influenced by Lady Oscar's popularity at the time, having its own protag also be a blonde haired women who was raised as a man for plot reasons.

The part that was most interesting to me though was that the André to Filena's Oscar ended up being a woman she marries within the first 30 mins of the game. Filena and Lila can be a bit goofy in the games (b-b-but we're both women??) but they still have some legit sweet moments and having watched the OVA first, which is tries to take itself more seriously, I now have a real fondness for the pair. Here's to the first married yuri couple!

And finally... Sonic. It's been another good year for Sonic! The comics continue to be a fun read and I really liked Sonic X Shadow Generations despite being apathetic toward Shadow lol. He was good in it though and all his levels ripped! Great game! Third film also fun! Very excited by the characters who show up in the stinger :) I also got into making custom figure with my brother this year so that's been a fun hobby for us to do together.

Ok, so this is a little unorthodox for me because I usually only put songs from the characters' perspectives on their respective playlists, but I can't get this scene out of my head. In my mind, this is Mazey's perspective from the chunk of that first downtime when Fabian invites her and everyone else in dance class to Seacaster Manor, and Fabian starts to really come out of his shell.

Think of it like a slow-burn montage of the two dancing (literally dancing) around their potential feelings for one another. The song has a really nice groove to it, and it matches up with Mazey's cool and earnest personality.

Do u think fob repeated the same pattern that led up to the hiatus during the post hiatus three album run(obviously not as intense)? At the very least- Joe still ended up in the same unhappy place of no real involvement in the song writing process, despite that having been a condition to return to the band initially.

i think to a degree yeah. iirc joe was relatively happy with srar/abap at least and it was i think mania that was his big problem because patrick just wasn’t communicating with him at all and doing his own thing. from what i understand it kind of sounds like mania was almost entirely patrick’s project? i know pete was involved with the production somewhat and i think he was relatively happy with the album itself but they (pete and patrick) have both said that the more ‘pop’ based songs on the album were rushed and that they recorded them in the span of like, two weeks. tbh though i guess patrick didn’t get what he wanted either and they were all around pretty dissatisfied with it in different ways lol

i think the core of the issue is that they’re all bad at communication lol with patrick being the worst and joe being the best and pete being somewhere in the middle. another added component is that i think joe and patrick have wildly different taste in music. obviously it overlaps at certain points but i truly think there’s stylistic choices they’re just never going to agree on and like patrick gets a lot of shit for being pretentious which he should because he is but i think joe is also pretty pretentious lol so imo this is also part of the problem but less so because truly i think joe’s main issue is that communication had broken down and he wasn’t being included. which i don’t think he or anyone really thinks patrick meant any harm by, he’s just kind of selfish musically lol

also while i think my tastes align more with patrick’s more-so than the other members i also agree with pete (and patrick lol) that he has horrible taste in singles, plus imo soul punk and mania simply lack cohesion. if he had had more time/money maybe this wouldn’t have been such of an issue but i really do think he needs someone around to help ground him. like, what a time to be alive is one of my favorite songs on stardust, but mania is consistently either last or second to last in my fob album rankings (not including evening out) despite having a few of my favorite songs on it (sunshine riptide is in my top 10) because i think the bad songs that are on it, like with abap, are just…really bad lol, while none of the others have tracks that i would consider ‘career worst’ level (except maybe grenade jumper)

anyway i was rambling sorry. my point is i do think patrick is a kind and sensitive guy who cares deeply about his friends but also that he’s pretentious and at the time was kind of selfish and needed to like, actively work to make sure he was including joe. tbh i think mania was different from pre-hiatus because it seems like patrick was actively volatile in some ways at that point in time; i’m sure outside stressors also contributed to this, i mean tbh he was actively an alcoholic and joe and pete were both addicted to pills plus their other issues, whereas during mania it seems like joe was probably the one struggling the most due to his mental and physical health breaking down as well. while i don’t think pete and patrick were in great places either (i feel like patrick may have been having some trouble in his marriage at this point in time), it was like, BAD for joe. so for him? yeah definitely i think it was extremely similar to what happened pre-hiatus, whereas for patrick and pete i don’t think it was nearly as difficult of an experience. so like, same outcome, mostly, but for different reasons

After Scratch dies, Hotch comes back to the BAU, but I keep my new position as unit chief, and Hotch just becomes a regular member of the team.

It takes longer for the team to go through the motions of Rossi's past because it felt far too quickly done in canon for me. Rearranged a bunch of episodes in the timeline for this and other reasons.

Morgan has lessened trust issues.

JJ didn't emotionally cheat on Will, her fucking baby daddy, because what the fuck was that??

Also, Haley and Hotch were less toxic because WOAH and Strauss and Rossi aren't hunching.

My most controversial take (current fandom):

Zevlor as a paladin companion ("good" route alternative to Minthara) makes more sense than Halsin or Minsc as a companion. Halsin at least should've been party-recruitable going into Act 2 and the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Right? He would have so much idle dialogue while exploring that map. And though I truly adore Minsc and do use him in my party (re-specced to Gloomstalker to give Astarion a break now and then), he's just recruited so late in Act 3. Recruiting Zevlor in the Mindflayer Colony and bringing him into Act 3 (plus the Ketheric fight) would've just been so interesting for the Tief community as a whole. They are such a big part of Acts 1 & 2, it just feels like they need more closure in the final act.

Current writing mood (10 – super motivated and churning out words like crazy, 0 – in a complete rut):

I'd say a 7! I am noodling on little blurbs every night, including for my Rolan WIPs, and for any other NPCs that strike my fancy. I don't have as much free time as I did in January (fuck work) or I'd be writing a lot more. And Rimworld Anomaly DLC + Stardew 1.6 are seriously testing my free time lmao! But the thirst to write can never be snuffed out~

Probably one of the best games i'll ever play. I don't exactly remember when this game exploded all over the internet, 2018 - 2020? Somewhere in that timeframe. Anyways, you know about this game. or saw it at some point. I remember being impressed by that one animated trailer for the game's full release.

Thanks to the release of it's sequel, it was cheap on steam. So i gave it a shot. I knew nothing about this game going into it. I learned that it was top-down the moment my first run started.

Hades's entire story is told through the backdrop of greek mythology. You play as Zagreus, a real figure in greek mythology. What's he doing? He's breaking out. He's going up to the surface, to see what may await him there. One thing that's amazing about this game is how the storytelling is directly linked to the gameplay. Due to the nature of a rougelike, Zagreus's death is a common event. But here, it's something that all of the characters are aware of. His, or your repeated escape attempts are actually canon. That means characters even comment on what you've recently done. Some will even laugh at the dumb way you died. Other bosses and NPCs mention and talk to Zag like he's the regular at a coffee shop. Other characters have their own backstories and well, stories that both you and Zag can discover together through your repeated runs. that It helps sell the progression of time and the world that you're in.

Speaking of the world- it has so much love in it. There are so many details that you'll catch only once in that run. It's packed with so much content. i feel that i've only seen just the tip of it.

Visually, this game is insane. For one, the character design is next. level. I've seen hundreds of interpretations of the greek gods in all sorts of media, but this game's is one of the most striking. While doing serious research, the full range of human expression is used here. All sorts of skin tones, colors, shapes and so on appear. This is the shit i love. Jen Zee is beyond cracked. My favorite gods were Artemis, Ares, Poseidon and Dionysus. This is one of the few games that's gotten me to fall in love with it's entire cast.

Alongside beautifully crafted 3D models, each area in-game is hand drawn. To me, it felt like i was running around a pop up picture book. Each area has a distinct look that sells a different atmosphere really well through the use of color.

This game is a rougelike. You're playing the same game over and over, but through different abilities that you can pick up, no one run is the same. Boons are abilities that the gods can give you after talking to you,

I was actually surprised as to how boons could change your experience. Affecting your moveset, your controls, your movement, your other boons, how you deal damage, and even expanding your moveset. Some of my favorite boons are the ones that deal doom effects or critical damage. Hermes's boons are also a welcome sight.

The music is also just as ridiculous. Darren Korb is as skilled as a songwriter as he is a voice actor. Speaking of voice acting, the folks at Supergiant did not play even for a second about this game's voice acting. Every character puts on a 10/10 performance. Something that's really interesting about this game is the way the characters sound. I found it strange initially as to why everyone was "whispering". As i got used to how softly spoken everyone was, i realized that they put these filters on the godly/supernatural beings to better portray that image. it's really good.

I can't but can also believe that i missed out on this game back then. I feel like such an idiot. I have a lot of catch-up to play.

After i really finish this game's story.

I don't really have a preference because those breaks don't apply to me anymore, but I'm gonna go with spring just because I passionately hate winter in this country.

How many concerts have you been to in your life?

I've seen Jann Arden three times, in three different venues, two different cities. I also saw Whitney Houston's concert for a post-apartheid South Africa when they remastered the show from Durban, 1994, and released it in theatres in October. If she were still alive, I wouldn't actually count that, but I never had a chance to see her while she was here. The theatre was not extremely big, but those of us that were there were singing and boppin' along and crying like we were at one of her actual shows. The sound was also amazing. You could feel the floor vibrating. It was the next best thing to actually being present in South Africa at that time.

I hate this question. It's in the same vein as "what's your favorite song?" I don't know. I have 6,500 songs on my Spotify, man. I could maybe narrow it down to my top 100. My favourites rotate. I like such a large, eclectic variety of music across so many decades. Anything from about the 50's to today. I can't pick just one genre. Country was my first love and what I grew up on and grew up singing as a young kid. I also like R&B/soul, Motown, some gospel stuff even though I'm an atheist now and don't really identify with or find comfort in my family's beliefs, pop, rock, reggae, easy listening, Latin/Spanish music... Idk. Literally everything, dude. The only things I don't really listen to are heavy metal and screamo type stuff, but it doesn't mean I hate it. One of my best friends is pretty into music like that and I'll listen to it with her and let her teach me about artists or bands in that space. I think it's important to be present and genuinely support the interests and passions of people I really care about, especially because those who were meant to care about me aren't that present at all and basically just shit on mine.

If I choose to skip the shower that day it's basically the same, but minus that part and going straight to food and/or coffee after getting dressed.

I cry pretty much daily. Sick of some of the things my disability causes me to deal with, depressed and anxious about having to move.

1 - hmmm this was hard to narrow down so i'll talk abt a specific scene that's been on my mind. okay ig honestly the detention center is Always on my mind because it's the first time we get a really good look at megumi's character and what he values. but mostly i was thinking abt the part where megumi takes the name tag from the guy he was so adamant about not saving for his mom. i don't think he changed his mind, but to me, it just shows how much he cares about his friends. like i think when he originally took it, it was so he could give it to yuuji so he could give it to the guy's mom, but then when he thought yuuji was dead, he delivered it as a way to pay respect dkfgjhd idk current top megumi moment

2 - nowadays when i rewatch it im team near & mello actually🤞 and pretty anti-light, but i think the first time i watched it, i was so wrapped up in the back & forth between light & l that i probably did root for both this was like 10 years ago tho so i dont remember fs 😭

3 - ooh i think like. in terms of writing fanfic its like when i was a kid & played w dolls like it gives me the same type of feeling, but also i've always been the type to use imagination as escapism, so being able to bring the things in my head "to life" is really satisfying as well
